Speaker 8 (00:34):
All good?
Speaker 5 (00:37):
It's rent for you?
Speaker 6 (00:38):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (00:41):
Yeah, I was. I'm doing great. That is Friday? I
like Fridays. What's what's today? What's the theme?
Speaker 7 (00:46):
Day? U?
Speaker 9 (00:47):
What is it?
Speaker 6 (00:47):
Fight song Friday?
Speaker 5 (00:48):
Oh? Is that what it is?
Speaker 6 (00:49):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (00:50):
Okay, making sure, Ma'm sure. I was out of the
assumption that fights so on Friday. But somehow I've heard
it phrase different before by you aff air. Yeah yeah, yeah.
The FCC regulations restrict restricts me from saying what we
(01:11):
call it. We is there a mouse in your pocket?
Speaker 6 (01:14):
We're a team here on the Shawn Salisbury Show.
Speaker 5 (01:17):
We are in this love together.
Speaker 6 (01:19):
Damn Skippy, what's up?
Speaker 5 (01:21):
Man?
Speaker 6 (01:23):
Well, at least didn't get swept.
Speaker 5 (01:25):
Nope, told you, and we're just getting swept by the a's.
Speaker 6 (01:30):
Well, they lost the series to him.
Speaker 5 (01:32):
Yea, they did. It was uh, you know from ber
maybe not as sharp, but still got his you know,
put him in a position to you know, even get
to win. Presley with a big win. Yeah, give up
a dinger, right, go Press got his win, call him
press now when he wins, he's Press.
Speaker 4 (01:52):
So Presley gave up a homer, Josh Hater gave up
a homer. Yeah, non safe situation, dingers, but they took
care of their business, got it done. I guess how
two ve feels better? It's war on the street. I
mean that's what they're saying. Yeah, that's what they're saying.
We are in a stretch run, now, are we?
Speaker 7 (02:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (02:12):
You know we've also what is there sixteen games? Sixteen
games left?
Speaker 5 (02:15):
Yeah, something like that.
Speaker 4 (02:15):
Yeah, I mean we heard christ Navier's neck wasn't that bad?
Speaker 5 (02:22):
Little discomfort?
Speaker 6 (02:23):
Well, neck discomfort. So hopefully they're used to start tonight.
Speaker 5 (02:28):
Is it row the road Blanco than Verlander then, because
I know ro Blanco is Yeah, isn't it this three
games tonight?
Speaker 4 (02:38):
It's Kokuchi, it goes Kokuchi, Verland or Blanco?
Speaker 5 (02:41):
All right? So those three not bad?
Speaker 4 (02:45):
Oh, and a much needed series. Interested to see how
Verlander pitches on Saturday.
Speaker 5 (02:51):
Yeah, he's going to be watched closely, I would imagine
not only by us, but by his staff and I
mean his coaches, and just to see where he is
with that velocity that was up, location and movement. We'll
see where that falls in and that will be Saturday. Correct,
He's a middle guy of this three game series. Indeed,
(03:12):
a good win for the Astros. You know, if you
just shoot par the rest of the way, you probably
have a chance.
Speaker 6 (03:16):
To win the thing.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
Yeah, the Mariners were up big, well not big, but
I believe they're up five to nothing, four nothing against
the Rangers last night.
Speaker 6 (03:23):
Rangers came back in one.
Speaker 5 (03:25):
Those are costly losses for a team that's in a
chase mode.
Speaker 6 (03:30):
You can't lose those games.
Speaker 5 (03:31):
Nope.
Speaker 4 (03:31):
Now, well you got a lead like that, Now you've
got a good pitching staff. Ao Wes League goes back
up to four and a half. I mean, it's it's Seattle.
What are we doing. You're in a mode where you
have to try to chase down these Houston Astros and
you're blowing games late.
Speaker 5 (03:51):
Yeah, well that'll keep them from from here. We keep
on blowing them. You know what, I'm saying, I'm sorry,
what just keep on blowing them the game games? Oh okay, yeah,
you said they're blowing games. Yes, you said you can't
do it, and they said, well, keep on blowing them
the games. Yeah, because if you keep on blowing the games,
and all you ask has got to do is match
(04:12):
you loss for lost or win for win, and you
win the division. Yeah, it's really all it takes. You know,
when you thought it. You're about a two forty five
from the flag stick on a par five. Now the
question is green side bunker's little water on the left.
You're sitting in the ball above your feet. Pin cut
back left draw lie draw pin water on the left,
(04:36):
draw water. Okay, So I mean the truth is you
just throw it out and leave over the right bunker
in the middle of the green.
Speaker 10 (04:42):
Right.
Speaker 6 (04:42):
Yeah, we didn't come here to lay out.
Speaker 5 (04:43):
Okay, So let me ask you to forty five. Yeah
you got. I mean, I'm hitting my five iron, so
you're laying up and they're gonna just no, No, I can
get on the green from two forty five with a
five iron, your ass. But go ahead, come again, low liner,
let it roll you meat a. You mean try and sticker.
It hit a skull shot that states on the hard
(05:04):
of the state's playable. He said, it's a doch a lot.
Oh yeah, five iron, dude to the middle of the
from the middle of the the middle of the greed
and warm burner's working the middle of the greed. Two
putt and get out exactly, so two forty five. So
you have the choice, okay, do I risk I'm talking
about the amateur. The pros are going forward to hit
the middle of green and they're hitting a like a
(05:25):
six hire. You're you're probably instead of in a par five.
You know, you want to make birdie, but you know
you're doing You're probably hitting your two forty three. You
want to be able to hit a you just you don't. Basically,
you just hit a nine iron in the middle and
they hit a one hundred yard I mean then you
get a full swing wedge or sand wedge into the green,
a little gap wedge. I mean that sounded up two putt.
(05:46):
That sounds fantastic. I mean I did it yesterday. Take
for instance, the par five sixteenth. The par five sixteenth,
you go driver to the middle six iron to lay
up because it's a little two and there's one dangerous
whole pin cut about four feet for the left of
the hole, so you can't short side yourself hit in
the middle five aren't. Then take a gap wedge to
(06:08):
twelve feet and I short sighted myself. But thank goodness,
land over the water short side make a birdie put.
I mean, yeah, I'm not really, that's all it was.
I'm not a pro, not even an amateur. I'm just
a guy. So we're not laying up. So going for
it even with the when you got the tournament one,
you're gonna take what turna is your ego cut?
Speaker 11 (06:30):
Yeah? Right, Hey, hey, I could hear you. I didn't
come here to lay up. It's the master screw you.
I never wanted but I didn't come here to lay up.
Speaker 5 (06:37):
Yeah, I'm just walking you through what I did.
Speaker 6 (06:39):
Yes, what's that move? What's the movie? Tin cup?
Speaker 4 (06:41):
To pat myself off the bath is a tin cup
where it's.
Speaker 5 (06:44):
Like he takes a thirteen or whatever.
Speaker 4 (06:46):
It's what does he say, Yes, holds his head out
and he smokes it.
Speaker 5 (06:52):
But he hits it up on that thing on the green,
but with the backspin, it keeps rolling back into the water.
That's you. He an't come here to lay up?
Speaker 6 (06:59):
Why not?
Speaker 5 (07:00):
So all the astle's gotta do is in truth, make
par especially when Seattle's gonna blow leads like that. Yeah
and double bogie. Yeah, pretty much you're taking and you're
just gonna flail away to hope you want.
Speaker 6 (07:18):
Hey, Jason Hayward hit a home run last night?
Speaker 5 (07:20):
He did.
Speaker 6 (07:21):
Indeed, he did in the seventh inning.
Speaker 4 (07:23):
Jason, Hey, I'm sorry in the second inning, Jason the
seventh of the year, singing yeah, sings, Yeah, I sure
did three hits, singing one RBI.
Speaker 6 (07:37):
John Fingleton, what do they call him? That's gonna be
another basic for singing.
Speaker 5 (07:47):
Uh, nobody calls him nobody? Yeah, singing.
Speaker 6 (07:58):
Yeah, we're not doing that here, so no, we're not, No,
we're not. What do you have?
Speaker 4 (08:01):
Three hits, two runs an RBI? Jake Myers had a
big hit in that inning. You bonded as well? You know,
I believe it was what the eighth inning? Yeah, I
think so. And then hey, runners of scoring position four
for eleven last night, right yesterday afternoon.
Speaker 6 (08:21):
I should say it's gonna get.
Speaker 5 (08:23):
Them in trouble in the postseason against good team. It is,
you know, they you can get by playing against teams
and they're good enough. Their pitching has been good enough
that they can survive some low scoring games where they're
leaving guys stranded. But when you run into you know,
teams like the Yankees or Cleveland or in this World Series,
the Dodgers or the Phillies, you just can't do that.
