Speaker 4 (02:10):
Everything is beautiful here man, you know, coming off a
big win last night, little man getting his first taste

and doing this thing and getting off the field healthy.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Man.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
So everything is beautiful, and hey man, this is the
start of college football. Man, it's the start of the
real season. And I'm sitting here getting ready to watch
if what the Nippy Lions are going to do in
Morgantown today.

Speaker 5 (02:37):
Me too, I want to see it too. I'm excited
to see what they do. But this is a great test.
I mean, you go on the road, it's a hostile environment.
We're familiar, we're border we're border brothers.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
You know what I mean. So you know, we know
about West Virginia.

Speaker 5 (02:51):
West Virginia knows about PA and you know, this is
year two and they gave us a game last year
as well in Happy Valley. So it'll be interesting to see.
And let's talk about it. I mean, let's let's get
into it. It is college football. It is a Saturday.
It's the first.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Opening, the big, the big opening of football Saturday.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (03:08):
But there were some games this week, guys, and and
none bigger than our guy, coach Prime at Colorado. They
took on North Dakota State and it was a game.
I mean, North Dakota gave them, gave them a game.
There there were some some question marks in terms of
what what Colorado football will look like this year, what

(03:32):
they could or you know, expect to be guys, what
what what? What was your grade? How did you feel
about the the previewing and the premiering of Travis Hunter,
Shador Sanders, Colorado's and and and what they brought to.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
The table individually?

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Chador played great, Travis Hunter played great, Jimmy Horn played great.
M H though those three players offensively were unna they
were unbelievable. Unbelievable. I'll say this though, they Colorado must
be better if they have any chance this season, unless

(04:12):
unless North Dakota State is just they're really that.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
It's their FCS.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
And when I and I say that with all respect,
meaning if you are going to compete at a high
level in the Big twelve, you can't struggle with an
FCS team, no disrespect, you can't struggle with them. You
gotta put them in their place and let them know,
like y'all good where y'all playing at, But this here
is a different level in their place.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
And I didn't see that.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
Defensively, North Dakota State pretty much ran the ball. It
will they want, they ran the ball it will. And
so unless Colorado figures out how to play together as
a team defensively, we gotta stand our gaps do my job.
Let me do my job, and if we all have
that mentality, we'll get things done. But from the game

(05:06):
that I watched, they must play better because Travis Cunner
ain't gonna play.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Like that every game.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
Shador not gonna play like that every game, Jimmy or
not gonna play like that every game. And if they do,
when you go against better teams, it not be enough.
It may not be enough. Defensively, they played fine, they
didn't stop the run. And then at the end of
the game, like I promise you, they were playing like
we play Madden.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
I'm Pat Staddon, let me get some just run the ball,
and they got a first down, they.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
Could take a knee, like you really go throw the ball.
I couldn't believe it. And so yeah, you won. But
if you want to be better than what you were
last year, things gotta change, and they gotta change fast.

Speaker 4 (05:55):
I mean, what are we really expecting from the Colorado
State Teamlo Colorado team?

Speaker 2 (06:01):
You know?

Speaker 4 (06:01):
I mean, what's their identity? We don't know. I mean
we know they have Shador and Travis Hunter. I mean
Chador goes out and I mean he throws for four
hundred and forty forty five yards on twenty six completion.
But yeah, but from a from a defensive standpoint, it's
like you say, man, if they can't slow down a
North Dakota State football team in the run game, then

(06:24):
they're gonna have trouble in the conference. So we really
don't know what to expect from Colorado moving forward. And
I really don't even understand why why Dion was so upset.
I don't I don't understand. What's first the first game
of the year, and you're gonna have to be able
to make adjustments on the fly, especially during the first
game of the year, because you really don't know what

(06:45):
you're working with until you put this team out there
on the football field. So they wanted to play great.
Travis Hunter is listen, this kid's gonna be a star
because if he can go out there and play both
sides of the both sides of the field, and really
and have an impact the way that he's having, man,
may he may be the best college football player in all.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Of college Go ahead, I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 (07:12):
If he keeps on going the way that he's going,
I mean, we're gonna be talking about this man being
one of a Heisman candidate real soon at somebody.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
We're going to talk about that yet.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
But they cannot just sit there and rely on Shador
and Travis Hunter, even though how great they are, for
them to go out and compete like that every weekend,
because it's not going to happen. They're going to have
to be able to play defense in this conference if
they want to compete to win football games.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
Here's what I'll say.

