Screenwriter and producer Anthony McCarten is regarded as one of the most celebrated Kiwi storytellers.
Born and raised in New Plymouth, Anthony McCarten went on to write and produce several acclaimed biopics and became a four-time Academy Award nominee.
He's worked on The Theory of Everything, Darkest Hour, Bohemian Rhapsody, The Two Popes and Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody.
Anthony McCarten says hit most recent novel, Going Zero was inspired by discussions that the collective reliance on electronic devices was working against everyone.
"The sinister side of technology then worked its way into our conversation about disappearing, the ubiquitous surveillance world we all live in now, and we're accepting of it. But if we had to, would we disappear off the map, how would we manage? The book emerged from that."
