Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, good morning. Where the llen k Morning? Jo Am Ellen,
I'm Ryan Mana.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Hello, I'm Social Queen Darline.
Speaker 1 (00:05):
Good morning, I'm producing Mike Grandmos.
Speaker 3 (00:06):
All right, here we go and do another day. We've
got Disney, We've got money, guys.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
I have a question for you early morning discussion. So
I thought it was so funny. Yesterday was make someone
Happy Day. So my friend posted that she went to
Starbucks and somebody decided to pay it forward. They paid
for her drink, and she was like, on a time crunch,
she dropped her mom off at an appointment. She was like,
I just wanted to go grab a quick drink to
get me going for the rest of the day. I'm
(00:32):
kind of rushing. I'm caught off guard. I'm like, oh,
that's so nice that they paid for my drink. Well,
then the barista asks, so do you want to pay
it forward? And she's like, and I didn't have the
quick response to say yes or no. I look in
my mirror. There's a van behind me. I see a
bunch of people in there. And she's like, I got nervous.
I drove off.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
Oh, because she.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
Was under the assumption that there might be a lot
of drinks with this order.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
Yeah, well, I would say a van full of people
there might be like one for hour everyone. So what
do you do.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Do you just not even look and say, yeah, I'll
pay for it and then take maybe a possibly eighty
dollars tab or.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
Do you pay it forward with one of the drinks free?
Speaker 4 (01:11):
That's what it is. Okay, you pay, you pay for
the same. That's a good resolution that they paid for you.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Okay, yeah, that's a good one.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
Like you know, I was going to spend five, let
me put five on there.
Speaker 4 (01:21):
Yeah, yeah, that's smart.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
Yeah, that's that's a good response. She drove off, drove
that chain. She was shocked, She was in a hurry.
I get it.
Speaker 4 (01:30):
I thought it was hilarious.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
She probably just was like wait, what what you know?
What I mean?
Speaker 4 (01:36):
You know, it's another, honestly, another good thing to do.
Now that she's sitting with that guilt and blame, she
couldn't just go back when she has more time and say, listen,
something really crazy happened earlier. I panicked and I left.
Can I start a new chain there?
Speaker 3 (01:49):
That's a great idea, just so the karma is good.
And by the way, just to use the drive through window.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
Go in if you can. I know why if you're
in a hurry.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I just thought it was so funny.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
She was so stressed out about it.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
Thank you for being afraid.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
Yeah, see, I never get used to it. I've been
doing this for twenty something years. I never get used
to it.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
It feels like a door slamming on your head every time.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
Well, I wouldn't say that.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
I mean I enjoyed getting up early, but I never
get used to it.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
I always have to, you know, set a snooze.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
Yeah okay, but Lolita, happiness hack Ryan, which you got?
Speaker 4 (04:42):
Okay? So I went to the dentist and the dentist
was telling me that she loved essential oils, and I said, omg,
I'm big into cential oils. We have a whole collection
here in the studio. She said, for the healthiest gums.
If you want like your gums to never recede, if
you want to bring them back, just rub a Regano
cential oil on your gums every morning.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
What yep, are you kidding?
Speaker 3 (05:04):
No?
Speaker 4 (05:06):
Essential oil and it just like makes your gums just
full as the day you were born.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
Wow, all gums.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
So don't swallow your Teethlita, how.