Speaker 5 (07:42):
While Shador Sanders had a well of a game, he
delivered the ball when he needed to. He delivered the
ball under durest. He was getting hit on some of
his biggest plays. He was getting hit on, you know,
and he's delivering the ball. He stood in there and
was dropping dimes on him. I mean, the accuracy was amazing.

(08:02):
What I saw from Shador Sanders his poise in the pocket,
what I saw his escapability, his mobility and trying to
extend to play and give himself an opportunity to get
the ball to the receivers and them to get where
he could get them the ball. I thought it was
amazing what Shador Sanders said. It goes without saying Horn
and Hunter.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
But then there's.

Speaker 5 (08:23):
Always the butt, right you look at the A grades
and it's like no one ever sits there and focuses
on what you did well and what you did great.
It's always that question mark of what you didn't do
well and what you didn't do great. I felt like
coming out of that game, a lot of the same
concerns and criticisms that I had for this team last
year are still the same ones this year.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
Now.

Speaker 5 (08:44):
I know they added fat Boy to the team. You
know they got Warren Sap helping out the defensive front. Now,
I thought the defensive front would have been way, way
more dominant. Granted, North Dakota State is one of those
offensive lines. They're tricky, yet they are a mid a
mid school, right, They're not a major. They're a mid
and And when you look at that matchup, you assume

(09:07):
to yourself that your defensive front, now it's going to
be up front where you you don't you know, you
don't have it to be able to compete with a
power five. But North Dakota State is one of those
exceptions to the rule. They do have a pretty good
offensive line, good size, and they have good scheme. Nonetheless,
they still I was still looking for more of a

(09:29):
dominant presence from the front of Colorado, both offensively and defensively,
but more specifically important, like you said, TJ. Up front,
they were not They were not a dominant, disruptive, you know,
kind of dictate to this north to North Dakota State

(09:50):
team what they were in terms of being a Power
five team and coming into the season opener that way.
That's a concern. I think that concern. I think another
another major concern is the running game. We say, last year,
you got to have a running game, and they did not.
They could not run, They could not establish the ball.
The running game against this against a North Dakota team.

(10:15):
I just it was a tad bit, a tad bit
perplexing because I would have assumed that they would have
been able to establish a presence up front and a
presence in the running game that that gets you going
into the season. I made the comment a couple of
times we you know, I was in state college. I

(10:35):
was talking a couple of old teammates and lettermen and
they were like, you know, and it was it resonated
with me. It was like that play right there where
they they dropped it into the checkdown to the to
the flair, Uh power five kid makes that that's a
catch and tackle. You know, you saw a few plays
where it was like you saw where he was able
to throw the ball there, that defender will be there.

(10:58):
That might be a pick six against our five team.
So I started thinking to myself, if they don't clean
up some of these things where you don't you can
only focus in on what they're doing in the passing game,
it could be it could be problematic for them having
success and in the Big twelve. I personally think it's
a harder road the hoe going into the PAC twelve.

(11:21):
I mean into the Big twelve versus what they had
to endure and go through with the PAC twelve this
past season.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
Stop it, I do, I do the PAC twelve was
the best conference in football last year.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
No, no, yeah, come on, twelve was the best conference
football listen.

Speaker 5 (11:40):
I think I think that the way they play ball,
the way Utah plays ball, is one of those that
I think they played like an SEC top team. They
play like a Big ten regular team, which is very
physical and they're able to establish themselves.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
I do not see the Pack twelve.

