Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Michael Barry Show.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Recently, I received a call from a woman named Monica,
and she was a voice. I've said this before, so
if you think you're listening to a podcast you already heard, No,
I'm introducing the same person again, just a different podcast.
She represented a voice that I believe is a very
common voice in America, but you don't see it on TV.
(00:24):
And that is a woman who is a wife and
a mother and those two things drive who she is.
Now does that make her less than a woman who
goes to work every day in a corporate job. Absolutely not.
In fact, she had a high powered corporate job, and
(00:46):
like my wife, she chose to step out of that
and focus on the family exclusively. That's not a judgment
if you are still in the workplace. But I'm tired
of women being judged who choose to leave the workplace
as if they're lazy or dumb, dumbs, or irrelevant or
not putting their talents to use because they are. I
(01:10):
was raised by a stay at home mother. It took
a huge toll on our family. It would have been
much better financially if she went to work, but she
stayed home and raised us, and it made a world
of difference for me. Every family should get to make
that decision for themselves. But I'm tired of people dismissing
(01:33):
or insulting women who choose to stay home and their
idea on what good policies they want for this country
or what is good for their children and their husband
and their finances. And that voice needs to be heard.
So Monica did a podcast for us. She just recorded.
We went back and forth and when we talked it
(01:54):
through and she's finding her voice, and I said, if
you'll send them, I'll play them. I want to amplify
more voices, particularly voices that are not being heard enough of.
So if you like it, send me an email and
I'll forward it onto her. If you have show ideas,
if you hear it and want to interview her, If
(02:17):

Speaker 1 (02:41):
So this week our family celebrated my oldest son's eleventh birthday.
We reminisced about the day he was born, the excitement
and nervousness because he was an emergency C section, but
mostly we were just so thankful he was healthy and
that we've been able to be with him these eleven years.
This is quite the contrasts from this week's DNC convention,
(03:03):
where abortion was not just an issue to be discussed,
but actually celebrated. For me personally, it really brought to
light just how much women are willing to sacrifice for abortion.
And I'm not just talking about their unborn baby. By
making abortion the one and only issue some women are
choosing to vote on, they're telling the world that they
(03:26):
care about one thing and one thing only, and that's themselves.
They don't want to ever be inconvenienced or burdened by
another life. And if we're honest, this is truly how
the left views pregnancy and motherhood as a burden, not
a gift, a precious gift bestowed on women by God
(03:48):
since creation. They want young women to see motherhood and
family as a thing of the past, who will only
get in the way of your plans. But in reality,
a vote for abortion is a sacrifice to one who
may never know what true love is the love of
a child, because there is nothing more christ like than that,
(04:08):
because children love you at your worst. There are moments
I've gone to my kids in tears because I've said
something I shouldn't have to them. I've raised my voice
in their response, It's okay, mommy, I already forgot about that.
You're the best insert hug. Talk about a humbling moment.
(04:29):
My kids challenge me to be a better person every day,
which then makes me a better wife, a better friend,
a better employee, and a better daughter. As a daughter,
I've recently had to spend a lot of time helping
my parents as that they've gotten older. There are times
I've had to play more the parent than they have,
and mother had just prepared me for that. So a
(04:51):
vote for abortions sacrifices the wisdom learned from having to
make sometimes very hard choices for people other than yourself.
A vote for abortion takes away the opportunity for men
to become fathers. We're so busy trying to turn men
into women and to make them less manly and less
aggressive per the left. You want to see a man
(05:12):
be vulnerable and humbled. Place a baby in his arms,
have him change a diaper, have him hold his wife
in his arms as she cries to postpartum. My husband
did all of this for me, and it was amazing.
I pray all young women take a moment to really
visualize what they want their future to look like and
if a vote for abortion is worth the sacrifice.