a therapy Thursday. So what a perfect Q and A
for Thursday. Therapists are begging couples to break this bad habit.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
What do you think it is?
Speaker 3 (08:09):
Ryan blaming? Just blaming, blaming. Oh, you are the king
of blame. I mean you don't blame people. You've been blamed.
You've received that, You've been on the receiving in so
many times.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
Are you okay?
Speaker 4 (08:21):
Not really, but you have.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
I witnessed it too, and I was like, God, I.
Speaker 4 (08:28):
Couldn't, couldn't, couldn't get it right.
Speaker 3 (08:30):
Ever, you're out of the blame game now, sure, and
I'm very happy and I don't.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
Blame you for.
Speaker 10 (08:38):
Well.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
Therapists are begging couples to break this bad habit. It's
swapping date nights for takeout in TV. And that's something
that I do all the time. My husband will let's
go grab sushi, let's go to this new restaurant downtown LA.
Speaker 4 (08:50):
And I'll be like, well, but he makes it. It's
a little more than that. If I may, he makes
the reservation. Yes, okay, he lets you know like a gentleman,
just gives you so much heads up. We're talking like
a on a Tuesday. I know he's got the Hey,
we're going to this new place. I've made the reservation.
It's great. And you get home and just drop the bomb.
(09:11):
You do the noise, and you put on your sweatpants
and you just look at them and go.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
Oh, can we just watch Echo Valley?
Speaker 11 (09:18):
So good?
Speaker 4 (09:19):
Next time you have a reservation going to waste, I
will go with you.
Speaker 5 (09:21):
Yes, thank me.
Speaker 3 (09:22):
Yes, Well, it is what I do, swapping date nights
for takeout on TV. I'm sorry, hubs, that is your
Q and A. Therapists are begging couples to not do
what I do, and that is to swap date nights
for take out TV.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
And I might add sweats on that on the couch.
Speaker 3 (09:38):

Hi Janna, Hi, Hey Johanna.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
So you met your love on Facebook dating just seven
months ago?
Speaker 1 (10:08):
Yeah, tell us about it.
Speaker 12 (10:10):
So I was just kind of throwing to Facebook and
I just kind of noticed. I'm like, what is this
little like dating icon on the bottom, And I clicked
on it and I was like, you know, I'm just
going to take a chance. Just had a good feeling
about it, and then within about six hours I had
met my boyfriend Gabriel, and then you've been together ever since.
Speaker 4 (10:28):
Wow. So like you were fishing in the first line
you threw in the water.
Speaker 12 (10:33):
That was it pretty much. I think it was just
meant to be. Like I'm not a big app person,
and it just kind of felt right. I clicked on it,
went for it, and it's been I don't know, how
to sed. I don't know. It's just been that way since.
Speaker 3 (10:45):
What are the chances, what are the odds you find
him and then he's also into you. It's like you
guys were destined to find each other exactly.
Speaker 12 (10:53):
It was perfect.
Speaker 8 (10:54):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
I didn't know there was Facebook dating.
Speaker 12 (10:57):
Yeah, I didn't either. I was just kind of frolling
around little icon on the bottom and.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Well, lucky you, Johanna and Gabriel. Thank you.
Speaker 11 (11:10):

Speaker 5 (11:26):
I'm so happy to bey here.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
Thank you for having me.
Speaker 11 (11:29):
Ellen.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
Well, we always love when you stop by because we
have a talk back today that we want to play
for you.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
Listen to this.
Speaker 5 (11:37):
So I heard your letter yesterday.
Speaker 14 (11:39):
And my husband is also doing something that's concerning me lately.
He's been putting so much effort into planning guys weekends,
golf trips. He's going to Kansas City to see the Dodgers,
just like extra stuff that he's never done before. I
feel like he's excited to get away from me.
Speaker 5 (11:53):
Is this normal?
Speaker 1 (11:55):
And am I just overthinking? Okay? So that is Vicky?
Speaker 3 (11:59):
Okay, so so Vicky and was also referencing there was
another husband who is getting close with a neighbor, just
like husband problems, right, right, So what I heard in
that is that he's doing things he never used to
do before. Yeah, so I think that sends up a
red flag. Maybe not with his actions, maybe it's totally innocent,
(12:21):
but it's a change in the relationship, right.
Speaker 13 (12:24):
Yeah, there's definitely a change, and that's what she's seeing,
and she feels uncertain about it. Something about it feels
I think she's perceiving it as neglect when it may
just be I don't know, him embracing different parts of himself.
He's moving outside of his comfort zone. Oh, and I
(12:48):
think that can actually be a good thing. It's maybe
an opportunity for her to move out of her comfort zone.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
Oh so you feel like it's an innocent thing, but
that she needs to do the same thing he's doing.
Speaker 13 (13:05):
In a way, I think that there is such a
thing that we can practice called healthy detachment.
Speaker 1 (13:11):
I like that.
Speaker 13 (13:12):
Yeah, it's when it's not about being cold, it's not
about withdrawing. It's just about taking our emotion, our projections
out of a situation. It's how we keep clarity. And
he's putting effort into these other things. I think it
could be an opportunity for her to put some effort
into herself.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
Oh wow, so you think it's on the up and up.
There's no ill will here.
Speaker 13 (13:36):
It's on the up and up until it's not on
the up and up.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
Right, And so far she has no reason to believe
that it's not exactly right.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
Just like when the eagles fly out of the nest,
say let him go right, let him go and see
where he lands.
Speaker 5 (13:49):
Yes, encourage him, encourage.
Speaker 13 (13:51):
Him to do these things.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
Uh huh, and take.
Speaker 13 (13:53):
Care of your own line.
Speaker 4 (13:55):
Also, And no one said this yet, And I'm just
going to say it. Maybe this is why I'm single.
But sometimes we just it's annoying to be around you.
Speaker 1 (14:04):