Speaker 5 (12:01):
Being the same type of competition outside of an outside.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
Of an organ Last year, last year, the PAC twelve
was the best school. They had three teams in the
top ten at the end of the season in Utah Organ.

Speaker 5 (12:12):
Why did y'all play against each other and you'll play
against each other?

Speaker 2 (12:16):
Y'all not good?

Speaker 3 (12:17):
They're not good. What happened when the bowl games came around?
We didn't play against each other?

Speaker 2 (12:21):
What happened? Nobody cares?

Speaker 3 (12:22):
Okay, now, too many opt out excuse only satisfy those
who make them, and they remember that.

Speaker 5 (12:29):
Those who make nowhere, Yeah, switch you. I don't think
it's an excuse. I just don't anyone would ever consider
the pact. One if the pack tell was if they
were the best.

Speaker 3 (12:39):
No, if you guys are being honest, they're not. Last
year totally best conference in football. I'm being very last
year before that, it's the SEC every single year when they.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
Listen to twelve.

Speaker 5 (12:52):
They made it to the championship round, God blessed, and
then they went up against a team that I'm saying,
this is how they play. And those those conference at
the top of the SEC, that's how they play.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
You know what, and the Big Ten's.

Speaker 3 (13:05):
We're gonna get a good read on this when Oregon
goes in to the Big Ten and dominates it.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
We'll get you read for sure. Remember I said that
we don't revisit this in December. Remember I said this.
All I'm telling you is I think that Oregon will
do well. I think they'll do well. You you talking
about the.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
It's the two team race, and it's a two team
race and the big ten. No, it's not or Ohio State.
The two o's two team race, Ohio State.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
We will see. I believe Oregon is going to be
an amazing team.

Speaker 5 (13:42):
Oregon didn't even make it to the championship of their
their conference last year, which is not the best in
the game.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
But it is what it is. That's t J.

Speaker 5 (13:50):
Huchmizata, that's plex Cooe Burds. Obviously we're off to a heated,
nice little lathered start. You know, that's a beaver that's
talking trash to some big tenors. You know what it
is run up against a nitny lion and a spartan
with a beaver. You see what happens. Hey, Anyways, throwing
shade at TJ. We're going to the break, We're gonna
we're gonna switch it up a little bit. A top

Speaker 2 (17:33):
Fellas, All right, let's talk about it, Ayuk. He wanted out,
but he wanted in.

Speaker 5 (17:39):
He wanted to stay home with the forty nine ers,
but wanted to leave if they didn't want to pay
him what he was worth, what he was wanting. He
finally gets the deal. John Lynch and the forty nine ers,
they finally seal the deal.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
They get a deal.

Speaker 5 (17:54):
Done with Brandon Aiyuk reportedly four years, one hundred and
twenty million dollar deal. It's not fully guaranteed, but it's
up there. How did you guys react to it? Was
this the right play? Did he get the value that
he was seeking? What say you, guys?

Speaker 3 (18:14):
He got exactly what he wanted and for him, he
was holding out for that thirty million a year and
he got it. And so when you just look at
how the receiver market is gone.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
This is what it is.

Speaker 3 (18:32):
He's the Niners' best receiver when it comes to one
on one situations. He's their go to receiver when they
need a big play. The Niners misplayed this because prior
to this, they probably could have signed him for twenty
eight million a year and they didn't want to give
him twenty eight million a year. And you end up

(18:52):
giving him thirty million a year, and so so I
don't wonder. I really don't understand what a lot of
these teams do. I don't really understand how these general
managers become general managers.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
I really don't.

Speaker 3 (19:08):
And maybe I'm not really seeing.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
The business side of it, but I think I have
a good understanding of it.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
When I know somebody that I drafted high and developed,
when I see that you're a part of my future,
I'm locking you up early. Yeah, I'm gonna give you
the money early. I'm giving that money early. I'm giving
CD Lamb that money early. I'm giving Micah the money now.

