it tight.

Speaker 2 (00:43):

partly I was like, that was funny. That was a
good time.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
That was a good time. But we got a jam
packed show for you today to get you in the
sort of spooky season frame of mind. We're gonna talk
about the halle movies you need to watch based on
your zodiac sign. So if you're a Pisces and Aries,
this is the movie you need to watch this Halloween season,
and most of them will probably be the ones you
probably watch at the end of Halloween season.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
All what will be called zodiac about Zodiac killer.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
That is that is true, but that's not what we're
talking about buying on the list unless it is who knows.
We're gonna talk about gen V. We're gonna have about
John Cena's last match is actually happening near us. And
we're gonna talk about the Simpsons movie too. What do
we want in it? And what do we expect from
Disney now that Disney is doing it? This is the

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Hell yeah, what time? What year that come out?

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Oh? Seven? So this is before all the.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Right before man, right before we didn't know what we had. Kevin,
can you move your camera a little bit to you.
You're in the center it mind. I don't know if
that's right or left, because opposites are opposite. That's way better.
Butt love it, love it, love it. Love it.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
Likes to play down here when I'm not down.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
Here with the camera. It's cat cam all the time.
When you don't realize that when these cameras are offically.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
I have to air clean my keyboard.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Yeah, right there, she's on on cue. But we always
start the podcast properly with something I like to call
what you're doing, where we're talking about the shows and movies.
We've been watching, the games, we've been playing the lives
we've been living because your boy it's Thursday. Your boy
gets to go first backwards order there. That's okay, uh

(03:25):
and Kevin, the task is uh oh no, we'll save this,
never ignore that. I'll save that for the first new story.
I am halfway through Tron Legacy right now, and.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
How you doing it?

Speaker 1 (03:39):
It's it's difficult. I was fighting asleep. I will tell
you that right now, half way through Tron Legacy.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
It is a great movie that's put on and just
like kept some z's to Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Yeah, you know, Tron Legacy is wild because it came
out what seven ten, twenty ten, which is you know,
Hoodie was in tenth grade, Your boy was in tenth grade.
But yeah, it's rough, and I think it goes with
the thing I said on Monday when I was talking
about the first Tron. Great concept, just not entertaining in

(04:17):
twenty ten and a time where we had Iron Man two.
I think by then in twenty ten, right, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
I can tell you because when I came out, my
nephew was like maybe nine or ten years old. He said,
it sucks. And usually it's kind of hard to find
a kid that hates the movie because you go to
a movie is dark, it's got candy, popcorn, chicken tenders.
It's a really cool place to be for a ten
year old. Even he hated it.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
So that tells you, I will say, though, I just
googled twenty ten movies and the ones that pop up.
Twenty ten looked like a rough year for movies outside
of Iron Man two, because you did have Predators, which
I think is Loki slept on as a Predator movie.
They Adrian Brody won to.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Be really good. I don't god, I red box that
movie red box.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, it was good. It's Fortnite before Fortnite.
There was thing. You had the Nightmare on Elm Street,
the like reboot sort of that was with the guy
who played Rarshack and Watchman. You had The Last Airbender
and you had kick Ass also, So it was kind
of a a rougher year for movies, at least for
big blockbuster movies.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
I remember being in the theater leaving Last Airbender, everybody like,
just what the.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
Heck was that? Comedies were still what we wanted. Comedies
were doing good at the box office. Superhero movies they're
figuring their ishouts. Outside of Iron Man too, I.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Thought it was I was a year earlier. I thought
Rosas planning games twenty eleven next.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
Oh see, you had to wait a year on that one.
But yeah, So if you were trying to watch tron
like I see before toront Aris comes out next week,
just prepare yourself if anything following a pattern, I'm gonna
think the same thing's gonna happen for tron Aries when
I go see that next week. Is Oh, it's a
cool concept and dared let it tank.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
It looks like at least tron Ers has action, because
there's no action in Tronto.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
It's a lot of outside of outside of the little
games they had in the first like in like the
second twenty minutes, because the first thirty minutes is all
human stuff. I'm like, okay, they learned a lesson from
the first one, so we need more human stuff to
set up the plot of this.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
But a lot of talking in a weird Jeff Bridges
head a lot of the movie.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Oh yeah, that this was daging before they did it
properly in Marvel, like in twenty sixteen.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
You know, dun County Valley should have picture of that
movie as a definition valley.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
I think the other thing is is two. Like at
the time Jeff Bridges, at least for me, he was
bald like Iron Man and you're like, oh this man, Yeah,
is that hair fake too? And like, no, his hair
is real when he's old, but when he's young, it's like,
that's not the right color.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
Olivia Wawasman forgot Olivia.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
It was it was a time also, uh I am
I got two episodes left of the latest season of
Rick and Morty. It's been fun. I just watched the
James Gun episode, which was fun. I will say most
of the Rick and Morty this season, Kevin, you kind
of talked about when you watched it. I'm like, okay,
it's good, but nothing is like, h like a cultural zeitgeist,

(07:20):
like you know, Pickle Rick.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
I think it was their peak, honestly, and that's kind
of more just like it's reverted back into the cold status, hm,
where before it was a little like a mainstream and
that was back back in the cold status. Because a
lot of episodes are really funny to me, Like my
favorite one is still the one about the the Voltron ferrets,
because yes, trying to get these megazores all the time,
I'm literally that guy.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
But yeah, I think the interesting thing I found I
heard through a podcast is that how they make Rick
and Morty episodes as they count with the cold open
first and then they that's how they flesh out if
it's gonna be a full episode or a random cold open,
so like you can kind of tell some of them,
Like I watched the Jerry one where it was like
through inner dimension old Jerry's or whatever, and like that
was a cold open that was a whole whole episode

