Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle has resigned from her position after growing backlash over the security at the PA Trump rally where there was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump’s life. President Biden acknowledged the resignation by making a statement saying, “Jill and I are grateful to Director Kim Cheatle for her decades of public service. She has selflessly dedicated and risked her life to protect our nation throughout her career in the United States Secret Service.”

(00:00):
It's nice eyes. Ray, I'mgoing Yourazy Funds News Radio. All right,
thank you very much. I'll appreciateit. As we head into the
nine o'clock hour, will open upthose phone lines at six one, seven,
two, four, ten thirty orsix one seven, nine, three,
one ten thirty. Lots of newsevery day. It's kind of tough
to figure out what is the biggestnews story of the day. But I

(00:23):
think that the biggest news story oftoday is the resignation of the Secret Service
director, Kimberly Cheatle. She hasresigned after what ten days now since the
assassination attempt? Maybe it's eleven daysnow that well, today's Tuesday, so
it'd be Saturday, would be eightnine ten, Saturday eight nine ten,

(00:46):
maybe ten days eleven days in.She was on the hot seat yesterday,
really on the hot seat yesterday whenshe she gave canned answers. She responded
to a subpoena from the House. All they wanted to know was what happened?
Have you figured out what happened?I mean, I think I've figured
out what happened, and I'm noexpert on this. They allowed a knuckle

(01:10):
ahead, a loser kid with arifle. They're in charge of protecting the
President of the United States as wellas others. I think they are about
thirty six people who they protect.I think they protect Supreme Court justices.
I think they certainly protect former presidents. I think they do protect Speaker of
the House, the majority leaders inthe Senate. They protect former presidents.

(01:32):
If you all of a sudden thinkof the list, you know, Bill
Clinton, I'm sure they protect HillaryClinton, George Bush, family members.
Yeah. I know that not onlyis the president protected, but doctor Joe
Biden is protected. She has aSecret Service detail. But this was a

(01:53):
just an abysmal failure. I mean, we could have been watching on live
television. We weren't watching it,at least in Austin, on live television
when President Kennedy was assassinated. Theywere. I mean I was in Dallas
in nineteen seventy eight and nineteen eightythree for the fifteenth and the twentieth anniversary
of those assassinations and really learned andunderstood a lot about how that happened.

(02:21):
I mean, it was like theDark Ages. I mean, even though
there had been assassinations of previous presidents, most notably Abraham Lincoln, and although
President Kennedy had Secret Service protection, matter of fact, there was a Secret
Service man who he actually interviewed onthe air, who was the guy that

(02:43):
dreampt on the back on the backof the car to try to protect missus
Kennedy. And obviously he had noidea how badly wounded the president was.
But having sat in the window ofthe Texas School Book Depository, and having
basically sat exactly where Lee Harvey Oswaldsat fifteen years before, and having sat

(03:05):
in that window with my arm restingon the same window sill that Oswald had
used to steady his aim, andhaving watched the car approach the building and
in Deley Plaza, and then ittook this this reverse here pin turn.
I guess a here pin turn wouldby by necessity be reverse, and the

(03:28):
car had to slow down, almostcome to a stop. It was like
shooting, you know, proverbial fishin a barrel. I mean, it
didn't take a lot of skill onbehalf of Oswald, in my opinion,
but you would think that in thisday and age. Now you move forward
and you have the Bobby Kennedy assassinationof Martin Luther King, who I'm sure
he did not have Secret Service protection. I wish he had. Robert F.

(03:52):
Kennedy, I hope had Secret Serviceprotection by that point. I don't
think he had very active Secret Serviceprotection, because I stand to be corrected
on this, but he was protectedby Roosevelt Grier and rayfer Johnson, an
Olympic athlete and a former lineman forthe Los Angeles Ralliams and the New York

(04:12):
Giants, and I believe that theyactually rested the gun out of Siahans Siirhans
hands. Were their secret Service protections. Yeah, but it wasn't anything like
today. I've had plenty of interactionswith presidents. Again, there were times
I remember interviewing Jimmy Carter and ClintonMassachusetts in nineteen seventy seven. I had

(04:36):
not passed to a magnomenar. Iwas standing on Gunner Thompson's driveway when the
President drove up in his limousine andgot out and I was standing five feet
from him. We did an interviewon the air, which we wasn't live,
but it was turned around and fedback to the station and on the
air my best recollection literally within twoor three minutes. Back in those days.

