(00:00):
Thank Camari. Congratulations man, Uh, Kirby Smart's pretty adamant. You can
play all over the defensive backfield.Where do you anticipate playing here with the
Texans and what do you want Texansfans to know about what you're going to
bring to a really good football team. Uh? You know, I feel
like, you know, I canplay anyone secondary wherever the coaching staff and
the staff you know needs me.I feel like I can go in and

(00:21):
play do it at a high level. The Texans fans, you guys are
getting somebody who's the ultimate competitor, you know, someone who's a real life
dog, someone who hates to lose, hates losing more than he loves winning.
Someone who will stopping nothing to besuccessful. Jonathan Ingratulations. Uh,

(00:42):
I'm curious. Yeah, before beforeyou got drafted to Texan, what were
your interactions with them? Did youmeet with them much? And what what
were your your impressions? Thank you, sorry about that, Thank you so
much, Thank you, thank you. Uh, you know, I met
with the Texans at the combine andthen I often met with them via zoom

(01:06):
later in the prof Thank you andeverything. You know, I feel like
everything went very well. I feellike I made a good im question on
them, and I really feel inthe coaching staff, you know, just
from you know, how host theywere, you know, just off the
beginning, not even knowing that's so, I feel like, you know,
the coaching staff was someone who Icould really click with and really be able
to play up on Aaron Wilson Marian, congratulations on joining the Texans. The

(01:36):
competition he see. How much doyou feel like that really prepared you for
what you're going to have here inthe NFL And what are some of your
goals you'll have for your rookie season. Thank you. You know, I
feel like, you know, playingin the SEC is like a direct typeline
to you know, playing in theleague. You know, he played some
of the best players in the country. You know, you're playing the best

(01:57):
conference and you play the best football, and uh, you know, I
was blessed be able to play that, uh, you know, for the
last three years and now it reallyhelped me become a better man and a
better football player. My rookie myrookie season. You know, I just
feel like I want to come inand I just really want to earn respecting
my teammates and my coaches and beable to, you know, show them
that I'm someone who's reliable. I'msomeone that you can count on to do
whatever it is that you want meto do. Brian Bearfield, thank man,

(02:23):
Welcome to Houston, Brian Barfield,Big Sarge. Media. Everybody just
called me Sorrge. So around herejust called me Sorrge. I want to
ask you two quick questions. One, well, how do you feel knowing
that you're going to be playing fora defensive minded coach like the Miko Ryance?
And can you explain the chain tous? Could you repeat that last

(02:44):
part of the question please? Sorryabout that. Oh, I just want
to know if you can explain theunlock chain to us after your yes,
sir. But playing for coach Ryans, I feel like it'll be great.
You know, I was best playingon Coach Money. He's very heavy defensive
lind Of guess I feel like, you know, it's gonna be a pretty
good transition. But you know,I'm excited, you know, get in

(03:06):
there and learn up under Coach Ryansand the chain. You know, I
called myself to locksmith and you knowI prought myself on having stuff on lock,
so you not really wanted to geta lock and just put you know,
the name Locksmith last on there, and then it's kind of, you
know, say, I got thison lot right now, So cool,
Tom Finn fMRI, Welcome to Houston, man, congratulations on the pick.

(03:30):
Just when you look back at yourtime in the SEC, what do you
remember about a guy like Derek Stingleywho's translated to this defense. And also
another part of the question, yougot to play against c J. Stroud
in the College Football Playoff back intwenty twenty two. What do you remember
about him and how was he grown? And then howard excited are you to
be able to play with a quarterbackthat is being considered one of the rising

(03:53):
stars in the industry. I'll putit like this on STEJ Stroud gave us
all and in the Piece Bowl,I don't I don't remember him. I
don't remember too many passes in theground. And that was the few games
that we really uh that we reallyjust didn't really have a true answer for
for the quarterback. So that's onething that I that I basically remember my

(04:14):
sophomore year. We we script outthere barely. But to answer the first
was the first part of your questionagain, as another cornerback that's been able
to translate to the NFL from theSEC, what have you seen from a
guy like Derek Stinglely and what doyou think you can learn underneath him during
your time here? Oh, DerekStinctly, I mean just just watching him

