Pete Prisco is going to stop by. He is very
upset about a couple of situations that took place in
the NFL this weekend. Will Levis being one of them,
and his head coach speaks out on his decision. Plus,
(00:42):
we've got the return of the BQ Top fifteen and
it's all yours coming up next here, Two Pros and

Speaker 3 (01:45):
Now, I don't know about that man. That's just Captain Kirk.
I'm coming.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
You know, he's just changing narratives about him every single
step at a time. Good for her cousins, Fluky victory,
primetime Kirk. A victory is a victory, though I don't know.
It looked like he was dice there that last drive.
Can I tell you the three phases? So I went
through three phases of blame. You know they say there's
like phases of grief, all right, So like, in the moment,
(02:10):
I'm thinking, so, why the hell is Philadelphia throwing the
ball in that spot and stopping the clock in an
incomplete pass? And then I let that settle down, and
I thought, why the hell did Saquon Barkley drop that
ball that was very catchable.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
That well? And then down?
Speaker 1 (02:27):
And then I said, why the hell couldn't the defense
get a stop because they went down the field and
it looked easy.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
That's the way my son's team lost last week. It's
kind of disheartening. You play a hell of a game,
you play a defensive struggle game, somehow, someway, your offenses
start to get it going. Both teams are scoring, and
the game looks all but over one last drive and
you don't stop them. I don't get it. How are
(02:56):
you going to play defense so well the entire game
and then let Kirk get you on the last on
the last draft Which I'm not an Eagles fan to
begin with, but I'm not an Atlanta fan either, so
I know I was blown away. I was shocked. I
was like, is that about to turn the game off?
Speaker 3 (03:14):
Is that the defensive perspective though? Looking at it that way?
Probably so, because I always think clay. For a quarterback,
it's like, dude, goes my, that's what comes in your head. Yeah,
when you get that ball and you get that final drive,
you're like, hell yeah, man, here's our shot. This is
I love that stuff. That was always my favorite.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
It's pretty dope. That's dope perspective, dude, that's all it is.
I want to cuss at you right now, like I
want to, I really do.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
But that's like, think about it. I was little like
playing quarterback. That's always what you dreamt of, hope for
you wanted that last draft. Hell yeah. Like honestly, the
worst two minute drives are the ones before half because oftentimes,
like the play call is not going to be as
aggressive for one to two reasons. Either if you get
(04:03):
the ball out of half, they're like, oh right, let's
see if we get off to a good store, we'll
do something with it here. Or if you make a
mistake and it gives the other team momentum, then it's
like all right. But for the most part, like a
two minute drives, a two minute drives just a lot
more fun for the quarterback, especially for like that was
more of a pocket passer, but that was the moment too,
where it's like hell yeah, I'll get to run around
a little bit trying to create, like everything felt a
(04:25):
lot more free and open and then compared to like
the normal offense offensive sets. So I love that for
Kirk Cousins, dude, because there's just narrative about him. And
you know, and I worked with Pete Prisco and I
believe we're talking to Pete today. Is that correct? That's correct?
Which is awesome, Like we couldn't have set up today's
show any better for our listeners out there. Pete Prisco,
(04:49):
as we heard him talk talking about Kirk Cousins last week,
has buried guys like Kirk Cousins for their entire career.
I have no idea why, because Kirk not only has
been so successful from a bank account standpoint, he's actually
been pretty darn good too, and it's one on the
road in the playoffs, has done a lot. He hasn't
always had a lot of help around him, but he's
been a really good quarterback. Pete gives him no respect.
(05:11):
So I can't wait to hear the bs that Pete's
gonna spewed later on today.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
Oh plus Will Levis, I mean, he's a big will
Levis guy too. Yeah, this is gonna be a bad
day for Pete. He won't answer his phone. He might
not answer his phone.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
Leave. I will say I made some Pittsburgh stole tomahawks yesterday,
all right, I will say that. That's awesome, I mean,
and some russell sprouts up.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
You gotta start sending more food pictures, man, because the
last time you're sending that.
Speaker 4 (05:38):
Did you not see my food picture from yesterday?
Speaker 3 (05:41):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (05:41):
Hold on, hold on, I'm gonna send it to you guys.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
Well, it promise makes me hungry though then I'm like,
I don't need deep and now I feel like eating.
Are you? Are you a? Are you a?
Speaker 4 (05:51):
Blue cheese? Crumbles and mushrooms?
Speaker 5 (05:53):
Guy?
Speaker 3 (05:55):
I could do that? Oh yeah, just that?
Speaker 4 (05:56):
Wow? Is that fire bro that's on that oonie? I
cooked that on the oonie.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
Put on the twitter over whatever. It's called our style. Man.
Speaker 4 (06:07):
And if you notice I have it on the cutting board.
