(00:01):
It's I'm telling you feazy Boston.Thank you very much, Dan Watkins.
Okay, we've done three hours tonight. This is our number four, and
I'm a little mystified because I don'tthink I'm saying anything tonight that is extraordinary
(00:21):
or even out of the ordinary whatI'm suggesting. And I think Bill from
Boston finally got it. Of allthe call of most of the callers tonight,
I've had people on the far endsof both the spectrum here. I'd
like to hear people to well, whatever your point of views, you're welcome.
(00:41):
But what I'm troubled by is I'mnot hearing people who are going to
say to it. I have saidto me, hey, Dan, you're
making some sense. Maybe I'm notmaking sense, But what I'm saying is
if we don't tone the language downon both sides, on both sides,
we will have other ugly incidents.Whether you like Donald Trump or despise Donald
(01:02):
Trump, that was an ugly incidenton Saturday. It's tough to see America
once again in a situation where apresidential candidate is ducking for cover. I
didn't like it when there was ashoe thrown at George Bush when he was
doing a news conference in the Middleleast. But a shoe is one thing,
(01:26):
a bullet is quite another. Icertainly didn't like it as a young
boy seeing President Kennedy assassinated in Dallas. I went on to cover stories in
Dallas on the anniversaries of that assassinationand actually sat in the window that Lee
rb Oswald sat in. You can'tsit there anymore. It's all glassed off.
I felt the same way when doctorMartin Luther King was assassinated by a
(01:51):
loan gunman, when Robert F.Kennedy a couple of months later, was
shot to death in the kitchen ofthe California hotel he had just on the
California primary. The point I'm tryingto make is that if we don't tone
the language down, and if byextension, we don't tone it down within
our own family and our own circleof friends. I mean, how many
(02:13):
friendships do you think we have lostover politics in this country. I'll bet
it's in the millions. How manyfamilies are now estranged because of politics in
this country? I suspect it's millions. Okay, It's not as simple as
people think. People like Joe Bidenor like Donald Trump for a myriad of
(02:35):
reasons, and people dislike Donald Trumpand Joe Biden for another myriad of reasons.
But I'm telling you, if wedon't calm this down and get through
this election and get to November, and there's not a consensus in the country
that will say, Okay, thiselection's over. Maybe it turned out the
(02:58):
way I wanted, maybe it didn't, but that person who won this election
is the president of the United States, because that's what we run in this
country. It is a democracy. And I know, I know that there
are people who have such little faithin the institutions of this country that they
(03:19):
assume the worst. So I'm goingto invite you to call and take a
pledge with me tonight that you willbe more respectful to family members and friends
with whom you disagree and understand thatdisagreement over a presidential candidate is similar to
disagreement over whether you're a Red Soxor a Yankee fan. I mean,
(03:43):
you feel it in your guts youlove the Red Sox or you love the
Yankees, And if you love theRed Sox, you probably hate the Yankees,
and vice versa. But it's different. I mean that ends every September
October and it renews in February whenthe spring training starts. This is something
we're going to have to live withand our kids are going to have to
live with. So without any furtherado, let me go to Michael in
Pembroke, Massachusetts. Michael, Iappreciate you calling in. Whatever your position
(04:08):
is, you go right ahead, love to hear it. Well, I
guess Michael's not there, so whatwe will try to do is bring Michael
back. I hope Michael probably walkedaway to get a beer. Michael,
if you're still there, we'll getyou after this next call, let me
go next to Gary in Woulburn.Gary will have a strong point of view.
(04:30):
Whatever that point of view is.Welcome Gary. Yeah. I'll go
from room to room watching TV listeningto you. And what you just said
is people are not going with youon this. A lot of times I'm
against you the way you're talking sowell, but I'm not absolutely for you.
I'm a big Donald Truf fan,and behavior is everything. Saying the
(04:50):
Woods bloodbath has got to go.Just saying the word, oh, Joe
Biden calls him an ass, allthese bad language words have to go,
including what I just said over theairwayst Donald Trump. I don't even know
what happened in the last few days, but at his conventions, I mean,
(05:10):
did he even say, like Ihope he didn't say, you can
tell me and then he said,oh, you gotta fight, you gotta
keep fighting. Did he do that? He is not, to the best
of my knowledge, spoken at theconvention. I think that he has walked
onto the not onto the floor ofthe convention. Secret Service is not going
to allow that. But he's sittingup in sort of the presidential box.
