We're gonna do something,we're gonna take a look back.
We've carefully curated 12 hours of,no I'm kidding, I'm kidding, we're
not gonna make you guys do that.
We're gonna take a look back atthe Daybreak Winter Market that
just went down a couple weeks back.

(00:34):
It was an incredible time,Laura Gaylord crushed it again.
Let me just tell you that because shealways Puts on the most incredible events,
uh, empowered community markets, hercousin Rachel, she's crushing it as well.
I gotta tell you that I boughtone of the craziest things that
you could find at a market.

(00:55):
Uh, at this Daybreak Winter Market.
And, I'm not gonna actually tellyou what it is, because it's for my
wife, and she's in the next room.
So, I haven't given her the present.
But, I will tell you this, the person whosold it to me will be on Radio Daybreak
at some point in the very near future.
So, be on the lookout for that.

(01:15):
It's gonna be wild, I promise Daybreak.
Let's go take a look at when me and Beckswere out at the Daybreak Community Center,
the DCC, at the Daybreak Winter Market.
We even got another meetup with Santain here, so let's go take a look.
we had to stop by of course,um, with Radio Daybreak.
This is the magic makerof the winter market.

(01:38):
We had her on the show to announce it.
But tell us, like, what's new this year?
What do we need to check out and not miss?
Oh, goodness.
So, okay.
So, the apothecary is new.
Yeah.
We've got, over here, we've gotTaiwanese waffles with an Oreo
inside it, shaped like Pokemon.
Okay.
They're amazing.
I don't know how else to describe it.
Yeah.
We've got everything frompeanut brittle in the hall.

(02:01):
We've got, um, gosh, art andjewelry and macarons and just
so many wonderful things.
Whether you're looking for a treatfor yourself or your neighbors.
Stocking stuffers, full size gifts.
Right next door over here we've gotthe Crafted Horizons where you can
print your own or they'll print the tshirt right there which is fantastic.
We got a few of those for the family.

(02:21):
Did you get these
from a market?
This one I think I got fromALO which is over here.
Okay.
I love everything I get from market.
All right
Laura, so we do have to ask youwhere are the special guests Mr.
and Mrs.
Claus?
Straight
Down this way.
So if you look straightdown this aisle, you'll see
the sparkly lights.

(02:41):
Whoa!
Whoa!
Whoa!
Did I hear Santa is here?
Yes, you
did.
You're talking about the real.
I'm talking the real Santa.
I mean, there's
nothing wrong with theother Santas out there.
It isn't the real deal.
Because Santa needs help.
Santa needs help.
Well, along with having myways, we have some extra special
sponsors that helped us with that.
Becks, Nelson Real Estate, thank you so much for sponsoring
and State Farm did as well.
So we are super grateful for themfor helping us bring this room.

(03:04):
This is from the North Pole becausethat is quite a trip to make.
It's a long trip.
We made the trip up there.
Me and Becks made the trip up thereand interviewed that same Santa.
I bet you guys were like freezing.
You guys have good coats and everything.
We had good coats, we were
prepared.
That was last year.
The elves made us some hot chocolate.
That's amazing.
We had an awesome snowball fight.
That was last year.
Yes,
yes,
you remember the interview.

(03:25):
Yes, I sure do.
Look at that.
So
if you haven't seen that out there, gocheck that interview out with Santa.
It's the real deal, Santa.
And we're going to go talk to him againbecause I know he remembers all of
us.
Of course, of course he does.
I've got to
see where we fall on the list this year.
Oh, well, I know where I'm at.
It's on the nice list.
But we're done.
Up for debate, always.
Yeah, right?
Up
for debate.
We never know with this guy.

(03:46):
Exactly.
Let's
go.
So, you are the magic thatmakes this happen every year.
That is right.
First off, thank youso much for all you do.
The community reallylooks forward to this.
We absolutely love
it.
Give us the tour.
Alright, so we're on the first aisle here.
We've got Taiwanese waffles withOreos in them, shaped like Pokemon.
Wait, I'm,
that's it?
I'll stop here.
That's all?
I don't need to go any further?

(04:06):
This does not get very far.
Wait a minute, is this free samples here?
What is
this?
This is what it looks like, and they gave me one yesterday.
I'll take a whole one?
You got
a piece of what?
I'll take a whole one.
Yeah, look, so
there's an Oreo inside it.
I see, that's awesome, look at that.
And I was like, I don't know whatI'm eating, but this is amazing.
That's incredible.
That's amazing.
That's incredible.
I know, right?
Alright, so, it was awesome.