I didn't even me and such I didn't even use
a plate, Like, didn't even use the plate, just ate
it right off the cutting board.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
It's savage.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
Yeah, man, that's right.
Speaker 5 (06:20):
Man.
Speaker 4 (06:20):
Man wanted a tomahawk yesterday. So yeah, he's going to
get one. You know, the boy going to be he'd
been going to be something one day, so I got
him one.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
You want to sign of Sirianni to go at that.
Speaker 4 (06:30):
Time, Let's get a side of Syriana. So here he
was blue cheese crumbles on.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
Here was the Eagles head coach explaining why they threw
the ball on third and three. On that second to
last drive.
Speaker 6 (06:42):
They were running a certain defense and junking it up
in the middle, so we're trying to go on around
the outside, and uh, you know it didn't work. Think
the decision to pass it there again, Like I said,
you know what, they were junking it up inside. With
(07:02):
it being fourth and three to go for it, I thought,
you know, with them not having any timeouts, I wanted
to be down a touchdown and and see if they
could drive the field.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
And then they did. Hats off to them. Damn right.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
You didn't Dion say that. Coach prompt say that the
other week. We're going to take what they give us.
They give us, the paths they're they're playing to run,
They're going we're gonna take what they give us. My
my thing is.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
He was open. He was open, y right play call.
He was open wrong outcome. Dang.
Speaker 4 (07:32):
Let me ask you this, but isn't that what did
you think to try to run it twice in that scenario,
even if they were loading up the box. I mean
to one one run, one push push, I mean, what
does the book SAYQ like what like it was the
I mean.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
Go back on it and now, because this is what
gets really confusing with the whole like win probability is oftentimes,
like it'll tell you in that case, you try to
go for a touchdown, right, but it doesn't always factor
into the element of time. It's only playing over the
callis scenarios we've seen before with that amount of time
(08:13):
when the clock and all that.
Speaker 4 (08:14):
So I'm trying to go with a lot of time.
I think it was two timeouts and it was like
one one minute and like thirty some second something like
that to that effect. It was something like one minute
and something minute and a half left. I think Atlanta
had one time out remains, was it one or two?
Speaker 3 (08:32):
One? It was one though, So let's say they'd run
the football there, They're still gonna to stop the clock.
And on top of that, I mean Philly had a
shot to come back. I mean that's how fast Atlanta
moved the ball down the field.
Speaker 4 (08:44):
They did at Philly had two timeouts coming out. I
believe coming out of that that scoring draft. Maybe that's
what it was. I don't understand how they let like
why do you not pressure them? They went into a
prevent style of defense, like keep them in front of you.
I don't understand why they would be so passive in
(09:06):
their coverage and and well, not so much in their
coverage but in getting pressure on Kirk Cousins. There was
no pressure on them on that last drive. It was
all coverage.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Matt Ryan was on the Manning cast and he was
saying that in that spot, if you're struggling to find
your rhythm in a new offense, is sometimes the two
minute drill is the best thing for you, because.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
Yeah, it's honestly, it's not even if you're even a
new offense. Oftentimes on an offense is struggling your quarterback
struggling to find a rhythm. You just played more up
tempo and not that this is like led to why
you see a lot more of those uptempo offenses in college,
But you see a lot of college quarterbacks who play
on those offenses have a hard time not you know,
(09:49):
try to play in a more traditional offense because it's
harder to get into a rhythm because it's a slower pace.
You're not throwing the football quite as much. When you're
out there in an uptemp offense or like two minutes.
It feels like a point guard when you're playing basketball,
and so you just you feel like you're a little
bit more in the flow of the game and moving
around more and everything else. So there's some truth to
(10:10):
that sometimes. You know, Charlie Weis used to kind of
mix that up off and on throughout the course of
his career as a play caller, whether he was in
New England or even when I had him back when
he was a notre name, but even when he went
back up to the pros, that was his change up.
He'd say, all right, let's go two minute like this.
You know, first quarter hasn't been going well, and he
would mix up tempo a little bit in and out
and it would help a quarterback get out of the
(10:31):
funk a little bit.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
By the way, I think Cousins is won. Has he
won his last four Monday Night game or he's won
four of his last five Monday night games.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
So yeah, right, job there, Joe.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Hey, listen, he's just changing the way that you talk
about him and me. Yes, and you've been burying him
for three years about he can't perform on primetime, he's
not worth the money. He's saying that, yes, and so
here he is just proved and all the doubters wrong
and all the haters out there wrong.
Speaker 4 (11:02):
Good for Kirk Cousins man, Guys getting I never said that.
I'm a Kirk Cousins fan.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
And he's got another primetime game coming up as well too,
so we're gonna get How do we feel about Atlanta?
