Speaker 1 (00:01):
It is the best of two pros and a couple
of Joe with LaVar areas Rady Quinn and Jonas Knocks
on radio. It's obviously the news that's got everybody a
little bit shook in the world of sports that came
out a short time ago that we talked about on
the air. The Great Franco Harris passed away according to reports,
(00:25):
at the age of seventy two. Obviously, as Eddie mentioned,
this is on you know, the doorstep of the fifty
year anniversary of the Immaculate Reception, one of the most
historic plays in the history of sports, not just football,
and the plan there because of the fifty year um
anniversary of that, they were going to retire his jersey
this weekend. They were playing the Raiders on Christmas Eve.
(00:48):
It was a big celebration there in Pittsburgh. They were
going to do a football life documentary on the NFL network,
and so three days before the Great Franco Harris passes away. Just, uh,
just tough situation. I know, LaVar obviously Penn State or
Pittsburgh Steeler, that was somebody that was a big part
of your growing up and you know, majority of your
(01:09):
football life. Yes, I'm still in shock, just kind of
still in shock, trying trying to uh, trying to process it.
Just just got off the phone with um, a couple
of family members or whatever, just just close to the situation.
Just still trying to process at all. I don't I
don't want to discuss, you know what what my phone
call was. But I'm not ready yet. But uh man
(01:33):
playing out on national radio right now. Huh just shocked.
I'm shocked. It's not yeah, I'm just I don't know.
I'm at a loss right now. So I mean Franco,
Franco is like he's he's like he's our he's our
gold standard. Like and when I say our, obviously everyone
(01:55):
who's ever ever gone to Penn State ever, anyone who's
ever represented school. UM, what he meant to, you know,
our community in Pittsburgh, all the things that he did
to get back to the community. Uh. I've known I've
known Franco since I was fourteen years old, and he's
just always been he's always been our role model. He
(02:17):
he's always been again what what you you want to
strive to be? He's just always been, you know what,
what's good, what's good about us as as athletes, what's
good about us as people and what we represent. So
that's you know, ah, man, just this Uh, I mean
(02:40):
I lost family member. I just a fount out al
radio that I lots a family member. Uh and and
so that's that's kind of you know, this is a
little bit uh you know, it's emotional moment I'm having
right now. Yeah. Man, what the Ohio State game? I
(03:00):
was there? Yeah, jeez, that's rough. Man. Well listen, it's uh,
obviously a tough thing to have to find out at
any time, and especially in the middle of doing a
live show and and just to see I certainly would
have liked to have gotten this information in a different place. Yeah,
you know, And I think it's the you know, the
feeling of a lot of people are are sort of shook,
(03:22):
Like if you go on social media, people are is
this real? Like they are baskets there. It's it's a
it's definitely real. It is definitely real. And man, just
there's just a lot of emotions, and there's a lot
of emotions right now. And I'm not just speaking for me,
(03:44):
I'm saying with the phone call I was just on,
it's it's a man, it's a lot of emotion. Yeah,
and then as we talked about, he's just like a mantony.
You come down that elevator and there he is every time,
every time, every time you just see you see the
immaculate reception at the Pittsburgh Airport and just a great
career and from all accounts, great dude and uh obviously
(04:07):
a penn Stater Pittsburgh Steeler and gone at seventy two.
That's that's crazy. Just a couple of days before they
honored him with the retired jersey and and all of
that stuff for the for the Raiders Steelers. Now that
adds another another element to that whole situation, and it
turns what was supposed to be a great moment into
a real tough one for a lot of people. So, uh,
(04:29):
any other details come out, we'll let you know. But
people should celebrate him though you know it's it's going
to be a lot of emotions and raw feelings right now,
but people should really, truly um do their best to
celebrate him because he he certainly is worthy of all
the celebration, of all the things that he's done. Franco's
(04:52):
Italian Army, that was the army on man, this is
a whole lot of a whole lot of memorable you
know things connect to to Franco, you know. And and
that's you know, man, man, that's him and Lidell so
so Lidel Mitchell. They were really really tight and they
do this annual event every every single year where they
(05:15):
they raise money, um, you know, for for a charitable cause.
