What we need is more common sense, more common We got used old breaking
down the world's nonsense about pow Americancommon sense. We'll see us through with
the common sense of Houston. I'mjust pro common sense for Houston. From
Houston dot Com. This is theJimmy Barrett Show, brought to you by

(00:27):
Viewin dot Com. Now here's JimmyBarrett. All right, let's start with
some good news today. There's alittle campaign. Um, it's been airing
here on KPRC. I think Ithink, I'm pretty sure I'm the one
that bosted for the one here onKPRC. Plus we you know, we
did lives over on KTRH and MichaelBarry did a recorded one in KTRH and
AM radio stations all around the country. I got involved in this text Congress

(00:52):
campaign. Um, there was aplan for several of the automakers to start
removing AM radio from their vehicle, and they're going to start with evs because
there evidently is a I don't know, I don't drive any V but evidently
there is a nasty hum that comesthrough when you try to listen to AM
radio on electric vehicle from the battery. And so they decided that what they

(01:17):
were going to do is they weregoing to eliminate AM radio from EVS and
several other models, and of courseyou could see that this might potentially be
the beginning of the end for AMradio and vehicles, which is pretty pretty
crucial for stations like ours because weare although we do have an HD two
band on FM, AM is stillthe primary way that most people listen to

(01:41):
this show in this station, andit doesn't bode well for our future.
If you can hear us, it'sI mean, there are the means to
get us. They're streaming in otherways to get us, but it makes
it the job that much more difficult, especially when you're dealing with weather situations.
So I'm glad to see though thatwe're not that we weren't the only

(02:01):
station that was working on this campaign, and I'm very very happy to see
that has had some impact. Thiscame out just a little bit ago from
the CEO of Ford Motor Company. His name is Jim Farley, who wrote,
after speaking with policy leaders about theimportance of AM broadcast radio as part
of the emergency alert system, we'vedecided to include it in all twenty twenty

(02:23):
four Ford and Lincoln vehicles. Forany owners of Ford evs without AM broadcast
capability, we'll offer a software update. Customers can currently listen to AM radio
content and a variety of ways inour vehicles, including via streaming, and
we will continue to innovate to delivereven better in vehicle entertainment and emergency notification
options in the future. Thanks toour product development and manufacturing teams for a

(02:46):
quick response to make this change forour customers. Now, this is not
a guarantee of AM radio going forward. It's a guarantee for twenty twenty four,
the twenty twenty four modeled year, which are the vehicles that are being
produced what I would assume they're inproduction by now because they come out in
September, so I'm guessing they're inproduction now, so there will be AM

(03:08):
radio on those vehicles. But it'sno guarantee for twenty six, twenty seven,
so on and so on. Sothis is something we'll have to keep
an eye out. They're the onlyon a manufacturer, so hard to respond,
so we'll see if the other onescome along and they respond. But
at least as of right now,at least it would appear that the campaign
has had some sort of an impact, and I'm glad to see that.

(03:30):
Now Here, we got another thingthat I find very interesting, very very
interesting, the Surgeon General the UnitedStates, but Vec Murthy says social media
use needs a warning. Hang on, We're gonna get a surgeon general's warning
about social media, Yes we are. They released a report today calling attention

(03:54):
to growing concerns about the effects ofsocial media use on children and adolescents mental
health. The advisory urges lawmakers andsocial media platforms to help parents with the
burden of managing children's social media use. Hang on, let me repeat that

(04:14):
part. The advisory urges lawmakers andsocial media platforms to help parents with the
burden of managing children's social media use. In other words, these parents can't
monitor their kids on their own. We're going to have to make sure that
we have laws to protect them, and we're gonna to make sure that we
have responsible social media companies to protectthem as well. Well. Good luck.

(04:40):
I'm getting cooperation from the social mediapeople themselves. Let's face it,
they do everything they can to enticeyoung people. Young people are their future.
Where would TikTok be without young people? Do you think there's any way,
TikTok is going to try to policeitself. Certainly not oh, it
goes surgeon. In general. Warninggoes on to say us between the ages

(05:03):
of thirteen and seventeen say they usea social media platform, and a third
say they're scrolling, posting, orotherwise engaged in social media almost constantly,
almost constantly between the ages of thirteenand seventeen, So definitely sounds like an

(05:24):
up feel battle to me, whatabout to you? It's rice curbing social
media use. I have self police, but I'm a grown ass man.
I'm an adult. I have noproblem policing myself when I get to the
be to the point of consuming toomuch. You know, I think I
think social media is like anything elsein life in that we really seem to

(05:44):
have a hard time, do wenot finding a happy medium. It's like
eating and drinking and just about everythingelse we do in life. It seems
like moderation is a term that we'vekind of lost contact with. We don't
seem to do anything in moderation anymore. If we eat, we eat too
much or we don't eat enough. If we drink, we drink too much.

