Speaker 1 (00:02):
Is the best of two pros and with Lamar R.
Rady Win and Jonas Knox on Box Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
How the hell we feel in here on a Wednesday morning.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
Lots going on better than the Warriors, that's for sure.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Yeah, is that so the windows closed on that we think?
Are going to go ahead and call it at this point,
close the coffin.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
The We're not going to the playoffs?

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Jonas well, I'm saying in the future, long term, I.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Mean, they're not going to move on from Steph right.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
No, he's going to be around.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
I think Draymond's got three years left. But the big
question is Klay Thompson.

Speaker 4 (00:48):
And that's the big one.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
And he did not have a great game last night.
Big Yeah, good question. Oh for ten geez, Yeah, he
was rough night. Yeah, and you wonder why he won't.
You guys gotten off to a pretty rocky start here.
I'm just going to sit back and listen to you. Hey, Coop,

(01:12):
you got the popcorn. Let's let's listen to Brady. It's disrespect.
It's flat out disrespect on somebody who's been loyal to
this show and to this network.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
For last time he showed up.

Speaker 5 (01:25):
He gave out a loser and he shows up once
every six months.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Yeah, but did she evenim credit for showing up even
after giving out a loser.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
No, No, because he hasn't showed up since.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Oh it's been less than a week. Who knows. Maybe
if there's some badminton tournament in Dubai, he'll show up
if it's going on in the middle of the show.
That's the way this stuff works. Nonetheless, the playing tournament.

Speaker 4 (01:47):
Is off and running.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
I know they don't count it as technically as the
playoffs because this is just to get into the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
But that was fun.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
At least Zion showed up until he showed a couple
of minutes left.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
Well, you got hurt, Yeah, I heard it. I think
I think he spraanked his ankle. He twisted his ankle,
and I don't think they went back far enough into
the play. They kept saying, I don't know where it happened,
and I don't know when it happened. It happened when
he started his drive. The first time he started his drive,
you could see that he rolled his ankle. He finished

(02:17):
the play, but he rolled his ankle at the top
of the play.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Do you want to know I thought you want to
know how mean people are. So Nick Wright of FS
one posts a tweet that says, anybody know what happened?

Speaker 4 (02:33):
Is ion like where he went?

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Just sort of gone with two minutes left, And there
were a couple of comments below that said, well, it
was his hamstring, you know his hamstring again, he knew
it was his hamstring, could have been his ankle, whatever
it was. And then there were some people who said
uber eats pulled up outside.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
Oh wow, undefeated, Like undefeated.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
The guy just dropped forty points against the Lakers and
he's getting fat jokes.

Speaker 4 (02:59):
I mean he looked dominant too.

Speaker 6 (03:00):
It's great.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
Yeah, he was dominant.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
He's had a great year and uh and so now
they've got to, uh, they've got to play the Sacramento
Kings to try and get into the actual playoffs to
take on the one seed, which are the Oklahoma City Thunder.
So the Lakers end up with Denver as the two seed.
They lost all three meetings to him this year, They
lost all four meetings to him in the playoffs last year.

Speaker 4 (03:22):
They'll lose most all love them again in.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
That so it does appear that that this could be
the end of the road for the Lakers after this,
after this win over New Orleans last.

Speaker 5 (03:35):
I'm not counting him out, just saying why because lebron
a d They've been there, They've done this. We make
such a big deal about the regular season. I just
I don't think it has much of a bearing on it.
I don't. I think the Golden State conversation is a
little more interesting to me only because no matter what

(03:57):
like metric you're looking at, Like forget the fact that
like you're like, oh, Clay played bad, is going to
be back? Maybe maybe not. They spent more cash. Their
luxury tax was the highest in the NBA. I mean,
they had the most expensive team this season by by
those metrics. How you'd measure them in anyone And they

(04:18):
A couldn't eve get into the playoffs and B only
got into the I guess the play in if you
called that, because you can call it playoffs.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
I'm not calling out the playoffs.

Speaker 5 (04:25):
That's like it's like the Round of you know, was
it sixty eight where you've got to play in to
get into actually March Madness tournament, Like if you have
to if you have to play rock pay per decisions
with the doorman to get in the club. Then you're
not in the club yet you have to actually beat
the doorman to get in. So they didn't even get
into the playoffs. And now they're out and who knows

(04:47):
how they're gonna have to rebuild restructure this thing. But
I don't know. It's just an expensive year for Golden
State ending up not with a whole lot. And on
top of it, the last time Golden State wasn't a
part of some of the ratings that it really struggled
for the NBA. I mean, in their ratings have struggled anyway,

(05:07):
but typically when they're not a part of it, they
struggle even more.

Speaker 4 (05:11):
Mm hmm. It's I think it's been a hell of
a run for the Lakers. I mean, I don't count
them out. I just know a healthy Warriors team they're not,
they're not. Or Nuggets healthy Nuggets team, they're not. They're
not going to beat them. As far as Golden State,
I feel like the handwriting has been on the wall

(05:31):
for Golden State for quite some time now. So as
one of those things where geez, you're a loud, super loud,
yeah lead like all up in there and I can't
really get it out. Yeah, could you hear them. C Yeah,
you could hear them, right, Yeah, it was you're super loud.
Was trying to hit the talk back. Yeah, but you
were super crazy loud, like go over the microphone loud,

(05:53):
you know, just radio voice. I mean, why you wait
till I start talking to start talking that loud on
the top. You don't do that to Brady got leeve.
Brady gave us a great point. You waited till he stopped.

Speaker 7 (06:05):
I started you Hey, so hey, lead back then leek
you up that south front? Yeah yeah, second ten, like
we good, gotta make my point, all right, go ahead,
thank you.

Speaker 6 (06:21):
Oh.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
I was talking about Golden State. I think it's it's
a lot like I think Sacramento. I think Sacramento is
is a fine Yeah, Sacramento is a fine team. And
I think that uh Zion and those guys, if Zion

(06:44):
returns back from the Uber Eats pick up her, they're
going to have their hands full trying to beat Sacramento
to get into the playoffs because they do not have
any offense outside of Zion.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
Now.