And him and Lidell is like every time you see them,
it's like one of the coolest things seeing Lidel Mitchell
and and Frank o'harris, like it's it's weird. You start
as as you're getting older, you start to think about
(05:36):
the great ones that that you've you've been blessed enough
to to be around and learn from and experience their presence.
And Lenny more would have been the one that you know,
like you're like, you know, the Redding Rocket is getting
up there and and age and you start to prepare
yourself for the ones you know in life where they
(06:00):
may not be here anymore. But yeah, man, that's that's uh.
I guess it's never easy even if it if it
would have been a different name, it's just but that name,
out of all names for for Eddie to say, it's
like I'm a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, you know what I mean.
So if he would have said Terry Bradshaw, you know,
it's like, man, that would have hurt, but it would
(06:21):
have been like man, like dang Terry, Terry Bradshaw, you know,
and then you keep it moving. This is different this one.
This one hits all the way in the house. This
is in my house, this hits. This one hits home.
So I don't know, man, that's you know, I'm a
I'm a find a way to feel, you know, good
enough for us to to go ahead and do what
(06:43):
we need to do. But if I am quiet at
any point in time, y'all will forgive me. If if
I have quiet moments during the course of the show, man, well,
I mean listen, uh you know that's why I mean,
Brady and I will slap it up a little. We'll
be a little uh you know, we'll goof and uh
we'll try and uh, you know, have fun as as
much as we can, obviously in a tough situation. So
(07:04):
that that is the pin Stater, Like that's like we
didn't lose a pen stater. We lost the pen Stater
Like that's that's that's him. You know, I lost our guy,
but you gotta be you. You know, that's that's how
life works. And then you gotta again, you gotta celebrate
what what what matters most, which is what he did
(07:26):
while he was here. I mean, it was a life
well served and he got it. He got a lot
out of it, so a ton out of it. So
you know, there's that. Yeah, he always seemed like he
was in good mood too, but he never seemed like
he was moved. Yeah, just kind of always smiling kinda yeah.
I just never like there was never any sort of
(07:48):
weird interview or anything that he did that sort of
came across as well, this guy thinks he's better than everybody,
and he thinks he and uh and that's kind of
rare for a guy with his credentials and his six says.
So it's a that's a tough one, man. Um, it's
two pros and a cup of Joe. Here on Fox
Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn Jonas knocks so that
(08:09):
you can hang out with us. Is always on the
I Heart Radio app So again. Uh, Franco Harris, the
Great Franco Harris passing away a short time ago at
the age of seventy two. Be sure to catch live
editions of Two Pros and a Cup of Joe with
Brady Quinn, LaVar Arrington and Jonas Knocks week days at
six am Eastern three am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio
(08:31):
and the I Heart Radio app. So, I know you
guys have been asking, all right, so, what what's Matt
Stafford going to do next year? Right? Is it gonna
come back and play the l A Rams have been
eliminated from playoff contention. They're a bad football team. They've
got injuries. Just knock on well at all. Sean McVeigh
also known as mcvape, according to Petros Papadakis, who's gonna
(08:53):
be joining us here at about twenty minutes from now.
He looks really stressed out and really disappointed with what
this year has brought. It's a lot of people are wondering, well,
Matt Stafford's got this neck issue, and he got a
concussion at one point, he had an army issue in
the in the off season. What is the plan for
Matt Stafford next year? So let's go to the Morning
(09:13):
After podcast where he was asked the hard hitting question
from his wife. All right, and a lot of people
are asking this, which I already know the answer too,
But retirement Are you retiring? Okay? Thank you? Sorry. I
figure like I say it, but no one listens to me.
So I feel like coming out of your mouth. No,
I think people are really asking it because I've been
(09:35):
so emotional on this podcast about you. So there's that
he's not retiring. Well, he's got a lot of money.
You know that you wouldn't want to retire. I mean,
it's not the passion, all right. I put it this way, Um,
March is a big month for the Stafford family. Um.
(09:56):
I mean, let's put it this way. Salary just do
one million bucks becomes fully guaranteed come come March nineteen,
and then he's got an option bonus. Umy million. Uh
that also happens to to hit March nine. What's that there.