(08:06):
versus other things, which is interesting.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
Yeah, that one I actually have my favorite of the seasons.
I think actually that that one. The rest of them
were cool too, but that that one because Jerry's Jerry's
just so good for.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
Some Jerry ventures. And then actually, one more other thing
I found out with tront Legacy, Maure told me she
went on her first date ever to go see Tron Legacy,
and like, oh, what a bad movie to go date
to go see. But I'm glad they took you to
see it and it was a bad movie because eventually
led you to me.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
So I'm trying, I'm trying to think maybe if you
guys were in the same like area, but you were
in she was nowhere close. Yeah, there's nowhere. I'm like,
maybe it's like a thing where like you guys were
in the same movie there. I didn't know it, you know,
kind of like brushed shoulders. It's kind of like a
five years later thing. I might I think I found Monday.
I will make this like a weird like halfway topic. Uh,

(08:55):
we'll do what was your first movie date?

Speaker 1 (08:58):
Because mine's interesting story? All right, so we will for Monday.
We're saying that that's gonna be if we got nothing
to talk about. Side's talking about. Uh, and then I've
fully started gohs to Sushima about an hour in so
so far it's it's been interesting trying to figure out
the controls. She's like, wait, right, trigger does things now?
All right?

Speaker 2 (09:17):
Cool, I'll tell you right now. Uses every button on
that controller, so you're gonna know them all at the
end of the game.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
So everything. Yeah, so I'm excited. We'll give it the
good old college tryal and see if we we finishing out.
But Kevin, that's what I've been doing. What you been doing,
good sir?

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Actually funny it's gonna go. So Stina goes to Yote
comes out tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
Hell yeah, nothing like me. Playing the first game the
day before the second one comes out.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
And that's kind of excited because the other uh this morning,
I don't know, let me check my postation. I don't
think I used my whole uh my whole Father's Day
card a game. So I have like forty five bucks
towards go said Yote right now. I'm like, this game
half off, baby, that's awesome. I probably won't play it
until i'm done read di because I'm slugging through that
one because I know what happened to the end. It's

(10:03):
not running towards it. So. Other than that, I've been
working out, really, really focusing on working out a lot lately,
and I'm starting to see kind of like the fruits
of working out. I put on a shirt yesterday that
when I put it on last month was at a
little tighter than it was yesterday. I'm like, oh, okay, all.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
Right, we're getting there, baby, I keep doing this.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
I'm also finding that I don't know this is with
YouTube hoodie. I know, because you get you work up,
wake up way too early to work out before you
go to work. But I feel like when I work
out in the morning, I feel better about going to work.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
It's weird.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
It's I'm not like dragging out of the house.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
I can't really tell you because I'm not waking up
at three go workout.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
Sorry, but people exist and they're crazy, Like there's people
in the gym at three am. I'm like, no, why
didn't you sleep?

Speaker 1 (10:48):
The twenty four hour gyms exist for that reason, and.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
I've done that before and when I've gone and I'm like,
I feel like weird, Like I remember, I never forget
I was. I was doing the what was that the
chest machine where you got like squeeze your chest together
like that, yes, fly or whatever, But there was a
guy on the side of the gym that was like
on the stationary bike just staring at me. I'm like,
this is weird.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
At least we're doing the the leg version of that.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
This is just the other than working out and hope
trying to change my body. Still in the UH, I
want to say that we're kind of in it of
planning the cruise next year and got some good news
that the Disney Destiny has left is Duck and it's
on its way to America as we school for you.

(11:39):
So I think they're christening it in November. So I'm
tited to see that because when he did the last
time for Treasure, they had like a drone show and
we watched it because we're huge nerds. It was like
a ten minute program. But other than that, just still
slogging away and rent that redemption and that's about it.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
I think, all right, well, let's get on into it,
because it is time for they first things. First, we're
gonna get you ready for the spooky season, because this
is the first day prop of proper true spooky season,
October first, no matter how you cut it is, we

(12:19):
are going through an article of which Halloween movie you
should watch based on your zodiac sign. Yes, we don't
play with zodiacs too often on this podcast, but we said, hey,
maybe our zodiac signs will give us different movies we
haven't seen in a while.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
Always say why I am not a zodiac like follower.
I will say that though Eastern zodiac is cool, in
the Western zodiac because I'm an aries, but Johnie zodiac
I was worn to hear the tiger.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
Yes take that. So, Kevin, you are in aries because
your birthday is in April. In case you didn't know that,
Kevin's birthday is in April. All the gifts you give him,
all the gifts it's coming to He's the next one off.
I guess so, Aries, according to this list, is bold,
willing to jump in in just about anything and take
a risk. Uh so they say hocus Pocus, and it's

(13:09):
true because Kevin's always won meeting celebrities fullheartedly and out
of no reason, like how did Kevin do it? Well,
Kevin just did it.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
I mean it just happens, like I'll just stand around,
look Pagejackson, how you doing, buddy?