(04:29):
Oh, I do.
I have the right
shirt.
Look at this guy.
He picked it up.
Okay.
It's a cuirass seed.
This is from The Legend of Zelda.
Yes.
Look at this.
We got, hey.
He knows his stuff.
I like that.
There we go.
See, we got a naturalconnection like that.
Hi Blane.
We're gonna continue the rest of the
tour.
We've got some cake toffee.
We've got evening pet accessories.

(04:51):
So, if you're looking for uh,bandanas or bows for your pets.
Oh, yes.
Yojo Jewelry has, uh,it's from Japan, right?
So, jewelry from Japan.
Sky over here has jewelry that she made.
She's one of our youthvendors, which we love.
Oh, okay.
Nourished tallow care.
If you haven't tried tallowlotion and products, you have to.

(05:13):
With Julie.
Is that Julie over there?
Yeah, this is her machine.
I
have.
I have tried that, and I've talkedto Julie a lot about this stuff.
It's amazing.
It really is.
Yeah, it's a
natural product.
Well, the tallow is natural in allthe products that she puts in them.
So, essential oils and stuff, and what itdoes for your skin is just outstanding.
So, so I haven't tried it.
So are you using that product?
No, no, no.
Listen, I did a lot of research andI, and I was with Julie all summer

(05:36):
at the farmer's markets and I waslearning about this stuff because she
had the pictures of, she's got these,I hate to say it, but horrendous
looking photos of people's skin.
It is.
And it's like crackedheels and things like that.
It is
rough.
In Utah, right?
Like, this is us, with the weatherchanges and all of that, so
yes, her product is fantastic.
In
Utah, I talked to her too, becauseUtah's one of the worst places for

(05:58):
the dry skiing and all that stuff.
Yeah, the weather.
Yeah, I'm not from here.
When I moved here, whoo!
You
talk
about, tunnel.
The dryness sucks all the moistureout, so you've just got to use that.
So, we've got hand painted.
Oh, so fun.
Like, Flora's Artistry is so much fun.
The ornaments, I got one last time.
I have one of her, um,What do you call it?

(06:20):
Paintings!
One of her paintings hanging up in myoffice of the Daybreak Farmers Market.
And it's just, I love it.
So yep, she painted one for meand it's got a prominent place.
I love this.
I love this.
That is so fun.
You do so good, and I alwayssay this, but you do so good at
having a diverse group of people.
What's she got?
Oh,
we've got Daybreak.

(06:40):
There it is.
Oh, I love it.
That's the O'Kerr
Lake.
That's right.
Let's
just do one side at a time.
That's how
you say it, right?
It's got all those R's in here.
Yes.
Yes.
He loves that.
There you go.
One more.
Hold on.
Hold on.
What was it?
She's got her own embroidery and sewing.
Oh, wow.
Okay, before the girls check this out.
It's on here first, there's stuffso you can put your lipstick, your

(07:02):
nail file, your chapstick, yourOh, all the little things, that's
cute!
Is this a magic bag?
Because you just named off like 80 things.
It's like a mini Mary Poppins bag.
It's like Mary Poppins.
Yeah, it's
a mini Mary Poppins bag.
That's pretty
cool.
That's pretty cool.
Yeah,
it really is.
Magic.
She's selling magic here.
Completely
is.

(07:23):
So many cute earrings.
Rubik's cubes.
Oh, look at these.
I
actually got myself a pair of those today.
Oh my gosh.
Look, I feel like I need them with
my nails.
Okay, look at that.
That is like Christmas reindeer.
I know, there's
so few.
So, I've actually figured outwhy you do the farmer's markets.
Why's
that?
It's so you can do your own shopping.
Yeah.
I do all my Christmasshopping at my market.

(07:43):
You like to bring
all of your vendors.
That's why.
You hand select these people.
These are people you will buy from.
Oh, yes.
So,
she's the smart one here.
That's why she does the farmer's markets.
Oh, I know.
She's
the Christmas
shopper.
She brings, she brings everybodyhere so she can do her shopping.
I do all my
shopping.
Yes.
I go to other markets.
I say, I want you, and I want you.
She's like, I love it.
I love it.
Everybody here.
And then I do my shopping.
The Rubik's cubes here.

(08:04):
Oh, cute.
From here.
Let's see.
Yep.
Oh,
I see Rob cones.
I see Rubik's cubes just as as wild.
I love it.
That's so fun.
I love it.
So something
for everything.
KitchenAid
mushrooms for for yourmushroom fans out there.
'cause hey, they're out there.
They're so fun.
Thanks.
Oh, how fun!
So, Lauren has freeze dried candies,we've got some jewelry here too,

(08:25):
but if you're a freeze dried fan, this is where you want to come.
They're so great for stockingstuffers, and neighbor gifts,
all those sorts of things.
So this is super fun tostop and shop and eat.
She's got a new peppermint one thisyear that I just tried, so yummy.
And then over here, Montereyhas mint mints, okay, I've got
to tell you, right this way.
It was an experiment.
She has one for acne.