(10:16):
That's a lot of money. It's a lot of money. Yeah.
And just so people at home know, if you retire,
you don't get that. So that's that's how that works. Um. Yeah,
So I just there's a lot of money out there that. Yeah.
I don't know that he's he's looking at retiring anytime soon.
I mean, did they sound super excited about him not
(10:40):
retiring and them not like being around each other or whatever.
I mean, it just sounded like, yeah, are you retiring
already know the answer. No, I'm not retiring. That's right,
That's that's perfect. I don't need you messing up my
my daily routine type deal. Yeah, well, you know, don't know.
(11:01):
I mean, I don't know. Maybe I'm just I'm not.
I mean, it's gonna be a different offseason for them completely.
Obviously they were celebrating being the best last off season
and nobody was doing you know, nobody holding a camera.
Did a pirouete off a stage at a super Bowl?
There won't be to fall off. I mean, that's a
good thing that could have been a part of the
(11:22):
good beat. And the ugly segment is that, you know what,
there won't be anyone who gets injured from falling off
of a stage that's ten feet high, um, for a
super Bowl, Super Bowl celebration for the RAM. Did they
need to sign him to that extension this past offseason? No? Why?
(11:42):
What was I mean, Aaron Donald, I get like, you know,
he wanted to get in and a rightfully so, and
I can understand you know why that move was me.
But the Stafford stuff, it just kind of felt like
did you have to get it done then? And I
just wonder is there any sort of regret from the Rams?
Look it where they're at going oh boy, uh? I mean,
(12:03):
here we are and we've got an aging quarterback who's
banged up and we owe him fifty whatever a million
dollars and you know he's not even gonna catch a
you know, a camera one when he falls off the stage.
Just feels like there's there's problems. He didn't have a
chance to grab her. Well, that's true, he did not
have a chance. We should be accurate. Um. The odd
(12:24):
thing is like the amount of the contract value in
the way it's structured. I mean at at his age
at thirty four. You know they gave him a hundred
thirty total guaranteed, like sixty three at signing and you're
looking at going okay, that kind of makes sense, you know,
market value for a starting quarterback, But like, does he
want to play until he's forty? Like not every guy
(12:45):
wants to. I mean, this is one of those contracts
that you look at and if he decided to hang
it up, given how much money he's made, his career,
which Matt Stafford is one of the all time biggest
earners in NFL history, just so people understand that, Like
he's up there amongst everyone because he was selected number
one overall back before the the rookie draft salary pool changed,
(13:09):
where those numbers were dwindled by you know what came
before that. So he's made a ton of money in
his career, and I don't know, maybe the money is
the motivation. I mean, like I said, fifty seven million
all kicks in in March. It's hard to turn that down.
Do you know? The number how much he's made in
his career is a twitter and fifty. He's made over
(13:30):
three million for him, So like when people are like, oh,
but it's like, well, yeah, and here's the here's the reality.
People who have money. If he's made over three d
you can safely say he's probably you know, he's earned
after taxes a hundred fifty so another fifty million, right,
seven million, it's still meaningful. It's that's an incredible amount
(13:53):
of money that he's gonna be able to make a
significant amount of the course of the next few seasons.
And by the way, they can't really get out from
underneath this, they're dead cap hits. The next three years
are sixty three million, next year forty point five, the
following sixty three, this year forty nine point five, thirty
(14:14):
six million. Like they're locked into him for a while,
so they're invested to make this work. And that's why
it's really interesting now adding Baker into the mix, because
he might view it and say, all right, like I'm
a viable backup, but he might actually be the guy
that could you know, I want to compete and try
(14:35):
to win out this job. And who knows how that
would play out, if if McVeigh would actually let that happen.
If Stafford plays out the entirety of this contract remaining
at the end of it in two the after two
thousand twenty six, he will have made in his career
over four hundred and twenty two million dollars go for him.