(04:57):
That was nineteen seventy seven. Ithink the dark ages. But for
this guy to be able to beon a rooftop, now again, the
Secret Service director had said was aslanted rooftop, It wasn't a slanted rooftop
and had an angle of about threedegrees or four degrees. I would have
climbed up down that roof. Butwhat went wrong we don't know. But

(05:23):
this is just a little bit ofwhat she went through yesterday. And I
gotta be honest with you when youhave Congresswoman Taylor Green and AOC agreeing on
something. Her days were numbered, simple, simple as that. So here's
a here is let me let meget this is a Jared Moskowitz, who's

(05:46):
a Democrat from Florida. Cut numbertwenty. Please, Rob, if Trump
had been assassinated that day, ifthe gunman had succeeded, okay, would
you have common tendered your resignation.I would still be sitting here because I
would want to ensure the integrity ofthe investigation. Totally understand. That's a
fair answer that you would have setup that process. But would you have

(06:09):
had the honor to come in frontof the committee and say a president was
assassin the form president was assassinated onmy watch. There should be new leadership.
I think that I have admitted thatthere was no Would you have tendered
your resignation if you had been killed? That occurred on my watch and I
am accountable for that. Okay,But would you have tendered your resignation if
you had been killed? I thinkthat I've admitted that I've taken accountability and

(06:33):
will take responsibility. Okay, that'sa pretty simple question. And of course,
as it turned out, she didsubmit her resignation one day after.
But that's a pretty simple question. She's been around the block a long time
down there. Okay, So thiswas Congresswoman Nancy Mace yesterday. She's a
Republican from South Carolina. Jared Moskovitch, which is a Democrat from Florida.

(06:59):
This is Nancy Mays who just inaffect dope slapter. Here here we go,
Cut fifteen. Rob is a SecretService fully cooperating with our committee?
Yes, okay, you say you'refully cooperating with this committee. On July
fifteenth, this committee, since youa list of demands of information that we

(07:21):
wanted. Has the Secret Service providedthis committee a complete list of all law
enforcement personnel that were there that day. Have you done that? Have you
provided a list to the Oversight Committee? Yes? Or no? I will
have to get back to you onthat. That is a no. Have
you provided all audio and video recordingsin your possession to this committee as we
asked on July fifteenth? Yes?Or no. I would have to get

(07:43):
back to you. That is ano. You're full of today. You're
just being completely dishonest. She wasn'tthe only one. Her language was a
little spicier there, obviously, Butlet me tell you what a disgrace,
what an absolute disgrace. Also,by the way, today, I think
it was ABC News was reporting tonightthat the Secret Service has asked the Trump

(08:07):
campaign not to hold any more outdoorrallies. Let me tell you that to
me, really raises some questions inmy mind. I'd love to know what
if it raises questions in your mind. The Secret Service falls under the jurisdiction

(08:28):
of the President of the United Statesand falls under the jurisdiction more directly of
Homeland Security. And I don't thinkin my opinion that Homeland Security or Secret
Service they can make a suggestion, but to make that suggestion publicly, that's

(08:50):
that's a little too political for mytaste to say to Donald Trump, who's
who's held major outdoor rallies in three, well three elections now in sixteen,
twenty, sixteen, twenty twenty andnow twenty twenty four, to ask him
to stop holding outdoor rallies, that'salmost it's almost political interference. If you

(09:20):
agree with me, great, Ifyou don't feel free six one, seven,
two, five, four, tenthirty. Again, my question is
what took so long and why arewe still not getting answers? This is
an absolute failure there every from thesetup. You almost begin to wonder if
there were people in authority who justwere absolutely negligent. I mean, I

(09:48):
can't imagine having been at rallies andhaving you go through the airport, go
through the airport. Okay, youtake your shoes off, you take your
belt off. You gotta hope youyour pins stay up more. There's more
security at any airport in America thanthere wasn't that rally for Donald Trump?

