typically we see with our low moisture process that the carpets are dry within an hour this is the Check a Pro radio show Check A Pro Joe has assembled a team of pre-qualified Home Service contractors to bring you the latest in Services products and techniques now here's your host the man with a hard hat and tool belt check a pro Joe many of us enjoy the comfort of carpet in our homes I have a fair amount of wall-to-wall carpeting in my home I actually just.. 0:28 love it especially when I do things like 0:32 this in my home studio I actually love 0:34 to have carpet because it reduces the 0:36 echo so some people have carpet for a 0:38 warm cozy feeling some people have it 0:40 because they want it to be quiet in 0:43 their home but you've got to keep the 0:45 carpet cleaned on a regular basis one of 0:48 the biggest complaints that I've heard 0:51 about from homeowners is it takes too 0:53 long for that carpet to dry I have asked 0:57 an expert Eric Olson he's the owner of 1:00 safe and soft carpet cleaning in Boise 1:02 Idaho Eric how are you I'm great Joe how 1:05 are you fantastic I know you guys just 1:08 have great passion for what you do 1:10 you're a family owned and operated 1:11 carpet cleaning business in Boise Idaho 1:13 you're a co-owner of the company you and 1:16 your wife own the company yes this 1:18 question comes up all the time how long 1:20 will it take for my carpet to dry we as 1:22 homeowners are very impatient and we 1:24 have pets and we have children and we 1:26 want this to be done as quickly as 1:28 possible how long does it take for the 1:31 carpet to dry when you guys come into 1:32 the home and thoroughly clean the 1:34 carpets that is a great question but 1:36 that's a usually uh not the easiest to 1:39 answer because sometimes it varies it 1:41 depends depends on how dirty the carpet 1:43 is depends on what method we use to 1:45 clean the carpet but typically we see 1:48 with our little moisture process that 1:50 the carpets are dry within an hour a lot 1:53 of times when other people run into 1:55 other or use other carpet cleaners and 1:57 it takes you know four to eight 1:59 sometimes 24 hours 48 hours you know a 2:02 couple days it's because the the cleaner 2:05 has used the too high of a pressure and 2:07 they just have not recovered enough of 2:08 the water it's pushed it down into the 2:09 pad and their system is just not able to 2:11 recover all that water so a lot of times 2:15 as long as there's good air circulation 2:17 sometimes in basements it takes longer 2:19 but typically it's dry within an hour as 2:22 long as the temperatures are between 60 2:24 and 70 and there's good air circulation 2:26 what are the downsides to the carpet 2:28 taking longer than an hour to dry so 2:31 again another great question 2:33 um with that a lot of times it's mold 2:35 that would be an issue things that Wick 2:38 back up from underneath the carpet so a 2:41 lot of times if the carpet's left wet 2:43 for so long but as it dries the soils 2:46Dateline NBC