Good Christ, It's it's incredible. And by the way, I
(14:58):
don't know that you'll see I mean you'll see their
players make above that number. Patrick Mahomes obviously contract he signed,
and you know, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, etcetera. Um, But
it'll take a first round maybe number one overall pick
who ends up getting those second and third contracts to
do it. But it still would be tough because you know,
(15:18):
Stafford was able to capitalize every single time he was
able to be up for a contract after being the
number one overall pick, and so all that's kind of
led to just ridiculous earning ability. That's incredible, But it's
a lot of money. Yeah, it's a lot of money.
I mean he's earned it. He's earned as much as Brady,
and and Brady has played a lot more than Matt
(15:40):
Stafford at when you have to look at it too, Tom,
I think the hard thing for people to digest is
Tom Brady has won seven Super Bowls? How is he
not the highest pay? Right? Like that? That's what people
think on the outside grant, he's made a ton of
money and marketing and everything else, but as far as compensation,
you always say, well, like, how is how is that?
(16:00):
Tom Brady kind of took a discount for a good
portion of his career too. That Brady's rookie year he
made two one thousand and then three seventy two thousand
in year two when he won that Super Bowl, he
didn't make more than ten million of season until oh five.
So that's like, that's that's how far how much things
have changed since? Uh since what is this mean for
(16:23):
Baker Mayfield? Stick around? Yeah? I mean I think you've
got to stick around and hope you get opportunities in
a good system, a good situation with a good play
caller if Stafford can't stay healthy, which could be the
case moving forward. And you think McVeigh is gonna be
back next year, correct, Like we're we're on on that
train that McVeigh will be back because you know, Sean
(16:44):
Payton's looking at one of those l A jobs apparently
that's that's that's out there. Yeah, well he's you know,
he's come out and uh that's the report that Sean Payton,
you know, has said publicly he's interested in getting back
into the right situation. And then you know the two
l A jobs and pretend at New Orleans is also
a team that that he would think about wanting to rejoin.
So you know, if Brandon Staley or Sean McVeigh went out,
(17:08):
Sean Payton's lurking. So there's that potential there as well too.
There you go. Yeah, I mean that's a little little
little Sean on Sean crime they're trying to get to
get the l A Rams. I think McVeigh probably comes
back for another season, but if it goes similar to
how this year went, I just I mean, what are
we doing? He just like go, He's going to go
(17:30):
broadcast like that's It just feels like he's not long
for the job. And it feels like Matt Stafford is
not long there either, although you know, financially it probably
makes sense for him to stick around a little bit longer.
So good for him, man, good for Matt Stafford. You
know he needs it. He needs that extra coin here.
You know, holidays come on, the holidays are coming up.
Things are expensive nowadays. I mean you see we talked
(17:51):
about how expensive Christmas trees are. I mean, everything's outrageous now.
The shipping prices. You try and send anybody to anything
for the holidays, they're jacking up the shipping prices. It's awful.
What's happened. Everybody's not even there. I mean, yeah, that's
the other thing. People are paying extra for shipping and
it may not even get there. Order made some grinch
sneakers and they still haven't come. I had I had
(18:14):
this happened to me. The other day. So I had it.
I had something mailed um and it wasn't even a gift.
It was actually like something like for like our our
household that we needed, and they the Amazon delivery truck.
They delivered it to a commercial mailbox, but they dropped
it off out front, like in closed hours gone. Somebody
(18:34):
just like picked it up off the street and took it.
I was like, why would they think that was a
good idea to drop it off there? Well, that was
more of the issue. And the problem is it's the
way like the overnight service deliveries this time of year
get paid, they don't get paid unless they drop it off.
So once they drop it off, they take a picture
and then it sends you a thing like hey, is
this good? So I was like, no, it's not good
(18:55):
because it's not there, And so I had to go
through the whole thing with the Amazon to then have
them replace it and send another during working hours. But
it's it's it's one of those deals where you think
common sense would prevail. It obviously didn't in that case. Well,
luckily you can get it replaced quickly, because I can't
even imagine I've been waiting almost a month some Grinch
(19:18):
sneakers and no they're Adidas. Oh yeah, but but I
mean Christmas is gonna be over. I'm not I'm not
gonna get to rock them, but for a couple of days.
I mean, I guess I'll have to figure out a
way to just re rebrand them. You know, they're not
Grinch sneakers. I almost bought the ones those are right there.