(06:05):
If we post on social media,we post too much. We allow
it to rule our day and tokeep us busy constantly going back to the
well. I don't know how youcure that. I'm beginning to think that
it's it's a basic human trait tojust be addicted to something. Are we
all addicted to something? At thispoint? Is it safe to say that

(06:27):
we all have our addictions? It'sjust a matter what they are. That
there's there's there's virtually nobody left anymore. They can do anything in moderation.
Because you show me some person who'smoderate, moderate, and just about everything
they do, I guarantee I canfind something they do too much, way,
way, way too much. Allright, quick little break back with
burn a moment Jimmy Barnshaw. Butthank you again, by the way for

(06:48):
the AGAM radio thing. Appreciate that. Keep the good fight going. Let's
make sure that we get not justforward for the rest of the automakers to
kick it as well and keep AMradio alive. Back with born a moment
on AM nine fifty KPRC. Allright, it is it today or tomorrow

(07:17):
that Governor Rond de Santis is announcinghis presidential run. I can't remember it's
this week it's this week for sure, it might be tomorrow. Yesterday,
Senator Tim Scott announced that he isrunning. He who of course is the
is one of the setting senators fromthe state of South Carolina. Interesting guy,
very interesting man, self made man, grew up in South Carolina.

(07:44):
I don't want to say himpoverish, because I don't know that impoverished would be
technically accurate. He didn't certainly didn'tgrow up with with a lot of advantages.
His grandfather was a slave, sohe was really the first educated black
man and his family and very hardworking man and somebody who obviously was brought

(08:07):
up with a pretty impressive set ofvalues because he never blamed his lot in
life on things like racism and infact set out to prove that you can
come from any background and you canlive the American dream. And I would
have to say it's pretty obvious heis. I mean, he's a sitting
senator from South Carolina. He isan announced now presidential candidate. That's pretty

(08:31):
impressive. I don't care who youare. That's pretty impressive. And you
would like to think just about everybodywould take a look at that and say,
see, see, the opportunity isthere for those who are willing to
work hard. The opportunity is therefor those who are willing to take chances.
The opportunity is there for people whoare willing to get educated and do
the right thing. So let's startwith this. This is I will warn

(08:52):
you, I will warn you. This was his announcement. He's doing it
from a very friendly crowd, andit's very enthusiastic. It's almost Do you
remember when Howard Dean had that littlebit of a scream meltdown kind of thing
after he lost a primary and theywere moving on to another one, and
then he's kind of shouting into themicrophone. Senator Scott comes very close to

(09:15):
this. He doesn't quite get there, that goodness, but he comes fairly
close. Here is Senator Tim Scottannouncing his twenty twenty four run. Joe
Biden and the radical Left are attackingevery single rung of the ladder that helped
me climb. And that's why I'mannouncing today. But I'm running for president

(09:39):
of the United States? Is itAmerica? A difference in how we communicate.
There's no question that my life disprovesthe lies of the radical left,
their culture of victimhood. Is eatingaway yet the soul of America. I
understand brokenness. I understand having lowesteem, I understand nearly failing out of

(10:01):
school. But I also understand thatwe do not live in a nation of
grievance. We live in a nationof greatness. So allowing the life story
to impact how we share the gospelof good news, of conservative values,
conservative principles with the American people, that's the power of persuasion. Having lived

(10:22):
the story myself, I believe thatmakes me uniquely qualified to push back on
the radical left. Can a happywarrior prevail in an environment given the mood
of the country and the primary voters. Absolutely, everywhere I travel around the
country, from Iowa to New Hampshire, throughout South Carolina, people are starving

(10:43):
for hope. They're starving for somethingoptimistic. But they have to know you
have a backbone and you're talking aboutconservative values, conservative principles, and conservative
policies. When people understand that youcan be both yes, optimistic, but
strong with a backbone, they areattracted to this campaign, and so we're

(11:03):
hoping to get across this country tocontinue to share our message. You can
go to vote Timscott dot com toget involved. Okay, So that is
Senator Tim Scott making his announcement.A little follow up the same evening with
the Trey Gotti, who's a fellowSouth Carolinian and a big fan of Senator
Tim Scott, and I like theterm he use happy warrior. Maybe maybe

(11:24):
Tim Scott will be one of,if not the most positive candidates who are
running. Not that I don't thinkthat Trump can be positive. He can
be, although sometimes you lose sightof the positiveness just because of the way
he fights back against his opponents. And one would assume that we not get
begun to see that until Ron DeSantismakes his announcement. I don't think anybody

