Ryan Dusick is a musician best known as the original drummer for the American pop rock band Maroon 5. He was a founding member of the band along with Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, Mickey Madden, and James Valentine. Dusick played drums for Maroon 5 from its formation in 1994 (originally known as Kara's Flowers) until 2006. During his time with the band, Maroon 5 gained widespread popularity with hits like "This Love," "She Will Be Loved," and "Harder to Breathe." Dusick left the band in 2006 due to serious wrist and shoulder injuries, and he was replaced by Matt Flynn. Since leaving Maroon 5, Dusick has pursued other ventures outside of the music industry of being a psychotherapist and writing his latest book,Harder to Breathe: A Memoir of Making Maroon 5, Losing It All, and Finding Recovery

Ryan Dusick is a therapist, author, and the founding drummer of Maroon 5. He was instrumental in the band's rise to fame, contributing to their early success with hits like Songs About Jane. However, the rapid transition from garage band to global stardom took a significant toll on Dusick’s mental health, leading him to step away from Maroon 5 in 2006 due to physical and emotional burnout. After struggling with anxiety, depression, and addiction, he found purpose through recovery work, which inspired him to pursue a new career in mental health.