Speaker 4 (06:58):
I know that there were a few guys that didn't
show up. McCallum didn't didn't have a great, great evening,
but they just didn't look like they were a team
that could win without Zion doing pretty much everything for
them to be able to win.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Sacktown got to light the beam too.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
Last night. They was getting it in.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Now, as I mentioned, and I don't know if that
got through on the air, but we do have Steve
Kerr talking about the future State Warriors and also talking
about what their hopes are with Klay Thompson, who is
a free agent after the season.

Speaker 8 (07:32):
We've been really blessed here with some amazing players, and
you know, multiple championships and finals appearances and the highest
of highs. And this is the flip side.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
This is life.

Speaker 8 (07:43):
This is how it works. You don't you know, you
don't get to stay on top forever. So what happens
this summer and going into next year, we'll worry about
that later. He still got good, good years left and
and I know I speak for.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
Everybody in the organization. We want him back.

Speaker 8 (08:00):
Obviously, there's business at hand and that has to be
addressed with Clay's representatives and you know, Mike and Joe
and but what Clay has meant to this franchise, as
good as he still is, well, we desperately want him back.

Speaker 4 (08:14):
So that was Steve Kerr talking. He became a bench
like a six man almost right, Like he wasn't even
a starter anymore for this team. He had a down year.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
Yeah, And and he hasn't been the same since he
suffered the injuries. And that's just bad luck because he
was trying to recover from I think it was the
achilles or could have been the a cl and then
he tore the achilles practicing trying to come back for it,
and he just hasn't been the same player.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
But I can sympathize. Jeez, when something goes, other things
start to go.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
Yeah, especially coming off You're probably thinking to himself, I'm
getting closed, I'm feeling good, I'm working out again, and
the next.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
Thing, that's a good time for the blue shoe.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
Yeah, is this time for the blue shoe?

Speaker 3 (08:54):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (08:55):
Yeah, that Sometimes it gives you more confidence and and
it can make you it can keep you, you know,
heart and fresh, you know, for longer, or even just
to begin.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
With, are you guys less interested in watching the playoffs
with the Warriors out?

Speaker 4 (09:10):
No, I'm less interested period.

Speaker 5 (09:15):
I think with LeVar on this one, I'm just it's
it's not as enticing for me this year watching the teams,
I actually am more curious to see if Oklahoma State
as a one seed in the West can be.

Speaker 3 (09:36):
They're a young team.

Speaker 5 (09:38):
I don't know how many people expect them to be
there at this point at the beginning of the season.
My curiosity and watching the NBA is now about like
the next group. But to cap off the conversation about
Golden State, what's interesting is who is the guy who
left to go help out the Washington Commanders?

Speaker 3 (09:56):
Is Bob Myers? Who it is? You wonder if you
kind of saw.

Speaker 5 (10:02):
The running on the wall to some degree, But I
think when you look through, you know, the series of
years from what is it twenty was it twenty fourteen?
The first one they won twenty fifteen? I think it
was twenty fourteen twenty fifteen season, right.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
I don't recall. I know the Cavs beat them in
twenty sixteen, so.

Speaker 5 (10:22):
I saw, well, obviously the seasons go over the year, right,
So I think it's twenty fourteen twenty fifteen league if
you can fact check that. But if you look at
that run starting at that point in time, they were
I mean, I don't know that you know, I don't
know that you look at them and not think that

(10:43):
this was somewhat of a dynasty. They changed the way
teams played basketball, and outside of the COVID year where
the struggle a little bit, they kind of got right.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
Back to that.

Speaker 4 (10:52):
What's that You're correct?

Speaker 3 (10:54):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (10:54):
Okay, twenty fourteen, twenty fifteen.

Speaker 5 (10:56):
Yeah again, because I mean, you know NBA season's kind
of straddle that if you will. But they were a dynasty,
and I think if Claytons had come back when he
was a big piece of that, but that would be
the start of kind of whatever this next iteration is
with Steph Curry.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
I would assume Draymond's.

Speaker 5 (11:13):
There given us contract length, but it's it's kind of
disappointed to see how kind of fell apart. I don't
know who you point to, but you know, Bob Myers,
who was an Executive of the Year, I think for that,
you know, one of the runs, or maybe a couple
of their runs, maybe he knew when it was time
to jump ship, you know, following the COVID year, following
how they kind of been since, maybe he saw the

(11:34):
running on the wall a little bit.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
And I think the fourth one kind of clinched the
you know, they would be the dynasty, and Kevin Durant
had those years there for the last, for the second
and third.

Speaker 4 (11:44):
And uh what it is talking about right now? You
know the mics work.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
Yeah. I think he's just making sure we're ready.

Speaker 4 (11:55):
Yeah, thank you? All right, Okay we go. So you
you didn't have to stop talking, I mean, broadcast, you
should have just kept going, you know. Yeah, I just
wanted to make surely.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
But the fourth one, the fourth one they got without,
the fourth one they got without Durant, I think was
sort of the icing on top of what is a dynasty.
And it does feel like with the way Denver's progressed,
Oklahoma City's gotten a lot better. Obviously with the one
seed in the conference. I just think I wonder what

(12:27):
their strategy is as far as do we just want
to keep bringing all of these guys back? Is that
our best option? And you just hope you land on
young talent or in the draft because if you're that
fan base like you probably don't want to see these
guys go away. But it just feels like everybody's starting
to get a little bit older. And I'll say this again,
Harrison Barnes, he seems like he's been in the NBA

(12:48):
for thirty years and I still don't get how he's
thirty one years old, Like he's thick. Guy's thirty one
and he was on the first Warriors team that won
the title back in twenty fifth's around forever.

