(00:03):
What we need is more common sense. We got the youth plane breaking down
the world's nonsense about how American commonsense. We'll see us through with the
common sense of Houston. I'm justpro common sense for Houston. From Houston
dot Com. This is the JimmyBarrett Show, brought to you by Viewin
(00:27):
dot Com. Now here's Jimmy Barrett. So I said yesterday on the show
that we'd spend more time talking todayabout the about the comer press conference yesterday
and uh and some of the things, if some of the reaction to it,
some of the follow up to it, that we knew that we were
going to get yesterday afternoon and lastnight, and of course we did,
(00:50):
so we might as well go aheadand start out of the gate with that,
and you know, keep keep thepromise and take care of it.
First of all, in case youmissed the Republican press conference yesterday to talk
about the evidence that they have gatheredthus far in the Biden family corruption investigation,
here is at least part of it. One of the better answers that
(01:11):
I certainly enjoyed with the representative JamesCover. This is from yesterday afternoon.
This is him the press now themind do the press is there, and
the only press that ended up reallydoing anything with the story were the usual
suspects, Fox News and Newsmax. That's it. There are other reporters who
were there, There are other mediaoutlets that were there, but I defy
(01:32):
you to find any coverage on othermedia outlets. You won't find it in
USA today. You won't find iton msn you won't find it on CNBC,
you won't find it on MSNBC.You certainly won't find it on CNN.
Well think you'll find on CNN iswhat a liar Trump is after the
town hall last night, and we'llget to that. We'll get to that
(01:52):
in just a little bit, butlet's let's start with this. Here is
James Comer yesterday calling out the mediafor not offering the Biden family crime issue.
I don't think the media is playingthe same role that it used to
play with respect to investigative reporting, and it's been very difficult. We're fighting
(02:13):
the Biden attorneys, we're fighting thedj we're fighting the FBI, we're fighting
a lot of the media, andwe're just trying to be transparent. The
White House said today that this wasa political stunt. That's what little Ian
Sam said. This is a politicalstunt by comer a press conference, a
political stunt. We're actually giving youa memorandum with evidence, so we're trying
to be transparent. We're leading acredible investigation, as Miss May said,
(02:37):
And I think that from a historicalstandpoint, we've never seen a presidential family
receive these sums of money from adversariesaround the world. And we're just talking
about a couple of countries today.I mean, if you look at the
(02:57):
countries that this family was influenced, pedaling in China is probably the most reputable
country on the list, if thattouch anything. So I think we're making
a lot of progress in less thana hundred days. One difference between us
and the and the work that theSenate did is we have subpoena power,
and we got the bank records, and we're gonna get more bank records,
and we're gonna have more whistleblowers comefor a few weeks here. Last thing
(03:19):
I'll say to ask you the questionwe said. I mentioned whistleblowers a couple
of weeks ago, and Jimmy're askingsaid there were no whistleblowers. There two
whistleblowers have come forward now, onewith the arrests and one with the dalj
right, so they got two whistleblowers. And they also got asked about whether
or not the whistleblowers are going tobe testifying, and if so, when
are they going to be testifying, and they weren't prepared to answer that question.
(03:40):
Representative Jim Jordan was at the pressconference yesterday. I'm not sure if
he spoke or he didn't speak.Representative Comber was leading the way yesterday,
and we heard from Nancy Maze, and we also heard yesterday from Byron Donald's
and some of the other people whowere there. I didn't see any specific
(04:00):
attributed to Representative Jim Jordan, buthe probably did say something, and he
certainly was on Fox last night talkingabout it, and he got asked about
the FBI. And the FBI hasbeen subpoenaed for specific piece of information that
the whistleblower says they have, andthe FBI is refusing. They don't deny
(04:20):
having it, they're just refusing toprovide it because while they're making the usual
claim right national security issues, it'snot classified. There's nothing there that physically
should protect it in any way, shape or form from a congressional subpoena.
