سیاوش پیریایی از سال ۱۳۶۵ معلم ادبیات بوده. بعد از اینکه تاثیر کتاب‌های غیر درسی را روی بچه‌های کلاس می‌بیند، با کمک همسرش فریبا اقدامی و دوستانش، شروع می‌کنند به برگزاری برنامه‌های متنوع کتابخوانی و کم کم برنامهٔ ماراتن کتاب، جمعیت هم‌خوانان کتاب یا جهک و باشگاه کتابخوانی ازتا شکل می‌گیرد. با آقای پیریایی از معلمی ادبیات و تاثیر کتاب و تئاتر در زندگی حرف زدیم و همین‌طور ماجرای شکل‌گیری ماراتن کتاب و ازتا.