(10:09):
And you almost you hate to thinkwhere your mind's gonna go here, but
I think that there are people whowere thinking, was this some sort of
a setup. It's a horrible thought, but how could they not have covered
that roof it. To me,it defies logic. Six one seven,

(10:31):
two, five, four, tenthirty. Those lines are full. There
are three lines there. There aretwo lines at six one seven, nine
three one, ten thirty. We'regoing to talk about Kimberly Cheetle, who
I thought was a disgrace. Ithought she was an absolute disgrace. She
might have been a fine Secret Serviceagent twenty years ago before she went to
work for Pepsicola. But that's apolitical appointee. Uh. And that's a

(10:56):
dangerous spot to have a political appointee. That should be an absolute, quintessential
professional who would be be vetted bysome sort of a committee that included Democrats
and Republicans in the House. Thisis I never thought the thoughts that are

(11:16):
racing through my mind right now, thoughts that I would thought. I would
never have it as an American citizen. Uh. And I'm I'm I'm trying
to keep my thoughts to myself, and I don't want to hear the thoughts
from you. But there has tobe a complete structure. The head of
the Secret Service should not be apresidential appointee. It should be Uh.

(11:37):
This should be a combination of Idon't know FBI ci A, as well
as a representative from both parties, maybe the UH, the Speaker of the
House and the ranking member and theminority leader. That we got to take

(11:58):
politics out of this. That's mayOrcas's appointment when he gets right down to
it. It starts with Biden, but it's my Orcus's appointment. We'll be
back on Night's side, joined theconversation. We'll be back right after this.
Now back to Dan Ray live fromthe Window World Night Side Studios.
I'm WBZ News Radio. I'll tellyou what that scene in Butler Township,

(12:22):
Pennsylvania look like to me. AndI did not see the moment the gun
was fired, but I was outin a different room talking with some relatives
and I we were there at abirthday party for a two year old grandson,
and the party had ended and somepeople were leaving, and we were
on six ten or so. ButI was seeing I saw as Donald Trump,

(12:46):
you know, was being covered upby secret Service. All I could
think of was one of those moviesfrom like the nineteen eighties and nineteen nineties,
The Jackal, where someone spent youknow, some professional spent months tracking
down someone and they finally got themin the in the in the in the

(13:07):
cross heirs of their scope and theypopped them. Because this is twenty twenty
four, how could they possibly haveleft that roof uncovered? That this is
beyond negligence. This is gross negligenceat best. I want to sear all
of you have to say about this. My question is what took her so

(13:31):
long? John? And Himpton Beach, Hey, John, welcome back.
How you doing? Dan? Yeah, it is. It's a sad day
for this country. And I wasI think I don't have to have to
go over go over again my pedigreewith you. But again, you know,
excellaw enforcement. I did train atthe Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in
Glen Code, Georgia's a Naval InvestigativeService special Agent. I worked with a

(13:52):
lot of Secret Service agents as utmostrespect for them. She was an utmost
She was an absolute disgrace. Thefact that you and I can reference Dallas,
November sixty three, I think it'sto your point that this country is
susceptible to, you know, conspiracytheories and her non compliance with even answering

(14:15):
one simple question. I was listeningto it as I was driving yesterday it
makes the average American go, couldyou just answer answer a simple yes and
no question with a yes or no. She couldn't even do that. She
ingratiated herself with Joe Biden when shewas on Joe Biden's a detail. So
there's no meritocracy in the Secret Service. It's all dei and that's why this

(14:39):
country suffers. People don't get totheir position anymore because of competency, because
of your race or gender. It'sjust a simple fact. Well, there
was one member. There was onemember of Congress yesterday, Congress from Tim
Burchett, who happens to be aRepublican, and it's a pretty pretty solid
guy. He raised that issue, and I just want to reinforce what you're

(15:03):
saying. In her case. Shedoesn't. She didn't have the experience.
She was a line agent. Shewas apparently on Biden's detail for a long
time. And I know that JoeBiden is old school and a lot's what
a lot of people, including maybeyou or me, liked about him,
and I'm sure they took a likingto her. She was out working for

(15:24):
Pepsicola as their head of security, which is great, that's fine, no
problem, But no one's out tokill the head of Pepsicola. And it's
a different type of job. Andyou're right, she was elevated by Biden.
It's a presidential appointee. This iscut sixteen. Please Rob play this
one for John. Cut sixteen isJato. You said that the buck stops
with me and I Gray, Idon't think she should resign. I think

(15:48):
she should have been fired. Ma'am, you're a DEI horror story. I've
told my daughter multiple times. Mywife and my daughter, we talk with
her all the time about how she'sgoing to succeed in life. She'll succeed
in life by achieving. Ma'am,you have not achieved today. You've let
the American public down. It's upto me, you'd be gone. He
kind of put it on the line, John. The fact that Biden didn't

(16:11):
fire her, of course, Imean, my God, that we can
go go down that lonely road.If you know why that Joe Biden doesn't
he really even exist mentally. Theone fact that really struck me the most
is I was watching a lifetime twoweeks ago. Excuse me, are two
things real quick? Dan. Thefact that I heard that a local law
enforcement officer had actually come up andactually on the roof and actually saw crooks.