(19:36):
I'm giving Jamar Chase the money now. I would have
paid Justin Jefferson last year because I'm going to give
you less and for the player. It's great that you
end up getting more, but you wait, and when you wait,
we all know when you don't get the money that
you want to get or they.

Speaker 2 (19:55):
Force you to wait.

Speaker 3 (19:56):
You're happy about it, but there's still some animosity that
you you're always going to have because of it. And
so although you got your money, you still are pissed
off a little bit about some of the things that
your agent is telling you, that the team is saying
that you don't do well, that they don't like about you.
So that animosity never goes away, even though you got

(20:17):
your money. So you got exactly what he wanted. I'm
happy for him, but I felt like the Niners they
misplayed this a little bit.

Speaker 4 (20:26):
When I look at these organizations these days. I look
at the John Lynches. Obviously, you know, he came he
was playing in our era, and some of these organizations
are conducting themselves, you know, from a business standpoint like
it was ten fifteen years ago. Yesterday's game is not
today's game. And I think that that's kind of what

(20:47):
how Jonas was kind of playing this thing with Brandon Au,
you know, saying, you know, saying to himself, you know,
we can we can win without him. I don't want
to pay the wide receive a thirty million dollars, but
that is what the market is today, and it is
only going to continue to grow up. But I don't
even think Brandon, I you is is the biggest story

(21:09):
here is Trent Williams because he is basically what Patrick
Mahomes is city Kansas City Chiefs, what Trent Williams is
to this football team. He's the best player on his team,
There's no doubt about it. And I don't believe that
this offense in this team is anywhere close to what

(21:30):
they were last year without him. Man, you're talking about
the best left tack on all the football and I'm
looking at the salary kep your the salary cap is
what two hundred and fifty five million? If the forty
nine ers have eight they're the only team in the
league they have eight players with the average of more
than fifteen million dollars a year.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
That's already one hundred and twenty million dollars of the
salary cap right there.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
Where are you going to get the money at the
sign Trent Williams. I believe they could have went into
this season and not signed Brandon. I believe that he
would have played for the fourteen million because it wouldn't
have helped him. He didn't have any leverage going into
this year because I believe that they could have tr

(22:11):
Brand you would have played for the fourteen and you
could have paid Trent Williams. Now that you have paid
Brandon Ayuk, you have no more money to give Trent.
There's no more money left. Where are you going to
get it from? So Trent william.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
Has all the leverage in the world. I don't believe
that he's going to.

Speaker 4 (22:30):
Show up or play for this team without a contract,
because he's the best left tacking all the football and
he's underpaid, and you have to have him on this
team if you even want to be considered competing for
a championship. You can't win it without him. So I
don't know what they are going to do moving forward.

(22:52):
I don't believe Trent Williams shows up the first league
of the season. I don't believe he plays and they
don't trust me. Just running game is not the same
without him. They dominate the left, the left part of
this line of scrimmage with him. So I just don't
know what you're gonna do moving forward for the forty
nine ers.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
If you don't have Trent Williams in.

Speaker 4 (23:11):
This lineup, it's not the same football team.

Speaker 2 (23:15):
Well, I'll say this.

Speaker 5 (23:17):
They did get better by bringing Brandon I you back
if they had let him get away. I think it
drastically dramatically.

Speaker 4 (23:26):
Let's be honest. Would you rather have Brandon our you
or Trent Williams.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
I'd rather have it too.

Speaker 5 (23:34):
If I had one Trent Williams every time ten times
out of and Trent Williams ten times, you.

Speaker 2 (23:41):
May not have this eleven times.

Speaker 4 (23:44):
Yeah, you may not have the same production as a
brand and our you if if if he doesn't play,
or if you have these younger piss off playing, but
you still have your best left tack on all the
football that is the anchor of this team is that
offensive line. And now you're looking forward talking about Chyna Williams.
Kettles is making fifteen million dots. He's under paid. You

(24:06):
might have to pay him coming up pretty soon.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
Well, we'll see how all that plays out.

