(01:00):
for the new Game of Throne spinoff. Plus this movie
that came out this year that's getting a sequel already.

Oh yeah, that's that's interesting.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
It is wild that you forget that movie came out
this year.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
This year because it was like, how long has it been?
Oh wow, really that was this year, like.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
Five months since the game or six months yeah, six
months ago.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Yeah, I was doing this a little inside baseball. I
was doing our sec reports at my job this week
and I was realized, like, oh, that was this month,
that was.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
This year, that was like four years ago at a time.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
And you know, hey, let's face it, you're probably watching
gen V right now not realizing, oh, hey, I have
a whole free thing I can do to help the
podcast and be one of the one of the people.
There you go, find the butt the butterles lost. It's
completely free. It's an easy thing, and you only have
to do it once a month. Uh in which if
you watch us once a month, you're already technically do

(02:46):
doing it right now. Really, you just click the other
option right right there, let's.

Speaker 4 (02:51):
Click the box link to things and there you go.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
There you go limits exactly what Kevin said. But we
start the podcast properly trying to kind of like a
little home room, little check in with everybody, see what
we're doing. We like to call watch you doing. It's
the shows and game shows and shows. We've been watching games,
we've been playing lives, we've been living it. Because I
changed up the cadence. That's when I messed it up.

(03:14):
That's okay, robot Mode said no, because it is Thursday. Yep,
boy gets to go first. Obviously, we're gonna talk about
tront Aris in a little bit, probably like twenty minutes
ish from now. But it was a fun week so far.
Yesterday you got to go to the Caps home opener.
They lost, unfortunately, but that was pretty fun. That was

(03:36):
the first time I've ever been to a season opener
for anything, or actually no, I did go to opening
day for the NACIS year for hockey. At least we'll
say that it was pretty cool. It was a long,
little like preamble thing, which that was really the only
thing that really did extra.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
That's the only thing I've been to a Ravens and
a Oritles home opener, and it's very poping circumstance.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
Yes, and like, hey, we're introing everybody on the team.
I'm like, who's that. I will know them later, but
I don't know them right now. Okay, for the Orioles,
they did.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
They do what they call the orange carpet from center field,
long carpet from the center field to the infield and
it runs down wave fireworks.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
It's the whole thing open.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
And it was funny because on the way there and
the way back, both more, and I got stopped by
people asking about Capitals games because you know, you got
where your jersey got to rock the red when you
go see the Capitals. Uh, this is a fun time.
It's like, hey, you know, we've been doing this for
a while, going to Capitol's games. Who kind of know
a little bit, just a little bit.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
It's it's funny to me because when you said you
were going to the Capitols game, I was like, holy crap,
this hockey season already.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
I think NBA starts soon too, or it has started.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
I think either it has or it's like Wednesday. Yeah,
it's like really really close.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
Yeah, but yes, it was a good time. I will
say where we live now it comes in real clutch
because we found this out probably at the end of August,
so it kind of didn't help with the Natsuh. But
we can park for free somewhere. I'm not going to
give out the heck you gotta DM me if you
want the Hack and Andrew hoodie because after Ford it's
free parking in this parking area and it's right by

(05:09):
the metro. So then we take that and it's like
five metro stops into Gallery Place, which is real nice. Yeah,
free parking DC is Clutchnic is not DC, but it's
closer than some of the DC stops that are in
d C. So it is what it is.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
Went to New York recently, she was like, I forgot
how expensive parking is. It is expensive.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
But on top of that, I've been playing more Go
of Sushima. I've been liking it a lot. I think
it's just fun, Like, all right, what adventure am I
going to go on? I know you've talked about a lot,
but it's fun just you know, see me experience it
and you'd be like, oh yeah, hood he got to
that part. Hood he got to that part. It was
interesting because a lot of it is like if you've
played Assassin's Creed, it's very coded to that to a degree,

(05:53):
but better you know, Assassin's Cream with more steps. Yes,
Assassin's Cream with more buttons pretty much. And that's okay
because I got the Holy Strike or something and that's
been fun.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
That's true.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
You did Are you good with the how you doing
it with?

Speaker 4 (06:07):
You?

Speaker 1 (06:07):
Like?

Speaker 4 (06:08):
The showdowns? Not good?

Speaker 1 (06:10):
Let me go, I do good with the first showdown
or standoff, and then whatever the second and third person.
I'm like, I don't know what I have to do
to get these people dead. I just learned chain assassinations,
Like all right, we're doing something here, you know.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
No, showdowns were so much fun, especially when when you
just minding a business like I get them.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
You're like, all right, yeah, do it. But it's been
really fun. I'm trying to think what I really do
appreciate that the game like each mission or side mission
kind of frames of like, oh, this would be if
you were to watch old like Samurai movies or westerns.
It is. Here's the episode of the week. It's the
Royal Standoff, and here's the here's the episode title. You know,

(06:52):
I thought.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
About maybe trying to play that game in black and
white one day and get like the fully immersive.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
I might just do it for a day and just
like now I know what this when I do like
a big story mission or something, you know, because I've seen.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
A lot of like online like film with ficianos who
love those old sim from sixteen seventies.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
They don't play video games. They love this game for
the exact name. I cannot take good photos. I will
say that though in this cause was everyone's like this
is the game that kind of like, really this and uh,
Spider Man are the ones that pushed photo modes and
modern games now because the PS four PS five, I'm like,
I can take a nice little like I'm.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
Just standing there and here's some wind. But that's it.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Good photo I took it was it wasn't really fair
because it was the scene after in got about ragnar
Rock when transfers to the bear and they both fight
the the breeze is there scene?

Speaker 4 (07:45):
What they kind of they kind of pose one I've ever.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Well, that's a screen that's you screenshotting the game I'm
talking about. I'm going into that I can do because
they're telling me, hey, take a picture of this, whereas
this game is like all right, what do you.

Speaker 4 (07:56):
Want to do?

Speaker 1 (07:57):
All right, I want to change something. And I was like,
I don't know what I did at all, and I
got a trophy for it. I was like, okay, sure
I did that one.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
And I did want in spite of the Miles Morales
in front of Yeah, because we got a trophy if
you took a picture as Miles Morales in front of
the Yewakanda Embassy, the probably the best you've ever done,
don't uh.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
And then two more things. I am pretty much caught
up up until the last volume of Saga, which is
the graphic novel your boy discovered on the train in
New York early this week, and I caught up that fast.
That tells you how good I was enthralled by it.
It sucks because I have Libby, which is the like
digital book app, like you can rent digital books or

(08:37):
comics from your library, and I'm on a waiting list.
I'm like, damn, this sucks. I didn't think I'd get
to this point where I'd be waiting for people to
finish this for this graphic novel. And the Arlington Library.

Speaker 4 (08:50):
I'm annoying. Look it it's digital. Why I have to wait?

Speaker 1 (08:53):
But I think it's more of a licensing, Like they
have one license. I got what it is.

Speaker 4 (08:58):
License can think about.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
Yeah, so we'll figure that. I might be going to
get an actual physical library card at the library tomorrow,
so that'll be wild because I haven't done that in
like twenty years. Probably I have one.

Speaker 4 (09:11):
I can tell you where it is.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
Yeah, but I do appreciate the Libby apps free if
you got the library card, so like that's real nice
because instead of you having to buy Kindle books or anything.
I could just read on that app which is great.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
If you have kids, library is great. Perces actually lot
of stuff for them to do. You kind of can just
like Jost.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
Be quiet and enjoy yourself. And then because we haven't
mentioned in a little bit and it is our favorite
time of the year of Halloween, hugb be Halloween has
been watched in this yere household, shouted out Kevin Moore
hated it. I enjoyed it more the second time.

