Anger is part of being human and can protect us from harm, but can also harm us and others, and damage our mental and physical health. It is behind much of the violence in the world, and plays a role in the 20% of people that suffer from domestic abuse. 1 million cases of violence against women were recorded by police in 2022/23, just in the UK. This is preventable. A deeper understanding of the root causes of anger can help us use our emotional intelligence to manage it better. This understanding can also help us deal better with angry people.