(08:46):
I have teenagers.
Yes.
And I, but we like touse natural products.
So we got her acne cleansingand the charcoal soap bar
and it's really cleared up.
Wow.
It's a very natural way forthem to handle their, yeah.
Oh, they got beard oil.
Look at this.
They got beard
oil.
Oh.
Look at a little
bit of it.
You might need to tell him

(09:07):
about the beard oil.
Did Santa use some of it?
Yeah.
So we love all her products here.
They're natural and theywork really, really well.
We can tell you fromfirst hand experience.
And it
smells so good right here.
Oh my goodness.
We knew we were coming to this cornerand we were like, we can smell it.
It smells so good.
Exactly.
So we're going to come down this
way.

(09:29):
Snowball 3D prints.
So Jordan makes all thesefrom Snowball 3D printing.
He's often at the Farmer's Market as well.
Oh, these are so fun.
Aren't they fun?
The dragons.
Look at that.
And the baby things.
My
kids love this stuff right here.
Oh,
wow.
Those are really cool.
I've spent enough on these
things that I need tojust buy a 3D printer.
Just buy a 3D printer.
There you go, Blane.

(09:50):
And I might buy one afterI see this right here.
Is
that so
cool?
Oh, wow.
Is this Mandalorian set 3D printed?
That's 3D printed?
3D printed.
Made it all myself.
Woo!
And you're wearing it, right?
You put that on?
I wore it at FANX.
Yeah.
The helmet shattered though atFANX, so I had to reprint it.
Well, I mean, you could
just build that into a storylineand make another different
type of Mandalorian, right?

(10:11):
I work for Halloween.
My baby was a baby Yoda.
Oh,
cute!
He's gonna show us.
What are you showing us here?
You do?
I'm showing a picture, one second.
Is it picking up there?
Probably.
Justin, does this mic pick up?
Hello, hello.
Okay.
So I've already printedthis, uh, Mandalorian stuff.

(10:33):
Yeah.
And, uh, me and my wife were peoplefrom, uh, the Mandalorian show.
Woo!
Let's see if we can, canwe get a shot of that?
Can we focus that on the camera?
Cause look at this.
That's some real live cosplay.
That's
some talent.
It
really
is.
I love that stuff, dude.
This is great stuff.
We were at FanX, too.
We were.
We were at FanX, yeah.
We were out there doinginterviews with people.

(10:54):
Yep.
I loved it.
That's my first one.
We'll be back, though.
Really?
Yeah.
Oh, absolutely.
That's my second one this lastyear, and it's good every time.
Oh, so much fun.
We'll be back.
I think the tickets are on sale now.
Go check it out.
We'll be
watching for you andyour awesome costumes.
Yeah.
Yes.
So, here we have Infra Romero.
They do permanent jewelry, and they alsohave other jewelry and stickers here.

(11:17):
She just loves having these.
I have permanent jewelry,which I love having.
I make it custom.
I custom
fit it to you.
Oh, wow!
And you can add charms tomake it extra meaningful with
like birthstones or initials.
Um, you don't have to make it permanentif a clasp is more your thing.
I have clasps you can add.
But it's great.
You can customize it.

(11:38):
Like you get to be the artistinstead of another artist.
Yeah.
Making something for you.
You pick out your chain and your charms.
That's what I was just
going to say.
So you start with the chainand then you can kind of just
come through and pick out.
Yeah, you can pick out
if you want to add any um,like embellishments to it.
Um, I have some really fun stuff,
yeah.
Yeah, that is very fun.
Can put a clasp on anythingif nobody, that's so nice.

(11:59):
Because everybody wants it on, correct.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But then you get, I mean, this one righthere, I got online, um, and it's just got
this dangly thing, right, that I just haveto deal with because I didn't make it.
So this one is great 'cause itpicked, it fits right to me.
And so you can just custom Exactly.
It's custom to you, right?
Yeah, yeah.
Your style, your fit, yourcharms, you can make it meaning.

(12:22):
Well, I know Blane has been after, like,Radio Daybreak, matching BFF bracelets.
Twinship bracelets.
Twinship bracelets.
Yes, I make And I have men's chains,
too.
Oh, hey.
So,
I You know what?
I think we need to get that forthe show and for all of our guests.
We
should.
We really should.
We should.
8 7.
We got merch on the website?
Yeah, we do.
Yeah.
Hold on a minute now.
We're Whoa!
We're speeding up a wholebusiness idea here for us.

