Speaker 1 (00:00):
And a happy Wednesday. Friend. Welcome to the Thought Shower.
Intern John is my name. It is a big day.
It is a nervous day. Tomorrow the album is officially
out Showy Forever.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
It's our release day.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Is interesting, you know, it's kind of like Alba a
ticket release day, where it's you do all the work,
the project is done. You know, you took the test
and now it's submitted to be scored, and I don't know,
it's the anxiety of did I do everything I could
to promote it? In this case, I don't know much

(00:39):
more I could done. I've been on TV basically every
day the past a week on different channels, and we
talked about on the show and we posted on Instagram.
So yeah, I think it's more so about hoping that
I did enough to honor him, and I know I did.
I know, like in my deep Hearts of Hearts, I did.

(01:01):
And more importantly, I'm just proud of the of the album.
I'm proud of the work. I'm proud of the live shows.
I think that's the one thing that's special about this too,
it being a live album. You know, I've talked about
here before how I don't try out the jokes before
a show. So when I got on stage at the

(01:24):
Arlington Draft House to do these jokes, that was the
first time doing these jokes. So to hear me back
telling these jokes in front of people for a first time,
it's emotional to hear it really is, and I can
I can hear my voice sometimes where maybe the emotion
was getting to me. But I wouldn't change it for
the world. I think that the show has went perfect

(01:47):
and I'm excited you to hear it. That's all I
can really say. I think it's the perfect way to
honor the legendary Chewy. If you get chance to get
the album, it would mean the world to me. Again
benefits Warrior Knine Connection, Internsoncomedy dot com to get Chewy Forever.

(02:09):
Being kind of like a busy week this week, I
lot going on to Today, I dropped my car off
to get fixed.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Not really a fan of that. Oh the place is fine.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
It's just one of those things where you just go like, Okay,
I'm finally doing okay money wise, ah, and here's the
car saying hold my beer, So I again do that.
They're exciting and then really just try to like ignore
my phone and see tomorrow. If the album what number one,

(02:38):
does that mean it's a failure. If it doesn't, No,
it does not mean that at all. It would just
be very very cool way And to be like, I know,
Chewey wouldn't care. I was thinking about that today I
was getting ready for work. And the great thing about
Chewy and obviously Skittles too, they have no idea what

(02:58):
I do for a living. They have no idea if
I'm successful, They have no idea if people like me.
They just love me for them. And that's pretty cool.
That's a pretty cool thing to think about. So it
mean a lot to me. And I know I'm kind
of talking in circles. It's just a lot kind of
going on. But I have that realization today. Let me

(03:20):
get to this for I talk myself into dizzyness. The
unwritten rules every friend group seems to have. I think
all these pretty much spot on, Starting with the group
text is sacred. Nothing feels as chaotic or comforting as
a buzzing group chat. The digital home, where a plant
is hatched out and every meme is dissected. I think

(03:40):
that's true. I also think that group texts are essential
for keeping up with your friends for keeping that relationship alive.
It's almost like the group chat's a plant, you know,
and you have to keep watering it. If you ignore
the group chat, the vibe could die off. Things could change,

(04:00):
and you don't want that, you know what I mean.
But if you honor the group chat and you pay attention,
it's a good way to stay connected. There is nothing
sadder than the group chat that starts to die off.
You know the code of silence about the past. They
say every group has a collective agreement to leave the

(04:20):
past where it belongs behind you, whether an embarrassing moment
from last year's road trip, we're grable X, there's understanding,
there's topics, they're off limits. I'll say this now with dudes.
Now with dudes, I think when the group chat meets
up in person, Yeah, dudes tend to roast each other

(04:41):
in a fun way. You can't let your buddy forget
about the stupid mistakes he made. It's not the right
thing to do. You gotta remind him, like, hey, we're
watching you.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
You know, we want you to do well.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
However, remember happened last time? Yeah, the go to plan
emerges naturally, and see every friend group naturally identifies as
a planner. This is the person somehow becomes a central
hub for all logistics. They have an innate talent for
scheduling and making sure everyone is where they should be.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
I guess I kind of feel like I tend to
be that in some of my groups, mainly because I
have experienced planning obviously with the comedy too or everything else. Yeah, too,
my schedule kind of dictates what I can do.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
But I didn't.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
That's true, And it's good to have the planning friend
because it's nice sometimes to just show up somewhere, you
know what I mean? Just but all right, Well I'm
just gonna show up and things were taken care of,
you know. Inside jokes are currency, Yes, if I mean
honest with you. If you don't have inside jokes or

(05:47):
like jokes about the past, is it really a friend group,
is it?