(05:35):
They're in a basketball arena at thehome of the Milwaukee Bucks for anybody who's
interested, as I understand it,and he's come in and you know,
his typical gestures of his fist pumpor in the air or whatever. He's
he's done that a few times.And we'll have to see. He won't
speak until Thursday night. We'll haveto see what he says. I'm just
(05:57):
saying that that the the own ofthis election has been pretty tough, pretty
tough. You got this is thefirst time we've had two presidents in modern
era battle one another. This islike a two out of three match.
Up. You know, even thoughthey have only battled once the Beach been
president. We haven't had a racebetween two presidents since Benjamin Harrison and Grover
(06:24):
Cleveland. So this is unprecedented.Let's, you know, let's let's let's
look at it. Let's have agood race on issues, a good fight
on issues. Tell us why yourissues are better. If you want to
tell me why the other guy's issuesare bad, that's fine, But get
away from the language of a bullseye. We're going to put a bullseye on
(06:47):
Trump. What I meant, whathe you know he said to to Lester
Holt, was well, I wastalking about focusing on the issues. Why
then use the phrase bullseye? Andand Donald Trump has to get away from
using stupid issues like blood bath andthen have to complain what was taken out
of context. It won't be takenout of context if you don't utilize the
(07:08):
word, don't use the right dictator. Now, what I want to say
is this, Okay, What reallybothers me is and by the way,
everybody who was a Trump supporter, and I don't want to just put myself
on a pedestal like I'm special overeverybody else. But it's like this at
sixty one years of age when thebullet or how many bullets were shot and
so forth. Okay, and itgrazed him along his ear and so forth.
(07:31):
My question is this. You gotthe Secret Service there men and a
woman. I saw one who wasa woman, and you should be hustling
him off stage and putting him downin a crouch position, even if they
have to carry him off, layingdown. And I'm getting a little carried
away here. But the most importantthing was this Donald Trump stood at a
(07:53):
six foot two frame of his height, and he's fist pumping, and I
just set to my stuff. Theheck you one fish pumping for the t
to you is getting off that stage? That could be another shooter. Let
them do their job. And whatwas he saying? Guys, leave me
alone, lay me alone? Imean, how arrogant is that? Get
off? He didn't say, well, Gary, let me correct you.
(08:18):
He didn't say leave me alone.Once he ducked down, the Secret Service
agents threw themselves over him to protecthim. They were behind a bulletproof barrier,
you know, the stuff with thered, white and blue bunting.
That was bulletproof, and that wasset up that way to protect him.
He was safe at that moment. They waited about a minute and a half
(08:39):
to make sure that there were nomore shooters, to make sure that the
shooter had been neutralized, and thenthey moved him off stage. He weighs
about two hundred and forty pounds. They hustled him, they sort of half
carried him off stage. It washis decision. And you have no idea,
nor do why what the adrenaline mighthave been flowing through your veins or
(09:01):
his veins, having just in hismind probably survived the dissassin, he should
attempt. And he's saying to thehe's saying to the crowd, I'm okay,
I'm okay, I'm okay. Well, whatever he's saying, he has
a right to do that, okay, Gerry. I don't think we can
say to him, you've just beenshot at, You've just been grazed by
a bullet, and now we expectyou to stand up, put fold your
(09:22):
hands in front of you and walkquietly off the stage. That's unrealistic,
Gary, Okay, all right, good enough, And one last thing I
do want to point out, Andby the way, like I said,
I hope you're proud of me becauseI'm with it, because everybody should be
with you. The way you're talkingis this. You remember the movie Patton
with Josie Scott. Yes, absolutelysure, a great movie. Okay,
(09:43):
remember what the time in the moviehe like, you know, it was
the Germans or Japanese and they wereattacking along Italy and he was like in
the it was Germans who were inItaly. Go ahead, right, and
he goes out with his a singlepistol. He joes, I'll get you
your uslbs and so and you gotKyle uh cayle whatever from those streets and
(10:07):
say fist. I'll say, butGeorge, get in here, you'll get
killed. Right remember that scene?Yes, yeah, a little bit,
you go ahead, okay. Well, what I'm trying to say is that
reminds me of Trump. It's likehe feels like he's invincible, you know
what I mean, he could havedied and this and it bothers the heck
out of me and so forth. That is arrogance. It's just too too
(10:30):
much. And keep up the goodwork, all right, Thanks, Gary,
appreciate your call. Go take quickbreak here on night'side, we got
one line at six one, seven, two, five, four, ten
thirty one at six one, seven, nine thirty. I am very surprised
that more people are not picking upon what I'm laying down here. You
can criticize me, that's fine. You can tell me that you hate the
(10:50):
other guy so much, that's fine. What I'm saying to you is our
country is being ripped apart. Okay, being ripped apart. One of these
men will be re elected president.I don't think Joe Biden's leaving. I
don't think Joe, I don't thinkDonald Trump is doing anything about leaving.
