our midweek match against Celticand our trip to Tanadish
yesterday, including reaction tothe incident involving Jack
McKenzie following the match. The Dawn's women went away to
Queen's Park for their final match of the season earlier
today. More than that coming up.
Plus some transfer news, a flanny of Dawn's news and some
supporters news on the AFC Dawn's cast.

(01:09):
Warm up for the biggest reunion of all time, non-stop.
Supersonic anthems are playing now.
On Radio X Oasis. Curated shows, live tracks, B
sides and rare archive recordings.
On your radio? On Global.
Player. And on your smart speaker crazy

(01:32):
OX. Oasis It's Kareem Mackay here
with the AFC Dodge cast on Sunday the 18th of May.
Today we've got a packed episodediving into a massive week for
the Dons as Aberdeen faced 2 high stakes clashes in three
days. First App It was our final home
match of the season against Celtic.
Post the Rangers match the previous Sunday we were hoping
for something more from the gameagainst Celtic.
Yamatoly provided his pre match thoughts ahead of the match.

(01:55):
Be a nice night for a game, and it's a big game.
It's a big game and it's Pitt, Audrey, beautiful weather and
the team is ready so and we knowhow our fans always give us the
support so we look forward to the game.
And I must win game if you're tofinish third.
Yeah, it is. And that's that's one way good

(02:17):
and easy to have the terminationto this, no other direction.
So I think it's I think the performance will be good today.
I think the players, they have agood days after the Rangers game
and they feel really ready and it's a good goal inside the
team. And has the performance against
Rangers and the problems in thatgame and players playing
individually and not as a collective as has all been

(02:40):
sorted out? Yeah, I think that football is
you always have a plan and sometimes you have done a lot of
good games also. And sometimes, and this can
happen inside a game, sometimes difficult to understand exactly
why. But we are in this together, me,
myself, my, my staff, the players and we talk about how we

(03:01):
can do better and grow together. So I hope we can do better today
on the pitch 6. Changes.
Is that back to just about your strongest starting 11?
You always try to put the strongest for the game you have
ahead of us and it's always different reason and but
everybody's is ready and everybody's ready to go.
Good luck to you. Thank you so much.

(03:22):
All the best. So in our final home game of the
season, Aberdeen were swept aside by a ruthless Celtic side.
We netted three goals in 9 minutes either side of halftime
to claim a 51V at Bataudry on Wednesday night.
Both teams created chances but Celtic were clinical.
Aberdeen were not following our four nil defeat to rang the

(03:42):
changes with six fresh faces in the starting 11.
Celtic also rotated heavily, making eight changes after their
win over Hibs. Aberdeen fought hard and
equalised through Kevin Nesbitt after Mike Navroski opener but
Yang restored Celtic's lead in afirst half stoppage time.
Just moments into the second-half.
Luke Mackowen added a third before Johnny Kenny made it 4.

(04:02):
Despite some spirited attacks from the Dawns and excellencies
from Dimitar Mitov, Celtic sealed the win in a stoppage
time through Adam Ida. There was late drama as both
sides ended the match with 10 men, Alfie Dorrington sent off
for Aberdeen and Rio Hatati forced off injured.
The final score at Pataudry. Aberdeen won Celtic 5.
Jimmy, what are your thoughts after that one?

(04:24):
Of course it's what's difficult to lose 5-1 at home at Pataudry.
We talked with the players, witheach other in the after game
management team and we of coursewe know it's not acceptable to
do, even if Celtic was really sharp and good when they arrive
to the hour box. But it's something we have to

(04:45):
not not to happen again in the future and we need to work
really hard now in the summer and prepare ourselves to be
better in these kind of games. And the fans push us.
And even after the game they they were here and and try to
give some enough for the important game on Saturday and
then the United. So that's what I thought.
This had to be enough. It was a short period, wasn't

(05:07):
it, after half time where they scored two goals pretty quickly
and it suddenly becomes 41 and it becomes almost impossible.
Yeah, and it was important for us to try to stay in a game and
but we tried, but today it was not enough and we're missing
some kind of energy today. But we have to do the cover now.

