Wake up. It gets my daygoing and makes me lab I it Mac
and Schmidty in the morning on Starone oh five point seven, Well,
good morning, Schmitty, Good morningman. Happy weekend Eve. If you're
pretending you have some doctor's appointment latertoday so you can leave a little early

(00:23):
for happy Draft Day one in Detroit. It's gonna be a big day,
it really is. I mean thedrafts. It doesn't happen here. You
don't know if it's gonna happen again. Shoot next twenty years, fifty years,
who knows. Like a Lion's playoffgame, you never know when you're
getting kitchen next one, So don'ttake it for granted. It's looking really
cool over there. My brother wasMy brother lives over there. He was

(00:43):
walking around a little bit yesterday. It's some dust and videos, boil boys.
I gonna be fun to watch thisweekend, movies, music, and
all the gossip in one place. It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five
point seven. Well, TikTok's CEOsays they're not going anywhere. President Biden
signing a bill officially banning TikTok inAmerica. This was yesterday. Unless it

(01:07):
sold to a US based company. But according to CEO Shosi Shue, who
posted a video in response, thereis no way this is going to be
happening. It's actually ironic because thefreedom of expression on TikTok reflects the same
American values that make the United Statesa beacon of freedom. TikTok gives everyday

(01:27):
Americans a powerful way to be seenand heard, and that's why so many
people have made TikTok part of theirdaily lives. Rest assured, we aren't
going anywhere. We are confident, and we will keep fighting for your rights
in the courts. He says. The Constitution is on the company's side and
they're going to be citing First Amendmentrights in defending their position. What you

(01:49):
didn't see in that video was himdoing a pretty sweet choreographed dance while he
was making that video. Well, there's no dance. I'm like man to
your audience. Tupac Shakurs is statelaying it down on Drake, threatening to
drag the rapper to courts over anAI generated version of the Late Rappers voice
used for a disc track aimed atKendrick Lamar. There was a cease and

(02:13):
desist letter fired off by an attorneyfor Tupac's estate, and it calls out
Drake for an AI verse on Taylormade freestyle. It says, not only
is the record a flagrant violation ofTupac's publicity and the estate's legal rights,
it's also a blatant abuse of thelegacy of one of the greatest hip hop

(02:35):
artists of all time. The estatesays it would never have given approval for
this, and here's the ultimatum.Take down the track in less than twenty
four hours and explain how it wasmade, or we go further with serious
legal action. It's interesting because Ifeel like, and I'd have to look
this up. Didn't Drake sue aguy who made a Drake song that also

(02:58):
featured with The Weekend? Yeah,so like somebody already used AI to impersonate
Drake and he hated it, andthen he just put out his song with
one of the greatest dead rappers ofall time. And also Snoop still alive.
How does Snoop feel about that?I think we're going to be seeing
a lot of AI lawsuits in thenext few years. It's all I'm going
to be talking about. Finally,a big day yesterday for Reggie Bush,

(03:21):
who, for most fans' perspectives, was reunited with what is rightfully his.
The Heisman Trust is reinstating the formerUSC SuperStar's prestigious award after he was stripped
of the honor back in two thousandand ten. So you'll remember, it
was ripped from him after an NCAAinvestigation determining his family received improper benefits while

(03:43):
he was a member of the Trojansprogram. A lot like Nil. Now,
that's exactly what they said. Thingshave drastically changed in recent years,
and so it is going to beback. He was welcomed into the Heisman
family, with the Trust actually sharinga picture of Reggie posing with his trophy
yesterday afternoon. It's interesting because I'mglad that Reggie Bush got his Heisman back.
At the same time I'm really curiousis to see if this is sort

(04:05):
of Pandora's box of looking back intime at things that people got in trouble
for that now they would not getin trouble. I called this like a
year ago when they brought up Nil. I was like, okay, well
then you need to go back throughand look at a lot of these people
that kind of suffered over these rules, and then later on you're like,
oh, never mind, we actuallydo need to make a lot of money.