(11:48):
takes a look at at a TimScott or of Evec Ramaswamy or any of
the other ones running for the Republicannomination and takes that super serious. I
guess stranger things have happened, butyou know they really. Basically, it's
a two horse race when you getright down to it, it's Trump,

(12:09):
and I would assume it's Trump's nominationto lose, and it's also Rhonda Santis
and right now de Santis is wayway way behind Trump. Not that something
couldn't happen to change all that somethinggood. But the Trump camp doesn't strike
me as going anywhere. They lovethis guy. They love the fact that
he is an outsider. He's stillan outsider. He's an outsider within his

(12:33):
own party. Nobody in his ownparty wants him to run, or at
least very few want him to run. Certainly none of the establishment want him
to run. Okay, so youwould think that even even liberals, if
you're a person of color, evenif you're a liberal, you would like

(12:54):
to thank You could say, youknow, I'll I don't like his policies.
I can't really vote for me becauseI don't like his policies, but
I will give the devil his due. Senator Tim Scott is a genuine American
success story. He is somebody whopulled himself up by his bootstraps, got
a great education, has made somethingof himself, and now he's going to
run for president of the United States. Isn't that a great story. But

(13:18):
as you can imagine, the ladieson the view couldn't. They couldn't go
there. They couldn't. They couldn'tthey couldn't allow themselves to compliment him in
any way. Shape or form.So here is the view. Talking about
Tim Scott in his announcement was somereaction at the other end from great gut
Bilt in Janine Pierro, he cameout and did that dog whistle victim hood.

(13:41):
As soon as you're saying that, you know what he's talking about.
I didn't like that. He seemsto think because I made it, everyone
can make it, ignoring again thefact that he is the exception and not
the rule. And until he isthe rule he has then he can stop
talking about systems class Thomas God,what an inner circle of hell. That

(14:03):
is the fact that that, ifit's the judge, the fact that you
say, don't be a victim, you know, being is somehow a dog
whistle for racism, and that successis the exception and not the rule.
That's what they said. And theyare not white women there. They've been
very sickly, so they are theexception. What have they been doing for
the past forty years? Yeah,But the truth is everything that's being said

(14:24):
now is not about reality. It'snot about truth anymore. It's all about
party. Okay. If they didn'thave a political letter on them, they
could have been they could have beensupporting him and saying, look to the
African American community, you can comeliterally from slavery and be a United States
senator run for president. They're sohateful. I've never seen a group so

(14:45):
hateful as the group on the view. And they say the Republican Party is
rarely diverse. Well, wait aminute, We've got Vivic Ramaswami running for
president. We've got Nicky Haley runningfor president. We've got Tim Scott running
for president. Who do you have? An old guy and everyone one is
afraid to run against him, anold white guy. Yeah. On top
of that, they're propping up anold white guy and calling them Republicans racist.

(15:07):
And I guess they assume that Vivekand Tim Scott are all the new
faces of white supremacy. Tilt exactlywhat did they say about the Lieutenant governor
of Virginia that she was Was ita black mouthpiece for white nationalism or something
like that? You can't win.You can't win with them. I you
know, Tim is a good friend. I really like him, and I

(15:28):
wish him very well as he pursuesthis. But speaking about the Democrats and
the DNC, if you listen tothem, there is no primary, there
is no opposition. Yep, that'ssulta gathered by the way at the end
there, And you know, Imean, what a great point Jane Peri
makes there though, about the peoplewho are running for the Republican nomination.
You have an Indian American. Doyou have an African American? You have

(15:50):
you have an Indian American. Notthat any of them, by the way,
need to have a hyphen native name. I think they all just consider
themselves Americans. They don't need thehyphernative. But I'm just trying to point
out that with the exception of DeSantisand Trump, there's a there's a lot
of ethnicities that are that are beingrepresented represented by the by the Republicans who
are running. You don't see that. On the other side. You got

(16:12):
one old white guy and the onlyperson who's even been mentioned as a possibility
for stepping in in an emergency islike a Gavin Newsom, which is a
younger white guy. Where's their diversity. Not that I care about diversity.
I care about getting somebody in theoffice who could do a great job.
But but they're they're being criticized forsomething that they're guilty of themselves. The

(16:36):
hypocrites are on the left on thisone. I'm sorry. All right.
One more though, and this isa legitimate point. This comes from Charlie
Kirk. He was on Megan Kelly'spodcast and he was talking about how the
Republicans, well, right now, there's just not there's not a culture of
winning. In fact, he saysthat Brunna Romney McDaniel is a loser.