(05:31):
And it's going to be a differentchannel game, still a good team,
the United, but it's going to bea different channel way or game.
So we have to be prepared for that to try to catch the.
We can't reach the 3rd place anymore, so we have to go for
the 4th place. Yeah, there's still plenty to be
played for at Anna Dyce. It is.
And that's why our focus should be now.
Now this, the third try to catchthe 3rd place is gone.

(05:54):
We have to have to try to get ina better position for Europe for
for next season. How worrying is four goals
conceded at Ibrox and then five again tonight of.
Course it's not good for anyone to get nine goals against you in
in in one week and two games of close up after each other.
But it's going to be a differentkind of game on Saturday and

(06:16):
we're going to be happy to find solution and that's my job to
find, try to find the solutions to to help the players to
achieve a good performance against on United.
It's obviously disappointing that third place has gone
because that was the, that was the target, I guess.
It was, it was ambition we had before the the season starts but

(06:37):
we are still there and a lot of good things and now we can catch
Europe in the 4th place and try to arrive there.
So we have to go for this one and then we have one week to to
find a way to get a good result in the final.
Thanks, Jimmy. Thank you.

(06:59):
Look at all those famous faces, smiling, popular, talented.
Clever, respected all. Hoping that we'll play nicely.
Because they're celebrities, they couldn't.
Be more. Wrong.

(07:21):
Celebrity traitors this autumn on BBC One Scotland and iPlayer.
We were back in action yesterdayas we travelled to Tanadice to
face Dandy United in our final Premiership match of the season.
It's a quick turn around for theDons, who were still reeling
from our defeat to Celtic. That result brought our recent
struggles into focus, with the Amitalin desperate to finish a

(07:44):
turbulent campaign on a high. Here he is prior to the match.
No, I think like we are aware that right now the every game is
A1 game. Football is football.
Everything can happen. But we have struggled some games
this year when we're trying to be better the way we want to

(08:04):
play. We can't forget the way we play.
Have take us to this ghost, liketo Europe, the final, the semi
final, but the NBN exposed sometimes in some games when the
opponents are really, really skillful and and that's OK.
How can we use this information and to try to be better and next
season and and also for the final, What can we learn?

(08:26):
And now we have to do even better for in the final to give
us a chance to win the final. And you can never give up.
You have to believe, but also stay in the reality a little
bit. Where are we and what where
we're coming from and what do weneed to progress for the next
coming two years and how to be even better?
We slipped a fifth in the Scottish Premiership after

(08:47):
dramatic turn around at Tannadice where we were beaten 2
and by Dundee United. The Dons dominated the first
half and deservedly took the lead on 15 minutes through Yeppy
Ocles scoring his first goal forthe club after a well worked
move involving Alexander Jensen and Kevin Nesbitt.
Aberdeen could have added more before the break, with McGraw
rattling the bar and Richard's producing a standing save to
deny Papa Gay early on. But the game was turned on its

(09:10):
head early in the second-half. United equalised on 56 minutes,
Gallagher heading home from a corner and just 5 minutes later
that buyer confirmed penalty so Dalby slot past Mithoff to make
it 21 despite late chances from Palvada A dabag A superb stop
from Richard's. In other time we couldn't find a
way back. The defeat sees Aberdeen drop
out of the top 4 on the final day of the season.

(09:32):
There was shocking behaviour at Tanadice following the match.
Jack Mackenzie was left bloodiedafter being stripped by what
appeared to be a seat reportedlythrown by one of her own
supporters. The incident occurred during a
pitch invasion by United fans celebrating their victory.
Mackenzie was in a new SAB was on the pitch when the object was
held from the section housing a restricted number of travelling
Aberdeen fans. That allocation had already been

(09:54):
limited following a previous incident where objects were
thrown at United manager Jim Goodwin.
Police and club officials are now investigating the incident,
which has been widely condemned.Clearly shaken, Yamitalein spoke
to Rob McLean following the incident.
Jimmy It's a strange feeling at the moment because we've just
seen that incident at the end ofthe match.
The first thing to see would be House Jack.