Speaker 4 (09:46):
I guess the Halloween.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
She's like, this is so dumb. I was like, you
know what, you need some dumb Halloween movies. You know,
It's okay, I can't.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
Wait for twenty years. We get He'll be Halloween Too.
As a geroactrical man, that's gonna bead.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
We got a second Murder mystery movie, right, we did.

Speaker 4 (10:01):
Yeah, we did. It was like two or three years
after the first one.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
Yeah, yeah, He'll be Halloween too. Adam Sandler, Yeah, it
is very like that is a Netflix Adam Sandler movie
compared to Happy Gilmore Too, which that is an Adam
Sandler movie. You know. So that's the difference there. It
is what it then got uncut gems which is an
artistic Adams Sandler movie.

Speaker 4 (10:24):
God, yeah, it's stressful. I hate that movie.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
I see it comes on TikTok, Like, do I want
to try it again?

Speaker 4 (10:30):
No?

Speaker 1 (10:30):
I don't. I don't want to try it again.

Speaker 4 (10:32):
I never swept doing a movie to watch. Yeah, but
yeah it was good.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
Obviously it's just can't be Halloween, which is good. And
obviously it's Kevin's favorite Halloween movie. So we had to
pay our respects to Kevin. And now Kevin, you have
the floor.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
So this week has been a little bit of a
slow week at work.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
It's been kind of one of those weeks where like
it's more email based for me than actual work, and
it's just more administrative. I hate those weeks because I
how do I say this? I do it quicker than
most people. Then I'm sitting there like, shoot, I should
have shown it out a little long longer, so and
I have.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
More stuff to do.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
So I've been looking for a lot of work to do,
and I found it, thankfully. He's been a lot of
a lot of things have happened, but a week work
has been pretty easy. At home, I did start playing
Spider Man again, not not restarting it But going back
to our conversation just we just had about taking pictures.
I began to a rash of those transition picture videos

(11:30):
on TikTok. Told me to uh, to Tom holland to
Andrew swinging.

Speaker 4 (11:36):
I want to try to do that. It's hard.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
It's hard. I need some video editing can handle this.

Speaker 4 (11:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
I thought I could do it like like kind of
have like a little wipe thing, but no, you can't.
I mean there's ai AI, but it's app one a
place that can do it for you.

Speaker 4 (11:50):
Do it great though.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
So I've now just been swinging around and having fun
because it's a great game. Swing around on ti Man.
We never got DLC or that I guess it's confirmed
but rumored multiplayer mode.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
Hey, okay, we're getting Wolverine next year, so we can
we can be abide by that that we're finally getting
woverin at least.

Speaker 4 (12:09):
So that that was cool.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
I Uh.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
As far as Halloween movies go, we did watch Hunted Mansion,
not everyone, but the newer one recently.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
That's a really good movie.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
I don't I know, I know it's not going to
be like a five hundred million dollars movie, but by
solid Halloween.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
And I think, yeah, I think that's the thing with
that movie is sure, and I think it came out
in like August or whatever when it came out. Is
that movie is return on dividends because that'll people be
watching that every year on Disney Plus. And it's easy
to like promote it on Disney Plus and.

Speaker 4 (12:40):
Plus it if you're a parksner like we are.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
Like the scene where actually the doom BUCkies taking people
out of the house, it's like, wow, thank you, So.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
I love it, thank you.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
And then even like the part where they go to
the older mansion, and the older mansion is more based
on the one in Disney World, because when they're in
more based on one in Disneyland, it's like, it's just prime.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
I love it, thank you, thank you? Did I appreciate it?

Speaker 4 (13:01):
I love it?

Speaker 2 (13:01):
So we watched that. I am I got some I
got some good news. I found out some information. Uh recently,
one of my favorite movies coming back to the theater
on October nineteenth, and I think I'm going bot tickets
to go see it.

Speaker 4 (13:15):
I don't think.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
You've ever seen this hood Hoodie, and we may have
to review it Monday, just for my sake, maybe do
for my birthday, I don't know, or my Christmas present.
But it's a fortieth anniversary re released in theaters of
the Last Dragon.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
Dragon.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
It is an eighties black kung fu movie that is
really more of an hour and a half music video
than it is actually. It was produced by Barry Gordy,
who was the record producer one of Prince's old girlfriends
in its vanity yep, and then TIMEX is like the

(13:51):
Bruce Lee type.

Speaker 4 (13:52):
Character in it.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
Sure, it is a dumb funs As a matter of fact,
I don't know if you remember Angela's father from Woman's World.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
I think Kevin. I'm gonna tell y'all, I don't. I
do not ever know who Angela's father was.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
I can't remember the guy's name because he's been in
a lot of stuff.

Speaker 1 (14:14):
Keep going, I'll look it up.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
Julius Julius Carrey like he has a he has a
face where you've seen him in some kind of TV
show at some point as like a I guess character.
He plays the villain in the show Enough Show Enough
is basically this is a big bully who has a
gang in in this. I think they're in Brooklyn, and
I think they're in Brooklyn. They were in Brooklyn on
the Brons. Can't remember one in the movie it's and

(14:35):
it's it's like I said, it's a kung fu based
movie when those movies were like really popular back in
the day with Bruce Lee and all that kind of stuff.
It's just dumb fun I love it. The soundtrack is amazing.
So I'm hoping that my wife will join me. She's
not too a excited about it as I am, but
I'm hoping she'll join me and see. I have never
seen it in theater before. I've only seen it on
tape and on cable as a kid.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
Maybe she'll treat you. She'll say, you can get all
the popcorns you want exactly.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
And I'm I really just want to hear that soundtrack
plumping in a in a movie there, because in the
movie here sound I really want to hear that. But yeah,
if you haven't seen it last dragon, I think it's
on TV right now.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
Yeah, but let that tell you it's on to b
so go in with expectations.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
It was on It was on Netflix for the longest time.
I didn't realize to took it off of there recently,
but yeah, the Last Dragon is really really fun movie.

Speaker 4 (15:26):
But so looking forward to go see that two weeks.
All right, well, let's get on into it.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
Then, while Kevin's prepping and looking for tickets and hopefully
getting prime seating for that, telling like, hey, I want
these seats by these seats for me.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
The best part about it. The opening scene in the
movie is they're in the movie. They're in the movie
watching the movie. People are being too loud and the
fight start. So I want to see that in the Kevin,
don't spoiler for me. Now, come on, now, let's get
on into it.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
It is time for the news, and first things first, realist,
we have to talk about gen V episode six of
season two, So let's.

Speaker 4 (16:06):
Break it down.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
So this one was called Cooking Lessons. And here's the thing.
I don't pay attention to any of any of the
titles for gen V because I don't really see them.
Prime Video does a horrible job giving you the titles
of episodes like some other streaming services do.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
And they kind of like working morning. They're real cute
to episode descriptions where it doesn't tell you what it's about.
This is just about like what's happening around the school, Like,
I get it, I get it.

Speaker 4 (16:35):
Come on, tell me what episodes about?

Speaker 1 (16:36):
Yes, please, but we fun fact, we do have two
episodes ago well and October twenty second, So Lily like, next,
you're in two weeks really, yeah, two weeks technically. But
I thought so far season two has been really good.
I think this one was the episode that really said, hey,
we're gonna actually include this, like felt like we're including
this probably in the Boys final season. Kevin, what did

(16:58):
you think?

Speaker 4 (17:00):
I thought the same thing.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
Like when they were talking about what Thomas Candawlkin was
to both the university and he was to making the
what's it called not V something v uh well, the
chemical that makes them superheroes, yeah v V Yeah.