(04:35):
whenever I was still in the hospital, I was like, dang, this
man is just I mean when whenyou talk about just pure raw talent,
just a true corner guy who canjust go out there and just play anyone
in the field and be able toyou know, run and go with the
best of them, you know,I feel like Derrick Stingley is definitely one
of those guys. And I feellike, you know, just being able
to, you know, kind oflearn up under from a guy like that
who's been in the league for acouple of years and kind of earned respect

(04:55):
around the league. You know.I feel like that's someone who I could
definitely you know, take parts ofhis game to add him add online.
Kim Davis, Hey, welcome toHouston is uh and congratulations. I'm Kim
Davis from Chalk Talk. I justwant to follow up kind of, uh,
kind of piggyback on what Cole justsaid about how do you think you

(05:18):
uh fit in with this offense fromwhat you've seen and with some of the
people that you mentioned it Derek Stingly, what is it about you that we
should know about how you can helpthis defense? I mean, I feel
like I feel like, you know, the Texans are coming back with,
you know, a different kind ofmindset. You know, they're bringing a
different approach to the game. AndI feel like, you know, I

(05:38):
feel like the staff is bringing alot of a lot of the guys who
have the same mindset, you know, guys who really want to be successful,
were willing to do We're willing toeat off the floor. And I
feel like, you know, Iadd that to the team, and you
know, I feel like that's whyI was less to be an addition to
the team. Thank you last onefor Aaron, Sorry chance, we'll get
you next go ahead erin than Whenit comes to the nickel positions, how

(06:04):
come for are you lining up doingthat? Playing in skis in the slot?
They said something you have a sleepingamount of experience and what is your
approach to playing nickel or playing outside? Thank you? Uh, I feel
like I feel like, you know, I'd be very confident. You know,
I've been practicing, you know,Nickel all throughout my college career,

(06:24):
and I always started there one time, but you know, I always was
able to get a couple of repshere in there, and I feel like,
you know, if I really neededto do it, I'd be able
to do it at very high levels. All Right, we'll close with Chancellor
and Jonathan. Go ahead. Chancefor Johnson. Hey, Martic, congratulations.
Obviously with the NFL Draft, younever know where you're gonna end up

(06:44):
at this What was your initial thoughtsto getting the phone call from the Texans
knowing that you're coming to Houston andplaying with the new organization. Man,
I've been saying for a long time. I was like, man, I
really want to go to Newston. And I was just you know, saying
it, you know, very slightly, not knowing that you know, it
was gonna come true. And uh, and I got the call earlier,
and and uh it was just really, you know, you dream about having

(07:06):
that call your whole life, andmy phone just I had bad service so
that I hung right in the middleof their face. But uh, but
man, whenever I got a callback, and it was and it was
the fifth drot Man. It wasjust a way of emotion. My my
mom, my grandma, my pops, all my family here and just being
everybody just be so happy. Uh. It's something that you know, I'll
never forget. Quick follow up tothat, you said you always want to

(07:28):
go to Houston? Why is then, well, you really want to go
to Houston? I feel like, you know, coming up in this draft
process, I was, you know, I watched Houston Playition. I was
like, you know, that's ayoung team, and you know, I
feel like, you know, that'sthat's somewhere where I really enjoy playing.
You know, you know, youalways, you know, watch football and
you think teams where you feel likeyou would be able to fit in and
you think that you enjoy playing at. I feel like Houston is one of
those places. Go ahead, JohnEvan, last one, right, I

(07:55):
do like to change than did you? Did you get a custom made?
Like? How did that? Yes? So so the way the way I
had it made. My pops actuallydesigned it for me. He actually had
the idea made. He was like, you should get a lot, you
know, you Blocksmith. So it'sreally it's a lot And the only person
who got the key is me.So the key goes inside of the of

(08:16):
the you know, the little rightthere. So I'm the only person who
has keyed this lock. That's whyI got it on the lock. Thank
you, Kamari, congrats again.Thank y'all, thank y'all so much