(10:16):
It's been quite badly injured and as I spoke to him right now
and it's OK, but it's still the total acceptable that's happened
in in this moment. We have to protect our players
and this cannot happen. It's it's just unacceptable.
He's he's badly injured. So let's see.

(10:38):
Do do you feel stunned by that, by by that, by what's happened
there? I.
Think it's really sad, you know, they're playing football.
It's a lot emotional sport today.
We don't achieve what we wanted, but still it doesn't matter.
It's still unacceptable. Unacceptable that is the player.
Get hurt. You don't play, get hurt.
Disappointing day on our football front as well.
How do you how do you analyse that game?
It looked as if the team were well in control first half.

(11:04):
We start the game well, but it doesn't matter.
It's more how how we compete through 90 minutes and and try
to win these games. It's not only this game.
We have some of these games during the season this year and
right now no one is happy. Of course it's a it's a tough,

(11:25):
tough result for us and but I think sometimes we have to zoom
out and we have making progress this year.
We are higher than last year andwe are in Europe.
We have to when it's at this moment when it's like the Hocus

(11:45):
movement like yeah, try. But this year it wasn't enough
with more. You know, we are this is our
level this season. We couldn't push for more.
We are tried, but we have to improve.
We have a big job in front of usduring the summer to prepare us
for next season to try to get better and and more consistent

(12:09):
and that's been a problem for the whole season.
That is inconsistency inside thegames.
If you think about the way we start the game today, it's how
when some moments happen, in this moment we have to be much,
much stronger and and deal with it much better.

(12:29):
They didn't need to do so much today to to win the game with
the goals. But that's everybody knows this
and we have other things we haveto improve.
It's been a job of course to analyse the season during the
season and we identify things wehave to improve for next season
and we have to see try to see the the good things in the

(12:54):
future and try to win. Then.
It's my job to be optimistic about the future and when it's
really tough times right now andand that's the most important
thing for us right now to prepare us really well and see
the the good things we can achieve in the future and how we
can prepare us and things we need to change for the the next
season. There were obviously problems

(13:15):
today at both ends of the pitch because there were chances to
add to the the first goal and then the goals given away I
guess are given away too cheaply.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. We have things we have to
improve. It's it's, it's we're doing more
or less similar things in this moment, in the inside the games

(13:35):
when we don't win the games or or the games slip away from us.
So we have a lot of work to do, but also other things to
identify. We need to AD and also please
start a bit for the next season. So there's lots to be done.
It's a disappointing feeling, obviously, maybe a shock feeling
as well at the moment because ofwhat's happened to Jack, but

(13:56):
everyone needs to lift themselves for a massive March
next weekend. Yeah, it's it's one more game
this season and and we have to try to do our best in this game
for everyone. And it's a lot to play for as a
team and as an individual to show ourselves in this in this
game and try to do the best we can now and move on.

(14:16):
And then after that one, we haveto get the players rest.
But we are the has to focus on what we have to improve in the
in the next season. Thanks, Jimmy.
Thank you. PFA Scotland chief executive
Fraser Wishart, who was at the game, said something must be
done. Concerned and I've been warning
for a long time that something like this will happen and if we

(14:39):
don't stop it, I don't get the mentality of somebody who would
throw an object of any kind at aplayer.
But it's like Groundhog Day and I've always said that somebody
gets hurt. Then we're into a different
domain because then where where somebody is a player in this
case is is is possibly going to come to us and then we're going
to have to say what do we do? It's difficult for the

(14:59):
authorities, difficult for the clubs.
I get all that. But we're we're denying that
there's an issue here. I think over the whole season
we've seen umpteen incidents andour members in danger when they
walk on the field of play. And this is after the game as
well. So I think something needs to be
done. I think there needs to be
conversations between the governing bodies, the clubs
ourselves, the managers and coaches association as well.
They try and find a way out of this because it cannot go on.

