(00:00):
Hey, So Josephine Rose Roberts iswith me part of this big production happening
a wild Rose casino and Clinton thegreatest rock band ever assembled for Broadway.
That's pretty much what this Rock ofAges show is, isn't it. So
is this more of a concert oris this the actual musical? So this
is more of a concert version ofthe show, but you know, no
(00:24):
musical theater a bit about it.It is one hundred percent rock and roll.
All of our musicians were raised onthis music and then most of them
became part of the music by workingwith some of these bands, so they
carry on the legacy of this genre. So we very much focus on the
rock and roll portion of music andlet the music speak for itself. And
(00:46):
I'm going to go out on alimb because i was just looking at you
on on the website. I'm assumingyou do, Pat Benatar, because you
are a dead ringer for Pat Benattar. That is very kind of you.
That is a big compliment. Uhyeah, I mean, come on to
this day, there's not a femalerock star like her, oh for sure.
(01:07):
Yeah, And we are so lucky. One of our bandmates, how
he is the guitarist for her thebasics. So uh, you know,
I meant to go to that bigtour she was on last year with everybody,
but like, what an incredible rosterof songs and to be able to
sing her music. She's just oneof the best rock legends of all time.
And then do you do you dothe jone Jet music as well?
(01:29):
Or does somebody else handle that?Yes? And that's that's who how plays
for? Is jone Jet, pep, natur I do Pat I do Joan.
Let's see we got Debbie in therefrom Blondie. Oh wow. So
yeah, yeah, so we hitup all the big songs. I'll tell
you what, if you look atthis band list of you know, the
music that's covered bon Jovi, ForeignOur Journey, you mentioned Pat Benatar,
(01:51):
Motley Crue, Poison, Joan,Jet Sticks, Twists and Sister Quiet Riot,
it is like everything that I grewup with in the eighties. Yeah,
And I think that's what's so funabout the show is I'll look out
in the audience and sometimes, youknow, we'll do these gig especially in
Iowa we're at the Iowa State Fair. We have people from all ages,
(02:12):
so you've got you know, theolder demographic who had their first date to
this song. Now they're you know, they look over at their husband or
wife and they're like, oh,this is our song. They had their
first kids, something happened in theback of a car to a song I
don't know, and here I amnine months later. But you know,
but then there's like eight five yearold, eight year old and they know
(02:34):
every single word. And I justfind it incredible. And it's a testament
to the quality and just the pureamazingness of that decade of music that it
still lives on. You know, well, I'll tell you what. This
is a five time Tony Award nominatedshow New Year's Eve wild Rose Casino in
a hotel in Clinton. You dohave to be twenty one or older to
(02:57):
go to the show. Ticket startedtwenty five bucks. But it looks it's
just fantastic. And I'm looking overyour resume. You've done a lot of
Broadway and Broadway tours cats. Thathad to be something to be a part
of. Huh. Yes, thatwas amazing. That was in my younger
days. Yes, that was anamazing gig to have. We went.
I was in Iowa for that too. We got to go all over the
(03:17):
United States, Mexico, Canada. So that was like my first big job
out of college and it took meto almost all fifty states. And then
one of my favorite shows growing upas a little little boy, The Electric
Company? When did you do TheElectric Company? So they did a reboot
of that show. Geez, let'ssee two thousand and six. They might
(03:38):
have brought it up like around thattime period, and it was on PBS
Kids and they totally redid it andthey had like a new crew of kids.
And I just was on a gueststar in a role and I played
an alien. So track I shouldlook through our old VHS tapes because I
bet you we've got that our kidsone of them's turning twenty five or just
(04:00):
did, and our other daughter's twentytwo, so that the daughter probably watched
the show, because she would havebeen pretty little when it came out.
I think our son might have watchedit too. Off fouls addiction you my
tape, real old mark that Imight be on VHS. You think you're
old. I have a VHS.I don't know if I have the Beta
max though I'm not that old.Well, this Rock of Ages show sounds
(04:25):