I met my husband ramon one at the mall.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
At the mall. The mall okay, wait which mall and
what store?
Speaker 8 (15:33):
Okay, well, this would have been in Tucson, Arizona. The
mall is called al Con Mall, and I was working
in a store called Gallen Camp Shoes back in nineteen
eighty four. If you guys remember Gallen Camp.
Speaker 3 (15:48):
Shoes, I'm trying to remember, but that doesn't matter. It's
a shoe store.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
You were there. Did he did he come in to
buy some shoes?
Speaker 8 (15:57):
Absolutely? It was December fifteenth, and he was actually out
Christmas shopping with his cousin, and when he saw me,
he told his cousin I have to Actually he had
come in to ask about a particular pair of shoes,
and I said, no, we don't have those ones, but
I think Kenney's shoes, which was anyways, I sent him
(16:19):
to Kinney's and then he came back and he had
he shared with me that he had told his cousin,
I'm not leaving until I get to know her. And
so then my manager told me, MONI could take your
break because when he came back in. Someone wanted to
talk to me, and so I said okay. And I
had layaways around the mall because it was Christmas season,
(16:40):
so I had, you know, I was I was buying
everyone gifts. So he he said, can I go with
you to do your Can I walk with you? And
I said, well, I'm gonna go pay, you know, make payments.
So we walked. But it was electric. It was from
the moment we met. It was it was intense, it
was fireworks, it was it was love at first sight.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
How long have you been together?
Speaker 8 (17:02):
We have been married now for thirty three years, and
together we're a little bit thirty seven years.
Speaker 12 (17:09):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
I just thought, maybe you know you saw his feet
there and the first time you met, and that you
still fell in love with him.
Speaker 8 (17:18):
No, no, I saw his seas I still loved him.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
Yes, all right, Well, Monika, thank you for the great story,
Thanks for sharing your love.
Speaker 5 (17:28):

Coast one O three point five.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
Hi Nick, Hi, good morning, Good morning Nick. Where did
you find love?
Speaker 11 (17:47):
Actually I found it at the university back in two
thousand and nine.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
Were you both students or tell us.
Speaker 11 (17:55):
No, My wife was actually a student there, and I
was actually working with a company that was actually building
a section called Middle Earth Student Center, and I was
the truck driver delivering all the materials. And long story short,
I met this really shy, cute girl and it kind
(18:20):
of clicked the you know, first catches, you see him,
and then you're like, oh, I'll never see that person again.
Come back. I was going there every day, caught a glimpse.
Finally was able to get in contact with her. And
we both are in the little rockabilly cloud crowd, and
we would go to Viva Las Vegas, that big weekend
(18:40):
here that they have Easter Weekend. We happened to be
in the same place at the same time. Never wouldn't
ever think we would be in the same locations. A
week later, we actually go on our first date after
we started talking. Twelve years later, after a child and marriage,
