The Dons were riding a sixth match on beaten streak in the
league including a recent one nil victory over Hibs last
weekend. Going into the match against St
Marin yesterday we have the pre and post match reaction coming
up with Yummy Tilene. 2 matches for Aberdeen Women this week are
encountered against the Spartansmidweek and today's home game
against Partick Thistle. Plus more from the player of the
UN Awards, some injury updates, a Scottish cap final ticket news

(00:23):
and of course a roundup from therest of the matches in the SPFL.

(01:02):
It's great Mackay here with the AFC DOS cast on Sunday the 4th
of May. It's crunch time in the Scottish
Premiership as Aberdeen travelled to Paisley to take on
Saint Mirren in the high stakes class.
With European football on the line, the Dogs were logged level
on points with 3rd place Hibs and with just four games
remaining, every point counts inthe race for that all important
third spot. Ahead to the match here,
Mateeline spoke about meeting supporters at the Player of the

(01:24):
Year night and building on an important relationship with the
Dead Army. Yeah, yeah, I think it was.
I think it's always good to havethis, how can I say platforms
wherever you can interact with everyone.
So you and also for the players to see what you're playing for
and build on this relation. It's a really important relation

(01:47):
you have with your supporters and fans.
And because we belongs to Aberdeen Football Club, we
working for the for this club and and for the people around
it. So we have to be aware and take
responsibility. But the only thing we can
promise is always to give everything we can.
We can, we can't promise results, but we can promise this
one. And then it's good to meet in

(02:08):
these people and, and then you feel how strong this relation or
and, and, and the belief and, and how everybody pushing for us
to get better and better. A frustrating afternoon for
Aberdeen as we fell to Addado, one nil defeat against St Vernon
and Paisley. A much short on chances but not

(02:28):
without controversy. We thought we'd taken the lead
midway through the first half when the EPI Ockels fired home
from close range, but VAR ruled the goal out for after the ball
brushed Kevin Nesbitt's hand in the build up.
Earlier Aberdeen had enjoyed a bright start, forcing a flurry
of corners and testing the SaintMirren defence, but after the
Dissolite goal the side struggled to recapture our early
attacking momentum. Mirren, who had drawn 2 all with

(02:51):
Rangers the previous weekend, made the breakthrough just after
the hour mark after the kick launched into the box found
Mikkel Mandron who controlled iton his chest and volleyed in
with impressive technique, the goal confirmed after a second
VAR review. Despite late chances and a push
from Aberdeen, including substitute Papagi trying to
carve out an opening in the final minutes, the visitors
couldn't find a way past a resolute St Miriam backline.

(03:14):
There was still time for Demetermetoff to pull off a
superb stoppage time save but the Dons returned N empty
handed. Jimmy frustrating day.
Yeah, it was a difficult game and of course I don't think we
were not good enough today to decide to win.
Maybe not either bad enough to lose, but there was this game.
Someone has to do something extra or I said play can be the

(03:37):
winning goal. I think his Admiral did a lot of
things well, but also we arrivedto some areas inside the box,
but then the LastPass, the timing inside the box was not
really there today. Then it's difficult because to
defend well and we need to be really clear in this moment.
So we need to improve in the away games to to do more to

(03:58):
decide to win this games. By the end of the game, use lots
of strikers on the pitch, but maybe the Saint Mirren
goalkeeper didn't have enough todo in the in the in the whole
game. No, we didn't arrive in the in
the way we wanted in the crosses.
We arrived sometimes in the in the half space runs and the
LastPass. But today it was not really

(04:19):
there for us. And they also defend some areas
good. And that's what we need to
improve the, the way we attack sometimes.
But it's it's also we have done a lot of things really good now
for the more or less the last month.
And it's a difficult away game. But I think like today maybe we

(04:39):
have to be an extra push. But we didn't have it today,
really. How did you feel about the the
goal that wasn't given in the first half for Yuppie?
No, the the referee checked it and what can you say?
They have an opportunity to check it again and with the war
and then they disallow it. It was a good 1st 20 minutes for
Aberdeen, dominating the game atthat stage, but maybe from from

(05:02):
there on not enough. No, as I said, I mean I don't
think we did enough enough to win to deserve to win this game.
And I don't think everything wassuper bad.
But they are difficult to play against and but we need to do
some part of the better and be more.
We know it's going to be tight game, games against Amir and
away and so, but they score on the set play and they win.

