Eastern times six o'clock Pacific, and we do so with
the man himself, the one and only Jeff Schwartz. I
(01:10):
am thrilled to be here as usual, and we are
like thirty six hours away from the first event of
the season we can gamble on, and that would be
the Hall of Fame game, And I cannot wait for that. Um,
I will take an extra nap tomorrow just to make
sure I can stay up to watch that game. Because
you know, nothing, nothing, nothing is more exciting than watching
(01:30):
the third string Cowboys and Steelers playing the fourth quarter
of the Hall of Fame game to see who covers. Yeah,
I listen, I cannot wait it. And we do have
a developing situation here because Dub who's in Nashville, we
call him a degenerate Dub. He also has a as
a little bit of an issue with the gambling. I mean, listen,
(01:51):
you know you're a degenerate when you're live betting the
match in Montana. Like when you're live betting in game
wagering the match in Montana where Tom Brady and Aaron
Rodgers are are going at it with Bryson d. Shambo
and Phil Mickelson, you might have a little bit of
a problem. Did you win? Well, no, I didn't do it.
Dubbed did it? Dubbed Dubbing Nashville did it. And he
(02:11):
actually has put together some prop bets for us on
the Hall of Fame game that he's going to release
later on in the hour. Wait, what I mean, why
didn't you gamble on the match? Because I'm not a degenerate.
I all gamble, but I'm not betting you. You're going
to gamble the Hall of Fame game. I think that
that the degenerate parts understood. A I'll take my chance
(02:34):
with Ben Danucci. I'm not betting on Aaron Rodgers to
hit a punt like I'm not. I know exactly why
do you think I did. I don't bet those because
that's an opportunity to win, and I didn't bet it.
I lost. I'm terrible at it. I told you this.
I'm not good at it. It just you know, I
pick and choose when I want to get down on
some action. No one's really good at gambling, though. You
(02:55):
should follow him on Instagram at Jeff Schwartz. I give
my daily baseball wagers. But besides that, it's actually good gamble. Actually,
for I bet on baseball daily, which is just the
most excruciating pain you could ever have in life. And
I've actually I'm actually up, which is just even more
excruciating than I'm actually decent. It this year. Well yeah,
(03:17):
well look, I mean yeah, because now you're going to
go back to the well as much as possible. Now
I have to do it every day like I was gonna.
I was hoping that I give up waging on baseball daily. Uh.
In the middle of twenty nineteen, I went to Europe
and it like ended my my baseball gambling for the year,
which is much needed. And then last year didn't do
it because the bubble was it was weird, and this
year I started doing again. I was hoping that I
(03:38):
would only do it a month. I would be so
bad as usual that I'd be done after a month,
and I just have done well this year, so now
I can't stop. Yeah, well, there is a there's a
situation that I want to run by you, because, as
you mentioned, you'd like to get down a little bit.
You like to throw it down some coin on on
some action, like to wager. So I just want to
(03:59):
present to you. We were talking earlier in the show, obviously,
we were talking about the Carson One situation. Quentin Nelson
also is now suffering from the same exact foot ailment.
I didn't know it was contagious. Apparently it is in
in in Indianapolis, and so the Colts find themselves without
their all pro left guard, they find themselves without their
(04:19):
starting quarterback for a decent amount of time, and so
there were rumblings, all right, what about Philip Rivers. Philip
Rivers is coaching in high school football. He said he
hasn't closed the door completely, but there may be he
may be open to potentially coming back to the NFL.
The right opportunity presented itself later in the season, so
it doesn't feel like it's going to be the Cults.
And then we were discussing the situation in San Francisco
(04:43):
between Jimmy Garoppolo and Trey Lance, and all that we
have heard is the forty Niners claiming Jimmy's our guy.
We heard from John Lynch earlier. He was on the
Adam Schefter podcast. John Lynch talking about, Oh, you know,
I think Trey Lance has gotten the best that a
Jimmy Garoppolo. It's the best, he's looked, the most in shape,
(05:04):
he's been like all of this stuff. Kyle Shanahan saying, uh,
Jimmy Garoppolo is gonna get all the reps with the ones.
It's not gonna be tray Lands, and you have been
consistent on this, Jeff. You feel like there's a real
opportunity for tray Lance to be the starting quarterback in
San Francisco sooner rather than later. Yes, Okay, the Niners
(05:27):
traded up a lot of draft picks for tray Lance,
so they clearly like him. Now you can make the
argument that maybe they trade up without the idea of
who they wanted. I disagree with that very strongly. So
the trade up to get tray Lance, which you want?