Speaker 4 (12:59):
I don't get it, and I keep looking going.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
To this aged he looks the exact same.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
Yeah, So he's on his way to to a game
against New Orleans because they won last night Sacramento did,
eliminating the Golden State Warriors in the game that wasn't
even closed. So bad times for the Warriors, but they've
had a lot of good times and we're gonna have
a good time here on this show.

Speaker 1 (13:19):

Speaker 2 (14:02):
So we've got an NFL Draft coming up next week.
I know lebar Arrington's going to be on the coverage
for that. We got a team that's picking in the
near the top of the draft at number six in
the New York Giants. We've discussed some potential of the
New York Giants maybe taking a quarterback or maybe they
just take the best available wide receiver.

Speaker 4 (14:22):
At that point.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
At that point, they're gonna have some options there. One
of the stories that's kind of making the rounds a
little bit is what's happening on the coaching staff. Brian
Daball maybe you know, rubbed some people the wrong way
last year with the way he handled certain things.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
Well.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
Their offensive coordinator Mike Kafka spoke yesterday with the media
about you know the fact that he had interviewed in
Seattle for the head coaching job. He'd also potentially talked
about wanting to be their offensive coordinator as well too,
and well welcome to New York where those sort of
details you get asked about over and over again until
you give them an answer they like.

Speaker 11 (14:58):
I don't know if that's been you know, out there
or anything. All I know is like last year is
last year, and there was a lot of things you
need to get better at, from coaches, players, everybody. We
just got to improve and so you know, I'm not
going to go too far into the past. I kind
of put that in my rear view. We've learned from it,
we've grown from it, and we're really excited about Phase one.
And today is the first day at the start.

Speaker 10 (15:19):
After you interviewed with Seattle to be their head coach,
they also requested an interview with you to be their
offensive coordinator. Why do you think the Seahawks thought you
were interested in.

Speaker 3 (15:32):
A lateral move?

Speaker 6 (15:34):
At?

Speaker 10 (15:34):
Were you interested in making a lateral move to somebody
else's O safe?

Speaker 11 (15:39):
I must have did a good job, but no, I
mean it was a great It was a great opportunity there.
I love the people there, Jody John. It was a
great experience, but that's what it was. It was a
great experience. I can carry that over into the future.

Speaker 10 (15:52):
So were you interested in lateral moves or only in
the Giants.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
So no, I'm here. I'm excited to be here with
the giants.

Speaker 4 (15:59):
Man, love New York.

Speaker 3 (16:02):
There's always drama.

Speaker 4 (16:04):
I wonder what that dude who asked a question looks like, man,
that was that AI Artificial intelligence?

Speaker 6 (16:12):
Man.

Speaker 5 (16:12):
I just I've read an article about how AI girlfriends
are going to become a thing of the future, and
it's like a one billion dollar industry.

Speaker 4 (16:22):
Kid.

Speaker 5 (16:23):
Yeah, guys are just gonna come home and they're gonna
have their little AI girlfriends that they look the way
they wanted to look, They talked to them the way
they want to talk to them, all that, Yeah, to comfort.

Speaker 4 (16:33):
Them a real person. No, no, no, oh oh, the comfort them.
I got you, I got you AI. Well, I mean
the AI could have been like, you know, kind of
installed in like box power. Yeah, right there you go.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
Would be expensive.

Speaker 4 (16:50):
These guys, you said, look the way that you want
them to, and they'll.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
Just ye, they'll be on a screen, you can see them.
It's already happening. Now there's AI models now for stuff.

Speaker 4 (16:58):
Hey, bru, that is creepy. If that if that's what
you're into, you're a creeper, like you're creepy.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
It makes all those guys who have bought blow up
dolls feel better about themselves.

Speaker 4 (17:10):
I mean, that's there's definitely more of a qualification. I
got to do some work and blow this thing up.

Speaker 3 (17:15):
You know.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
I'm just saying, like there's an air valve there, it's
not gonna do it itself. So I've got to put
this thing together. At least it's tangible. Yeah, you know,
you could talk to the blow up and you could
throw it in the pool afterwards when you're done and float.
I get it multi purpose. But you're sitting there looking
at a screen. I go to an adult film, like,

(17:38):
go to an adult site.

Speaker 4 (17:40):
What are you doing? Get a screed? She's going to
talk to me. What you got problems? Man? Whoever you
are out there, you're using it. You got Yes, I'm
judging you should I'm judging you strange man, letting you
know weird stuff out there. I hope none of y'all
on this show do it. But if you, if you do,

(18:01):
you don't have to admit it to me. But you're
you're you're strange. Yeah, I'm just saying with love and respect,
but I mean, keep listening. I'm talking to one of y'all.
If it's you Q or Lee or Eddie, you know, Lorena,
if any of y'all doing that, you're weird, Just letting
you know I'm judging you.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Yeah, okay, well you see the truck I drive.

Speaker 4 (18:22):
Yeah, so it's possible. No more likely. Uh yeah, you're
not that events more likely I'm blowing it up than
I am looking at a screen.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
You know, a little bit outdated in my parts now,
all of that people.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
Understood blow up dolls either because they look so much
like a blow up doll. Like it's like you're you're sick.
You're you're not just weird, you're sick in the head
if you're using a blow up doll. Just letting you know.
I'm in a judgmental mood right now. I'm just I'm
just saying.

Speaker 5 (18:52):
I know some people that would put it in their
passenger seat so they could drive in the UH, in.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
The HOV like multiple purposes. You can't put understand that.

Speaker 3 (19:03):
Yeah, you know, I didn't understand that. The same person
who told me they did that, they put a seatbelt
on it. Like what does the matter for a seatbelt
on it?

Speaker 4 (19:11):
It's you got to say, this guy you've got to
look the part like you're trying to draft safely. Right. Well,
the point is not to get pulled over. You could
about to say you could get so the CoP's gonna
see that doesn't have a get pulled over?

Speaker 3 (19:25):
Are you aware you're driving in the carpool lane?