(12:43):
Yeah, there
you
go.
Well, so much.
This is incredible stuff.
This is awesome.
I love this.
Thank you, thank you.
Laura, what else we got over here?
So this one's going to take a littlewhile because we've got free smells here.
Okay.
Might as well smell it.
And so you might as well smell it.
Actually, we're goingto, where's the, okay.
Oh, you went straight for the whiskey.
Blane, this is, I'm goingto get it for Blane.

(13:04):
I saw
her go straight for that whiskey.
Oh,
yeah.
I was like, It's like a whiskey barrel.
It smells just like a whiskey barrel.
That's, that's wild.
Oh my gosh.
Okay.
Wow.
So
four sugars.
All right,
so we've got, let's see, let's try
down the circuit.
Yes, exactly.
Well, we just bought this one,
so this is breakfast.

(13:24):
We got this at, like, the night.
Oh!
Okay, let's see.
That's breakfast.
Oh
my gosh, that is someserious bacon in there.
Right?
I know!
Yes, that's like bacon and eggs.
That's delicious.
Exactly.
Yes.
We should do, uh, we shoulddo blind smelters and guests.
That's what, that's what we should do.
Maybe a little,
yeah.
Oh, this is fantastic.

(13:45):
This is cool.
This is super cool.
We've got a little sign here
with creative uses too, so.
I have way more up here.
Yeah, I'll bet.
I'll bet, yeah.
So these two I also sell.
process, the tie, the red.
That's awesome.
You're a mixologisttruly in your own form.
That's so cool.

(14:08):
Man.
So not everybody out there goesinto The salt and sugar business.
Well, how?
Why?
So my wife, she, she juststarted this red wine.
Then she did a craft lake city, right?
And her friends got her into it.
And then she sold out a bunch of money.
And that was just like,I do this full time now.

(14:29):
This is like something
I could get addicted to.
This isn't even all of
it.
On our website, we have like five more.
I have like 20 in thepipeline coming through.
Really?
Yeah, yeah.
That's what I love aboutthese types of venues.
People can go full time and so whenyou buy products at an event like
this, you are literally supportingthe person that you're buying from.

(14:51):
Absolutely.
That's a big reason why I do this.
People are falling in love withit, I'm falling in love with them.
That's it, that's it.
And
this is the Salted Roots?
Yup.
Man, I'm gonna check youout at the Salted Roots.
That's you?
Yeah.
I'll follow you, I'll find you out there.
Look for us, look for us.
Alright, so we're here.
Ooh, look at this.
Is there, um Okay, we've got resin pots.

(15:16):
Um, so a variety of just like kind ofreally unique type gifts, you know.
Look at these coasters right here.
You got your honeycomb.
Like I'm just bumbling here becausethere's like so many different
things that are so unique.
What?
Like
these are, these are wild.

(15:38):
These are wild and I love all this stuff.
Like there's cool looking colors.
Because we all have people in our livesthat we're like, What do I get for them?
And this is like, the unique type ofthings that you can't find somewhere else.
When I find people that I'mlike, What do I get for them?
You, you, you go out there andyou find this stuff and you're
like, When you see something andyou say, Who would I buy that for?

(15:59):
That's what you do.
That's the people.
That's how you connect
those two, right?
Yes, it's like those unique gifts, right?
I don't want to like interruptbecause this has been fantastic.
You
got some exciting news for us.
I
got some breaking news.
We're going to go check out the big man.
Ryan Red.

(16:20):
Santa time.
Let's go see Santa.
Oh my gosh.
It is the man himself.
I've got to sit over here.
No, no, no.
Wait
a minute.
Okay, let me sit over here with Mrs.
Ho, ho, ho.
Merry Christmas.

(16:41):
Alright.
Okay, alright Blane, I know you'vegot lots of questions for Santa.
I've got a ton of questions.
We interviewed Santa last year.
Yes, you
did.
You remember us.
I do.
You don't ever forget me.
I never forget you.
Well, he's been on the nice list.
He's waned a little bit in thesummer, but he came right back up.
Santa, that was one ofthe questions we had.
I mean, I knew I was on the nice list, but we didn't know about this guy.

(17:03):
You
know about the problems duringthe earlier part of the year.
I know all about that.
And I'm glad you came upright out of that funk.
I am so glad to hear that.
Good job, Blane.
I am so happy to hear that.
I am.
I am excited to hear that.
I asked you last year about the moviewith the mercenaries that you saved.
I've seen a couple of theother crazy movies this year.