(08:44):
You do that, you'll get beat and it won't take long.
And you look, unless your pitchings lights out and you
do the same thing to their to their batting order,
it's tough to do.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
Man.
Speaker 5 (08:53):
You can't can't keep leaving those guys on, and especially
in the postsequ when everybody's good. Yet the Astrolls seem
to raise their game against good so we'll see you.
Speaker 4 (09:01):
Look at this lineup yesterday, Bregman, Alvarez Pana over thirteen
with two strikeouts, no walks. Holy hell, over thirteen. That's
crazy and they still won.
Speaker 5 (09:14):
I wonder how if Bregman's elbow is affecting his times.
Speaker 6 (09:18):
At the plate.
Speaker 4 (09:19):
So the last wise so the last uh one of
the last updates that I believe it was Joe a
Spot or maybe it was Bregmant himself.
Speaker 6 (09:28):
He said that, Uh. I think this was a week ago,
literally a week ago.
Speaker 4 (09:31):
He said that when it does flare up, it affects
his hitting more than throwing, or his swing more than
the throw.
Speaker 6 (09:37):
Yeah, well that's which is interesting.
Speaker 5 (09:40):
But not enough to it's it's it's reeks of get
surgery the second the season's over.
Speaker 4 (09:45):
Oh, get that over. Just scrape it out. Yeah, a
little scope or whatever. Yeah, it's it's gonna happen. I
would think so, yeah, because the uh you know, you know,
you can't have gremlins in your elbow. You really can't
have gremlins anywhere. No, well that's true as well, not
very not very obviously. Bregman and Alvarez going over nine.
Speaker 5 (10:05):
That's for sure, and still find a way to win,
which is even better. So there you go.
Speaker 4 (10:10):
Yeah, they made another air last night too. You gotta
figure that out. Singleton throwing it away singing.
Speaker 5 (10:19):
They made it up for it the plate.
Speaker 6 (10:20):
Though we're not calling him singing.
Speaker 5 (10:22):
Well you do. You know when you tag, when you
text tripley and I always say, hey man, my favorite
player on the team is singing and stuff, you always
call him singing. It's weird that you don't acknowledge that
on the air, though. It's kind of weird to me,
You're like Nick day Man, Sean, did you see singing
at bat? And I say singing, Oh yeah, singing. We
(10:42):
call him singing and tripley and I always ask you
why do you call him singing? And you really don't
have an answer, but you just keep calling in that
and then you shy away from it on their it's.
Speaker 6 (10:51):
Weird, that's fake news. That is welcome to society.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
That's true. Man, Let's do it is true. All right,
let's let's talk about these astros and that win. Last night,
Joe spot I gave an update on Jose alt Jose Altuve.
What's going on with Jose al tove? Let's talk about
it next?
Speaker 5 (11:10):
Well, Tuve.
Speaker 6 (11:13):
Oh also check this out.
Speaker 5 (11:15):
I should have warned if Sewn Holy cares about cold hard.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
Back to the Sean Salisbury Show on Sports Talk seven ninety.
Speaker 5 (11:24):
Yeah, I mean, don't you think it? I mean, I mean,
h here, I mean, all of a sudden, Altuve may
come walking out of that h GIV you know what
I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (11:31):
Yeah, with the what are they buttered tortillas on the
wall or whatever?
Speaker 5 (11:35):
Yeah, you know, and uh, just to get them all
I mean, King Tuck might come out of there. You
know what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (11:43):
Apparently he's gonna play outfield this weekend.
Speaker 5 (11:47):
And you know what, I'm here for it.
Speaker 6 (11:49):
I hope, I hope he found his crown. Well, how
does that go again?
Speaker 4 (11:54):
King Tuck may have lost with the crown blummer. Now
that he's back off the injured, he might have might
have might have found it.
Speaker 5 (12:04):
That's your your t K talk.
Speaker 6 (12:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 12 (12:07):
Uh.
Speaker 13 (12:07):
Joe.
Speaker 4 (12:08):
Joe Aspota yesterday before the game said Jose al To
had additional imaging done today on his right side. A
spot has said, quote everything looks okay, and quote al
two remains day to day.
Speaker 6 (12:19):
We sure looks okay.
Speaker 5 (12:22):
Well, it's day to day. I guess see, I guess
it'll be okay if we see if we don't see
him in the Angels lineup, will you be concerned?
Speaker 6 (12:31):
Yeah, a little bit, a little bit.
Speaker 7 (12:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (12:35):
So if you don't see him in the Angels lineup,
isn't that gonna be isn't that like, well, wouldn't that
be like five five days now against the Angels?
Speaker 6 (12:42):
Yeah, yeah, it'll be.
Speaker 5 (12:45):
If you don't see him against the Angels, that'll be
like five days, six days. So there's your day to day,
won't you be a little bit concerned six days he
got hurt yesterday, two days ago. All right, if he
doesn't play in the Angels see at all? Yes, I
think I meant today, Yeah, because then you got to
turn around go play San Diego. There you go. So
(13:08):
that's all I'm saying. You're gonna get a better idea
of your feels about how if you if it's more severe,
if he's feeling better and he still doesn't play in
the Angel game, then you don't really have time to
sit back and say, oh, you know, we're in no rush,
kind of in a rush.
Speaker 6 (13:22):
You think that's over precautious or do you think it's.
Speaker 5 (13:26):
I don't know at this stage. If it was, if
it was in June, it'd be a different story. I'd say, oh,
probably over over precaution. But why are you do you
really have time to be too cautious now? So that
that's a that's to me, that's that's a if he
doesn't play this when there's it's it's more than oh
(13:48):
we're good and more than precaution. I think that it's
it becomes a little bit more important and you wonder
why he's not there, and and if it was sixty
games to go, you can be more cautious, right, you're
pushing inside of ten here in the next six seven
games or so.
Speaker 4 (14:05):
Yeah, So there's sixteen games left, four and a half
game lead because the Mariners blew it last night, and
I mean, I think they can get it done over
the next couple series without him. Oh I do too,
But he still hose al two Van. You want him
in the lineup because he's your guy.
Speaker 5 (14:24):
If he hasn't played over the weekend and we rolled
in the next week on Sunday night and you don't
know what's going on in the week I would think
you'd be a little more concerned, right, But if they're
just in and now, if he come back next week
and he's still not playing the data Brown's on this
show on Wednesday, he may still just be a day
(14:46):
to day thing. Day to day doesn't mean it's not serious.
Day to day could if we've heard day to day
and day today ended up on the IL for something. Yeah,
so you got to watch it closely. Let's hope, you know,
since if it's just a strain or discomfort and he
comes back. But I I'm never comfortable with it until
I see the guy back in the lineup swinging the bat.
So I'm a little bit I'm not, you know, panicked
(15:09):
about it, but I am a little m because he's
been there before with this.
Speaker 4 (15:15):
I think my my favorite part about this whole thing
is they just keep saying it's just his.
Speaker 6 (15:18):
Right side, So like the whole like, like where does
that start?
Speaker 4 (15:22):
You know, like armpit down, down your waist like that,
just this whole side we can't get you know, what's
what's actually wrong?
Speaker 5 (15:29):
No, you can't Like is that a rib?
Speaker 6 (15:32):
Like what is that?
Speaker 5 (15:32):
You rib? Cartilage? Is it a bak?
Speaker 6 (15:35):
Is it like to the right of his chest?
Speaker 5 (15:38):
Is it in your latisimus stor side for smiths? Yeah? Yeah,
like what is it you got? It could be the obak,
is it? It could be themUS door side. You know,
we're gonna start talking about it, like is it the
right side? I mean, is it his right tricep that's
on the right side? I mean, is it a hip
flexer that's on your right side or that? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (15:59):
I want on your right I mean what were we doing? Yeah,
I just give us some details.
Speaker 5 (16:06):
Yeah, we're gonna start talking medical terms here, see what
else we got on the right. What what what do
you do? You like to call it a latisicamus door?
So what about the uh what they is it the
lower coast coastal cartilage? It could be it really could. Yeah,
what we got going on here? Pectoralis major minor?
Speaker 6 (16:25):
There you go?
Speaker 5 (16:26):
You got both? Right? Is it the pectoralis major or
is it the pectoralis minor?
Speaker 6 (16:31):
I mean, what are we doing here? Let's see what
you got.
Speaker 5 (16:33):
If it was a lower half injury, we could do
a lot of speculation. Right, they go lower half. You
know what I'm saying. In the in the medical terms,
you could say, is it the gluteus maximus?
Speaker 7 (16:42):
Right?
Speaker 5 (16:42):
Right? Is it the what's it with the sciatica? Could
have could be sciatica? That it is tough. I don't
have nothing to do with penile. You know what I'm saying.
