(00:25):
This is your Amcon Daily SITREP for November the 6th, 2025.
Up first today, the ongoing government shutdown is severely impacting air travel
across the United States.
As of the end of October, 80% of New York City area air traffic controllers
are absent due to a surge in callouts.
Nationwide, approximately 11,000 air traffic controllers missed their paychecks
on Tuesday, marking the first time they have gone unpaid during the shutdown.

(00:48):
This shortage is forcing the FAA to reduce flights by about 10%,
causing widespread delays and cancellations.
Travelers are urged to arrive early at airports, monitor flight statuses closely,
and prepare for the possibility of extended waits or overnight stays.
In other news, Pfizer is facing numerous lawsuits from women claiming that their
birth control drug, Depo-Provera, caused the development of benign brain tumors, known as meningiomas.

(01:12):
Recent scientific studies indicate that women using this drug for over a year
may be 3.5 times more likely to develop these tumors compared to those using
other hormonal birth control methods.
Women currently or previously using
Depo-Provera should consult medical professionals to assess their risk.
Turning to international incidents, a disturbing event unfolded in France,

(01:32):
where a driver deliberately used his vehicle to assault pedestrians and bicyclists,
injuring up to 10 people.
Authorities report the individual is a local French citizen and,
after the attacks, attempted to set his vehicle on fire while shouting Allahu Akbar.
At this time, French officials are not pursuing a terrorism investigation.
The incident underscores the importance of situational awareness in public spaces,

(01:54):
especially during festive gatherings.
On the topic of preparedness, experts continue to highlight the threat posed
by electromagnetic pulses, EMP, and geomagnetic disturbances, GMD.
These events, whether man-made or natural, could severely disrupt critical infrastructure
such as the electrical grid, communications, and water systems.
While the likelihood of an EMP attack is considered low, the consequences would

(02:16):
be catastrophic, potentially leaving millions without power for extended periods.
It is advised to keep small electronics protected in Faraday bags or metal containers
to shield against electromagnetic energy and to maintain general readiness for prolonged outages.
Lastly, civil unrest and protests continue around the nation with numerous demonstrations
scheduled in various cities over the coming days.

(02:36):
Members are reminded to maintain high situational awareness when attending or
in proximity to public gatherings, know the exits, and report any suspicious
activities promptly to authorities and the ISAT team.
For your weather update, unsettled conditions persist in the Pacific Northwest
and Northern California, with heavy rain and snowfall in the Cascades.
A G3-strong geomagnetic storm is currently underway.

(02:58):
Severe weather potential exists across portions of the Ohio and Tennessee valleys
into the central Gulf Coast, while much colder temperatures will arrive in the.
Upper Midwest later this week.
Windy conditions and scattered precipitation continue through the Northeast,
and fire weather concerns remain
elevated in the Central and Southern High Plains and the Upper Midwest.
Looking ahead, the American Contingency South Region Adventure Challenge will

(03:21):
take place November 7th through 9th at the Boy Scout Camp in Millburn, Oklahoma.
This event offers hands-on training and preparedness skills and is open to all
members interested in enhancing their readiness and survival capabilities.
Members can access the American Contingency Members Only site to get the full
report and more in-depth analysis of today's stories, along with practical preparedness

(03:42):
tips, training opportunities, and resources to help you, your family,
and your neighborhood stay crisis-ready.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