Speaker 1 (13:21):
There you go. But they say, for an Aries, hocus
Pocus is the movie you should watch. It'll have all
of your enthusiastic and competitive synapsis is firing, which is true.
Kevin doesn't need to be entertained, or Kevin will do
something on his own.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
Yeah, I will zone out very quickly, just the way
the brain works.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
According to this tauruses, which would be mister Eric V
and Mora the closest ones on this podcast, saying you're
practical and creative, but a bit impulsive and possessive, which
is truly embodiment of the nightmare before Christmas when someone
decides to take over for another holiday because they're convinced
they can do it better.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
Well, there's more Enjoydan for Christmas.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
I don't. I think both of us are kind of like, yeah,
we respect it, and we respect some scenes out of it,
but I think the whole movie now, I think that
front half. Yes, the whole movie. Though, you're like, am okay.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
The same way. Once once what is this song's over?
I'm like, okay, I get it.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Once we go into the Christmas town yeah, okay, the
other towns eventually, that is true, Kevin. Do you know
any geminis Gemini is what month that? That would probably
be Jewish?

Speaker 2 (14:38):
I do know what.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
My niece and my nephew all right, well they should
watch Practical Magic, the one that's getting a sequel. And
it's the main reason why Nicole Kidman is breaking up
Keith Urban this week.

Speaker 2 (14:51):
I'm not gonna lie. I've all I'm not a big
fan of like a couple of news, but this made
me save.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
I'm like, ah, the AMC theater won't be the same.
She's not watching romance movies anymore, is good? It does
not feel good and place like this. If you're cancer,
you should watch Casper. If you like the July birthday.
You're Leo born in August. You should watch the Haunted Mansion.

(15:16):
But the two thousand and three one, Kevin, Now we've
had we have two of them, and we have three
because there's the Muppet Hant Mansion as well. What is
your Haunted Mansion movie of choice right now?

Speaker 2 (15:26):
The new one is really good.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
That is pretty good.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
It's a pretty good We actually watched it a week
ago and I'm like, it's a fun movie. This is
really good. Not one of the oscars is not going
to change the world, but man.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
You know you're gonna have a good time. You're watch
it maybe every year instead of hocus Pocus to We
might try to rewatch that again this year and it
won't be the same, not gonna hit. Uh. Virgo, you
should pragmatic and reliable. That's what your boy is. Virgo
is all about learning and using their analytical minds to
figure out every single detail of something. Uh. They say

(16:00):
you should watch Signs this holiday season, which to me
doesn't feel like a Halloween movie, but it is scary.
You are a Virgo, right, I am a Virgo and
so is your wife. Yes, this was a.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
Scary movie though that I never forget that that's this
is the one of the scene with a random alien
walking by like Bigfoot.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
That was the scariest thing in that damn movie. Like
that's real footage. No, it's a movie. That's a TikTok.
That is funny that whatever. What is the parent company
of Science Signs production company with the paramount m I got, oh,
you need to make a sign But they should totally

(16:42):
release that as just as a TikTok and just see
how it goes viral or not. Yeah, people, people will
believe it.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
I mean, there's so there are so many tiktoks about,
like you know, like cryptozoology and like you know.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
And it's like, oh, if you know, you know, but
if not, you're gonna think it's real.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
Every once in a while, I go down a rabbit
hole into the Appalaschian TikTok and it's creepy.

Speaker 1 (17:06):
Go to us for me creepy. If you're a Libra,
you should watch Rosemary Bait Rosemary's Baby. Uh Scorpio. Uh
Leah is a Sagittarius. Correct.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
I think it's December eighteenth.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
Alright, cool Scorpios. You should watch Beetlejuice and Kevin's daughter,
eldest daughter, Leah, Sagittarius might come as surprising choice, but
a Sagittarius is extremely adventurous and optimistic. But they can
also be a bit blunt because they love their freedom.
So they should watch It's the Great Pumpkin. Charlie Brown,

(17:39):
she's actually watched this and not a fan. If you're
a Capricorn, you should watch The Craft, which is, you know,
like a witchy movie. Uh. And then Kira is an
Aquarius found with February second something like that. I don't know.
She should watch even though she's too young for this movie.

(18:01):
At the first Halloween movie.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
I mean sometimes the way she actually's like, she's kind
of like Mr Michael Myers and she just doesn't stop.
She's just coming.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
What I've seen your wife posts about you, and her
white posts about her sometimes. Uh. And it's all good.
It's fun. It's funny. They have pisces. You should watch
The Sixth Sense, which I've never seen. But that's the
biggest spoiler.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
Oh, we should do that, then, sweet to do a
six in review.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
I don't want to see Dead People, Kevin. I don't
want to see Dead People.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
It's a pretty good movie. Though I don't watch it
probably like fifteen.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
It's like that in AI Artificial Intelligence. I'm like, Haley
Joel Osmond. I'm good.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
Yeah, it's not a greatment. AI was on one of
those random Samsung smart TV channels like three weeks ago
and to watch them like, oh, I missing, But.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
Those are the movies. She maybe try out, Kevin, what
is normally the first Halloween movie your family starts off
with for spooky season?

Speaker 2 (18:58):
Normally, normally it is none other than the classic Adam
Sandler rum Here you Go. This year though it was,
it was because it was like it was like a
two weeks ago, get a week and a half ago.
We had like a little cool rainy night and put
on we put on Honey Mansion and everybody had fun.

(19:18):
There you go, turn lights off, put the TV after
behind lights on. It's good time, good time for all.
What about you guys?