But so far the FBI is notcooperating. Here's Representative Jim Jordan. Chairman
Cumber's going to continue to push toget that document. This ten twenty three
(04:43):
form. This is a form whenthe FBI is talking with a confidential human
source that they record the conversation on, they make the notes, and they
put it on this form. Thewhistleblower says that that form exists. That's
the whistle blower who went to SenatorGrassley. Chairman Cumber said, I want
to see this form. Let's hopethey If the form exists, Let's hope
the FBI turns it over to thecommittee as the subpoenas says they have to
(05:05):
do. When can you get thiswhistleblower out there in the public testifying under
oath. That's always up to thewhistleblower. Larry, We've had a number
of whistleblowers come talk to us fromthe FBI. We've actually interviewed six of
them. We plan on having someof them testify publicly here in the near
future because they want to and theyhave a compelling story to tell, and
they've been retaliated against. But inthis situation, it's totally up to the
(05:28):
whistle blower. That's the way thestatute works. We've had some the FBI
whistlers come to the Distry Committee. We've had Democrats leak information from their interview
and then it turned out that thatinformation was wrong, and two of the
outlets and media outlets who covered thathad to redact and change what they wrote.
So they're concerned about retaliation, butit's totally up to the whistleblower.
Mister Grassley has confidence in this whistleblower, says, this whistle blower is
(05:49):
totally credible. We'll just have towait and see. But in the big
picture, always come back and remembersuspicious activity reports. And the keyword in
there is suspicious is not activity reports. It's suspicious activity reports that our government,
our Treasury Department, put together onehundred and seventy of them. And
some of those reports, Larry, came from the Obama Biden Treasury Department during
(06:12):
that administration. So you got onehundred and seventy of those that Chairman Comer
and the Committee have looked at.You have thousands of pages of banking records
that Chairman at comer has subpoened fromfour banks. Those all point to the
creation of twenty different LLC's out thereassociated with the Biden family receiving, as
you said, tens of millions ofdollars from these foreign entities. Those ten
(06:33):
million dollars were then given to allkinds of members of the Biden family.
Joe's brother, the President's brother, his son, his sister in law,
is his daughter in law, allkinds of folks getting money. And the
fundamental question always comes down to this, what did they do? What was
the business? What was the servicethey provided, What value did they add?
What did they actually No one knowswhat the business was, So that
(06:56):
to me is the big picture.Since and all this complexity movement money down
and all these different banks, that'swhy there's one hundred and seventy suspicious activity
reports. The business is money laundering, is what it is. That that's
the business. And you know, twenty different corporations to move money around,
that's all, that's all that was. None of them were actual businesses,
(07:18):
none of them actually did anything. It was just up front to to move
money around to various different members ofthe Biden family. And yet the mainstream
media continues to approach it from well, yeah, they didn't prove anything about
Joe Biden. You'd have to bekind of blind not to see that,
would you. But you know,a lot of American people will never get
(07:42):
exposed to this story unless they watchFox News or Newsmax or listen to a
station like Artist. They're never goingto be exposed to it. All right,
we're back with more in a moment. It will continue the story.
Jimmy Barrett Show here on Name ninefifty KPRC. All right, we'll spent
(08:03):
a little time today, you know, just kind of going over the information.
We've already opened up with the someof the information that came out of
the press conference yesterday, Representative JamesComber's press conference, and we're gonna get
some analysis from that from Raven Harrison. She's a political strategist. I also
want to talk to her about theTrump town hall last night on CNN,
(08:24):
which was just ridiculous. But we'llget into that with her and a few
other things as well. She's comingup here in the next segment. Anyway,
let's continue the conversation about the Comberpress conference. We already, you
know, we kind of set itup for you here as far as you
know, some of the information wegot, all the bank statements, the
one hundred and seventy days say yeah, one hundred and seventy times that the
(08:48):
Treasury Department flag transactions with the Bidensand their dummy companies. Then the companies,
by the way, the LLC's thatare just names. That's it there,
No, there's no real business. What it was was a place maybel
to make a check payable too withouthaving making it payable to a Biden,
(09:11):
and then the money would go intothat and then it would get transferred to
another one of the LLCs, andat some point in time it actually went
to a member of the Biden family. That I believe is the strictest definition
of money laundering that you could possiblycome up with. Now, why would
they send over ten million dollars toa family that doesn't have a legitimate business
(09:33):
without expecting something in return. Nobodygets paid millions of dollars to do something
or to not do something. Ishould say other than hey, you're a
great guy, we love you.As vice persion in the United States,
here's a million dollars, here's agift. None of these things were gifts.
