(00:00):
Hey sister, welcome to the War on Weight. Do you want to find the motivation
to finally lose that extra weight?
Do you want to feel great in your favorite pair of jeans?
Do you want some weight loss that is actually sustainable?
Do you want to feel good about how you're treating your good body?
Have you given up that any program will ever work for you?

(00:21):
Hi, I'm Keetha and I'm your new best friend.
I've spent a lifetime on the losing side of this battle. all.
I know what it feels like to be confused as to which food plan to follow,
how to exercise in a way that honors my good body.
I know what it feels like to feel prisoner to food and emotional eating and
still not be able to see how God fits into it all.

(00:41):
I felt frustrated, exhausted, self-conscious, and despite any success I had
in life, I felt like a failure. But I've won the war.
How did I do it? I discovered how to implement simple healthy habits,
how to revamp my mindset, and how to to embrace some of the things that were
causing me to turn to food over and over again.
Lastly, I discovered how to make nutrition super simple. And after a few short

(01:03):
months of fueling my body properly, I dropped more than 50 pounds as a daughter of the king.
And I'm maintaining it by all the healthy habits you're going to learn on this podcast.
So if you're tired of feeling like a prisoner in your own body,
you're buying clothes to hide your body.
You're done with having your weight affect all the relationships in your life
with God, others and mainly yourself.

(01:24):
You no longer ever want to eat your feelings and then beat yourself up
about it and you're ready to allow Jesus to take charge of
every part of your life including your food and your
movement then this is the podcast for you let's armor up sister and fight this
war on weight together so in that intro you hear me say do you just want to
feel great your favorite pair of jeans hey let's talk about that today shall

(01:46):
we let's chat about bathing suits jean season yep it's that time.
I think most of us think about fall as jean season, as summer as bathing suit season.
As we approach summer, I say thank you, Jesus, for the sunshine,
the beach waves, the Southern fun, the festivals, playing in the garden,

(02:09):
all the things that we love about summer.
But I bet for some of you, I bet there's this little bit of dread.
No more sweaters, sweatshirts, leggings to hide the things that you don't like about your body.
This is where that I want to feel great in my favorite pair of jeans and summer intersect.
Because I also want you to help feel great in your favorite pair of shorts,

(02:32):
feeling confident in your bathing suit, going to the pool and to the beach.
So I want you to start with this thought. Your body is good.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with it just the way it is.
As women, we have these very visible measuring sticks that compare ourselves
with and compete compete in our minds.
And can I say this AI thing, in my personal opinion, is absolutely killing us all.

(02:58):
It might be fun to play with it in your favorite app, but it's just so harmful. It's unrealistic.
And it makes us feel so inadequate and like we can never achieve that.
I know I recently did one of one that's the, like does the aging forward.
Oh my gosh, I was like, Like, I'm stunning.
That's not reality. That is not what I'm going to look like at 75 years old.

(03:23):
So let's start with a reality check. You may or may not like this exercise,
but it's going to be a good one.
I want you to stand in front of the mirror, either in your favorite pair of
jeans or in the swimsuit that you'd like to wear this summer.
I want you to be very kind and with a very realistic perspective.

(03:45):
I want you to list the things that you like that you see about your body.
And I want you to list either in your mind on a piece of paper the things you love about your body.
And then evaluate what you're wearing. Are you wearing a pair of jeans that flatters your body?
Or did you go to Walmart and pick up a pair of jeans
in the teeny bopper section and think these look

(04:07):
young and fun and that's what I want to be and you tried to squeeze yourself
into them in this junior cut and you're like me in menopause hello are they
the right cut for you that you're what you're wearing or are they the wrong
size do they need to be smaller do they need to be bigger.
Not looking at the label, it doesn't matter because every pair of jeans that

(04:30):
you buy doesn't matter what the label says.
We need to cut them out because every seems like every manufacturer,
every designer has a completely different size in mind.
So just look at the pants. Look at the jeans.
Are the right thing. Back in the episode I did with Celie Cauley around organizing
your closet, we talked about getting rid of clothes that you don't feel good in.

(04:55):
Remember how we started this with, do you just want to feel great in your favorite pair of jeans?
Well, first of all, those favorite pair of jeans need to fit you.
Okay? So after you do this reality check, I want you to say,
does this swimsuit or jeans, is this really what I want to consider my favorite?

(05:16):
Or have you been trying to fit yourself into something that just doesn't fit you anymore?
It's not where you are in life. It doesn't serve you well. You don't feel good
in them. You don't feel confident in them.
You know, I know we're walking on a really, really fine line here.
But is there something about your body that you'd like to change?

(05:36):
As you're looking, think about that. You know, make sure it's feasible.
Sister, stretch marks don't go away no matter what you do short of surgery.
And sometimes they don't go away then.
So this morning, I did this very same exercise with myself. So I'm not asking
you ever on this podcast to do anything I haven't done myself.
So last summer, I bought this July 4th bathing suit.

