It all starts with the general manager, who should have

And I don't think Doug Peterson's doing a very good
job as a head coach. I mean, how can that
team at zero and two take that field and be
as flat and lethargic as they were. It makes no

Okay, the quarterback needs to pick up his play too,
but look at all the money they spent in the
off season on him. On Josh Heinz Allen, who was
a no show last night. You know, Tyson Campbell's hurt.
They paid him a boatload of money and you look
at it and you say, what do you get for it? Nothing?
They have nothing. That team is not very good. And
right now they go to Houston this week and they're
staring Owe four in the stage.

Pete, if you were to blame three things when you
watch the tape, you watch that team, what are you
pointing to?
Speaker 5 (03:21):
Well, it starts and actually this wasn't much of the
problem left by the offensive line isn't good. I mean,
let's be real. They brought back Mitch Morris is the
best offensive lineman. He's been their best offensive lineman the
first three games, and they brought everybody else back and
they thought, Okay, we can run it back Wall. No,
you can't run it back because they weren't very good.
You know, Sheriff at right guard is broken down. The
right tackle the rookies and regressed in a big way.

The left tackle has been an average player at best
his entire career, and they overpaid him. And then the
left guard is Cleveland is not a power player.

He's weak.

And so I think it all shows up on tape.
Everybody's spent up. They've spent a bunch of money on Kirk.
He probably did some stuff last night. I think Thomas
could be good. I think the offensive play calling is disjointed.

By the way, they won't say, is it Press Taylor?
Is it Doug Peters? It doesn't matter. You both stink
the play callin stink. It's not a good team right now.
And you know who can save that team? I think
ultimately in the end, because look if they go shod
concept before the season best team he ever had in
the history of the Jaguars, Tom Coughlin's Jaguars teams in
the nineties would have beat them by twenty is always serious.

It's just it's not a good situation. And me personally,

all the hell out of there and start.

we've talked about this before. Do you want Bill Belichick's
offense in there with Trevor Lawrence or do you want

a guy like Ben Johnson or young you know or
somebody like that, or he's gonna amp up the offense.
I mean, that's the question you got to ask yourself.
Bill Belichick arguably the greatest coach of all time.

in there also having input into personnel because Bill Belichick,
the general manager was dreadful. Bill Belichick the coach, got

to hire a general manager. He's going to make the
football decisions. You're going to coach football. You think Belichick will.

I doubt if you think urban Meyer's career and Jacksonville
was into about Trevor Lawrence.

got to give you credit, Pete, I mean you did

they were playing the Jaguars and Jacksonville had nothing going.

No, they're good.

That's a good team. That's a really good team. And
you know everybody talked about, well, where's the number one
wide receiver? Well, I think he wasn't a number one
wide receiver the last ten games either. And Josh Allen
and Joe Brady are now in sync. They have a
good offensive plan. You can see that. You can see
it's now Joe Brady's offense. You can see that Josh
Allen is out comfortable with it. Finally got the ball
to Kincaid, which I think, you know, I thought he'd

have a monster season. He's probably going to get there,
but a slow start. And then you got those receivers,
you can get the ball to them on the perimeter.
You know, the way they scheme it up. I think
it was really kelling last night. They did a great job,
you know, motion and and all that stuff. And I
think Joe Brady deserves the credit for what he's doing
with that offense. And Josh Allen right now is the
MVP period. He's the MVP of the league right now.

Having said all that, they go to Baltimore this week
and we'll see how they played this.

Pete, I got to ask you about the other Monday
night football game. We'll just start off with the Bengals
zero to three. It's surprising, I think, to most even
though they've been traditionally getting off the slow starts.

The defense was atrocious.

You chalcked up the Jade Daniels and Cliff Kingsbury and
they're hitting their performance. You got to give them some credit.
But where are you with this Bengals team? Is it
panic time right now? Are you hitting the button?

I think it's definitely panic time. I mean I thought
the defense would be better, and the defense played pretty
well last week against against Kansas City. So you're sitting
there saying, okay, well they'll come out and play pretty well,
great good football against Dan Daniel. They didn't. I mean,
they were bad, and I think a lot of busts,
a lot of guys open the bad, bad coverages. I
just think that they got problems on that team, and

Ken Joe Burrow and that offense overcome them. I don't
know if they can. The good news is the Ravens
only have one victory. The good news is the brown
stink uh and the Steelers are three and oh but
look who the Steelers beat. They beat They beat the
Falcons when they tried to get Kirk Cousins in the
pistol and he was a disaster. They beat the Broncos.
Who are you know? They beat Tampa the other they

beat them, Yeah, okay, and then they beat and then
they beat uh the Chargers. When Justin Herbert.

