Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hey, it's Blazer. So I'm here with my buddy, Congressman
Troy Balderson. And officially the one hundred and nineteenth session
of Congress. Did I say that wrong?
Speaker 2 (00:10):
No, you said it right. The one hundred and nineteenth
Session of Congress begins.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
Right, So officially it's underway. And first measure of business
was election certification. And this was incredible to be in
the House Chamber today watching all the people that you know,
you see on TV constantly, You've seen this place. What
a special place the House Chamber is. And to be
(00:36):
in the gallery and be up there, you know, my
mind kind of wonders to when you know, the great
Rush Limbaugh was up in that gallery and I sent
you that picture. Yeah, yeah, I mean that's where my
mind wonders. I can't help but look around and go man,
Rush was sitting up here. So many different so much
history has taken place clearly inside those those walls. And
(00:59):
to be a part of it today, to watch the certification,
to watch Kamala Harris have to certify, I'm sorry, I'm laughing,
but to have to have to watch her certified Trump
as the winner of the election three hundred and twelve
electoral votes and then the entire GOP erupts, which.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
That was that was huge, But I mean we all
and a shout out to JD. I mean we all,
the whole High delegation stood up. We some of us
gave a oh shout out. I don't know how many
people pick that up, but yeah, to see the Vice
President standing up there and announcing the next President of
the United States is Donald J. Trump is phenomenal.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
So what it is is like, as you're looking and
watching all of it, the way the whole thing officially goes.
This first one I've ever actually witnessed. I know it's televised, right,
I mean, but this is the first time I've ever
actually even paid attention to it. I'm maybe it's bad
that I haven't really watched it ever before. But four
years ago, clearly on this date, Jay six, was when
(02:01):
all the melee occurred, some some bad actors and so on.
We've all well, we've all been over that. But man,
the security was more than I even thought. I mean,
it was crazy getting here to you today and just
you know, giving all of the snow and everything else,
it has been an absolutely amazing day.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
Man.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
I can't thank you enough.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Oh well, it's great to have you Blazer. Yeah. The
security obviously, you know, with with what took place four
years ago. Now it's really quiet around here, so we
have a lot of we'd probably have more security than needed,
but you know, it's a nice precaution obviously with the
snowstorm coming in.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
You know, it was kind of fun that it was
adventure this morning trying to get you across the as
I should say, the border to get you inside the
capitol here, but it all worked out. And grateful that
you were here and able to do it.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Man, this is Yeah, this is clearly an event of
a lifetime for me, a bucket list and I was
beside myself when you ask me, hey, would you want
to come and watch the certification? But to be a
part of history like this, especially given forty seven coming
in in just a few days, you know, fourteen days
or now. Can't get here fast enough, but to be
(03:14):
a part of this whole process and watch it all
play out, and then our very own jd Vance of
course from Ohio and him being vice friend, it's extra
special everything that's going on for us, proud conservative Ohio
wins man.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
It is and from where you were sitting, you could
see JD two and he was in front of me,
and just to see his expressions and everyone just talking
to him as his name was being spoken out, you
know that he had won the electoral College votes for that,
it was pretty special. And to see you know, our
(03:47):
newest Senator Bernie Marinos standing up to and Bernie was
on the same row as JD. Was so pretty cool.
To have the High delegation all right there front and
center in a big special day. For sure.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Yeah, this has been This has absolutely amazing. The whole
thing took around thirty five minutes. So I remember when
we were talking about it, you know when I first
you started bringing up, Hey, do you want to come
and check this out? I was like, so when does
it to You go, well, it'll get underweight. Well you
were like, well hang on, you're like yelling in the
other room. Your staff, They're like one o'clock. It could
(04:19):
take two hours unless it gets really tricky and people start,
you know, protesting.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
Or I don't know if that's the word objecting.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
Objecting, Yeah, if they start objecting to some of the certification,
then clearly it could go on for hours or what
have you, But yeah, the whole thing took around thirty
five minutes, a lot quicker than I thought. But then
this morning you said, well, this is going to be
a fast one.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Today it was, and you could see it kind of
play out. Look, President Trump won overwhelmingly. I think, you know,
if the Electrical College votes might have been closer, who knows,
but we're not going to speculate on that. He got
three hundred and twelve. It was a unanimous decision to
have Donald J. Trump as our next president. I dates
and this morning, the conversations, you know, early when we
(05:04):
were getting together with some other members was that, hey,
be ready, because it's gonna be pretty quick. The Democrats
are just kind of doing their thing and doing what
they're supposed to do, and this should go pretty smooth.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
So we finish up, we're out in the halls and
we're getting ready to find the We're headed toward the elevator,
and you know, Marjorie Taylor Green stand out in the hall.
She's kind of holding she's kind of holding courts some people.
It looks like media was sitting there talking to her.
She had her big bright maga hat on make America
great again. So then we go over and we're at
(05:35):
the elevator and Lauren Bobert, Representative Bobert from Colorado. So
she's like with us, and we know there's yeah, there's
been some things in the news about her and so on.
Then I am two for two. When I am in
the Capitol, Nancy Pelosi on her walker, former Speaker Nancy
Pelosi comes, you know, shuffling up on her walker, and
(05:59):
then you know, Steady Standy Hoyer Steny Hoyer actually says, hey,
can we we let speaker onto the elevator. So she
got she did get in front of us, she did
ditch us, but I suppose, I don't know, that's the
least we can.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
Do for her. It was a hard day today for her.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
It really was. So I was like, all right, we'll
let her get on. But how was it, Troy that
two for two. Both times I've been inside the Capitol building,
she's behind us in the one time she goes walking by,
that was when she was still speaker.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
This she was still speaker. Then when we were walking
by and she had that entrage. I mean, you can't
make this stuff up. I mean it was hilarious. And
as you said, she was too art. She was behind us,
so we didn't know she was even standing back there.
And Stenny Hoyer said, gentlemen, would you would you mind
letting them? Can the speaker get on for I'd like
speaker words Mike Johnson. I turned her around right and
(06:54):
there's a speaker, Pelosi with her her walker, and she
went right on. So it was good, so so cool.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
What an amazing experience in Congressman Troy Balderson. I can't
thank you enough for making it happen. And it's a
very special thing. What a special place, the Capital, and
to be inside the House Chamber, incredibly incredibly special, and
to witness the certification of the election, and now forty
seven set to go. It's official, and all we got
(07:23):
left is the inauguration. So we're fourteen days from that
baby thing.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
He will be here in the Washington the Capitals where
they played about hint is Capital Arena. He's on a
rally there the night before the inauguration. If that's out
there yet, yeah, but anyway, so twenty thousand seed arena,
I can sit here and guarantee you that it will
be full.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
Oh yeah, there won't be one empty seat obviously in
that place Troy, I can't thank you enough once again
and appreciate it on behalf of the Mark Blazer Show.
Thanks man for making me a part of this and
enjoying a very special event, special day.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
Hey, thank you Blazer. You're a great American