(19:39):
I almost bought the ones that had the Grinch fur
on them. They're they're actually Nikes, but that might have
been going a little too far with it. And again
I might not have had a whole lot of time
to wear them, so I don't know. At least you're
lucky that you could get it back quickly, because if
they had lost those and I gotta probably way to
hold another again. Do you like the Grinch or Santa
(20:02):
Claus more? I'm a fan of the Grinch real yeah, yeah,
I think he's more interesting. He seems like a bit
of a fake tough guy. I just feel like people
be sweating Santa Claus. Grinch seems like a fake tough guy.
Just be too many people sweating side. I think I
think Santa Claus would wear his ass out and think
I'd into it. I don't know what the body shots
(20:23):
will be effective on Santa. You know, you did see
The Grinch, the movie with with Jim Carrey. I mean
when he had to pool all of the gifts from
the city, from the town and and pull it back,
he's throwing his s bro he would jack sent up. Yeah,
but he's a bit of a front Runner's where it
(20:44):
could get interesting. You know, the Grinch is an army
of one, whereas Santa has a whole bunch of elves.
Now he might be in trouble dealing with them elves,
you know, the just to share volume of all of
those those dudes, and and you know the team of
(21:05):
of of helpers, you know, rushing bummer. I'm certain they
would bum rush the Grinch. I just feel like Santa's
cardio is going to be better than the Grinch. Why well,
because all those houses he goes to on Christmas Eve.
You don't you're not able to make those rounds unless
your cardio is in ticktop. You know. So you're saying,
like comparing to uh a NASCAR driver, like you gotta
(21:28):
drive that sleigh, then you gotta go down those those chimneys,
you know, Santa's kind of the original cross fitter if
you think about it, because he's got to grab those gifts.
He's doing all sorts of random stuff. I wondered, for
a big family, how many times does he have to
go up and down the chimney one sack, everything's in
(21:49):
one bag and he just drops down takes it all there.
There's also a bit of magic with Santa, So I
feel like you're you're not factoring how that factors out
of the fun. There is magic to st Nick. That's
that's true. And we're not even sure because everyone thinks
while he's fat and eats cookies and all that, Like,
we're not sure he actually eats those cookies. It's never
been we've never been documented to. We don't know that
(22:11):
it's been documented. Finley's caught him on on film VHS.
Oh yeah, Brian family said that he's got He's got
him more than one time. Yeah. One of the more
strange deciding of Bigfoot, Like he's got Santa walking through
his crib eating eating cookies with Yeah. Yeah, yeah, so
that's not true that that that rumor is confirmed. He
(22:33):
does eat the cookies. He doesn't eat the whole cookie,
just takes bites because there's that that's a whole lot
of cookies that you're eating. Portion control. Yeah, it's like
an athlete. Now, if all of those cookies are fully
eaten and they're gone and the milk is gone, that's
someone in your house. But if it's a sip of
the milk, if it's a bite or two of the cookie,
(22:53):
one cookie, that's Santa. That was he was there the
great point. Ye. Be sure to catch live editions of

He is the cost of the Petros and Money Show,
which can be heard on What's That Station Brady AM
five seventy l a sports also a Fox College Football
analyst and a friend of the program. Get him on
Twitter at the old p Good morning, Petros. Hello, good
morning to it to you, Good morning to issue Americ Christmas.
(24:07):
I want to issue Americ. You get into holiday spirit. Petros?
No not a fan? WHOA what? No? No, I didn't
come on. You don't expect me to like Christmas? Do you?
I don't know this one. I actually thought you would like. Well.
I like having the football season be over, and and
(24:30):
just I like getting to the end of the year,
just personally for work. I did not think you're gonna
say any of this. I like, I like finishing and
taking the week and a half off. But every year,
like for twenty years, I strive to get the football
season done. I strive to finish all my radio work,
(24:53):
do all the reads, record all the holiday greetings, make
sure all the advertisers are happy, all that stuff, and
then I end up just sitting around for ten days
screaming at my kids about how spoiled they are. So
I don't know. So you're taking some time off, is
what you're telling us. I always do, and I usually
(25:16):
find it unsatisfying because I mean, you're a workaholic, I guess.
