(00:00):
And gosh a lot of news VicePresident JD. Vance. So Trump announces
that has running made his JD vanceand that's that. Federal judge dismissing the
Trump classified documents case. This happenedearlier today. It was Judge Cannon who
granted Trump's motion to dismiss the trial, ruling the appointment of Special Council Jack

(00:22):
Smith was unlawful, unconstitutional, ifyou will. I'm reading comments all over
the web and different sites of leftiesmelting down over the decision to throw out
that case, and they're like, you know, this is ridiculous. And
you know now by the time theappeals are done, this would be past

(00:42):
the election, so we can't getthem before the election. I get them.
You just tried to kill him.Is that not enough? Sorry,
you missed, You took your shot. You missed because you had a moron
shooting. Thank god, thank god, right, thank god it was a
moron. Yeah. Also, andlet's bring him back in because he's been

(01:02):
on with us since the beginning ofthe show, and he was sitting sixth
row, you know him, JeffSimpson, former FOP president, is back
on with us. Jeff, welcomeback. And there are local police that
were responsible for that building where therally shooter fired from. That's what's being
reported, that building rooftop and wherethat. I don't even want to say

(01:23):
the guy's name, you know whatI mean, It's just one of those
things. I don't even want tomention his name. He doesn't deserve to
be mentioned. He's such a posthis guy. But they the federal law
enforcement official told that the building wasa rally point for a counter sniper team,
with a team stationed in or nearthe building itself, and the report

(01:44):
claims that a police officer climbed theroof saw the shooter, but then retreated
after seeing he was armed with arifle. And then right after then was
when the shots rang out. AndI don't know exactly what you've been I
know you you were telling me earliertoday and we spoke this morning, Jeff,
that you've been, you know, watching and and you know, going

(02:07):
through vetting all of this different stuffbased on what you were seeing. Is
that what you're hearing now as wellhearing the same thing. I know,
we got to move fast after hewas shot. Then the crowd turned to
the innocent fire chief and that wasthe site that I'll never forget PSP.

(02:28):
The troopers were inside like ants andwe're tending to him, and there was
an innocent bisoner doctor to interest compressionson him, and it was that's when
the real chaos ensued and the SecretService told us to get out, grab
my family and went. But that'swhen the state police ran directly across the
street to the north, and therewas a building right there. It's called

(02:50):
the AGR Building. It's some typeof industrial building. And I said,
okay, that's where the guy's comingfrom. But I've been the video the
surface today actually of the guy climbingit. I mean it was went up
the HVAC. But there was twosnipers that we saw stationed up about a
half hour before Trump arrived. Andtold my wife, okay, he's getting

(03:12):
close because they set up. ButI'll never criticize law enforcement because I you
know, I wasn't seeing what theywere seeing. But it is quite possible
they didn't see him until he breachedtheir view. But they were only one
hundred and thirty three yards. AndI'm a Pennsylvania a billy, and that's
a that's a cupcake shot to make. But sometimes communication lacks between those on

(03:37):
the ground. In secret Service,I've worked these events. But yeah,
that's exactly where he came from, just a mere one hundred and thirty three
yards away and had a very clearshot at the president. So I don't
know if that's true about the officer. I hope it's not. But you
can hear on the video people saying, officer, there's a guy on the

(03:58):
roof. Right that happened in theColumbus, we would have been airing that
and going crazy and swarming. LikeWise, Jeff, your many many years
in law enforcement, based on whatyou're seeing now after the fact, and
clearly when you're there, it looksvery different when you're standing right twenty five
feet from President Trump when unfortunately hetook fire. Based on your many years

(04:19):
of law enforcement, are you thinkingnow after the fact, seeing some of
the facts that are coming out thatand it's my assessment based on the same
kind of stuff we wanted to getyour thought on, too. One of
two things happened. There was acolossal breakdown, I mean just too Colossal's
the only way you can describe abreakdown or something inside happened here. Those

(04:44):
are the two things. I mean, what else could you attribute something like
this that could actually happen. Doyou have any thoughts or have you begun
to in your mind think, okaythis this could have possibly happened, or
what could have happened? Yes,they could fast. I was talking to
my wife about it, and it'sjust in your blood. Everybody went down
and I stayed up looking at becauseI thought it was from the inside.

(05:09):
But there it is what it is. I will tell you this. Your
job is to secure the asset. That job was a complete failure. Rather
it's on the Secret Service. Ratherit's on the locals what it could have
should have But a one hundred andthirty three yard target, it's not hard
to identify things could have been donebetter. Hopefully this will change protocols.

(05:33):
But the bottom line is, yes, it was a complete failure to secure
the asset, especially at a mereone hundred and thirty three yards away.
I thought it was I thought itwas understaffed as far as Secret Service.
To be honest with you, Imean, they did their job. They
saved his life, but there wasa lot of other factors. There was

(05:54):
definitely plenty of local law enforcement there. But I told my wife, I
said, I don't understand why thereisn't police over there to the north,
but that's exactly where the two sniperswere, looking exactly to the north at
a mere one hundred and thirty threeyards. So I'm not sure if there's
a communication failure or not, orsometimes you know, you get stale because

(06:15):
you don't see a lot of action. You know, in Columbus, you
know, we go to gun runs, you know, ten twelve times a
night, and when we come,we roll heavy and deep and we're expecting
someone with a gun. So I'mnot quite sure. If I had to
guess, there was probably a communicationbreakdown on getting that information reported to the
Secret Service, and then's then forthem to take time to identify the target.

(06:36):
That would be my guess. ButI know that he had asked for
more security. We all saw thepolitics of that. He wasn't a presidential
candidate, he was a past president, and the uh he should have had
the resources there top notch. Butwhen we actually saw his motorcade leaves about
an hour and a half later, and there was about twenty troopers with him

(07:00):
and it was escorted by helicopter,so they weren't playing games on the way
out. But unfortunately what happened couldhave been avoided, especially that close that.
Jeff Simpson, former FOP president, was in the sixth Row Saturday and
Butler County for the rally with Trumpand about twenty five feet away from President
Trump as shots rang out. Jeff, I can't thank you enough for joining

(07:25):
us. I know everybody's clawing atyou, especially here locally. Thank you
very much for coming on. I'mjust so happy that your family is safe,
that you're safe, and you knowI feel and I'm obviously I'm so
happy that President Trump is safe aswell. But thanks again for joining us.

(07:46):
Appreciate you so much. No problems, stay unified. When that happened,
we were there. There is nocolor, race, color creed.
Everybody pulled together and we're United Statesin America. Be safe,