You want to play him, right, You want to play
the guy that you trade up for. Two is that
(05:48):
Kyla Jannon has seen for years mobile quarterbacks eat his
defense up. If you look at what Russell Wilson has
done and Kyler Murray just in his division, they tear
the Niners defense up. Now he has a mobile quarterback,
they can do the same. And in this offense that
we've seen, average trade quarterbacks succeeded at a high level.
(06:08):
Imagine having an athletic, high trade guy in this offense. Now,
train Lance has not experienced He did not play very
much in North Dakota State. But I kind of think
you want that that learning experience to happen as soon
as possible, so you're able to then build on, Like,
if you don't play them all a year, you're gonna
have to do that next year. Right, It's very rare.
(06:29):
What Pab Mahomes did, right, is that in the first
year of starting he makes the end of the NCT
Championship game. Typically it takes a little bit of time
to kind of figure out the NFL um and so
I just think we're gonna seem ston later. Conshanahan said
two days ago Monday, after the question, are starting to
be asked about Trey Lance being with the Ones because
(06:49):
he's had that code of a camp, he hasn't earned
reps with the Ones. Fairy answer by Colle Johan Right
Collins said this entire time, right, jonas that when Trey
Lance earned reps with the Ones, he'll go run with
the Ones lo and behold yesterday, Trance is running with
the Ones in a package designed for him. When you
(07:11):
start designing packages for quarterbacks, that means you want to
see how they do in those packages. Done of course, right,
But that's how it starts. Right, Trey Lance gets a
package and all of a sudden, in that package, he
gets a couple of passes, and those passes go really well,
and then it's okay, well, let's see him in a
in a different setting with the ones. Let's see how
(07:32):
he does in that situation, and it kind of snowballs
into getting a chance to play much sooner. It's just
like day five of camp, the first day in Paths,
and I already have a packaging the rookie quarterback. That's
how it starts, Guys. It starts slow like this because
it preserves Jimmy G's confidence. It allows them to continue
to keep the value up for a trade if if
(07:53):
that's the way they want to go. I think the
question is this, Jonas, if someone were to offer a
reasonable package for Jimmy G any team in the NFL,
would the Niners trade him to start trade lance now?
And the answer is yes, yeah, And also looked, we
can say, well no, I mean, there's nothing to see here.
(08:16):
Look you can it's obvious trade lance the quarterback in
the future. Everybody understands that trade Lance is going to
be the quarterback of the future. Um, what they're doing
also makes sense from the standpoint of I mean, Jimmy
Garoppolo has been healthy one year in his career, So
I mean, don't you want to have the guy ready
or at least have something there in case what usually
(08:39):
happens is Jimmy Garoppolo suffers an injury. So it makes
sense from that standpoint that they want to cover their
ass and and and and try and have a guy
ready to go if Jimmy Garoppolo suffers another one of
those injuries. And one of the things that we got
to stop doing. People gotta stop going back to and saying, well,
just do what the Chiefs did with Alexmith and Patrick
(09:00):
mahomes Man, Like you're you're expecting things that that aren't
what the forty niners have to be. What is going
to happen, Meaning you're expecting Jimmy Garoppolo to have an
m v P type season like Alex Smith had in
probably not gonna happen, all right, He's Jimmy Garoppolo is
(09:22):
not the same player as Alex Smith. And then also
you're expecting Trey Lance, to your point, to step in
and be the m v P of the league, go
to three straight conference title games, go to a couple
of suits that probably isn't gonna Those expectations are a
little bit out of Whack as well too, So it
feels like we're going back to to draw some comparisons,
(09:43):
and I don't think it's apples to apples between the two.
It's not. And you have to you have to um,
you have to look at every situation, you know, simply
by itself, right, and you look at at Alex Smith
had been far more successful in his time with Kansas City,
(10:05):
and Jimmy Garoppolo has been in ration in totality right now.
Jimmy g obviously made the Super Bowl. And I'll tell
you this. I go back this and I think I'm
exactly right on this. I said after the Super Bowl
when there were a little bit of grumblings about the
Nighters being up set with with with Jimmy Garoppolo. There
are two players in that game where that that Shanahan
(10:28):
moved off with Jimmy Garoppolo. Third and six. If you
remember third and six, they had a play design for Kittle.