Speaker 4 (11:14):
I thought they did a great job. I mean I
felt like I even without aj Brown being in the game,
I felt like there would be a lot more offense
from Philadelphia last night. Am I wrong for that? I mean?
I mean I kind of felt like this would be
an offensive game. Oh no, not a defensive game. I
thought it would have been way more offense going on.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
I'm Highland Atlanta man. I think Raheem Morris is going
to do a really good job with this defense. That
the defense was pretty solid last year for that they were,
so I think they're going to challenge a lot of people, look,
the NFC South looks legit when you look at well
three of the four teams. Yeah, I can't say much
about Carolina. We'll get into that. Which that did break
by heart that news yesterday.
Speaker 7 (11:58):
Man.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
I don't know why, but I think Atlanta's got is
a more complete team than people realize. And that's why
they attacked the quarterback position in the offseason the way
they did, and a lot of people criticized it. A
lot of people said, hey, what are you doing, Like,
how are you gonna take a top ten quarterback is
not going to play? That's where this roster's at. I mean,
the pickup of Dordell Mooney has been huge. You saw
(12:19):
his impact last night. Absolutely, But Cousins now with Pennix,
they're like waiting in the wings, Like it's just you've
got a lot of talent there. And I think this
team is going to be a playoff team when it's
all said done, as good as everyone else has been,
I'm telling you, I think Atlant's gonna be a playoff team.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
Big win for Atlanta last night, a bad loss for Philly,
and we're off and running here on a Tuesday morning.
Here two Pros and a Cup of Joe, Fox Sports Radio.
So yeah, Pete Prisco's going to stop by an hour
three of the program. That'll be a fun conversation considering
all the stuff that he has said. As Brady pointed
out about Kirk Cousins, his guy Will Levi is struggling
over the weekend. We're also going to have the debut
(12:56):
with imaging, this time with imaging of Lee's leftovers. And
later on this hour, we do have another edition of
In case you missed it, It's all yours and the

Top fifteen in college football. All of that is yours
here from the tire rack dot Com studios. Coming up
next here though terrible news, awful situation for one player
(13:17):
in the NFL, and we're gonna find out whose call
it was.
Speaker 3 (13:22):
That's yours here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (13:24):

Speaker 9 (13:47):
To, and that's why we have a brand new podcast
called over Promised. You see, we're having so much fun
in our two hour show. We never get to everything, honestly,
because this guy is over promising things we never have
time for. Yeah, you blubber list jam me.
Speaker 8 (14:01):
Well, you know what it's called over promise. You should
be good at it because you've been over promising women
for years.
Speaker 9 (14:06):
Well, it's a Covino and Rich after show, and we
want you to be a part of it. We're gonna
be talking sports, of course, but we're also gonna talk

sure you check out over Promised and also Uncensored, by

There you go, over Promising.
Speaker 9 (14:32):
Remember you could see it on YouTube, but definitely join

Speaker 1 (14:42):
Quinn back to throw fires, Touchdown, two pros and a
cup of Joe Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (14:48):
He looks way better than Lance Harbor, like shots out
and rest easy. But I take Q Quinn every time
and that situation.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
Yeah, good call.
Speaker 4 (15:01):
We should do it. We should do a spoof on
Varsity Blues. It kind of be dope that s would
be funny as hell.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
Be the coach.
Speaker 4 (15:13):
I think that would be pretty good.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
Oh Billy Bob crying well, cry me a river, you
fatf and baby my quarterbacks dragging is late because of you.
Speaker 3 (15:22):
I thought you'd be tweeter. You wouldn't be tweeter in
this case.
Speaker 4 (15:25):
I want to be the coach, all right, lines, I
think we should go through our entire friend list and
create a scene, recreate a scene from Varsity Blues that
I think that'd be pretty fire.
Speaker 3 (15:40):
It's a hell of an idea. Listen, Halloween's coming.
Speaker 4 (15:43):
Up, hey man, do it? You know what would be interesting?
Like interestingly enough, oddly enough, I know we're going to
talk about some more sobering news, of course, but you know,
it would be interesting if someone like Q and myself
did a script on in an all American in high school,
like how they did to show all American. I think
(16:04):
it would be more interesting if you really got the
perspective from real all Americans. Yeah, I mean you know
that are actually able to, you know, tell the story
being all Americans?
Speaker 3 (16:18):
Yeah? Man, Like, how come you left me out there
when you were talking about you and Brady?
Speaker 4 (16:22):
What was not?
Speaker 3 (16:23):
Did I not qualifying? You know?
Speaker 4 (16:25):
He was the quarterback for for Notre Dame? Man, Yeah,
just kind of saying like a legendary was kind of
Friday not indeed. Sorry, listen, nobody's perfect then that's all right, though, Man,
we'd have you in the in the script though we
write you in there. I just want to we could
(16:45):
do it like a Billy Bob Thornton type deal. You
got a Billy Bob Thornton look to you like Monsters
Ball that type of thing. I mean, why not that
was I wouldn't be mad.