(16:36):
I hate to say his name, but he saw that the individual.
Why he either a didn't engage rightthen and there. He had every right
to draw his weapon, draw down, say drop it, exchange fire if
not, if he felt he couldn'tbe safe, come down. The communications
system should have allowed him to say, I have an active possible shooter on

(16:57):
the roof. Mister Trump cannot comeout. We need to engage or you
know, resolve this situation. Thatto me is fundamental law enforcement. I'm
feeling incredulous that that didn't happen. The other thing is that the people,
the Secret Service agents who got ontop of mister Trump Trump after he was

(17:18):
nicked, they did a great job. Don't get me wrong, they were
fearless. I'll just be politically incorrect. Is I'm watching this and you can
hear the audio, Dan, andwe've all heard it so many times.
You hear the one agent go,we're going to get him out on my
ready, and then nothing happens. As I'm watching this, it's like,
you know what, I know, you're the ex president, but when shots

(17:41):
are fired, I take over.I am actually your boss. It's my
job to get you out of harm'sway. Mister Trump never moved. I
know they asked somebody he said, well, I wanted my shoes. I
would have said, the hell withyour shoes, mister president, you're gone.
And again, I don't want tobe sexist, leave with it.
The two female agents didn't even getabove his shoulder length. And I know

(18:06):
I'm not the only person to saythis, Dan, when they lifted mister
Trump up and got him off thestage, and mister Trump did that iconic
fifth pump, you know, fight, fight fight. To me, as
an ex law enforcement officer, thestupidest thing and the most careless thing they
could have done. And I knowI'm not the first guy to say this.
If a second shooter had been inthe crowd, there was a headshot.

(18:29):
You get on top of mister Trump'shead, you keep him down,
you get him off the stage, sir in the vehicle, and you get
him off. So there were somany failures on so many parts. The
only thing I'll leave you with toDan is it was a quote unquote victory
for this country. That incompetence wasdiscarded today when she resigned the fact again,

(18:52):
that our sitting president didn't have that, you know what, to fire
her scares me. The fact thathe didn't mister Robert F. Kennedy Junior,
even though he has the bust ofhis father in the Oval Office Deco
Service protection until this incident. Butlerdares me the pettiness. Well, John,
you listen the show a lot,and I hope, yeah, my

(19:12):
audience knows that I advocated for RobertF. Kennedy on several shows in the
months of February March. When Ifirst heard that he had requested and been
denied he should have been given. He requested and deny five times, and
that was May August. I describedthat as one evil and two vile.

(19:37):
It is. And you couple thatwith the fact that now it's come out
I think it was yesterday. Doesthe Trump campaign request there? And of
course she Cheetle refused to answer thisbecause the senator did ask her how many
times did a Trump campaign ask theSecret Service to augment his detail? And
she couldn't answer it. So betweenthat and even denying Robert F. Kennedy,

(19:57):
gods a bid if another Kennedy andthere's no love loss with the Republican
but there are the Kennedy's and itwould have been hurt in any way,
shape or form. It would havebeen clearly on the President of the United
States desk that you turn them down. There's no money out of your pocket,
mister Biden personally, So it's justthe swipe of a pen. Yes,

(20:18):
give the man, you know, protection the fact that he wouldn't do
it. Dan, Pray for misterTrump, Pray for this country. Pray
that the next man or woman ofthe Secret Service is a veteran who came
up through the ranks and didn't protectthe rito's and can actually get this service
back on. Because mister Trump, you made a point, and I'll leave

(20:41):
you definitely believe this. You madethe point. Mister Trump deserves to have
outdoor venues, and if the SecretService says, well, you know,
we're not confident that we can dothat, then infringes on his right the
campaign as somebody who is the mostviable candidate to the highest office of this
land. That it beg the questionof me, as an average American,