Speaker 5 (24:12):
Let's get an update from our guy, Isaac loewen Kron
with all of the latest in sports.

Speaker 6 (24:17):
Well, the latest is I'd like to hire Plexico.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
As my Agent's yeah right, I.

Speaker 6 (24:22):
Mean he'll he'll fight for you.

Speaker 8 (24:25):
Let me tell you a lot of fighting going on
in college football right now, but not a lot of scoring.
Number One Georgia and Clemson nose score five point fourteen
left to play and counting in the first quarter. Georgia's
ball right now with a second and nine from their
thirty five yard line. Eighth rank Penn State and West
Virginia are scoreless in Morgantown at the four minute mark

(24:46):
of the first quarter. Number twenty five, Iowa has taken
a three to nothing lead over Illinois State with five
point thirty five left to play in the first quarter.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
There.

Speaker 8 (24:55):
In Major League Baseball, on Friday night, the Los Angeles
Dodgers won at Arizona ten t denied. In that game,
sho hey O'tani had a home run and a stolen
base to become the first forty three forty three player
in Major League history. But get this, it was the Dodgers'
eighty first win of the season. It's the first time

(25:16):
in sho hey Otani's major league career that he's been
on a team that has won at least eighty one games.
One other note about that game, Clayton Kershaw left with
a bone spur in his left big toe that is
expected have to go on the injured list.

Speaker 6 (25:32):
Finally, back to college football, This one's for you, Plexico.

Speaker 8 (25:36):
Last night, Michigan State held off Florida Atlantic sixteen to ten. Now,
there is a long snapper on the Michigan State roster
whose first name is Jack and whose last name is
Carson Wentz.

Speaker 5 (25:51):
Okay, okay, I thought you was about to say something different.

Speaker 8 (25:57):

it was you set it up.

guy from the Miami Dolphins. He lands his extension. Dolphins
extend head coach Mike McDaniel through twenty twenty eight.

Speaker 2 (27:28):
You guys agreed, disagree? How you feel about it? Man?
I feel good, baby. I mean, hey, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (27:35):
If I agree, but if I have to choose one,
you know I'm gonna agree.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
Baby.

Speaker 4 (27:41):
Okay, you agree? I mean, listen, I didn't think that
two of the things that happened is offseason with the
Miami Dolphins would happen I.

Speaker 2 (27:52):
Didn't think that they were going to pay too.

Speaker 4 (27:54):
I thought they were going to wait and see, you know,
how the season went with him as far as moving
forward for him being a franchise quarterback for this team.
And also I didn't think that Mike mcdane would get
an extension either, because you know what, what has his
record been in the playoffs moving forward. So I guess

(28:15):
when they did sign to her and they decided to
you know, keep him, you know, as their franchise quarterback,
they have decided to sign Mike mcdavey too. I believe
that both of these two gentlemen work well together, but
I just don't see them as being you know, that
elite team in the AFC. But I say this, I

(28:36):
believe that the Miami Dophins can win the a FC East.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
I really do.

Speaker 4 (28:40):
If they can somehow you know, you know, play getting
to the playoffs, get home fill advantage, or whatever the
case may be, if they don't have to leave Miami, nobody.
I don't think a lot of teams want to play
them in Miami in the playoffs. And and and that

(29:00):
in that weather was not going to be effected with
this offense. I believe they had the most explosive offense
in all the football. But for them to get to
the next level, I believe that they have to win
the division and they have to get home full advantage
that they want to be taken seriously.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
You know, when you look at what is there not
to like about the Dolphins, I actually think they're really good.
If Jalen Phillips, if he can come back healthy from
the Achilles tear, and that Bradley Chubb if he can
get pressure on the quarterback. And there's also a young
guy that they drafted, a rookie that went to school

(29:40):
where one of you guys had previoles. He going to score,
by the name of Chop Rominson. Pens didn't find a
baby first round. So if they can generate pressure but
want three of tho with those three rushing the passer,
I believe the Dolphins have as good of a chance
as anybody because offense, Yes, tour is gonna have to

(30:01):
play better in December, when you start going on the
road and you've got Buffalo in your division, you have
New England in your division, you have New York Jets
in your division.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
And I say that just for the weather, not not
because they're like the PAC twelve, right, they're the best.
That's the best?