(17:26):
I saw one with Arc the Clown, I don'tknow if you've seen that yet, but
you better watch out for that guy.
There's a bad guy.
Sometimes
those
clowns will fool
you.
Yeah, they're a little
out of control, so we'llstay away from the clowns.
Yeah, but what about Becks though?
Her year, you said?
Yeah.
I'm pretty confident.
I'm pretty confident.
She is so good that sometimeswe wanted to call her Syrup.
See?

(17:47):
She's so sweet.
Sweet as sugar.
Sweet as butter up.
She tells people there's good, there's better, there's Becks.
So there you go.
Good, better, and Becks.
Now Mrs.
Claus, how has this holidayseason been this year for you?
Is it busy as always?
Busy as always.
So fun.
So fun.
I've hardly
had time to make cookies becauseI've been seeing so many people.

(18:07):
Well, there's so many here today, too, and we appreciate you coming
back every year to the market becausewe know Daybreak loves to have you.
We've seen them
grow up from this big to this big.
Oh, I'm sure.
I kind of want some cookies.
Can me and you go make some cookies?
I'd love to.
That's a bucket list of mine.
Me and Miss Claus making cookies.
Well,
you know, Santa told us what hisfavorite cookie was last year.
The snickerdoodle.

(18:28):
I remember that.
Santa.
And I'm gonna just ask, did youmake those this year, Blane?
I
made some snickerdoodles.
You did?
The kids put them out.
Okay, okay.
What about
the reindeer food?
Did you get that out this year?
And we know who the favorite reindeer is.
He's still the
favorite.
Blitzen, we heard it was Blitzen.
Well,
mine this year is Comet.
It's Comet.

(18:48):
Oh, it changed.
Comet's been better this year, apparently.
Is that the same for you?
Comet came in.
I like Dancer
because I say, Dancer, come on over.
And she just dances on over.
She dances on over.
She's
just always happy.
So tell me about the elves this year.
How's the snowball fightsbeen up in the North Pole?
They've been pretty
good.
They've settled down this year.
They did, okay.
Because there's so manyorders that have to get in.
They have to be concentratingon their area of expertise.

(19:11):
Okay, so snowball fights have decreaseda little bit because they're to work.
You got a couple weeks till Christmas.
Yeah,
she doesn't give themcookies until they hit.
Oh, smart.
They reach a different level.
Very smart.
Very smart.
We need them to work.
Yeah, they got to work right now.
They could rest what, in a couple weeks?
A couple of weeks.
We're all getting to be in the hot tub.
How much?
Oh, love it.
Oh, I might have be back to the

(19:32):
North Pole to go visit Santa and Mrs.
Claus.
We should go out there.
That would be a sight.
That
sounds
fantastic.
I
think we should.
Let's make a,
now where do you vacation?
Well, we vacation alot in uh, Lake Powell.
Oh, very nice.
And up in, uh, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
Okay,
beautiful.
We have, uh,

(19:52):
Banff.
We've been to Banff.
Ooh,
I love Banff.
Banff is beautiful.
Jasper, Banff up there in Canada.
Oh, but you get lost up there.
I like to go to the Calgary Stampede.
Yeah.
So you don't discriminate, Santa.
You'll do both coldvacations and warm vacations.
Coffee.
Okay.
Now, Santa,
one last question for youbefore we get out of here.
You know me.

(20:13):
You remember my last name.
That's right.
Well, it's very similar to Santa's.
It is the same.
Yes.
How many more years until it's my turn?
Well, you've got to geta little bit lighter.
You've got to get a little wider on it.
You notice it turned, it turneda lot this year, didn't it?
It's getting,
it's
getting
there.
You
did say, you know, you're inthat lineage with Nicholas.
I'm in the lineage.
I'm in the lineage.

(20:33):
I
love it.
Thank you so much.
You have E N on your name, don't you?
No.
Don't you?
You have an O N?
No, it's Nicholas.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yes.
Nicholas.
We're here?
Yes.
He knows.
He knows.
These are the ultimate Marshalligans.
And they've got these really fun bagshere for putting them in for storage.

(20:57):
Okay.
I
love that.
That's genius.
Now this is some ingeniousstuff right here.
Like this is
great.
And this couple always coordinates.
I just have to say that.
Oh yeah.
Look at these outfits.
I did
notice that.
You guys look amazing.
Look at you guys.
You guys are just adorable.
You are
picture
perfect.
Where did this business come from?
It was
my idea.
Totally.