We're going medical. It's not there, but I'm keeping an eye.
The steaky one could be the laticamus doors. That's what
we did for us. Everything we spoke of was in
(17:05):
medical terms. Yeah, this is everything. Yeah, how's your VO
two bax this morning? Triple?
Speaker 1 (17:19):
Okay?
Speaker 5 (17:20):
How's your art rate? Swarty Brad?
Speaker 4 (17:21):
That's it's great, Yeah, yeah, how's your systolic and diastolic?
Is that the external inner coastal? Is it the spleeniest
services seratus posterior superior?
Speaker 5 (17:37):
It could be, you know, that's on your right side.
It could be. It really could be. What about your
rhomboid major? The rhomboid's a tough area. You go all
the way up above the shoulder and now you're talking.
You know, we went from lats now we're talking to
that could be the trapeziest.
Speaker 4 (17:53):
Yeah, could be, yeah, it could be up. Yeah, that's
on your right side as well. You want to get
into that deltoid either, I'm telling you, dude, L four
L five possibly from that as much as possible. So
which is it?
Speaker 5 (18:08):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (18:09):
Let's get Jeremiah Randall on the horn astros trainer, Jeremiah,
is it his erector spinal group? Could be there's three
muscles right there, bub Come on, people need to know.
Speaker 5 (18:24):
I've darrowed my focus to the to the to the
the pectoralis major to the latissabus store side. That's just
who I am, man, You know, got it? I mean,
I'm looking out for him, you feel me?
Speaker 4 (18:38):
What about the infra in infra spanitas.
Speaker 5 (18:41):
Scary, scary, scary. Locate the the intra what is it,
infra span Yeah, locate the infra spernita.
Speaker 4 (18:50):
It's like right where your butterfly tattoo is. Leave my
tramp stamp alone. It's like right by your you know,
it's like high your oblique What about this, Uh, the
supra spinus.
Speaker 5 (19:04):
Super is a tough area. Yeah, so that so I
start rolling through data levator door sietimus.
Speaker 4 (19:14):
What about the triceps brought brought brock eye, you know,
and there's a latt of doe.
Speaker 5 (19:23):
You gotta stay away from that. Man. Tough, so tough
to turn on it with your core. You know what
I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (19:28):
Yeah, yeah, you can't.
Speaker 5 (19:30):
You can't.
Speaker 6 (19:30):
You know, you can't play baseball with a may.
Speaker 5 (19:32):
Need to spend a little more time on the abductor
adductor machine, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (19:35):
That worked those hip flexures, man, you sure do.
Speaker 4 (19:38):
Yeah, you can't swing a baseball baut with with a
sore rhomboid.
Speaker 5 (19:44):
People are like, what are these two medical nerds talking about? Yeah,
I'm with you.
Speaker 6 (19:52):
What is it?
Speaker 5 (19:52):
It starts from his ear low down to pinky right, pink,
that's all you need to know and he's day to day.
Speaker 6 (20:00):
Thank you appreciating the updates.
Speaker 10 (20:02):
You know.
Speaker 6 (20:02):
It's my dog.
Speaker 4 (20:06):
Oh my gosh, all right, uh singy old singing John Singleton,
John home running ten needed him, John Doubleton, I came
through yesterday, John pimp Battington.
Speaker 5 (20:21):
Yeah, that battle lead. When he hits one upper tank
that bats out before he's finished a swing. He's a
bad He bat flips halfway through the swing. Love it though.
Needed him yesterday, have to play good job.
Speaker 7 (20:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (20:33):
His his numbers over the last twenty games pretty impressive.
Let's discuss an next Spoorstock seven eighty.
Speaker 3 (20:43):
The Shawn Salisbury Show continued, Yeah, we got.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
Here a triple lee.
Speaker 14 (20:57):
This is Arizona, Arizona.
Speaker 5 (20:59):
You have big game tonight Arizona.
Speaker 6 (21:02):
Yes, sir, Who are they playing?
Speaker 14 (21:05):
Kansas State?
Speaker 5 (21:05):
That's right, we got a big game tonight.
Speaker 6 (21:08):
Fight song Friday.
Speaker 4 (21:09):
Here on the Sean Salisbury Show, Astros beat the A's.
They take on the Angels tonight eight thirty eight.
Speaker 5 (21:16):
First pitch, Hey aren't the Wildcats or Kansas State the Wildcats?
They are on the Arizona Wildcats. We have CATS's cats
or cats?
Speaker 4 (21:24):
Yeah, just keep those cats out of like Ohio and
the other places.
Speaker 5 (21:27):
You know what's funny as they're saying they don't do it,
but yet you'll go on the air and the people
on the air are saying, my dog, Yeah, I like that.
You've got the head of my dog. I'm looking at
my dog's head. They're eating these they're like I said,
there's the people in Ohio were saying, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (21:40):
I watched a body cam video of some police, like
I think it was in Ohio, of them arresting like
two people that were literally eating cats.
Speaker 5 (21:50):
I mean, the ladies said, they eat my dog. And
then people are laugh saying, oh yeah, they're they're not
doing that thing.
Speaker 15 (21:57):
What is it?
Speaker 5 (21:59):
A dog head sitting there and nobody and the lady says,
my dogs, I'm devastating my dog.
Speaker 4 (22:03):
Watching a guy a headless duck away from a pond, like,
what do we do?
Speaker 6 (22:08):
Straight to jail?
Speaker 5 (22:09):
I thought, you know, you know what I had to do? Yeah,
brand the National guardens start busting caps in their ass. Dude,
I'm dead ass serious. I'm dead ass serious. Oh that's
that what what what do we call? That's not humane? Oh?
But eating our dog gives Yeah, you walk roll up
and eat my dog. I'm empty and every single every
single ounce of weaponry I got the house. Yeah you're
(22:30):
getting your ass. Well I am telling you now, yeah,
I mean you don't just get the Waltz said, hey, man,
Kelo looks good. Yeah he'll end up eating your ass. Okay,
exact well walk that back eating your ass. Will be
in trouble with that hundred pounder. How's that? But I
just I don't get it? What's that all? They're laughing
at people? One they say, yeah, the person with their
(22:51):
dogs said, they're they're eating our one says, or they're
they're The city manager is gonna say, okay, oh yeah,
they're just showering down on a regular basis. You want
to come over and eat what it's? It's a little baffling,
it is. Yeah, it's just GrITT baffling what goes on.
But you know, what's that cat?
Speaker 4 (23:15):
I don't want I don't really want to go into
like who's chowing on cats and stuff right now? But
what's that cat that has no hair? What are those
called again?
Speaker 5 (23:22):
Sphinx? Is it a sphinx?
Speaker 4 (23:24):
The ones look like a like a like a scrotum,
well a little bit.
Speaker 5 (23:29):
They look like medical terms.
Speaker 6 (23:30):
They look like a boss.
Speaker 4 (23:32):
Yeah, you know the hairless cat. Yeah, it's the hairless
nasty thing. I love the look.
Speaker 6 (23:40):
I hate. I don't have cats either, dude.
Speaker 16 (23:43):
But.
Speaker 5 (23:45):
I just look at my how did this happen.
Speaker 16 (23:52):
Out?
Speaker 5 (23:53):
Were they on the arc?
Speaker 6 (23:56):
And if they were, what the hell were they doing there?
You know, like, damn it, noah.
Speaker 5 (24:01):
That's oh. All the other animals sit around.
Speaker 11 (24:03):
Like, who the hell is how they come up with
two of them?
Speaker 4 (24:07):
I'm saying, man, how did you come up with two
of these basterrooms?
Speaker 5 (24:11):
What the hell one was plenty?
Speaker 4 (24:16):
Imagine all these like animals on the arc, they're all
kicking it, ready to go next thing, you know, these
two hairless cats on the and everybody stops like, who
the are you?
Speaker 10 (24:27):
You know what?
Speaker 5 (24:27):
They have the movies And there's the one guy in
the movies in the Halloween like movies, got his eye
clothes and he's like, you know that look I'm talking
after the alien is what one eyes got? The big head? Like,
I feel like that's sphinxy dude. What the hairless cats?
Speaker 7 (24:43):
Right?
Speaker 4 (24:43):
They look like what's the no hell? I will never
have a cat ever. I've always had trouble with I
mean I have problem with cats.
Speaker 5 (24:51):
I don't. I don't have any, but I've always had
a problem. I mean, I don't think they know their name.
I think you call all of them kitty and but
I guess some people say that kitty ca again, don't
come call them their name. They look at you like
you're a dumb ass. Right, what's this son of a
bitch talking about it? I know my name, I don't
know my name, but hey, feed me. But the cat
thing is a lot of attitude, a lot of attitude.
Speaker 9 (25:15):
I just.