No, no, no, somethingwas expected in return from this,
(09:54):
And we've got a fair amount ofevidence of some of the things where administration
has turned the other way and ittook a blind eye outlook towards it,
especially with China. And I thinkthat's what Jesse Waters was thinking yesterday on
the five. Here he is talkingabout Biden family corruption and how we should
(10:15):
there should be no question here,There should be no question in your mind
about what it is that they're doing. It's so obvious now, and the
Left is saying bribes are legal, bribes are now legal. Foreign nationals they
can't donate to a politician's campaign.Foreign nationals can donate to a politician's family,
and that's fine. This would belike Kamala Harris being put in charge
(10:41):
of immigration, flying her family toMexico, meeting with a bunch of Mexican
officials, and then having a bunchof corrupt Mexican nationals wire millions of dollars
to everybody in Kamala Harris's family, and then Kamala Harris's family trying to hide
it from the irs, and nowthe media saying they didn't link Joe Biden
to the scandal. Really, JoeBiden isn't linked to the Biden family bribe
(11:07):
scandal at all. Really, heknows nothing about this. Then why do
you leave a voicemail for his sonexplaining that he got away with it?
You know, why do you firethe prosecutor? You know why? When
he becomes president he shuts down theFBI China Task Force and then covers up
the lab League and then lets theballoon fly across the country. Why why
(11:30):
why you want more? Yeah? What else do you want? What else
do you need? Why? Why? Why? Oh? But again,
you know, this story is notgoing to get to a lot of people.
You know, if if you're somebodywho's just very passively involved in gathering
information, and you know, theonly thing you watch is maybe you watch
(11:54):
you know, ABC thirteen or oryou know, CHEL two or whatever,
you know, get some local newswhich is slanted it in its own way.
You know, maybe that's just itbald in the news you get.
Maybe you don't even watch the news, maybe just tune in like my wife
does for the weather. I justgo watch the weather, and if she
hears anything else is by osmos ispretty much. It's not that she doesn't
(12:18):
care about the news. I don'tthink it's because, like many of us,
she tires of it. You gettired of it. You you it's
frustrating, and when people get youdo something repeatedly that frustrates you. Because
I find that very few people do. If you do something and you find
it every time you do it itfrustrates you, chances are pretty good you're
(12:41):
going to stop doing it because whowants to be frustrated? Who wants to
wake up every day and be angryby the end of the day. Nobody,
Nobody wants that. I completely getthat. So you have to go
out of your way to learn aboutsome of these things and to find out.
(13:03):
You're required to tune in and todo things that frustrate you. So
I can understand why a lot ofpeople don't know, and a lot of
people won't know. But at somepoint, hopefully it gets like Watergate from
the standpoint of you can't get awayfrom it. But of course, the
reason why you couldn't get away froma story like Watergate was because of the
news media. Because the news mediawas all over it constantly twenty four to
(13:28):
seven. You couldn't walk away fromit. You couldn't get away from news
about that crime, this one. It's pretty easy to avoid. All you
have to do is not watch Foxor Newsmax or listen to talk radio,
and you'll be able to be ableto get through your day and not know
a dog on and thing about what'sgoing on. Of course, a lot
of this goes back to to,you know, the disinformation people that are
(13:52):
having a hard time figuring out what'sreal what isn't real. They bought into
the disinformation campaign. Many of themstill do. Many of them still do.