Speaker 3 (30:18):
Hey, like like you like I just said, I'm packed
twelve twenty team gonna win the Big twelve and the
PAC twelve team go win the Big team.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
Then what you're gonna say, Then you're right?

Speaker 5 (30:29):
If you're right, man, that's that's the biggest proclamation and
call in and in the history of this show and
the history of this show.

Speaker 3 (30:38):
I like the Dolphins. I like tours a quarterback. I've
always liked them. And so it's going to be interesting
because at AFC, it's really going to be a which
team can stay healthy, which team's better players can stay
on the field to where it gives that team the

(30:59):
best chance When that's what it's gonna ball down to,
are my best players available to play?

Speaker 5 (31:03):
You just gave your quarterback a franchise caliber contract. That
play is that awarded him that opportunity to make that
contract comes from the confidence, by his own emission of
Tua that it was Mike McDaniel who brought him back
to life, brought him back from the dead the grave

(31:24):
that Brian Floores put his soft ass, I mean put
his put him in and coming out of the situation
that he was in when he first got to the Dolphins.
They did make it to the playoffs. They have made
it to the playoffs and have not had success in
the playoffs, but they have made it in the playoffs
kind of with the same record that they got with
Brian Flora. So y'all work that one out. But with

(31:45):
that being said, with that being said, why not give
him an extension because the reason why you think you're
going to be good, obviously is because of your quarterback.

Speaker 2 (31:54):
And the talent that's surrounding him. They did improve the defense.

Speaker 5 (31:57):
This does look like a conference that or a division
that is up for grabs. It obviously should be the
Buffalo Bills that you say it has to go through.
I still think they are the team to beat. But
a lot of people are high on the Jets. I
don't happen to be one of them, but a lot
of people are high on the Jets, And so you
could see this easily being a three three team race

(32:20):
and that division and the Dolphins being one of them.
So give them the extension, Give him the confidence that
he needs, give the players the confidence that you have
confidence in him as the coach, and see where you
can make it to with that being what you currently did.
So I kind of agree with it. I kind of
roll with it. I rock with it. But hey, we'll
have to wait. As TJ said, we'll have to wait

(32:42):
and see how it all plays out.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
All right, listen, we're gonna take a quick break.

Speaker 5 (32:45):
But on the other side of it, there's a dilemma,
and for once it could be well, Tom Brady doesn't
get it all well, you mean they talk about have
your cake and eat it too, which, by the way,
I think you should be able to have your cake
and eat it if you have your cake. So anyway,
Tom Brady might not be able to have the cake
and eat the cake too. But we're gonna talk about

(33:07):
why that is. On the other side of the break,
you're listening to up on Game. That's TJ. Hitchman's Out
of Plexico Burst. I'm LeVar Arrington.

Speaker 2 (33:13):
This is Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (33:16):
We'll be right back, all right, all right, welcome back

Going to be going right up.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
Be sure to check it out on the podcast.

Speaker 5 (33:33):
Just search up on Game wherever it is you get
your podcast from, and be sure to follow, rate and
review the podcast. Again, just search up on game wherever
it is you get it and check it out today,
all right, or tomorrow or whatever day you want.

Speaker 2 (33:47):
To check it out because it's a podcast. Also, fellas you.

Speaker 5 (33:50):
Know what, I think that it should be be stated
and it should be made known that, well, I'm a
big Tom Brady fan. But here's an interesting one. Here's
an interesting question for you guys. Hitting into hour two,
tom Brady is facing a situation where well, if he
gets approved for his ownership stake with the Las Vegas Raiders,

(34:14):
he will not be able to do his radio broadcasting deal.