But then, like this time of year, I kind of
hit the wall when it comes to work, and I'm
kind of over it and I'm tired, and every segment
on the radio is like a grind to finish the year.
And when the year is over, I sit around and
(25:36):
I stand on a pile of garbage, real pile of garbage. No,
a figurative pile. Now, do you? Is there a certain
holiday cocktail you go to. I don't even know where
the city dump is. Uh No, I just drink whiskey. Jonath,
you put that in your egg nog? Or you just
(25:59):
just does anybody drink eggnog? I have drink eggnog? I
mean I think I used to when I was doing Christmas.
What are you putting your eggnog? I have no idea
what she puts in there. I know Jonas doesn't drink it.
I feel great after after I drink it. No I did.
(26:20):
That would be a problem. Well, I try to bring
that that noise to to this studio. You know, the room.
Yeah that's bad. Are you guys lactose intolerant? Yeah? All right,
well that's good news. Good news with the egg nog,
do milkshakes, ice cream cheesecake. It's really good. I'll take
one of the physical challenge. Well, I am not a
(26:43):
fan of the of the holiday, but anyway, I mean, look,
I I tried my best. I have children, I try
to do what my My daughter has been given a hamster,
so I now live with speed O the hamster upstairs.
That's our first animal since the FI died, and I'm
allergic to dogs and cats. Who gave her the hamster?
(27:07):
My mother? I mean my wife? I mean, is it
the same her mother? No, my mother is different. I'm
not married to my wife your mother. Wait, I'm not
married to you. You guys want to ask me sports questions.
I tried more interesting? This is? This? Is you sound irritable.
(27:30):
Let's not irritable. I just I don't know what to
tell you guys about Christmas. It's not like I put
on a sweater and drive around and look at the
lights and sing songs. I'm not a fan. Clearly, usc
former football players don't like the holiday season very much. Well,
(27:50):
I'm just one. No, I don't know. I'm curious about
what was your take on the latest on on Big
Mac Man, Like, did you get any did you get
any information maybe that that kind of puts it in
a little bit better context. Willie McGinnis, Oh, Willie doesn't
like me. No, No, Willie really doesn't like really what happened?
(28:12):
Willy's gotten after me before? Uh No, he just he's
Willie is volatile. I've always felt that way. But anyway, No,
I I he they stole on somebody at a club
and he's fifty years old, and it was on camera,
and it's it's bad. Yes, that is. I don't know.
(28:33):
Like I'm sure. I'm sure that there's some kind of backstory,
but I'm not sure that excuses the behavior at that age,
but or any age really, But I'm sure that some
details will come out. And will he's done some good
stuff in the community and and been a good guy
to a lot of people. So I hope it works
out for I was hoping you have some more. No,
(28:56):
I don't know. Look at a club in West Hollywood
after hours and some swinging a bottle. I have no
idea what happened. I have not been to a club
or seen bottle service in something that somebody told me
that they were there at the club that night. Actually,
I do have insight time somebody told me they were
(29:21):
there at the club that night. And somebody, I'm not
gonna say who. Somebody was acting like they got into
the smelling salts. Oh just really riled it, riled and beguiled.
So it was a party. I have no idea. I
have no idea. Were you saying it was snowing the
That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying people were riled up.
(29:41):
Who who are talking about? I don't know. I don't know.
Smelling salts will wake you up before exactly right, if
you just have a guy that went around and did
it to everybody in the stretch, lad about did you'll
put them in the bottles? You know, put like three
four of them in a little little water bottle and
then open it up, or they were distributed and at
you away? Yet? All right? Okay, alright? How you feel
(30:03):
about bull season coming up? Listen? I enjoy the bull season.
I enjoyed watching my beaves win. They had a great year,
a ten win season for my Beaves and a fun
team to watch. They had that guy the Jackhammer who
would make tackles, block punts, run fake punts, play quarterback,
play fullback, play tailback. That was a lot of fun
(30:25):
to watch him. And then uh my Fresno State Bulldogs
finished ten wins over Washington Jimmy Kimmel Bowl. You know,
they started out one and four and won the next
nine games or something, which is epic and I don't
know if it's ever been done like that before. And
Jeff Tedford had a terrible heart problem and had to
(30:46):
quit football and stop coaching Fresno State. Klin Dubor became
the head coach, had success, went to Washington, Jeff came
back and lead them. So that's pretty cool. Uh J T.
