Speaker 1 (00:01):
Well, I want a dynamic country where private enterprise carries
the day, not the government. No matter what I do,
this group of people in front of us, I could
come up with the cure to the worst disease that
the world has ever seen. Like they'ing to sit there, angry,
insolent with cellar faces.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
Good Monday morning, Ben Ferguson with you.

Speaker 4 (00:23):
It's nice to have you on the forty seven Morning Update,
and we've got three big stories for you. First up,
Columbia University finding out that when you mess with Donald Trump,
there are real problems, and now their federal funding is gone.
Plus a student has been arrested that was a pro
Palestinian activist and he may even be deported. Up next,

(00:44):
Donald Trump comes out with a new jobs report showing
a massive gain for American workers and fewer jobs for
foreign born workers.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
What does this mean for you? I'll explain it in
a moment.

Speaker 4 (00:55):
And finally Donald Trump says, let's make a deal, making
a new play for Greenland to come into the US.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
It's the forty seven Morning Update and it starts right now.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
Story number one I want to take you back to
May sixth of twenty twenty four. Donald Trump was speaking
outside of the criminal trial in New York City. Remember
when he was forced to do those daily little quick
briefings before he was forced into the courtroom, when law
Fair was all over, Donald.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Trump trying to take him out of the presential race.

Speaker 4 (01:27):
He was still laser focused then about the radicalization on
our college campuses, including at Columbia University.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
And this is what he had to say in the
summer of twenty twenty four.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Now it just came out Columbia just canceled their commenser.
Actually US Columbia just canceled their commenser.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
That shouldn't happen.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
And it also came out that the protesters, many of
the protesters are back by Biden showners. Okay, are you
listening Israel? Hek you listening Israel hoping getting spot But
they're backed by bike donors. That's where the money's coming from.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
That's where the money's coming from. The President made it
clear that if he was elected again, he was going
to hold these universities accountable for not stopping the anti
Semitic protests and violent protests and threats against students. Well,
the president is now paying off on that promise. Donald
Trump cuts more than four hundred million dollars in grants

(02:27):
to Columbia over anti semitism concerns, and potentially there are
more cuts to come.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
The Trump administration announcing that it will resind more than
four hundred million in federal grants to Columbia University, setting
concerns over the rising anti semitism on campus and the
school's failure to address it. Earlier this week, the Department
of Health and Human Services and the US General Services Administration,
as well as the Education Department, announced the initiation of

(02:56):
a quote comprehensive review of more than five billion in
federal grant money that goes to Colombia. Why on earth
are we spending five billion dollars to Colombia is the
question you should be asking right now. By the way,
and in light of ongoing investigations for potential violations, they
said of the Civil Rights Act related to anti semitism

(03:17):
on campus, all of the funding will be under review.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
Quote.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
It has only been four days since the Trump administration
announced the review, but the agencies have already begun slashing
the funds. Sources familiar with the matter, who asked to
remain anonymous, said that more than four er million in
federal grants from AHHS and the DOED will be rescinded
from Colombia as a result of the anti semitism that
is continuing, they believe on campus. Now, as the review

(03:45):
of Columbia's grant dollars continues, additional federal funding could be
rescinded as well. But that's not all that Donald Trump
is doing to make good on his promise. We now
know that Ice has arrested a radical pro Palacinian activit
at Columbia University and he may now face deportation. In fact,

(04:05):
Secretary of State Marco Rubio just issued a new statement
after the Trump administration arrested the activists, and he said
this quote, we will be revoking the visas and or
green cards of Hamas supporters in America so they can
be deported. This goes back to the saying that seems

(04:26):
to becoming a trend with this administration FAFO. And not
only did President Trump cut the four hundred million in funding,
but as he said and warned on the campaign trail,
if you are a guest in this country and we've
allowed you to come study in America, and you are
a active violent protester, we will get you out of

(04:46):
this country. Now, there's also word that this may not
be the only student who is arrested as a pro
Palacinian activist. In fact, they say they're not just setting
an example, but they are actually going after individuals that
are doing violence on college campuses. So at the end
of the day, Donald trump promises became a reality that

(05:07):
if you are one of those that is doing harm
and you're not from the US on an American campus,
get the hell out. And as for Columbia University, good
luck finding four hundred million dollars somewhere else as you're
not protecting Jewish students on campus. Next story number two,
putting Americans First. What a novel idea, yet it's something

(05:28):
that shocked so many Americans as Donald Trump was running
for president. Well, he's paying off on that promise with
a new jobs report showing two hundred and eighty four
thousand more Americans are working and eighty seven thousand fewer
foreign born workers are working. That is a big change
from the Biden administration to the Trump policy, which is