Went down, they knocked them out of the game.

He went down. He had an ankle injury before the game.
He probably shouldn't have played, and they knocked him out
of the game. They beat them, LeVar, don't give a

let me ask you this how good do you think
they are?

You know what's interesting about haters of the Pittsburgh Steelers
is that they used the same exact reasoning every single
time this team is winning, and then when they come
up short, because they do generally come up short, everybody's like,
I told you so, But it's not profound. Like the
Pittsburgh Steelers will generally get close or win their division,

they will generally get into the playoffs. They generally do
pretty well in the playoffs. Every once in a while
they'll win the super Bowl. But I mean, if they
lose in the playoffs, everybody's like, told you this, fool's gold.

You know, Pittsburgh gota that this and that. It's just
it's it's Steelers envy. I don't get it. I don't
get it, Steelers envy.
Speaker 5 (10:43):
No, the coach is great, Mike Tomas a great coach.
That's why they are what they are.

Before they hate Pete, they say, you know what, he's
such a great guy. He's such a great coach. And
then they use that word that haters use, but.

The butt is play the style of play, the style
of when you play this style they play, which is
to play really good defense, to be physical in offense,
and run the ball. The margin for error is very
swift and so so that's why there's always the butt.
But you yeah, and I'm going to butt them and
give them credit because you got to give him credit
for what they've done so far. I'm not taking away

from what they know. I said they'd be last in
the division, and Steelers haters are Steelers fans are coming
at me like crazy. I led with the power ranking.

wrong about them. They're better, but you know why they're
not going to be the best the worst team in

I was actually gonna go to talk about something that
Pete got dead on. He's been a big Jim Daniels
fan for a while, well not when he was at
Arizona State, but with what he did, l s U. Pete,
you Jade Daniels, I think best of anyone in this
quarterback class. That was impressive. There's nothing else you can
say that was incredible.

Last night. He's got to be up for Offensive Rookie
of the Year if they continue this. What have you
liked so far from.
Speaker 5 (12:13):
Jane Daniels, You know what, BRADYE and I said it
to the whole draft process. You know, you work with
me and we talked about it. He's the most most
improved player I've ever seen in the entire draft process,
from start to finish. You know, because I watched him
at Arizona State. He did some good things, but he
was erratic. He was he held onto the ball, he
ran too much. And then he gets the LSU and
he's an entirely different guy. And you talk to the

people at LSU, you talk to people in the league,
and the one thing that everybody said is he was
the first one in in the last one out. He
worked and he loved it. He lived and he wanted
to become great, and he had that it factor about him.
He had the swagger, he had the alpha dog in him,
and that's what you want your quarterback. And I always
thought it would translate to the next level. I thought
he would be the running stuff, he would stop running

as much, and now he's still good.

He can do it.

But eventually he got to end up thrown in the pocket.
But he was always a much better pocket thrower than
everybody gained credit for. And I think we're seeing that now.
He plays the game with an ease about him. There's
no you know, you you watch Caleb Williams and and
there's something ever, it's herky jerky. When you watch c J. Stroud,
it's usually not last week, but it's usually pretty easy,

and it's a flow to it. That's what you get
with Jayden Daniels. There's a flow to the way he
plays quarterback. He doesn't get rattled. Third and long. Oh well,
a fire shot in the middle of the field, we
get a penalty. Third and long, a fire shot down
the sideline. The guy doesn't get rattled. I think that's
the biggest thing about him. A.

got the mind for it. Like that could be a
landing spot for him. But it feels like his days

The last year thrown away because they spent money on
guards to try and help him, and they helped him
and he didn't help himself. And Andy Dalton goes in

that another indictment of how bad Bryce Young is just what's.

Go back and look last year, Pete, we talked about
this last year when Dalton. When Dalton played versus the Seahawks,
he lit it up and it was like it was
one of those games where you go, oh, all right,
well that they're they're capable of doing it, just made
with a different guy.

Yeah, and so is this the end for Bryce Young
in Carolina? Has to be? You can't bench him and
then come back to him. And I said last week,
I told you guys, I wouldn't have benched him. I
would have let a play out. They obviously knew more
than me, because uh, he's clearly a backup. And you know,
people say, well, maybe he can do the Bakers Baker
Mayfield treatment, or you know, go somewhere else and become
a good quarterback. I don't see it happening. I just

think at best, he's a bad up quarterback in the NFL.
And you know with Miami, you know, Miami's in a situation.
Now would Miami make some sense because whatever they have
behind Skyler Thompson got hurt Oil and everybody else, they're
not good either. So maybe something like that but I
just don't say, what do you give up for him?

