This is Big Brother, I spy with my little eyes.
More shocks, more strategy, more.
Drama. That's right.
The House is ready. The nation is ready.
The question is, Are you ready? Ready, Big Brother?
Excited. Thank you.
AJ and Will the game is changing.
(00:57):
Big Brother is here to play. Big Brother.
Coming soon on ITV. Two and ITV X.
Hello and welcome to this week'sAFC Dons cast on Sunday the 21st
of September. It's great here, thanks for
joining me once again. The Dons faced a crucial 90
minutes up at Audrey on Saturdayafternoon, a game that could go
a long way to defining our season.
After a frustrating goalless draw with Livingston last
(01:20):
weekend left us rooted to the foot of the Premiership table,
there's a real pressure to turn chances into goals and results.
The fans have had their say on team selection and tactics, with
plenty of debate around midfieldchoices and yeah, Battalions
approach. Now with Maddywell the visitors,
the Dons will be desperate for aspark to kick start our campaign
and book a return to Hampden. Ahead of the match, the manager
spoke to Red TV. Jimmy, quarter final action
(01:43):
today against Motherwell. How are the preparations been
for this one? It's been good.
I think we're taking small stepsall the time now and it's for
everything. Come closer, closer for a win
and it's of course now it's a cup game.
It's important for us to come toHampden again and Motherwell
have done well, laughing again. It's a good coach and done well.
I would want to play, it's really clear, but I also think
we feel prepared today and do a really good for the tour now.
(02:06):
Yeah Aberdeen been strong in thecups of late.
Obviously Scottish Cup win last season was incredible and and
reached the semi final of this competition last season put 3
pass more and in the last round.Does that give you confidence
coming into this one? I think you always will focus on
The thing is how always how you act when the when the result on
coming. You have to focus on the right
things and do your job every dayand try to be better.
(02:27):
It'll be better every week and every training and I think the
team is coming closer. I think we did OK performance
last game against Livingstone and now it's not opponent of
course, but I think we are doingour things better and better, so
we have a strong belief in this game today.
Looking at the team news, StuartArmstrong comes in, just the one
change from last week. What was your thinking behind
that? He seemed to do well off the
(02:48):
bench against Livingstone. I think he's gonna help us in
the our build up and his way to combine between the lines and
bringing carrying the ball closeto the penalty box.
And you mentioned Yen, so obviously Motherwell earned
plenty of praise this season fortheir style, love, play.
You know from your time in Sweden what you expecting from
from Motherwell today. No, but they play like this
(03:10):
4222, like really narrow and fine combinations.
So we have to be really compact when we defend but also be brave
when we have the ball and play our game and we have the ball.
We play at home today and I think we are starting creating
more and more chances now. Hopefully we can get the
chances, creating goals for the chances also.
Perfect. Good luck today.
Thank you so much. Thank you.
(03:31):
Aberdeen's struggles in front ofgoal continued at Betaudry as
the Dons crashed out to the Scottish League cap with a
narrow one nil defeat to Maderwell.
Yamatili made just one change from the side that drew nil nil
with Livingston last weekend, Stewart Armstrong coming in for
Seibert, Hilton and Nielsen. Nikki Devlin returned to the
bench after suspension while newarrival Nicholas Milanovic was
also among the SABS. It was a bright opening from the
(03:52):
visitors, but we soon settled and began to pose a threat.
Yes, for Carlson and Adeila Shish were at the heart of the
early chances, with Kevin Nesbitt just unable to get on
the end of a dangerous Carlson cross.
Carlson himself went close minutes later, fighting into the
side knitting. The Dons came agonisingly close
to breaking the deadlock midway through the half.
Tawanda Maswanhisi hit the boastfor Maddowell before Aberdeen
(04:14):
responded with Matt's canooster smashing the crossfire from
close range. The Matar Mitov was called into
action just before the break, making a crucial save to deny
Charles Cook as the sides went in level.
At half time into the second-half, Aberdeen introduced
Palaversa, Clarkson and Devlin, with the latter taking the
captain's armband. But just as the changes, we're
bedding in Maniwell Strack from a free kick Charles Cook cat
(04:36):
inside. They unleashed a strike from 20
yards that clipped the fire poston its way in to give the
visitors the lead. The Dons pushed hard for an
equaliser late on and thought they had it when Devlin rose to
meet Carlson's corner in the 88th minute as header beat the
keeper but not the woodwork, thecrossbar denying Aberdeen for a
second time in the game. Might as well had chances to
kill it off but one goal was enough to send them into the
(04:58):
semi finals. But Aberdeen's cap campaign ends
in disappointment. Jimmy, another frustrating day
for you today out of the League Cup.
What's your reflection on the game?
I think if we talk about it and in the, in the squad now and the
staff and first of all, we, we get the response we deserve
(05:18):
today that fans were not happy. And the first thing we can do
now is to look yourself in the mirror.
We as a manager must have the players because what we're
showing out there right now is is not good enough.
And what I mean by that is not about the system or the, the
tactical intention is more aboutthis ABC in football, how you
(05:40):
compete, how you the 5050 duels, how you sacrifice yourself in
some situations, how you run together and we get the ball
helping each other. These basics things right now is
the difference between between 0points or a win and there we
(06:04):
right now in this that it's the way we have lost this game.
That's just the frustration partwas just the the basic
fundamentals in the football team.
How do you change that? That's what I said, like we, we
can't wait for anything right now.
We have to go home and watch theMirror and tomorrow when we
arrive and then show on Tuesday already.
(06:24):
And the fans, when you play for romance, for a club like this,
with so much expectations, you will, you have to feel to show
them the effort you're doing is always top.
Sometimes you can lose a game, but they feel they give
everything. You are passionate, you're
(06:46):
running together, you take the duels, you sacrifice inside the
box, how you cope on the pressure when you run down, how
you push in the last 50 minutes to try to get a win.
And right now we haven't done enough there.
So this is the first point. Like it's not so complicated,
but. It it.
(07:09):
Demands some courage and you have a strong belief that you
can turn this around. If you doubt, you shouldn't be
here. But if you have really, really
strong belief you can turn this around, then you have to show up
tomorrow and show everything on Tuesday.
Yeah, you're obviously very disappointed with the
performance, but do you feel a bit hard done by in terms of
hitting the bar at one end and then hitting the bar at the
other, perhaps lock, maybe not on your side?
(07:31):
No, I think we have some situation against Livingston
also, but for me the performanceover 90 minutes are not good
enough. Of course we can hope for some
ball going and then everything change and self-confidence.
But for me, it's always thought that it's ABC how what you're
showing on the pitch, the responsibility and then you
usually get what you deserve in the long term.
(07:52):
Then the the, the team is more timing in the team.
Everything is start, get the rhythm in because you always saw
much high effort and concentration on the game you
have in front of you right now and don't hoping for something
or or be unlucky. Unlucky for me is this push.
We, we, we, I, I, we feel we don't do it right now as a team
(08:15):
and, and the team is a lot of individuals.
So everybody has to go home now and as an individual watch
himself in the mirror, starting with me and then go show
different things on on Tuesday. Yeah, a game quickly around the
corner Tuesday night. Chance to get back into training
tomorrow and put it right quickly with a game so soon.
(08:37):
We have to show our fans on Tuesday that we are in for the
game 100% in everything we do onthe pitch.
Perfect, Jimmy. Thank you.
Thank you. That post match interviewed
sparked a wave of reaction from supporters online.
Many fans voiced frustration, saying the same old drivel and
accusing the club of repeating excuses.
Sam took a sharper tone, suggesting management should buy
(08:57):
a one way ticket to Sweden, while others mocked recent
tactical talk, saying bluntly it's not about the system.
There was also humour amid the criticism, with Wan fan joking
about former boss Stevie Patterson being smuggled back
into Port Audrey. But the overall mood in the
comments reflected growing cynicism among the sections of
the support who remain unconvinced by the club's
current direction. Casual live audio and video of