Speaker 5 (25:17):
I've always if you when you when you rip snort
in the house. Just yeah, I've always tried. It just
doesn't seem every other animal in the history unless you're
like a hamster, you know, and you're you're got a
hamster on a wheel. I mean most of them are.
Can't the cat go outside?
Speaker 6 (25:37):
I mean they can, yeah.
Speaker 5 (25:38):
But they'll cover their stuff up and clean. But I
don't know, Hey, what are you doing? A cat's crapping
in the in the laundry room. I don't know, man,
I mean, I have a problem with cats. I just
I don't stand in line for the cats, but I'm
I'll protect them, no doubt I love all animals, but
that sphinx man. That hairless cat, that's a freak show.
(26:01):
If anybody's got a hairless cat, call us. I want
to hear from you. I want to hear from me
right here. I I want to hear the hairless cat.
When you bought it? What was your thought process? Did
you ask the arc question? Good act? That's a good yeah, hypoallergenic,
good act, good ass point by you. You know. But
they they're like, I feel like they got a little
(26:23):
bit of what's the Brad Pitt movie? Where he does
it age or he does it he ages premature so
it doesn't age or ages prematurely? Which one was it?
Benjamin Button?
Speaker 6 (26:33):
Yeah, Benjamin Button. Legend of Benjamin Button?
Speaker 5 (26:35):
So is that I can't remember. Does he does he
age or prematurely? Or does he stay young always? Or
does he stay what?
Speaker 17 (26:41):
What?
Speaker 5 (26:41):
What was that the background of that movie? I can't remember?
And Button if he was like stayed young always or
was old old? I feel like he aged premature, reverse
starts out old and turns young later. Okay, that's so
when I look at Benny Button when he first brought
I feel like I'm looking at one of those sphinx cats, right,
many if you want to one of those hairless cats,
(27:06):
give us some insight and bring them into the studio.
Speaker 7 (27:08):
No, we will not.
Speaker 5 (27:12):
Yeah, the way they look, you don't all say, look
like they look like that dude? On uh on the
what's the movie? It's not Star Wars because that's Yoda.
What's the other one? Let's see you you don't know movies,
but the one who's got the the weird looking dude?
(27:35):
Go through the go, go through the movies the not
it's not.
Speaker 6 (27:40):
Are you talking about Lord of the Rings?
Speaker 5 (27:41):
Yeah? What's that guy's name? A little creature's name, little guy? Yeah,
what's his name? Lord of the Rings? Thank you God?
What is that little guy's name? That's who those those
hairless cats look like.
Speaker 4 (27:55):
Oh yeah yeah, the this this guy, this this ugly thing. Yeah. Gollum, yeah,
gollum g O. L U have right, yeah, the o everywhere.
Speaker 5 (28:07):
Matter of fact, every one of those hairless cat's name
should be gollum. Not meant to eat.
Speaker 4 (28:12):
By the way, I bet we won't get one call
from somebody that actually owns it. I bet we don't
have any listeners that owned one of those more cat
listeners or dog listeners for sure. Okay, Yeah, I was
just curious of how the how the hairless cat came
about because we're talking about, well, what's going on in
the streets, and that's no joke though, Yeah, I mean
(28:33):
I don't know what's going on, but man, they sure
are some complete ends of the spectrum.
Speaker 5 (28:38):
It's not happened. And some ladies complain that they hate
their dog completely, just chout on their dog. Awful, man,
it really is awful. When's somebody gonna do something about it?
Put a stop to it? Have you ever noticed they
never rolled into communities that are willing to rolling into
this town. You ain't coming into this stay. Yeah, I
(29:00):
think this is probably a state that they'd probably like
to get to last. Yeah, at least it'll give them
about four give them forty nine other states and used
to live a little longer.
Speaker 4 (29:08):
Yeah, I feel like I think it was probably about
a month ago they did like this massive protest blocking
people from getting into O'Hare in Chicago or La X
And it was like massive delays, and I'm just thinking, like,
could you imagine them trying to do that here in
Houston at I h at Bush people already pissed off
(29:28):
enough trying to get to the airport. Plus the airport
was the last time you flew out of You drive everywhere,
so you wouldn't you wouldn't know, tripley.
Speaker 6 (29:34):
Did you fly to Chicago?
Speaker 5 (29:36):
We did?
Speaker 4 (29:36):
Did you fly out of Hobby or did you fly
out of Bush?
Speaker 5 (29:39):
It's a nightmare traffic light by that time you guys
are gone through TSA. I'm twelve hours into my drive.
Speaker 4 (29:47):
All that I fly, but I'd rather I'd like to
drive all that construction, no rush, and then getting out
of there is even worse.
Speaker 6 (29:55):
Yeah, it goes down one lane. Lines are out the ass.
Speaker 5 (29:57):
Last time the constructions ruh, they know what airline? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (30:01):
Could you imagine them trying to protest there? Dude, Come on,
you know they talk about their walton into suburbs. Just
just just waltz into one.
Speaker 5 (30:09):
Of the suburbs here, Yeah, and and try to take
somebody's dog out of their house or knock on the
door saying we're overtaking your house.
Speaker 6 (30:15):
Yeah, just go up to Montgomery County and that good luck.
Speaker 5 (30:21):
Quickly as they got here. Quickly as they'd leave, you
be on a stretcher. You ever you ever been to
what's the area Splendora. Yeah, they're going on that way Conro.
Of course, as a matter of fact, the Texas isn't
on their map. Okay, whatever, whatever it is, it ain't
on their map. And it's a wise movie you're talking about.
Speaker 15 (30:43):
Yeah, Adrian just called in and said that his name
is I guess he's a gollum whatever Oka, but his.
Speaker 4 (30:51):
Name was that's right, Yeah, he's a collumn. He's a
monster with a distinctive style of speech.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
J R. R.
Speaker 6 (30:58):
Tolkiens.
Speaker 5 (30:59):
Yeah, Jay, there you go. It's an eagle. What he
was hot?
Speaker 7 (31:03):
Though?
Speaker 18 (31:03):
Man?
Speaker 4 (31:04):
What sucks hot? Smoke show? Smoke show? Oh no, absolutely not.
All right, let's let's get back to the Houston Astros.
John Singleton over his last thirty games swinging the bat well.

John Salisbury Show continues to continue.
Speaker 6 (33:25):
Welcome back to the Shown Salisbury Show.
Speaker 4 (33:26):
You're on Sports Talk seven any Shn Salisbury, Brian Limamanuel Elmore.
Speaker 6 (33:30):
Astros beat the A's.
Speaker 4 (33:33):
They are in Los Angeles tonight taking on the Angels
eight thirty eight is the first pitch seven thirty on
Deck show right here on seven on your home for Astros, Baseball,
Texans and Bears. Sunday Night football. Buffalo Bills dominated the
Miami Dolphins last night in Thursday Night Football.
Speaker 6 (33:54):
Let's hear from the skipper.
Speaker 4 (33:59):
Of the shows, John Singleton had himself a night or
a day, I should say, three for four with an
RBI two runs. He led the team in him and
hits him in the jiner. Both had three hits a piece.
This is what Joe Spota had to say about John Singleton.
Speaker 1 (34:18):
Big hits.
Speaker 19 (34:18):
You know, he gives you a quality of bat, finds
the barrel, you know, ability to walk. So you know,
I've thrown a few a few guys out there and
ayby one finds a way too, you know, contribute and
John has done a really, really good job.
Speaker 4 (34:37):
And that's Joe spot of talking about John Singleton. Shown
over the last thirty games for John Singleton, he's hit
He's hitting two sixty five bombs, twelve RBIs with a
nine to forty oh ps. In his last seven games,
he's hitting three sixty eight with a bomb, three RBIs.
Speaker 6 (34:51):
And a over eleven hundred ops.
Speaker 5 (34:53):
Dana Brown said he wanted a nine hundred ops first baseman.
He got one right now at least in uh in
this run, right, and it's good. It's it's been fun
to watch.
Speaker 6 (35:03):
Yeah, he's been he's been good.
Speaker 5 (35:05):
As of he's a guy right now, he's a guy
you got to play at first Place.
Speaker 4 (35:08):
Yeah, I agree, it's a welcome site for sure, because
you know they were they were experimenting with the Zenzo
over there. Obviously, Victor Carretti got some run, Yaner got
some run, and John Singleton just kind of quietly been
being pretty consistent so far over the last or not
so far, but over the last like I said, thirty games,
(35:29):
it's been nice man.
Speaker 6 (35:31):
Good for good for singing John Singleton.
Speaker 5 (35:36):
Good guy's been resilient, has they Yeah, sure, as they've
tried to replace him. Yeah, and he's been resenting. Good
for him.
Speaker 6 (35:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (35:41):
But then as you look through this lineup, Yinter last
night three for four, Kyle Tucker had two hits.