It's going to be a tough fourmonths here, three and a half months.
(11:11):
And I want to give you allthe opportunity to call say whatever you
want to say. But let's justtry to realize that people who we disagree
with on each side, they're goodpeople. They have different views than you
do, they're not bad people. And just think about it. Do you
have family members you've lost meaning whono longer speak to you, friends,
(11:33):
relatives, co workers? Think aboutit. Coming back on night Side now,
back to Dan Ray live from theWindow World night Side Studios on WBZ
News Radio. Back we go,just go to Terry down in Harwich on
the cave, Terry, welcome back, Go right ahead, Terry. What's
your thought on this? Hi?Dan, congratulations on your victory. Lap.
(11:58):
I hope that qualified forgetting one ofthose very special night side with Dan
break coffee mugs because they are prettygood. So I'm okay, but thank
you. I did predict on Fridaynight. Thank you, Terry. I
was the only one who said jdvance. I was surprised that there was.
There were no other people who werepicking up on that. Ohio,
(12:20):
Ohio, Ohio. I did pickup on the after the faith. But
I want to commend you securely forwhat you're trying to accomplish here. It
is so good. Not making muchprogress, Terry, but thank you,
thank you. No, you areyou are you are. America needs to
(12:41):
heal. There are a lot ofpeople that have not gotten to the point
that they can heal yet. Butpeople like you that have a platforms,
you just have to keep getting yourmessage out. You should be getting a
hophy for this, and I sincerelymean that I appreciate that. We will.
(13:09):
We will argue this case because whenthe election is over on November sixth
or seventh, whenever all the votesare counted. Someone will win, someone
will lose, Just like a superBowl, someone will win, someone will
lose. I mean people who whosupport a team that goes to the super
Bowl and loses, They're not jumpingoff a bridge the next day. They're
thinking to themselves, Okay, whocan who can we draft to make the
(13:33):
team better? Who can we tradefor? Who can we sign? Same
way, whatever the mistakes are thatthe candidate makes, I'm just saying that
clean the language up right now.Come on, we don't need another scene
like on Saturday, because the nexttime it might be a it might be
a different candidate. You know, there are people. One guy died,
he was a volunteer firefighter. Well, a horrible, horrible thing that happened.
(13:58):
I told serious condolences to his familyand loved ones, as well as
to the other two men that wereseriously hurt. And yeah, they may
survive, but but they may neverbe the same, you know. So,
I mean, that's right, ButDan, I don't think anybody that
(14:22):
was there that day wasn't traumatized.America was traumatized by seeing and hearing about
it. In my head of JackKennedy, Robert Kennedy, doctor George Wallace
(14:43):
followed these events, gerald Ford beingshot at twice in one month. Both
both people missed. Let's not godown this road any further. Okay,
let's turn around. I would physicallystick to my stomach. It was just
a horrible thing. And it doesn'tmatter who your candidate is. The person
(15:07):
is a human being and we allneed to hug each other. I'm with
you totally, Terry. I gotpack lines, so I'm going to keep
rolling, but I kind of gotDan. Keep it, keep it up.