Speaker 1 (19:25):
For us, we normally saved the good ones till that
week of Halloween, So like Halloween Town hocus Pocus. Uh,
usually we save and usually we explore a couple tonight. Uh,
because we made an effort to finish our show last night,
so we started something new. We might watch the first
screen movie because Morris never seen it. She either has

(19:45):
the option of watching that or just the first scary
movie because you've seen that. Knows that you know seen this.

Speaker 2 (19:50):
In some horror circles because horror is about as big
as a genre as in comic books or anything like that.
Do slashers count as horror movies or the other their
own genre?

Speaker 1 (20:01):
I mean, you would count Halloween as a Halloween movie,
and that's a slasher movie even though it takes place
during Halloween.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
Yes, correct, it makes sense because that's the way I
thought of it, because they kind of just find like
horror as has been like supernatural or like you know, ghosty,
but not just like a guy in the mass killing somebody,
which is good, just be a crime film because it's
just the way you make it.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
Maybe, but Scooby Doo first movie, who that might be
calling me to? It's this, it's the Spooky light Ones,
you know, James Gunn he wrote that movie. Don't miss
the other thing too.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
Because like, technically could seven be a horror movie because
it's about a serial killer, but it's not.

Speaker 1 (20:35):
That is true. Well, see, here's the thing. Back in
the day when AMC exclusively had all the good like
spooky Halloween movies that would be the only place you
could watch it, because like we gotta pad this whole
last month before Walking Dead, it was the thing and
breaking bad with just halloween ish movies.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
And now there's a there's a whole actual streamer apps.
It's called fright something. Shudder shudder, yeah, shudder all horror
horror movies. Yeah, yeah, my wife actually pays for it.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
I'm just like also a lot of horror movies this
year just coming out in November, like the Franklenztein movie
in December, like the Five Nights of Freddy's movie.

Speaker 2 (21:09):
Like literally, horror is the only think movie like category
that never has like an EBB flow. It just stays
steady because horrors always.

Speaker 1 (21:16):
Cost September October. Don't pull a hocus pocus, be smart,
come on, but something we need to be smart about
is well talking about superhero college. It's time to talk
about some gen vy. So let's break it down. So

(21:39):
we are now over halfway through gen V season two,
because this week was the fifth episode and there's eight episodes,
and uh, I'm not gonna lie. Didn't think this is
how the episode was gonna go. I thought they were
gonna pull it off, and they did not technically.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
So I haven't seen this yet, but I want to
hear your I want to hear your view a bit,
even with the spoilers, because I, like I said, I've
heard the same thing, like we didn't think I was
just gonna go yes, So I haven't watching it. I'm
really excited to see all right.

Speaker 1 (22:08):
So we find out immediately in this episode. This is
spoilers in case you've watched gen V, which we put
in the middle just because we kind of quickly go
through it. That Cipher the Dean Hamish link. Later he's
hooking up with none other than Sister Sage, the smart
lady from last season.

Speaker 2 (22:24):
Awesome, yeah, really goodness here. I like her a lot.

Speaker 1 (22:27):
Yeah, which is wild because they hook up in front
of the old body. That Cipher is kind of the caretaker.
We find out in the little cold open You're like, okay, Sure.
Turns out Cipher has been doing everything pretty much just
to get Marie to the next level as far as
we can kind of indirectly know, trying to prove her powers.

(22:48):
We think it has something to do with Homelander potentially
to control them. We think but eventually we find out
the after them. After the fight from last week, Kate's
taken back to Elmira prison that all the kids were
held in in between seasons, and the rest of the
group decides, you know what, We're gonna go rescuer. We
do have a side story for Sam, the guy who

(23:09):
sees puppets, and that's great because he's kind of just
been m i A for a little bit. Yes, yeah,
And it turns out, no, it wasn't the the the
V that caused him to go a little crazy. It
was just his genetics because his mom it rained in
the family. But there was a little good, sweet, tender
art moments of him Bonnie with his dad and then

(23:31):
you know, it shits the fan in the Boys universe
and he accidentally hits his dad. You're like, oh no,
And then I went, oh no.

Speaker 2 (23:41):
That is the rough thing about having kids with powers,
Like I mean, Marie's story is just tragic, man, just tragic. Yes,
I haven't seen Jeni T's one.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
Look.

Speaker 2 (23:52):
The first scene of the series, we.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
Do get a couple of scenes of polarity. We're finding
out that Ceipher does reveal you know, he was testing
Andre and that's what made Andre die. Eventually, Polarity does
get another I guess Caesar or my mental thing or
whatever he had from last season, So wait to see
where that goes. Because we find out the kids they're
about to rescue, We find out how Marie got out.

(24:17):
They try to do the same method. Yeah it's been blocked.
They get captured and are all thrown into Elmira, where
the episode I thought was like, Oh, I thought they're
gonna get her out easily. No, all caught in there.
Turns out powers are nullified, but we find out Kate
eventually uses like a staple to break free. She helps

(24:39):
Cricket break out as well, and the gang's all broken out. Essentially,
we find out why are there no guards? Like, oh,
it's a test, isn't it. Yeah, yep, it is. Because
we find out that Cipher and Vott have taken Marie's
actual sister hostage and they killed her and you're like,
oh my god. Uh, And we find out the end

(25:02):
of this Episodemarine actually brings her back to life, so
push to the next level so technically kind of part
of the plan, and that's where the episode ends. We
don't know what's gonna happen next, but I will say
Hamish Link later. The guy who plays Cipher the Dean
killing it, killed it in Midnight Mass he kills it
any show really like I hate.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
Him so much. He's so good and like he's a
good deal where he's like I am like.