(21:02):
to say, what are we doingif the gentleman that wants to run for
president can't do an outdoor venue becausethe Secret Service, which is authorized by
Congress to protect his well being,is ineffective and doesn't feel confident to do
it. Well, then you knowwhat, Dan, I don't know where
we're supposed to go from here.Well, i'll tell you where. I'll

(21:22):
tell you where I think the Trumpcampaign would go. I would bet you
that the Trump campaign this is justa little comment from me. I will
bet you that if the Secret Servicesays this is more than a suggestion,
mister Trump, we are not goingto permit you to do outdoor events.
I will bet you that Trump willget his own supporters, many of them

(21:45):
will be ex military who will staffthe events. Watch see if I'm wrong.
No, And I believe you becausewhen he first came into twenty sixteen,
he had that gentleman, he hadhis private security detail, and it
eventually all in the Secret Service whenhe actually became a viable candidate. And
I agree with you, And justto be sarcastic, I don't think Kamala

(22:07):
Harris has to worry about worrying aboutoverflowing crowds because it's not gonna happen.
Yeah. Well, I saw Isaw it today that they just took a
shot of people waiting outside to getinto an event and there were only like,
honestly twenty people this morning. Nowmaybe maybe there was a late crowd.
I don't know. Hey, John, I hate to do this,
so you've been a great call togain us going. I got to run.

(22:29):
Please keep calling this program. Thanksand thank you too. Thank you,
sir. Thanks by six seven, two four ten thirty six one seven,
nine three ten thirty. Your thoughtson where we go from here?
Should the Trump campaign comply if theSecret Service make a request no more outdoor
rallies. Maybe makes their job alittle easier, maybe spares his life,

(22:52):
but does that interfere with the typeof campaign he wants to run. We'll
be back on Night's Side right afterthe news break at the bottom of the
hour. Sorry, we're a littlebit late. Let's get Let's get to
the news Night Side with Dan Rayon w Boston's news radio. All right,
gets going here. John is agreat caller. Let me go to

(23:15):
Bob and Rain and Bob you werenext on Nightside. Welcome, Hey Dan,
Uh, nice to talk to youagain. Thank you. Right back
at you. I'm worried that thiswoman resigning, uh closes the case and
you know, they put a nicelittle bow on it and say, okay,
well she was the problem. That'sno, no, no, no,

(23:36):
no, that kind of happens away. I understand your concern, but
no, no, I think thatI think that that we have to you
got to get to the bottom ofthis because the next time it could be
it could be another politician. Imean, it could be you know,
it could be any anyone, anyone, and it could be wrong. It

(23:59):
could be done Trump Donald Trump.Again, Dan, I've heard everything from
they knew at least you know,a minute before to fifty seven minutes before.
And isn't that enough to I mean, that sounds like an awful lot
of time in an event like thisto at least keep the president from taking
the podium, you know, withthe suspected you know, shooter about even

(24:25):
a suspicious character, to keep himoff the stage. Oh, absolutely us
about that. I mean, no, no, you're right. They were
told they were. He had what'scalled the rangefinder, which are golfers use
to figure out how long where theirshot is uh and how you know,
how long it is from where theyare to the green? You're one hundred
and seventeen yards of the grain.Yeah, Okay, which way's the wind

(24:48):
blowing? But this guy, hewasn't playing golf out there. And you
don't need a rangefinder. Pure binocularsis one thing, but a rangefinder.
I mean, you know, PresidentTrump should be dead right now. It's
a miracle that he's still alive. And unfortunately that wonderful father and husband and

(25:12):
by a fight is dead and otherpeople are injured. And you know,
this is this really should have neverhappened. I mean, it's gross,
gross incompetence by an agency that pridesitself and his professionalism. And look,
if there were people down the chainof command who you know, Harry Truman

(25:33):
said, the box stops here.Oh she's resigned. Okay, However,
they need to go over day byday, hour by hour, decision by
decision, What was made, whomade it? What information do they have?
Why did they not have people onthat roof. I heard something today
and I don't know if it's trueor not, but I'll tell you I
heard it that supposedly there were somelocals who were supposed to be on the
roof, but it was very hotday and they decided to stay downstairs.