(15:22):
And I think there's the ease instance on the rise now.
It's the the culture of pitch invasions as well, something
that needs to be sort of nipped in the bud as well because
they're providing kind of flashpoint something.
Yeah. I think sadly and for the United
fans, sadly today the the players couldn't come back out.
And because of that incident with Jack, you know, and it was
Aberdeen fans that were were at fault.

(15:43):
So it is a bit of a problem. But then again, football's been
celebrating and Waters should beable to celebrate without fear
of someone being thrown at them in the weather.
The object was throwing a Jack or throwing it on the Yankee
fans. We'll find out in due course.
Hopefully whoever did it was, itwas caught by the authorities as
well. But certainly the pitch is the

(16:04):
players workplace and it would be unacceptable in any other
workplace in Scotland if an object was thrown at a worker
and they went home with stitchesin the head or damaged to the to
the head. So we need to the cold light of
day chat with Jack hopefully is OK and we'll see where we go
next week. Aberdeen released a statement on
Saturday evening that said the club is dismayed and outraged at

(16:27):
the scenes that unfolded following this afternoon's
Premiership tie with Dundee United at Tanadice Park.
Our player Jack McKenzie has sustained a serious facial
injury after being struck by a part of a chair that was thrown
towards the pitch. We await further information but
what we know for sure, the chairwas thrown from the stand in
which the Aberdeen supporters were being housed.
As such, we are calling on all fans who may have witnessed this

(16:49):
event to contact the club to provide any information that may
assist us in our investigations and wider discussions with the
relevant authorities. When the perpetrator is
identified, we'll take the strongest possible action
available to us. If you were in the area where
this suit was thrown, do the right thing and contact the club
or the police. It has no place in football
where anybody thinks it's right to throw something at a player

(17:10):
to their injury. An action must be taken by
authorities to stamp out of Scottish football.

OK, I look back at the fixtures in the SPL from midweek and at

(17:54):

to reach the Premiership playofffinal after beating Partick
Thistle 2 nil at Fairhill. Scott Pittman and Danny Wilson
got the goals for David Martindales men who are at home
in the second leg on Friday. He's fight beat Annan Athletic
32 in the first leg of the League Wham playoff final at
Bayview as the visitors ended with 9 men.

(18:16):
Andy Monroes double and Alan Trout and goal mean Dick
Campbells men hold a narrow leadwith Annan goals coming from
Michael McKenna which was a known goal and Aiden Smith.
Scott Hooper and Leighton Bisland both saw red for the
visitors. Thames finished third in the
Premiership this season after earning A2 all draw away to
Saint Mirren on Wednesday evening.
Rangers soft dandy United 31 Ibrox St.

with St. Mirren.
Martin Boyle marked his new Hibscontract with a goal and A2 all

Nicole Ruskin put Rangers ahead with Boyle drawing the host

(19:42):

third year in a row. Ross County take their survival
fight to the last possible stage, taking on Livingston over
2 legs on Thursday and Sunday following their one all draw
against Motherwell in Dingwall. Dundee will be in next season's
Scottish Premiership. Tony Docherty signed you a win
with Steel, 10th place and safety and they did that with A2

(20:03):
nil win against relegated St. Johnstone, whose top flight
status ends after 16 years. Ten man Hearts were victorious
against Kilmarnock in A1 no win at Rugby Park.
The game was most notable for the absence of Derek McInnes.
The current Killie manager seemsto be on his way to Hearts but
he wasn't in the deck out today and was replaced by Chris Burke.
And a shout out to the under 13 and under 14 Dons teams because

(20:25):
they secured a cap dabble on Saturday and Sunday in the Club
Academy Scotland cap. Well done all.
I want to make it playing and I am absolutely.
Thrilled to bits for Caleb. But he has left me just a little

(20:47):
bit in the lurch. Please come on, it's.
Freezing cold and soaking wet. Come on.
I've got to be honest, I'm having a tottering time.
While. Caleb's away.
I'm going to need a hand. You've seen Clarkson's Farm,
Yeah. Yeah.
Have you? No, I'm on.