There are people who believe that, you know, that the letter the
CIA wrote was absolutely see they don't. They think the whole hundred laptop thing
is a Russian hoax. Now that'sbeen disproven fifteen ways to Sunday. The
(14:16):
mainstream, even the mainstream media hasadmitted that. But there's still people who
have never revisited it and they stillbelieve it's all a bunch of made up
stuff. Here's Matt Gates represented MattGates on dealing with the CIA in them
signing off on the whole one hundredlaptop thing. Why would they do something
like that, Well, for afinancial reason. It turns out I missed
(14:37):
the good old days when America's CIAwas only interested in affecting the selection of
leaders overseas, not here in ourcountry. Now we have evidence that that
did in fact occur. And youmight wonder why would these fifty one people
put their security clearances and their reputationson the line to sign something that was
clearly false. The answer is thatfor one of them, they wanted their
(15:00):
book approved by the CIA, andthe CIA person told the signer of the
letter that they had to do that, otherwise they wouldn't get their book approved.
That is clear coercion by our governmentto influence the twenty twenty election,
and it didn't make an impact onthe margins. We know that one out
of every six Biden voters would havemade a different choice had they seen this
(15:24):
evidence. But it was blocked bybig media, it was blocked by big
tech and triggered by big government.True enough, tough thing to fight though,
you know, like I said,if you don't get coverage on something
like yesterday with the cover press conference, which got plenty of coverage on certain
(15:45):
media outlets and zero coverage on others. But the cumulative total is is that
of all the places you can goto get news very few of them had
anything on the cover press conference andthe evidence that this committee is other,
very very few of them. It'svery easy to ignore. In fact,
you have to search out the storyin order to be able to get anything
(16:08):
on it. USA Today, MSN, none of those news outlets are doing
a dog one thing with a story, not a dog one thing. Now.
They're they're all running with the Trumptown hall thing. You know,
especially even CNN off to tell Ravenabout this when we talked to her in
(16:29):
our next segment. Even CNN dotcom is running an ad or running a
criticism piece about the town hall withDonald Trump, where they basically say he
lied and lied a fire host oflies during his live town hall and said
that Caitlin Collins is tough and knowledgeable. She fact checked Trump throughout the interview,
but over and over again she toldhim the election was not stolen,
(16:52):
it was not ragged. There's noevidence of the lies he was disseminating on
stage over and over again. It'sa propaganda. So nothing's changed to CNN,
and nothing has changed with the mainstreammedia and quite honestly, ratings aside,
nothing will back with more. Ina moment, we'll talk to Raven
next here on AM nine fifty KPRC. All right, a lot of things
(17:22):
to talk about in the world ofpolitics today, so we're bringing on one
of my favorite people to talk aboutit. Her name is Raven Harrison.
If you've ever heard Raven on theshow before, she's awesome. First of
all, she's Texas born and raised. She's a political strategist, former congressional
candidate, daughter of two US AirForce retired Lieutenant colonels. You think that
maybe she had a little discipline growingup. I'm just guessing the answer might
(17:45):
be yes. Raven, Welcome backto A nine fifty KPRC. Thank you
for having me. Great to behere. You know, it's amazing.
We haven't really talked about the AirForce Brat thing before, but it really
is quite amazing. You know, some of the most successful people in life,
especially some of the most successful andI don't take this the wrong way,
and I'm not making this about race, but some of the most successful
(18:07):
African American people I know are peoplewho are raised by military parents. Well,
it's definitely a culture. And yeah, no offense taken at all.
I'm actually Native American, so I'mmore Native American than anything else. But
I believe that, you know, the structure and the routine that I grew
up resisting more than anything is partof why I'm probably so well adjusted right
(18:30):
now. So you were probably youprobably had such a strict upbringing that by
the time you got to be anadult, you probably put a lot of
rules on yourself. But it feltlike a relief because you weren't nearly as
stuff on yourself as your parents were. Correct, I thought being able to
sleep till five am was kind ofa win. And when you ask your
parents something and hey, you know, dad, how do I do this,
(18:52):
It's like they'll be a briefing atoh six hundred, and I'm like,
seriously, you know that was thekind of upbringing and just shear,
fear and respect. You know, there was no way I was coming home
pregnant. There was no way Iwas coming home without my homework done.
