Earlier in October orchestra members auditionedfor the all-region orchestra.
Congratulations to Mia Garza, Aryana Pena,Sergio Gallegos, Ruth Deleon, & Milan Bowers
for making the Region 8 Orchestra on Violin.
October’s Lunch ‘n’ Learn is about debunkingmovie science.

It will take place tomorrow in room 1200 duringall three lunches.
If any students are interested in developingleadership skills while making a difference
in the school and community, they are invitedto join VKOT.
Students can pick up an application in room3129, 2113, 3221, or 3227 or use the QR Code
found on flyers around campus.

The freshmen class will be electing theirclass council tomorrow, October 20.
All members must have at least a 2.0 GPA tobe eligible.
UIL Academics practices are starting now.
Students can participate in different academicevents and be a part of the school team at

Students also have the opportunity to earna letter jacket through participation.

The Brazos Valley College and Career Nightis scheduled for Monday, October 24 from 6-8

The evening will focus on educational opportunitiesfor both college and workforce-bound students
where they will be able to meet with a varietyof college and workforce representatives.
Participation is free and open to all highschool students.
The Norsedragon D&D Club will meet again onThursday, October 27 in room 6160.

Dues are $20 and include a club shirt andmust be paid by the October 27 meeting.
Students can also stop by room 6160 any timeto make a payment.
Last week, the cross country team competedat district in Pflugerville.
Senior Andrew Shields earned 8th place andqualified for region while also earning 1st
team all-district honors and Bryan Ybarrawas named 2nd team all-district.

JV football team played a good Weiss teamlast Thursday and came out on the losing end
of a tough battle.
The JV football team is back in action Thursdaynight at Merrill Green Stadium.
The varsity football team played the WeissWolves at Merrill Green Stadium Friday night
and lost 13-38, moving to their record to4 and 3 overall and 1 and 2 in district.

Scoring for the Vikings were Creed Pierceon a quarterback sneak, and Terrence Lewis
on a 53 yard run.
Defensively, Tyson Turner had an interception.
The Vikings look to get back on track versusthe Midway Panthers this Friday in Waco.