(25:56):
I mean, bockles them up wasto mind, there should have been a
Secret Service agent out there with thelocals, because yeah, go ahead,
I would think it. You know, when they're setting the whole thing up,
isn't somebody the person in Chad standingon the podium where the President's going
to be and looking around and youknow, just simply saying we need a

(26:19):
guy there there and there. Imean, how it's too late for that.
I mean, it's too late forthat when you really think about it,
because you know, you go outand you're saying and apparently this roof,
this root roof had a slight slantto it, so it easily could
have been that this kid stayed onthe side of you know, on the
other side of the roof, youknow, a foot below the top of

(26:42):
the roof, and then once heheard President Trump speaking, got up over,
took a look, it took hisshots. That's what I think happened.
People saw him there even before hemade the crash. Yes, yeah,
they saw him moving and you know, you know, sort of moving

(27:03):
on the other side of the roof. And yeah, but again, was
that was that was that communicated properly? If it was great, If it
wasn't, why it wasn't it assimple as that, Bob. All great
questions you posed, all the questions, Ma man, we got to get
answers to every question you posed inmore. Thanks, thank you, aboub
talk to you soon. Coming rightback on Night's that quick break here.

(27:26):
Now back to Dan ray Line fromthe Window World night Side Studios on w
b Z the news radio. Pickthe base up, Omdat Kenny in Weston,
Massachusetts. Ken, how are youtonight? Maybe we don't have Ken.
We're gonna put Ken on hold. We'll come back to him. Let's
go to Doug in Salem, NewHampshire. Doug, you next on Nightside.

(27:47):
Hi, Dan, how are you? I'm doing great? Doug?
What's your thought on all of this? It's been a crazy ten or eleven
days here in America? Sure has. First of all, I called in
because you asked about where we stoodon the Secret Service saying that Trump can't

(28:07):
have outside rallies anymore. Yeah, yeah, yeah. First of all,
I agree with you that they're justdoing that to make their job easier.
I originally thought to myself when itfirst happened, I'm like, well,
I guess I won't go to arally anytime soon. But then I thought

(28:32):
about it, and I'm like, you know what, like we've all been
you know, like everybody's been talkingabout all night. That shouldn't have happened.
And that was just my initial thoughtwhen it first happened, was I
won't go to a rally anytime soon. But then, you know, after

(28:52):
you start watching everything and everything startssinking in you get all the facts and
everything, I'm like, you knowwhat, there's something something there, and
the fact that she didn't answer anyquestions yesterday, nothing nothing, she shouldn't
answer a single question, avoided everything, yep. And then you know,

(29:15):
they kept saying, you know, you should resign, you should be fired,
you should resign, you should befired, and then today she resigns.
So so where does that Where doesthat leave you tonight? Is what
I'm asking. Yes, I thinkTrump should still have his outdoor rallies,
honestly, And I mean I justthink that if let's say, let's say
that Trump was in a motivate andsome car crashed into which has happened,

(29:40):
okay with the Secret Service said, well, you can't be in a motivate.
I mean, I don't think that'stheir job. No, No,
it's their job to make sure thatthere's no shooters around when you're hosting a
rally or anything else that's going on. And this is one. This is
one that that is so Look.I have never been on that site,

(30:03):
but you could have. You lookedat that site. That is very very
simple location. The perimeter was tooclose. They should have had the perimeter
on the other side of those buildings. There should have been nobody who got
it passed. Uh and they justhow close we came, how close we
came. I agree, all right, Doug. I appreciate your perspective.

(30:27):
Thank you much. I appreciate it. Dan, thank you so much.
You're welcome. Okay, Next upTony in Los Angeles from the from the
West coast. Tony, what's yourthought out there? Dan? Okay,
how are you, sir? Okay, I'm hoping. I'm doing fine.
I just I just look at thiswhole situation. I realized how close we
came to losing another media and localfigure. We're starting to look like,

(30:51):
you know, some sort of littlebanana Republican in Central America. We have
to put that woman in prison. He's got to go away for five to
ten years. You're not going toget her on a concept charge, you
know, but we need to getfrom her the truth as to who made
what decisions and you know what, what did they know? It always goes

(31:15):
back to what did they know andwhen did they know it? Yes,
okay, and you're right, prisonmaybe wouldn't work. But she's got to
be investigated. She's got to beput in a room, and she's going
to be asked questions that she won'tanswer. Right now, Dan, it's
imperative to this country. We haveto examine this situation until we get it

(31:36):
the way we need to see it. Yeah, I mean, I think
we have the equivalent here of theWarren Report, which was so controversial in
the Oswalt you know, assass orthe Kennedy assassination by Lee Harvey Oswald.
There's still people who who were andI'm one of them. I don't think
we ever got the final story ofthe Kennedy assassination. I'm sure we didn't.
I'm sure that were there were peopleinvolved peripherally that got covered up.