Speaker 5 (35:46):
Good thing.
Speaker 1 (35:47):
Good.
Speaker 4 (35:47):
Good to see Kyle Tucker kind of getting back into
the flow of things.
Speaker 6 (35:50):
Obviously he has not played outfield.
Speaker 4 (35:52):
He's probably gonna play outfield this weekend in Los Angeles
against the Angels.
Speaker 6 (35:58):
We'll see how that goes.
Speaker 4 (36:00):
And then, like I said earlier, Jason Hayward last night
one for three with two RBIs, hit himself a home
run and had himself a walk, adding some depth.
Speaker 6 (36:11):
Got to start and right field.
Speaker 4 (36:13):
Du Bond was two for four two RBI, playing at
second base because of Altuve and Bregman, Alvarez and Jeremy
Painna all Oh for over thirteen. But the Astros going
into the eighth inning the game was tied two to two.
They put up a four spot and get to six
(36:34):
runs then you know, scattered a couple of runs between
giving up two runs.
Speaker 5 (36:38):
Was yeah, yeah, they put them away And it was
like I said, it may not be the way you
want it and leaving runners in scoring position, on top
of the order, not producing much, but when you can
win those kind of games, it's a that's a good thing.
Speaker 13 (36:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (36:54):
They don't need to play. They don't need to eagle
every hole between now and the end of the season.
They just need to be smart and not beat themselves.
They don't beat themselves. They win the division and now
it's a whole new and now we get to reset
and after this season if they win the division, I
don't see how anybody I know, the expectations here are
higher about the overall product that to this year was
(37:16):
kind of it has been up and down, inconsistent sometimes
and brutally inconsistent at others, and then phenomenally consistent at
other times in stints and you know, in short stints
or what was we had heard yesterday eighteen game instants. Right, Yeah,
Tom told us so. I The whole thing is you
(37:38):
got to the finish line. Well, the part of the
finish line. You got the rehearsal done, and that's winning
the division. Now it's you get into the postseason. They'll
have to be more consistent, they'll have to stay healthy,
and they'll have to have their entire al tu Vane
Bregman is close to full strength as you can get them,
and hope that Verlander picks it up. If not, then
he won't be a starting pitcher in the postseason. You'll
go do your thing. But sometimes you know, there's a
(38:01):
lot of different ways to get to the finish line.
It hasn't been a pretty route this year, but I
quite frankly, it'll be as satisfying as any season when
all said and done, if they get to their if
they get where they want to go.
Speaker 4 (38:13):
Yeah, with all the adversity, they have no question being
ten back in the division. Now they're up four and
a half games. There's seventy eight and sixty eight. I
think the if and when they win this division. The
craziest thing is with the playoff format, we're gonna have
to see them go through a wild Card and then
get to the division series, so I'll be even more
(38:34):
of a test with your rotation, guys that are banged up.
You're gonna have to go through that wildcard, that three
game series first and then go into a division round,
which I don't think we've seen in When was the
last time they played in a wildcard against the Yankees
back in twenty fifteen or whatever it was.
Speaker 5 (38:52):
Is that how long it's been? Well, we're going this
will be eight years if you hit the ALCS. Yeah,
I don't know how many. So as all of all
seven of these been division winning or got to the
ALCS without winning a division? Have they won the division
all seven straight year? They don't think so? Have they?
Speaker 6 (39:06):
Well we'll see playoffs.
Speaker 5 (39:09):
Has every single one of these ALCS runs been all
seven of them been division winning runs? As well?
Speaker 6 (39:17):
I'm pulling it up.
Speaker 5 (39:19):
Has it any time somebody else beat them in the division?
But they've got in a wild card and man, now
it's been all divisions? They won the division seven straight
years along with the ALCS seven straight year, So it's
a hell of a run. And this year if they
win the division to get the ALCS, it may not
have looked the same, but you know what, you change
shirts and from spring to summer, right, and some summer
to fall and fall to winter, or the way you
(39:41):
wear your clothing. They've worn it a little different this year,
but the result hopefully will be the same.
Speaker 4 (39:46):
Yeah, because twenty fifteen Dallas Kygle pitched against the Yankees
and then they lost the that was in the wild
Card and they lost lost to the Royals in the
Division Series, and then in twenty sixteen they missed it.
Twenty seven seventeen, they won the World Series obviously with
one hundred and one wins, and then that that run started.
Speaker 5 (40:07):
Well, then here you and like I said, do you
really care when all is said and done, if they
let's say they're playing in the ALCS and win it,
will you really care how they got there? No, but
the story'll be even bigger because they got there a
year with all these injuries that they had no business
getting there with injuries. Correct, Yeah, and slow starts in
ten games out, So that can be very satisfying at times,
more satisfying than just going out and dominating from start
(40:28):
to finish. Now there's the ego macho thing of dominating
to start to finish but there's a lot of growth
and character built on when you have to rely on
somebody when things aren't going their best. Watch how many
people scramble from your life when you go through difficult times. Well,
we'll go test that theory in your own life. Yeah.
So when I'm not saying here, great loyal fans to them,
but you know, everybody's got an opinion, and we get
(40:50):
frustrated because you know, we're not out there playing and
we want them to win. But the truth of the
matter is is this would be a very sat, very
sadid fine season because after their start, nobody thought they'd
be here other than them at ten games out, we
could have talked to a bunch of them, a very
few would have said, oh, they're winning the division.
Speaker 7 (41:08):
Now.
Speaker 5 (41:09):
We had some that believe they were gonna get on
a run, but I don't think many of us thought
they're gonna come back from this and play this that
they just didn't feel like they had the capabilities with
all the injuries of doing it. But they've had different
guys in different positions step up and here we are.
Speaker 4 (41:21):
Yeah, it's been really, really impressive. As we get closer
and closer to the playoffs. They are sixteen games away
from the end of the season. Their magic number is
thirteen and they take on the Angels tonight. All right,
let's switch and talk a little football. Texans big match
up this Sunday night against the Bears. We'll discuss an
(41:43):

Speaker 1 (42:49):
Okay, let's do this. Sean Salisbury, there to usc trouees.
Speaker 2 (42:55):
Longtime friend shown Salisbury.
Speaker 3 (42:56):
Ryan Lima, go Lobos. This is the Sean sALS Very show.
Speaker 8 (43:04):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (43:04):
Just so I finally, UH was able to just confirm
everything with the division. They've won the division every year
twenty seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty twenty one, twenty twenty three,
and then obviously.
Speaker 6 (43:18):
Leaving the division right now.
Speaker 4 (43:20):
The only time they did not win the division over
this run was the twenty twenty COVID season, but we
don't even really count that anyways, because there was only
sixty games. They finished second and they lost in the
ALCS to the Rays in seven games. Outside of that,
they've won the division every year since twenty seventeen, which
is pretty damn good. Two five seven ninety is the
(43:40):
number to join.
Speaker 22 (43:42):
Carl good morning, Hey guys, I just gotta say something
to the ups and downs of the season or whatever.
We have a dynasty.
Speaker 5 (43:52):
I'm gonna tell you, look how.
Speaker 22 (43:54):
Many great players have evolved from all these ups and downs.
We have got so much talent now, so many great players.
It's all gonna come together. The only thing Verlander needs
to go and do his experiment in the minor leagues,
maybe until he gets it right. But anyway, back to
(44:15):
the Astros, it's almost like the New York Yankees were
when I was a kid, when you had your favorite
stars Mickey Man on Yogi Bear Man. We love this
team here in Houston. They're fabulous and thank god, I
told you guys early in the year John Singleton.
Speaker 5 (44:32):
Was a player.
Speaker 22 (44:33):
I told you all that early in the year, and
he worked out for him.
Speaker 7 (44:37):
I got a first basement.
Speaker 18 (44:39):
But anyway, guys, I love the Astros.
Speaker 13 (44:41):
I love your show.
Speaker 23 (44:42):
Hey, let's kick some booty.
Speaker 13 (44:45):
Have a good day, y'all.
Speaker 6 (44:46):
You too, call appreciate it.
Speaker 5 (44:47):
Carl's ready man, Yeah right, And he did. Tell us
you've been a Singleton guy the whole year all as
you call him singing.
Speaker 6 (44:55):
Yeah, just singing, that's it.
Speaker 5 (44:56):
Yeah, yeah, been pretty impressive the way he's come listen.
And that's the one I think that's been the hallmark
of this franchise in this run is while they've been
loaded with stars, think about last year, how many of
the other guys contributed. JP France. You found out who
(45:20):
he was Mauricio Dubon took it to a whole new level.
I mean, you the stars obviously two years ago, Jeremy
Pania replaced Kreja as the postseason MVP in two different series,
ALCS and World Series. I mean you can go through
Yer Diaz steps in from Maldonado, haven't missed a beat.