I mean, it just it's noteven an issue. It was a non
issue. That's not happening. There'sa set of expectations that come with,
(19:15):
you know, having parents in themilitary, and and and it's it's it's
something that really is missing in thelives of so many young people. Today.
They don't have any discipline in manycases, let alone the kind of
discipline you get from military parents.Correct discipline and respect. And I can
guarantee you we've got to in thishousehold better getting it. Their parents are
(19:37):
warriors, their father's a retired Cseventeen pilot. I'm married to a retired
C seventeen pilot. And I'm tellingyou so, we've got it through and
through in this house. But yes, it needs to make a comeback.
Respect, manners and courtesy. Well, speaking of manners and courtesy and a
lack thereof, did you see theCNN town hall with President Trump last night?
(20:00):
I did. I choose to usuallynot make it a rule to watch
CNN, but I did watch thetown hall and whoa, whoa, So
yeah, it was everything. Itwas the dumpster fire I expected CNN to
produce. So here's my question, because obviously you would think one or two
things is going on with CNN doingsomething like that. They're either trying to
(20:22):
make at least some sort of arun towards the middle, that's one potential
theory, or they look at thisas an opportunity to trash Trump, which
obviously is what they decided they weregoing to do with it. They also
have extremely low ratings, so Ihaven't seen the ratings yet for what happened
last night with the town hall, but they got to be better than what
their normal ratings would be would be. So I'm a little surprised that they
(20:47):
did turn it into a dumpster firebecause if they were making any attempt to
try to appear slightly more fair, that failed, That uncategorically failed last night.
Well, what you just said iscorrect the oxy moron. They were
trying to appear more fair and partial, but that was not the intention.
So the intention was exactly what theygot. And just for context, they
(21:11):
were getting beat by overnight segments ofthe Home and Garden Channel before this.
I mean, CNN's ratings have beena joke for a very very long time.
So they needed President Trump. Theyknow that he is gaining steam.
Everything they've thrown is not working,so they needed him to energize these ratings,
(21:32):
to whip up the left for hateand whip up the right for support.
And they went in there. Butthis is what they missed, which
is people really want journalism. Theywant the ability to make a decision for
themselves, and this moderator decided thatshe had an opportunity to interject her opinion
and her views, and quite frankly, nobody wanted to hear that and constantly
(21:55):
interrupt him. She constantly interrupted,She did not she was not speaking of
Hey, sources say this. That'swhen you're not talking about journalism. You're
talking about an opinion piece. Becauseshe kept saying, oh, that's not
true. This is you know,no, that didn't happen, and you
know it was just one of thosehard you know, SOFA warriors of going
Can you please shut up? Butyou know, here's the thing is,
(22:18):
this is one thing President Trump doesbetter than anybody else, which is he
walks in to the belly of thebeast, you know, and he knows
he's going into the fire, sohe brings popcorn and steak and a beer
and you know, and starts, you know, getting ready for the row.
So these people are playing checkers andhe's playing five D chest. So
(22:41):
he basically wheelded that and then gothis signature might drop. You know,
you're a nasty woman. She willnever live that down, No, she
won't. I mean, she turned. She has a pretty good time going
on, but she turned like,I don't know, three different shades of
purple. When he said that, you could you could tell that that she
was embarrassed. Well, she shouldhave, because she should have been embarrassed
by her performance the town hall.I agree with Representative Daniels. The town
(23:06):
hall was for the people. Itwas for the constituents. It was supposed
to be a different kind of venue. It's not for the moderators. It's
not for Anderson Cooper. Even AndersonCooper said, well, he just ripped
us a new one. So hesure did, and he does that better
than anybody I know. It definitelywas rock star mode. But it was
a shame because it could have beensomething much better. But again, CNN
(23:29):
has proved why you know, theirratings are perpetually low and why people don't
watch CNN for the same reason theydon't drink. How the spoil it?
