Aujourd’hui, on reçoit Diane Bastien et Marc-Antoine Meilleur, deux esprits brillants et engagés de la coopérative d’ingénierie ALTE.
Marc-Antoine est ingénieur mécanique et l’un des cofondateurs de cette coop unique en son genre, née du désir de faire du génie conseil autrement — avec une attention toute particulière portée à l’équilibre entre vie professionnelle, accomplissement personnel, et engagement social. À ses côtés, Diane Bastien, physicienne, docteure en génie du bâtiment, directrice scientifique d’un projet à l’Université du Danemark du Sud, et membre d’ALTE depuis trois ans. Diane dirige aussi la firme d’inspection Bâtiments Vivants, et son parcours lui a valu plusieurs distinctions, dont celle d’« ingénieure qui bâtit l’avenir », selon Les Affaires.
Tous deux incarnent une approche différente de l’ingénierie : plus humaine, plus collective, plus durable. Dans cet épisode, on explore la gouvernance coopérative, le rôle de l’ingénieur dans la conception bioclimatique et l’empreinte carbone, l’importance de l’ingénierie dans les projets résidentiels et même agricoles, et pourquoi les serres solaires passives pourraient jouer un rôle clé dans notre autonomie alimentaire.
On parle aussi d’inspection, de murs perspirants, de projets alternatifs, de laboratoires vivants, de performance énergétique… mais surtout, d’une autre manière de bâtir, ensemble.