Speaker 1 (25:29):
Yeah, he is a great authority figure that you're like,
there's like there's some secrets we don't know. We've got
three episodes left time. I want to know all of
them about this man. Again.

Speaker 2 (25:41):
I still think that the reason to his man is
that he's trying to stop Homelander, because I mean, because
who wasn't it was Sbo's characters told him like, you
are just bad products. We don't want you to be
in charge, and unfortunately he became in charge. And I'm
pretty sure to see I don't like that because even
though they are all powerful beings, the polots that BESTA

(26:04):
want to be in charge and then you'll figure it out.
That's what it seems like to me anyway.

Speaker 1 (26:07):
Yeah, but overall, good episode, Like there's only three left,
which is wild, so it'll be done bye by Halloween,
which is great. And you got Peacemaker pretty much being
done by the middle of this month too, so a
lot of our summer shows are done and we got
to gear up for our new fall shows.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
Baby, if it ends like on Halloween, I means it
might be a bloody episode on purpose.

Speaker 1 (26:29):
Well, I think I think we kind of talked about
last week that really Neat whatever happens is going to
be an immediate setup for The Boys, Like we said,
potentially a trailer at the end of the season for
The Boys is his final season, so that's something you
hype up a lot. I don't know. If Jenrie gets
a third season, that'll be interesting to see what happens
with that. If, like the Boys universe is continuing, but

(26:51):
in what form we'll find out, you know.

Speaker 2 (26:53):
Because those are boys getting, Yes, they're getting.

Speaker 1 (26:56):
Like a prequel show the pet, Like does the Boys
hype end when homelanders taking off the board? We'll find out.

Speaker 2 (27:05):
We will find out. Because he because Anthony Star Star.
I'm so surprised he hasn't really kind of blown up
larger because of his I.

Speaker 1 (27:15):
Think because I think, well, he was in that weird
I think it was like a prime video movie. It
was him and Viola Davis. I think Viola Dave was
like the vice president or president and he was like
holding the un hostage or something that didn't blow up
at a well, but yeah, I think maybe after Homelander,
I think he's probably that's the stage not shape because

(27:36):
he has we know he has patting in suit that
was like an infamous thing, but just probably tired of
having to bleach his hair blonde, you know, to be
only Yeah, well picking up Cody Rhoads. Good segue, Kevin Well, Yes, sure,
I thought through the smoking mirrors, I thought that's what

(27:56):
you were referencing. Wow, the same he has the woe
and every song has he goes, everywhere he goes. Because
turns out we're gonna be following WWE for the next
at least two weeks for sure, because John Cena's final
match has officially been set in Washington, d C. Capitol

(28:20):
on Arena on December thirteenth, which is great. We now
know his final five dates will be Crown Jewel, which
takes place next weekend October eleventh, November tenth, the Ron Boston.
They're on New York the week after Survivor Series of
twenty ninth, and this big old retirement match in DC
on a Saturday.

Speaker 2 (28:40):
I forgot when when is jingle Ball?

Speaker 1 (28:42):
Is it before or after the jingle Ball? December sixteenth?

Speaker 2 (28:45):
Oh, so you'll you'll be at You'll be at Capitol
On Arena.

Speaker 1 (28:48):
I'll be in in about Capitol On Arena, Gavin, I'll
be living there. I'm like, hey, can I just get like,
I know you got beds, gonna stay in the bed.

Speaker 2 (28:57):
Let me get a cut in the bathroom.

Speaker 1 (28:59):
I know you're here, don't worry about it. I just
need really the Sunday and Monday, that's really it. I'll decorate.

Speaker 2 (29:08):
That's instead of the broadcast are so I'll be here.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
So the main thing while we're talking about is we
did talk about this a couple of weeks ago. It's confirmed.
Interesting enough, tickets do go on sale on October seventeenth.
And I've been texting our wrestling side group all the
info and Kevin, I don't know if you're down or not.
I feeling you're not because it's too close to the
all days.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
Well, I'll feel how much ticket prices cost. But October
is a three paid month.

Speaker 1 (29:36):
It's true, so October Kevin has money. Decep for Kevin
does not have money.

Speaker 2 (29:43):
No no, no, no no no. So and I've been kind
of scripping and saving lately, just because I'm just trying
to eliminate wasted something I don't need. I think food
from the supermarket or you know, gas trying to buy
it recently. So I was like, maybe I should just
go in a have your little daddy treat, treat, trick
or treat for Kevin. Maybe what you guys say that

(30:04):
might be it might be fee levels. I love you,
but well, Kevin.

Speaker 1 (30:06):
I'll just buy your ticket. You can pay, that's fine.
I don't care, and you're a good friend. I'd rather
sit together. And they're like, we're all there, but we
could hang out. Uh, it's called a credit card, Kevin.
The pre sale, if you are interested, is October fifteenth,
So you boys gonna try us all on that pre sale.
I got the code already, and that's two weeks from now.

(30:27):
I've still got the code already. Interesting enough, we kind
of talked about this, uh with Wrestlemanian. This is kind
of pretty much kind of not on the level but
very close to the level of a WrestleMania it's a
last match. Ever, it'll be really dedicating him. Uh. The
Undertaker is going to be hosting his Undertaker dead Man
One Man Show uh at the Howard Theater. So, Kevin,

(30:48):
if you're interested, you could see the Undertaker in person too.
That's right, that's money, So Kevin, you just stay at
my house weekend in December. But it looks like on
location kind of partners of w W and a bunch
of sports to give, like a bunch of packages of
it's kind of very VIP packages. Uh the base uh

(31:09):
started package at eight hundred dollars, which gave you access
to four hundred level seats Capitol Arena. But you can
meet John Cena.