Daniel's team Rice is playing or playing? They lost to
Southern Miss. Was that yesterday? Now that was a couple
of days. My b y U after they fired the
(31:10):
entire defensive staff beat SMU and then Mexico Bowl. Uh
Boise got to ten wins. My Boise State broncos I
did a bunch of their games, beating North Texas who
now at North Texas's head coach is now going to
be the old offensive coordinator from Washington State who was
the head coach at Incarnate word from Leeches coaching Tree,
(31:33):
Eric Morris, So that's news. And then we had Yukon's
miracle season come to an end and Myrtle Beach on
the teal. That's right, and then uh, today's today's Wednesday. Right,
So yesterday my San Jose State Spartans went down, Dude,
that mad decision on fourth and one. That play called
(31:55):
crushed me because that was the game and they have
a right on the field and scored a touchdown and
flip the game was over. San Jose is no to
have a good play caller. And Kevin mcgiven, yeah, it
was not on that one big day for the for
the Mac though, Brady yesterday with Eastern Eastern beating San
JOSEO and you saw Toledo was then I did the
(32:18):
h going to the Boca Raton ball I've been there
in that stadium before Howard Schnellenberger. Basically I saw Schnellenberger
at the hotel down the street before. I did the
game at f a U Stadium in Boca Raton years ago,
Miami at f a U And who was that old
(32:39):
Miami coach Golden Yeah, I asked him a question after
the Gator they took their foot way off the gas
against Fau in the fourth quarter. I was like, it
kind of throttled down with stuff there in the fourth
corner coach, and he was like, I don't think that's fair. Whatever.
Did you have a tie on? You look better than me?
(33:01):
Uh yeah. Toledo beat Liberty and then we have had
to cover Petros, so we come on, I don't care,
but what about Dick Kwon, Fann and Matt Candle. Let's
go got hurt early? It was he came back. He
came back for a little bit, but it was it
was gleasa. It kind of sparked him, kind of turn
the time sitting here and contradict me. Petros there, why happen?
(33:26):
My daughter goes, Daddy, what happened did that man? You
don't know that man's hurt. You don't go You don't
even know what happened. You don't even don't take no
let from no bartender. You were eating a funnel cake
or something. I was trying to wrangle wrap somebody on
the bear to get You don't even know Petris. Why
is Jimmy Kimmel got a bowl game? The hell's going on? ABC?
(33:47):
Come on, why can't Adam Corolla get a bowl game?
Why can you get a bowl game in l A?
Because I don't work for a network like that. You
work for Fox. Yeah, And they're not gonna have the
Petro's Bowl. Why not the old people there? You're more
likely to have the Busk. They'll they'll get that. They'll
have the Bush Push Bowl before they have the Petrons,
the Bush Push without the old peak. Reenact the Bush Push.
(34:11):
At halftime, they'll give away a trophy of the Bush
Push to the old people. Man. Tonight we got RNL
Carrier's New Orleans Bowl. Western Kentucky led by the high
school quarterback from my freshman team, Tyson Helton versus South
Alabama m and then Thursday one. You like South Alabama
(34:34):
and that one do, although the problem is that lines
jumped down like four points. I'll tell you what I
don't like, Western Kentucky's gimmicky offense. Hey, by the way,
it wasn't South Alabama, the team that you told everybody
was going to take a bite out of Chip Kelly's ass.
Wasn't that in U c l A. You think I
think they played South Alabama that was a really close game, right, Yeah,
they won with the field goal at the very end
(34:55):
of the game. It was the third of three. Uh
non whatever they call it, that you called it, that
was gonna be a tough game. I might have so
long ago. And then we have a lockheat like that
Florida team that got their ass beat by the Beaves. Like,
remember how good they looked in the first game against
(35:15):
a really good Utah team, and they're they're forty players
down from that first game. So these Bulls are interesting.