Michigan wake up. Well, theblowback has continued. Business groups led by
the US Chamber of Commerce are suingthe Federal Trade Commission over that recent ban
on new non compete agreements. Sothe rule requires employers to throw out existing
non compete agreements as well as notifiedcurrent and former workers. They will not

(04:51):
be enforced. There is an exemptionfor senior executives. Here's a report from
the Hill. The FTC says thatfor approximately one in five US workers that
are bound by a noncompete clause,it means they cannot freely switch jobs for
better pay or benefits. The newrule is expected to boost benefits and wages
by four hundred and eighty eight milliondollars over the next ten years. Yeah,

(05:15):
the agency says the non compete banallowing thirty million people that's eighteen percent
of the US workforce to change jobswithin their industry and hopefully earn more money

drop in water pressure Wednesday morning leftthousands of customers with issues, including Moskegon

one minute. It is saved toboth bathe and shower with, and according

That's right, day one of theNFL draft kicks off and there is
a ton going on downtown Detroit. But even our very own Governor Gretchen Whitmer

(06:21):
getting in on all the hype, posting a video to X yesterday of her
best shot at drawing a lion.I gotta trust the process. This is
going to be really and indeed itwas. But we're already getting a sneak
peek at some of the cool fanexperiences. And I want to give a

just after one pm. Sometimes doesthat get a good feeling? Yeah,
glad to do this. SCHMITTI isfeeling good on Style win O, Fine
Points seven Mac and Schmitty hanging withyou on these Thursday morning. And this
is so cool because it's a kid. It's to day, Shimitti. Kids

(07:47):
are waking up with some brand newbikes here in West Michigan. I love
this. Dozens, actually over onehundred kids at Kenawa Hill's Public Schools Elementary
came home brand new bicycles yesterday. For a lot of those kids, it
was their very first brand new bicycle, a total of one hundred and five
delivered to Alpine Elementary for first andsecond graders. Every single one of them

(08:11):
got these new bikes, not tomention the necessary safety equipment helmets and pads
to go with them. There werehandbuilts by volunteers from Paar and Brewing Company
actually right here in West Michigan, along with dozens of volunteers, many of
them teachers and staff from over thereat Elpine Elementary. Really cool. Can't
aid Threads and Trails is who thisdonation along with Yasso game On Foundation made

(08:35):
this possible, and one of theirrepresentatives, Jeff Landowski, talking to Fox
seventeen about how the timing on thisabsolutely perfect. The timing for the donation
couldn't be better. It's right whenthe weather is getting better. They want
to go hit the trails or hitthe roads with their friends. So we're
just excited to give these kids anavenue to get out and get active,
get out, get active and havesome fun like every kid deserves to do.

(08:58):
Big shout out again, Can andAID and the YAsO Game Game on

All Right, the NFL Draft hasarrived in the d O. I'm
sorry, Eminem said, we shouldn'tsay that anymore. Detroit. Of course
tonight night one and all the talkingheads are going to be there, the
Adam Schefters and the Colin cow Herds. But now we've got our own NFL

(09:20):
pro right here in West Michigan.I love this. Shout out to Alec
Johnikopolis with Wood TV. He satdown with seven year old Quentin Olsen,
who lives in grind Rapids and isa cirtip Fiede NFL fanatic his mom says
that Quinton actually scouts and does mockdrafts of all the new NFL players every

(09:43):
single week. So of course, with my Chicago Bears having the very first
pick this evening, Aleck had toask what Quentin thinks they're going to do.
Let's get into it. Then theBears they're picking first. Who do
the Bears pick first overall on thisdraft? Cambams because he has a big
game. It's really kind of likean obvious pick, you guys, It's

(10:07):
an obvious pick, me s CalebWilliams. The second selection, Quentin says,
the Washington Commanders are going to takeDrake May. Third selection. He's
going for raining Heisman Trophy winner JadenDaniels out of LSU. This kid has
got it down to a science. You want to see the video. He's

(10:28):
so good at West Michigan Star dotcom. And don't forget eight pm tonight
night one of the NFL Draft. You can catch the action on ninety six
to one in the game. Lookout mel Kiper all right on the way,
we are hooking you up with somelive music. Want to get you
out to Shakira as well. Andyou know we're always bringing more positivity your
way too. Don't forget failing goodcomes your way twice each morn and we'll
do it again this morning at nineto twenty on Star Movies, Music and

(10:52):
all the Gossip in one place. It's the Celebrities Gooop on Star one oh
five point seven. Well, MaddyHealy from the nineteen seventy five, possibly
more well known as one of Taylor'sSwift's potential x's, is responding a little
bit to Taylor's disk track. Thereare a couple of songs off the new
album, including but Daddy, ILove Him and the Tortured Poet's Department Itself

(11:16):
that are allegedly about her relationship withMaddie. So TMZ caught up with him.
Get this, How would you rateyour Taylor disktrack compared to the thirty
others? My distruck? Yeah,Taylor's new song, I haven't any I've
really listened to that much. Didthough, I'm sure it's good. Oh
you know, he hasn't listened toit at all, hasn't been on his

(11:39):
hasn't been on his headphones one singletime. Couldn't possibly know, wouldn't have
any idea. So that's very interesting. Now, speaking of the Tortured Poets
Department. One of those other bigsongs was allegedly a distrack to Kim Kardashian.
Well, swifties think this was abit of shade being thrown Taylor's way.