There's a hostage situation. Russian sleeper agents.

permanent successor. Chairman Dave Cormack praised

Stewart Armstrong says the chance to play in Europe forced
him to fast track his move to Aberdeen.
The Scotland midfielder signed A2 year deal just before the
UEFA deadline, making his debut in the draw with Livingston and
pushing for a place in Saturday's league cap quarter
final against Motherwell. It's a full circle moment for
(13:20):
Armstrong, who was rejected by the Dons as a 13 year old after
six trial games. Now 2 decades on, he returns
with league titles, cap medals and over 150 Premier League
appearances to his name. The former Celtic and

summer and says he's ready to chase more silverware, finally
fulfilling A childhood dream of pitaudry.

Maya Christie's cross almost resulted in an own goal, only
for Fife to intervene sharply. Rangers began to grow into the

remained goalless at the break. After the restart, Rangers came
flying out of the traps. Lizzie Arnott struck the post

after the hour when Arnott foundKatie Wilkinson in the box and

with defeat to Mariwell and Jimmy Thalin didn't pull any
punches afterwards. He said the problem isn't
tactics or formations, it's the basics.
Winning 5050, showing passion, taking responsibility.
And honestly, he's spot on. You can't talk about systems if
you don't win your battles on the pitch.
The fans who booed at full time have every right to feel
(21:45):
frustrated, and Helene admitted that.
But what I liked was his demand for change now, not next week,
not after another loss. He wants that mindset shift from
the very next training session. I do believe it can be turned
around with a big clap with enough quality to compete, but
the players need to look in the mirror and remember the
fundamentals, effort, responsibility and playing for
(22:05):
each other. Do that and the results will
come. Until then, the Capexa is a
harsh but fair reminder of wherewe are.
