Gardening expert and social media star Leah Evans has an unexpected solution to rising food prices.
For the last several years, Evans and her family (including two sons) have been living off the homegrown food in the family's expansive garden.
Passionate about gardening and food security, she is also a volunteer teaching food growing in schools and has a background in health science.
Her new book, Hands in the Dirt: Grow your own kai with Mrs Evans includes all the basics of vege growing- and several healthy recipes.
"I think over the last two generations, there has been a reliance on convenience. And I think that that has perhaps contributed to a disinterest- maybe we take it for granted that we're always going to be able to buy things."