Well at the plate, they've gained about two hundred and
ten points or whatever at the plate, but also he
(45:42):
getting better behind the dish as well. They go out
and get a guy like Victor Carrottini, great contributor. I mean,
it's it's been amazing and you look at this year
Singleton and last year coming in and you're like, Okay,
what's it going to be like and keep trying to
replace him, and he keeps stepping up and get some
timely hitting, so that this run and the people involved
(46:03):
is not just the Stars. And I think that's the
sign of a good team and that their depth is
a tribute to scouting and that they get people here
who buy in and well taught and coached and managed.
But there's just a different mentality when you're when you're
an astro. I know that sounds great right now, there's
a different mentality when you're in Kansas City Chief. They
expect to win. And while the expectations haven't oooh, they're
(46:26):
not one hundred win team this year. Does it really
matter in the big scheme of things, because right now,
I don't know in a seven game series who the
best team in the American League is. Do you Records
will tell me.
Speaker 4 (46:35):
I mean, records will tell you that it's either the
Orioles or the Yankees.
Speaker 6 (46:39):
The Guardians.
Speaker 5 (46:39):
Well, ask the Oriols how the two series against the
Astros feel. So my point is and that the Oriols
are capable of sweeping anybody but sort the Astro. So
point is is that once you're in tournament changes, will
it really matter what happened? And no other than the
good side of it saying look what we did. The
resilience of this team is unmatched in Major League Baseball
(46:59):
over the It just is. I'm not saying they're going
to win it all this year and that there's there's
another resilient teams. But as an overall the whole, We've
had three different managers here in the in this eight
year run. Three yeah, three different gms. Uh, where you
would consider multiple All Stars, postseason MVPs, former first picks,
(47:22):
Cy Young winners are all somewhere else that we're here.
They're still in first place. It's not normal. No, it's not.
It's not normal. So our expectations and we're talking a
lot of us are and fans and rightfully so. But
is it rightfully so that this isn't There's not thirty
seven banners or twenty five banners hanging from the rafters here.
(47:44):
There's a lot, it's a good amount of them. But
my point is is that you the expectations in an
eight year run, we actually sometimes think we are the
Yankees organization. Now you're better than them over this last
eight years. But overall, you know what I mean, it's
like we got to the point that this is historic,
that they've been doing this since nineteen twenty, this run
which spoils us so much so when they don't get
(48:05):
a hundred wins, or don't have three MVP candidates, or
they're not you know what I'm saying, a cy Young winer,
what are we all thinking? Yeah, they are very good. Yeah,
yet they're not very good. To the tune of a
four and a half game lead with sixteen to go. Yeah,
so what do you want? You want a pretty loss,
you want some ugly wins. And I'll take the ugly
ones all day long, because when it's said and done
(48:26):
that that ring doesn't say one thing about it. Well,
you know it was kind of ugly, but the confidence
of we look, look, you cannot help as a fan.
I don't care how disappointed are in the certain individuals
the sum of this thing. If they go on and
we're able to win the whole thing, there is no
way you can't look back and say this season, while
up and down and gut wrenching at times, isn't the
(48:46):
most satisfying of the because they've not been in this
position with it. Nobody should be able to overcome the
pitching staff injuries they have, so as frustrated as we
may get, and it's like what are they doing today?
And base running and what's wrong with pain? Is fielding?
If they were to bring it together, there's a part
of me that trusts that they will bring it together
in the postseason because they have. But I don't see
(49:08):
how we can't come out of this if they win
this division. Say, this is freaking unbelievable. When you really
go day by day, in person by person, and a
rookie manager to boot it's not normal.
Speaker 4 (49:19):
Yeah, I mean you go look at like how many
transactions they've made this season, how many different lineups Jospota
has had to use, like just that alone.
Speaker 6 (49:28):
How many times? How many? How many times have we.
Speaker 4 (49:30):
Heard of a waiver claim or a guy being sent down,
guy being brought up, guys going on the iol other day?
Speaker 6 (49:39):
It literally is every other day.
Speaker 5 (49:40):
And the right fielder, you're five tool player, missed like
seventy five games.
Speaker 4 (49:45):
Yeah, yeah, and they were still able to get it done.
Speaker 5 (49:49):
Now do Soto or or just just one or two
of either one of them? Yeah, take them out of
the Yankees lineup and tell me that the Yankees the year.
Do you fear the Yankees? No? Okay, take Tucker out
of the lineup, and this team had their best record
of the of the one of the one hundred and
fifty games stints so far, one hundred and forty six games. Yeah,
(50:12):
they're not better with Tucker, I mean without Tucker, but
good teams do. You're starting quarterback gets hurt, your back up, better,
step in the right guard better. I got to elevate
a little more. My guy's not a scrambler like the
other one. I got to be better this team. It
just is like, oh, we don't have Tucker and that's okay.
We'll put four or five different cats out and right
foot we'll be fine. Ben Gamble guys like Ben Gamble,
and you discovered Ben Gamble. Ben Gamble's becoming every day
(50:35):
play I mean, just just grinding his ass off, right.
So I'm just fascinated with this season, and quite frankly,
I kind of like the chaos of it. I do.
I'd be if they were fifteen games in front right now,
I'd feel like we get a little oh, okay, we'll
see you guys in the past.
Speaker 4 (50:49):
Honestly, if if they were fifteen games in front, we
would give a couple of astros updates and then we'd
start talking football for like the next four straight hours.
Speaker 5 (50:55):
Yeah, because it would be like, oh, the rest of
this is just alls they're doing is getting themselves tuned
up to stay healthy and be ready for the postseason.
That part, so I kind of and I liked the
fact that they have to stay on guard the whole time. Yeah,
you let you let your guard down for three games
and before you know what, the Mariners are game and
a half out, so we don't have to tell the
Astros to stay stay urgent. Yeah, because I think they
(51:18):
understand the urgency of the situation. And they have, or
they wouldn't be four and a half in front after
ten games down.
Speaker 6 (51:23):
Right, excuse me?
Speaker 4 (51:24):
So the magic number since the Mariners lost last night,
the magic number is twelve. So we're getting getting closer
and closer. Sixteen games left, you know, as they get
ready to take on the interest tonight.
Speaker 5 (51:34):
You want to play, go Astros or I don't think
we should. Why not? I don't know, because the song sucks.
Speaker 6 (51:39):
Vos vomos Astros?
Speaker 5 (51:41):
Is that good enough for you? The Astros? The Astro
song sucks whatever, it's not even the Astro song. Whoever
song it is.
Speaker 4 (51:47):
Well, yeah, I mean it does suck. It blows, I agree,
So oh now never mind, I'll save it. I got
some Texans news that it's gonna blow your mind.
Speaker 5 (51:55):
It's gonna be another song.
Speaker 4 (51:56):
No, no, no, no, what do you mean? Another song?
Speaker 5 (52:00):
Nasty?
Speaker 4 (52:00):
A song that nasty like nasty, that's my dog like
like let's go on nasty good like, Oh that dude's nasty.
Speaker 5 (52:07):
No or filthy because you got stuff on the enough
that it sucks. Yeah, that song blows.
Speaker 6 (52:12):
Well.
Speaker 5 (52:12):
You know what today is? Friday thirteenth?
Speaker 6 (52:15):
Yeah? Yeah, damn it really is.
Speaker 14 (52:17):
That's crazy.
Speaker 6 (52:18):
No, I'm not. I don't know.
Speaker 5 (52:19):
You ever heard of a guy with the named Jason Vorhees?
Say that again?
Speaker 17 (52:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (52:24):
I know who Jason Vorhees? Who is He's Jason out
of the movies? Well movie Friday the thirteenth?
Speaker 5 (52:29):
Nice? Nice? Okay, man?
Speaker 6 (52:30):
Do you see you just call him Varhe's no, I
just call him Jason.
Speaker 5 (52:33):
Okay? What about I called him for he a little
what's up called dog? Huh? What about Mike Myers? You
ever heard of him?
Speaker 6 (52:40):
Michael Myers?
Speaker 5 (52:41):
Yeah? Yeah, you've heard of it? What movie?
Speaker 6 (52:44):
I don't know?
Speaker 5 (52:46):
Halloween?
Speaker 6 (52:47):
Halloween?
Speaker 5 (52:47):
You ever heard of? Uh? You ever heard of Edward
Scissors Hands? Yes? I played as Edward Scissors Hands. You
ever heard of what's that guy's name in the movies?
Speaker 6 (52:57):
Uh? Freddy Kruger?
Speaker 5 (52:58):
Fred Krueger?
Speaker 6 (52:59):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (53:00):
Can you ever heard of Fred Krueger? If you were
get in to fight, uh huh? And he had to
take him on one at a time? Yeah, who you
fight first? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (53:09):
Who are you afraid of? Who am I afraid of?