Speaker 4 (17:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
It made it sound like, oh, this is going to
be an ending game. You guys are getting the whole
band together to make sure that you can take that
homeland because.

Speaker 4 (17:22):
He scares you that much. And also kind.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
Of seeing the return it's a flirtation between Cricket and
Golden Boys brother.

Speaker 4 (17:34):
Again, I was like, oh, I like, I don't have
mess this from last season because they.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
Were kind of cute, So I like saying that, and
it also I just love the main character Marine is
I'm ay Marie made Robin.

Speaker 4 (17:45):
Huey for me.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
Now, I don't know because I really I really not Huey.
I mean it's a milkman, milk mother's milk milk man.

Speaker 4 (17:52):
You know.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
Milkman was my favorite character in the in the Boys, uh,
in the Boys universe, because he's kind of like us
and the like tough this, I got the family.

Speaker 4 (18:01):
I just want to take care of the family.

Speaker 2 (18:03):
Yeah, but she is just so good in this season,
Like I'm really really enjoying her performance. So yeah, I
thought this is with another strong episode in this series.
I feel like nobody's talking about it enough this year.

Speaker 4 (18:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
I think it's really Peacemakers taking the notoriety in the
in the attention at least for this season of gen
V even enough that what what show? What something referenced Peacemaker?
Oh yeah. At the Caps game they played the Peacemaker theme,
So I was like, what that way we're playing We're
playing the Foxy Suzam right now? Like all right, I

(18:39):
was a Caps finger on the pulse right here doing
it baby. But yeah, I think this show, it does
it deserve its attention. It is interesting. This is probably
more of a we gotta wait till the Boys is
over of just like if you were to read the
graphic novel, how it would compare, because obviously don't I
don't think gen V was an aspect. It wasn't really

(19:01):
an aspect so much like the stories for the Tales
of the Boys. So that is an interesting thing of
with your source material. Obviously it's source material for a reason,
and we're gonna talk about something else too. That is
like kind of deviating from source material to degree with
the Nine of the Seven Kingdoms. But it's interesting to see,
all right, we're at the point now where a lot

(19:22):
of times it was, oh, this is Cnnon in the books,
or this is Cannon in the comic books, so it
has to be this is what happens. But I think
we're in the era now of no, that's just where
we started at, and they're coloring the lines where they
want to go.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
If anything, maybe I've never read the the graph novel
of the Boys. I don't know if there's like a
like a throw away a couple of lines about what
Tomas Godautin was and what they how they got to
the super student program. Maybe they used that as the
basis of it and expanding on it a lot.

Speaker 4 (19:53):
But I think if anything, I don't know, you think
it would be less he's in the gend.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
I would think so because just because I feel like
this show ties in so much with the Boys that
it would be like, all right, The Boys is over,
but gen V is still. I mean, it just really
depends what happens with the Boys more than anything, because.

Speaker 2 (20:13):
If anything, just this one spinoff gives me more more
hope of what the next spinoffs could be. And there's
the one with a soldier boy and the one I think
based in like Mexico.

Speaker 1 (20:20):
Something which I doubn't that one's still happening because I
feel like that's that's that's gonna that The Boys Mexico
spin off has gone along the lines of the Ryan
Johnson and Taikow with Ted Star Wars movies, like yeah,
we announced those, but where's ever gonna acknowledge him again?

Speaker 4 (20:35):
You know, God, Ryan Johnson Tuley, That's that's the thing, right, because.

Speaker 1 (20:39):
I think The Boys Mexico was announced the same time
this was announced.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
So right, and I remember thinking about then, I don't
want to see you know, not not not my characters
in college setting. Then you watch it like, oh, and
I get it this. This is actually kind of showing
how bad this world is from each other. So I said,
it gives me more hope. Hope because Soldier Boys is
a cool character. I can't see how they shows him.

Speaker 1 (21:04):
I just want him to do this Soldier boy dance. Uh,
it's been up. But here's what happened. In the actual episode.
Marie in the group actually do escape from Elmira because
we find out Annabeth aka Marie's sister, she has like
tracking sort of precognitive powers, consensed when things are about
to happen or where someone is showing up. Uh. We

(21:26):
find out really still learning about that. Really that yeah,
this whole time, her sister has had powers and has
been keeping it secret the entire time. And it's like, well,
the basis of their whole relationship was only one of
them had powers. Now that was a sham and they
could have actually had an actual relationship.

Speaker 2 (21:42):
I kind of liked that twist too. That and it
wasn't like that she had to sing powers. It was
like she had like the precock powers and she.

Speaker 4 (21:49):
Couldn't control them. What I thought was really cool this happened.

Speaker 2 (21:51):
It kind of happened serradically, and then also the that's
a performance of the actress as playing her sister and
how like, give me an episode. I'm getting you out
of here, and she's like, I don't know who you are,
but I'll get out of here with you. Bafter that
I got to thinking about, I don't know what's going on.
I kind of enjoyed that as well.

Speaker 1 (22:08):
But we find out Sam does actually physically rescue them
from Elmira. They do take shelter in a library where
we find out Emma does contact Harper, you know, the
girl with the tail and the chameleon for like thirty
seconds who she asked her to contact Polarity. But while
Polarity does get the phone call, kind of summing up

(22:30):
the episode from Harper, Cipher is actually in his house.
He does do his meat puppet power out on puppet
Power sure to get Cipher to find out where everyone
is hiding out, but in doing so, he is about
to He's been punishing Polarity the whole time. Polarity kind

(22:51):
of resists them to a degree and is able to
push him back, which is cool physically, which is dope
with his powers.

Speaker 2 (22:56):
It kind of shows showed me two things there showed
how strong the polarity, the polarity power that him and
his son had, how strong it is. I was kind
of tells you that he may not make it through
the end of this series.

Speaker 1 (23:08):
Yeah, I think he might be the sacrifice. If you're
going to sacrifice somebody better not be some other people,
some of them like they gotta live their.

Speaker 4 (23:16):
Hero, please the moral center of the show, and polarity
is more than like Megneedle, right, That's what I was going.

Speaker 1 (23:25):
Yeah, it's a whole thing that's like, sure, it's some
type of power that metal things can be pushed around,
you know. But while this is going on, we do
find out Seipherdess and Vicorps, the Thor knockoff in the
Boys universe. After Marie and the kids at the library,
he does kind of have his way with all of them.

(23:47):
They still haven't really figured out how to tackle him
at all, really, and just when things are about to
hit the fan, Vicorps gets killed by a little girl
who is Zoey Newman growing up. Yep, it's Newman's kid
from last season. Has the past two seasons of the
Boys with the Tentacle Little Predator tentacles coming out of
her mouth and she pretty much dissects his head.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
I still think killing all Victoriaman was kind of a.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
Yeah, And it sucks because I really like that actress.
I was like, she's really good.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
I liked how she was, she was what she was
on her side. She wasn't no one like the boy's
side or or she wasn't on side. She was on
my side. I'm going to figure this out.

Speaker 1 (24:26):
Plus it was cool because she was She's actually Jack
Quade's partner in real life, so it was like, oh man,
that'd have been cool. That's yeah.

Speaker 2 (24:32):
And I heard it was a kind of a rumor
about how she wasn't too keen on the Starlight.

Speaker 1 (24:37):
Being But rumor has it says Kevin something he learns.
It turns out Zoe is teaming up with Stan Edgar. Yep,
John Carlo Esposito is back. Maybe can't go a season
of TV with how John Carlo being on something.

Speaker 4 (24:51):
You know, I don't think we've seen him anything major
since Captain.

Speaker 1 (24:55):
America correct, which was also this year, so.