You're doing good. You really are. You're my favorite college. Yeah,
thank you so much. Dan,I have a good one. Bye
(15:28):
bye, Thank you very much.We go to Marty down in Florida.
Martya are you buying what I'm layingdown? Where's Marty? Mariy? Are
you with us? Let's put Martyon hold, rob Okay, we'll get
to Marty in a moment. We'vehad a couple of those tonight, Steven
Bridgewater, Steve, you're next onNightsiger, right ahead? Yes, Dan,
(15:48):
nice to talk to you again. What do I want to say here?
Yes? I agree? Or no? I agree? I do?
I agree with you. I don'tknow how many people. Hey, let
me bring my window up here againfrom crazy nuts out here tonight. I
agree with you, But I don'tknow how many people will follow that.
(16:11):
It's really hard sometimes when you thinkthat people are not seeing things as they
are, which is what aggravates me, you think, in sometimes it doesn't
come down to my political opinion, your political opinion. It's people not seeing
things as they are. But youknow what my opinion is. I got
a friend and I argue with politicsall the time, and I say,
hey, Gary, you're entitled tovote for who you want. It's a
(16:34):
democratic society, I tell them,But don't complain when one day you find
that you find yourself not being ableto survive anymore. That's what I tell
them. Don't complain when you sufferthe consequences. That's what I tell people.
Elections. Look, elections do haveconsequences, okay, forwards, okay.
(16:56):
But but the fact of the matteralso is when you think of it,
that presidential election very rarely is astate. And I don't think a
state has ever been decided maybe inthe seventeen hundreds or the early eighteen hundreds,
I don't think a state has everbeen decided by one vote. I
mean, you know there were millionsof people. One hundred and seventy million
people will vote, and there willbe states where Donald Trump will win with
(17:21):
seventy percent of the vote, andthere'll be states where Joe Biden wins with
seventy percent of the vote. Andthen the few states that will decide the
election. We know which states theyare. You're talking probably North Carolina,
Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, maybe Minnesota, Arizona, and Nevada.
I can call Massachusetts right now.Joe Biden carried Massachusetts in November fifth,
(17:44):
twenty twenty four. It's as simplyas that. You know so whether
you're going to but you still wantto go to the polls and vote and
be part of the system and feelinvested in the system. But do you
hear what I'm trying to say tonightthat if the language doesn't tone down,
we're gonna have some real problems inthis country. Yeah, yeah, it's
(18:04):
killing us from within. Deal. We're not gonna have to worry about foreign
powers killing us. We're killing ourselvesfrom within, is what's happening. That's
exactly what I think the point you'retrying to make. We're killing ourselves from
within. You got it? Igot it? Well, look I appreciate
that, did you that you've gotit? You're a veteran caller, and
(18:25):
you can always disagree with me.I'm just I think what I'm offering tonight
is a very simple proposition of let'schill a little bit, Harry. You
know, wait a second. Youknow you see those fights in the stands
at Yankee Stadium when some poor RedSox fan is out there and and four
or five Yankee fans are half inthe bag and they want to beat up
the Red Sox fan. But that'snot what it's about, you know,
(18:47):
you know, you know I don'twant to see that happen any anywhere,
never mind Yankee Stadium. Okay, can I say all these Trumpers that they
hate him so much? You know, part of me says, hey,
if you re elected him, notonly will we not have the problems we
(19:07):
do today with it by January twentieth, you get rid of him already.
Now they put along their agony. If they read you know what I mean,
he'd be out of the scene bythis January. So those would hate
him. They pull along their agonybecause now he's back in the machine again.
Yeah, I don't get the pointyou're making. And all of a
sudden, I'm not hearing you.Well are you have you changed your phone
(19:29):
level here or what? Oh?Man, I'm sorry, Dan, maybe
the phone would can you hear me? Now? I hear you better.
So what was the point you weretrying to make there? Quickly? Because
I couldn't hear you? Go ahead, My point being I don't know.
It's still if Trump did get reelected four years ago, he'd be almost
out of the picture by now,you know what I mean? And yeah,
I get it. Yeah, yeah, he'll be January. Yeah,
(19:55):
he'd be he'd be in the pastalready. So yep. But whatever,
that's so fair enough. You can'tconvince them no matter what you say,
Dan, Steve, thank you much, thanks for taking my call again.