(31:59):
Who knows this And the reason thatthere's so many conspiracy theories and movies about
it is that they weren't forthcoming andtell you, let's learn from our past
experience. Let the chips fall wherethey may. And if it cost twenty
people their jobs, so be it. Anybody who made a decision which was

(32:19):
clearly inappropriate. Wrong, anyone whosaid, should we put someone up there
on the roof, Nah, Ithink we're fine with that. That's only
one hundred and fifty yards away.I mean someone would have to have a
rifle with a scope. You know, we're in western Pennsylvania. Nobody out
here has rifles with a scope.Oh, it is out of control.
It shouldn't have happened. And thiswoman has got to be grilled until she

(32:45):
cries out the truth of what she'sall about and what happened. She has
to be accountable. Dance she hasall right? All right, Tony,
I got you. I got youon the record, strong, strong points.
Thank you, Tony, appreciate it. Okay, I have a great
night. Going to go next toMichael in Atliborough. Michael next on nights.
I go ahead, Hey, Dan, great show you. I'm with

(33:06):
Tony. I'm just a little curiousshe resigns. I'm guessing she's still going
to get benefits. That's who's howit works, right, Yeah, she's
resigned unless there's some showing of youknow, improper actions, and again,
you don't lose your benefits because youdisplayed bad judgment, So she's not likely

(33:30):
to lose whatever benefits she's earned.I just think, you know, it's
the Peter principle. People somehow canrise up through organizations, not only corporate
organizations, but federal government organizations, and you know, somehow, some way
they keep getting promoted, and she'sthe head of it. The buck stops

(33:51):
here, said Harry Truman. Now, if they continue the investigation, are
they allowed to subpoena or her cellphone? And? Oh, absolutely absolutely,
Plus her cell phone probably was propertyof the US government. I don't
know that you know that she's usinga personal cell phone. I'm sure that

(34:14):
she was issued a uh, youknow, an encrypto government cell phone,
and they should they should be ableto get a lot of information off of
her cell phone. I mean thatthey would need a subpoena and a warrant
to get access to it. ButI think the level if she's not cooperating,
she should hand her cell phone over, is what she should do.
And if she says I'm not handingmy cell phone over, now you maybe

(34:36):
have some probable cause, but Idon't want to I just want to assume
it was gross languages. I don'twant my mind to run that decisions were
made based on political preference. That'sdo I think that that she said,
I got together with some service agents. Let's put them out there and see
what happens. Absolutely not, that'sthat would be criminal. But they stalled.

(34:59):
I think they absolutely stalled when theyknew the guy was in the roof
and and he couldn't have been walkingon all with a rifle. They keep
saying it's a shed. I thinkhe hit it in the shed of something
two nights before. I don't know. But anyway, what I read,
and again this is what I read, was that he may have hidden the
rifle at some point earlier in theday, or maybe even the day before,

(35:23):
behind an air conditioning unit, thesame air conditioning unit that he used
to hoist himself up onto the roof. Right, Okay, thank you,
thanks Michael, appreciate the call.Yep, all right, we're gonna stick
with this into the next hour.I don't want to short change either Tom
or Tina. If you'd like tojoin the conversation, we're talking about,

(35:45):
how do we get to the bottomof what could have been another American tragedy,
and that would have been the assassinationof Donald Trump. Six seven two
five four ten thirty one line theresix one, seven nine, ten thirty.
We had a couple of folks whodropped off. Feel free to call
back. We'll get you on.We'll give you a little bit of credit

(36:05):
for the time you were waiting. My name's Dan Ray. This is Nightside.
We're talking about the resignation of SecretService Director Kimberly Cheadle, who I
think never should have been appointed inthat position. Didn't have the experience it
should be going forward. It shouldbe an appointment that is made not by
the president, but made by somegroup of political and leaders, maybe ex

(36:29):
military leaders. Someone like a DavidPetraeus would be on that board, someone
who would who would really be interestedin finding the most qualified person for it,
not someone who is a political hack. Back on Nightside, right after