Speaker 4 (25:00):
That was February. That was top of the year.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
Right now, I cannot wait for our shows, movies and
games at the end of the year, we're like, oh, yeah,
that thing did come out this year.

Speaker 4 (25:09):
About that.

Speaker 1 (25:10):
Now, I haven't played any new games this year. Really,
it's all been old games this year. Hey, that's okay.
That's why it's our our list, not what the list
should be, but it's our list. The kids do decide
to go with Edgar and Zoe. They have a bunker
where it's kind of like off the books. We do
find out Stan explains the Marie that she and Homeland

(25:32):
are Project Odessa's Only Successes, which is a project he
shut down. Sam at the same time tries to reconnect
with them, like keV said, and my back's out the
last second, And we find out that Cipher's work is
actually very similar to Thomas Goadulkin's and it's where the kids
deduced that Cipher's quote unquote father or old man Burton man,

(25:53):
he's been taken care of. Yeah, that's Thomas Godulkin. And
there might be some sort of like maybe Goodulkin and
he's using Cipher for powers or maybe ciphers using Goodulkin's brain.
We're figured that out probably next week, which essentially Cipher
wants to establish sup supremacy and Eventually he does reveal
actually the polarity that he's willing to sacrifice seventy five

(26:15):
percent of the student population to make superheroes even stronger
because he's tired of the was wasteful superheroes essentially.

Speaker 2 (26:24):
Coming about that, but I'll tell you that off the podcast,
because I don't want to get to a thing here.

Speaker 4 (26:27):
But also I thought.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
I was kind of hoping that that guy in the
thing was going to.

Speaker 4 (26:32):
Be Golden Boy. I don't know why I.

Speaker 1 (26:35):
Thought it makes sense. I knew it was Thomas Goodulcanins
the entire time, So like they got Ethan Slater for
five seconds seed, now they got that boy for like
at least two episodes.

Speaker 4 (26:45):
You're right, You're totally right.

Speaker 2 (26:46):
I think I just really liked I can't remember his
first thing, but Sworschniggers Sun Base correct, yep, I really
liked him last season, and I was like seven the
kind of killed him off in that way they did.
I was like, maybe because he was burned. I'm like,
his power was fired.

Speaker 1 (26:59):
Maybe there could be anybody under that body. Eventually we
find out stan Edgar does want to use Thomas Godolka
and Marie to take down Homelander and take back vaut
vat there you go. Uh, but eventually uh everyone goes asleep.
Marie does leave. Kate asked Marie to use her blood
bending is what we're gonna call it, really, uh, to

(27:20):
heal her, to kind of fix her brain, to let
her actually use her powers. Marie refuses, but they both
head off together to confront Cipher, which will be next
week's episode.

Speaker 2 (27:31):
And I'm still because so the Cipher have powers or
are using He's using that device because remember they show
the device that maybe can control soups as well, So
I kin kind of curres about how how does all
want to shake out?

Speaker 1 (27:43):
We'll find out, but regardless, is still good. If you've
been sleeping on gen V, definitely catch up because there's
only two of episodes left and then gotta wait probably
till March for the boys most.

Speaker 4 (27:52):
Likely, Yeah, March, well maybe even early maybe late spring.

Speaker 1 (27:58):
Knows, who knows. But Kevin, we will have a show
before March. And we had to head on over to
Reaction Theater to break down the trailer for a Night
of the Seven Kingdom. Yeah, Kevin, you're excited for nine
of the Seven Kingdoms? Do you even know anything about it.

Speaker 4 (28:22):
Trailer earlier.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
I remember them talking about the concept wise of this
earlier and earlier in during Basically they would come up
all these Game of Thrones to spin offs. This one
sounds the most interesting telling to me. And now that
I see the trailer, I'm like, I like this different
theme of Game of Thrones.

Speaker 1 (28:40):
And very anti magic. At least it'll start off as
most likely we did see.

Speaker 4 (28:46):
A dragon in the trailer at some point, a little
bit man.

Speaker 1 (28:48):
We'll find out. We'll find out. Well, let's get onto it.
We'll watch it, then we'll talk about it. You're ready, Kevin,
Let's do it alright. Three one in about Squire to
Sir Squire Squire, I was a boy that's tire as
a lass.

Speaker 4 (29:07):
They charged me to be a good knight.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
To defend the week. In the end, I'm gonna take
on this Irish accent.

Speaker 4 (29:15):
I mean, you know you want a good.

Speaker 2 (29:16):
Job, are you, Baylor Tar Garry?

Speaker 1 (29:21):
No? No?

Speaker 4 (29:22):
Then would you move the fuck out of the world.

Speaker 1 (29:28):
What's your name? So drunk and the tall egg shaped
head every.

Speaker 4 (29:33):
Night in the Seven Kingdoms.

Speaker 2 (29:38):
As Robie and I'll hunt you down with dogs dogs.

Speaker 4 (29:46):
I'll get some.

Speaker 1 (29:53):
Gaping my loss.

Speaker 4 (29:55):
I'm not a stable boy, my lord not clever enough.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
Here you I know the head.

Speaker 5 (30:01):
Sometimes I think there could be more.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
Still skip from.

Speaker 5 (30:10):
Why do you train these royal laptops like they are better?

Speaker 3 (30:14):
Are better?

Speaker 1 (30:17):
I'm training? What chance do I have?

Speaker 4 (30:22):
I have no chance boring Starburn's lack to those who
see it.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
So the look is ours alone alone. Look, man, here's
your Game of Thrones. This is gonna be like the
last episode of the season.

Speaker 4 (30:38):
You already know.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
The war game I need to fight that will be
called war games?

Speaker 4 (30:45):
Do I think my courage?

Speaker 2 (30:48):
There are many?

Speaker 4 (30:53):
All right, there was a.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
Dragon, could be just.

Speaker 4 (31:02):
It'd be two.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
Hell yeah, cool shot that drone shot right there? Hell yeah,
hell yeah, I'm down for that. That looks like a
fun time.

Speaker 4 (31:20):
It looks like a lot of fun.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
It looked literally looks like a more relaxed telling of.

Speaker 4 (31:27):
The Game of Thrones.

Speaker 2 (31:28):
Lower in the Game of Thrones world, where it's not
all who's going to win the throne, who's going to
win the war?

Speaker 4 (31:33):
Who's the red witch? You know who had the bigger dragon?

Speaker 1 (31:37):
Said Hey, we're gonna explore a side story in this universe.
One hundred years before the actual show, takes place.

Speaker 4 (31:44):
I can't remember how long is House the Dragon before
House of the Dragon?

Speaker 1 (31:50):
Is it a thousand or two years? Might?

Speaker 4 (31:52):
I think you're right, it might be like in a
couple of hundreds before this.

Speaker 1 (31:58):
One hundred and seventy two, so this is like seventy years.
If anything, we will get an old version of a
character from House of the Dragon, most likely popping out.

Speaker 2 (32:06):
But yeah, I don't know who this actor is playing
the main night. I don't know who the kid is either,
but just from this trailer, the on screen chemistry it
seems really good.

Speaker 1 (32:16):
Oh yeah, I would figure that's probably something they tested.
The actor who is playing Sir Duncan the tallest, Peter Claffey,
who is an Irish actor and a former rugby player.

Speaker 4 (32:27):
That's he's a big boy, you know, sight And.

Speaker 1 (32:32):
The kid who is playing Egg who essentially spoilers will
be Eggon targarian A descendant. This is kind of relatively
his newest, his biggest thing most pretty much. Obviously, the
trailers came out because New York Comic CON's going on
right now, so it makes sense. Oh yeah, but I
think this is really cool. Obviously, the six will be

(32:52):
six episodes season premier will be January eighteenth, twenty twenty six,
so wrap up right around March, so then there's your
boys right after you can watch it right after.