It was basically a follow route, right, someone kind of
clears out, Kittle comes behind that player wide open first
down if he throws on the ball, sending through the
sanders in complete pass the second one. And I was
sitting right there, it's like the fifteen yard line, sanders
(10:50):
beat splits, the splits the corner and safety. He catches
the ball probably inside the five issue, gets tackled. Nana's
running out the clock, score touchdown games of her right,
they win the game. Those are two plays where Shanahan says, hey,
I designed the playwright. I called the playwright. The guys
were open, but they did not. They Jimmy Garoppolo did
(11:15):
not do his job, and so he looks at as like,
I can't trust this guy anymore. Plus he can't stay
healthy all those other reasons. Why so those two plays
moved him off of Jimmy Garoppolo. Of course, Alex Smith
had not been in situation before. But Alex Smith was
winning ten, eleven, twelve games every year and had played
multiple years a row being healthy. So the Chiefs signed
(11:37):
Pat Mahomes, draft the pants, let's just say, and Alice
continue to play. Well, it's the best season. But it
was working for them because they were winning the division
every year, right, so it made sense to let to
wait on Pat Holmes. Plus I think the Chiefs did
not really know what they had in Pat Mahomes in
this offense. Not It's not simpler but it creates easier
(11:58):
opportunities for quarterbacks six. See we've seen it. Look how
many quarterbacks that are average talent wise that are so
good in this offense? Baker Mayfield, right, would you agree
in the NFL traits wise worse yet middle of the pack, yeah,
middle of the pack. Yeah, but but he can play,
he can he can do some good things in this
in this offense. Middle of the pack. We saw in
(12:19):
this offense. We saw Matt Ryan have his best season
this offense. Nick Mullins and c. J. Bethorn at a
couple of games where they've played well. I mean, you know,
we're gonna be honest about it. I mean, yeah, like
like it is. And there there is a feeling that
that Kyle Shanahan can't get the most out of the
quarterback position. And so to your point, Trey Lance, who
(12:40):
all of a sudden, I mean, of all those guys
that you listed, Trey Lance is the most physically gifted,
right from a tool standpoint, oh by far? Yeah yeah.
And so you just wonder you pair those guys up,
you know, Tray Lance with Kyle Shanahan, and that that
mine and his ability to put it up put an
offense and design an offense together. There that that seems
(13:01):
like that's got a ton of a real opportunity to
have success in the league. Now here's here's where this
gets interesting. So if you go to Fox Bet, Fox
Bet gives you the opportunity to bet on starting quarterbacks
week one for their team, and the forty Niners are
one of the teams that are listed. So if you
(13:24):
had to guess, what do you think the odds are
that Trey Lance is the starter week one? Okay, it
was at plus one eight seven a week ago, meaning
if you bet a hundred dollars you would win, you
would win a d eighty seven. Right, it was at
plus one seven like a week week and a half ago,
(13:46):
because I checked it right now it's at plus three
thirty three. So even though all of this stuff has
come out and Trey Lance is getting installs and he's
getting an opportunity to play a snap with the first team,
the odds have now gotten worse for him being the
starter week one for the forty Niners. So if you
(14:06):
bet a hunterd bucks, you win three hundred thirty three
if Trey Lance is the starter week one. I gotta
tell you if you really believe Trey Lance is going
to be the guy and the forty Niners would be
comfortable moving off Jimmy Garoppolo based on whatever happens in
the preseason. That's some value, man, Like, there's some real
value in Trey Lances plus three three. I'm interested to
(14:29):
see why that moved like that. I mean interesting. M yeah,
that that does. That does give me a little bit
of pause. Now, huh um, I would have thought that, Um,
I know what I knew it was about plus three hundred.
I wonder if that first line wasn't very good. Well,
(14:49):
I mean it could have been, and there could have
been some people who jumped on Jimmy Garoppolo seeing that, Okay,
well maybe there's more value in Garoppolo being where the
where the line was that, because I think he might
have been like a minus to something and now he's
like over a six to one favorite to be the
starter week one, So it could have been to where
enough people got in on this and all of a
(15:09):
sudden the line started to move a little bit. But
if you feel like that's the guy that that that
that Trey Lance is the guy that's going to be
the starting quarterback, eventually that makes some sense. You've also
said that you like him to be the rookie the year,
that you think Trey Lance has got an opportunity to
be the rookie of the year, And if you go
by fox bet, and again there are a lot of
different odds that are out there for a lot of
(15:30):
different players in the NFL and things like that. But
if you just go to fox bet right now, Trey
Lance Rookie of the Year is plus five fifty. So
he's over a five to one underdogument rookie that's gone
in the direction of I think it was more like
a plus seven right after the draft dish. Here's the
reason why is again, if if he let's say he
(15:52):
plays twelve games of seventeen, let's just say twelve or
thirteen in that offense, he will put up a numbers
And you're looking at you know, Trevor Lawrence in in
in in Jacksonville, how good will he be in year one?