Speaker 6 (19:28):
We've got a Hey.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
I don't know if anybody else will be out for this,
but you know we are. People are listening to us
that work with law enforcement. If you are somebody listening
to this, and you've pulled over somebody who had a
blow up doll in the passenger seat, please call it,
Please do call it. Would you be open for that?
Would you guys be open.

Speaker 4 (19:46):
For a phone call? Cop? Please call it? Please because
I want to hear how weird weird? All right?

Speaker 2 (19:54):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six six three six nine. That's eight seven
seven nine nine six six three sixty nine. If you
are a police officer and you have pulled over somebody
you had a blow up doll in the passenger seat,
all right.

Speaker 4 (20:11):
For you? I hope you arrested them.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
Which one both yeah, because they have a seatpot one
they're getting cuffs to pop the pop the blow up doll.

Speaker 12 (20:23):
I hope you pop the blow up doll plated. It
just tazing to see what happened. I hope you tasted
the blow up doll. And then on the ground, I
was about to say something real. I was about to
get canceled. I was about to get canceled. I'm glad
I didn't say it. I sit in my head. It

(20:44):
was funny as hell too. I didn't say it. I'm
glad that I censored myself. Somebody really called in too.
Holy smokes.

Speaker 2 (20:53):
And that's uh. And so that'll uh, that'll wrap up
our coverage of Mike Kafka and the UH two coordinator.

Speaker 3 (21:01):
Yeah, I forgot we were talking about that for a second.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
It does appear that Brian day Ball has, you know,
got some work to repair the coaching staff there, because
it feels like he pissed a lot of people off
last year, which is unfortunate because dump truck nuts Brian
day Ball the year before Coach of the Year cooking. Yeah,
the next thing, you know, he pisses off Wink Martindale
and you know, there's all sorts of stuff that's come

(21:29):
out now.

Speaker 4 (21:30):
So now Mike Kafka.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
It is interesting though, that he would interview to be
a head coach and then be like, well, I didn't
get that. I mean, I'll take the other one if
you guys are hiring for that one, and the Giants
are like, now, we're gonna go ahead and keep you back.
So I don't know if if he was that excited
to get the hell out of there or what, or
maybe he saw the situation being better for him and
his family. But nonetheless, Mike Kafka is back in New

(21:55):
York and potentially going to work with Daniel Jones and
his Swan song as a Giant quarterback. That damn nify man.

Speaker 5 (22:03):
If they don't take a quarterback in this draft, do
you kind of look at this year as a lame duck.

Speaker 3 (22:09):
Year for the Giants?

Speaker 5 (22:10):
I mean, even if they go with wide receiver and
a playmaker, do you just kind of look at it
and go, look, what's there to be excited about?

Speaker 4 (22:17):
I mean, when you said brock Bauers, I got excited.
I think it depended on the tight end, right, is
that the tight end.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
Did the potential of them drafting wall Man.

Speaker 4 (22:29):
When you said that, I got excited about that.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
I ain't really it doesn't matter who their quarterback.

Speaker 4 (22:35):
Is well, because you can eventually get a quarterback. That's
that's I think this is a lame duck year either way. Really,
whether they take one in the in the draft or not,
it's a lame duck year. And it's a year for
that that rookie to kind of get acclimated to the league.
So I almost look like it's a lame duck year

(22:55):
one way or the other. I don't. I don't have
high expectations for the Giants this year. I don't.

Speaker 3 (23:02):
It's kind of sad.

Speaker 5 (23:03):
I mean, I just you know, everyone talks at the
beginning of the year they're getting training camp, like we're
gonna do it.

Speaker 3 (23:08):
This is the year, boys, We're gonna win a Super Bowl.
This is our year.

Speaker 4 (23:12):
Man.

Speaker 3 (23:13):
No one else matters but us, Us against the world. Man.
No one believes but us.

Speaker 4 (23:17):
I will Bungee Cord out of the good Year Blimp
at the fifty yard line at halftime if the Washington
Ours are in the Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (23:26):
I don't even want you to do.

Speaker 4 (23:27):
That, bro. Do you hear what I'm telling you? John
Mattens was afraid of heights. That man told me in
a preseason meeting that.

Speaker 3 (23:39):
How did you respond to that?

Speaker 4 (23:41):
I was like, well, we're going to prove you wrong, coach.
I get where you're coming from. How far into the
season before you were like.

Speaker 5 (23:48):
Did he say that to you? Or did you say like, well,
we're gonna prove you wrong, coach?

Speaker 3 (23:53):
And he was like this has such like what he
did in return?

Speaker 4 (24:02):
All I know is he looked at me like, son,
you haven't lived enough life. If you're saying to me
right now that you think your team is going to
the super Bowl, you haven't, You just yeah, you haven't
lived enough life. So there you go. And he was right.
I don't even remember what year it was, but I

(24:24):
was always getting into it with people. I called out
John Lenno one time. Jay jay Leno, he says, he
was making jokes on you know how they make their jokes,
going into like segments and stuff, and he made us
a punchline to one of his jokes. I said, come
bring bring Jay Leno to Redskins Well that's known as
Redskins Park back well, the story is the story. The

(24:45):
story is the story. So it was Redskins Park back then.
I said, bringing the Redskins Park.

Speaker 2 (24:52):
Call the cops.

Speaker 4 (24:56):
That's all still mother dressed that mother after up and
in a uniform, and let's do some Oklahoma's. I want
to do someone on ones with Jay Leno, like I
want to f him up, like sit it just like that.
And he called me. He called me and apologized. Yeah, ok, Jame,

(25:18):
how would that have gone? I don't know.

Speaker 3 (25:21):
I was speaking big head. Dude's got a big head.

Speaker 4 (25:24):
He does have a big head.

Speaker 3 (25:25):
He's got a huge head.

Speaker 4 (25:27):
Yeah, he's got a big Was this before his car explosion?

Speaker 2 (25:30):
Oh yeah, that's ready did burn right? Yeah, his face
got completely like melted off.

Speaker 4 (25:34):
Yeah it would have been before then.

