(00:02):
Well, what we need is morecommon sense, common the college breaking down
the world's nonsense about how American commonsense. We'll see us through with the
common sense of Houston. I'm justpro common sense for Houston. From Houston
dot Com. This is the JimmyBarrett Show, brought to you by viewind

(00:28):
dot Com. Now here's Jimmy Barrett. I think we're getting a preview of
this summer. I think that's whatwe're seeing at Columbia University. What was
it UCLA yesterday where they had someviolence on campus at the University of California,
Los Angeles. Of course, Columbiais a private university. UCLA is
a state run university, and theyseem to handle it in very different ways

(00:50):
Columbia. It's hard to imagine anybodybeing more liberal about this than than UCLA.
But Columbia clearly is. Columbia isa private school, and I know,
I guess they can do whatever theywant to do as far as how
they want to handle this. Butyou give an inch and they'll take a

(01:10):
mile when it comes to these people. I mean not that they're not going
to try to take a mile anyway, but where Columbia has made some really
major mistakes is allowing these demonstrators totake over a campus building. First of
all, they gave them a deadlineto get out of their ten village,
to vacate their little ten village thatthey set up where all the tents look

(01:32):
exactly the same because they all camefrom the same source. They gave them
a deadline. The deadline came andwent, they didn't leave, and nobody
forced them to. So what kindof message does that send to the demonstrators
that we have no intention of forcingthis. You can just go ahead and

(01:52):
stay here, not to worry.Nobody is going to come and try to
take you away. And it's reallyquite ridiculous now as far as the protesters
themselves and what they stand for.Lawrence Jones from Fox was at Columbia yesterday.
He's walking around talking to the protesters, and the protester he talks to

(02:15):
is a young woman. I'm badat ages, and i'd hate I learned
a long time ago the worst thingyou can do in life is try to
guess a woman's age, because ifyou're wrong, there's hell to pay.
But she doesn't look young enough tome to be a student. And in
fact, I think based on thelanguage she uses. I don't think she
is. She's a paid demonstrator,a paid demonstrator who has been given talking

(02:39):
points and is going through the talkingpoints. That's all they do, is
they go through the talking points, and if you actually ask them a question
that requires some sort of a smartanswer in answer based on actual facts,
they have a hell the time doingit. And that's clear from this that
she's going to have a heck ofa time the questioning. So let's take

(03:00):
a listen to Lawrence Jones from Foxwith a female protest or at Columbia.
My name's Lilian, It's nice tomeet you. Why are you here today?
I'm here in support of the students, and I think that it's really
important that everyone who stands with Palestineand Gaza right now is also standing with
these students, who are, youknow, leading the way in the US.
How do you feel about them takingover the building right now? I

(03:23):
think that their cause is a justcause and I hope that the administration really
hears their demand. I think they'rejust demands. Do you feel like it
was right to hold three of thejanitor workers hostage within side of the building.
I think that's a really false narrative. That's what they the janitors are
saying that they weren't allowed to leave. I think that that's a really false

(03:44):
narrative. Even if the janitors aresaying that, you're saying that that's not
true. I think that it's areally false narrative that the students took anyone
hostage. How do you feel aboutsome of the Jewish students saying that they
don't feel safe here on campus.I think that this is also a really
false narratives that's being promoted. Doyou think October seventh and the attack that
happened is a false nuity? Doyou believe that some of the women were

(04:09):
raped? Colly just came back oneSo this is what happened. Can you
get out of my face? Please? So this is what you see at
these these protests. Once you getinto the nitty gritty of what happened on
October to seventh, the rape ofwomen, what's happening there, they they
deny what happened. As you knowthat it's actually factual now that the janitorial

(04:30):
workers were blocked inside of the building, and anytime you bring that up the
Jewish cause, the Jewish people, the kids that feel unsafe on campus.
They denied the reality of it.Guys, Oh, that was a really
false narrative. It's a false narrative. Hostage. Just know that's a false
narrative. Students wouldn't do that.No, it's a false it's a false
narrative. It's all a false narrative. Really, that's the only answer you

(04:53):
got is it's a false narrative. That's in Huh, that's all you got.
That's it, Okay. And ofcourse, when got to question of
October the seventh, which of courseis Israel's date that will live in infamy,
where these hostages were taken, wherewomen were raped, where children were
beheaded and killed, and videotaping canbe proven. Okay, we got no

(05:17):
answer for that. Shut it down. Shut it down. These are paid
protesters. I don't know how muchthey get paid, but they clearly don't
have much in the way answers.I don't know what if that's all you
got for answers, why why youeven agree to a media interview? And
you can tell she's talking about studentsin the third person, so I don't
believe she's a student herself. Allright, Now, we haven't heard diddlely