That's awesome. There's an analysis piece. Here's the headline, CNN fases harsh
criticism after Trump unleashed a firehose oflives during his live town hall. The
(23:51):
piece, by the way, verycritical of CNN and very critical of former
President Trump, was written by CNNdot Com. Interestingly enough, so they
were even willing to criticize themselves.Well, I think that they had no
choice. I mean, they're they'regetting roasted for this. But the end
of the day, you know, this is what the left. They have
a problem with facts. I meanAOC called for they should take this down.
(24:15):
So you're calling for censorship. Theleft didn't have any problem with free
speech and so they couldn't control itanymore. So that's what you know,
all these calls take them off theore air. Tucker needs to be taken
down. These people need to betaken down. This is all they talk
about. When somebody has a differentopinion, it needs to come down.
So, you know, they haven'tbeen able to demonstrate what he said that
(24:37):
was a lie. She said thatit was not true that we had the
lowest inflation. That is actually astatistical fact. Something with the left doesn't
like. That's a fact. Wehad the lowest minority unemployment, we had
a thriving stock market. Those arenot seculations, they are fats. And
she just lost her mind when hewent through the litany of things that he
had done. We were not ina war, he was president. That
(25:00):
is a fact we are now.So they she had an opportunity and she
she was way out of her league. Was the takeaway from that? Yeah,
so do you think this is oneand done for a CNN and Trump.
I get the stake in suspicion thatwhat may have motivated Trump to do
it is number one, as yousaid, he's not afraid to go into
the belly of the beast. Butmaybe just as importantly as I think he
(25:23):
was trying to send a message toFox because he knows that Fox News has
been switching their allegiances and they're behindde Santis and up behind him. Well,
that could possibly be true, buthe's had that same problem with the
Republican Party. You know, theyhad kind of had to They wanted to
use him to promote but then he'slike, hey, we need your help,
and they're like, yeah, notnow. So that is a switch.
(25:45):
But he has not done anything onCNN since the twenty sixteen run,
and so I don't think you willsee him there again. They got their
ratings boost, everybody's talking about it, but they're going to have to come
up with something else. This wasa one trick pony. Okay, Well
Trump, Yeah, brought up FoxNews, so we might as well mentioned
Tucker Carlson. Yes, supposedly there'ssomething going on between him and Twitter,
(26:07):
although both sides are very clear tonot be specific about that. There also
would appear, there also would appearthat Tucker Carlson is still employed by Fox,
and there's been a lot of storiesgoing around that this goes back to
the Dominion Software settlement and that partof the deal was that the Tucker Carlson
(26:27):
Show would be ended, and theywere very careful when Dominion was asked about
this, they were very careful inhow they warded it so that they would
so that they didn't say that. They basically said, no, we did
not demand that Tucker Carlson be fired. So okay, yep. But does
that mean that you suggested it orit was part of the deal, or
(26:49):
does it mean that you didn't careif he got fired as long as the
show ended. What does it mean? Well, what it means is you
have to kind of read between theselines because that's where the true flies.
So, yes, they've been veryunspecific, but Tucker did announce that he
is doing a new show on Twitter, which is notorious right now for being
free. Now since they've taken overthe management, we found out about all
(27:11):
the censorship that was going on there. So what I find interesting is I
do not find a coincidence between thetiming of Tucker Carlson being let go or
his contract not being renewed, orwhatever terminology we want to use, and
the settlement of the dominion lawsuit, which was half a billion dollars. It
was one point six billion and theyliterally settled for seven hundred and eighty seven
(27:33):
million. So what a consolation prize? But what would motivate Fox to nuke
their strongest and longest performing in primetime? This would have seemed to be
career suicide, but they went straighton in this. And what we're seeing
now is everybody is wondering. Sonow he's going to be doing his show
(27:53):
on Twitter. What happens when hehas to start calling out China? What
happens when you know? Because there'sa lot of talk right now about who
Elon is in bed with and sowe are trying to figure out now what
that means. But what about theJanuary sixth footage? Is he in possession
of that? Yeah? Is itFox that still has that? So we
(28:14):
have a lot of cliffhangers out there, and I think Tucker is taken that
all the way to the Bay,right. I think you're right, yeah,
and right now. Of course hetechnically he can talk about it because
he is technically still a Fox employeeuntil they can figure out how they're going
to settle all this, and that'sgonna be interesting in and of itself.