(16:57):
He comes right on the calls aloser, and it's hard. It's hard
to fight him on this when thereare so many things Republicans should it need
to be doing before the next electionif they want to have a fighting chance.
Here's Charlie Kirk. I think Ronis a very sweet person. I
think she should go run for Congress. She's always been very good to me.
But she's a loser. She hasshe has overseen losing election after losing

(17:19):
election, and there's always an excuse, right rather be twenty eighteen, twenty
twenty two, twenty two, there'salways an excuse. I think that in
business, in anything, after sixyears of failure, you've got to make
a chance. You have to sayyou're done, We're going to find somebody
new. Let's get some fresh thinking. The Democrats. They've gone all in
and they did this post COVID,and they were very smart. They were

(17:40):
very treacherous, but they were verystrategic. And parts of this, little
crumbs of this were articulated in MollyBall's article, the Time magazine article the
Secret Campaign or the Shadow Campaign thatsaved the two twenty election, where they
talk about this party infrastructure through nonprofitgroups and activist groups and legal groups,
lawfare that not just manipulated, butthey've really taken the sexiness out of politics,

(18:03):
where it's not about candidate selection,it's not even always about debate or
messaging or popularity. It's about theboring stuff of politics. The clipboard and
Tennis Sho's type of work, thevoter registration, the ballot chasing, and
the machinery. And my evidence thatI submit is that they are able to
get somebody who should not be aUS Senator John Fetterman to beat a very

(18:25):
qualified candidate and incredibly smart man,a mement Oz Oz should be the US
Senator from Pennsylvania. How is thatpossible? Well, some people say it's
because of abortion. That might bepartially true, but it's mostly true because
the Democrats have built an incredibly wellfunded and bulletproof type machine that registers their
low prop voters and gets people tovote early and gets their mail in ballots

(18:49):
in and we as Republicans, havedone none of that infrastructure. And I
can say that as someone who livesin Arizona. It's basically a major hope
campaign. Well, I hope we'regonna win. I hope, we just
have a an ability to get ourvoters out. And the RNC does not
have the sophistication, does not havethe commitment to this kind of grassroots work.
They're headquartered in Washington, DC,they're consultant heavy. Forty to fifty

(19:11):
percent of all the money they raisegoes towards raising more money actually, And
so my argument is this, wehave to downsize the RNC and we have
to get back to a culture ofwinning. Okay, don't disagree with anything
he said. And you know we'vebeen talking about that for months and months
and months, especially when there wasan opportunity to used run set I should

(19:34):
say, Romney McDaniel. And itdidn't. It didn't work. It didn't
work. They didn't they didn't changemake a change at the top. There.
They're just going on the same paththey always do, which doesn't make
me, despite what's going on withthis current administration, does not make me
personally feel very competent for the chancesfor the Republican Party in twenty twenty four.
All right, back with Morena moment, Jimmy Barrett Show a nine fifty

(19:56):
KPRC. All right, let's doa little Biberus segment today. Talk a
little bit about the FBI whistle blowerin this case, Garretto Boiled, Garrettle

(20:19):
Boil and one of the other onesI forget his name off the top of
my head, and have gone kindof gone out of their way to make
themselves available to talk about their FBIexperience. And I think Garretto Boyle is
a perfect example of what happens. The whistle blower program was set up with
the idea that when you see thingsgoing on that are illegal or unfair,

(20:42):
whatever they may be, that youcan go through the proper channels and you
can report this stuff and they willprevent retaliation from happening to you. But
the reality is is that despite youhave these people coming forward, despite guarantees
of protection, they're not they're notbeing protected. They're not being protected.

(21:03):
Have they been fired, No,they've not been fired. They being paid
No? Are they suspended? Yes? Are they have been subjected to things
worse than suspension? Yes. Andwe'll get into the worse than suspension party
in this a half a second. But this is whistleblower garrett O Boyle,
who was on Fox last night talkingabout what his life has been like since

(21:27):
he'd made the decision to become awhistleblower. I really started to feel the
retaliation the day I got suspended.I was completely unaware that that was coming,
and then that was going to happen. As I testified, I had
been selected for a new specialty unitin the Quantico region. And when I

(21:51):
after we sold our house and hadour youngest daughter and began to move across
the country. When I reported forduty on that first day, I was
promptly suspended, and that that isreally when the retaliation began. I had
been with the FBI just about fouryears when I was suspended, and in

(22:15):
total, I've served this country ormy community for fourteen years. And yeah,
some of the things we testified aboutinclude, you know, just a
reasonable belief that the FBI is intentionallymishandling investigations, including padding statistics on how

