Speaker 1 (00:00):
From the Zidium podcast Network.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
It's Fleachborn and Haley's a little bit of pod. Welcome
to a little bit of pod.

Speaker 3 (00:09):
We talk a little bit about serendipity, don't we.

Speaker 4 (00:14):
That's when the train doors shut like that movie kind
of and if you were earlier on another train you
might have met the love of your life or something
like that. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
Yeah, moments of chants kind of coming together, or it's.

Speaker 4 (00:31):
Just whoever's controlling us in their Sims game Truman Show.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Yeah, unplanned fortunate discovery. I had a moment of serendipity
last night. As you know, my bestie Is was staying
for Metal.

Speaker 4 (00:46):
Liquor meat licker, Yeah, meat licker, and Is she's staying
on to do tool as well.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
No, she has to go home because she has kids
in a job.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Oh horrible. A.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
It's a lot of people in New Zealand experiencing the
Bogan double play, the Big Bogan Week.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
I'm double playing someday I'm playing. Yeah, yeah, I'm back
back maybe and better than ever. So I had a moment.
We're my best friend who we've got quite similar taste,
and you guys met her. She was weraring a liprint
skirt and a Metallica T shirt and Doc Martin's I mean,
you see why we're connected at the soul. And she
was complaining that she had bought this ring and it

(01:22):
was too big for her finger, and she was like pulling.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
It on and off.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
It was driving it crazy. Now we're very different sizes.
I'm bigger, she's smaller. Yeah, in every which way. And
she was like, oh my god, this ring. It's annoying
me so much. I could see her playing with it.
She's I'm so gutted. I have to get it resized.
I looked down and I was like, you've got to
be kidding me.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
And it was this ring.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Oh you do not have the same one.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
I go into my wardrobe and I pull out this
exact ring, which is too small for me. We go,
oh my god, it's glass slipper. She slips her one
onto mine. I slipped my one onto hers. We both
ended up with the perfect size ring.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
That is actually insane.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
And you're so good.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
You never said at the time, oh my god, I
bought this ring.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
No, no, no, nothing.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
I didn't even know she'd bought it, and I had
bought it and it was too because I brought my
second hand. I had bought it and it was too small,
and it just sat in my wardrobe like, oh, well,
I guess I.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Won't be able to wear that.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
How long for?

Speaker 3 (02:18):
I've probably had mine for like nearly a year, really unworn?

Speaker 2 (02:22):
How long she had hers for? Too small?

Speaker 1 (02:26):
She bought her second too big. She brought her second
hand as well, too big.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
There was so do you know the origins of this ring?
Who made it?

Speaker 3 (02:35):
Friends?

Speaker 2 (02:35):
It was all my rings.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
So they're just the ones that they always have, you know, like, no,
that's why they've been around for a while.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
That's actually a crazy story.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
It's so perfect. It was literally she slid it onto
the one finger that I don't wear a ring on,
slip down, and then her finger that she was trying
to put hers on, I slipped and slip on.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
It's starting to look like some of the knowns of
football team they wear a lot of rings.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Yeah, yeah, super rich, sort of goffy.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
Not a football team.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
I've never worn a jewelry ever.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Do try one on?

Speaker 1 (03:09):
No?

Speaker 2 (03:10):
I hate it? Yeah, I don't. I used to love
a mad butcher set up with a lot.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
Of rings around. That's I think the biggest one.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
But one you have worn, you know, and wedding bands
and stuff, but I've never ever I'll try one on.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
That one might be what the gym?

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Though?

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Do you trying to think about? What's my fattest one?

Speaker 2 (03:32):
That one, the one you just chucked me fit's on
my little that scares me.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
I don't have to suck your finger to get it off.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Yeah, you know what I mean. The ladies.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
Ladies aren't complaining about that fat knuckle. No God, no
love a fat nut. That was my nickname, fat knuckle,
fat nucks.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
You plum with fat nucks.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
Well, I it was honestly perfect. No one has to
spend any money, no one has to get.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Anything, and serendipitous.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
Also the fact that it's just your beast free you know,
it's the exact same ring.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
That's insane.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
I told you I said this. She is my soulmate.
And this was just another sign why?

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Sign?

Speaker 3 (04:10):
Why sign?

Speaker 2 (04:11):
Why? It doesn't make it? It doesn't. It just sounds weird.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
This was just another sign, example of why, sign of why.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
You'd say, would you say sign of why? Sign of why?

Speaker 3 (04:23):
Because you'd say, this is another reason why?

Speaker 2 (04:25):
So this is another sign that just sounds wrong.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Why it doesn't sound And this is just another example
of how why that she is just another sign that
she Why is she's wise

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