Probably Freddy krueger Man. Those nails are kind of wild
because he can scragged because it's almost like he has
a bunch of knives. Quite frank, I think Jason's kind
of a punk bitch really, like he's like way overrated.
What the what? What what are you doing? Bro cool
mask guy? So you'll call him Broodes? Yeah, your mask
scared me. Yeah, Okay, you're saying for he's overrated, he
(53:31):
is overrated. Okay, Myers can't kill Myers, No, you can't.
You can't kill him. I fear that weird little clown
in that movie it with the Red balloon more than
I fear Jason vo penny Wise, Yeah, Pennywise.
Speaker 6 (53:42):
That that.
Speaker 5 (53:43):
So you're basically you're saying the king of the you're saying,
it's the one thing you got to gear up for
is Michael Myersreddy Krueger. Mike looks like he's got some big,
big shoulder base, like he could bring Jason vs.
Speaker 1 (53:55):
Kruger's.
Speaker 5 (53:55):
But Krueger's unfair. It's it's like he's got he's he's weaponized,
you know, he's he's got weapons. Yeah, So Fred Yeah,
Fred Krueger, Jason vy Friday in thirteenth You got any scar?
Is Halloween scary?
Speaker 13 (54:06):
Ever?
Speaker 5 (54:06):
You're afraid of clowns or anything? Got anything? You ever
get scared on Halloween? No, you don't do. You had
out candy? You hate them kids.
Speaker 6 (54:15):
It's the best thing about living in an apartment comp Like.
Speaker 5 (54:18):
What's the last time you handed a piece of candy
to a person knocked on the door.
Speaker 4 (54:21):
When I had my home, the light stayed off and
they did not come to my door.
Speaker 5 (54:25):
Dude, your humbug attitude for a guy who's so such
a fun, loving, positive guy. Man, you hate them kids,
and you hate the Halloween.
Speaker 6 (54:34):
I don't hate Halloween. You don't hand out candy.
Speaker 4 (54:36):
Yeah, especially when it's in the middle of the week.
I got work tomorrow and I'm getting up at four.
Come on, man, yeah the key You're You're the one
that they all like the moves of the kids walk
away and say yeah.
Speaker 5 (54:51):
The old guy Curmudget exactly. So I'm that guy who
stands out there parties with it. Ben Yeah, anywhere I
triggered love it. Yeah, I can't wait for that video.
Oh Myers not Vorhees, Oh Jase Man, Michael Myers, my
bad dog. What about leather Face? Would you be afraid
of him?
Speaker 9 (55:05):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (55:05):
Probably, Yeah, I think he would.
Speaker 6 (55:06):
It's just kind of creepy.
Speaker 5 (55:07):
I feel you. Let's get to the stake out next. Yeah, well,
let's get to Country Boys Roofing. I got a great
idea for you for Halloween. Put an extra shingle out

Speaker 1 (56:37):
We're gonna have to turn this matter over to Sean.
Speaker 3 (56:39):
Oh no more Sean Salisbury on Sports Talk seven ninety
All right, Sean, what are you hearing out there now?
The Salsbury stakeouts. Salsbury's stakeout on The.
Speaker 1 (56:57):
Sean Salisbury Show.
Speaker 6 (57:00):
It's time for the stakeout.
Speaker 4 (57:01):
Here on the Sean Salisbury Show, Sean Brown and Tripoli
Astros open up a series tonight against the Angels A
thirty eighth the first pitch seven thirty on Desk Show
right here on seven nine year home for Astros. Baseball
Texans and Bears. Sunday Night footballt NRG Stadium. Bills beat
the Dolphins in Thursday Night Football. I shown for the stakeout.
(57:23):
My goodness, what is going on? In minor league baseball?
The Twins had to cut their minor league catcher, Derek
Bender for tipping pitches they released. They released the minor
league catcher on Thursday after he told opposing hitters the
type of pitches that were coming to the plate during
at bats in the game last week that eliminated his
(57:46):
team from playoff contention. Bender is a six round draft
pick out of Coastal Carolina. In July, he was playing
for the Fort Myers Mighty Muscles that's the twins single
A affiliate. In the second game of a September doubleheader,
Bender told multiple hitters for the Lakeland Flying Tigers the
Detroit farm team the specific pitches being thrown by his
(58:09):
starting pitcher, Ross Dunn. In this article, he also.
Speaker 6 (58:17):
After he was.
Speaker 4 (58:20):
So the Fort Myer coaches were notified by the Lakeland
coaches about benders pitch tipping following the game. Bender's willingness
to tip pitches surprise Lakeland players, and there are no
indications of wrongdoing from the Flying Tigers. Bender had told
his teammates he wanted the season to be over.
Speaker 5 (58:41):
What guy's a freaking turd and a prick. Wow, I see.
To me, that's as bad as gambling. Yeah, that's such
a letdown to your Okay, what's worse gambling on your
team or giving somebody else a chance and cheating your team?
Cheating your team? I agreed, this is see that guy? Oh,
what are you gonna slap him on the hand he
(59:01):
made a mistake. No, the guy's a turd. He needs
an ass whipping from his own teammates. I'm telling that's what. Well,
you're not allowed to bullyeve a guy. That's a guy
you take out to the woodshed and say, you know what,
that's not how we do it here. We're all trying
to win. Guy, obviously doesn't love baseball. The guy. I
don't know what's going on in his personal life. That's
Kate take a leave. Yeah, I don't know if it's
a personal thing. If he's having trouble at home, wants
(59:22):
the season over, or he's just tired of catching and
wants to get the season over because he's like a
twelve year old that can't stay focused on anything and
got to go do something else. I don't want him
on my team. I wouldn't. I don't care how talent
it is. He wouldn't. I wouldn't bring him in that.
That's not a mistake, you know what that's called. That's
a decision, the conscious choice and decision. You don't roll
through a stop sign. You don't roll through unless your
(59:45):
car dies if you stop. You don't roll through a
stop sign and call it an accident, you know, you
call it a decision. You decided to write. So this
is a decision. I'd cut his ass. He would not,
he would. I wouldn't want him back in the organization.
And if I was another team, he's a sixth round pick.
Maybe he turns into a star, but the truth is
right now, he's a guy. Yeah, trying to work his
(01:00:07):
way up with that kind of attitude, tells me he
doesn't love baseball, tells me he doesn't love his teammates,
tells me he's a horrible teammate, and tells me he's
a bitch. And yeah, I said it out loud. So
if it's tag his ass in it, okay, soft and weak, Okay,
I don't know. I'd never even heard of the guy
until this. So if he wanted to get on the
map for that, he got it. But what a what
(01:00:29):
a bitch ass teammate? You work your entire life to
make your high school team, to get into college. You
go to Coastal Carolina, really good baseball program, work your
whole life to get drafted. You get drafted in the
sixth round, top ten rounds in baseball. That's pretty prestigious.
A hell of a player, I mean, Atlasia, you got
a hell a hell of an opportunity and you throw
(01:00:50):
it all away just because you wanted the season to end. Listen,
I say, if somebody comes back and says, well, he's
having trouble you know in his personal life, great, tell
the manager, tell your team, don't you don't leave your
team hanging like this. You don't you know this isn't
This isn't the movie with Kevin Costner and you know, uh, Rookie, No,
(01:01:11):
when when he's the catcher, yeah, bull Dirham where you
tell the guy just to prove a point to your pitcher.
So you because you know he's going to be a
great when you're trying to teach him a lesson of
what pitch to throw, a quit shaking me off. Okay,
but this is real life stuff. You just don't do
that to teammates. It's the equivalent of thorn your family
under the bus, because you know what they are, your
family during this when you when you're on a roster, Yeah,
(01:01:35):
I got I can't. I'd love to sit there and
be a kinder gentler. The guy's a turd. Don't know
anything about him. Sure, I never watched him play at
Coastal Carolina. Don't care because no matter how good a
player is, this this this trump's all of that. This
is this is this is how you find out about
his character, not because he can swing a batter or
you know, block the plate or block a ball that's
in the dirt. This is weak and if you're a teammate. Uh,
(01:01:59):
you know, you forget everybody of stuff, and I want
you don't forget this. You can't have him back there
he walks in the locker room. Oh there's the guy.
There's the guy that follow you around your whole career. Week.
If it's true, apparently it is. Yeah, if it's if
this is full on true, you can't the guy. You
know what, You take two weeks off, quit and go
find a new profession.
Speaker 6 (01:02:20):
Oh it's well, he got cut.
Speaker 5 (01:02:22):
Oh I knew that. Yeah, take two weeks off, and
and if you're an organization that picks him up right away,
you're trash too.
