(00:22):
This is your Amcon Daily SITREP for October the 27th, 2025.
Up first today, Hurricane Melissa, a Category 5 storm, is heading towards Jamaica, Cuba, and Haiti.
Currently located about 120 miles south-southeast of Kingston,
Jamaica, it is intensifying rapidly with maximum sustained winds of 140 miles per hour.
The storm is expected to bring torrential rains, damaging wind gusts,

(00:43):
potentially deadly flash flooding, and significant storm surge.
Jamaica could see rainfall totals of 15 to 25 inches, and Haiti could face up to 35 inches.
This catastrophic weather event serves as a reminder to review and improve your
preparedness for disasters, especially hurricane-related emergencies.
In other news, flight delays across the United States are expected to worsen

(01:04):
as the government shutdown continues.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy has reported ongoing stress among air traffic
controllers who have been working without pay.
Major airports, including Newark Liberty International and Los Angeles International,
have experienced ground stops and delays averaging over an hour.
Travelers are advised to stay updated on flight statuses and have backup plans in place.

(01:24):
Meanwhile, the Trump administration has announced that no federal food aid benefits
will be issued on November 1st due to depleted program funds caused by the government shutdown.
Over 41 million Americans rely on this assistance, including 21% of New Mexico's population.
Governors in Louisiana and Virginia have declared states of emergency to address hunger relief.

(01:44):
It is recommended to remain aware when using SNAP benefits and to consider local.
Food banks and non-perishable food stocks.
A concerning health trend shows that brain fog, characterized by difficulty
concentrating, memory loss, and mental exhaustion, is rising most sharply among people under 40.
Experts link this to factors such as chronic stress, poor sleep,
long COVID, sedentary habits, and digital overload.

(02:05):
To combat brain fog, prioritize quality sleep, regular exercise,
brain-healthy nutrition, strategic breaks, mental challenges,
and consider brain-supportive supplements. Lastly, there continues to be protest
activity and potential civil unrest nationwide.
Local protests are scheduled for today in Pasadena, California,
WANANTA, New York, and New York City.
Members are urged to maintain high situational awareness at public events,

(02:28):
know their exits, and report any suspicious activities to authorities and the
ISAT team. Turning now to the weather.
Unsettled and cool conditions are spreading through the southeast and southern
Appalachians with isolated flash flooding possible. A new storm system is expected
to bring widespread showers and thunderstorms to the middle and lower Mississippi Valley by midweek.
The Pacific Northwest will see rain and higher elevation snow Tuesday,

(02:51):
while South Texas faces well above average temperatures in the 90s.
Southern California is under heat advisories due to warming and gusty Santa Ana winds.
The Cascades and Northern Rockies will see snow tapering off today following a cold front.
Looking ahead, the AMCON calendar highlights the South Region Adventure Challenge
scheduled from November 7th to 9th at the Boy Scout Camp in Millburn, Oklahoma.

(03:14):
This event offers an opportunity for members to hone preparedness skills through
outdoor activities and fellowship.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