Speaker 3 (25:36):
Yeah, it's a while ago then, huh.

Speaker 4 (25:37):
Yeah when did he blow his face up? How do
we know?

Speaker 3 (25:42):
LeVar wasn't involved in that.

Speaker 4 (25:44):
I had nothing to do with that. I had no
no connection to that at all. Yeah, no, I wasn't
in on that, but I would have did Oklahoma drills
with him. Jonas is actually looking up. How big is
jay Leno's.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
No, I mean it's well, his head's probably five eleven too,
but yeah, five eleven.

Speaker 4 (26:04):
I don't see a.

Speaker 2 (26:05):
Wait listed, but yeah, I would think five eleven. You
could probably light him up.

Speaker 4 (26:08):
Yeah, i'd light him up. I mean I would have.
I would have took him down. Even if he was
bigger than that, I would have took him down. You
guys ended up good term, so we did. Yeah. Never
heard from him again after. I was like, yeah, it's
all good man, We're good. Never heard from him again.
I thought we were friends after that. I had him
saved in my phone and everything really underfriendle friend he

(26:30):
called me. Yeah, I threatened him. Why would we be friends?
I don't know how many? Then?

Speaker 2 (26:41):
Do you think there's any any players that are like
at these voluntary workouts right now that are looking.

Speaker 4 (26:46):
Around, gone, why the am I here?

Speaker 3 (26:50):
Well?

Speaker 2 (26:51):
That and A this ain't gonna be like the thing
is that this early?

Speaker 4 (26:56):
Is it?

Speaker 2 (26:57):
This early in the off season, they you can notice
we we're gonna have a I don't think so, but
I would.

Speaker 5 (27:04):
I would say, when you've been to enough places, you
recognize when teams are really really good.

Speaker 4 (27:10):
Oh yeah, you know when they're good.

Speaker 5 (27:12):
Though, what I'm saying, like in this time of year,
Like when I got to Seattle with in twenty.

Speaker 3 (27:17):
Thirteen, I was like, dang, this is the best team ever.

Speaker 4 (27:21):
But that's true.

Speaker 5 (27:22):
And I was like, I mean, I've been on a
team that'd been in the playoffs, but I was like, man,
this is this feels like that team, but like everyone's
there's depth, there's everything.

Speaker 3 (27:31):
I mean, guys fighting just to make the roster that
you knew would be starters elsewhere. And that happened, so
that was jobous.

Speaker 5 (27:39):
They went on to win the Super Bowl, which I
was like, all right, I guess that's kind of true.

Speaker 3 (27:43):
But I feel like you can tell.

Speaker 4 (27:45):
What can you tell if you're bad? I know, if
you can tell if you're good. Can you tell if
you're bad?

Speaker 3 (27:50):
Oh? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (27:51):
I mean again in retrospect, looking back, like every time
I was with a team after that, I was like, oh.

Speaker 3 (27:57):
That's it. This isn't gonna be good.

Speaker 5 (27:59):
It's like you can tell from Here's the thing is
I've been I had been so many places at that
point I could walk in and get a general sense
for like, is the front office on the same page.
Is the coaching staff in the front office on the
same page?

Speaker 3 (28:16):
You know?

Speaker 5 (28:16):
How is the offense and the defense you know kind
of working you know, separately, but together, Like you could
get a sense for all of that, or they're not.

Speaker 4 (28:24):
Clicked organization, Like what the the.

Speaker 5 (28:29):
First, the first thing that you could feel there was
there was a disconnect between you know, Rex Ryan and
John Izig. And then the longer you're there, you're kind
of like, okay, it just it felt like that the
players felt that too, and you know that. That's that's
why I always speak to like an organization and ownership

(28:49):
because if I can feel that as a player who
just got there, and you talk to some other players
and they obviously feel that they see it, then how
does the owner not? And so if the owner knew
that that kind of stuff was going on, you have
to address it. And you've got to get a front
office or a general manager and a head coach to
get on the same page.

Speaker 3 (29:07):
If they can't work together, move on, like there's no way.

Speaker 5 (29:10):
At that point in the year you get to drag
that situation into into a season, like you should have
made that change before the OTAs and off season even started.
And so that's that's all I would always point to,
is like it starts with ownership because you've got to
be able to have a sense for what's going on

(29:32):
beneath you, and you're the only one who can ultimately
fix it, because I mean, most guys are pretty stubborn.
Most guys, even if they're successful, they're gon be really stubborn.
And you got to be the one to ultimately see
and say this isn't working. We're gonna change to go
a different direction. Bring other people in here who can
get this thing to work.

Speaker 2 (29:46):
Meanwhile, there's probably fans of that team that you were
with that are like, now this is the year, this
is going to be the year.

Speaker 4 (29:52):
You could just pull them.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
Aside and be like, no, it ain't that's not trust me.
I've walked in the building, I've seen it.

Speaker 4 (29:58):
So we will.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
We will keep and monitor the giants OC situation. There
By the way, Lee, I know the phones rang.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
Did we get a somebody from the police department call
uh with it with a story about pulling over somebody
who had a blow up doll in the passenger seat,
or or maybe they're afraid to give out their name
on the air because they don't want to get in trouble.
Yeah no, no, luck with U with a real officer
didn't pass the So people were calling trying to pretend

(30:27):
to be officers, and you could sniff them out if
they weren't really sniff them out.

Speaker 4 (30:30):
Oh yeah, you ain't no police.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
Uh yeah, good luck getting through, good luck getting to
the phones. It is two Pros and a Cup of
Joe here on LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonasnoux with you.
So coming up next here from the tiraq dot Com studios,
we are going to have a conversation.

Speaker 4 (30:51):
Along with this. One could be a real one, could
be this could be a real police officer calling now.
No now, because you could probably here, no go to
break probably here. Uh, somebody's gonna get on air and
say just act bad. We're gonna have to totally dump
them out.