Speaker 3 (16:55):
At you, No, I wouldn't either.
Speaker 4 (16:58):
In fact, I would like to write that I've come
to visit you on the set.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
Let's do that. Let's do that spoof if.
Speaker 4 (17:04):
You're out there listening. Ready here again, what's on ma'am?
If you're out there listening, Uh, we would like to
recreate that scene. Okay, all right, let's let's go. Lee
will be there for let's transition to somebody else who's
going to be sitting down?
Speaker 3 (17:20):
No, no, yeah, listen?
Speaker 1 (17:24):
Oh not great? Two pros and a cup of Joe
here on Fox Sports Radio. And Yes, the news came
out yesterday. Bryce Young has been benched in Carolina. Andy
Dalton will be the starter. The head coach of the Panthers,
Dave Canalis, spoke about why the change in the decision
(17:44):
based on the fact that he gave him a photo
confidence following the game over the weekend, all of a
sudden to announce the news, and he talked about that
and also tried to clear up any misnomers potentially about
who was making the call.
Speaker 7 (17:57):
After yesterday, just went home, watched the film. I had
some conversations with coaches, so had to gather a lot
of information through this morning and made that decision after
looking at it, that this is the best decision for
our group, for our team, keeper.
Speaker 3 (18:13):
Saying the past that he gets consulting on the big decisions.
What was his role in this.
Speaker 7 (18:21):
As you guys, I want to keep that private. What
I would like to say, though, is this is something
after I watched the film, I looked at it, had
a thought, started working on talking to the guys that
we make decisions with. Certainly a lot of parties involved there,
and ultimately this comes on me and my number one
(18:41):
responsibility is to help the Panthers win and so this
move I believe puts us in the best chance to
do that.
Speaker 4 (18:46):
This week translation, Temper said, you figure it out. Is
there a quarterback out there that's available, who can we
try to use to try to get a jump start.
It's that or your ass, And I will not hesitate
to replace your ass. This is self preservation. But go ahead,
(19:08):
you got it. Well, it could be to a degree.
Speaker 3 (19:12):
I also think there's an element of maybe even David
Tepper taking accountability or coming to the realization that Bryce
Young isn't going to be able to do it at
this level. And if you go back to last year,
you know, one of the reasons why I think there is,
you know, a firing and they kind of went their
(19:32):
separate ways had a lot to do with the fact
of well, who decided on Bryce Young as the number
one overall pick. Was it David Tepper? Was it the
former coach? Their staff, because it seemed as if there
was a bit of a divide, and you know, we
heard we saw video of Josh McCown who was with CJ. Stroud,
(19:53):
and it seemed like they were very high on CJ.
Stroud from a lot of the video and the after
his pro day. But they didn't go that direction. And
last year, oddly enough, Bryce Young got hurt, didn't play
Week three, Andy Dalton did. I believe it was versus
Seattle if my recollections correct, and Dalton played actually pretty
(20:14):
well through for a bunch of yards. They didn't win
the game, but he kind of kept them at least
afloat and it looked a lot better than when Bryce
Young was in there. So in this case, next this
second year, again week three, for third game of the season,
same thing happens, maybe not through him from an injury,
but obviously Andy Dalton gets a shot. I remember calling
(20:39):
a game and seeing Andy Dalton and watching it going
It needs a veteran in there, you know. There's just
something about the way Dalton would get the ball out quick, anticipate,
see it climb the pocket, where Bryce Young just is
not doing that, and maybe that could help spark him
seeing how it's supposed to be done by a veteran guy,
and he'll do it. He's still early on in his career.
(21:02):
But what I've witnessed so far in the first couple
of weeks is a quarterback who has not learned to
do that as far as navigating the pocket at the
NFL level, he is not giving any of the deep
routes much time to develop. Now. It could be a
bit because he's been shell shocked from the hits he's
taken from last year's offensive line and even you know,
(21:23):
Week one, some of the pressures he sustained versus Week two,
which the offensive line was better. But it doesn't seem
like he's got any confidence whatsoever in his ability to
hang in there take hits, or hang in there, see
down the field and play the game like he needs
to at the NFL level. And I talked about it
being an issue for Bryce Young and some of the
(21:45):
things he does fundamentally, you know, with this body and
turning a parallel to the line of scrimmage too much,
and you're starting to see some of that stuff with
Kaleb Williams, and these guys better realize they have to adjust,
they have to learn to play from the pocket. And
if I was a quarterback, tu if I was their
head coach, the number one thing I would do with
all these young quarterbacks and rookies is make them play
(22:06):
from under center. I would build my offense young in
their career from under center. And I would make them
learn their timing, rhythm, footwork, everything from under center. And
I would not put this entire game on their shoulders.