Speaker 4 (33:04):
Now now you got now.

Speaker 2 (33:05):
Now you have me a little like it was gonna
be egg on tag Ergan. I wanted, he's gonna be
that one that was actually in Game of Thrones and
they didn't figure out what was the tag Arian until
like John left the Knights.

Speaker 4 (33:14):
Watch that be interesting?

Speaker 1 (33:16):
Yeah, and it'll be interesting like if this does well,
and I think this is gonna be a true litmus
test on can House or Game of Thrones. Really, House
the Dragon is really just a prequel. It's not really
a spin off. It's a prequel. This is actually a
spin off more. I mean it's in the same it's
a rogue one to anything, but like this is like, hey,

(33:36):
nothing pertinent really here. Maybe you'll hear some names and
stuff like that, but it's like, oh, here's the Ice
King popping out of nowhere. Ten.

Speaker 4 (33:45):
I also wonder to.

Speaker 2 (33:46):
Now if if the kid's ball because he's a tag
Arian and nobody wants to see his hair.

Speaker 1 (33:50):
He's a second he's the actual heir, but they chopped
off his head or something or chopped up his hair.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
I will love though, like you said, uh, just kidding
nuts other people in the series when they play the
dark theme, I can't wait.

Speaker 1 (34:01):
Yeah, and so this is interesting. Speaking of themes, they
did say showrunner Ira Parker, this will not have the
Game of Thrones intro. It'll be a short, little stinger intro.
I think it's messed up, but based on the trailer,
I do like the little like loot vibe or whatever.
It's like Irish guitars play ed sheer, any guitar it's playing.

Speaker 4 (34:23):
But yeah, I feel like they could have Irish Irish.
They could have irished it up. I would, I would.

Speaker 1 (34:27):
I would appreciate a different variation of it, like a
minor major chord version of it, you know.

Speaker 2 (34:32):
And I feel like the Game of Thrones theme is
this is the Game of Throne things the Game of Thrones.

Speaker 4 (34:36):
It's Star Wars crawls.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
The Star Wars.

Speaker 2 (34:38):
I don't want to go see a Star Wars talcking
move about a crawl. I mean, Rogue did it and
it was great, but it wasn't about Skywalker's any Every
Skywalker movie has a crawl.

Speaker 4 (34:45):
I need.

Speaker 1 (34:47):
And it it will look like the episodes will range
from thirty minutes to about fifty minutes, so set expectations,
which is great because Game of Thrones are touristly that
episodes are really long. But yeah, I'm excited, and then
I don't know if this gets a season two. We
originally thought, you know, House of the Dragon was only
gonna be a one donner, but it really just depends
who chimes in, because you historically, HBO does very well

(35:11):
if it's January premiere, shows Peacemaker, Last of Us kind
of the big most recent ones, and House the Dragon
also was a January premiere originally.

Speaker 2 (35:21):
So by the way, did you see that one episode,
one of the episodes of Things this year is going
to be two hours long?

Speaker 1 (35:26):
Yeah, speaking of Stranger Things, we can head on out
of actual reaction theater because we've seen the trailer enough.
Did you see that Target has a whole aisle dedicated
to Stranger Things? And you probably haven't been a Target,
but I was there the other day just to look
for Pokemon cards really, but it was pretty cool to
see back like that was a nineties two early two thousands,
I think of it. A whole aisle was dedicated to

(35:47):
one ip.

Speaker 4 (35:48):
I can't. I can't think of any strange things swag
I want.

Speaker 1 (35:53):
It was toys, and there was stranger things Dorito's and Oreos.
But I was like, hey, I'm okay the theming this year,
at least that's appreciate.

Speaker 4 (36:01):
Well, the eggs in the freezer yet oh.

Speaker 1 (36:03):
They did not have egos there, but they might have
been the freezers. There's a different section. But yeah, as
a child of the nineties and two thousands, uh, it
is very sad going to a Target or Walmart and
scenes to wre Star Wars used to be a whole
potentially both sides of an aisle, now being the eighth
of one aisle, you know.

Speaker 2 (36:23):
Yeah, and then even like I feel like I have
two girls, even though Barbie als drinking and shrinking alms
like come on, y'all.

Speaker 4 (36:32):
Come on, you're good. Say we had a movie, come on,
milk that one.

Speaker 1 (36:37):
Give me all the dolls.

Speaker 2 (36:39):
And it's just like the same thing, the Barbbie plane,
the Bobby jet, Like, what's the difference between the planet.

Speaker 1 (36:43):
It's different, very same thing with any jet that comes
out now and its it's a difference. It's worth safer,
it's safer. Please yeah, I get so. Thank god we're not.
But speaking of ip's were really appreciating. Actually, it's Warner
Brothers that runs HBO Max and did the Barbie movie,
so that worked out. Talking about that, Warner Brothers has

(37:03):
actually said, you know what, everyone really liked the Minecraft movie,
or at least everyone saw it this year. Let's go
ahead green light sequel. It's coming out in twenty twenty seven. Baby,
And in somewhere.

Speaker 2 (37:15):
Every theater worker in the world said no Chicken Jockey too,
And today thousands of Rextent Nations letters were tender to
AMC real.

Speaker 1 (37:26):
Oh yeah, well, I think the easiest thing too, is
like I think mine the Minecraft movie. Did you ended
up watching it?

Speaker 4 (37:32):
Right, Kevin? I watched part of it. I watch the
whole thing.

Speaker 1 (37:35):
Ohah, we got majority probably from TikTok as well. Is
that like the Minecraft movie did really good for being
an IP that has some story, but it's really like,
you gotta look for that story. I'm like, all right,
here's here's our playing field. Great, now we can tee up,
we could do nether stuff, we can do all the
dragons and all that other stuff that people don't really

(37:56):
know about. To have people come familiarized with the game,
and then give Xbox money to play it game best.

Speaker 2 (38:03):
Another thing too, is this movie made ninety one hundred
and fifty seven million.

Speaker 4 (38:07):
Dollars at the movie.

Speaker 1 (38:09):
It was close to a bill, really close.

Speaker 4 (38:11):
To a bill.

Speaker 2 (38:12):
I'm gonna look look up his budget real quick because
I don't think it made I think it made a
lot of money back on his budget.

Speaker 4 (38:18):
Minecraft's Minecraft franchise.

Speaker 2 (38:21):
But at the same time, it was it was no
way in the world it wasn't not going to get
get a sequel because it made that much money. Yeah,
like that's the way it works. With the budget was
one hundred and fifty million dollars. Yeah, with marketing, we're
probably looking at like two two ten. So this movie
made all his money back.

Speaker 1 (38:40):
So the Minecraft Movies official socials tweeted out and posted
today building terrain see you in theaters July twenty third,
twenty twenty seven, with two of the pickaxes over a
crafting table, which I know that now because of the
movie what that is makes sense. I mean you arguably
might have been the biggest movie of the year. I think,

(39:01):
even over Superman and Fantastic Four.

Speaker 2 (39:04):
I think it was a high Schots movie of the
year until Stitch Stitch.

Speaker 1 (39:09):
Yeah, z Utopia two maybe, who knows. Zutopia does weird numbers,
you never know when it comes out. And Wicked obviously
we have next month as well, so those could be
its real contenders for biggest blockbuster of the year. The
interesting caveat with all this though, Kevin July twenty third,
twenty twenty seven. What also comes out that day?