Speaker 2 (34:20):
It's pending. Now.

Speaker 5 (34:21):
This creates a dilemma. I don't know if it's one year,
two years, I don't know what it is. But they
then threw a boatload of money tom Brady's way. We're
at least going to perceivably get one year out of him,
possibly two, who knows. But do you think that there's
a problem with that. I mean, if the man has ownership,
I know there are things that could possibly be conflicts

(34:44):
of interest if he's calling games. But I don't know,
is there a big enough conflict of interest where Tom
Brady shouldn't be able to As I mentioned in the
t's have his cake and eat it too. Why not
be an owner. He's only a He'll only be a
my Nordy's stake hold owner. And if he ends up

(35:06):
becoming a majority owner, then you make the decision there.
But as a minority owner, he's probably not going to
have very much you know, presence or decision making or
voting decisions in the organization. Why not still be able
to call games? What's your guys' take on it?

Speaker 3 (35:23):
Well, before I get going with that, I should have
done this earlier.

Speaker 2 (35:27):
I don't know what I was thinking.

Speaker 3 (35:28):
I want to send my condolences man to the gadrou family,
Johnny and Matthew Man losing their life because you have
an idiot that decide he wants to drive reckless, drunk,
passing people up on a single road, just doing dumb stuff.
Now you have a family without two brothers, I mean
two husbands, two friends, because you get idiots that decide

(35:51):
I'm a drink and then I'm a drive, and so
I want to send my condolences to their families. I
should have done that when the show started.

Speaker 2 (35:58):
Well maybe we've all done that, my bums.

Speaker 3 (36:01):
The Tom Brady thing, I don't get it, man, It's
like exactly what you say, LeVar. You are a minority owner.
You literally have zero say so. You don't have any
say so on what goes on, you have any say
so on any decision making. And so when you walk

(36:24):
into these practices on Friday and talking to NFL practice,
they get to watch the Friday practice, and you go
into these production meetings, what what are you? What are
you gonna say to the Raiders? If you're a part
owner of the Raiders, a minority owner the Raiders, that's
gonna help them. As long as it's isn't the team

(36:44):
that the Raiders are playing that week. What does it matter?
But the NFL they have rules, and so they make
the rules. You would bye by them, or you don't
get it playing play in their league. You don't get
to own in their league. Me, you just can't participate
in so the rules or the rules, whether whether I
agree with them or not, either way, I mean, he's

(37:08):
making close to forty million a year to talk about
football on TV, or you probably can make a little
more than that to own a team, because the appreciation
of any professional franchise, specifically in the NFL, is.

Speaker 4 (37:23):
Just going to continue to go up and up and up.
I mean, has there been any rules in place before
Tom Brady actually being a minority owner and being an analyst.
I don't think there's any rules that has been in
place because this is the first time that has ever happened.

Speaker 2 (37:44):
So I believe you guys know how to shield works.

Speaker 4 (37:47):
They'll just put some rules in place just so they
can have time to get a better understanding of what
kind of rules they want to enforce.

Speaker 2 (37:58):
So I don't see anything wrong with it.

Speaker 4 (38:00):
But it's Tom Brady, and out of the thirty two owners,
I believe they only need nine owners to vote against it,
and it will, you know, basically limit him from having
any access to any of the teams, going to the
team facilies and all of those kinds of things moving forward.
But I believe that, uh, you know, he's going to

(38:23):
be on TV and maybe they get one year out
of him. But if I was Tom Brady looking at
the contract and which which he was just offered, I
believe that he is going to probably relinquish his ownership
and focus on making the forty.

Speaker 2 (38:37):
Million dollars a year on talk. Really you think so?
I believe so. I mean to me, if you.

Speaker 5 (38:43):
Have that opportunity to have minority ownership, here's why I
like my here's the dilemma.