And unfortunately, so many of these offenses just strictly throw
(22:27):
them back in shotgun because that's all they know, and
it does them a disservice when their full work, their
pocket presence looks like it does for many of these
young quarterbacks in the league right now.
Speaker 1 (22:38):
Apparently, Bryce young Well reportedly was surprised at the decision.
Andy Dalton said he didn't see it come, and some
people described it as Bryce young being blindsided by it.
I just and you didn't hear Dave Canalis say, well, listen,
we just want to sit him down and then we'll
go back to them. Eventually, it was no, we're going
(22:59):
to make this call. There's been no decision as to
what we're going to do, and it just it's got
David Tepper's fingerprints written all over it, and it's like
here we go again, man, Like two weeks in and
we're already seeing there, you know, turning the page or
making some decision based on a couple of games, and
it just feels like Bryce Young got drafted and he struggled,
(23:23):
but he got drafted into a crap spot in a
craft situation. And now the book is out on him
and the way he laid it out yesterday and talking
about Sam Donald and why Kevin O'Connell so emotional about
it and why he sees Sam donald struggles and then
finally getting an opportunity in Minnesota with real talent and
real belief around him. I just wonder if Bryce Young's
(23:45):
career is ever going to get that sort of treatment,
or if he's just where he's at and this is
the way the Panthers are going to roll with it,
and he's just got to deal with the repercussions.
Speaker 4 (23:53):
He might get a reset at some point, they might
dealing you know, they might deal him from there and
just all the way move move away from him knowing
that this just isn't. He's not the one to lift
that ship. He's not the rising tide of Carolina. I
(24:14):
think the book is out on that and it's not. Again,
how much of it is on him as a player,
I don't know. I tend to fall on the side
of the player in most cases in these situations because
I understand how being a top draft pick and being
a draft pick that has expectations and standards on you,
(24:38):
and how that even not as a quarterback, I can't
even imagine what it would be like being a quarterback
and being a top draft pick for your team, that
the standard and the expectation is that you are going
to be the savior of that team. You're going to
be the catalyst of change, You're going to be the
one that makes it fun to be a fan of
(24:58):
the team. Again, there are lot of expectations that come
with that, and not a lot of reality is exercised
and the sensibility of what could possibly be the outcome,
And generally speaking, it's the it's the player that's scapegoat
it every time. It's so simple and it's so easy
(25:19):
to scapegoat the player because as a fan, you're always
going to be a fan of your team, You're going
to choose your team over a player because players come
and go. So to me, when you have these situations
play out, which play out more often than not people
people probably aren't even aware of how many times these
types of situations play out versus the other way around,
(25:41):
where the guy becomes a mainstay and a star and
and somebody who is a tremendous part of that community.
It doesn't work out that way very often, not for
the not for the crappy, not for the crappy franchises.
It just doesn't. And it sucks because you're going, like,
(26:01):
Andy Dalton is not going to change this team. He's
not at this point. He's a journeyman. He's a stop
gap to whatever's next. And to be honest with you,
if if they believe that he's going to save the
season or save these coaches' jobs or whatever it may be,
(26:22):
you're going to be looking for new coaches soon. I
mean that's just what that's the reality of this. He's
not going to change it. I don't care how bad
Bryce Young has been. Andy Dalton is not going to
change around what the Carolina Panthers are doing. Talent does
not outperform dysfunction does it.
Speaker 3 (26:44):
And we've seen enough examples of coaches.
Speaker 1 (26:46):
Being fired, you know, Matt Rule, Frank Reich, like trading
Dj Moore, getting rid of Christian McCaffrey, you know, Brian Burns.
Like they've had like good players there that they've just
moved off of. They've had coaches there that they've moved
off of. And that appears like they're going to move
off of Bryce Young and all that being said, when
(27:08):
I see the situation, I go, oh yeah. And they
were one of the handful of teams that was in
the Deshaun Watson sweepstakes, and reportedly the reason why they
didn't land Deshaun Watson is because they didn't want to
go fully guaranteed on the final two years of the deal.
So even they could figure it out in that situation.
But everything else has been a disaster.
Speaker 3 (27:29):
It's a mess.
Speaker 1 (27:30):
The guys throwing battery acid at fans at a Jaguars
game there. I mean, look, you know, we don't know
what the contents were inside the cup, but we'll just
go at that for an hour. Okay, I mean listen, water,
battery acid, same thing. The team stinks, the organization's a disaster,
and I just don't know why anybody, if you've got
(27:53):
a choice, would want to sign up for that. Like
I wonder if they called Bill Belichick after the season,
said what do you think?