(21:18):
You know what?
It is a very common theme thatwe've heard everybody out here.
It's either the wife or the, basicallythe woman's idea is the business.
Now, are you guys together?
I gotta ask.
How long you guys been together?
We've been together 60 years.
Did you say 6 0?

(21:38):
6 5.
Oh,
6 5.
6 5.
Oh, 65 years, wow.
One says
60, one says
65.
I guess when you get toHe was married in 1959.
Okay.
So do the math on that, that's a lot.
We're
still as happy as can be.
You know what?

(21:59):
You know
what?
I, I, I I love the businessand everything, but I want
to ask a personal question.
How?
How do you guys do that?
How have you gotten along for this long?
Oh,
it's just been
easy.
It's easy.
Thank you.
Yes, very.
You know what, there's a lotof young people watching.
Okay.
What do you have to do to getthis kind of relationship?

(22:22):
Like, what are you going todo when you find that person?
How do you make her happy?
It's give and take.
Do you give more than you take?
That's right.
There you go.
You guys, I love you guys.
She did the same thing though.
Absolutely.
It's always been a wonderful,pleasant relationship.
You guys.
Look
at
this.

(22:42):
Look at this.
I love this.
I love this.
Clearly they're doing something right.
They still dress like each other, right?
Like, they coordinate.
They always
coordinate.
But it's like GQ.
You guys are the magazine.
I'm taking pictures away from you.
Let's get out of here.
Thank you guys so much.
Alright, Laura, what do we have here?

(23:03):
Hand selected.
I was at the rodeo this pastsummer and I said, by all
means, we need it in the market.
So, these are amazing.
So yummy.
If you need a little sweet treat, comesee Becky here at Whips and Becks.
Oh, you have a
great name.
Love it.
Yes, ma'am.
Gotta come try this.
And these
boxes are so cute.
Does this come with your purchase?

(23:25):
How cute is that?
Look at these.
So, you can put like asleeve of cookies in here?
Those are fun.
Hey, if you do have thoseDecember birthdays, we've
got a couple in our family.
She comes to the farmer's market too.
So you can get her atdifferent times of the year.
And here at the mini markets, too.
Some of them, right?
Yep.

(23:45):
So we, we just wrote in Becky.
Yes.
Yes.
Let's do it.
Thanks, Becks.
Becky.
Hello, Hillary.
Just go take like a hand shot of this.
These are her butterflies.
And she can explain so wellhow she sources them, but
everything is so ethical.
And just done the right way.

(24:07):
I don't even know howbetter to explain that.
It's just beautifulfrom all over the world.
It goes through extreme lengthsto make sure that they're sourced
ethically and everything else.
Right?
Yeah, yeah.
We do
all the pinning.
We do all the framing.
We make all the glass.
We make all the frames handmade.
Let me get in here.

(24:27):
Oh, come
on.
Yeah,
go
ahead.
So we do all of the pinning.
We cut all of the glass.
We make all of the frames.
So everything is start to finish from us.
Um, we source them from allover the world through apiaries.
So they'll breed them, and thenthey hold a few back, and then
we get them after they're done.
And the bats, they comefrom Southeast Asia.
And so, we can't kill our bats here.
They're ethically, or I'msorry, they're protected.

(24:48):
And so, they do controltheir bat population there.
So we benefit, and it's agive and take in that way.
And they're just, Idon't know, they're fun.
You get to see their teeth, andjust how mysterious they are.
Yes.
What?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But it's a I didn'twant nature to be scary.
I wanted it to just be presented.

(25:08):
And so, nature should just be presented.
I didn't want to do anything more to it.
Just add, add a box around it.
I
love it.
I love the bag.
That's the same position I sleep in.
I
would love
to hang upside down and just sleepwith like, back would feel better.
I know it's Christmas time, but Ifeel like you might need that to
add to your Halloween collection.
You should see this guy.
I love that bag.

(25:29):
No, it's not.
It really is done
beautifully.
But this is just so classy.
I love it.
I really
do.
And the color on these bluebutterflies is striking.
And we had an intuitive come in anddo a reading on all of the breeds.
So they all have a spiritualmessage with them too.
And we get a lot of storiesof, hey this butterfly showed

(25:50):
up after my father passed.
This butterfly reminded me ofmy grandmother when I saw her.
Like, so there's a lot of sentiment andnostalgia when it comes to butterflies.
Everyone has a story about them.
So, and then I just getto hug people all day.
Like I just love it.
Like I've had people leave crying.
We both were crying.
Cause it's just such fun story.
So you're getting to
do a therapy at the same time.
Yeah.
Well, I mean, it's reallyhealing for me too.