Speaker 2 (31:22):
Kind of cool though, But I don't know if I
want to meet John Cena though.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
Because you know we're in the mystique.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
Is that And I wouldn't meet the John sena hustlelay
to respect. I would meet the Johnson that that guy
who's kind of like I feel like if he was
in like uh Greek Greek Times, he will be like
one of those what's the word uh that my god
demi god no no, no, like the people that that
always talk philosophy. He's a very philosophical person. And I

(31:49):
don't want to meet that guy. I want to meet
the guy I want to.

Speaker 1 (31:52):
Meet the Tang gang leader, you know exactly.

Speaker 2 (31:54):
I don't want to make it, so maybe not, maybe not.
Maybe when we do eventually, when he does a movie,
John get here in DC, we'll go to.

Speaker 1 (32:01):
That will I'll meet that there. So if you've seen
these online, actually did see a wrestling, a big wrestling
like podcasts or whatever tweeted out there the tickets starting
for the thing, and like those are the front row
VIP tickets. Those are not the actual starting tickets. I
will say, though, if you want to go, probably if

(32:23):
you can, uh, because I have a feeling four hundred
level at cap one, which is actual nosebleeds because you
get some vertigo sometimes in they're in that four hundred section. Uh.
Probably at least one hundred and twenty five dollars.

Speaker 2 (32:39):
I will say, though, And I've gotten lucky with this
two or three times. And this is for honestly most
sporting events. I want to say, really love conscant, but
most sporting events. Sometimes walking up to the box office
on the day of you might find some cheap tickets tickets,
but reasonable tickets that that would be a lot more
on ticketmaster if online day off. Because I never forget

(33:03):
me and my buddy got into the WrestleMania NXT show
and we were literally literally as outside for like seventy
five It because they're trying to get rid of him,
trying to feel fill the place.

Speaker 1 (33:14):
Yes, but I will say lucky, this is DC be
prepared interesting enough. They are going to have a superstore,
Kevin Gallery place, So I think we're gonna make it
a whole day on Saturday, just park hoodies will take
the metro in.

Speaker 2 (33:29):
You know what, what day is the match one? Again?

Speaker 1 (33:32):
It's a Saturday of thirteenth.

Speaker 2 (33:33):
Yep, Lee's birthdays next, so that might be I have
to see because I have a I have a surprise
for Lea. I don't want to say it on this
podcast because she might be one listening.

Speaker 1 (33:44):
It's she's going to the match with us.

Speaker 2 (33:48):
It involves a play about a pink lady and a
green girl coming to Baltimore that weekend, So I gotta
look at that first.

Speaker 1 (33:55):
Maybe can tell me that before before the tickets going
by the ticket.

Speaker 2 (34:01):
I might buy those Passion might fight battles this weekend,
but I got to make sure that it's not on
the same day before we get.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
You can do it Mattinee This at night okay, by alright, bye,
I burnt that, I go, I love you, love you much. Yeah,
it's fun and it's it's an exciting time and if anything,
it's cool because it's a DC moment for wrestling. There's
not a lot, so we got a cherish what we
can get.

Speaker 2 (34:26):
Yeah, I mean the last big one I think was
when the Rock beat Triple H for the title and
that was when Stone Coll came back unexpectedly and.

Speaker 1 (34:34):
You know, a w Premier Dynamite in DC at cap
One Arena. So it's that was like five years ago,
so like we get one every ten ish year years
or so.

Speaker 2 (34:45):
Also, me and you did smack Down fifteen hundred.

Speaker 1 (34:47):
I think it was one thousand. I think that. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:50):
Well, yeah, that was fun. Of the Evolution reunited for
one night only. That was cool. That was cool. Yeah,
Like I said, not a lot comes around this mid Atlantic.

Speaker 1 (34:59):
Area unfortunately, so take what we can get.

Speaker 2 (35:02):
One day, we'll get a Summer Slam or a WrestleMania
thanks to the new stadium in DC though.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
Thank you, thank god, OURFK is getting rebuilt twenty thirty.
Ah right, I can't wait. Wrusman in twenty thirty one.
Maybe not, depending on how the thought. But speaking of
fun things, we appreciate that staying the test of time.
Let's talk about the Simpsons, something we don't really talk
about too much on this podcast, but we're both very

(35:29):
big fans because we're getting a sequel twenty years in
the making, the very almost twenty y Yeah, twenty years
in the making to the first Simpsons movie.

Speaker 2 (35:41):
This is cool. I remember seeing this movie in the
theaters the day it open on a Friday, Yeah, ticket day.
I was like, I'm saying, Simpsons, this will be great,
and I wasn't.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
Wrong at the time. It was a great movie.

Speaker 2 (35:55):
Did you see it?

Speaker 1 (35:56):
Yeah, I'm pretty sure we saw that opening weekend. My
fan family history. Uh. For the longest time, we have cable,
so we only had the w B channel and infamously
and it was it was like my TVZ at the time,
probably from like fourth to like seventh grade, even before then,
was my dad would get home from work at like
five five o'clock, you'd get two episodes of The Simpsons

(36:18):
six o'clock we eat dinner, uh, and usually they be
kind of order of the season. So that's how we
would watch the Simpsons originally back on TV. Obviously I
haven't watched a lot of the newer seasons, but it
all culminated in that movie that was like Simpson's mainly
a hype right there, dude.