Speaker 3 (27:59):
Does he even answer the call?
Speaker 1 (28:01):
Does he even say no, listen, I like we're good here,
or if that, if they even kicked the tires on
that this offseason, Like it just it feels like anybody there,
you know what you're signing up for. Team's a mess,
and it doesn't feel like it's getting any any better
anytime soon. Sucks. Yep, we'll go with that. Ye two
(28:21):
pros and a cup of Joe. Here on Fox Sports Radio,
LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn Jonas knocks with you. By the way,
this show is sponsored by Draft Kings. Stay tuned because
you'll hear more about DraftKings and all it has to
offer throughout the show. DraftKings, The Crown is yours. So
we've got another edition of in case you mist it
coming up here shortly, but for all the latest from
around the world of sports.
Speaker 3 (28:40):
He's our franchise quarterback. He's Eddie Garcia. All right, thank you, Jonas.
Speaker 5 (28:44):
We start with Week two in the NFL coming to
a close with Monday Night football in Philadelphia, with the
Falcons pull out a twenty to twenty one win over
the Eagles. Minute thirty nine left, it was Atlanta down
six points. Quarterback Kirk Cousins led the team on a
sixth place seventy yard drive, captain with a seven yard
touchdown pass to wide receiver Drake London. The extra point
gave Atlanta the one point lead with thirty four seconds left.
Kirk Cousins went twenty of twenty nine passing for two
(29:06):
hundred and forty one yards and two touchdowns in the win.
Philadelphia quarterback Jaalen Hurts had two touchdowns, one passing, one
rushing with an interception. Also, Philadelphia running back to Sawon
Barkley twenty two carries for ninety five yards, but had
a key drop pass on a third and three at
to Atlanta ten that would have given them a first down,
likely with under two minutes to go. Catch could have
sealed the win for them, but instead they just stand
(29:26):
to kick a field goal and then opened the door
for Atlanta. Both teams now one and one on this season.
NFL News Carolina Panthers are benching former first overall pit
quarterback Bryce Young. They'll start Andy Dalton against the Raiders.
Kansaity Chiefs running back Isaiah Pachaco expected him as sixty
eight weeks with a fractured fibulate will require surgery. NFL
Network reports that the Chiefs are going to bring in
former Kansa City running Backkareem Hunt for a workout. LA
(29:47):
Rams wide receiver Cooper Cup gonna miss multiple weeks with
an ankle injury. He'll likely go on injured reserve and
forty nundreds wide receiver Deebo Seamuel has a strained.
Speaker 3 (29:54):
CAF and will miss a couple of weeks.
Speaker 5 (29:56):
Checking the baseball playoff races, the Mets beat the Nationals
two to one on a Starling Marte RBI single in
the tenth. The Mets now have a one game lead
on Atlanta for the final wildcard spot in the National
League because the Braves are shut up by the Dodgers
nine to nothing. LA scored nine runs despite only having
four hits in the game. Guardians beat the Twins four
to two. Cleveland's leader in the Ale Centrals at four
games on Kansas City. The Royals lost to the Tigers
(30:18):
seven to six. Detroit now a game in a half
back in Minnesota for the last wildcard spot in the
American League. Astros lose to the Padres three to one.
Houston's lead on idle Seattle for first in the ALE
West is at four games. San Diego is still three
and a half back of LA and the NL West,
and in a battle of division leaders, he had the Brewers
over the Phillies six to two. White Sox beat the
Angels eight to four. So Chicago still at one hundred
(30:38):
and fifteen losses on the season, six away from breaking
the all time record for most losses in a season
with eleven games left to go. Now back to Brady Quinn, Thevarrarerktonnay,
Jonas Knox the Tirack dot Com, Fox Sports Radio Studios.
Speaker 1 (30:50):
You know what's sad about that there's people that are
rooting for them to break that record?
Speaker 3 (30:53):
My hands in the air, yes, right, I kind of
want to see it too, Man, How bad?
Speaker 1 (30:59):
How bad are you that you're at one hundred and
fifteen losses and you've got an opportunity to go all
time with this?
Speaker 3 (31:05):
I was gonna ask the question, Jonas, since you're a
Cubs fan, how happy are you that it's the White Sox.
Is there a little bit of that inner town, inner
city rivalry where you're happy that it's the White Sox
or this bad no, because I just I don't know that.
Speaker 1 (31:19):
Like Cubs fans really take White Sox fans seriously, which
is saying something considering you're the Cubs, but like they're like.
Speaker 3 (31:25):
That's a coup.
Speaker 4 (31:26):
You gotta single it out the color though, I mean,
I mean, I don't get it. I got to be
a white stick just it is what it is, you.
Speaker 3 (31:32):
Know what I mean. It's hard time apparently be a
White Sox. Thank you. I appreciate that.