(26:11):
Yeah.
I'm just like, thank you.
I love loving on the people here.
I have to look behindyou here because again, I
know it's Christmas time.
So tell me what this is.
Ornaments.
We had, um, a bunch of extra wings, and then I had a tree that dropped its
acorns, and then I had ornaments thatdon't shatter, which, that's the most

(26:32):
frustrating part, is finding somethingpretty, but then if you have kids or pets,
they don't care, right, yeah, fragile.
I could bounce that off of theground and it would be fine.
Laura had
a butterfly release earlier in the summer.
No?
No?
This isn't, this

(26:52):
isn't the Leftovers event, right?
Okay, I'm just making sure.
I'm just, I'm just making sure.
I'm just making sure that we She'slike, it's not that event, though.
I'm not going
to attend that.
Yes, it was very, I'mjust messing with Laura.
It was a very well put togetherevent that her and Rachel,
her cousin, did both attend.
One over Inanity.
There's a butterfly release.

(27:12):
Beautiful.
Yeah.
It was all protected.
It was, yes.
I just, that's just me.
So
that explain, we get pollinatorsout into the world and this is a
beautiful way to still celebratethem after they've passed on.
Yeah.
I love that.
I love that.
A lot of, a lot ofsymbolism in butterflies.
Yes.
Lots.
A lot of
education.
I mean, kids, I love it whenkids come in because they don't
get to see them this close up.

(27:33):
No.
And parents are always like,be careful, but it's like.
Or,
or you see, you
see your, the regular, I'll just callit the normal, the regular butterfly.
You don't see these types.
Yeah,
not very often.
Yeah, you will never see these bigblue ones in your backyard here.
I love these.
But, you know, you can at least seemonarchs, like plant your milkweed, do
your wildflowers, you'll see a lot more.
But these really bright ones arefrom a different part of the world.

(27:56):
I love butterflies.
Yeah, absolutely.
We lived
in, uh, I lived in Torrance, nearTorrance, California, where there's one
of the only, you know the blue butterfly,it's a blue butterfly, and it's the
only place in the world where they are.
Wow.
Go out there.
Is that
why you had it tattooed across your back?
That's why I love you.
Okay, let's just take a picture.
Yay!
Did you see that tattoo?
Just take a picture of that.

(28:16):
Did you have a butterfly?
Where's
your
butterfly
tattoo?
She's got to have it.
I need a moth one.
You
should get a butterfly tattoo.
I need a moth one.
It's actually my nexttattoo and it'll be here.
Oh, yeah.
That'll be mine.
Just a full sleeve.
Put it on my shoulder.
I love it.
We've got to give Blanea hard time all the time.
Yeah, right?
Because he's always dishing it out to you.
This is great, though.
But they are beautiful.
We can't wait to come back next year.
Maybe you'll have that tattooand we'll come see you.

(28:38):
Yes, come see you here.
Alright, we're here with Marina and Laura, because Laura is Marina's mom, and you
are a big part of the farmer's markets.
I saw you all summer, andI saw you go from a sticker
shop to what else did you do?
Did you do a couple other things?
Oh my
gosh, no, I just, uh, I justhad the stickers and pins,

(28:58):
and now Snow cones, maybe?
No, my siblings do theOh, yeah, that's right.
That's right.
She subs for people, too.
She does.
I saw a lot of it.
She's everywhere.
But I gotta say that I, and I've mentionedthis before, I saw the birth of this.
Yes.
This business.
Yes.
Yip Yap Treats.
I love Treat shop.
Check out somebody's bags of you.
Yes.
Come
to
come and show us around.
Look at this here.
Now tell us how was the, how was itafter you got this business together?

(29:22):
It was, at first it was kind oflike, I wasn't sure how it was
going to go because dogs can be veryparticular, they're their own creatures
with their own minds, of course.
And every animal hastheir own preferences.
Mm-hmm . Mine will eat anythingunder the surface of the sun.
Yes.
Um, my neighbors will not.
Oh, got it.

(29:43):
And so.
Eventually, like, I did notstart with these recipes.
I started, the only classic onesthat I still have here are peanut
butter and apple oat, I believe.
Oh, and cheddar bacon.
Is there a dog thatdoesn't like peanut butter?
Yes, there is.
I have two at home.

(30:03):
No, you don't.
These two dogs will eat anything.
They'll eat the tires off the car,but they will eat peanut butter.
What about bacon cheddar?
They will eat bacon cheddar.
Nothing better than bacon.
So here's the thing.
When she started making these, Iwas seeing all the ingredients.
I was like, I'm gonna try that.
I mean shaggy, scooby, so you can, um.
Oh,
she's not messing around.

