Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Kelly Golden Show podcast powered by Disaster Pluffs.
On a Big Bail Friday.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Trump reaffirming support for Pete Hegseth and what a firebrand
he showed himself to be at the Capitol in DC.
He says, I don't answer to anyone in this group,
none of you.
Speaker 3 (00:18):
I'm proud of what I fought for. I'm not going
to back down from them one bit. I will answer
all of these senators' questions, but this will not be
a process tried in the media. I don't answer to
anyone in this group, none of you, not to that
camera at all. I answer to President Trump, who received
seventy six million votes on behalf and a mandate for change.
(00:39):
I answer to the fifty one hundred senators who are
part of this process and those in the committee. And
I answer to my Lord and Savior, and my wife
and my family. I'm proud to be here, and as
long as Donald Trump wants me in this fight, I'm
going to be standing right here in this fight, fighting
to bring our Pentagon back.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
This is just the beginning. Trump has made no bones
about the idea and the notion he is he is
putting disruptors in his cabinet because the people have evoked
change with voting for him. We the people want change,
and he's a threat, though many of them are heg
Seth with this pick, this generational snobby, unelected, elitist bureaucrat class,
(01:16):
and they're trying to protect it. I want to get
to leave you here quickly, go ahead, Lee.
Speaker 4 (01:20):
They were so out of step for so many years
trying to do diplomatic solutions to military problems, and you
have a guy here who understands what it takes to
get things done. Too many depends on pushers.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
The percentage of the population who serve in our military.
This guy's a combat veteran Iraq Afghanistan wars two percent
maybe two percent of our population. So absolutely, you're right
they don't understand. Nobody's perfect. And how about we focus
on their qualifications. I mean, the guy is forty four
years old, he's you know, he's intelligent, you know, Harvard grad,
(01:54):
Princeton grad. He's a combat vet of Iraq and Afghanistan wars,
not Tonch of the two Bronze Stars. I mean, this
man has accomplished and the idea that we're talking about
is divorce and emails with mom. It's disgusting, it's disturbing,
and you can't disregard the lobby, the Department of Defense
lobby and DC and the amount of money that is
(02:16):
behind a lot of these lawmakers. And Lindsey Graham is
a total warhawk. And we know that Pete Hegseth is
the guy who is saying no more of this when
it comes to our military and these unnecessary wars and
what it's doing and the toll that it's taking on
our military members. So you know, there's a lot of
(02:37):
money to be made and continuing to have the world
in chaos, and that's the dirty, ugly, awful stuff that
we don't talk enough about. And he's going to up end.
Speaker 5 (02:47):
All of that.
Speaker 6 (02:49):
Listen, we take our finished young men and women and
we send them all to battle and they witness some
pretty horrific things. Anybody who's served like he served the
time and everything that has personality changes. You come home
(03:10):
with PTSD, you've written it and you have to make
peace with yourself. A lot of people do it in
a lot of different ways. So what he had a
little boutworry during his coming back to reality, he drank
a little too much. That's understandable, but look of where
he's come since then, he's back to reality. He's a
(03:34):
true warrior. He's well decorated, so he saw some horrific,
horrific things that goes against our grain as human beings.
But he is truly a survivor, and he's a warrior,
and he deserves he needs to be there because he
(03:56):
understands everything about that situation war than any other person
in the world. And these melee mouth Republicans who decided, well,
we don't want to take a chance with him. They
have no clue as to what our finest young men
and women have to go through. I'm a veteran and
(04:18):
I think he's done exceptionally well.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
Carl, thank you for your service, and I want to
mention this to people who are new to me. My
family goes back generationally in fighting for our freedoms, our
constitution in wars. So as a military family member, I've
lived it. I completely understand the ramifications that come from
serving in the military and serving in war. I share
(04:45):
with American legions and vfw's who invite me to come
and talk about my father service Ranger Bob. He served
alongside the Special Forces in nineteen sixty eight and sixty
nine in Vietnam, came back home, joined up with the
first Special Forces. He didn't lose his life in war
in Vietnam, he lost it when it came home. My
parents were married a decade, they had two children. I
(05:06):
was an infant when they're divorced because my mother recognized
and realized my father couldn't take care of us, he
needed to focus on taking care of himself. So it
changed my family. It's changed so many families, and we
don't talk about that enough, and it's a tough conversation
to have, but we need to continue to have them.
And this is what Pete understands to your point, Carl,
(05:26):
thank you. Let's get it, James, go ahead.
Speaker 5 (05:28):
Pete had HEG sets, and folks like Jonie Ernst too
are like, oh, I'm not sure. It's like you guys
have a slush fund that you pay off people for
sexual assault and stuff like that. And Joni Earnst had
an affair while she was on active duty with someone
in her chain of command. Wow, so she doesn't have
really any room to talk about Pete HEG sas and
(05:50):
whether or not you know what he does and all
that sexual assault stuff that twenty seventeen and everything. You
start reading that and you're like, uh, sounds more like
the lady was upset that she got, you know, us
to cheating on her husband.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
Think about this with Pete Hegseth. He's a lot better
qualified to run the Defense Department than Kamala Harris ever
was to be commander in chief. So Pete Hegseth, you
keep fighting. As always, Thanks for listening. You'll have a
great weekend. Be safe, go and join some Christmas parade.