Speaker 4 (39:30):
That a warm or tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (39:32):
The Simpsons Movie two comes out the same day, Disney
Warner Brothers going up head to head. No, it's not
a Barbenheimer situation. It is a is a battle. You're
gonna have your gen z jen Alpha versus your millennials,
gen xers and boomers seeing the Simpsons movie. Oh that's

(39:53):
that's smart. You can drop off your kids and go
see Minecraft. What you're going on to say the Simpsons
movie a good point.

Speaker 2 (39:59):
My daughter torus he hates this movie so much because
he said, ever since the movie came out, the boys
and school act like jerks.

Speaker 4 (40:04):
I don't like it.

Speaker 1 (40:05):
They keep saying chicken jockey and don't understand it.

Speaker 2 (40:10):
Also, I'm seeing announcement they announced like the original cast
coming back, or they haven't.

Speaker 1 (40:16):
We're talking for minecraft movie. Yeah, as of right now,
they haven't. They did confirm that Jared Hass, who did
direct the first movies, coming back for the sequel as
well as the original writer. Expectation is Jack Black and
Momoa will come back. Who knows about the kids, uh
and out of Bayo because she was also in that movie,

(40:37):
which is wild. If they'll come back, you never know,
You never know, really, Yeah, cause I was.

Speaker 2 (40:45):
I was kind of more happy enough for Momoa and
Jack Black, they are established, but for Daniel Brooks was
so kind of up and coming. She was Kenny Moore
nominated for.

Speaker 1 (40:54):
For Orange's New Black Color Purple. She's in a bunch
of stuff you don't realize.

Speaker 2 (40:59):
It, and I feel like her now because the sense
of peacemaker her name is certain to arise.

Speaker 4 (41:03):
So I'm happy. I'm hoping she comes back to this
so she kind of can.

Speaker 1 (41:06):
Runway get the paycheck and get the paycheck at the
same time.

Speaker 4 (41:09):
Give me a dollar.

Speaker 1 (41:10):
We respect it. But tentatively, yeah, this will be for
twenty twenty seven. You're big had to have movies, I
mean it makes sense. I think movie companies and theaters
are realizing movies coming out of the same weekend is
best for business because people will go see the movies
a Friday, Saturday or Double Duty in the same day exactly.

Speaker 2 (41:31):
And it's kind of like you just said, they'll both
be somewhat animated movies. Of course, Simpson be more animated
than this one is potentially like you said too.

Speaker 4 (41:43):
Though the whole family go to the movie theater.

Speaker 2 (41:46):
I'm pretty sure that both these movies will have a
similar rummer time, like no more than ninety eight ninety
seven minutes, you know what I mean. So kids, you
go watch Minecraft, my my dad can watch Simpsons, and
we'll meet in the food court after the movie. By
the way, I do think one thing they need to
do is at least bring back Jack Black, because Jack
Black has proven.

Speaker 4 (42:07):
Gold for video games.

Speaker 1 (42:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (42:09):
Well, I wanted to be Brock and Gun and got.

Speaker 2 (42:11):
A war series on Amazon Prime, like he needs to
be brock, like nobody else needs to be brock with
Jack Black.

Speaker 1 (42:16):
Well, they also are. And I think the other thing
is they are doing a Jumanji three, which comes out
December eleventh, twenty twenty six. Obviously that's the rock Kevin Hart,
Jack Black, Haron Gillen they're all in talks to come back,
and that's an easy movie to film because really just
go on location. But that's kind of where you saw
that Jack Black effect really start. I know that obviously

(42:38):
the Rock and Kevin Hart, but Jack Black kind of
carried the first movie for sure, and then he's kind
of just been in this era of like, yeah, you
put Jack Black in your movie just to have Jack
Black in your movie, say thing with the Anaconda movie
coming out, you know in December.

Speaker 2 (42:50):
Oh ye, so yeah, it was that one. Then he
was Bowser of course, which is just Jack Black.

Speaker 1 (42:57):
It wasn't him doing him doing a driver always like
that was it him? Right?

Speaker 2 (43:02):
That crazy song like Jack Black is definitely I feel
like in his Black that makes sense to Jack that.

Speaker 1 (43:10):
I don't know if either of those are the right.

Speaker 4 (43:14):
I don't know which one it is.

Speaker 1 (43:15):
He's in his era, he's in his duffy right now.

Speaker 4 (43:17):
I I don't know if you ever saw it. Same
in Silverman from Back in the Day.

Speaker 1 (43:21):
That is a deep cut of movie. But that's that entertainment. Yeah,
I'm trying to think. Also, oh, that's what I'm talking about.
Peaches the song from Mario movie. He'll also be in
Mario movie too, when that comes out yep, next year,
I believe. I think if I remember, is when I

(43:41):
was at Universe Studios crowd when they had that song
featured in the Little Fireworks Nighttime displaying crowd. That was
the hypest moment the kid crowd went versus Shrek, versus
Kung Fu Panda. It was the Peaches song over anything else.

Speaker 4 (43:59):
The video going around.

Speaker 2 (44:00):
I think it was a kid out of Pennsylvania somewhere,
but they had like a school talent show and the
kid played Peaches, and the entire gymnasium pages, pages, it
went everywhere.

Speaker 1 (44:11):
The teacher's like always starting to write right now by
the beaches outline the auditorium. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (44:17):
I mean it is a thoughtful song. I was singing
to my wife. I'm actually later maybe so she could
slap me hilarious.

Speaker 1 (44:25):
I don't know what you guys do in your house.
That's what you guys do.

Speaker 4 (44:30):
Either way, exciting times.

Speaker 1 (44:33):
We always love it. Just we I think we benefit
the most out of it really just to see multiple
movies that same weekend or early depending. But speaking of
movies that's in the Deer or actually not in the
ear that's the far future. Let's talk about the immediate
near future. And Kevin, we actually have to go somewhere.
Do you know where? We have to go? The grid

(44:56):
because we're talking about tron Aries, Kevin.

Speaker 4 (45:03):
So I'll hope them to the grand twice. And it
was March. How about her experience.

Speaker 1 (45:11):
I was saying the song you're hearing right now, that
was the high part of the movie. We're gonna talk
about the trailer the movie right now, so I got
the shocked real quick. And that music was good. So
your boys saw tron Aries. We're gonna sort of do
a non spoiler mild spoiler review just to let you

(45:32):
know what you're going in for. Man, that music was
so good. I'm gonna play that again at the end
of the podcast at the end. But it was one time.
It was one time. Tron Aries, in case you didn't know,
is technically the third Tron movie, technically the fourth Tron property,
because there is a Tron Rising show on Disney Plus
that was on Disney XD back in the day. Animation

(45:54):
looks a little rough on a little rough on it
because they were going for like a stylized thing. Because
Disney XD, they kind of could do whatever they wanted.
How it got Star Wars Rebels, So we'll take it. Man,
what a great show. But this is the last movie
we had, I believe was twenty ten's Tron Legacy, which

(46:15):
notoriously when I talked about that and I'll watch you
watch it in a couple of weeks ago, Mora's first movie date.

Speaker 4 (46:22):
I'm like, no, no, no, no, no no more.

Speaker 1 (46:24):
Did not go to see Tron Areas with me because
she forgot the plot of Tron Legacy. And you don't
need to remember it either, because they really don't honor
they really don't care about Tron Legacy. They pick maybe
five bits from that movie and that's it.

Speaker 2 (46:38):
Well, I mean, honestly, from what I remember about Tron Legacy,
not much was taken from the original Tron because it
was more about getting that girl out of.

Speaker 1 (46:49):
Jeff Bridge's face was taken from the original movie. But
that's the whole thing.

Speaker 4 (46:53):
Sportfully wait and ended up looking. But this movie does.

