We're both in the inclusion, diversity, equity and
accessibility space, and believein the importance of recognizing our
own ancestry, our social locationand where we live, work, and play.
So, I want to recognize that I am awhite settler of Scottish British and
culturally French Canadian descent bornon the unceded traditional territory

of the Algonquin Anishinabe nation.
Now known as Ottawa.
For the past decade, I've beenvery grateful to live, work and
play in Tkarón:to or Toronto.
And Pride at Work Canada's offices arebased and located here in Tkarón:to as well.
Toronto is covered by Treaty13, signed with the Mississaugas
of the Credit and the WilliamsTreaty signed with multiple

Mississauga and Chippewa bands.
These lands and waters are thetraditional homes and territories
of and cared for by the Anishinabek, Huron-Wendat, Chippewa,
Haudenosaunee, and theMississaugas of the Credit First Nation.
Today, Toronto is home to IndigenousAfro-Indigenous and Urban Indigenous
people from across Turtle Island.
I believe in the importance of supportingIndigenous resurgence, doing our own

decolonization work and supporting effortsof Indigenous resurgence throughout
Turtle Island, but also where I call home.

And from Edmonton, Treaty Six, homelands
of the Métis people, the Cree, the DeneSaulteaux, Nakota Sioux and Blackfoot.
We would like to acknowledgeand thank the diverse
Indigenous peoples whose footsteps havemarked this territory for centuries.
It is a welcoming place for allpeoples who come from around the
world to share Edmonton as a home.