Speaker 1 (31:37):
I do watch, I do, I do. I do wonder
with some Basoline, how much money do you think they've made?
How much money do you think, like even running the
worst team and worst franchise in the league, how much
money do you think the White Sox have made just
(31:59):
at home game this year?
Speaker 3 (32:00):
Like, how much have they profited?
Speaker 1 (32:02):
Because they're doing like ten twelve thousand people there and
yeah it's not a lot compared to some other places,
but it's still twelve thousand people a night that are
going there and spending money. I'd love to know what
their profit is for this year with a bad organization.
Is that stuff ever disclosed publicly? Did they ever release that?
Or is it just the packers that do well?
Speaker 3 (32:23):
The packers are publicly owned, so that's why the White
Sox are not. So the answer is no, No, it's
not publicly disclosed. Yoh that's too bad. Well, it's unfortunate,
I think. Yeah, I'm pretty sure you knew the answer
to that question. Not sure why you ask?
Speaker 1 (32:37):
Well, no, I just is there a way like ballpark sales,
like separate from merchandise and all that stuff just concessions,
Like I would love to find that out, like how
much they made?
Speaker 3 (32:46):
How about this? Let's start off with giving your pin
code to your debit card. I will. I'll try to
log in and go into your finances and we'll see
how easy that is, and then I'll try to get
into the White Sox next.
Speaker 1 (32:58):
I mean, you'll never be able to figure it out
read Spanish, so like why would you even ask?
Speaker 3 (33:03):
Like you can't figure that out?
Speaker 4 (33:04):
Okay, maybe you can, Okay, maybe you can.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
All right, two pros and talk here at Fox Sports Radio,

Speaker 1 (34:22):
Missed it, and for that we turn it over to
our executive producer, Lee.
Speaker 10 (34:27):
Lap Good more than everybody.
Speaker 3 (34:31):
Good morning, Jonas, Good morning LeVar, Good morning Brady.
Speaker 4 (34:34):
Hey guys. Hey, hey guys.
Speaker 10 (34:36):
In case you missed this, obviously, Hey Brady, Hey guys.
Speaker 4 (34:40):
In case you missed this, Mike McDill McDaniel.
Speaker 10 (34:42):
Mike McDaniel McDaniel, head coach of the Dolphins, had said that,
you know they're going to boost their quarterback room.
Speaker 4 (34:48):
It's a little thin right now.
Speaker 10 (34:49):
Well they did just that on Monday, adding Tyler Snoop
Huntley off the Ravens squad.
Speaker 3 (34:58):
When did we start calling Tyler Huntley? Then? I missed that.
I don't recall that. Yeah, I saw people like reporting it,
and I'm like, huh, I mean I followed that young
man since it was at Utah. He's from the South
Florida area, so it makes a lot of sense. He
him and a wide receiver and running back all actually
like left from the South Florida area to go to Utah,
(35:18):
which I thought was pretty crazy. I'm not even sure
they had ever been to Utah before they went, but
they all went together. Kyle Whittingham brought them in and
Tyler Huntley had a great career and he's done extremely
well for himself so far in the NFL with the
opportunities he's he's gotten. So I like the fit. I
like the potential of what this could be for Tyler
(35:41):
Huntley's career and also for the Dolphins. You know, we've
seen scholar Thompson in there. I'm not sure he's the
answer for whatever period of time that you know, two
is gonna be out, and it could be another week
or two before we see him back in there, depending
on the severity of this most recent concussion.
Speaker 1 (35:57):
And he's going to see neurologists this week, correct, I
think I saw that, and he's yeah.
Speaker 3 (36:02):
I would imagine we'll see the guys in Pittsburgh, doctor Morone,
doctor Mickey Collins. Those guys are true the leading experts
in all of this, so would be shocked if they're
not consulted. There's some other ones too, obviously, as always,
but those are two of the guys who I believe
invented the impact tests which almost every single athlete takes.
Speaker 1 (36:21):
Now, does he go guardian cap when he comes back?
Speaker 3 (36:26):
What about that? Like double shell one? Was it? Taylor Stubblefield?
He used to wear that? Mark Kelso Kelsa Kelsale was
Stubblefield back in the day for the forty.
Speaker 4 (36:37):
Nine erswhere there were a couple of.
Speaker 3 (36:40):
Ya, Taylor, she's Dana. I mean, how much more protection
does the guardian cap give you?
Speaker 4 (36:48):
I don't know. I've never used it. They weren't around
when I was around, so I don't they look like
they're they're you know, they work. I mean, guys, everybody
wears them in practice now I think it's like mandatory
to wear them in practices.
Speaker 1 (37:05):
So I don't know the problem with the Tua discussion
is when he does come back, because he's going to
come back and play.
