is dominant, Uh, you know, always looking to find you know,
work, always looking to uh youknow, find ways to help the you

(00:22):
know, the boys next to me, the guys next to me. And
then on top of that, youknow, just finished. And I think
that's the biggest thing, Uh,just finishing, Like did you have an
inkling that the Texans were very interestedin you? Did you meet with them,
visit with them? And what's yourthoughts on joining a team that has
experienced offensive linemen and Titus Howard andLarami Son? Thank you? Yeah,

(00:47):
for sure. I would definitely say, uh, you know, I met
with them during the combine. Uh, you know, had a formal visit
with them, and then I wouldsay, you know, I had a
couple of zooms with them. Butthen another interest is this high but uh,
you know, love love this opportunity, especially being able to be uh
you know back with you know oneof my OG's from you know, college,

(01:07):
Jared Patterson. Uh, and youknow then you know, young and
upgrowing team. You know, justbeing able to contribute, uh, you
know, just bring you know whatI bring to the game, you know,
to this program or to this tothis organization. Cody Cody Davis from
Sports Illustrated, Blake, I wasactually gonna ask you on what do you
remember about playing alongside your former collegeteammate and Jered Patterson. Yeah. Man,

(01:33):
when I first got to ind hewas just you know, the guy
that always took me in, youknow, always, you know, just
making sure that I was good onyou know, plays, different stuff stuff
like that, you know, justmaking sure I'm ready to go. You
know, he believed in me.You know from day one. I told
him, you know, I wantto come in and start as a freshman.
And then you know, then youknow him then just you know,

(01:56):
just having you know the role ofa vet, a leader, taking me
under and then just showing me theropes. Really so, you know,
I love JP man, that's mydog. I'm so excited to get back
with him. Cole Thompson Paul Thompson, Texans Wire USA Today, Blake,
congratulations on being selected. Welcome toHouston. It's two part question. Part

(02:20):
one, what do you remember aboutwatching c J. Stroud in college and
how he's translated to the NFL?And then part two, howard excited Are
you to be a part of anoffense that took new heights last year and
was one of the main reasons whythis team made it to the postseason for
sure? Uh, I would justsay dominant. You know, you know

(02:42):
CJ's a baller on you know, his mentality every time he hits the field
as a winner's mentality. Uh.And then you know his off the line,
being able to block for him puthim in the best position that uh,
you know it's possible, excuse me, him being you know him he
is off of the line, youknow, be able to block for him,
put him in the best vision aspossible. And then you know him

(03:04):
just going to work, being agreat athlete, being a great leader.
You can see it. You know, the guys around the you know,
the team, they're really respecting, you can tell. You can see that.
So you know, really, youknow, seeing the camaraderie that they
have amongst the off of the line, you know, and their QB and
so and so forth. It's reallyexciting to join Jonathan Alexander Blake congratulations.

(03:29):
Yeah, I was curious, whydidn't you think the Texans interest was was
that high? And then I'll askyou a question after that, Uh,
they kind of hit it, youknow what I mean, like you know,
like when you can kind of tella kind of sense like okay,
like this team could be in theplay. But I really didn't get any
signs from them. You know,I had a quick zoom with them,
you know, a couple of weeksago, and you know I was in

(03:51):
the format the combat. I everheard anything else really, so you know,
to to you know, kind ofknow that there was a team you
know, interested, you know inme, kind of you know under the
rug. You know, if youwill, it's a blessing, you know,
a blessing for sure. Let melet me know that somebody believes in
me and uh believe that you know, I can be you know, a
big contribution to you know, tothe group. And and second, secondly,

(04:12):
what were your overall impressions. Iknow you've spoken a little bit about
it through the previous questions, butwhat were your overall impressions of them?
And great coaching staff. They loveball, you know, on top of
love and ball, they just reallylove their players. You know, players
coaches you know really want their playersto be successful and want to find all
the ways that you know they can. You know, he help their players

(04:35):
be successful. Brian Bearfield, Hey, what's going on? Blake? Brian
Bearsfield, Big Stars Media. Ihave two questions quick questions for you.
First, have you ever been toHouston? What do you know about Houston?
Uh? Nah, I've never beento Houston before, So tomorrow will

