Welcome to the BeyondX Podcast! In this week’s episode of BeyondCities our guest was Dr. Giancarlo Mangone, Principal at Wicked Solutions, and a Senior Consultant to the United Nations.
In the first half of our discussion, we unwrapped existing cities, and spoke on the advantages of a regional approach to masterplanning, the impact and importance of natural integration, the impact of foreign investments on housing markets, the importance of promoting affordable housing and the shortcomings of the modern suburban ecosystem.
In the second half of our discussion, we explored the future of cities, and how urban environments can be built with nature at their core, rather than the reverse. We also touched on children’s need for outdoor play, the benefits of inter-generational communities, the role of sustainability in city design, Self-Sustaining Cities and the Circular Economy, and building brand new cities of the future.