Speaker 2 (36:33):
It wasn't anything greater than watching like the sdicated TV
back in the day after school, because we had the
same thing here in Baltimore. It was five five thirty
Simpsons six six thirty I think it was. It was
a fresh Prince of Ballet.

Speaker 1 (36:44):
At one point we had Judge Judy, Judge Joe Brown.

Speaker 2 (36:49):
And then we do Antanna. We could get Fox five
and DC. There was after the Fox Sat. Ten, so
it was like Simpsons everywhere. It was awesome.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
Uh, but we now know the move The sequel officially
coming out July twenty third, twenty twenty seven, interesting because
we just realized this when we're teasing it, this will
be Disney doing the movie essentially, because you remember twentieth
Century used to be twentieth century Fox, which did the
first movie that got bought up by Disney in twenty nineteen.
It's the whole thing why the Simpsons are at Universal Studios.

(37:22):
I have a feeling though that might end with it
this movie's coming on in twenty twenty seven, so Bay attention,
And what's happening with Simpsons land in Universal Studios?

Speaker 2 (37:33):
Yeah, I think that contract is up really soon. It's
not a a well people like it, but it's not loved,
you know what I mean. It's kind of just there
Nix to Men in Black and nobody. It's like all
the cool Simpsons and then kind of go back by
to day. The food's not great. The ride is pretty
much just a rehash of the Back of the Future ride,
but it's different. So you're right, it may not be
there for too much longer.

Speaker 1 (37:54):
Their licensing contract ends in twenty twenty eight, one year
after the movie comes out. So I have a feeling
this is gonna be like, hey, we just had a
movie come out and on Disney Plus Now by the
end of twenty twenty seven, and we want to build dele.

Speaker 2 (38:06):
In now yeah, or like you can keep it, but
so much is gonna cost and like, nah, we're good.

Speaker 1 (38:11):
Yeah, if you want to promote with the new movie, yeah,
you go and pay us the licensing fees. That's what
you want. Yes, So, according to social media, pretty much
all I posted was Homer grabbing a doing it with
two sprinkles on it. Homer's coming Back for Seconds on
their social media, revealing an all new movie based on
the long running animated comedy set to premiere in twenty

(38:32):
twenty seven. No real details or final title, whether we
call the Simpsons Movie too, the Simpsons Movie the sequel,
but it will continue the Springfield family's story and series
creator Matt Groening is doing illustrations and everything for the movie,
which is great.

Speaker 2 (38:52):
I think, what did you do for this movie? Because
the last one was kind of about just more about
how the family is, how they've grown grown with the
with the town of Springfield. In this one, it should
go totally meta. This should really be about the Simms
going on Disney World.

Speaker 1 (39:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (39:09):
I mean.

Speaker 1 (39:09):
The interesting thing is, interestingly enough, our friends at Variety
said the Simpsons Movie two whatever we called, actually took
up coming out July twenty twenty seven and is taking
an untitled Marvel project spot, which is cool to put
the Simpsons on the level of, like, hey, it'll do
boukou numbers as like a Marvel movie could.

Speaker 2 (39:28):
And I think I was I'm telling you about this
before we started recording. I think The Simpsons has reached
that like almost Ninja Turtle slash Pokemon slash Baby Harry
Potter ever where, like different generations love this show. Like
for me, seasons I think, like seasons five to like
thirteen are just perfect. I love them. I love them

(39:49):
so much. But after that there's a drop off, but
the show still has showpen Erinsons. Then there's people that
really loved maybe seasons fourteen to twenty and then they
thought those drop offs, and people love twenty to twenty
seven they thought the drop off. So this is a
there's literally like kind of like when Sona came out,
parents that watch Simpsons when they were a kid, or
taking their kids who watch Simpsons now with my parents
Simpsons now.

Speaker 1 (40:09):
Yeah. Oddly enough, there's one of the top comments on
the article we're actually using was the Simpsons has been
on so long that I went from being younger to
Bart to being older than Homer while the show is
still on the air technically because kind of a clay
think Homer's like thirty five or something, and.

Speaker 2 (40:25):
I'm actually realizing that now like years ago by like
I'm older than my my, my than my my cartoons.

Speaker 1 (40:32):
My cartoons are younger than me now.

Speaker 2 (40:36):
I think if you watch New Girl now, we're older than.

Speaker 1 (40:40):
Yeah we Binge watched it, I think a year and
a half ago, right, we're their age now, like we
need there's some people in their mid thirties now, please,
Like I.

Speaker 2 (40:50):
Watch King of Queen's the other day and they said
how old were I'm like, what wo?

Speaker 1 (40:54):
No, you guys are like forty five fifty at least something?
Please Interially enough, Simpsons had will have their fortieth season
in twenty twenty eight as well, so this makes sense
why they're doing it. If it gets pushed, it makes
sense to do forty thing University and all that good stuff.
But that is when peak Simpsons is gonna be hitting again.

(41:18):
I think we talked about this beforehand. When the first
movie came out, the Simpsons and Fox or whatever had
taken over seven to elevens. Seven elevens were re themed quickie marts,
everything like everything could buy like Simpsons themed straws. It
was like the chase like which you could get with
Spider pig Mania everywhere. I think, yeah, I think they

(41:41):
need to do that again one hundred percent, especially because
we are in a bigger era of that. I think
something needs to be crusty Burger. I don't know something
Burger King needs to bring back the Simpsons toys like
they used to back in the day.