(22:36):
they represent facts to Congress, anda number of other issues like the Domestic
Violent Extremism Symbols Guide that I testifiedto, And there's a number of number
of things that we can talk aboutregarding concern that not only US whistle blowers,
but many employees in the FBI have. It certainly appears that it's a

(22:59):
two tier system, and it's it'sin favor of one political leaning over the
other, and inside the agency, from my view as a Lion agent,
it is many of us saw thesethings, similar things to what you're you
just mentioned, and yeah, statrot it is at the headquarters level,
it is at the top. Iwould estimate probably twenty percent of the agency,

(23:23):
the senior executive staff level, andhonestly, it's probably not even all
of them, just a lion shareof them who have really distorted and twisted
the agency. You know, I'vecompared it to a Hoover like FBI again,
where back then it was really justHoover who was running the show and
in charge and had his own henchmen. Now I think Director Ray is pretty

(23:48):
much insulated from a lot of that, and maybe he does that intentionally.
And then it's these other ses levelemployees who are more of a conglomerate of
a hoover. It's a ten headedsnake instead of a one headed snake.
Today, here's the part that thatsticks out to me, though. Here's
a guy, right, he's leftthe eye agent. He gets a new

(24:08):
assignment. He moves, he sellshis house, takes his daughter out of
school, moves his family across thecountry. I don't know where he was
before, but they moved to Virginia. That's where Quantico is, Virginia,
Northern Virginia. So he's moved hisfamily there, and the moment he gets
there, his first day going in, they suspend him. Okay, you're

(24:33):
suspended. You just got to abrand new town. Now you've got no
paycheck. You've you've gotten your familyto move all the way across the country
for your job, and you've gotno job, and they won't fire you.
So you can't accept another job withouttheir permission, And of course they
won't give you their permission. That'swhat they do. How miserable is your

(24:59):
life working under the circumstances. It'shorrible. All right, here's one more
for you, Miranda Divine from theNew York Post who says the problem goes
all the way to the top,and at the top, of course,
we're talking about Christopher Ray. Andshe says, the only way you're going
to get rid of Christopher Ray iswith a new administration. Christopher Ray never
shows any ruffled feathers about any ofthe oversight or any of the criticism.

(25:22):
His job when he was appointed byPresident Trump was to try and restore the
faith in the FBI that had beenlost through James Comey's antics. Instead,
he's done the opposite. Things havegone from bad to worse under him.
And last week you just had blowafter blow. You had those three courageous

(25:45):
whistleblowers who previously had worked for theFBI were suspended without pay. The retaliation
after they made protected whistleblower complaints wascruel and unbelievable. No other employer in
the country could get away with that. And so then you had other revelations

(26:07):
that the FBI has been spying onAmericans, you know, using these fiser
surveillance warrants, but looking at theirlooking through this database, at their private
information, you know, the FBI. Of course, the whistleblowers have told
US that they have been spying onparents at school board meetings, targeting Catholics,

(26:32):
targeting pro lifers. It's just outof control. They're abusing their power
and nobody cares. There's no accountability. And you know, they crippled the
Trump presidency with this Russia collusion lie. The Durham Report lays it all out,
but it's all, you know, too late really to do anything about
it. Nobody cares. The WashingtonPost and the New York Times are not

(26:56):
handing back the pulitzers they got forpeddling the lies from the FBI, and
it all came from the Clinton campaign. We know that it's official, and
still nobody cares. And Hillary Clinton, when she was interviewed by John Durham,
just laughed it off as Russian disinformation, which is their go to line.

(27:19):
And you know, they blame Russiafor everything, and they have done
for the last six years, andnow we're in a proxy war with Russia
in Ukraine. They stopped Donald Trumpfrom being able to normalize relations with Russia.
So who knows what kind of geopoliticalramifications this Russia Russia Russia hoax continually

(27:42):
had. They did it again,of course in twenty twenty with the Hunter
Biden laptop pretending that was Russian disinformation. They laugh it off, And why
wouldn't you laugh it off? Ifyou're them, of course you're going to
laugh it off. Are you fearfulthat somehow there's somebody's got and after you,
that you're going to go on trial, that you're going to be charged

(28:03):
with something, that you're going toend up in prison. No, you're
not worried about that. If you'renot worried about that at all, I
think I think these folks have beenemboldened beyond belief. I don't think they
think for minutes that they'll ever haveto worry about any of their actions.
And if you don't think you haveto worry about any of your actions,
you just feel free to do whateverthe hell you want. What's going to

(28:25):
stop them? Was my question? All Right, enough to ponder for one
day, You'll have a great day. See tomorrow morning brighton early five am