(21:08):
Come on, you help me. She's brilliant.
Should I trim your eyebrows? Let's.
Make it with my eyebrows. Are you kidding?
That's so tiny. Watch me call us.
Richard. Ham, you know you're in the
show. Oh, brilliant idea.
Going to buy a pub. What?

(21:28):
Give me a drink. I've got to be honest.
When I first got. Round that hadn't fallen down.
The only thing that would help this shit hole is a Wrecking
Ball. So they've drilled holes from
cubicle to cubicle. I don't think that was to
improve ventilation. Yeah, it's up with the old.
Thing and then the old. Thing I'm born again, Brad.

(21:51):
Yeah. Pigs have clitorises.
I didn't know that. Jesus.
Yeah, he can't. Find it either I want to get it
open. By the August bank holiday, a
canal, the carvery, is now open.Haircut fans are dead.
No gas lunch service is a bust basically.

(22:15):
No no fuck that. Where is it going at 100?
Miles an hour, I think we get rid.
Of Harvey Swinstein. Swinstein him so the.
Scientist. It's a scientist.

(22:36):
Actor. It's a it's a scientist.
Give me. A God damn drink.
You've been at. School Haven't you been learning
how to be a. Dog, come here.
And heal. Oh no.
Clarkson Farm season 4 arrive into Prime Video this Friday.
Episodes 5:00 and 6:00 on the 30th of May and episodes 7:00

(22:58):
and 8:00 on the 6th of June. Aberdeen Women rounded off their
202425 league campaign in style, cruising to a three nil win away
at Queens Park this afternoon. It was all rocked up and Eric
Rampant first half performance, with the Dons netting all three
goals before the break. Darcy Miller was central to the

(23:19):
action, setting up the opener after 22 minutes, curling A
composed finish into the far corner after a goal mouse
scramble. Kelly Beatty doubled the lead
just 10 minutes later, hammeringhome after Miller and Cowie both
saw efforts blocked. Then a moment of magic made it
3. Eva Thompson found the net with
a stunning strike from the edge of the box, an effort crashing
off the bar and in. Queens Park tried to respond in

(23:40):
the second-half but Aberdeen stayed in control.
BT, Miller and Saab's Elder and Kraft all came close to adding a
fourth, but the damage was already done.
Final score Queens Park now Aberdeen 3A confident finish to
the season for the Don's women. OK, let's catch up with the

(24:12):
week's news then. And Aberdeen have confirmed
their first signing of the summer transfer window, with
Australian winger Nicholas Milanovic set to join the club
on a three-year deal with an option for 1/4.
The 23 year old has signed a precontract agreement with the Dons
after the club reached a fee thought to be just under
£400,000 with Western Sydney Wanderers.
Milanovic has turned heads in the A League this season,

(24:33):
scoring 12 goals and registering6 assists in that's 25 matches
and is expected to bring pace, creativity and goal threat to
Yamatili's new look side. And hot on the heels of him
signing Nicholas is set to receive his first taste of
senior national team football bybeing called into a Socceroos
training squad. Milanovic will have a chance to
impress Tony Popovich and push his claims for a maiden

(24:55):
Australia cap later this month, with the attacking midfield
expected to be part of a warm weather training camp in Abu
Dhabi later this month. In club Academy football,
Standing second-half free kick from Fraser Mackie earned
Aberdeen under 18, a well deserved one all draw away to
league champions Hibs on Friday. It was a shaky start for the
Yang Dons who fell behind insidethe first minute after a loose