Thank you, thank you the show. Have a great night. All right.
One line open six one seven twofive four, ten thirty. That's
(20:15):
the only line open right now,six one seven two five four to ten
thirty. I'm trying as best Ican tonight to get as many people on
each side for Trump, for Biden, for Biden, for Trump to say,
look, we'll take the temperature downin this country. We'll stop.
And by the way, it's gotto start with the candidates, not just
us. It's got to start withthe candidates. Stop using words like bullseye,
(20:38):
Stop using words like a dictator orbloodbath. Stop using the imagery that
may excite your base, but it'sgoing to alienate you. If you fortunately
you're elected president, you're whoever getselected president. It would be great if
maybe we can have it a president. We can have a president that is
supported or at least recognized by sixtyseventy percent of the country as the actual
(21:03):
president that we got to get tothat point. We'll be back right after
this on Nightside. You're on nightSide with Dan Ray on waz Boston's news
radio. When light opened six one, seven, two, five, four
to ten thirty Marty in Florida.Marty next on Nightside, go right ahead,
Hello, Marty, what's going onwith the phone tonight? We had
(21:26):
problems connected wall Can you hear me? I can hear you, Marty,
Yes, I can. Okay.He first of all by saying that I
did predict to my friends that ifanybody tried to take out Donald Trump,
it would be a white nut,and it was a white nut. Second
of all, as far as theinflammatory language, I want to bring your
(21:48):
attention to Charles Schumer a while agowhen he was threatening Supreme Court justices as
what's going to happen to them becausethey incurred his wreath. I also want
to they'll reap the whirlwind. Ye. I want to also bring to your
attention Maxine Waters, who in myopinion, is a swob telling her followers
(22:10):
to see Republicans and restaurants and dothis and do that to them. I'm
going to maintain that, first ofall, there are nuts out there,
as I mentioned about our bremer whenhe shot George Wallace and I think it
was Lynette's squeaky Frome who shot triedto shoot what was it, Gerald Ford
(22:33):
Ford? And then that same monthin the same city in San Francisco,
Ford was there twice. It wasa room named Sarah Jane Moore who also
writes there are nuts who are goingto be triggered. But as far as
the the talking Donald Trump is aNew Yorker, I'm a New Yorker.
He's very very boisterous, very selfconfident. They described me as far as
(22:59):
that, but there's a difference betweenwhat he says, and again what Charlie
Schumer or Maxwell Maxine Water says.I think that as far as the niceness,
I'm going to say right now thatthe New Democratic Party, which is
the closest that we've ever been tocommunism, most of them are not nice
(23:19):
people. Now, in the olddays, when we had what was his
name, the old Speaker of theHouse, the Irish what was his name,
Tip O'Neill, Okay, chip O'Neill, we didn't have the problem like
we have now with Nancy and whatever. When the Democrats, so it was
(23:40):
a different type of Democrats. Point, the point I'm trying to make money
tonight is that if I think everythingyou said is accurate, Okay, everything
you said is accurate. But Trump, the New Yorker, if he wants
to win the election I assume hedoes, he has to also calm down
rhetoric. He shouldn't say things likeyeah, I'll be a dictator in the
(24:03):
first day, ha ha ha asa joke because that's going to be used
against him. He shouldn't talk,he shouldn't invoke a phrase like bloodbath.
Okay, well, because they're gonnathat that will be used against him.
And all I'm just saying is thatthe language on both sides is way over
the top. That's all you are. Let me just say this as a
former cop, I look at everythingthrough the eyes of a former cop,
(24:27):
and in the police world, wewould say somebody like Donald Trump has diarrhea
of the mouth and he should watchwhat he's saying. I totally agree.
But unfortunately that's that's Donald Trump.And I've met a lot of toots.
But if he's going to be thecandidate for the Republican Party, unless Republicans
(24:51):
want to see Joe Biden re elected, he's gonna Now I don't know what
he's how he's going to handle himselfThursday night. Maybe maybe totally correct.