Speaker 3 (37:13):
The likelihood of him playing.
Speaker 1 (37:15):
The rest of his career and just not suffering another concussion,
like it feels like it's going to happen again.
Speaker 4 (37:22):
So I don't want to put that evil on him.
But at the same time, I don't care what you do,
just putting putting yourself out there like that, there's no way,
like your brain is hitting your skull, it's not hitting
your helmet, it's.
Speaker 3 (37:37):
Hitting your skull.
Speaker 4 (37:38):
So if you get hit, I don't care if you
have a padded helmet on or a double helmet on
or anything like that. You hit the ground hard enough,
I mean, maybe it absorbs a little bit. Somebody hits
you on the side of the head, maybe it absorbs
it a little bit. But if it's shaking your head
and you can get knocked out, I would say as
(38:00):
easily as he was with the mar Hamlin's hit on him.
I just don't I don't know, man. It just seems
like they say they come easier after you get the
first one, Like that's they do say that.
Speaker 3 (38:13):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (38:13):
I'm not no you know, doctor or anything, but they
do say you get you get them easier, more frequent
after you do it once, more prone, more prone to it.
So I mean, I while I won't speak that evil
on them, you gotta believe if you playing that type
of game, unless he's not running and he's willing to
throw the ball away before anybody gets close to them,
(38:35):
the chances are he's going to get hit again. And
then now the question becomes if somebody hits him, what's next.
Speaker 3 (38:42):
Seems like what else we.
Speaker 10 (38:45):
Got lee guys in case you missed this, jonas you
had mentioned gimmicks in the world of sports. Well, as
things currently stand, the Mets are tied with the Braves
and the race for the wildcard final wild wild card
spot in the National League, only thirteen games remaining. If
you remember, they started the season pretty poor until they
brought in Grimace, the famous mascot from McDonald's, on June twelfth,
(39:05):
threw out the first pitch. Then they went on a
hot streak and that puts them where they are now.
Well now, in order to get some good luck, they've
invited Grimace back to throw out the first pitch. He
did so last night, and they've also given him a
commemorative a chair in the stands section three h two
sixth row are six ' one in row twelve a
nod to the date when things turned around for them
(39:26):
on June twelfth. So now there's a purple chair out
in that section for Grimace.
Speaker 3 (39:30):
What purpose did Grimace serve?
Speaker 1 (39:31):
And the whole McDonald's family, like, what was the point
like the hamburglar? Like like where did that even all
start from?
Speaker 4 (39:40):
Any Like?
Speaker 1 (39:41):
Is there any answers to this or is it just
some weird happy meal toy that they said, you know,
we should turn this into like a real character.
Speaker 10 (39:49):
Back in nineteen seventy one, as Evil Grimace, they brought.
Speaker 3 (39:52):
A who cares? I mean, honestly, what the hell are
we talking about?
Speaker 4 (39:55):
Ye?
Speaker 3 (39:57):
Who cares? Lee? What talking?
Speaker 4 (40:03):
He's a milkshake thief Grimace was was brought along to still.
Speaker 3 (40:08):
Shut up the second?
Speaker 2 (40:11):
How do you know that?
Speaker 4 (40:13):
Because I can read see that shoe, says Adidas. Who
knew I taught him that? Who knew?
Speaker 3 (40:24):
What else?
Speaker 4 (40:24):
All right, well, let's move on, guys. In case you
missed this.
Speaker 10 (40:28):
Eagles fans, of course, uh probably were listening to us
yesterday morning.
Speaker 3 (40:31):
How do I know?
Speaker 4 (40:32):
Because they were lined up at five.
Speaker 10 (40:33):
Thirty in the morning and getting ready to tailgate before
the game. So that's fifteen hours of tailgating before the
Monday night football.
Speaker 1 (40:41):
Think that's a bit excessive. It's a fifteen hours ahead
of the game. We're nothing wrong with that.
Speaker 4 (40:47):
You only get one time a week to enjoy it.
Speaker 3 (40:50):
It's a Monday, don't they They lost? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (40:53):
Yeah, but you know sometimes you gotta you gotta take
off for the game. I mean a Monday night home game.
Come on, home opener, Get a napping.
Speaker 1 (41:04):
I think you could work, do the nine to five,
you know, go get changed, you know, get over there.
You get an hour and a half before the game.
Speaker 4 (41:12):
Starts to do that starts like three four different radio
shows on one day, start sipping and ripping, and you're
the only dude that I know that has a nationally
syndicated radio show, but is the fill in for everybody
else's show because I'm a whore.
Speaker 3 (41:26):
It's weird. Man, What do you want?
Speaker 4 (41:28):
You know, have a little standard for yourself and get
around Godley little value man.
Speaker 3 (41:33):
Damn dang