How good was that? I feel very confident that if
if Trey Lance gets to play in large majority games,
he will be good just because that offense, again is
(16:15):
so successful in creating opportunities for big plays and keeping
the quarterback safe. It's the best roster of all the
rookie quarterbacks. Any rookie arter Jacksonville is not bad though
that they're there. They have a decent amount of talent.
But you know, urban Meyer is an unproven NFL coach.
We know Sheanhangen coach. So that's why I think that
(16:37):
he makes the most sense if you're looking for a
little bit of value. And again I this, this is
the thing that bothers me about the way people talk
about value. Right, it's not about betting on long shots.
I guess argument the other day about about comeback Player
of the Year, Right, Dak Prescott should get You should
bet da Dak Prescott. Okay, he's gonna win the award,
(16:57):
and people were saying, well, Joe Burrows plus six hundreds
could have aw you. I go not if he's not
gonna win. I think about all things that have to
happen for Joe Burrow too, and one, Dack has to
get hurt, okay again, which is very unlikely. Right, quarterbacks
do not get hurt, especially horrific injuries like that multiple
years in a row. If he does play, even if
he's average, he's gonna throw yards thirty touchdowns. Right, it's
(17:20):
gonna have a great season. If he's above the average,
he's definitely winning the award. They have a great offensive
line who's healthy now, great weapons. Look McCarthy, say what
you want about him, but we saw a little bit
of of of ability to change what he does last
season even though Dak wasn't there. They're gonna the Cowboys
are gonna probably win the NFC East. I put my
money on that they're gonna be a playoff team. So
(17:43):
Joe Burrow then has to play better than an average
Jack Prescott in his second season. The Bengals probably have
to be a playoff team. They have to, you know,
you have to. You have to throw for five thousand
yards forty five touch like, look at all the things
you have to do to be better than Dak. So,
putting money on someone with a quote unquote val you
play because they are a long long shot odds, That
doesn't mean it's a good bet. You have to look
(18:05):
at the reasons why you're making a wager and just saying, oh,
pluses hundreds better than plus one seventy. Okay, sure, but
Doc is gonna win that award, not Joe Burrow. Yeah.
The payout being what it is, is the indicator that
it's probably not likely it's gonna happen like like that,
that and and people lose sight of that. They look
at it and go, well, if I if I bet
(18:26):
five dollars and and it pays me out of maseratio,
why wouldn't I take the chance. All right, but you're
most likely gonna be out five bucks. But I don't
mind that mindset of saying, hey, I'm gonna make that
wager knowing it's very much of a long shot. But
when people say there's value on this page, know the value?
You want to win your wager, right, Yeah, you don't
want to go for the most value that and and
(18:48):
plus six hundred. It's your point telling you it's a
long shot, but you have to think about all the
ways it has to happen. For example, I've been on
the Giants to win the NFC West. I do every year.
It's not a value plays, just I'm a Giants fan
and I pay off this year. I bet five dollars
five dollars, okay. I literally got five dollars plus fifty okay,
so I'll win like two fifty. That's not a value play.
(19:11):
It's me being a Giants fan making a wager like
I didn't think of it as a value player. Come on, guys.
So that's one thing I just I do not like
the way we talk about wagering in that way where
you have to pick you Oh, I'm gonna bet you know,
beck of Mayfield to win the m v PAS A
lot of value there. There's no value there. He's not
win an MVP this season. Why would you do that
to yourself? No, it's not happening. It's out kicked the
(19:32):
Coverage here Fox Sports Radio. Jeff Schwartz, Jonas Knox with
you here on fs are coming up next. A very
bizarre day for one fan base. We'll give you all
the details right here on out Kick the Coverage. This
this is OutKick the Coverage. I'll kicked the coverage here
Fox Sports Radio. He's Jeff short time, Jonas Knox with
(19:52):
you here on FS are coming up in we'll call
it a little over five minutes from now. We are
going to have the scraps things in the world of
sports we have not had a chance to get to
and they are yours here coming up just a few
minutes from now here on Fox Sports Radio. Um, we
were talking earlier in the show about how Dodger fans
were running their mouths making a big production. I mean,
(20:14):
many of them listening on the blowtorch of Fox Sports
Radio and five seventy l A Sports the flagship in
the home of the l A Dodgers, and then you know,
the Astros rolling to town and the Dodgers get shut out,
and I would say, well, you know, don't worry about
it if you're a Dodger fan, because at least your
Lakers made some really good moves and free agency. And
(20:35):
then Jeff, I can't figure out that one either. So
I'm just trying to see what the plan is with
the Lakers, you being a Laker fan. And then also
just the situation at Dodger Stadium last night, there were fights,
inflatable trash cans, baseball's being thrown out on the field.