I totally agree with you, Sowe'll see. Anyway, Donald Trump is
Donald Trump, and I hope hemakes it in November because I'm tired of
living in a third world country.Sometimes I wake up and say, Mayan,
(25:12):
Honduras. I'm in the Banana,But are you're closer to hon Duras
maybe than we are at least.Okay, thanks the great show. Another
great show. And then, asBobo would say, thanks for the memories,
thank you much. I like Bobopabsolutely great, great America. Sean
is in Lynn Shawn, You're nexton Nightside, Go right, hit Sean
(25:33):
hell love good sir. I agreewith you in your opinion about Trump.
Yes, watches Ego, watch hislanguage and bring the country together. The
word is e furbus unham right.Out of many Americas, that's the phrase.
Out of many one, there's one. And we should all stand together
as Americans because we are more commonalitiesthan we have differences. Absolutely, Sean,
(25:59):
you're you're hitting the home run herebecause that's we We have many more
freedoms than than people have in alot of countries around the world. All
of us. We should stick with. We should stick with that idea.
I found their father's creaty for us. We're very lucky people, how you
think. But my point is whenI that that phrase, you are correct.
(26:23):
When the rhetic gets too high.I have good friends, family that
I don't talk to because of politics. I am in the middle. That
sad. That that's sad. I'mindependent with I'm an independent you first time
calling I called them up Kennedy abouta couple of months ago, and we
(26:44):
talked towards the end. It makessense. I listened to you at work
every night, just like I callyou all my breaks. If I can't
get in and I have back towork, all right, well in that
case, I'll tell Rob to getyou to the head of the line.
I just you know, just Mypoint is is, like you know,
I think we should all just likefocus on our neighbors, try to love
our neighbors, try to find commonalities, and bring us together as Americans versus
(27:10):
a tribalism that's going on now.If I'm not a fan of Donald Trump,
I'm a I'm a call me Democrat. If I'm a fan of Joe
Biden, you know, excitement. You see the difference, and there's a
big split in this country. Thisis not my father. Yes, my
grandfather's party was a party of Iban. How my grandmother on my mother's side
was a party of Kennedy. Itwas a same street. Though we had
(27:34):
a lot of common analytes back then. It seems to stay in twenty twenty
four. It's we're getting divided moreand more. I don't hate my neighbor,
I don't hate different opinions. Ithink we should learn from different opinions
and talking out as soon as Iagree with that. Where we live in
one of the countries in the worldwhere you're able to express different opinions.
(27:56):
Try expressing different opinions in Cuba,or China or Russia, the greatest country
in the world. John, Ilove you call. Please continue to call
this program. Thank you so much. Stair out. I'll be listening.
Have a good night time, right, Thank you much. Let him get
one more in here before the break. I got now a couple of open
lines at six one, seven, nine, three, one, ten thirty.
Those are two lines there. Theothers are full six months. If
(28:18):
you want to get on six one, seven, nine thirty. Let me
go to John and Boston. John, you were next on nightside. Go
ahead, sir Dan. Thank you. Your sentiments are great, Dan.
But that's not what the president said. Yes that even today he's saying that
Trump is a threat to democracy. We've just seen him go through multiple legal
cases that were bogus. We've seeingLaftier brought up against Trump. We see
(28:41):
the border with the killers and terroristscoming across. We can lose a city
with a suitcase, noop, maybeHama Scott from Iran. Our citizens are
under pressure economically, the cost offood, the cost of housing. So
Biden has nothing to run on.And here's the thing, John, John,
(29:02):
John, hold it for a second, just for one second. Your
your your comments are absolutely correct, okay. And all of your comments were
were correct and they were effective. And if Donald Trump were to continue with
comments like that, he would bemuch more likely to be elected. Uh.
(29:27):
He focus on you can you cantake something like as opposed to complaining
about having been charged or indicted, emphasize that when you're president you will not
bring indictments against former presidents. Youknow what I'm saying. You turn it
(29:49):
into something that people it as opposedto. Sometimes he comes off like he's
whining. Okay, why not turna negative into a positive and say,
look, one of the things Ipromise you as your president, I will
represent your country and I will lookout what is for best for your country.