I want to also ask you too, Raven, before we let you go,
and again we're talking to Raven Harrison, political strategist here on an M
(28:36):
nine fifty KP Pearcy. I wantto ask you about the Comber press conference
yesterday. I watched this press conference. First of all, everybody who spoke
was fantastic. Byron Donald's in particular. I don't know his background is he
is he an attorney? But washe an attorney before he ran? Yes,
he was, and I think he'sabsolutely a rock star at all.
(28:56):
He was amazing. I mean, head he laid out a k he said,
hey, he's holding me. Hey, we're handing you a puell of
surprise. You know, why don'tyou do something with it? And of
course none of them are, butthat's a different story. But that was
an amazing case they laid out.It really was, and it's really going
(29:17):
to be right now. This iswhat the American people want to see.
This system is broken. The factthat we're even getting to this point where
he had to lay out a case. You know, Trump got impeached over
a phone call. Yet we arenot talking about that. It's going upwards.
It was eight million dollars tied toBiden last time. Now it's ten
million. Now it's you know,we're we're talking about shell companies and everything
(29:41):
else that's laid Alice is absolutely horrific. You know, we are waiting for
the hammer of justice to come down. When do people on both sides start
doing the purse walk, you know, for ripping off and derelictive duty to
the American people. We are readyfor it. Now, keep those handcuffs
warm, the ones you wanted forTrump. It looks like we need enough
(30:03):
to go around. It's going tobe a party. Yeah, that's what
people are looking for now, isright now, we want to see some
accountability because all they do is talkand have investigations and hearings, and we
have seen no justice. Nobody's goingto jail, nobody's been prosecuted, so
that we want to see they're gettingzero cooperation from the FBI, They'll get
zero cooperation from any other government entityand all this, so it's it's it's
(30:26):
going to become a one man job. So I was glad to see them
step up the way they did becausethey're going to have to have to fight
a really strong battle here in orderto even get the information to the American
people because the only ones covering thisor news Max and Fox, Well,
you've got to do that. Andsee, that's the power you have,
that's the power that we all have. Is justice size in the dark.
(30:47):
So I always carry a flashlight,So tell you keep the light on it,
you keep the pressure on them. It's working. And that's what I
tell the American people. It's working. You know, when we're fleshing them
out. We're further than we are. We still have ways to go,
but it's working. We the peoplecan do this. We have and we
will, all right. Raven Harrison, always a pleasure. Thank you so
much for coming on the show.So grateful to be here. Thanks for
(31:10):
having me. You bet anytime.Raven Harrison joining us here on AM nine
fifty k r C quick little breakback with more in a moment on the
Jimmy Barrett Show. All right,we're back here at a nine fifty k
RC. Is we get ready towrap it up on a Thursday. One
(31:30):
of the things I do want toget to and I'm gonna do my usual
disclabor. I always whatever I talkabout teachers, see how very well trained
by my father was a teacher.Whenever I talk about teachers, I'm very
careful to say I love teachers.I appreciate what many teachers do, at
least the vast majority of teachers inmy world. I don't want you to
(31:53):
think I don't like teachers. Idon't care for teachers unions. My father
actually didn't care for teachers unions either, And interestingly enough, he was the
head of a teachers union for aperiod of time. But this was a
law. First of all, itwas a long long time ago, before
(32:14):
the education system got so far intowhack. That's number one and number two.