(12:00):
Did you notice Kim's insta yesterday, the reality star posting a selfie that
featured herself, Chloe and W Magazine'sSarah Moonvez. They were cozied up around
this guy named Derek Glassberg who wascelebrating a birthday. But Carly Closs was
also in the picture. And rememberCarly is a very famous frenemy of Taylor's.

(12:20):
The two had some big falling outa few years ago. They used
to be really really tight. Younever see them together anymore, and Kim
made sure that this throwback pick fromtwenty twenty two went up front and center
on her socials. Yeah, thatCarly person, because I don't really know
who that is basically, but shewas part of the girl Squad right when
the whole Bad Blood. She wasin the Bad Blood video. She was

(12:41):
in the Bad Blood video, andthe two really don't spend time together anymore,
so I don't know. I gotto tell you, I don't want
to like talk trash on girls. But this does only something I would do
if I was trying to send amessage to Finally, Paris Hilton is putting
a spotlight on early two thousands tabloidfodder, producing a new docuc examining the
way female celebrities were treated in theearly two thousands, and she plans to

(13:05):
show a spotlight on herself as well. So her production company acquired the rights
to Sarah Diedam's book called Toxic Women, Fame and the Tabloid two thousands,
and Paris plans to transform that bookinto an entire DOCU series with herself as
one of the subjects. She's goingto take a look at the lives of
nine A listers, including Brittany LindsayLohan, Amy Winehouse, Jennifer Aniston,

(13:30):
Kim Kardashian and others and kind ofhighlight how hard it was. According to
Paris, the series is going toallow her and others to reclaim the toxic
narrative they faced throughout most of thoseearly two thousands, kind of taking back
the reins of their own story. No word on an official premiere date on
this, but it'll be a verybig deal and I wouldn't be surprised if

(13:52):
she kind of taps into some ofher past trauma that really kicked off what
her life was like in those earlytwo thousands. Yeah, it feels like
a lot of the women that youhad just mentioned right there sort of got
put into boxes publicly that they kindof had to fit into for quite a
long time, and you saw allof them break out of them in different
ways, and sometimes it wasn't inthe best way. All of your celeb
scoop at West Michigan Star dot Comcome on it to you. It's Mac

(14:16):
and Schmidty, and I like tohear that. Schmidty, you lived a
bucket list item yesterday. What awesomething did you do? I've always wanted
to be a bartender, Okay, you guys. I realized that it might
make me sound a little lushy,but I've I don't know, I just
think bartending is so interesting. Andit's mostly because I've always wanted to use
the pop gun. I think thatthing is so cool. I can see

(14:39):
it go into that But that thingis cool. It is as cool as
you could dream it to be.So last night I was telling you guys
all about this. I celebrity bartendedfor a huge fundraiser benefiting the Leukemia and
Lymphoma Society. We're out at Noko. I think there were gosh fifteen of
us local celebrities manning the bar,and we had a We were making up

(15:01):
like signature drinks. They had thisblood orange margarita I was doing it.
Turns out like my draft pores arereally really good. We had a couple
of bartenders, like legitimate bartenders, that were helping us, and we had
a blast. I was doing likefive castas in my little my little pop
gun with splash of crane. Thegun is mine. Everybody, if you
want something to just bring it overmy station. Getting some water to like

(15:24):
salt my room. I loved thatthing, and I just always thought it
would be really fun to be abartender. I think it's like a hairdresser
too. You get to talk toso many different people. Yeah, that's
what I thought. You said thatyou've always thought about it. I was
like, well, of course, you're a very personable person who's entertaining to
have a conversation. Your drama andyou and you are not impartial to a

(15:45):
cocktail from time to time and sharingone with the others is neverpathic. It's
kind of in your groove. Ican see why you would love well,
it turns out number one pop gun, number two getting to meet new people.
Okay, but I was going towork in the I love that pop
gun one in my house to havethe presets on it, where like you
could just push the buttons. Ohyeah, pops crayon water water for soda.

