Gunter Schmidt war viele Jahre Leiter der Abteilung für Sexualforschung der Psychiatrischen Klinik an der Universität Hamburg und Vorsitzender der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Sexualforschung. For many years, Gunter Schmidt was head of the Department of Sexual Research at the Psychiatric Clinic at the University of Hamburg and chairman of the German Society for Sexual Research.