(30:11):
And one thing that will not happenin my country, I will not
use law fear against anyone. Iwill use the law to prosecute criminals,
not politicians. I mean, that'sthat's a message which I think wins him
votes. Do you know what I'msaying? Well, yeah, Dan,
(30:32):
sure, But the thing is thisongoing injustice now the media inflames anything he
says for their own purposes. Youknow that, Dan. The media,
whether it's Whoopy Goldberg or they takeanything out of context, they don't fully
get the full context, and they'reinflaming piece people's passions. They call them,
they call them a dictator, theycall them a tyrant. I mean,
I heard a top show host lastweek say I'm afraid of Donald Trump.
(30:57):
I'm afraid because of the protests andWashington and and im playing he's a
tyrant. And that was Gary Tagway, who fills in for you, Dan,
And I wanted to call, saidGary, Well, why did the
Capitol Hill cops welcome the protesters intothe cap Can you explain that to me?
I didn't get a chance to getthrough to him by want of that.
(31:18):
Why were the cops welcoming? Whywould the cops the Capitol building?
John John, Not all the policewere welcoming. There have been some shows,
but many of them were, Dan, multiple many of them were.
There's plenty of video of it.Anyone can see it. Dan. All
I'm saying is why would sorry, why why were people smashing windows and smashing
(31:44):
doors they were doing while Trump wasbefore he even got over there. Again,
he asked for peaceful process. Look, I'm not I'm not that Trump
never got over there. But whatmy question is you're telling me the Capitol
police were welcome the protesters. Whatever. Listen questions, Why does the Capital
police allow him to go in?Why did Nancy Pelosi deny the troops that
(32:07):
Trump Trump WoT? There's lots ofquestions, an investigation. Yeah, okay,
well maybe if Trump gets elected whatever. But you've missed, You've missed
my point. But that's okay,I got you. I got your point
out. What I'm saying, thereare other forces like Zuckerberg censoring free speech
by shadow beinning. We get,we get campaign. Let's let's let's run
(32:32):
the campaign, not talk about whatpositive things Donald Trump might do if he's
has the good fortune of elected.Let's hear from Trump every day about you
say, Zuckerberg, uh, censoringpeople. Let let's make that the the
(32:53):
the the the core of the campaign. I think that's a winning issue.
Don't you absolutely to point out thathe did it though that actually was done.
He's such a free speech yep.All right, Okay, thank you,
John, thank you much. We'lltalk soon. You have a great
night. Okay, all right, let's keep rolling we'll be back on nightside,
(33:14):
I promise right after this. Nowback to Dan Ray Mine from the
Window World Nightside Studios on w bZ News Radio. All right, got
four full callers, let's try toget them all in. I mean it's
going to give everybody a little morethan a minute or so. You've called
late. That's okay, Bill inPennsylvania, Bill next on Nightsiger, go
right ahead. Yeah, they great, pretty good, uh well orchestrated convention,
(33:38):
I think, Dan, and Uh, I think once this, once
this convention is over, I thinkwe're gonna see a lot more about the
uh, the uh bungling of theuh secret Service over there last last Saturday.
I think that's gonna be front front, uh front page of every every
(33:59):
newspaper around when they start finding outhow that happened. Well, I'll tell
you, we're very lucky. AndDonald Trump's very lucky that that bullet wasn't
a couple of inches closer. Hehe literally dodged a bullet. And I
got to tell you right now,I mean, I think the election is
(34:22):
is trending towards the Republicans, andthe Republicans if they are smart, they
will they will be conciliatory and magnanimous. And we'll see what Trump's speech is
like on Thursday night. Ye see, it'll be right. But that's that's
right, Dan. But listen, one thing that's really lacking in the United
States, I think, okay,is accountability and and and this this secret
(34:49):
service thing. If they don't ifthey if they don't have transparency there,
and we don't have accountability and somethingthat that uh you know that diary.