(05:59):
And if you've been listening, you know that last July, I was in the middle of a horrible binge storm.
I had put on some weight and when that suit arrived, let's just say it was not flattering.
And for all the wrong, all the reasons above, it was the wrong size, it was the wrong style.
And it just wasn't where I was at the time. So no matter what I did in that

(06:20):
moment, I would not be able to wear that suit.
Not beating myself up. I could have forced myself to wear it and been so self-conscious
that it would steal my joy.
It just wasn't the solution that was going to bring change in my body, mind, or spirit.
Because sometimes when we wear things that aren't flattering and we don't feel
good in, it just puts us in a bad mental space.

(06:41):
So that doesn't set us up to make healthy choices for our bodies going forward.
It sets us up to go home and say, I don't care anymore and eat a brownie.
And that's not serving you well.
So I put it away, tag still intact. And I did almost send it back.
But I stopped myself and said, once I'm in a better place, I might like this maiden suit.

(07:03):
So today I put that suit on. I was so excited. I whipped it out.
And I had this sense of dread at first.
Because I was like, what's it going to look like? So I stood in front of the
mirror and I asked myself these questions.
What do I like about what I see? Is this appropriate style for me?
Is it the right size for me? Is this the July 4th slash Memorial Day swimsuit I want to wear?

(07:29):
What could I change to make this suit the one I want to wear confidently on
Memorial Day or July 4th?
Here's my result. I like that I'm at a healthier weight. I like that this swimsuit
covers up the things I cannot change no matter what size I am.
I like that it shows off my curves in an age-appropriate way.
Yes, it's a good style for me. Yes, it's the right size.

(07:53):
Yes, I'd like to wear this on one of these holidays. Can you tell this bathing
suit must be a red, white, and blue thing?
Like, I'm only going to wear it on a holiday, I think.
What could I, and then the final question was, what could I change to make me
feel confident in this suit?
The truth is, I'm still up 15 pounds from my last back surgery.
And that weight has to come off, not out of vanity, but physically,

(08:16):
I have to lose that weight.
Taking that extra 15 pounds off my joints could be surgery preventing, injury preventing.
It actually is going to make me be able to function better in life.
Losing that extra weight also is probably going to reduce the part of my stomach
that I didn't think that was so flattering in that suit.

(08:39):
So will I wear that suit now? No, because I realized that when I'm wearing this suit,
I don't feel like it's flattering and I'm a little bit self-conscious and that
opens my mind up for negative self-talk that does not come from a heavenly place.
If I wear pants that I feel like that have a bulge over the top when I pass the mirror.

(09:02):
I sometimes can still instantly picture the day that I read a letter from someone
that said, and I had to look at that muffin top on you for years.
Why does that come in my mind so many years later?
Or I think I look like a hot dog and I'm about to bust. And when I'm wearing
shapewear to make me look better, the thoughts come even worse.

(09:26):
I have learned this about myself. I need to be authentically me.
I need to be comfortable in the clothes I wear. I need to be comfortable in my own body.
So I have to work really hard to capture any of these negative thoughts that
come about because they come quickly, rapidly, and out of nowhere sometimes.
I've also had to accept that the enemy is always trying to steal my joy and

(09:48):
peace, and that's never going to stop. So what do I do?
What can I do to combat these thoughts?
You know, it's just hard sometimes, but we have to capture them,
and we have to change them, and we have to love our bodies because they are
wonderfully and beautifully made.

(10:08):
I've also said many times on this podcast, there's nothing wrong with wanting
to lose weight and feel good in your body, but it's our motive behind it.
Can you see how I looked at the swimsuit and my body from a point of ability, not vanity?
Like I, the reason that I want to lose this extra weight, my biggest why is
because I want to protect my back after four back surgeries in 11 months.

(10:31):
And then a recent scare with having injury, praise Jesus for healing.
But it was a scare it was scared me enough to remind me that I have to take
care of my good body so I want to make sure that when I'm ready to wear this
holiday suit so to speak that my,

(10:52):
motive behind it is is good it's not that I want to look great or get more compliments at the beach,
you know I would like to be cute in a swimsuit we all do there's nothing wrong
with that you can can still be a godly woman and want to feel good about the way that you look.
But if there's one thing I could magically get each of you to see is that you

(11:14):
are wonderfully and perfectly made.
You should love the body that God's given you and take care of it in a love, kind, and caring way.
If I was going to coach you on this one-to-one and you came on a call with me
and said, yeah, I've got four kids. I'm 60 pounds overweight.
I haven't worked out in 10 years, But I want to wear this bikini to the beach
this year so my husband or my boyfriend will pay more attention to me.

