Cody how are you I am doing great,
question for you and I know you and your family have been in the garage door
business now since 1987 a long time your father started the business you guys

(00:22):
have seen a lot of things you've installed all a lot of garage doors.
What brands do you offer the homeowner?
Yep. Well, so first things first, most clients think the garage door is what the motor unit is.
Okay. So the motor unit may say genie or lift master or craftsman,
uh, or something like that.

(00:44):
But, uh, but you, the door manufacturer is actually different than the motor unit.
There are two different systems that work together that are screwed together.
Um, so on the door manufacturers, uh, the brands that we use,
uh, right now we're using Clopay.
Um, so Clopay is our biggest one that we're using right now.
Amar would be the second. Um, we can get CHI, we can get Windsor doors,

(01:08):
um, door link, Wayne Dalton.
So we can get a lot of different options, but the main two would be Clopay and Neymar for right now.
Does a homeowner generally request a brand?
Because I think a garage door is a garage door to most homeowners, kind of like a roof.
I mean, they may have heard of like GAF or something for a roof.

(01:30):
They may have heard of Clopay, but chances are they just want something that
works well and looks good.
That's a great question. So most homeowners don't really
pick out a certain brand they're picking out a make a
stamp pattern or a color it's our
job as professionals to figure out okay what level
door do they want like everything there's different grades of

(01:52):
everything right so you have what we call hollow doors or pan doors so doors
with new insulation well there's there's a couple manufacturers that do a great
job on those you might want a double layered steel door with insulation in it
so we call that a sandwich door or I call it a steel back.
And on that, there's a couple different brands that I prefer, that we prefer to use.

(02:15):
So it depends on kind of what exact, you know, benefits or features the client's looking for.
And then we'll find out which manufacturer makes that the best and the right
timeline for the customer on when they want to get it installed.
So, hey, I need to install it tomorrow. Well, we may be limited on options of what the options are.

(02:37):
But if they can order what exactly they want, we will find the best make and
model and brand that makes that particular door better for them.
Yeah. People are probably most concerned with how something looks first.
It's like a car, right? We don't look at the safety testing on the car first.

(02:59):
We get attracted to the car or the truck.
And then we might say, okay, let's look at the particulars.
What's the safety rating on
it and so forth. I would imagine with garage doors, it'd be very similar.
I'm looking for this. Now tell me, is it quiet? Is it dependable? And is it safe?
Yes. And again, you know, on that part, it's part of the service provider is

(03:23):
something that garage door doctor does.
Our goal is to give you, if we're getting a door system, we'll figure out kind
of the stamp pattern and the color and figure out what options there are on that.
And we'll try to build you out six different packages that you get to choose from.
So I like to say, and I heard this from Joe Crisara once, I like to say,
we're a window, not a door.
So our job is to give you all the options and you choose which one's best for you and your family.

(03:48):
Our job is to make sure that out of those options that we give you,
that each particular one is the best grade in that category,
if that makes sense, the best quality.
Best in its class, and there are different classes of garage doors,
and that's the great thing, too.
If somebody wants an economy door, Garage Door Doctor can help.