(05:27):
And really disappointing off theback of all the good work done
last weekend against Hibs and now the the three-point gap
opens up again. It is, but there's still three
more games to play and we have to take the challenge and and
believe in this now and focus onthe next game and try to do
better, a better away game and try to get the three points.
Great support today, Jimmy. It's super good again and

(05:49):
that's, that's what we need. And it's it's not over until
it's over. So we have to keep fighting now
and keep this togetherness to the last game of the season.
And we are so thankful they're travelling and after the after
the game gave energy to players in a, in a challenging time
after a tough result. But it was a tight game and they
were here to push us and now we have to reload for the next

(06:11):
game. Thanks, Jimmy.
Thank you. Thank you.

the last 20 years my best friendCharlie Berman and I have
travelled to some of the farthest corners of the world.
Yet we've never properly explored the countries on our

playground. And we're doing the journey on
vintage temperamental 50 year old bikes.
I just love them to death. Shouldn't say that motorbikes
are dangerous enough as it is, you know what I mean?
It's great to be back on the road again.

Are you OK? No.
I'm good. I'm good, man.
Had a little crash. I just lost control.
We're going to find some metal worker who can fix my bike.

Friday on Apple TV Plus Aberdeenwomen were forced to settle for
a point after A1 all draw with the Spartans in Edinburgh

(11:50):
through the week. The Dons took the lead midway
through the first half at Ainsley Park when Hannah Stewart
pounced on a loose ball in the box.
Although her first shot was saved, she made no mistake with
the rebound from smashing it high into the net.
Despite a few more first half chances we couldn't add to our
lead and the Spartans grew into the game after the break.
A long throw in eventually led to the equaliser just after the

(12:11):
hour mark. Bates broke quickly from a Don's
corner and squared the ball to Rennie who shot crept in despite
attached from Aberdeen keeper Annalisa McCann.
The home side pressed for a winner later on but the Don's
defence stood firm with Chase Brodrick making a crucial block
in stoppage time to preserve thedraw.
The final score at Easley Park was the Spartans 1 Aberdeen win
and then we're back to winning ways in SWPL one after a strong

(12:34):
two nil victory over Partick Thistle at the Bomodel Stadium
this afternoon. The Dons, looking to bounce back
after the midweek draw with Spartans, started fast, Hannah
Stewart opening the scoring just4 minutes in, capping a slick
attacking move that began with aMahdi Finney intersection and a
smart cutback from Francesco Ogilvy.
Thistle, despite being on a four-game winning streak,
struggled to breakthrough Aberdeen's disciplined backline.

(12:56):
Amy Bullock returned from an early injury scare and the
visitors had chances, most notably through Faulkner and
Birchall, but the Dawn's defence, led by Broderick Mendes
and a standout recovery tackle from Finnegan, held firm.
After weathering second-half pressure, including a handball
booking for Ferry, Aberdeen found a second wind in the 88th
minute, a breakaway led by BT and Miller, so substitute Bailey

I know. My father's response to this

support of local initiatives In the development ranks, Dylan

after an impressive loan spell at Cove Rangers.
Rising stars Amy Black and Toby Keskinen took home the Yang

respectively, both players enjoying breakthrough seasons.
Kevin Nesbitt, on loan from Millwell, was voted Player's
Player of the Year, while Eva Thompson scooped the same honour
for the women's team. There were stunning strikes to

(17:04):
celebrate as well. Chloe Gover claimed women's goal
of the season for her long rangefree kick against Montrose and
Ester Sockler's overhead kick versus Hibs earned him the men's
goal of the season and in the top categories, Francesca Ogilvy
was crowned Women's Player of the Year, her second time
receiving the honour. Play the year.
No bad at all. Well done.
Thank you very much. How does it feel?