(25:16):
pass allowed Hibs Dean Cleland to strike early.
Despite early pressure from the home side we gradually grew into
the match with Victor Enum and Joseph Tisdale testing the Hibs
keeper in the first half. We continue to press after the
break and the breakthrough came in the 79th minute, Fraser
Mackie stepping up to find a sensational free kick in off the
crossbar. The visitors pushed hard for
that late winner but couldn't find a way past Ryan Mallon who

(25:39):
was in top form behind the sticks for Hibs.
So it ends all squared and Trinette 10 the final score as
Aberdeen close out their season with a hard fought point and
finishing the season in 5th place in the Club Academy,
Scotland Elite and the Eighteensleague table on 48 points.
Former Aberdeen midfielder LewisFerguson says captaining Bologna
to copy Italia glory was, in hiswords, a beautiful moment.

(26:02):
Ferguson led the Italian side toa historic one nil win over AC
Milan in the final, securing Bologna's first major trophy
since 1974. Despite being kicked in the face
during the final, leaving him with a bloody nose, Ferguson
battled through to write his name in Bologna history.
The midfielder, currently valuedat over £20 million, is
reportedly attracting interest from the likes of Napoli and AC

(26:23):
Milan this summer. A move could benefit Aberdeen
too, who secured a 20% sell on clause when he transferred.
It was Mental Health Awareness Week and we met out with our
Mindset Officer Marie to have a chat about how you can foster
positive mental well-being. Staying active, connected and
getting plenty rest can help ensure that you avoid burnout.
We know it can be hard at times, but hopefully these tips can be

(26:46):
a reminder to look after yourself and stay positive.
Aberdeen FC Community Trust is committed to improving mental
well-being from adolescents through the Mindset Programme,
which is for being kindly supported by Strachans Limited,
First Integrated Solutions, EdenScott and CNOOC International.

(27:07):
My name is Murray Collie and I'mthe mindset development officer
here at Aberdeen Football Club Community Trust.
The Trust are committed to promoting positive mental
well-being through programmes such as the Changing Room and
the adolescent mental well-beingprogramme Mindset.
Because it's Mental Health Awareness Week, we're going to
share a couple of tips that people can use to foster
positive mental well-being and support your mental health.

(27:30):
Tip 1 is all about getting active.
So doing physical activity releases feel good chemicals in
your brain which can lift your mood and help to reduce stress.
Doesn't really matter the intensity either, whether it's a
short walk or a game of golf, a game of football, maybe a bit of
tennis. Any of these things can help to
lift your mood and help to buildstructure and routine, which is

(27:51):
good for your mental health. Tip 2 is all about staying
connected. Reaching out to others can help
reduce isolation, make you feel supported, and help to lift
life's burdens. It's also good for building
trust and helping other people makes you feel good about
yourself. Tip 3 is all about rest and
recovering. So life can get really busy and

(28:12):
if you let that overwhelm you, then it can lead to burnout.
It's important to let your mind and body recover.
You can do that by taking on a hobby that you enjoy and
spending time away from screens. It's also really important to
get restful sleep and all that is good for your mental health.
Looking after your mental healthdoesn't need to be complicated.
Small actions can make a big difference and consistency is

(28:35):
important. Aberdeen FC Community Trust are
committed to keeping the conversation going beyond Mental
Health Awareness Week. And other good news from the AFC
Trust. Katoni Engineering has renewed
its partnership with the Trust for another year, continuing its
role as Charity of the Year in 2024.
Over the past year, Katoni staffhave raised more than £10,000

(28:56):
for the Trust through a series of fundraising events including
the Katoni Golf Day and Client Dinners, all aimed at supporting
vital community work across the Northeast.
Staff also visited the EFC CTS health and well-being
initiatives, including the Community Habit Health Walks to
witness first hand the difference their support is
making. In a highlight of the year,
Katoni also hosted a Family Fun Day at Cormac Park, bringing

(29:19):
staff and their families together for a summer