Only to see your team get shut out by the
Houston Astros. Were imagine that they would have some issues
(21:00):
with fans being unruly. Um, look I did. I did
enjoy the trash cans being thrown on the field. UM,
A little a little less safe than than the beach
balls that normally go on the field at Dodger Stadium.
It looked like fans were actually in their seats to
start the game, which is a rarity. So everyone was
really excited for the game and then getting shut out
just you know, you hate to see them lose. Any
(21:22):
time that um that the Dodgers lose, it's it's heartbreaking
to me. So I was pretty pretty upset about that.
But yeah, man, I mean, they they they can't win
this series. Well, the Giants just took two or three
from Houston. I feel really bad if I was a
Dodger fan. Yeah, and uh, I just look at the
the situation in general, and I go, well, you know who,
(21:43):
who's going to take it too far? You know what
I mean? Like, like, who's gonna who's gonna get liquored
up enough to where they're gonna run out onto the
field They're gonna And this is the thing. Dodger fans
have been gassed up by people in the media talking
about how they're the victims and they've been wronged, and
all of that is true. They got screwed, we all
get it. But it's almost like I'm not saying that
(22:04):
they're encouraging it, but it's almost as if they're just
sort of saying, yeah, you gotta get even with the Astros.
This is your opportunity. You gotta get even with the Astros.
And Bill Platsky, who has been covering the Dodgers for
as long as anybody in Los Angeles, in this town,
for the l a times. You know, he was even
tweeting out just talking about how ridiculous the fans were being,
(22:26):
I mean, every like an Astro player. And then first
of all, I think this is kind of funny. It's dangerous,
but it's kind of funny when an Astros player would
hit a foul ball into the stands, Dodger fans are
throwing it back, which is that. I mean, it's kind
of funny. But again, you know, whenever there's objects being
thrown out of the field, it just at some point
you gotta move on. Man, you got screwed. Everybody knows it,
(22:49):
but you gotta move on. So did they throw the
ball over the nets back on the field. I think
that goes all the way around the field now, right,
And I don't think he goes completely around, like like
down the third and first base line. There's no net
at a certain point, So I think all the way
down now though it doesn't like like in San Francisco,
it does because all the way because they play the
(23:11):
ball off the net. Now, like if the ball gets
thrown or hit off, it gets thrown, it's played off
the net. I think that from third base to the
foul pole there's no netting. Okay, yeah, there's I know
that because I was watching the game of today and
they overthrew a ball at third base in a ball
(23:32):
ricochet off the net and they played it by the way.
Had somebody had somebody get inflatable trash cans in Like
where do you put that that? Like inside your sock?
Like how how does that breakthrough security? Like, like what
are they doing this? Obviously they blow it up when
they get security was told not to work last night.
Come on now, I like, just let him in the
trash cans and let him in the batteries in. I mean,
(23:53):
Roberto's in tomorrow. I believe we could ask him about
how he sneaks batteries and dogs. I mean, you know,
it will see if he's in. I mean, depending on
his behavior of some of these games. We're hoping that
he's gonna be in, but we will have eyewitness accounts
as to everything that he saw, because I know Roberto
did send out a tweet that there were more hits
in the stands than the Dodgers had all game last night.
(24:15):
So if the Dodgers don't win this series, that's pretty bad,
I believe. So I think he makes his Yeah, I
think he comes out Wednesday, Wednesday night, Max schers or
experience coming up later on the night at Dodger Stadium,
and uh so, yeah, we wait to see you how
that all plays out. He's Jeff Schwartz on Jonas Knocks.
(24:37):
It's out. Keep the coverage here Fox Sports Radio. Coming
up here in fifteen minutes from now, we will get
you primed for the Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio.
It is the first real football game of the season.
Yes we mean real football game, and we will get
you set up for that in a very unique, um
and uh disturbing way. All disturbing is the word that
(24:59):
I will use. We'll get into that fifteen minutes from now.
