Speaker 1 (00:00):
And a happy Wednesday. Friend.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Welcome to a thought shower. Intern John is my name.
I'm gonna say this off the bat. That'd be no
podcasts on Friday. Taking a bit of a break. By break,
I mean just a day, but nonetheless it is still
a break. It has been a good week so far.
Good week. Got my phone fixed. I had to get

(00:25):
a new phone on Saturday, then drop the new phone
on Sunday while golfing guy crack on the screen, which
was great. Whiting guy fixed yesterday. We are good to go, baby,
Let's go on this week. Well, tonight is a big
night at the bar because it's like the everybody's back

(00:47):
in town night, so apparently it's supposed to be crazy crazy.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
I'm excited for that.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
I think for actual Thanksgiving, I believe I'm going with
Sauce to her family friends, which would be a lot
of fun. Or I'm just gonna stay in and do nothing.
Both are very tempting. I think this is the time
of the year for us where it's kind of grind grind, grind,
grind grind, so having a chance to relax and do

(01:13):
nothing also doesn't seem like a bad idea. You know what,
I mean, and then the plan this weekend is to
honestly be at the bar mainly, Yeah, be at the
bar seeing folks, having a good time, balancing my health,
doing all that good stuff. Baby, it's gonna be a
fun weekend. And then eat a little, I suppose, but

(01:35):
mainly try to get rest. Last weekend was crazy because
not having a phone for twenty four hours was just wild.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
It was a wild thing.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
It was one of those things where it's like, do
I you hope you turn your phone on and you
have like a million miss calls. It wasn't that bad.
I'll be honest, I did all right there. Well, so
we do watch a little bit of Christmas movies Hot
Frostye on Netflix. I would love to interview somebody who
does these like rom com Christmas films because I would

(02:08):
just want to know, in all honesty, if that means like,
do you try to write bad movies?

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Do you know what I mean? Do you try to
write movies that are not good?

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Because Hot Frostie, the idea of it was this woman
talks to somebody or downtown who you know, found love
when she wore this certain scarf. So this lady takes
the scarf and puts it on a snowman, which is like, hey,
that was a gift and now you're giving it away.
What are we doing? Snowman comes to life, she falls

(02:44):
in love with Summam, some man becomes real person. It's
very like Beauty and the Beast esque. But the writing
is bad.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
It just is.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
I get that's the point. The funniest part was when
the main character, Lacey Schaubert, saw Lindsay Lohan on the
screen and he goes, oh, I went to high school
with a girl like that. That was a good part.
That was funny. Rest of them, like, dude, I could
write one of these movies. I'm pretty sure if you
watched it and you loved it, I'm sorry. Actually, let

(03:15):
me see, because it was doing decently well on Ron Tomatoes. Yeah,
eighty four percent, which is crazy, but also not the
conspiracy theory. It's eighty four percent with the critics, fifty
five percent with normal folks. I do think that Ron
Tomatoes does take money, or or if they don't, like

(03:37):
some of the reviewers do, because there's been some Netflix
shows that were absolutely trash that Ron Tomatoes had like
a ninety percent. I'm like, there's just no way, there's
no way. Who are they paying? Let me get to
this for your Wednesday. The personality traits of men you
make excellent boyfriends.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
Now am I probably gonna have all these? Yeah? Duh.
I can't help the cars I was dealt. You know
what I mean.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
I can't help how understanding I am in care a
caring I am starting with they'p melt down doing boring
stuff with you. Say, whether it's grocery shopping, assembling Aikia furniture,
or doing laundry, the guy finds joy in the mundane.
I think that's fair, But that also means it's like

(04:25):
not so much the activity, it's hanging out with your person.
That's the fun part, you know, if they enjoy hanging
out with you. I go in the grocery store can
be fun with the right person. Going to the mall
to return something can be fun with the right person.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
I totally agree.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
If they can ace any social situation, you can take
him to your loudest, most chaotic family barbecue or a
former work event.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
He fits right in.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
He can charm your friends with what he comment that
meaningful conversation with the grandma without missing a beat.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
I think that makes sense.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
Especially because when you bring in somebody around those situations,
you're trying to show them off. You're trying to show
your people like, hey, look when I snagged. You want
them to be on their best behavior to make you
look good. No doubt they know when to zip it.
They say. It's one thing to be a good listener,
but the real MVPs know when they stays silent and
just be there. Sometimes you don't need advice or a

(05:25):
pep talk, You just want event. I've learned this as
I've gotten older, that if you just stay quiet, there's
a good chance your girl will keep talking and you
will find out what's wrong, and that sometimes it is
just you don't need to do anything, just listen. They're easy.
They're totally down for a lone time. Oh yeah, they say.

(05:48):
An excellent boyfriend isn't needy or clinging. He values his
alone time and encourages you to do the same, whether
binge washing, his favorite show, going solo hikes, chill them
with the book. He understands the time of part keeps
things fresh in your space to recharge. One one hundred percent.
I've talked about and I had an ex girlfriend who
she didn't work in the summers, was off summers, and

(06:09):
she had to be around me all the time, and
it drove me crazy.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
I was like, no, I need to have some space.
You know.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
It needs you to go to a different floor of
the house or a different room. No doubt, they pop
champagne when you slay. Absolutely, They say this guy wants
you to win and doesn't feel threatened by your success.
He's probably bragging about you to his friends. When you're
not around your promotion. He's popping champagne. That killer presentation nail,
he's posting a story about it. I like this stuff.

(06:40):
I think it's fun to gas up your person. You
know what I mean because I always think of it
as it's a team victory, Like if somebody with gets
a promotion, that's a good look for you. You know, that's
good look for the whole group. You're both winning. They
don't fake having all the answers. They say, he's not
guy has to be the smartest person in the room.

(07:01):
If he doesn't know something, he admit it, maybe even
laugh about it. I think that's true. It's for it's
a weird thing as adults when there's somebody who acts
if they know everything, and it's like that is odd.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
Nobody knows all that stuff. Do a couple more of these.
They're playful without being immature. That is a fine line,
is it not.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
They say there's a difference between someone playful and someone
never who never grew up. The right guy knows how
to be silly, crack a joke, and make you laugh
at the most unexpected moments. But he also is responsible
when it matters, no doubt.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
Yeah they know.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
They know, like when it's a serious time, when it's time,
a time to just be sad too, you know what
I mean, Like sometimes we gotta sit in our sadness
a little bit. They have cute, weird interests. Okay, maybe
he's obsessed with's vintage cars or spends hours collecting comic books.
Whoever it is, he has a quirky, niche interest he's

(07:55):
passionate about.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
But he doesn't expect you love it. I think for
me as bourbon.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
Like that's mine that yeah, I certainly enjoy, but I
don't expect the person I'm with to be over heels
for it. Now is she drinks a little bit, has
a little some some. I think that's fun. I think
that's a little you know, put some hair on your chest. Absolutely,
they understand the secret to a happy, healthy relationship. They say,

(08:24):
this guy understands that boundaries aren't just something you talk about,
there's something you practice. He's clear by his own or
respects yours without making you feel guilty or selfish, whether
seeing alone time or saying y something doesn't feel right.
Boundaries are never a problem with him. Well yeah, yeah,
I think that makes a lot of sense. Also, I
think as a dude, you respect somebody who has boundaries

(08:48):
and keeps them because that means they keep them in
other areas too. You need somebody with strong boundaries, strong foundation,
strong beliefs, strong boundaries, all that good stuff. Listen. I
appreciate you listening. I hope you have a fantastic and
safe Thanksgiving. If you get a chance to follow me