(30:25):
I've had a couple of these too.
You got a
couple
for me?
What you got for me over there?
I
mean, we can't call these doggytreats anymore because humans
are eating them, so here we are.
What I really liked is that if akid were to pick it up and eat it
or someone, you know, randomly wereto eat it, it's all natural, safe.

(30:45):
Natural ingredients.
Now my kids
like to eat all day, every day.
Now how much does this costcompared to regular food?
Because I'm
stuck at
home.
He's getting
some ideas.
You got a discount price for this?
For buying in bulk?
Because I'm down.
There you go kiddos.
I got the kids and the
dogs.
Just all at once.
Just line up their bowls.
I mean the kids eat offthe floor anyway, you know.
You're not wrong.

(31:06):
They're pulling dinnerout just to eat it up.
You're not wrong.
Sprinkle
meringue.
Little savages.
But these are, it really is good.
Afton, you want to try a piece?
I'm good.
It's like a little cookie.
No, that's all you.
No, it's not bad, it's not bad.
We've got the small treats and thenshe's got bigger ones over here.
We've got some on the tray.
Are those chocolate covered?
You can't give chocolate to dogs.

(31:26):
No, this is carob.
So, carob.
Carob.
Powder is a cacao alternative.
It's a completely separate plant butit tastes the same as dark chocolate.
So like pure cacao tastesalmost identical to carob.
Of course a lot of peoplestill can tell the difference.
Dogs maybe can't.
Right?
Well and people who, I had afriend in high school who was

(31:47):
deathly allergic to chocolate.
Like could not have it at all.
Not even have it in the same room as her.
And she would eat this a lot.
And she was the personthat I ultimately got.
the link from to get hercare of the one that I knew.
If there was an allergy problem, then if there would not be a
reaction, then it would go well.
Yeah, because dogs, theycould die from chocolate.

(32:10):
Oh, easily.
And they will eat
chocolate.
I've had dogs eat chocolate.
Toxic.
Yep, it's toxic.
I
had some dogs eat somespecial chocolate one time.
Oh no, that's a story.
It is.
Wait, it was in California.
Didn't Santa, didn't
Santa just say you were on the nice side?
This wasn't this year.
This was back in California days.
This was
back in California days.

(32:30):
I had a dog that gotsome special chocolate.
In California, it's legal, okay?
Okay.
We got the dog taken care of.
She had the best nightof her life, believe me.
But yeah, yeah, but It is toxic.
It is toxic.
Serious, serious note.
It is toxic.
It is.
And they will get into candy bars.
They'll get into anything.
So if they get into that though It's

(32:50):
fine.
It's safe.
I love that.
And you can even Like, you can smell it.
It smells like an Oreo, whichwas the inspiration for the name.
Wow.
Is this the same stuff that's inthe Pokemon Oreos across the way?
There might be a business idea there.
You've
built a network of farmers markets, but you're doing something here that's

(33:16):
I
love it.
I love it.
What else you got for Yip Yip Treats?
What's coming up?
What you got on the horizon for 2025?
I'm hoping to keep adding flavors.
Uh, I would also like to expandinto, like, dog safe ice creams.
So, using Greek yogurt bases and justexpanding that into, like, little
doggy ice creams throughout the summer.

(33:37):
We used to have a vendor thatdid them and it was really good.
My dog's favorite sweettreat at the end of the week.
Alright.
And it's, he was so sad.
He'll notice.
It's like a differentversion of a pup cup.
It is.
Right?
It's safer.
Pup cups contain whipped cream andthey contain sugars in the syrups.
And so I, I prefer to have like this.

(33:59):
Natural.
Greek Yogurt Natural Bake.
We're going to
be on the lookout for that.
So you're going to havethe fake chocolate flavor.
Oh yeah.
Not the special chocolate.
Not the special chocolate.
No, no.
Not here.
The fake chocolate flavor for the dogs.
Mhmm.
In an ice cream cup too?
Like that would be wild.
Why don't you come?
You can pop up.
I'll eat there.
You can come and have yourself likean ice cream sundae essentially.
Yeah.
Next year.

(34:20):
So have an ice
cream.
I'm switching to dog food.
Yeah.
I'm switching to dog food.
I mean.
It's probably healthier.
It is.
Yeah.
so much.
Maria.
Of course.
Oh man, I, hey, I'mreally, I'm really sincere.
Those dog treats, they're not bad.
They're not bad.
If they're cheap, if they become cheaperthan food, then I'm gonna have to, I'm

(34:42):
gonna have to weigh it out a little bit.
I might, well, you know what, Iprobably need to balance out some
life choices first, but thank youso much Laura Gaylord for that.