Right now, though, it is time for something we do
on the show called this How could you not get to?
These stories are the scraps And for that we turn
it over to Danny g Our, executive producer, to find
out what the hell we've missed so far on the show. Danny, alright, fellas,
(25:19):
let's start in Japan. Eddie Garcia mentioned the score, but
you guys didn't have a chance to react yet. The
US women's basketball team, which by the way, Jeff's probably
interested in this first story because he's gambled on the
w NBA before, they didn't want any drama Wednesday, playing
with an all business like approach as they took out
(25:40):
Australia easily sev in the Olympic quarterfinals. Now, I guess
they were kind of worried about it because last month
in Las Vegas, the Aussie's stunned the Americans in an
exhibition game, making a huge second half comeback to pull
out what looked like a statement victory. In fact, the
women's team kind of struggled a little bit after that,
(26:01):
but not this time. Brianna Stewart played her first Olympic
game of her career. She scored twenty of her twenty
three points in the first half to help the Americans
knock out the Aussies easily. Their streak. Their winning streaks
now fifty three games. They play Serbia, who upset China
on Friday fifty three straight games? U jesus, I mean,
(26:24):
so what we don't count what happened in uh in Vegas? No, No,
that was just seating. Okay, so actual Olympic basketball fifty
three straight games? I mean, did the dream team even
do that? Like? Did did the men's team like like
win fifty three straight? I would assume that they did,
But that seems like a significant amount, Like I don't
(26:47):
know if the men's have even had that much success
just thinking about it. Yeah, but I mean they're the
odds on favorite obviously, and uh and they'll be you know,
probably taking it taken into gold. I haven't wagered on
any Olympics yet. This might be my first wager if
you find it here on the air. Let's talk about multitasking.
(27:10):
Look at you. And by the way, I used the
wrong effort. It was Brianna Stewart's finest Olympics team, not
the first. So the USA is favored by twelve and
a half points. Well, they're gonna play Serbia, who upset
China in Friday semi final. Yeah they just beat up straight, Yeah,
they just beat This game is still up though, Oh no, No,
you're looking at the men's. Yeah, it didn't say it
(27:31):
doesn't say anything that men or women's are just as Olympic. Okay, yeah,
so okay, so I gotta find some um here women's basketball.
You're in the unisex its room, so USA, it's very
by seventeen and a half, I feel like I have
to lay the points there. I'll do that. Okay, lay
the points seventeen seventeen and a half. I haven't watched
a single second of this, but I'm gonna have a
bet on it right now. Yeah, that's it. That's miserable.
You're gonna lay seventeen and a half points in a
(27:53):
in a game. You're not gonna watch which which point?
Good point. It's just it's just to make some money,
I know. But it's entertaining, like like like watch like
you know, you don't want to watch him be entertained
like that's that's that's part of the fun. Olympics Soccer
odds USA Australia for the goal for the I don't
bet soccer. I can't do that. It's too bad. It's
(28:16):
an opportunity to make some money there too, all right.
While Jeff calls his bookie Tampa, not long before he
turned forty four. Yesterday on Tuesday, Tom Brady took a
handoff out of the backfield. He tucked the ball, he
dashed forward, then he mimicked Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott
Spoon to the mouth feed me gesture as he jogged
(28:37):
back into formation. Brady wasn't even practicing on his birthday,
but he was having fun out there to entertain the
crowd of several hundred onlookers, which Tom Brady and by
the way, Ronald Jones gave him a seven out of
ten on the feed me impersonation. Which Brady, do you
guys like better this one goofing around in practice or
(28:57):
the one a few days ago who rolled there's entire
offense under the bus saying that they're terrible in practice? Right,
the one a few days ago? Because I just love
I love when people get upset about that. Like, like,
teammates aren't allowed to have disagreements or get on each
other in practice. Everybody's got to be nice to each other.
He doesn't remember when he was yelling at his teammates
on that Thursday night game against the Bears last season.
(29:20):
Everyone said, oh my God, how can he talk to
his teammates like that? How can they put up with that?
And then they want a Super Bowl and everybody's carrying
him out like he's the dead guy from weekend to
Bernie's on the Bow parade, Like come on, man, way
too over dramatic. Some of these people, ridiculous people do
get fired up over old old Tom Brady. I like
the one when he fired the yelling, screaming is definitely
(29:40):
the one I like because that is the one that
people get most upset a especially when his voice hits
that falsetto. And by the way, I would love today
and I don't even know if anybody has researched this,
but he no nobody executes a better quarterback sneak than
Tom Brady. So you talk about him getting the end
off and him, you know, in practice and having fun
(30:02):
with it. I would love to know what his conversion
rate is on a quarterback sneak in his career. I
would say in the nineties, it's gonna be that's the one.