(11:40):
Sister, I'm going to pour a lot of love on you, and then we're going to get to work.
First step of that would be, I'm going to ask you to lay down the bikini idea
for a while, and let's find a suit that works for you for this summer.
Because you're not going to lose 60 pounds in three months. It's just not going
to happen. It's not going to be healthy. It's not going to be sustainable.

(12:01):
So we'll say, let's lay down the bikini for this year and shoot for that bikini next year.
If in fact after we get done doing the work you still want to wear the bikini,
and then we're going to look at the reasons
that you've been either obsessing over your weight and your looks
and the scale or why you've been neglecting
your body because there's that pendulum between obsessing and

(12:22):
neglecting if you're like me with disordered eating I have always swung to the
obsessing I mean to the neglecting side and then I would say majority of the
time in the the neglecting side of that pendulum and then obsessing side until
the point to where I would give up and then I'd go back to neglecting.
Next thing we're going to look at is your water intake.

(12:45):
We're going to look at your current diet and don't even scream at the whatever
you're listening to this. If you're in your car, don't scream and say diet.
She's got a talk diet. Remember what I've taught you.
Your diet is what you habitually put into your body.
That's it. That's all the word diet means.
And then the last thing we're going to look at is how can you move your body

(13:06):
in love? You've not worked out in 10 years. We're not going to start by hardcore.
What is that place called? The bootcamp place? I don't even remember right now.
We're not going to start there. We're going to start by moving your body in
love because you haven't moved in 10 years.
So we're going to start there. And you've also been living in your life dehydrated.

(13:26):
You can't make good decisions. decisions, you're not getting good rest,
like all those things. We're going to look at all those to begin with.
We're just going to start simple and start taking your health to the next level.
Ideally, I would walk you through my eight-week course. It's the weight loss
battle plan where we lose what's weighing us down so we can lose weight and
feel great in our bodies.

(13:49):
Ideally, you'd go all in, doing the course, setting up all your weekly appointments with me.
You would learn to experience the love of God and gain knowledge around nutrition
and movement and hydration and the way God designed us to be.
I would hope you would consider it.
Now, I don't want you to use the cost of the program as another way to say,

(14:10):
woe is me, I can't do this, I can't afford it, I'm gonna be fat forever, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Please don't get mad at me for saying that, but it's just the truth.
If there's one thing I've learned in three years of coaching,
money is never the real issue, it's fear. fear.
And here on The Warren Weight, love is greater than fear. I'm going to help

(14:32):
you walk past the fear of failure,
past the fear of this will never work for me, past the fear of I'm always going
to be uncomfortable in my body. We're going to work past that.
You know, money is not the issue. It just isn't.
I could go through your budget and show you where you could easily come up with

(14:53):
the money to do a coaching program, do any kind of weight loss program that that you want it to do.
I find that coaching through this program with you is different is that I'm
going to show you that love is greater than your fears.
But I got good news for you. If you're still saying, oh, no,
money's the issue for me.

(15:13):
For the very first time, I'm going to offer the eight-week course as a group
program, and it's by donation only.
So that means whatever you can afford, whatever whatever that looks like.
You will have to purchase a book and a basic notebook at a minimum.
But I can help you with that too. I can show you how to get a used book,

(15:34):
I can get you an extra book, like I can help you get through it.
We're talking a $25 investment.
So pros to the group, money is no longer your issue.
You're going to get some support of other women in the small group as you walk
through the journey together.
You know, cause to it is that there's no one to one coaching at at your convenience.

(15:54):
The weekly meetings are going to be hosted to discuss, you know,
to have the weekend coaching calls are going to be at a set time.
So for you to participate, you're going to have to make that time work.
When you're doing the one-to-one coaching with me, you set it at your schedule.
So this is the time where you're going to get all your questions answered.
You're going to have discussion time.
You will have an option to purchase some sessions at a discounted price if you

(16:18):
get stuck at a time and need to work on one area.
And then another con is that you're only going to have access to the course
during the week that you're working on.
In the one-to-one program, you get lifetime access to the program.
So you can go back, repeat it, do the eight weeks over again.
This I can't change for you. So I suggest that you join the group and then hold

(16:38):
fast to your commitment and you can get through it and you're going to make great change.
And so So all you have to do to join the group that I'm going to be doing for
the, it starts on April the 29th, and we're in 2024, is join the Healthy Habits 101 group.
And all the registration information is going to be posted in there.
This gets you connected into implementing some healthy habits right away.

(17:03):
Even if you don't choose to do the eight-week course, I do a lot of activity in that group.
Like I provide you all the resources that you need to start moving your body
in a healthy way all the nutrition Information that you need to start fueling your body correctly.
We do a lot of mindset work We do breathing work lots of things happen over
there So trust me in every way you honor god and how you're taking care of your body.

(17:29):
He's gonna bless you I'll see you over in the facebook group where i'm gonna
post that holiday suit picture today along with the suit that I actually wore
to the beach today because it wasn't time for the holiday suit.