Speaker 4 (38:49):
Of three hundred million dollar deal man. So do you
think do you think he's going to come anywhere close
to that being a minority owner of the loft?

Speaker 5 (38:58):
If it, if it puts him one day closer to
being a really.

Speaker 3 (39:03):
Depends on it really depends on the percent. If it
puts but that he's able to buy it, really do.

Speaker 5 (39:11):
If it puts him in one day's position to become
a majority owner of the team, then it's worth it
because he's already made enough money anyway. It's like, Okay,
you can get that three hundred million off of calling games,
but if you get that ownership stake and you can
get and you see they bringing in these these private equities,
these these private equity groups that that they want to

(39:33):
sell ten percent off they've approved it. So they're going
into a direction where you can actually become more profitable
and lucrative off of having ownership right and stakes to
a team than what you ever had. So if you
take that, if you take that minority ownership piece, it
may put him closer to becoming a majority owner. He

(39:54):
may be able to connect with a private.

Speaker 3 (39:56):
Investor, private, private, private, one percent of a six billion
dollar franchise.

Speaker 2 (40:07):
Ten do the math that's that's due the math that's
six hundred million and so.

Speaker 4 (40:13):
But he doesn't get that. He's not going to be
able to do both. He's not going to build with
if he doesn't have access to the teams, being able
to go to the brightness and go on to facilities.

Speaker 2 (40:28):
He can't be on television.

Speaker 4 (40:29):
So he's going to have to make his mind up
of which one he wants to do.

Speaker 2 (40:33):
That he can't do both.

Speaker 5 (40:36):
I find it to be interesting which one do you do,
because you don't you generally do not get your money
out of being an owner of a team. So if
it's not about a money grab in the initial then
you take the ownership. It's hard to become an owner
in the National Football League and the value of the
franchises go.

Speaker 4 (40:56):
I believe he stays on television because the NFL are
not already agreeing with him being on the off the
off the top anyway, they're against it. But I mean
when they when those none owners vote that he can't
come into these team meetings or into the facilities, that's

(41:17):
going to let him know where he where exactly he
stands at with in the NFL with the owners.

Speaker 2 (41:24):
See I don't.

Speaker 5 (41:25):
I just think that for me, the bigger play here,
the bigger thought process is if I'm doing television because
that's something I love to do and I want to
do it, then that becomes more.

Speaker 2 (41:37):
Yeah, he loves to do it, Lavard, trust me, I
get it.

Speaker 5 (41:41):
But you got to look at how much he's generating anyway,
and he could probably generate now maybe not forty million dollars,
but maybe so off of doing other projects. Who wouldn't
want to work with Tom Brady, you know what I mean?
Like and that might sound like fanboyish, but I'm just saying,
who wouldn't in any type of investment situation funds, you know, projects, whatever,

(42:02):
who wouldn't want it? Like he could supplement making money.
So to me, I feel like it's almost about a
legacy play. It's more so about a legacy deal than
it being about the money. I feel like you're putting
yourself in a position where you could say, my kids
have a part in this ownership stake, when I'm going
their kids, their kids, because that's what the NFL is.

(42:23):
So if he's looking at it from that perspective and
could possibly end up being the majority owner, because I
think that's the conversations that have ensued as well as
that he could end up being a majority owner, then
I'm I'm taking the ownership. I'm taking the ownership for
so I know it's an institution where the.

Speaker 2 (42:38):
Value is only going to continue to go up, it
won't lose value. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (42:41):
So do you believe that he would have signed this
deal with it with with the other with Fox if
if he knew that the NFL was going.

Speaker 5 (42:50):
To put I think if he gets it, I think
it's a done deal. He's taking the ownership over doing that.
But hey, we'll see what happens. This is Fox Sports Radio.
Our one is done out, fo or two is coming
at you. This is up on game all right, make
sure you stay locked in, tuned in.

Speaker 2 (43:05):