(17:26):
Ask for words. Honestly just a massive thank
you to the fans that have voted and I honestly cannot believe
that it's me with this trophy. It's been quite the season.
It's been a wild roller coaster so far.
Just a nice reward for you. Yeah, I think the girls have
been through a lot this season, not only with the change in
management but also having to deal with gelling differently as

(17:49):
well. Scott's brought in a lot of new
players and we seem to have credit to the girls.
We have gelled very well and we seem to be on a bit of an up at
the moment getting results that we want to be getting.
Obviously Hampden was a bit of aa dampener but it was a a great
occasion and it was credit to how we've been playing recently
and how we want to play. And a two time winner as well

(18:09):
just gets better and better. I don't know what the response
to that, Logan. Job's not finished off a couple
of big games before we can. We can totally be happy yet.
Yeah, yeah. We, we know we're not safe
mathematically yet as much as wewould like to be.
We've got 4 very, very big gamescoming up and and it starts on
Sunday. Hold on.

(18:30):
Again, thank. You very.
Much. Thanks Brandon.
Cheers and shaded Morris. Shitty MO was named Men's Player
of the year after a standout season of goals and assists.
Shaded Morris AFC 2425 Player ofthe Year How does it feel?
Honestly, it's a it's a emotional feeling right now.
It's a lot to take in, but I'm really proud of of the

(18:52):
achievement, proud of myself, proud of proud of my family, my
team for helping me to get to this point.
Of course my belief in God is very strong and it helped me get
to this point, but honestly, thefeeling to actually be announced
to play of the year is just honestly, I'm real.
Your mum was here tonight and sowas your best friend.
We saw it's very emotional, means a lot to to you and to

(19:14):
your whole family as well. Yeah, to be fair, there was a
lot of emotions, especially off camera, because they were there
for me last season, end of last season.
And honestly, the IT looked really dark for me in the in the
tunnel. It looked really dark for me.
So they they, they just gave me a lot of confidence, a lot of
belief, told me to believe in God, believe in your close
people who do have belief in youand spoke to people like Shiny

(19:36):
Nikki. Devin told me to believe in
myself. And I kind of just thought, you
know what, I'm going to give it everything next season.
And then I'm here and I'm at this stage where I've just won
the player of the year. So it's really, it's really
emotional, but I'm just really proud that I can do this.
And it's just an achievement andit's just a a testimony to show
people like just believe in yourself.
Anything's possible. And we heard, we heard the fans

(19:58):
out there, we heard the reception that we get that you
got sorry, we hear the receptionthat you get on a Saturday at
Pittodrie. They sing your song.
It must mean so much to have that connection with them.
No, honestly, the fans have honestly changed my changed my
career at this club. To be fair, I couldn't have done
it without them. Them pushing me, them singing my
song. I honestly love the song, to be
fair. But yeah, them singing that

(20:19):
giving me that, that confidence, that belief that I can, I can
achieve things, that I'm a good player.
So I just, I just love the support I've had this season and
I just want to thank them, thankmy team, thank the the coaching
staff and thank my family behindme for this amazing achievement.
And can you give us a little rendition of the song?

(20:41):
Thank you. Thank you.
I've got an injury update that could have big implications for
the final weeks of the season and that Scottish cap showdown
at Hampden has confirmed that midfielder Seibert Hilton and
Nielsen is out for the rest of the season.
The 33 year old Norwegian has been recovering from an eye
injury picked up during trainingtwo months ago and despite his
determination to return the timeline, chess isn't on his

(21:04):
side. It's a huge blow.
Since signing from SK Bran last summer, Hilton and Nielsen has
been a key figure in Telene's side, offering experience,
composure and leadership from the heart of midfield.
You'll now miss the decisive push for 3rd place in the league
and crucially, the Scottish cap final against Celtic on
Saturday, May the 24th. That said, there's a bit of hope
looking ahead. Telene's optimistic cyber will
be fit in time for pre season after the summer break.

(21:27):
And there's more. Telene granted Hilton and
Nielsen permission to return to Norway for part of his recovery,
but the midfielder is now back in the Granite City.
He's eager to trade, but not quite cleared to join full
sessions yet. In more positive news, there's a
boost in defence customers Tobers.
The 600,000 LB January training from Grasshoppers, is stepping
up his comeback from a hamstringinjury.