I mean Bowls have always been interesting with guys getting
hurt or guys, uh maybe not practicing that much because
young guys are practicing. But with opt outs and the
transfer portal, it's hard to know who's playing. But some
(35:38):
of these teams, they everybody rolls out and plays like
the Beaver's the other day and other one. It's a
it's a little bit different. But Thursday we got Air
Force with my favorite running back of all time, the
white man of all white men, Brad Roberts, the offensive
player of the Year for the Air Force, Christian McCaffrey.
(36:03):
You gotta watch Brad Roberts. Brad Roberts is penetrating the
line of scrimmage like a small shank in a jail cell.
So fast after the snap, he is four yards in
like because it's that triple option, and he's basically they
call him a fullback, but he's you know, he's the
primary runner, their tailback. And he just like, oh, I
(36:25):
love his slicing, penetrating style. And he just looks like
the most unassuming white dude ever. And then uh, take
it on Baylor his picture. He's just smiling away, Brad,
don't care. Do you know what he's gonna do for
a living. At the click of the mouse, He's gonna
blow everybody up with a drone. That's that's that's what
(36:47):
That's what happens. When you talk to the Air Force
coach Jim Calhoun, Golly, Petro's I'll tell you, I wish
you could come out to Colorado Springs. Golly, some of
these young men. They could blow up an enemy with
a click of a mouse from across the globe. It
really gets you going. And the camera goes black and
(37:09):
everybody dies just at the click of a mouse from
the drone. From the drone. That's what the Air Force
is all about. Brother. Anyway, they're taking on Baylor and
Brad Roberts is so sweet in that game. You like cheesecake,
your lactose intolerant LaVar, you better not watch Brad Roberts
(37:29):
take it to Baylor. Freaking twenty carries four yards apiece.
Let's go. The cream will rise to the top. There's
what would Norm Chow say about Brad Roberts. It's pretty physical. Hey, Petros,
I was at a call with Don Martin. Uh oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
(37:51):
I hadn't heard his voice in a while. You know,
my back is a little bad, right bad? I was.
I did you know? I was out fixing stuff out
in the cold, and my wife said, come on and Don,
and I said I won't. She said, you are fifty.
You are fifty something. You are not forty. He didn't.
(38:17):
It's bad back, my neck, my neck and my back.
I broke my back spinal. I've seen a lot. I've
seen him out of spinals in my day. This guy walks, Oh, man,
(38:37):
Petro's listen, happy holidays, man, Yeah, it's get him on.
So are you guys gonna be on next week? Hell yeah,
come on, man, I'm not come on. Patro's wake up
in the desert. You don't want to come on. I
mean I could do it on the phone. Yeah, we could.
We could do that, but I don't want to. No, No,
(39:01):
I mean I'll do it, and I guess I'll go
to yoga. We'll play it by here. Yeah, you guys,
get one of your other guests. I'm gonna give you
an idea. Okay, Saturday December, you got Middle Tennessee versus
San Diego State. Love it. You get stock Still on
thee the Middle Tennessee State coach in Murphy's Boro, the
(39:24):
Blue Raiders. You get stock Still on I'll come on. Okay,
Lee's on it. Tell Lee to make a call. That's
that's not gonna we are you actually gonna make that call? Yeah,
I'm gonna make that call. Why does you guys call
Norm I'll do it. You want to talk about football?
(39:52):
He lives in the East Bay, South Bay, South Bay.
He doesn't live in Alameda. Yeah he lives. Yeah. Get
him on Twitter at the old p H and wish
I'm a happy Holidays as well. You are a funny dude. Bro.
I hope you and Willie McGinnis like like sort things
(40:15):
like I don't have I don't have a problem with anybody,
and I don't go to the club. Yeah, I could
dig it dig It's more like, yeah, hold him up,
hold him up. Oh no, BacT man. Remember I'm not
married to my mother, all right, that's yeah, and your
(40:39):
mother wife, enjoy the whiskey in the desert. I just
get some whiskey in the desert. Coming up here soon. Uh.
It's always a fun ride with called my wife mama,
you know. Yeah, yeah, every once in a while. Fox