Speaker 2 (41:55):
Yeah, it'd be interesting because I feel like either again
Wendy's McDonald's berger can leads to convert to a Krusty Berger.
Like like you said, like you go to order a
krusty Burger with the krusty fries and the krusty shake,
all that kind of stuff. Just do it out because
this may not happen again. Like I don't, I don't.
I this is the there's been a there was a

(42:15):
south Park movie, but it didn't makes much money as
Simpsons half a million dollars last time least. I don't think.
I can't think of any other animated TV show that's
been a movie twice that's not a kid show.

Speaker 1 (42:29):
That is true. That is true. Yeah, now Kevin went
plot wise because it is a Simpsons movie, But you know,
it really the first movie you could say. You know,
it was a little bit of a bit of one
episode stretched to a t, but I had a lot
of references. EPO still quoted in my family pretty much.
But rest, what do you think needs to happen in

(42:54):
a second movie, does it need to have some sense
of finalite because I was thinking this, like do we
finish the Simpsons at forty? Do we keep it going?

Speaker 2 (43:04):
You ficture? I still think you should go meta and
she literally be kind of like vacation. It's about the
Simpsons driving to Florida or California to go to Disneyland
and the crazyness that happens in between it and getting
there and seeing how much they leveled or hated or
just kind of start cracking jokes kind of like I said,
meta jokes at being at the park. And also the

(43:29):
fact that you know you have Maggie, Maggie Bart and
Lisa who should be adults with kids. You could also
maybe even do another flash forward because there have been
like three or four flash forward SATs flashback episodes in
The Simpsons, to do kind of like a reset of
how old Homer and Market are for the era. So
I can even see maybe this is an episode where
like it starts off and literally Homer is the old

(43:50):
man is old and they're about to go to see
their grandkids at Barred Lisa's house. Like that'd be kind
of a cool.

Speaker 1 (43:56):
And that's the thing too, is well I think it
was last year. Uh, they did have a Simpsons episode
that was kind of a what if if there was
a finale, but it was it was really a what
if episode I saw on TikTok today of like the
like people who saw the first movie, they're gonna be
surprised of how the voice actors sound now because it's
been twenty years, Like they're old, like they've been doing

(44:18):
it for forty years. It will be interesting just to
see how they do that. I think, yeah, you're right,
they could do that little bit of an older path
above all else. I think you gotta play the hits,
though you need to like not assume everyone's been watched.
I think they really don't either, Like there's no big
modern character that his reference. It still is. You know,

(44:39):
we have Chief Wigum, you got the doctor, Doctor, you
got Doctor Nigga. Everybody got Disco Stew, you got you
got Professor Frank. Like those you need to have with
their peak and not introduce random weird characters. Inspirer Pig worked,
but that was the time before like baby yodas and
things were thing.

Speaker 2 (44:58):
But you gotta have Flanders, you gotta have bart Prink
called Moa least once Homer has to fall into something
to say, Dough like, I will even venture. Maybe oh,
they can figure out why to do this, Maybe bring
back side show Bob and do kind of like a
murder mystery type of thing. We actually kill somebody and
Bart knows about it and they're trying to figure out
how to hide them from that kind of kind of dark.

(45:21):
But we can make that funny, you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (45:23):
I think with this it's something of the Disney and
bro Obviously, we have those Disney Plus specials where they
can kind of get in the Mandalorian and Star Wars
characters and all the good stuff. I think, And I
know we've had little crossovers with the Cold Opens, pull
in Family Guy universe, pull in the Bob's Burgers universe,
pull in Futurama. You know, fully you can. You got
everyone knows it's because of the Simpsons. We have these shows.

Speaker 2 (45:46):
You know, Like, I feel bad I haven't watched the
last two season of Jama and.

Speaker 1 (45:50):
I feel that I've seen I've seen clips on TikTok
and I'm like, all right, this is as good as
a TikTok.

Speaker 2 (45:54):
But the thirty episode, you're TikTok, you're not, You're not
twenty twenty three minutes where it.

Speaker 1 (46:02):
Was the second revival. I was like, all right, I
think Trauma's lost its monster to me at least.

Speaker 2 (46:07):
And the first one wasn't bad. The second one was like,
oh yeah, relaxed.

Speaker 1 (46:09):
They had a movie too. It was like three episodes
they released and then it was like, no, that didn't happen.

Speaker 2 (46:14):
Yeah, yeah, the first one was good, second and third
one when we're okay.

Speaker 1 (46:19):
Yeah, But overall, I think really cool. I think like
for Kevin, that's dope. You can take the kids in
two years, Kiro will be able to watch it to
a degree, you know, Leo will fully comprehend it, and
it'll be a very cool generational thing for your family.

Speaker 2 (46:34):
Kier literally is Maggie. At some points, I won't be
talking to you. She has a gun under her every day.

Speaker 1 (46:39):
I'm suspicious.

Speaker 2 (46:42):
But it's funny too, though, like back in the day
when Simpson's first debuted, when before we were born, or
just very very little, it will seem as controversial, but
if you go back and watch those early episodes for
this era, they're kind of wholesome. So it's fun.

Speaker 1 (46:54):
It's funny. I'm a little progressive for when they came out.
You know, I want Elias.

Speaker 2 (46:59):
Sometimes I'm like, I couldn't watch as a child. I mean,

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