Speaker 1 (46:58):
Star Jared Leto. It was about I think two hours,
like really like right out on the two hour beat mark.
Who else is in it? Greta Lee is in it
as well. She's in a bunch of FX shows if
you know, if you watch any of those, Yes, tron
A cast Evan Peters is a villain. He's actually a

(47:20):
Dillinger in this movie. So if you know you're tron history,
Dillingers are pretty much the bad guy and everything Jeff
Bridges comes back to. You have Gillian Anderson and Jodie Turner.
Smith is one of the villains, and Blinke and he
missed a cameo. Cameron Monaghan is in this movie for
five seconds, and I was like, wait a second, he's
in the title sequence.

Speaker 4 (47:41):
Why is he? I didn't know he was in this movie.

Speaker 1 (47:43):
You wouldn't remember because he was in it for ten
seconds at most.

Speaker 4 (47:47):
Well, okay, he got peeved.

Speaker 1 (47:50):
It was a pop for me because like, oh Calcastus,
and no one else in the theater was like pop
for him, cow loot me.

Speaker 4 (47:59):
You doing a Jedi lip? You're doing it.

Speaker 1 (48:02):
I can't wait to see that next year hopefully. Oh yeah,
oh pezse But toront Airs here's a synopsis, follows a
highly sophisticated program are. He's played by Jared Leto, who
sent from the digital world into the real world on
a dangerous mission marking humankinds first encounter with a I beings. Essentially,

(48:23):
it's what would have happened if Trono Legacy actually happened
in the AI crossover in the real world. And I
will say, what the trailer did made me think this
is going to be a different movie than it actually was,
which really is a good or bad thing because it's
not as predictable as you thought it was going to
be based on the trailer, all right, So it was.

Speaker 2 (48:40):
More one of those marketing points where the trail makes
it look like this.

Speaker 1 (48:45):
Yes, the trailer makes it look like it's Pixels where
you know, like the Aliens video game world was taking
over the planet. This not so much mainly that essentially
the Evil Corpse. It's dylaner versus n comm and com being,
you know, the good guys for tront and everything that
they're competing to see who can get the permanence code
to allow digital beings to permanently be in the place

(49:08):
they are instead of having to de rez every thirty minutes.
That's kind of the main central point of what they're
fighting for. But lo and behold, you know, Jared Leto,
he's gonna go rouge baby, wouldn't move. It's right, that
is true. That is true. I will say Jared Leto
is pretty good in the first half. I actually have

(49:30):
my little letterbox reviews like Jared leedle had me in
the first half because he's very having to be a
program in AI, having to talk robotically and his soft
spoken voice but also like monotone voice at the same
time really works. And it's the second half You're like, ooh,
he's finding life and personality and that's not what we want. No,
think you it's getting a little close to Morbius right now.

Speaker 2 (49:53):
Oka say, what was it as bad as Morbius or
Joker or was it kind of another dventure?

Speaker 4 (49:59):
Ah? But I don't remember being that bad in more
because this is a bad movie all around. Yeah, and his.

Speaker 1 (50:04):
Joker was okay, it was different. It's just behind the scenes.
Shennanigas that's what caused them. Yeah, yeah, this movie. I
mean I think this, like I said, the first half
had me. I thought it was pretty good. I will
say acting overall is me. I think it's maybe just
the story, but this movie really is a sign of

(50:25):
the Tron franchise. Great concepts, great visuals, amazing soundtrack which
I'll get to in a little bit, but the plot
and the story just ain't there, baby.

Speaker 4 (50:36):
And that's really hot.

Speaker 2 (50:37):
I feel like there is maybe an edit of all
three Tron movies together with like two hours.

Speaker 1 (50:42):
They could be it could be.

Speaker 5 (50:45):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (50:45):
And the funniest thing is, Kevin, do you care if
I go in to Miles. I mean, I've been kind
of three miles spoils already. I've been and I've been
the grid enough. I'm good. I don't even go back.
Great come to me, which is what those movies about.
This movie starts practice the same way Tron Legacy starts,
and I'm like.

Speaker 5 (51:02):
Oh no, We're not doing this again because it kicks
it starts off with Jeff Bridges, young Jeff Bridges doing
a speech on TV about the digital revolution.

Speaker 1 (51:13):
You're like, no, and it is definitely a deep fake.
But we're in twenty twenty five, so it looks decent now.
Believe me. I believe some of those WWE deep fakes
that have been popping up on TikTok.

Speaker 4 (51:25):
Oh. Man, I've seen I've seen so many.

Speaker 2 (51:28):
I saw one another day of Notorious Big and Tupac
ring together.

Speaker 1 (51:33):
I saw dots in wrestling a vacuum today, I was
all right, sure it knows me now dog and wrestling.
But anyway, you're like, oh no, And the intro is
a little weird, just of like the same thing Tron
Legacy had. But once it gets going, it's okay. But
then it's the human parts they like, I don't really

(51:55):
vibe with it, and then it kind of flips it
on itself. Halfway to the movie. We're like, I like
the human parts, not so much. What's going on with
Jared Leto as an AI.

Speaker 2 (52:03):
It's that seems to be the thing about like I say,
the series, Like even with the first Tron and the
second one, the acting is always kind of wooden, But
what draws you win is the actual the grid and
the technology around the world.

Speaker 4 (52:14):
Like how was like there's that one.

Speaker 2 (52:15):
Scene in the trailer where like the grid jet destroys
a regular jet.

Speaker 4 (52:19):
How was the the action?

Speaker 1 (52:21):
Uh? Yeah, So I think the coolest, like the coolest
thing is and it's in the trailer. You see the Tron,
the light cycle and the sort of jet, and obviously
I think I believe it's I might be the Ravager,
don't quote me on that, which is the big little
like bracket looking ship coming in the real world and
there's a tank. I thought it was pretty cool. It's

(52:41):
an interesting what they do to say like the world
building of yes, they came in the real world, but
their effects really didn't because they do the little light
behind them. But it doesn't like kill anybody immediately or
de resum It just it's like, oh, it's a light,
it's a wall. I can't get through more than anything,
which like, ah, it's that's not what I wanted, you know, and.

Speaker 2 (53:01):
That'd be funny though I was thinking about this. Actually, uh,
this was also was a plot the plot I think
the things for four where they were put in the
grid basically and everything in the game happened in SADAS
virtual world.

Speaker 1 (53:14):
Yeah, well, and that's the thing. This movie has three acts.
Really the second act is very quick, very very quick,
and it wasn't I wasn't expecting that to happen because
pretty much that when the digital beings come in to
the word world, they have a thirty minute timeframe and
it once they're up the ad Rez, but there's a
backup playing and then you get sucked up into the

(53:36):
tron wheld the grid, which is cool, but you're like, oh, wait,
this is interesting, and then nope, we're going back to
the real world.

Speaker 4 (53:43):
Ignore what happened in the past twenty minutes. It's a
whole thing.

Speaker 1 (53:47):
I think it is as that's definitely like, oh, we
want to change up the visuals and see how you're
looking at in the movie.

Speaker 4 (53:53):
I will say this movie is a visual delight.

Speaker 1 (53:55):
I think it is worth the IMAX and doleby up
charge if you're going to go see it, because I
think that's just the way you should see this movie,
because it's very pretty. If you got back lights at home,
that will help when it's on Disney Plus. But the
thing that saves this movie nine inch Nails kills it
with the soundtrack. Literally we say I just sampled it
when we started this bit, but immediately off the rip,

(54:19):
they're playing a song. In the beginning of this movie,
Eric and I are just dancing and it's just like robotics,
just like this is how like nineties in early two
thousands was dancing. They're just dancing on the beat. You're
not you're not shaking your butt, You're going.

