In dieser Folge dreht sich alles um das Spar- und Konsumverhalten von amerikanischen Haushalten, die plötzlich und unerwartet deutlich mehr Geld zur Verfügung haben. Die Ergebnisse sind für uns sparsame Schwaben mehr als unerwartet, sie helfen jedoch dabei zu verstehen, wie sich bspw. eine Senkung der Einkommenssteuer auf das Konsumverhalten von Haushalten auslösen könnte. Für die Studie wurden ca. 40 Millionen US Dollar ausgegeben, um 3000 Haushalte über drei Jahre zu beobachten, wie sie zusätzliches verfügbares Einkommen tatsächlich ausgeben.