(05:49):
to put Americans first. The President announcing this from the
Oval Office, and here is what he had to say.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
Native born Americans. For the first time in fifteen months,
the job gains for native born Americans, for American people,
people born in America, exceeded job gains for migrant and
foreign born workers. This is the first time that's happened
in more than fifteen months. Employment for native born workers
went up by two hundred and eighty four thousand, while

(06:19):
foreign born workers went down by eighty seven thousand. Now,
you know, you've heard the same stat where foreign workers
were taking up all the jobs or almost all the jobs,
in some cases literally all of the jobs. And now
it's two hundred and eighty four thousand native born jobs here,
people born in our country two hundred and eighty four thousand. Well,

(06:43):
foreign born workers went down by eighty seven thousand. First
time that's happened in a long time. So these are
incredible numbers, and they're they're very early. I mean, you know,
we're here for five weeks, but we have been talking
about it since the big win in November fifth. So
a lot of these people they listened to or speak

(07:04):
and they say, well, I'm going to gear up and
they're gearing up, and so they've been gearing up. They've
had a little time. It's not just it's not just
five weeks. It's five weeks plus a few months now.

Speaker 4 (07:12):
The part of the story that the mainstream media does
not want you to understand is this is a direct
change in an administrative position from the White House that
caused this massive amount of Americans to get employment while
foreign workers employment went down.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
How do we know this well.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
President Joe Biden's economic policies literally invited migrants to take
almost five million jobs that would otherwise have gone to
five million Americans. That's what they referred to as the
replacement strategy. Cut American wages and workplace investment, and that
did a lot of damage to Americans. And the reason

(07:50):
why they did it is because they wanted to bring
in people from overseas to undermine Americans. Why because they
wanted to bring into legal immigrants as well, and that
was part of their strategy to replace you with foreign workers.
But there was also another part of this plan from
the Biden administration. It was also to boost employment numbers.
It left you out of those numbers as Americans were

(08:11):
being sidelined. Five million of you were being sidelined and
put at the back of the employment line. Yet the
President was claiming that things were great in this country.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
Well, now, Donald Trump's.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
Good data that was released by the Bureau of Labor
Statistics is showing that Americans are being put back at
the front of the line, and they expect these numbers
to get even better. So the good news is, if
you're an American, you now have a president that's fighting
for you to get a great paying American job.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
And here is story number three.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
It was an idea that Donald Trump said and many laughed,
the idea that Greenland would become a part of America. Well,
Donald Trump seems to be really focused on this becoming
a reality. In fact, that the State of the Union
less than a week ago, the President said this, and I.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
Have a message tonight for the incredible people of Greenland.
We strongly support your right to determine your own future,
and if you choose, we welcome you into the United
States of America. We need Greenland for national security and
even international security, and we're working with everybody involved to
try and get it. But we need it really for

(09:21):
international world security, and I think we're going to get
it one way or the other.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
We're going to get it.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
We will keep you safe, we will make you rich,
and together we will take Greenland to heights like you
have never thought possible before. It's a very small population,
but very very large piece of land and very very
important for military security.

Speaker 4 (09:46):
Well, now we know that President Trump had a lot
more you want to say than just those words that
say of the Union. Now President Trump is vowing to
quote invest billions into Greenland and to create new jobs
if greenland Ers decide to join the United States, adding
that they would be very welcome.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
Quote.

Speaker 4 (10:02):
As I made clear during my joint address to Congress,
the United States strongly supports the people of Greenland's right
to determine their own future. We will continue to keep
you safe. He went on to say, as we have
since World War Two. We are ready to invest billions
of dollars to create new jobs and make you rich,
and if you so choose, we welcome you to be

(10:23):
a part of the greatest nation anywhere in the world,
the United States of America. Now the left is freaking out,
and they're also helping with the media coverage. As Greenland's
Prime minister responded to Trump's statement from earlier this year
saying that Greenland is quote not for sale and would
never be for sale. That is what they said to
The Guardian at the time, saying Greenland is ours, we

(10:46):
are not for sale and will never be for sale.
We must not lose our long struggle for quote freedom.
The President made it very clear he's not trying to
quote by the country. He is, however, saying to the
people that if you want to become a part of
America and make sure that you're safe, we'd love to
have you. Now, why is the Prime Minister of Greenland
against this because it means that he would lose a

(11:07):
lot of power.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
And the media.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
Also wants to make sure that Donald Trump fails so
they can laugh in his face, just as the Democrats
are laughing when the President brought up Greenland during the
State of the Union. But it's very obvious now that
the President has a long term plan to get this done.
And let's be honest, Donald Trump is the master of
well the art of the deal.