Speaker 2 (31:09):
It's probably todd pretending to be a cop. Somebody got nothing,
leave no dice, militia on the line. They no cops,
definitely not. I know copre the people. Cops pull over,
I know cops. You ain't no cop.

Speaker 1 (31:25):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Arrington and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
Right now the old pe Petros Papadegas the Coast of
the Petros and Money Show, which you can hear on
the Blowtorch Am five to seventy l a sports a
Fox college football analyst, and a man who is fired
up because he's got Lakers fever, Lebron and ad get
it done. And they've got the Denver Nuggets in a round. Yeah,

(31:56):
come on, Pee, Good morning, Petros.

Speaker 6 (31:58):
Good morning, everybody.

Speaker 4 (31:59):
Good morning?

Speaker 6 (32:00):
Fired up?

Speaker 4 (32:01):
Pe?

Speaker 6 (32:01):
No, not really, how you doing?

Speaker 13 (32:06):
I'm fired up for another one of the most competitive
sweeps of all time.

Speaker 4 (32:10):
Right, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (32:12):
You don't think they can go on a run here?

Speaker 13 (32:13):
Isn't what that guy Windhorse said last year after they
got swept by the Nuggets. Well, this was one of
the most competitive sweeps I've ever seen. Competitive sweep oxymoron,
damn it. I just spilled my coffee, son of a bitch.

Speaker 3 (32:30):
Is it hot or ice coffee? What kind of coffee
were drinking?

Speaker 4 (32:33):
Spilled coffee? Now?

Speaker 6 (32:34):
Yeah, it's on the floor now, Brady.

Speaker 4 (32:36):
Floor coffee?

Speaker 3 (32:37):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (32:38):
Was it? Was it instant or was it? Did you?
Did you press it?

Speaker 6 (32:42):
It was your line of questioning that made me spill it. Yeah,
all right, Look.

Speaker 13 (32:46):
I'm not that into the Lakers versus the Nuggets. If
they win a couple of games, then okay, and we'll talk.

Speaker 6 (32:53):
And I don't know I might have to.

Speaker 5 (32:55):
If the king goes on a playoff run crowning himself
and tell all kinds of fallacies and reading the first
two pages of a book, I think I might have
to go on vacation.

Speaker 4 (33:09):
You're not going to give them as props if he wins.

Speaker 13 (33:12):
Yeah, come on, Petros, Sure, I'll let somebody else do it.

Speaker 4 (33:16):
Oh, twenty of people give Lebron as problem. That is
very true.

Speaker 13 (33:21):
What a wonderful person. I'm so glad he's in southern California,
moving his children from private school to private school and
trying to control our aau world.

Speaker 4 (33:30):
I mean, that's the American dream, it sure is.

Speaker 13 (33:32):
I'm happy he's here renting the Lakers, renting them, leasing
the Lakers, finding a team that's one of the most
iconic brands in the history of sport, and bullying their
weak ownership into acquiescence to all of his needs. Now,
let's say they do get beaten by the Nuggets, which
is what's supposed to happen. That's what happened last year.

(33:55):
It's what's happened perennially. Lebron is they had their championship
in the bubble, but everything else like they've not even
been competitive in the Pacific Division. They were last in
the Pacific Division this year last And it was a
little weird last night, right to see like the two
kings of the NBA, the two guys that have made

(34:17):
the NBA what it is right now, if you like
it or not, Steph Curry and Lebron playing in the
play in and all of the great players and stuff
are like young dudes. All the teams that are really
good are young guys just waiting for these old heads
to get beat up and try to make it there.

Speaker 6 (34:35):
That's kind of odd, felt the little backwards.

Speaker 13 (34:37):
But whatever, Yes, NBA talk, the Lakers have won, and man,
they're going to take on those Nuggets and there might
be a competitive sweep.

Speaker 6 (34:46):
I can't wait to hear.

Speaker 13 (34:48):
What's that skinny nose guy on TV that that's like
a Lebron propaganda arm?

Speaker 4 (34:52):
Oh right, yeah, what him?

Speaker 13 (34:56):
And you know the fat guy in Ohio?

Speaker 6 (35:00):
Did you describe a good propaganda arm?

Speaker 2 (35:03):
No skins?

Speaker 4 (35:08):
Like, oh damn, I'm sorry, damn.

Speaker 13 (35:16):
I'm not on one of those like hot opinion shows.
You know my opinion is not hot enough.

Speaker 2 (35:21):
Ah Petros. I am wondering though, if you had if
you had to predict.

Speaker 6 (35:27):
Am I not allowed to say that about that guy?

Speaker 3 (35:29):
Something wrong?

Speaker 6 (35:32):
That's your boy, Brady.

Speaker 3 (35:34):
I just I never know where you're gonna go. It's
my favorite part of that. Can we? Can we do
this because I want as much time with you as possible?
Can we? I don't want to do the be news?
Can we just have petros on for the next segment? Dude?

Speaker 13 (35:45):
I have to do the actual news. Yeah, I have
to do for I've been I want extra money in
the UFL.

Speaker 6 (35:54):
They won't hire me Fox to do the UFL.

Speaker 4 (35:57):
It's hilarious. I want money money, so.

Speaker 13 (36:00):
I do the news in the morning. I fill in
on Bill Handle's show.

Speaker 3 (36:06):
Time.

Speaker 6 (36:07):
I'll go today, probably from six to as long as
they want to keep me. Okay, but from at least
the seventh thirds.

Speaker 3 (36:13):
Could you be with us at least for a last can.

Speaker 6 (36:16):
You be with us?

Speaker 13 (36:16):
I got to study my news stories. Look, I have
a whistleblower, urges Boeing to ground all seven eight seven
Dreamliners after safety warning.

Speaker 6 (36:25):
I saw.

Speaker 3 (36:27):
What's your opinion on that?

Speaker 6 (36:28):
Seven jers seated? We're onto the next story.

Speaker 13 (36:31):
Third story, half of Irani and missiles launched in Israel,
where duds House delivers impeachment articles against may Orcist. I
got to figure out who that is.