What are you trading for Bryce Shawn? If you're a
team out there, what are you giving up for Bryce

work together on Sundays and I would buy them subs
and we always had our running jokes of basically Rick

Both? He had both and they were gone too. I mean,
it was amazing. The guy was a machine. And again
the stories you hear about Rick Spielman and Chris Fielman
are legendary on there, the stuff that they used to
do to each other. So I wouldn't surprise me. Their
dad was an old football coach. He put one plate
there in the winner eight and the other one.

the illness or the tonic is the New York Giants. Yes,
Danny Dimes looked a little better last week, but this
is also a team that can't run the football, and
I still don't think they're gonna be able to protect
him versus the Cowboys defensive front, even as bad as
they have been. And I think Dak and the Dallas

Cowboys who have owned the New York Giants. They won
the past six and they won thirteen of their last fourteen.
In this matchup, I'm either gonna win, They're gonna cover
the four and a half points spread, lay the four
and a half points with the Cowboys on the road
the next matchup, excuse me, army at Temple who would
have thought rby three to zero at this point in time.

about twelve points or so. So I'm gonna stay away from
this one. But Temple's really struggled this year, and I
think if you're looking at the combination of the offense
running an army kind of more slowing up, limiting the

They have nothing. That team is not very good. And
right now they go to Houston this week and they're

problem left by the offensive line isn't good. I mean,
let's be real. They brought back Mitch Morris is the
best offensive lineman. He's been their best offensive lineman the
first three games, and they brought everybody else back and
they thought, Okay, we can run it back Wall. No,
you can't run it back because they weren't very good.
You know, Sheriff at right guard is broken down. The
right tackle the rookies and regressed in a big way.

The left tackle has been an average player at best
his entire career, and they overpaid him. And then the
left guard is Cleveland is not a power player.

And so I think it all shows up on tape.
Everybody's spent up. They've spent a bunch of money on Kirk.
He probably did some stuff last night. I think Thomas
could be good. I think the offensive play calling is disjointed.

have a monster season. He's probably going to get there,
but a slow start. And then you got those receivers,
you can get the ball to them on the perimeter.

it was really kelling last night. They did a great job,

think Joe Brady deserves the credit for what he's doing
with that offense. And Josh Allen right now is the
MVP period. He's the MVP of the league right now.

a lot of guys open the bad, bad coverages. I
just think that they got problems on that team, and

improved player I've ever seen in the entire draft process,

ran too much. And then he gets the LSU and
he's an entirely different guy. And you talk to the

people at LSU, you talk to people in the league,
and the one thing that everybody said is he was
the first one in in the last one out. He
worked and he loved it. He lived and he wanted
to become great, and he had that it factor about him.
He had the swagger, he had the alpha dog in him,

thought it would translate to the next level. I thought
he would be the running stuff, he would stop running

in Carolina? Has to be? You can't bench him and
then come back to him. And I said last week,
I told you guys, I wouldn't have benched him. I
would have let a play out. They obviously knew more

people say, well, maybe he can do the Bakers Baker
Mayfield treatment, or you know, go somewhere else and become
a good quarterback. I don't see it happening. I just

think at best, he's a bad up quarterback in the NFL.
And you know with Miami, you know, Miami's in a situation.
Now would Miami make some sense because whatever they have
behind Skyler Thompson got hurt Oil and everybody else, they're
not good either. So maybe something like that but I
just don't say, what do you give up for him?

him versus the Cowboys defensive front, even as bad as
they have been. And I think Dak and the Dallas

the past six and they won thirteen of their last fourteen.
In this matchup, I'm either gonna win, They're gonna cover
the four and a half points spread, lay the four
and a half points with the Cowboys on the road
the next matchup, excuse me, army at Temple who would
have thought rby three to zero at this point in time.

about twelve points or so. So I'm gonna stay away from
this one. But Temple's really struggled this year, and I
think if you're looking at the combination of the offense
running an army kind of more slowing up, limiting the

fourth quarter from Army and Temple, Army's backups letting.

Temple just go ahead and have a heyday there in
the fourth quarter hit the over.

battle in Philadelphia, so we'll miss pointing.

There were eating last night here at the trophy room
at the Graduate and Lee kept looking up the TV
making comments about the Army game.

So he's got his priorities sailing up until the fourth quarter.

No, then then it just they let Temple go ahead
and grab a couple quick touchdowns to unfortunately hit the over.
Speaker 2 (41:27):
Yeah, I'll say this, that's think LeVar was not lying
about the travel from the.
Speaker 8 (41:33):
West coast to the east coast here.
Speaker 4 (41:34):
It was literally an entire day.
Speaker 8 (41:37):
Takes a day, Like we left the show at six
am Pacific.
Speaker 4 (41:40):
Time and got here at six pm Eastern time. What happened?