And it seems like every single game there's if there's
a fourth and short, a third and short and they
need to pick up that yard, it's not even a question.
(30:24):
Get up to center, snap it and let me get
this yard and then we continue to drive. Everyone knows
tost incredible thing. There's no surprise to what Tom is
about to do. Yeah, I would love to know the
conversion rate on that on his on his quarterback sneaks.
We we have people that can find that, probably not
on this show. Don't we have a Don't we have
a researcher on this show, Danny. Yeah, but he's doing
(30:45):
the scraps right now. Alright. Finally, you guys are both parents?
You like this? A pair of New Jersey parents are
adjusting to a major change after giving birth to a
set of rare identical tree uplets at a Pennsylvania hospital.
Parents Mark bow Drag and Gabby Moskara, of New Jersey,
(31:07):
um they were shocked when doctors told them they were
expecting identical triplet girls. I kind of walked in circles
for about twenty minutes, the dad said, as he recalled
the story to w p V I t V. Doctors
told the parents they were dealing with a highly unusual situation.
They're from the same egg, sharing the same placenta with
three separate amniotic sacs, said bodrog the Hospital of the
(31:29):
University of Pennsylvania and Philly stepped in and offered to
provide prenatal and delivery care. They said, you guys are
coming here, we want to do this pregnancy. It's so rare,
highly highly risky. Bow Drag said. Estimates vary, but the
odds of having identical triplets have been said by medical
experts to be between one and sixty thousand and one
(31:51):
and two million triplets. Anastasia, Olivia, and Nadia were born
July eight at thirty four weeks and five days, each
baby weighing in just over five pounds. I mean, the
first thing I think of is how expensive that is
they'll be able to do. I think fundraisers to help
(32:12):
them out. I agree with you, the expenses is but like, jeez, triplets,
I mean, twins sound very tough. Oh yeah, I have
a buddy who had twins a few years ago, and uh,
you know, it's one of those like before I could
even ask are you going to have more? They just
said f no, no, no, Like I couldn't even not
(32:36):
even not even worth the discussion or me asking the
question because of how much work that involves. And then
you add another one, and they're identical, and at some
point you're gonna call one of them the wrong name,
right I would? I mean yeah, And so now they
got that one that you may call the wrong name,
is now going to think for the rest of their life,
(32:57):
all does he not care about me because he called
me the wrong name? And now you've got to answer
those questions and deal with that for the rest of
your life. I mean, that's it's a tough spot to
be in. Manuld you name all three kids like with
the same letter, Yeah, I would think so, like in fact,
you know what, you know what I would do, Like
you just go Marie, Mary and Maria that way. That
(33:19):
way if if you call them one of the wrong
name and they say you called me Mary, I'm Maria,
and you just say, no, no no, you heard me wrong.
I said Maria. Like that's that's the movie. You just
gotta have it be close enough to where there's no
If there's confusion, you have an out there, a little
bit of an excuse. God speed to those parents, kid,
and congratulations, you won't sleep for many years. I imagine
(33:41):
it's over. Um, it's over. My kids are five and
seven and people are like, do you want another one.
I was like, no, we passed the state of For example,
like I I can wake up in the morning, whenever
I get up, come and do the show. My kids
can wake up and just watched without meat, like without
(34:01):
them coming in being like hey what do I do that? Like,
you know, they can get themselves breakfast. It comes out
serial this morning, like I don't want to go backwards. Yeah,
it's a it's a tough spot, you know, but you know,
congratulations on the healthy babies. Uh and um, you know,
thoughts and prayers to the sleep and the bags under
the eyes that will come along with the three of everything,
(34:22):
the three cribs and the three card seats and the
three oh boy. It is out kicked the coverage Here
on Fox Sports Radio. Jeff Schwartz Jonas knocks with you
here on FS are coming up next a special look
ahead at the first game of the NFL season and
a very disturbing one at that. We'll get into that
(34:43):
next year. It's outkicked the coverage Fox Sports Radio. This
is outkicked the coverage. Hey, this is Jason McIntyre. Joined
me every weekday morning on my podcas Asked Straight Fired

(35:28):
I'll kick the coverage here Fox Sports Radio, Jonas Knox
and Jeff Schwartz. We are going to be back tomorrow
six am Eastern time, three o'clock Pacific, right here on
Fox Sports Radio and a game day edition about kicker coverage.