(04:57):
be my first time being to Houston. Yep. I trained in Dallas for
the Combine, training Dallas for theCombine, never been to Houston. Always
heard, you know, Houston isa great place. You know everybody say
everybody says everything's bigger in Texas,so I'm sure Houston, you know,
is the same. Uh. Youknow, pretty good food, not pretty
really good food, really good foodout in Dallas. Uh, I don't

(05:19):
know what it's like in Houston. So definitely excited to see. And the
second question I have for you isI see the excitement on your face and
how excited you are, But howexcited is your family for this opportunity for
you to play in the NFL?For sure? Oh man, it's a
it's a blessing. You know,I've been through a lot. Uh,

(05:40):
I've been through a lot, man. You know, just you know ups
and downs of college, you know, getting her freshman year, coming back,
and then you know, just thethe opportunity to you know, play
at the highest level and then youknow, bring my you know, physical
mental mentality, all that you knowto to to that old lie group.

(06:00):
You know they're in Houston. Imean, you know, just give them
what I provide back with my guyJared Patterson, So you know, parents
and family and so forth know thatgoing into it. So it's exciting,
you know when you can be backwith a guy that took you under his
wing as a freshman, and youknow saw you grows excited for you.
I was just on the phone withhim, just called him so like it's
it's love. Man, It's exciting. Thank you. Kim Davis, Hey

(06:27):
Blake, It's Kim Davis from TalkTalk. Congratulations and welcome to Houston.
I have a kind of a goodhave kind of a two part question.
First, you said you talked toJared today. Prior to that, had
he talked much? Had you talkedto him? Did you know much about?
Uh? This this team from himprior to today. Yeah, man,
Jp, I talked to JP quiteoften really, you know, especially

(06:49):
going through this process, is makingsure that you know, I'm across my
eyes or dot my eyes across myt's on everything, and you know,
if I'm not to worry about something, you know, just reaching out to
him and you know, asking himfor confirmation and or you know, just
you know his thought on it,you know, going through the process.
But uh, I would definitely say, you know, JP is a He's
a great dude, great football player. You know. It's excited to be

(07:12):
back with him for sure. Andthis and the second thing is I know
that you are have played a lotof tackle. They say that you're really
versatile. Are you comfortable on theinside as well? Yeah, I never
played inside, but I'm not opposedto being on the inside. You know,
I feel like I'm a versus stillplayer. I feel like there's a
lot that I could do with mygame, you know, left right tackle,
but really I just want to comein and contitute, you know,
wherever that is. You know, left tackle, right tackle, right guard,

(07:34):
right left guard. Never played centerbefore, you know, so you
know, if that's what they want, you know, I got it.
You know, but uh, youknow my j you know, my my
dog JP's at center, so Ithink you cann hold it down, you
know, in there in the middle. But nah, man, I'm excited.
All right. Thank you. Congratulationsagain, ma'am. Brandon Scott hey

feel like prepared you for this moment. You talk about being going through a
lot. Would you say, islike the biggest lesson you learn that you
feel like prepared you for this momentin your next challenge in life? Here?

(08:20):
Yeah, man, I would justsay be at where your feet are?
You know, Uh, I thinkyou know, uh, you know,
sometimes I wanted to kind of getahead of myself a little bit.
Oh man, I feel like Ishould have went there or man, I
just you know, I'm anxious, stressed, you know. But this whole
process, like it's like I saidset before, it's a blessing, right,
So within that blessing, there's goingto be adversity you know that comes

(08:43):
you know, even without you know, the last two days whatever, It's
been a day and a half. But you know, I knew God had
a plan, and man, Goddid That's one for Aaron. Hey,
blik, here's what in your draftprocess? Did you go on a lot
of visits? We are some thatyou remember in the process and had a

follow up. Yeah, twelve thirty. I went to both both Ohio teams,
Cincinnati and Cleveland, Miami Steelers,my Philly Polts Bears went to uh,
