Bruno Le Forestier kwam op de middelbare school niet verder dan de eerste klas, en werd wegens ongedisciplineerdheid gedrag van school gestuurd.
Zijn droom: singer-songwritter worden.
In Oktober 1972 stond hij in het voorprogramma van zijn grote idool, Georges Brassens.
Zijn doorbraak volgde even later met het album Mon frère. goed voor meer dan een miljoen exemplaren.
Hij had de titelsong net na de scheiding van zijn ouders geschreven. Hij fantaseert over de broer die hij nooit gehad heeft.
Collega Julien Clerc werd zijn muzikale broer. Le Forestier en Clerc: beiden kinderen van gescheiden ouders.
Het thema komt terug in hun werk, zoals in in Double Enfance; dubbele jeugd …een chanson dat Maxime schreef voor Julien.
