And a Happy Friday. Friend.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
Welcome to the thoughts Shower intern John is my name?
Appreciate you listening. It's been a week man. I got
back from Mexico on Wednesday. Flew down on Saturday for
a good friend's wedding. My friend Holly, who I've known
Golly since I was seventeen years old and was a

(00:51):
fun time. Wedding was in king Kun, beautiful Mexico. I
got down to day early, got a chance to relax.
Typical dude. The first day I was talking to my
friend and I was like, hey, so you know what's
going on? She goes, well, tonight's the white Party. I go,
what do you mean. She's like, it's the welcome party.

(01:11):
We're all wearing white. And I was like, I don't
know if I knew about that. She goes, it is
on the invitation on the back side, and I realized
at that moment I never flipped to the back of
the invitation, never thought to do it. Never did it,
I think because the friend of the invitation was a
really cool photo of them that looked like almost like.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Like Kardashian.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
Cocktail party, if you will, like very elegant and very extravagant.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
And so I was like, oh, that's a cool photo.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
Put it on the fridge, never flipped it over, and
then I realized, oh, I have no idea what's going
on the entire wedding, not a bit. Luckily she was like,
don't worry. I kind of figured you wouldn't. You're good
to go. But the wedding itself was fun. I only
really knew my friend Holly, and then I know her
brother a bit and her parents as well, but met

(02:02):
her uh now husband, which is great, great dude, met
a bunch of their.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Friends and it was a good time. Man, It's a
really good time.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Weirdest part of the whole time was on like day two,
got knock on my door of hotel staff. I'm like,
oh boy, what is this. Open the door and they're like, hey,
have you seen a mouse? I go no, They okay,
have about another animal with four legs. I go, dude,
what are you guys looking for? This is the exterminator?

(02:31):
I go, dude, I don't want to know. I don't
want to know. When the first question is mouse, then
the next one is animal with four legs, I'm not
about that life, am you know? I think at that
point I saw the mouse, said like, hey, dude, can
you just leave? I'm paying for this room.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
You were not.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
Also got bad sunburned night one, no ideal, but uh
good time overall. And then hockey trials this week. So
our first game for the season George sawn Prepp today.
Very exciting season number eight. I guess year eight of
coaching season number seven because we had the COVID year,
but very excite for that as well. And then now

(03:10):
it's gonna be a real test of how well can
I balance my schedule. So yesterday did the show, went home,
took a little nap, started working on today's show, went
to the gym, went to hockey, went to my bar
because I had to do some like things there for
the Commander's game. And we're not feeling great today, but

(03:33):
we're feeling though. We're feeling alive tonight. Similar thing. Gonna
go after the show, Go get my hair cut, go
to the gym, take a nap hockey game, go to
the bar, and we'll see, you know, we'll see. Somebody
asked me recently actually this weekend, like how do you
do it? I go, well, you know, I'm very lucky

(03:55):
to be in the spot that I'm in. I think
that's a big part of it. That everything I do
I genuinely enjoy doing, which is also cool, And yeah,
that's just kind of how I go. I don't do
well necessarily with downtime. Although I got a massage in
Mexico because I was like part of the package and
that was nice because I kind of let myself go

(04:16):
a little bit, you know, let myself daydreaming go, and
that was very, very relaxing. So anyway, here we are.
It's halfway of Thanksgiving. Appreciate you listening. Let me get
to this too. According to experts, these are the habits
that instantly turn men off from women. Let's go through

(04:37):
their wear is not mine. Starting with being a bit
too needy. They say we all need reassurance. But if
you're texting him constantly, check in, or feel anxious when
he's not around, it can come across as clingy. I
think that's fair. Yeah, I think that's fair. I guess
it's hard to when you first talking to somebody try
and learn their attachment style. But I guess I would

(04:59):
think that too. And again, like for me, I'm just
so busy. I don't think people fully understand that until
like they're around me for a little bit. That like
it's but it's a tough combo too, because like if
you don't feel like you're getting enough affirmation or attention,
I get that too. Playing mind games Oh yeah yeah.

(05:20):
They say teasing can be fun, but uh, mind game
is not so much. If you're flirting with others just
to get a rise out of him, it only causes
a necessary drama. I yeah, I don't got time for that. Yeah,
that's just not like I'll legit walk away and be like, Noah,
you're good.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
How'm I to deal with that?