Speaker 4 (54:32):
I actually do.

Speaker 2 (54:33):
Think they're currently playing that. Most of some of that
soundtrack in the Magic Kingdom Ride. They flipped in red
for the villain. I think actually playing that that soundtrack
there too, because I saw a video of the old
one that's not.

Speaker 4 (54:43):
The one I heard in the December keep it going very.

Speaker 2 (54:46):
Heroic and very you know, like you know, sweeping and dramatic,
but now I heard bass.

Speaker 1 (54:52):
Yeah, babe, let's go entire movie. That soundtrack kills it.
If you like the Daft punk one from Tron Legacy,
I think this one's better just because it's like you're like,
you're feeling it, like you said, you're feeling that base.
And that's why I think i'max and Dolby is great
for that, because you're just constant in your head the
whole time we're watching this movie. I will say they

(55:13):
do something in the back third of this movie visually
is really cool. I won't spoil it, but it is
a cameo reason why. But I thought it was really
interesting for a movie you can called Tron. Tron's not
even in the damn movie at all. But that's just
that's me.

Speaker 2 (55:33):
That's where like, cause I don't remember Tron being just
a bunch of Tron Legacy either.

Speaker 1 (55:37):
He well, he was, he was Wrensler, Kevin he was.
He was the side minion until the very last five
minutes of that movie.

Speaker 2 (55:43):
But you would think, though that, especially this day and age,
that marketing your hero as Tron would have been like
the thing to do.

Speaker 4 (55:52):
I mean, uh, off, Tron is Chris Evans, Like, oh
my gosh, oh my god.

Speaker 1 (55:56):
It's not Bruce box Slider anymore.

Speaker 4 (55:58):
It's Chris.

Speaker 1 (56:00):
To that element, there is connection to Tron legacy, and
I think at the very end of this movie, and
I think they are trying to tee up a sequel
in some form with Kira uh.

Speaker 2 (56:12):
Ra.

Speaker 1 (56:13):
Now, yes, there was another Kira in Disney Lower. Oh,
there also is a good Kira reference with a little
there's a little light cycle slide. I'm like, oh, Akira,
and no one else got it, but I was like,
I got it. I know what you're going for their
director the villain, Like I said, they do tea up
a sequel in some form. I personally think this franchise

(56:36):
would be good as a Disney Plus show on the
levels of FX think and or I think, really if
they got I mean not necessarily Tony Gilroy, but maybe whoever,
who who did who did the alien who did Alien.

Speaker 4 (56:54):
I can see his face.

Speaker 1 (56:55):
He did Noah Holly. They got Noah Holly behind this.
I think doubt be really cool Disney Plus show, especially
because Disney Plus right now is kind of even a
weird era of like Marvel doesn't want to do any
more shows as much as it can be. Star Wars
is kind of there. But I think a Tron show
would be pretty cool, and that they could do something
cool to streaming services like oh the episode got d rez,

(57:17):
you have to go find it somewhere else, or something
like that.

Speaker 2 (57:19):
You know, I agree, And I'll also say I think
they should just do an animated show.

Speaker 1 (57:23):
Well they did it was Tron Rising and watched it,
but I think, let me rephrase that, a better animated show.
I think if they most of the cast here besides
Jared Letto, you could get for a Disney Plus show.
I just don't. I mean, we'll find out this weekend.
I don't think a lot of people are gonna see
this movie in theaters. They'll probably wait till it's on
Disney Plus. So that's why I think invest in the show.

(57:43):
A lot of people in the cast have been in
shows in some form that are really good do it
that way, and I think that would be a banger
of a hit and really redefine and really define Tron
going forward.

Speaker 2 (57:54):
You know, any I already says it's gonna be a
mat and a movie for her, But like I said,
I think it should do, like I said, a better
animated show, because that way you're not really limited by
a You're still limited by a budget, but you can
do more.

Speaker 4 (58:06):
Like you said, those fantastic virtual shots.

Speaker 2 (58:09):
An animated show then will be because you can't justify
a big TV budget for what is still a very
very niche platform.

Speaker 4 (58:17):
And Tron like it.

Speaker 2 (58:18):
Could be great, but for some reason, all three of
kind of just like eh, I like Tron, but you know,
it's okay.

Speaker 1 (58:24):
I'll put it on the same thing as the Avatar franchise,
but hate me or not the Avatar franchise.

Speaker 4 (58:31):
Yeah, but Avatar.

Speaker 2 (58:32):
I don't think that says the Avatar like you said,
but this one fantastic visuals like Pandora looks like a
real place. You actually can kind of visit it, and
I really wanted to. But again, the story of Avatar
is it's thin. I think they're getting a little bit
better every time. I think this third one is going
to be the one that hook me personally. But you

(58:54):
don't go to Avatar for the for the compelling story.
You go for like, man, this looks incredible.

Speaker 1 (58:59):
Yeah over, Although if I were to give a score personally,
i'd give it at most of seven out of ten
light cycles. I think mostly that is because of the soundtrack.
If you don't want to watch the movie, listen to the
nine inch Nail soundtrack if anything, because that's really good.

Speaker 4 (59:18):
The question is.

Speaker 2 (59:19):
Does the movie experience I guess maybe dim your excitement
for riding the ride in Disney World.

Speaker 1 (59:25):
It's oh, that's interesting. I mean, they do feature the
light cycle a lot in this one. I think in
the second one they didn't really they had a scene,
but it wasn't really like featured a lot. In Legacy,
I think it does because you're like, I want to
go ride that by So it is weird to me
that the tron area like, oh, we're like, oh, do
you want to make yourself a digital action figure where

(59:47):
your digital faces on the action figure? No, I don't, Like,
I don't want to go buy a light disc. You know,
I don't need that.

Speaker 4 (59:56):
Look cool at night. I'll give them that looks really cool. Yeah,
look cool night. I but like I wrote it right right.

Speaker 2 (01:00:02):
At like I want to say, it was like dusk
and it's really really cool.

Speaker 1 (01:00:07):
Yeah. Well, overall this might be a wait till it
is like andy drug, I said, a matinee in a
discount ticket price, or just wait till it's on training.
But hey, it's out nine inch DALs. You killed it.
Everyone else you need that all right?

Speaker 2 (01:00:21):
Like from what you said, it sounds like a FX movie,
like oh, shoot, saw Sean, let me watch this real
quick when you already cleaning up on a Saturday.

Speaker 1 (01:00:29):
F X has the movies in case he did.

Speaker 2 (01:00:31):
Now, yes, today they showed say I got in, I
got in and I think it was the poultry gecet
with with uh remember portray ice.

Speaker 4 (01:00:43):
Then it was.

Speaker 1 (01:00:47):
Shoot, uh Kevin did today is what we're learning right now?

Speaker 2 (01:00:51):
Are? And then after con Air it was I don't
want to close my arm again?

Speaker 1 (01:00:55):
All right?

Speaker 4 (01:00:56):
What what a what a? What a movie routine?

Speaker 1 (01:00:59):
Right there? That was what's work day? In a nutshell.

Speaker 4 (01:01:02):
I don't keep an effects on my office because I
don't watch them. I just like, what's the one? But
that doesn't for us here on today's podcast.

Speaker 1 (01:01:09):
We will be back on Monday talking about the Peacemaker
season two finale. Spoilers abound will happen so much that
I'm watching the episode live tonight because i know there's
gonna be spoilers. Tomorrow morning.

Speaker 4 (01:01:22):

Speaker 1 (01:01:23):
Yes, Mara gave me permission and I said thank you.
She said, I will watch my Vampire Diaries. I'm the laptop.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