Speaker 2 (36:40):
Wait, Petro lead to lap as another potential candidate for
your news story that you've got to do with handle
coming up.

Speaker 4 (36:49):
Oh yeah, the Disneyland expansion. I'm sure you're hot on that.

Speaker 13 (36:52):
Yes, we do have that. They want to they want
to expand. Well, that is an interesting thing, right, because Disneyland.

Speaker 6 (36:59):
Is in a city yeah, land locked.

Speaker 13 (37:01):
Well yeah, it's been developed all the way around, right,
you got the Magic Castle over there and all kinds
of crap that it's more, even more depressing than Disneyland.

Speaker 3 (37:09):
Yep.

Speaker 6 (37:10):
And Disneyland is depressing, yep. Don't don't be mistaken.

Speaker 13 (37:14):
Whenever there's a sign that says the happiest place on Earth,
beware my ass.

Speaker 6 (37:18):
Yeah, honestly beware.

Speaker 3 (37:20):
Go with your kids there. Tell me your parents there.

Speaker 4 (37:22):
Are It's disney World. It's like Disneyland is like the
cheap knockoff of Disney.

Speaker 13 (37:27):
Well, no, because Disneyland was first, and Disneyland is where
Walt Disney built his kingdom and when Disneyland was his vision.

Speaker 6 (37:35):
All right with you East Coast weirdos, I'm just telling
you Disneyland is the true version, knockoff version. How could
it be a knockoff version of it?

Speaker 3 (37:42):
Was?

Speaker 4 (37:43):
First, I get that, I get where you're coming.

Speaker 3 (37:45):
To score docks.

Speaker 5 (37:47):
The initial playoff will hide they say, just stopped Moregon
and the Pack twelve looks soft?

Speaker 3 (37:53):
Is that we're.

Speaker 13 (37:53):
Going to do with the college football playoffs? And don't
try to.

Speaker 3 (37:56):
Do twenty fourteen.

Speaker 5 (37:57):
Petro's papada against the Avocado rubened Fox Sports.

Speaker 3 (38:01):
He couldn't take it.

Speaker 5 (38:02):
He couldn't take it the Pack trop because the patdroves
gonna look soft.

Speaker 6 (38:04):
They're gonna look soft, and they did. Ye was I wrong?
I drove it from the desert to watch that.

Speaker 3 (38:14):
It ran through everyone I came. Is terrible.

Speaker 13 (38:17):
But uh no, you're trying to say that Disneyland is
like Gobots and disney World is like Transformer.

Speaker 6 (38:26):
Yes, cors like, look, we'll do this so much better.

Speaker 4 (38:29):
Yeah, I mean yeah, well because they have land. They
have land, yeah, and they've done very well with it.

Speaker 6 (38:35):
But I will say this, I mean I hate Disneyland.

Speaker 3 (38:37):
I hate it.

Speaker 6 (38:38):
I never liked it.

Speaker 13 (38:39):
I hate everything you know that I do like knots,
very farm Disneyland. Uh I went, I took my kids
for one of their birthdays, and you know they did
they built a droid or whatever in the Droid building factory.
We have to make an appointment, and uh we went
to the Star Wars place.

Speaker 6 (38:58):
And that thing is damn cool. Like they did a
really great job with that, you know.

Speaker 13 (39:04):
I mean where every you know, the kids yell at
like the Imperial Guards and they look.

Speaker 6 (39:07):
Over and like settled down.

Speaker 2 (39:11):
Right.

Speaker 6 (39:11):
They do a really good job.

Speaker 13 (39:12):
And so that, you know, I hate to be rarely positive,
but I will say that that that part of they
did a really cool.

Speaker 4 (39:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (39:17):
And then you see some guy in his fort he's
walking around that Chewbacca back.

Speaker 6 (39:21):
Oh, I can't take it. Come on.

Speaker 13 (39:22):
And then they have these clubs We've talked about the clubs,
you know, like uh, Geppetto's Raiders, you know, and they
all wear like they have like social clubs. And these
dorks that wear like vests like they're in a biker
gang and they walk around Disneyland in that way. We
made up one of our own, but we have never
had the vest made.

Speaker 6 (39:42):
We're the real.

Speaker 4 (39:42):
Boys, that's what it's called. We're the real boys. You know.
Some people might take that the wrong way.

Speaker 6 (39:50):
Take it that way.

Speaker 4 (39:52):
You want to.

Speaker 6 (39:54):
Get in your bag.

Speaker 4 (39:58):
Stand on business. Yeah, the real boy, Hey, real.

Speaker 13 (40:03):
Boys running main street pitch, don't set trip around the
corn dog stand.

Speaker 2 (40:14):
Petres, I have to ask you. Let's just say this
does turn into a competitive sweep and Lebron and the
Lakers are down three zip.

Speaker 6 (40:24):
Oh, Vick will predict the sweep four games in a row.

Speaker 2 (40:28):
Well, I'm also wondering, like, how far into the sweep
does Lebron James develop a mysterious limb? Oh, you're right,
Like when does that happen? Is like down two oh?
Down three to oh?

Speaker 3 (40:41):
He says, groin injuries over the years, Right, is that
the biggest issue? Right?

Speaker 13 (40:44):
What was the issue when he was in like that
the suit with the shorts and picked up his briefcase
and walked away.

Speaker 2 (40:51):
Oh his hand like yeah, yeah, he had his hand
in a Yeah it was his hand. Yeah, his hand
was the issue.

Speaker 13 (40:57):
Then from the mutual masturbation of his legacy, tang dang
is that it's hard to live. It's hard to get
nailed by the King in l A every day. It's hard.
When he came to l A, it really sucked. I
wish he would have stayed somewhere else.

Speaker 4 (41:16):
Petros is on one today.

Speaker 13 (41:18):
You guys started with the Lebron stuff. Lebron bugs me,
Kobe used to bug me. And now it's like it's
like having a dictator. You know, it's like, God, I
like that dictator before Lebron. Geez, missam geez. Where do
you get your material for? Like do you sit around
and think about, like how how does this come out

(41:39):
of you?