Jeff Schwartz with the Hall of Fame game between the
Cowboys and the Steelers kicking off tomorrow, the first football
(35:49):
game of the season. Uh and to get us prime
for that, we have got Dubbed in Nashville. We've been
talking about potential prop bets. We didn't have any prop bets,
official ones available, so Dub decided, you know what, I
can be your degenerate, all right, I I can swim
in this mud. And so Dub you have identified some
potential prop bets that we can take advantage of for
(36:10):
this Hall of Fame game coming up on Thursday night.
That's correct. And you know, I've been surfing, surfing the
internet far and wide looking for some actual prop bets.
Haven't found any yet. I'm hoping and praying, as we
all are, that there will be some official ones up
tomorrow before the game starts. But I got a few
fun ones, some that may or may not actually be real.
We'll see tomorrow. But here we go. Big Ben and
(36:31):
Dak not expected to play, But which of the two
starters will get more TV time on Thursday night? Deck
at minus one thirty I'm posting it and Big Ben
at plush Dak for sure? Yeah, I think, man, Yeah,
I think it'll be Dak. But you know, if you
think about it, the Roethlisberger is a story too, because
(36:53):
this could be I mean, like any year could be
his last year, and and so we're not we're not sure,
you know, I would Dak here. Um, They're gonna have
so many stories on his comeback from injury, and and
also Fox is doing the game, and and the Cowboys
are a big draw for Fox. So yeah, I think
it makes sense to go with Dac on that one.
(37:13):
That makes sense speaking of a big Ben's story, though,
how many times will the broadcast mentioned big Ben's weight
loss slash lifestyle change. I'm putting that one over under
four and a half mentions over you gotta play he
even even is he even that much smaller? No, it's great,
(37:36):
I don't. I mean, look, he remember when the Packers
tried to make Eddie Lacey lose all that weight and
they were like, or it might have been the Seahawks,
one of those teams try to make him lose a
bunch of weight. And I was like, dude, this is
this is when he's most effective. Ben Roethlisberger's most effective
when he's big. So just let him be big and
let him finish out his career like he started it.
(37:59):
But I feel like they're gonna this is gonna be
a topic of conversation though throughout the course of the game.
It will definitely be the funniest to me. Like, just
like stay Fat's Paublo Santoval for the Giants, he lost
weight one year, was awful, that came back to camp
just super fath next year, just started mashing again. Yeah,
sometimes just meant to be a little bit big. It's okay,
(38:20):
it's a good thing, alright. Last one for today, and
we'll see how these go tomorrow. First interception of the game.
There's gonna be a lot of backup quarterbacks playing in
this game, ranging from Mason Rudolph all the way down
to our guy Ben d Nucci. Uh. First interception, though,
I'm making Dwayne Haskins a heavy favorite. This is just
Dwayne's Haskins for the field, all right, Dwayne Haskin to
(38:43):
the field. First of all, that's cruel for a guy
who got his his his face broken, uh in a
domestic dispute in Las Vegas a few months ago. This
is not that. That's not a nice thing to do.
And Dwayne Haskins was and and and reportedly he's looked
pretty good in camp, shockingly good. That's that's according to
us some people out there, Um, Dwayne Haskins in the field.
(39:05):
I'll go to the field because you're you're gonna get
some some good options here. I feel like I'm gonna
be nice to Dwayne Hutchkins. He's had a rough gull.
Go Dwayne Haskins. Yeah, we're gonna we're gonna get our
fair share of Mason Rudolph, Dwayne Haskins, Josh Dobbs, Gerett Gilbert,
Cooper Rush, and Ben de Nucci. It's gonna be I
must watch second half. What that makes me want to
watch the game even more now? I mean, I can't wait?
(39:26):
Oh God, losing sleep to watch the Hall of Fame game?
Is is a tradition? Yes, yes, that is how this works.
It's just like when you stay up late to watch
a Monday night game. I don't care. The Hall of
Fame game and a Super Bowl the same to me.
It's the preseason for me too. I didn't get my
my stammin up for staying up staying up late. By
the way, you're gonna do squares for the Hall of
(39:48):
Fame game like at the Super Bowl or No, there's
not too much. I mean, I just want to know
what's the limit before you realize you've got a football problem.
That's all I want to know.