It was his thought that if I'mthe head of the union, then
I can at least exercise some controlover what we stand for, what we
do. So, I mean,he was always very good at hiding his
(32:36):
political beliefs from people he knew wouldbe the wrong people to know about where
he really stood on issues. Hewas very sneaky that way, very sneaky
man, my father. Okay,So here's what's going on in California,
and specifically in Oakland, California, which you know is a very liberal place.
California's a very liberal place, butSan Francisco and Oakland are even more
(33:00):
liberal than the overall liberalness of thestate. They have a teacher's walk out
going on right now. Teachers strikeand it was organized by the teachers union,
the Oakland Combined Unified School District Ithink that's what they called Unified School
District Oakland USD. They put togetherthis strike. So, when you're a
(33:24):
teacher and you're striking, what isit? Did you strike for higher pay,
better insurance or benefits those types ofthings, right? What else would
you maybe maybe you strike for betterclassroom conditions or smaller teacher to student ratios.
(33:47):
That is not so much what they'restriking for in Oakland, California.
They're striking for reparations for black students. Hang on, you're striking for reparations
for your black students. What hasthat got to do with your teaching?
(34:10):
In other words, they're striking fora whole list of social issues that don't
have anything to do with actually teachinga class. And worse yet, it's
not like they're doing a great jobof teaching. The test scores from Oakland,
California public schools are abysmal. Here'sDouglas Murray, he's a Fox News
(34:36):
contributor. Here he goes over. You know, he's having a hard time
understanding all of those too. Howis that they'll batted your jobs and yet
you're getting all the support to walkout from doing your port jobs in order
to support social issues. If theteaching unions cad as much about proficiency in
the basics as they do about whateverthe latest woke issue is, maybe Erica's
(35:00):
children would be in a better placethan they are Educationally. Oakland currently has
in public schools. I think itis twenty one percent math proficiency among students.
Twenty one percent. They can manageto get about a fifth of pupils
in the area proficient in math. Why are they even talking about anything else?
(35:22):
And how dare they? How darethey when they are failing at their
most basic task? Start talking abouthistorical reparations for things that no one alife
has suffered and no one alife hascommitted. How dare they talk about homeless
shelters when they can't even educate studentsin math. That's what I can't understand.
(35:49):
They want reparations for black students whenit's actually the very teachers' unions that
have done a great the greatest racialinjustice, are currently doing the great racial
injustice by night teaching them. No. I mean, the proficiency level for
black students in Oakland and in Californiaas a whole are even worse than the
(36:12):
average. If these teachers and theunions cared at all about racial issues in
America or improving a lot of youngBlack Americans, they would not be talking
these fantasies about reparations which are nevergoing to happen. They're never going to
happen them, and let's just havethat out there. It is not going
to be the case that every blackCalifornian is going to be given millions of
(36:36):
dollars. And by the way, there's no reason why, I don't know,
an Asian family in California should haveto hike up their taxes and pay
them in order to pay for that. That's not going to happen. But
the one thing that could do amassive amount in this generation to improve the
lot of young Black Americans would bebeing well educated. And that's the one
(36:57):
thing the unions of men are do, the one thing that teaches are men
are, and the one thing thatthey are completely failing at doing. Yep,
they care about the homeless, theycare about reparations, but they don't
care about improving math scores. Whyis that? Why is that? And
by the way, yes, therewill be no monetary California reparations. I
think Gavin Mussom made that pretty clear. I don't know what he thought by
(37:21):
doing it. I don't know ifit was a delayed tactic to to put
together this reparations panel. I don'tknow if he thought that, well,
they'll come back with something reasonable thatwe actually can do. But imagine what
he thought when he first started.Hang on, you want us to pay
one point two million dollars to everyblack Californian, regardless of how long they've
lived here. Where do you thinkwe're going to get the money? We're
(37:45):
broke? Maybe you should have thoughtabout that before you even put that reparations
committee together. All right, y'allhave a great evening. See tomorrow morning,
Friday edition of Houston's Morning News onnews radio seven forty KTRH. We