Speaker 2 (05:52):
I don't think so.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
If you're not joking about the past and in what's
going on with that, uh, that it's like you're not close. Yeah,
be close to have the inside joke. That's what makes
friends good. The assumed plus one policy and many friend
groups isn't unspoken understanding. Certain events come with assume plus one.
It's not just about the man. Partners could be a

(06:16):
best friend I'm outside of the group, or even a sibling.
I think that's fair. I also think that as long
as you know that the group likes who you're bringing,
there is nothing worse than as a dude when there
is a girlfriend in the group that nobody can stand
because that girl tends to think that everybody loves her.

(06:36):
And it's probably the same for a group of girls
and the boyfriend coming along. For dude, it's like that
girl assumes everyone loves her and it's like, no, we
don't want you to be here, you.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
Know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
And part of that's on your homie. He should be
able to tell his girlfriend, hey, it's a boys night.
So to me, I think it's a matter of how
often the group gets together. If the group doesn't get
together that often, like maybe a year, once a year,
leave the spouse, leave the neighbor, leave the sibling, let
the group hash things out. If the group gets together

(07:10):
fairly off him yeah, by all means yeah, I mean,
but to me, it's like there'd be nothing more annoying
than if I hadn't seen a buddy in forever and
he brought his person, I'd be like, all right, well,
now I can't talk about the dumb stuff he used
to do, you know what I mean. Birthday celebrations are mandatory.
I think that's fair. Most friend groups birthdays are non
negotiable celebrations, whether it's a Foe Boon party or a

(07:33):
low key dinner. I think for dudes too, we rely
on uh, somebody to remind us, you know what I mean.
Like dudes are like, we'll rely on somebody in the
group to be hey, happy birthday, Tim, and then everybody
can be like, oh yeah, Tim, happy birthday, Happy birthday.
You need that person in the group. You need that

(07:54):
person that's gonna remind everybody when birthdays are. You need
that person to hip everybody in the side, like, hey,
just a reminder. You know Chris's Birthday's coming up. What
are we going to do for it? You need that
person as well. That person's almost more important, especially I
work with the show. Usually exhaust knows everybody's birthdays down
to in exact science, and so she'll hit us up

(08:19):
like weeks advances, like, hey, like you know who these
birthdays coming up? What do we want to do? For it,
like well, should you for food? Wish you for this?
And that kind of friend. You can't place a dollar
amount on that because that's huge. Otherwise it'd be like,
oh s all right, let's get them a gift card.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (08:36):
The self appointed photographer. Every friend group is that one
person naturally assumes the role photographer. They're the ones that
can help a document every event, big or small. And
I'll say this, I tend to be the friend who
will take video of my friends doing dumb stuff, and
if I'm being honest, those videos bring joy to the

(08:58):
entire group. Now you know what I mean because I
check my fulb memories every single day just to kind
of see like what was going on years ago, but
what was doing years ago?

Speaker 2 (09:08):
And to see that stuff.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
Oh I forgot I had this video that to me like,
is you know, I'm the the group historian, if you will,
the group documentarian, if you will, just making sure these
memories last a lifetime.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
The ha ha has and the he heez. You know
what I mean. I hope you have a fantastic Wednesday.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
I know I keep saying this, but it would mean
a lot to me to help this album go number one.
If you get a chance today, Internjoncomedy dot com to
get Chewy Forever by this time tomorrow hopefully no if
it's number one album raising money for the Warrior Canine Connection,
Chewy Forever out officially at midnight. Internsjoncomedy dot com, have

(09:54):
a fantastic Wednesday. I will see a Friday. It is