I I want, I want thewhole truth and whether it's you know,
the good, the bad, ofthe ugly, Okay. And I don't
think we'll get it tomorrow, butI want. I don't want it to
wait too long. I think thatNo, I don't eat it. But
(35:15):
I'm here in Pennsylvania, and Ican tell you what I've heard lately,
Okay, is the FBI uh outin out in Pittsburgh. Okay, they're
the ones that are heading up theinvestigation. Now, remember the Pittsburgh office
of the FBI were the guys thatwere handpicked, okay to go down and
raid mar A Lago. Yeah, okay, I'm not going his. I
(35:37):
don't have the time to get intothat conspiracy bill. We'll get into it
another night. I think it shouldbe an independent I said last night the
the this investigation should be conducted byBill Bratten or Ed Davis, someone in
law enforceman who has an impeccable reputation, simple as that. Okay, I
gotta run, thank you much.Let's keep rolling here, Glenn, you
(35:59):
gotta be quick for me, myfriend go egg Glenn. Yeah, that
guy Marty from New York is myfavorite color of the week because he reminds
me of superco that that police, and you remind me of an old hit.
He can't in be cool. Let'schow out, no cops, no
heat. Let's discuss this Christian like, I think that's okay. Well,
(36:21):
no, your point is to throwthe rhetoric down, and I agree with
you, because, like I heardMaxine Waters a month ago say that Trump
supporters are training in the hills. They're all white and if Trump wins,
they're gonna come out the bushes andwe and all the non whites are gonna
be killed with guns. I mean, she takes everything that Nancy says with
(36:42):
a huge grain with no. Ididn't mean Nancy. I met Maxine Water.
Maxine Maxine's huge, a huge grainof salt. I know, yeah,
but I'm just saying that that thatthat that rhetoric isn't helping. No.
Absolutely, And if I had heardit, I would have mentioned that.
I'm glad you called and mentioned it. That's important. We'll out all
(37:05):
of this rhetoric. We got toget rid of it all. Get It's
like if you if you're sick, you got to you got to take the
medication and get rid of it.I just think we're heading out a bad
path, man, that's all I'msaying. It's like a national cancer.
Yeah, it's fantastasizing. Hmmm. All right, I will talk to you
Friday night at eleven. Okay, all right, thanks, got to run,
(37:27):
appreciate it. Okay. I gottaget two calls in here, Janet,
Janet and Bill Rica. I gotabout forty seconds for you and about
forty seconds for Joe. Go ahead, Janet, Okay, I'll make it
really quick. So after Trump washit, I really think there's almost a
biblical surgeons. Now, he couldhave gotten up and well, actually,
when he put out his first statement, he could have said, ah,
(37:50):
you know, you missed me orsomething like that, but he didn't.
He thanked God that he was aliveand then listening to the news, he
said he's revamped his whole speech. So I really think that we are going
to see some type of unity inhis speech on Thursday night, because I
think he saw, like you said, his life was on the line.
It was so close to be andgone, and I if you don't talk
(38:13):
about it after that, right,And so I really think he's going to
push unity. The other thing Ireally want to say was the rhetoric when
we were going through COVID and howthe people that were unvaccinated. I will
never forget that time because I wasan unvaccinated person and it was like I
had a target on my back.Janet, you've gone a minute on me
a call earlier. I give youmuch more time. I got to give
(38:36):
thirty seconds to Joe and Whitman.Okay, thank you, Jennet. Joe,
you got thirty seconds. Literally,go ahead. Yeah, you're right.
They need to tone it down.We need more critical thinking, we
need less echo chambers of social media. But we'll see how it goes.
I mean, I think that's allwe can say at this point. I
(38:57):
think, but I think we betterattack in that direction. As simple as
that. Joe call earlier to giveyou much more time. You're a rational
caller, and you stand out tonight. Thank you so much all we had
done for this night. Marie.A good job, Rob, good job.
All the callers, whether you agreedto disagree, you were challenging.
Okay, and we're gonna do moreof this tomorrow night. We'll do more
(39:19):
of this in the weeks and monthsahead. I promise I'll en tonight.
There's always all dogs, all cats, all pets go to him. That's
why Pal Charlie ray Is, whopassed fourteen years ago in February that I
believe that Charlie's in heaven, andthat's where all your pets are who passed.
They loved you and you love them, and I do believe you'll see
them again, see you again, them on everybody. I'll be on Facebook
in just a couple of minutes.Have a great Wednesday, everybody, Dan
(39:42):
waiting for night time