Speaker 4 (41:39):
Petros?

Speaker 6 (41:40):
I don't know. I do the job.

Speaker 5 (41:46):
You just do the job it comes out of you
know if you listen before, yes, I.

Speaker 4 (41:51):
Had, but I'm just saying, where does it come from?

Speaker 3 (41:53):
Though?

Speaker 4 (41:54):
Like you don't like it's all new, It's like it's.

Speaker 5 (41:59):
Pets will think I'm blowing smoke. He's like a renaissance man.
He really is super knowledgeable about a vast array of
topics and things.

Speaker 2 (42:08):
Great point, chack of all trades, a master of none.

Speaker 13 (42:13):
But you know, look, I can't as smart as I am.
I can't get I can't get one UFL game in
twenty twenty.

Speaker 4 (42:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (42:20):
But you know what though, like you gotta listen and
no disrespect anybody calling UFL games. They can't break down
which statues have the best puzzos across the country and
you can't.

Speaker 13 (42:32):
Yeah, and if your name's Jake, but you should have
some knowledge, geez.

Speaker 2 (42:38):
You should be a puzzo insider.

Speaker 6 (42:41):
A really a real insider.

Speaker 4 (42:44):
Wow.

Speaker 13 (42:45):
So what else do you guys want to talk about
Brandy on the spring game? I'm sorry, you know what,
I gotta be honest, Like I used to do the
job for real and really like travel. Fox used to
pay me to pay for me to travel all over
as many packed twelve schools as I could to see.

Speaker 6 (43:03):
Spring practice and all that.

Speaker 13 (43:05):
And I used to pay close attention and watch the
televised spring games and try to like really stay up
on it. And I don't know what it was, maybe
four years ago, even before the transfer portal when they
started playing freshmen like a lot. You know, Uh, it
just doesn't it's it doesn't help me do the job
to pay attention to what people are doing in the

(43:27):
spring anymore.

Speaker 6 (43:28):
You know what's crazy about because the team's changed so dramatically,
you know.

Speaker 5 (43:32):
They they changed, but even then, they're so concerned about
a player getting injured. And I know that's always been
the case, right, I mean this goes back to you know,
LeVar and Patrick, you guys playing and like.

Speaker 6 (43:43):
There was always game used to literally be water again.
It was a yeah, yeah, there was a mile of mine.
Oh god, well except for the.

Speaker 13 (43:51):
Quarterback didn't get hurt, right, I mean, somebody else's full death.

Speaker 3 (43:55):
But I recall like.

Speaker 5 (43:56):
We would always have a few guys that like they
would play a few plays, but not like the whole thing,
you know, like they would try to protect them in some.

Speaker 4 (44:02):
Way, and nowadays, not like your game.

Speaker 3 (44:04):
I talked to one of the coaches and this is
I'm not gonna say who it was. I'll put it
this way.

Speaker 5 (44:09):
The player just got there and I go, how much
is he gonna play? He's like, oh, he's getting the
star treatment. He's very gonna play. I'm like, are you serious.
I mean it's his first spring game, like it's his
first chance in Columbus. And they're like no, no, no, no,
too good, can't risk injury. I'm like, all right, it's
different nowadays.

Speaker 13 (44:27):
And Fox is going to play the Michigan spring game
this weekend. This weekend with Joel Brady did the Ohio
State and of course, you know we air these things.
I'm sure it's in the deal or whatever, but it
is interesting how spring football used to be like bring
your lunch, pale and let's go to war, And now
it just seems like an interesting precursor to the transfer portal,

(44:49):
where you're half asking a team that won't even be
there in the fall most likely, and every team is
different and in the midst of different circumstances. But it
just doesn't help me do the job to pay attention
to what anybody's doing in the spring.

Speaker 6 (45:03):
I mean, don't even come out till July.

Speaker 5 (45:06):
I was asking you quickly about Colorado just because I
know we've we've talked about their strategy and coach Prime.
But they will literally have an entirely new starting offensive line.
The last year's offensive line gone all the portal transfer out.
They got a whole new group coming in, Like is
this can this be successful?

Speaker 10 (45:25):
Like?

Speaker 3 (45:25):
Is this gonna work?

Speaker 13 (45:26):
Like I've never seen anybody. Have you ever seen anybody
successful with an offensive line?

Speaker 6 (45:32):
Would they run it like a summer camp?

Speaker 3 (45:34):
No?

Speaker 13 (45:35):
No, right, I mean, but I saw the guy that
there's some of the names that transferred. One of the
guys was a started four games at O line later
in the year because of an injury. The other one
was a guy who came started ten games, was their
starting right tackle. He came from Kent State, so right,
he would have come with Sean Lewis, who they treated
very poorly. Dion did and now he's the head coach

(45:57):
at San Diego State. So you know, circumstantially, you look
at all these guys and you kind of say, yeah,
I can see why he transferred, and I could see
why they had him in there in the first place.
One's from Old Dominion, the other one, oh line wise,
was from Camp.

Speaker 3 (46:10):
But they were also guys they recruited to come in there. Right.
Once it didn't work out, they're out.

Speaker 13 (46:15):
Yeah, the cornerback, the whole deal. The problem is, you know,
the wider view, you can't change out your offensive line
every year and expect to have any kind of success.
You look at the teams that are good. You look
at the teams that compete every year. Usually their offensive
line has been together for years, and they'd plug in
a guard with a transfer or a young player, and

(46:37):
they have a swing guy that comes in and can
play you know, both guards, maybe center.

Speaker 6 (46:43):
That's the sign of a healthy offensive line.

Speaker 13 (46:45):
Transferring them all out and bringing them all in every year,
it kind of feels like you're chasing your money at
a casino at three in the morning with wild eyes
sprinting to the ATM.

Speaker 2 (46:55):
Well, listen, Pee, I got another story for you that
you can look into if you want to throw it