(05:39):
from Joe Biden on any of thisstuff. We haven't heard deadley. Donald
Trump, however, who is stuckin New York for his trial, was
on Sean Hannity last night. Hegot asked about what happened in Columbia.
Of course, you know, onceColumbia finally called in the NYPD and of
the problem, the NYPD doesn't messaround. They got rid. They got
rid of the protesters, evacuated them, odel of the building, got rid

(06:01):
of the tent city. Here's Trumptalking about the police at Columbia. Well,
it's just such a sad thing tosee, John, When you look
at this, it's not even believable. If you go back a year,
go back three or four or fiveyears ago, this would not even be
possible to think about. Nobody wouldbe thinking this could happen. You look

(06:21):
at the anti Semitism, the hatredof Israel by so many people, you
go back ten years. I mean, Israel was protected by Congress and now
Congress is just doing numbers that areunbelievable with I think a very very small
group of people within Congress. Andit's got to stop. But we have

(06:42):
to go back to the roots. We have to protect we have to stop
the anti Semitism that's just pervading ourcountry right now, and Biden has to
do something. Biden is supposed tobe the voice of our country, and
it's certainly not much of a voice. It's a voice that nobody has heard.
And you look, I don't thinkhe's I don't think he's able to
do it. I don't think he'sgot what it takes to do it.

(07:03):
But he's got to he's got he'sgot to strengthen up, but he's got
to be heard. Well. Ireally think you have a lot of paid
agitators, professional agitators in here too, and I see it all over.
And you know when you see signsand they're all identical, that means they're
being paid by a source. Youknow, these aren't hand painted signs where
people would go to their basement andpaint something because they really believed it.

(07:25):
These are all signs that are identical. They're made by the same printer.
And you know, when you seethat, that means there's somebody atop that's
paying, or a group that's paying, and they're doing great disservice to the
world, but they're doing great disserviceto our country. But when you look
at New York in a state likethis, but look at other cities,
it's not a lot different. It'sfrankly worse in some places than it is

(07:46):
right now in New York. AndI think the New York's finest, New
York City's finest have been incredible. The way they've been. It's not over
yet, but the way they walkedin and the way they climbed through that
window, they were not they werenot afraid of anything, and it looks
like they've got it, maybe plampeddown, but it should never have gotten
to this, and they should havedone it a lot sooner than before they

(08:07):
took over the building, because itwould have been a lot easier if they
were intense rather than a building.Well they should have, yes, yes,
sir, they should have. Theydidn't, unfortunately, so this is
what we're left with. And thisis probably just the beginning, honestly.
I mean, when you take alook at all this, you can probably
bet there'll be a lot more ofthis's going on as long as you know

(08:30):
spring classes are in session. Idon't know if they're going to do it
in the summer. On college campusesbecause you know, there's there's not the
many students there. But it willcontinue. It certainly will continue at the
Democrat National Convention, which is goingto be in Chicago this year. Ironically,
the last time there was mass demonstrationsat the Democrat National Convention it was,

(08:54):
you know, for the Vietnam War, back in nineteen sixty eight.
So here we go again, historyrepeating itself. Right up the road.
The Republicans will be in Milwaukee. We may see it there too. Okay,
quick a little break back with morningMoment Jimmy Bart Show here on the
Am nine fifty KPRC. I Lisaid this this is going to come under

(09:20):
the heading up crazy things that liberalmembers of the media say. And as
as the poll numbers continue to diminishfor Joe Biden, I think the more
desperate some of these people become, especially at channels like MSNBC, who sole
purpose in life seems to be tryingto prop up Biden and to get him

(09:41):
reelected. And of course there's alot of things that they say about Trump.
One of the things they like totry to claim is that Trump will
take away your freedom. Trump isgoing to be a dictator. Is if
we don't live under some sort ofa dictatorship now. And I've said this

(10:05):
many times, you know, forgiveme for repeating this again, but here's
what you find. You find thatthe left accuses the right of doing things
that they are actually doing, thatthe that the right isn't doing. But
they try to make you fearful ofthe right, saying that this is what
they will do, when the leftis already doing it. And these are

(10:28):
some prime examples. Here. Whatis her first name? She's on MSNBC.
She's ohn Cole Nicole Wallace is theirWhite House correspondent for MSNBC, and
she's on yesterday making it sound likeif Trump gets elected, she won't have
a job anymore. There won't beany White House correspondence anymore because Trump won't

(10:52):
be talking to the press. Sohere she is. We get some reaction,
by the way, from a realpress secretary, former Press Secretary Data
Parina. Depending on what happens inNovember, seven months from now, we
can't say for certain that there wouldeven be a White House Correspondence dinner,
or even a free press or evena White House Press corps this time next