(21:47):
Tobers, who hasn't played since the two all draw with Dundee
United back on March the 2nd, isnow training fully with the
squad. Emma Telene is gearing up for a
major assessment of his debut campaign with the aim of pushing
the team to even greater heightsnext season.
We're currently locked in a fierce battle to finish third in
the Premiership and have also secured a place in the Scottish
cap final. Telene is fully focused on

(22:08):
achieving European qualificationand lifting the Scottish cap for
the first time since 1990. However, despite these
impressive achievements, the Swede is determined not to
settle for just a third place finish and potential silverware.
He plans to continue pushing theteam towards a higher level and
that will include a focus on transfer business during the
summer. The Dons have already made a
move, agreeing to ideal to sign Australian winger Nicholas

(22:30):
Milanovic from Western Sydney Wanderers for a fee of around
£400,000. The 23 year old will join
Aberdeen in the summer, marking an early step in Teled's plans
to bolster the squad. We secured a bumper ticket
allocation of more than 20,000 for next month's Scottish Cup
final, this month's Scottish Cupfinals against Celtic at
Hampden. It's the largest number of

(22:50):
tickets the club has received for the final in recent years
and it was only made possible after the club agreed to
underwrite the cost of any and sold seats after lengthy
discussions. Aberdeen were initially offered
just under 17,000 tickets, with a possible 2000 more, but driven
by belief in the Red Army's backing, the club pushed for
much larger share, securing the entire N stand up to the

(23:11):
halfway. This historic match on Saturday
the 24th of May will be Aberdeen's first Scottish cap
final since 2017 and demand is expected to match the 2023
league cap final, which sold outin hours.
Tickets go on sale from Monday with a phased release based on
priority points. Prices have been frozen from
last year, with adult tickets starting at 40 LB and

(23:32):
concessions from 25 LB. All tickets will be issued
digitally via the Hampden Park app.
Supporters are being urged to act fast, get organised and help
make history. The Dons chase our first
Scottish cat triumph since 1990.The Ultras Aberdeen Group have
hit their 10,000 LB fundraising target for a spectacular
Scottish cat final display. After a month of generous

(23:54):
donations from farms and club figures alike, the Farm group is
ready to deliver what they've promised to be the best display
ever. All in the hopes of motivating
Yummy to lean side to victory against Celtic in the upcoming
final. The fundraising campaign kicked
off last month following our thrilling extra time win over
Hearts. The Dons fans came together
launching a Go Fund Me page for the goal to create an

(24:14):
unforgettable atmosphere at Hampton Park and what an impact
the supporters have made. Ultras Aberdeen were determined
to make the display one for the history Brooks and they've
certainly gone above and beyond in securing the fans.
The campaign received a huge boost when Aberdeen chairman
Dave Cormac and the club's chiefexec Alan Barrows followed suit
with generous donations. The total donations have now

(24:35):
pushed the fundraiser past its 10,000 target thanks to the
incredible support of fans and other backers.
Now, while the primary goal is the Hamden display, any
additional fans will be saved and used for future fund
displays at Pataudry and shooting.
The atmosphere stays electric for years to come and this week
we pay tribute to a proud son ofAberdeen and a true servant of

(24:59):
the club, former defender Doug Kootz, who sadly passed away on
Friday the 25th of April aged 83.
Born in Aberdeen in 1942, Dagg played over 120 times for the
Dawns during the early 1960s, combining his part time football
career with a role in the civil service.
A proud local lad, he once played schoolboy football
alongside Dennis Law and earned a Scotland cap at youth level.

(25:21):
Known for his commanding presence in defence, Dagg was
part of a team rebuilding after the club's post war successes
and went on to feature one of Scottish football's most famous
cap absence, Berwick Rangers victory over Glasgow Rangers in
1967. Doug Coots was more than just a
player, he was alleged to a different era of football when
passion played and community where what bound a club to its

(25:41):
players. The humble professional who
never forgot where he came from.We sent our heartfelt
condolences to Doug's wife Jean, daughters Valerie and Diane and
all we knew them. Doug Coots, Aberdeen Ladd Don's
defender, A name forever part ofour club's plight history.
