We explore the significant impact small businesses have on job creation in the U.S., and why it's crucial for applicants to consider their qualifications before applying to these roles. The episode also addresses the challenges of overqualified candidates seeking purpose-driven work and the importance of aligning their skills with job specifications.

Additionally, we discuss the benefits of utilizing software that offers free online training, emphasizing the value of employees who are ready to jump into work with minimal supervision. I wanted to talk about the mindset behind hiring an employee for your business.
I wanted to start with online career coaches who coach employees who seek jobs.
I think they give great advice, but there is a major factor missing in their

(00:49):
coaching presentation.
That is pretty common practice across the coaching world.
Now, there might be some outliers that I have not come across,
so I'm statistically leaving room for that probability. ability.
There is a difference between the corporate world and small business.
Let me repeat that there is a difference between corporate world and the small business world.

(01:10):
Now in the U.S., the SBA has different criteria for industries and employee
size or generated revenue in order to name a business small or not.
So a lot of these career coaches are on the corporate culture level when discussing job opportunities.
But small businesses play a significant role in job creation and employment in the U.S.

(01:35):
What am I trying to get at here?
Well, the conversation about applying for the job if you do not qualify will
most likely work for big corporate opportunities and not small businesses with limited resources.
If they don't qualify for a job position that is posted for small business,
I would highly suggest they don't apply and overflood small businesses with applications.

(01:57):
Again, not all small businesses are equipped with the resources that big corporations
have to personally train employees who are not qualified at all.
There is always some type of training, but not to the extent that big corporations have.
And let's talk about overqualified individuals who are looped out of the job market.
I had overqualified individuals, some with double masters and PhD,

(02:21):
law degrees with capabilities to practice in this country and outside of the country,
and other fields of work with no current or past experience in marketing communications or sales,
all demanding salaries to their degrees and not the specifications to their skills.
All of them have a common theme, and it's wanting to work in a purpose-driven

(02:45):
work environment, to work in an environment that matters.
I've noticed that Isabella Public Relations branding does call out to talent
who want to make a difference.
So that's very positive feedback on branding.
If you want to attract the same type of talent to your organization,
register for a free masterclass on thought leadership and automatically join

world of marketing communications.

I have private conversation that extend from the podcast.
Join now and be part of those conversations.
I also want to touch on employees who you hire who do not make decisions based

(03:29):
on what is good for the company, but what will look good on their resume.
Purchasing software or hiring employees who aren't needed is an unnecessary expense.
Consider software that the company itself makes it their mission to provide
free training for their software online.

(03:50):
There are a lot of companies that offer certificates for free on how to train
your employees on how to use their software.
If you are a tech company that needs those services from Isabella Public Relations,
we're here to help you along with that process.
I often looked at LinkedIn for these type of certificates of completion,

(04:10):
and I know that I do not have to worry about training these potential employees.
The training is minimum.
A lot of these certificates are absolutely free.
So these individuals already have a mindset of jumping into the work with minimum supervision.
They have a mindset of adding value for value.

(04:31):
A growth mindset is also about how can I contribute and add in exchange for said value in a company.
So what did we talk about here? Well, I started it off with the mindset hiring
an employee for your business.
Online career coaches give great advice, but there's a major factor missing
in their coaching presentation when it comes to small business versus corporate.

(04:54):
Consider using software that the company itself makes.
Its mission to provide free training for their software online.
People who take advantage of these types of software and their free training
already have a mindset of jumping into the work with minimum supervision and growth mindset.
Overqualified individuals are looped out of the job market and want to work

(05:18):
in a purpose-driven work environment.
They are looking to cross over to other industries.
This is great news for employers looking for talent who have the resources to train individuals.
I invite those individuals to look into online community created for individuals
looking to cross over into other industries.

(05:40):
I invite them to click on the link in the show notes and join the community.
I wrote a week ago on LinkedIn that my company's model is creating and executing
thought leadership initiatives.
It leads with branding and core values. Personal branding and branding are not new concepts.

(06:01):
My goal is to provide insights to people on how they can do that as a marketing
communications professional.
How? It's about having a natural ability to connect with people and appreciate
people for who they are and what they can accomplish.
After all, we're created in God's beautiful image, whether you believe in a God or not.

(06:23):
And because of that, I do believe there is something beautiful in everyone to share with the world.