(16:07):
Like, I'm surprised today it wasso well here. So here's the
thing. I was like, Oh, this is great, it's for a
great cause, and we'll just beback there like showing our pretty faces poor
in a couple. No. No, we were bartenders. And if you've
ever worked in that industry, ina service industry, that's that high paste

(16:29):
and high stress. I bow down, that is some of the hardest work
I've ever done. And please, like, don't don't come at me and
be like, why you know Iwork construction in an hour. I know
there are very challenging and difficult jobs. I was just so surprised at how
much you have to know, howquickly you have to do it, and
like sometimes how impatient people can be. And anyone who's ever bartended, I'm

(16:52):
sure is listening right now. Like, girl, I've been tell you so.
I mean, we got done lastnight, and the two bartenders from
Noco who had been helping us out, Oh, we're just so wonderful,
and every single one of us,you know, local celebrities, were like,
thank you so much. I willnever ever, like think that this
is not one of the hardest.I'm gonna start tipping like seventy percent on

(17:15):
my bar tabs and stuff. It'sa hard job. Turns out, out
of the two positions in this relationship, I belong on the other side of
the guys are the reason I'm settingmy booty on that stool. It was
nuts And I always think that's aninteresting question to ask people, right,
if you didn't do what you donow, what would you love to do?
And we got some interesting remarks.Brenda said she would love to be

(17:40):
a documentary filmmaker. She did itback in her twenties and would love to
do it again. That's a goodone. My two are so weird and
different. Like the first one thatpops into my head is like childhood dinosaur
fanatic of archaeologist. I would loveto be a cross between Indiana Jones and
Sam Neil from Jurassic Park. Soyou're gonna say Indiana Jones and Ross Keeller.

(18:02):
It was like me too, yeah, no, yeah, why not
for sure? And then alignment likethe guys who climb up and fix so
the electrical poles and stuff like that. I think that's such a like a
like a interesting you're up there. There's danger involved in technicalness and just I'm
always impressed by those guys, youknow, those speaking of construction. I've
always wanted to draw lines on theroad. Ooh, that looks satisfied to
us. It's like just so straightand nice. Six one six, four

(18:26):

yours. It's star one oh fivepoint seven, hoping to score you ten
the Graw tickets with what year wasit? Johnny's daddy was taking this shit,

(18:51):
he was eight years Everything that touchesit's all Kingdom welcome. Jo.
Hey, maybe I'll give you acall sometimes their number still nine one one

(19:17):

This is Greg? Hey Greg?Great callings from today? Man,
I am in Haystons. All right, Greg, do you know what year

Greg? What gave it to you? I had to go with I had

(19:40):

of the Lion King. Thank youso much, James Earl Jones your best
role yes always? Well, Imean Darth Vader too, and a Star

You are very welcome, Always hereto hook you up. We said

(20:00):
awesome each and every Thursday. Whatyear was it? We'll do it again
next Thursday. Seven forty five yereon Star Movies, music and all the
gossip in one place. It's thecelebrities goop on Star one oh five point
seven. Well, I'm sure TaylorSwift isn't mad that she impressed the person
most important. Uh. Donna Kelceyloves the new Torture Poets Department album.

(20:25):
Of course, Taylor's boyfriend, Travis'sMom was at qbc's first ever Age of
Possibility summit in Vegas yesterday. Talkingto People magazine, she said, Oh,
I listened to the whole album, and I listened to it all morning
long when it was released. Andof course the song you're hearing right now,
this is the Alchemy, which Swifty'sbelieve is actually about Travis. Donna

(20:48):
went on to say, I wasjust very impressed. She is a very
talented woman, and I think it'sprobably her best work. When asked if
Donna had any advice for Swift aboutgrowing older, Donna said, oh,
she doesn't need my advice on anything. In fact, I'm hoping she gives
me a lot of advice. Jamalikes Taylor. I'm sorry, but any
lyrics that have the words touched downin them about a guy, I'm pretty

(21:11):
sure it's a little on the nose. That's not very Taylor's art. U
Usher is explaining how his fifteen yearold son snuck on his phone so he
could DM artist Pink pantherss. Ushertook to her his Instagram stories yesterday,
saying it was very odd when hepopped into his messages and noticed something coming

(21:36):
from someone that had a powerpuff Girlas her profile picture, and that's when
he explained that his fifteen year oldhad popped into Pink Panthers' DMS to talk
about how much he absolutely loves her, and then she responded, apparently Usher's
son in all caps goes, oh, my gosh, I didn't think you

(21:57):
were going to answer, thank youliking my post. Then Usher gets on
and goes, wow, I'm supersorry dot dot dot. My son is
clearly a superfan, but it's verysweet. She actually said, don't apologize.
I'm so happy to have this internetaction and I would love to host
you all at my next show, which happened. Uh. Usher then gave
an update his son was at hershow the other night even went backstage to

(22:21):
take a picture with her after theyfacetimed. It was really really sweet,
so Usher said parental takeaway. Itwas a great moment. And even though
he violated my trust and in theprocess, I'll never really trust him around
my phone for that, I appreciatethe hustle and him making it happen.
Yeah, I don't think the applefalls far from the tree too far that
oh gosh, celebrity life. Finally, the Detroit Lions are definitely invested in