Speaker 3 (05:37):
I think it's mainly because if I if it was
something like that, if we were out somewhere in the
girl I was with that started talking to somebody else
to get me jealous, I just know that I wouldn't
do that to her. So at that point it's like,
what are you hoping for, especially with when getting dudes jealous,
Like if it's at a bar, are you hoping there's
a fight. Yeah, I mean you hope there's an awkward

(05:59):
con confrontation. No, not the vibe talking bad about others.
I'm gonna disagree on this because nobody has better tea
than your girlfriend. And sometimes to me, like it's just
good to know, you know what I mean, Like after
a girl's night it's like, hey, what's going on, What's
what's going on with your friend group? I'm gonna disagree
with that being self absorbed. Again, this to me, I

(06:24):
don't disagree. However, there's the great comedian Bo Burnham has
a song about thing. It's called Expectations, but he's like
got I mean, I'm gonna paraphrase again into a song
with the ideas like guys want girl is hot, incredibly hot,
but it's not obsessed their looks.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
It's like, all right, It's like most dudes.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
Yeah, self absorbed means I think you can't put yourself first.
You care about your looks, like dudes want that, just
not too much that I think that's one of those
ones where it's like what do you do overreacting to
little things? Yes, I'll say this, and there's been great
studies in this that dude's brains are wired to always

(07:04):
prepare for the next threat. Whatever the next threat would
be battle I mean goes back to the Kveman days.
Certainly you know there's another battle coming or an animal
you got defend from. So dude's minds are always thinking,
like what's the big attack?

Speaker 2 (07:17):
That.

Speaker 3 (07:18):
I do think sometimes we overlook little things. Now I'll
say this too. I've had this problem in past relationships
where it's like it felt like the little things were
always harped on to where it was like if I
was trying to, uh, if there's a habit I was
trying to work on, and like it went from being
you know, seven to ten to a six pout of ten,

(07:40):
not getting like recognition for going down to a six.
May it seem like it's never enough, do you know
what I mean?

Speaker 1 (07:46):
So?

Speaker 3 (07:47):
I do think you kind of pick and choose your battles,
and that kind of goes that. They always say, accept
your partner who they are, because eventually, for a dude,
it's like, we'll just tune out. If it feels like
it's never gonna be enough, it's like, then, why am
I even putting my time in being rude to service workers?

Speaker 2 (08:03):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (08:03):
I think that's for Yeah, no doubt that's that's one
of the worst things you can do. Uh, constantly complaining, Yeah,
I think that's you know, they say a little venting
can be fine, but if every conversation turns into a complaint,
it's draining again, because dudes, our minds are we need
to fix the problem right now. We need to fix

(08:23):
the problem right now because another another battle is coming.
So if it feels like everything is a complaint, I
think for me, then I just again feel like nothing
I do is good enough. If there's always a complaint,
it's like, all right, then again, why am I? Why
am I putting so much effort in knowing it's not
gonna be enough if you bring up the X too often? Eye, Yeah,

(08:47):
I think like the dude's mind, I think in the
back of our mind we see an X as being
kind of competition always like we're always trying to be
better than that. So yeah, I would prefer that every
girl I date hates the REX, I would prefer that.
I think that makes it easier. So yeah, I do
think it's like at that point, if you're bringing up

(09:10):
the X so often, why are you doing it? Is
a jealousy thing? Do you miss them? Do you miss
certain things they're doing that maybe we aren't doing? Yeah,
I think that kind of for sure. Complained to it.
Last one I'll hit is excessive jealousy, they say, hint
of jealousy can be natural. If you're constantly questioning who
he's with or needing updates, it can be exhausting for him. Yeah, yeah,

(09:36):
I get that. Yeah, especially if you're a loyal dude.
There was once I think, as my college girlfriend accused
me of cheating, I remember saying, like, for as much
as you think I'm cheating, I might as well just
do it. And I've never cheated in my life, never,
But I was like, for as much as you accuse
me of doing it, I should just do it and

(09:57):
get over with you know what I mean. It's like
I've earned the fire I'm getting. I didn't do it though,
didn't do it? Listen I Beget Chance. If you're in Nova,
come out to Sue Hide Social. It's the bar I'm
involved with in Clarendon Hyde Social. Love to see there.