It was dark outside when you got here, and it
was the flights up there he came fly with I'm
not I'm not going to fly with them.
Speaker 4 (41:55):
Yeah, it's probably smart, LeVar. They probably pick a terrible
option whatever they do.

Yeah, and no, that's not why. I just couldn't get
a seat that I needed on their flight. So I
had to find the next flight out or a flight
that could get me in here the way I needed
to get in here. Q You know, I'm old man,
you know old bones. My knees are bad, my back

is bad. You know, if I get caught up in
the wrong situation, I won't be able to straighten my
body up. And I can't be walking around State College
looking like Quasi Moto. You know what I mean, so please. Yeah,
but that's the point though. I mean, I'm good because
I had a good seat, you know what I mean.
Speaker 8 (42:37):
By the way, I bought a neck pillow at Marshall's
for nine dollars.
Speaker 4 (42:42):
How'd you like?

It came in handy great, they're like forty at the airport,
so I felt like I saved money. And I slept
like three and a half to four hours clean.
Speaker 4 (42:50):
So you almost got through the whole flight then, Yeah,
the major flight pretty quick.

But yeah, he's going to a nice music festival is
out in Maryland on the beach.

Oh nice, Dave Matthews ban Oh nice. How many drinks
did you have? Yesterday on the plane for once you
got here. It's just all in total, oh, in total.

Speaker 8 (43:46):
By the way, when you say four drinks on the plane,
what do you what do you mean by four drinks?
Speaker 4 (43:50):
Well, four little mini bottles, so that wasn't that much.

And then I had a well, I had a bloody
Mary at the airport before getting on the plane.
Speaker 4 (43:56):
Of course it was a good bloody Mary. Thirty dollars,
bloody Mary. But was good bloody Mary. You got the
belly that can handle it.
Speaker 8 (44:02):
Thirty dollars, yeah, twenty eight to fifty.
Speaker 4 (44:05):
You're a bloody Mary. You're an absorber. Huh, you just absorb.
Speaker 8 (44:11):
I bring in masks, yes, yes, all right, stained mass.

That junk was funny the way he was yesterday. When
when League gets to snorting when he left, you know
it's real. Oh yeah, that's a sign, that's it's real.

it tapped up and everything, and then check it out.
I'll take two more of those. Like literally no regard

Yeah, he put on a show. So that that is
just night one of what can be expected here in
State College. And and from what we've heard from Pat
and Mark here, the place is only going to get
busier and busier. And it's home coming and then so
it's got it's the white out game, and now are
they doing They were saying, there's like the striped there's
like the blue stripe on the helmet for for.
Speaker 8 (45:58):
The white out, or how's how does it work?
Speaker 4 (45:59):
We always have a blue stripe on that now, but
there's like a special in the in the stadium. Yeah,
I'm not sure is that what it is?
Speaker 2 (46:07):
The blue stripe. I think that's what they were saying. Mark,
Is that where you were saying, there's gonna be like
so it's a white.
Speaker 9 (46:12):
Out energy, white out energy. It's not a white out
white out is not this weekend. It's white out energy, okay,
meaning we need to bring white out energy to this
and they want us to wear all white, so coach
Frank called for wearing all white. So it's they're bringing
back the ninety fourteen that you know, that's one of

one of the greatest teams to ever go on the
field for for Penn State. That's the team with Carrie
Collins and Cal Brady and Key Johnna Carter and all
those guys. You know, Marco Rivera, Jeff Harding's, Bobby Ingram,
you know, loaded team. Team was fricking phenomenal. Matt Millan,

but not Matt Millan, John Millan, excuse me, John Millen,
the fullback Whitman, John Whitman, Mike Archie.

They were loaded. That team was loaded.

They went undefeated if you remember. But Nebraska not what
not Nebraska? Somebody got it over us. Wasn't Nebraska. Was
Nebraska that got it? There you go, they felt bad
for tom Osborne. Was Tommy's turn. They would undefeate it.
And that was the team that had I believe was
that Lawrence Phillips was on that team. I want maybe

that's a Lawrence in Miami and the like the Orange
out of fact, Yeah, Tommy Fraser and all those guys.

Yeah. So, but it was one of the dopest teams.
Speaker 9 (47:40):
I mean, outside of like that what eighty eighty two,
I want to say, the National championship team with you know,
Bob White and and Shane Colin and all those guys.
Just one of the greatest football teams ever assembled in
the history of Penn State. So they'll all be back
here this this weekend. So that would be pretty cool

to see all those guys.