(22:48):
some serious future keeping a pair ofall Pro players under contract. This was
wild. Yesterday the Lions and widereceiver I'm and Rossaint Brown agreed to a
four year con tracked extension worth morethan one hundred and twenty million dollars seventy
seven million in guarantees. They alsocame to terms with offensive tackle Penny Sewell

(23:11):
four years, one hundred and twelvemillion dollars. It's absolutely wild. I
saw somebody post yesterday that the highestpaid wide receiver now resides in Detroit.
Well. And not only that, but that contract at Penny Sewell signed,
which is huge. He's the bestoffensive lineman in the league. The guy's
unbelievable. That's the biggest contract foran offensive lineman ever. Yeah, so

(23:33):
we've going to see Night one ofthe NFL Draft to night eight pm.
By the way, coverage on oursister station ninety six won the game.
All of your celebscoo. But WestMichigan Star dot com. I what a

or my temper because it happens atleast one time anytime I go on vacation
with my entire family. I wasgonna say dignity, but your answer is
better. Six one six, fourfive eight one oh five seven Caller seven,
first chance at that number one answer. One hundred women surveyed. Name
something you always lose on vacation. You could be watching our Griffins and playoff

(24:41):

mackin Smitty the Morning. I havea little issue with the phone lines a
second ago, So let's get thiswinner for Battle of the Sexes in these

whole crew here. Let's see ifyou can gang up on this question,
you'd win some playoff hockey tickets. You gotta tell me. When one hundred
women were asked to name something youalways lose on vacation, what do you

(25:25):
think their top answer was, guys, Okay, I'm gonna go with one
from my personal experience, which isalways sunglasses. Oh, sunglasses. You
know what? I am so withyou. I think I've lost no less
than I don't know, three hundredand seventy four pairs of sunglasses in my
lifetime. It happens every vacation. And yet, and yet sunglasses is the

(25:49):
number two answer. I'm sorry, that was such a good guess. I'm
right there with you, all right. Have a great day, guys,
But you're big Hi star, who'sthis Diane, I just got a great
guest, but not the top answer. One hundred women were asked to name
something you always lose on vacation, and I just heard a great one,

(26:11):
which was sunglasses. Man, thatthat rings so true for me, unfortunately,
but that was the number two mostcommon answer. So you got a
chance here, Dan, Okay,Well my thought was sunglasses. Well,
but let's say cell phone. Oh, losing your phone, Yeah, that
one hurts a lot, but itis not on the loose to the top

(26:32):
five here. I'm sorry, Dan, Oh, thank you, thank you,
Hi Star. Who's this? AndRyan again? Ohen and Ryan.
Let's get you guys tickets for playoffhockey, shall we? You gotta tell
me. One hundred women were askedto name something you always lose on vacation,
and so far I've heard your phone, which was not one of the

(26:52):
top answers, and I heard sunglasses, which was the number two most common
answer, but not the top oneone. So you guys got a chance.
What do you think it is?Money? Money? Well, I
can tell you that you know, while the boys might not think of that
as the top answer, every parentknows that you are not taking a vacation
without winding up losing some money, whether it's because you spent too much of

(27:15):
it or he actually lost it.Money's the top answer. Congratulations, you
guys are gonna go see our Griffinsplay. Heck, yes, well done,
You're so welcome. It was money, followed by sunglasses than your luggage
and your wallet and keys rounding outthe top answers. Congratulations, guys,

(27:37):

of their playoff series next Wednesday, and we'll have one more chance for you
to get into that game tomorrow ateight point fifteen here on start one oh
five point seven. Congrats and havea great day, guys, go Griffins.
That's right, smart guy right there. Some down does get a good

(28:06):
stelling a fun point seven. Hopingyour Thursdays off to a great start,
but we're always looking to make ita little better. Feeling good right now
on Star and Boy, Michigan fans, you're gonna love this pretty powerful moment.
As JJ McCarthy took one final walkthrough the Big House before the big
NFL Draft kicks off tonight in Detroit, Brad Galli with WXYZ was there.
They talked about everything from his quarterbacklooks in a first touchdown, to games

(28:33):
against Ohio State to officially being anational champion. So much appreciation and gratitude
for everyone that I was involved withhere at all my teammates, all my
coaches, all the fans. Youknow, it was just a tremendous experience,
and I wish it was a littlelonger than three years. But I
felt like it was God calling meto make this next step, and you
know, I'm ready for whatever. But I'm definitely gonna miss it, and

(28:56):
we'll find out about that next step. There's been a lot of trade rumors,