(11:13):
year. I might not be sittinghere it might not be a White House
correspondent's dinner or free press. Ithink the press is going to do just
fine if Donald Trump is elected. In fact, they did beforehand. I
don't know why the press isn't complainingmore that he's the one who doesn't give
any interviews or do any press conference. I mean, I was a deputy
press secretary. I loved that job. By no means did I ever think

(11:33):
that my words in a written statementwould substitute for something the commander in chief
ought to say. For example,on the student protest, we have great
statements coming from the deputy press secretarythat is not a substitute. And Joe
Biden not being on camera. It'sa problem. You mentioned Al Jazeera.
Everybody around the country is watching themedia on this. And so I also
thought I thought Nancy Pelosi was reallyrude to Katie tour. She didn't deserve

(11:56):
that, because you can't give Bidencredit for all the jobs created and then
say and also Trump lost all thejobs and not like to point out that
COVID was the reason the jobs cameback, because COVID ended that Katie Ture
did not deserve that. And onJames Carville. I think that we're witnessing
like the six stages of grief,or however many stages of grief there are.

(12:16):
Because he started with passion right andhe was like, we have to
say that Trump is a threat todemocracy, and then he went to,
well Biden isn't doing very good,is he, and now he's raging.
What we might get next week isacceptance. I don't know about that,
but James Carville, it did ahelp and impression of you know, the

(12:37):
old joke about the old bank getoff by loan. He did the Cajun
version of that, talking about twentysix year olds complaining that twenty six year
olds only care about themselves. Theydon't care about real issues, They just
care about themselves. And the reasonwhy he's saying, of course, is
that that generation, that age groupis in particular, is disillusioned with Biden
right now, and they, ofcourse it's the job of every twenty six

(13:01):
year old vote for a Democrat whenthe reality is is that their life is
not working so well at the ageof twenty six and they can't afford to
be that liberal. They you know, they want to have an American dream
someday, They want to own ahome someday. They want to have a
family some day, at least Ihope they do. All right, one
more. I saved this one. This is the best one. Save this
the best for last. Senator JohnKennedy in committee yesterday was talking with the

(13:28):
acting head of HUD Housing and UrbanDevelopment and they're talking about affordable housing,
and Senator Kennedy thought that had beena perfect time to school her on why
housing prices are so expensive. Herewe go. In fact, under President
Baden, a medium price median pricefor an existing home is up twenty eight

(13:52):
percent. I think that there's beenrising housing costs for the past decade,
and the monthly mortgage payment under PresidentBiden is actually up one hundred and forty
one percent, isn't it? Iwas in prices have been going up consistently
over the past decade, and themortgage rates under President Biden are up one

(14:18):
hundred and seventy six percent, aren'tthey. I think the Frontal Reserve is
trying to do something about inflation andelectricity. You need electricity to live in
a home. Since President Biden tookoffice, the average electric electricity prices in
our country have gone up twenty ninepoint four percent, haven't they. I

(14:45):
know that electrical costes and utilities havegone up consistently over the past several years.
No, man, that's not true. Seven years before President Biden took
office, the electricity prices only rosefive percent. Now over now they're up
twenty nine point four percent. Ittakes building materials to build a house,

(15:07):
doesn't it. It does. SincePresident Biden took office, iron and steel
are up twenty eight percent. Isn'tthat true? I don't have that number
in front of me. Okay, aluminum is up seven percent? Is it
not? Under President Biden? Idon't have that either. Okay, eight

(15:33):
fact units an air conditioner for yourhome. Under President Biden, an AC
system is up thirty seven percent, isn't it. I think the pandemic has
something to do with that. That'swhy I find it extraordinary to learn that
HOOD, under your leadership, hasissued a new mandate. All new homes

(15:56):
financed or ensured by the Federal HousingAdministration and HOOD, which is most homes
in America have now got to followthe two hundred twenty twenty one twenty twenty
one International Energy Conservation Code standard. The National Association of Home Builders says that

(16:21):
this new standard is going to addthirty one thousand dollars on top of all
of this inflation to the cost ofa new home. It's pretty amazing,
isn't it. Think about that mandatesthat add thirty one thousand dollars to the
price of a new home, plusall the inflation, building materials costing more,

(16:45):
housing in general costing more. Now, the only one that benefits from
housing costing so much are are thosewho charge us in property taxes as we
feel talk about assessments, because theassessment goes up because the house is more
expensive. So the only one thatgets a big plus out of this are
the people collecting the real estate taxes, not you or me. It just

(17:07):
costs us more money, and thefederal government is just adding on to it.
All right, listen, y'all, have a great day. Thanks for
listening. We'll see you tomorrow morningright early, starting at five am on