Speaker 4 (01:02:29):
I mean, just think about like the implications of the
guys that were pitching to him in that game, Like
those guys are trying to bust their ass to get
up to the next level too, and you're just throwing
them under the bus by telling opposing pictures what's coming,
just so they can rake off of your pictures.
Speaker 5 (01:02:42):
It'll follow him as Oh, you're the guy who was
throwing your team no matter what. I don't care if
he goes to business. Oh you played baseball, what organization?
Well why'd you quit playing? Well? I just got no
Oh you're the guy. Yeah, that's you. You're that guy. Yeah,
I'd rather have you hit seventy one and get cut
right and get cut because you're a turd. What a joe,
(01:03:04):
what a jackass? Yeah, I see, since said that to
me in excuse, Well I would. I don't astros. If
the astros grabbed him, they're not. If they did, I'd
obliterate them. Yeah, locals carrying their stuff or not. That'd
be my opinion. It wouldn't be personal tobliterate him for
(01:03:25):
picking up a guy like that that was a horrible teammate,
which this organization is based itself on great teammates. Yeah,
no matter who picks him up, somebody this and and
think about how all he's fought for or done in
his career, like you mentioned, but think about what a
few short moments and pitches and at bats can do.
To think what it's done this. Now, would you ever
(01:03:48):
respect him? No, I kept the guy can hit it
five hundred feet when you come in there and say, oh,
you're just trashed. Yeah, as a teammate, I don't know
about his regular life. Maybe the greatest guy in the world,
but this tells me he's got a major character.
Speaker 4 (01:03:59):
Flaw and not to mention that they were right there
trying to make the playoffs, which.
Speaker 5 (01:04:05):
Moach makes it even worse because he threw him under
the bus when guys were at their most intense time. Yeah, yeah,
you save it. We'll get no need. What a bitch, Yeah,
complete bitch. Yeah, what a bitch.
Speaker 6 (01:04:14):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (01:04:15):

Speaker 4 (01:06:41):
Ring back The Shaun Salisbury Show, Shaan Salisbury, Brown, Alma
Emmanuel Elmore, Astros Bata's they open up a serious tonight
in l A against the Angels.
Speaker 6 (01:06:51):
Eight thirty eighth, The first pitch.
Speaker 4 (01:06:54):
Seven thirty on deck show right here on seven on
your home for Astros Baseball. Who is this? This is
Purdue Purdue. The boiler Makers will fight song Friday.
Speaker 14 (01:07:06):
It's called Hail Purdue.
Speaker 5 (01:07:10):
Fun place to watch a game. Been there, done that,
liked it well? Watching broadcast a game. I guess so
what I'm saying the boiler Makers.
Speaker 4 (01:07:20):
Yeah, I heard black and golden there, so I thought
it was these of them are Vanderbilt.
Speaker 5 (01:07:27):
I would have a hard time outside like the top
ten fight songs or so, I would have had a
hard time, Nate, Like I would have known this was Purdue?
Would you? No awesome though? No awesome though?
Speaker 4 (01:07:40):
College football last night Arizona State Texas State. Really good
game Arizona State edging Texas State thirty one to twenty eight.
Another game last night. You remember Major Applewhite? I sure do,
head coach of South Alabama got his first first coaching
win at the Division one level as a head coach.
(01:08:03):
They beat Northwestern State Sewan eighty seven to ten.
Speaker 5 (01:08:09):
The question is how they beat them? Did they keep
throwing when they were up by sixty?
Speaker 6 (01:08:15):
Their quarterback only had two hundred and fifty seven yards throwing.
Speaker 5 (01:08:17):
How many attempts?
Speaker 6 (01:08:19):
Let's see what's going to the next.
Speaker 5 (01:08:20):
Pew put it. How many people are in the box
score As far as like carries, I mean a bunch
of a bunch of.
Speaker 4 (01:08:26):
I only threw at nineteen times. They rushed thirty two
times for three hundred and sixty five yards.
Speaker 5 (01:08:31):
So they scored eighty some points and they only had
sixty less than sixty places from the lion.
Speaker 6 (01:08:37):
Scrimmage nineteen passing attempts thirty two.
Speaker 5 (01:08:41):
Thirty nineteen is forty two, so fifty one place. Yeah,
that's below NFL outage. Normally in college football, you're getting
seventy five I think between seventy and eighty plays, and
in the NFL maybe mid sixties seventies would be high.
Getting a lot of possessions. That's fifty one place, and
you hung almost ninety points. Well would they score? And
(01:09:03):
every time the guy touched the ball?
Speaker 6 (01:09:04):
Pretty much?
Speaker 4 (01:09:05):
Jioe Lopez a quarterback fifteen to nineteen, two hundred and fifty
seven yards for four touchdowns. And they had one, two, three,
four different ball carriers score a touchdown. They scored sticks
on the ground. And let's see, defensively, they had one
(01:09:27):
defensive touchdown.
Speaker 5 (01:09:28):
Who they beat?
Speaker 6 (01:09:30):
They beat Northwestern State?
Speaker 5 (01:09:32):
All right, So here here's how I feel. I know
when you first see the score. That's why I'm not
jumping to get on major Apple White and say, man,
how dare you? What are you supposed to do? Let
me ask you honestly. Now, it's not the where you're
killing a kid's self esteem. Who's a fourth grader, right,
even though they need to learn how to compete and
make attack. But if you run into a team that
wins the seventh or eighth grade league every year and
(01:09:53):
they got a bunch of guys, started a new team,
and you're just a beating him down. Right. It feels
like you're playing somebody five years older than you. You
don't want to self now, you just be a self
esteem builder at that age, right, But when you're in college,
isn't time for the kid to learn how to build
his own self esteem? Yeah? Des parents and lean away.
I mean we're all looking for even in our age.
We all have insecurities and we all you know what
I'm saying, and you need somebody to put their arm
(01:10:13):
around your kick you in the ass. But at some
point in times there's a you're in college, now, you're
on your own. I can't babysit you on your self worth,
your self esteem, on how you you tell. And if
you take an ass kicking on the field and your
self esteem's ruined, you've probably got your priorities wrong and
you your identity wrong. Right. So okay, so where did
it come into the point? And maybe Lesson learned that
(01:10:35):
week at school would be miserable for me in practice, go,
I'm never losing like that again, So would for me
I'd want to fight back, right, Oh yeah, although I'd
be like gosh, dang, that was a humiliating So what
do you do with the humiliation? Sit there and take
it again, or fight back and maybe the next score
sixty eight to nothing, Maybe the next one's fifty. You know,
there's a process that goes to building it. But what
(01:10:55):
are you supposed to do if your major apple way
tell your backups? What would be more embarrassing to you
as the opposing coach? I'm kicking your ass forty eight
nothing at half, which we see it happens regularly all
the time. Well I say, I say it, but it
does straight of college football season. And then we come out,
we score our first three possessions and we're it's it's
sixty four nothing, sixty three nothing, and there's nine minutes
to go in the third quarter. I've got my guys out,
(01:11:18):
We're not gonna throw it again. I've got my guys
out on the field, and you're you're getting your ass
kick like that? Am I supposed to? What would you
rather do? I lean over to you and I said,
we get the ball back, and alls we do is
take a quarterback sneak or kneel down the rest of
the game.
Speaker 6 (01:11:30):
That's that's humiliating. Of course it is. I'd run it, make.
Speaker 5 (01:11:34):
Us stop you right hand it off and go make
a play. Right, you can't stop that? And in truth,
on third and fifteen, shouldn't my third string quarterback get
a chance to throw? If it's third and fifteen, I
want him to get a rep. What happens if my
starter gets hurt and I need him? Yeah, I mean,
I'm not talking about throw. We're throwing deep four plays
in a row on first intended fourteen. Yeah, we're back
to let the gi get a throw in right, get
(01:11:54):
a first down, then run it three more times. But
what am I supposed to do? Kneel down and humiliy
ate your worse to say, you guys are just an
embarrassment to eleven man football and you college kids, I'm
worried about your self esteem. I ain't worried about the
right tackle self esteem. If he can't handle getting his
ass kick, guess what, probably not the sport for you. So,
and you're plenty old. You go out there and you can,
(01:12:14):
you can chase tail and go grab a beer, do
what you want, and you practice it. So you're gonna
have to play better if you're a major major Now,
if Major Applewright dropped back and through sixty times and
they're thrown on first and ten ups seventy, then then
then he needs a character check. But I don't think
that's him. Okay, So with that, what are you supposed
(01:12:35):
to tell your backup? Okay, let's put it to you.
You're up twenty seven enough and there's no mercy rule.
It's a third inning. You're just beating down a team
that that's new into your league and they're playing up
but they're just not good enough. Okay, third inning?
Speaker 1 (01:12:49):
Are you.
Speaker 5 (01:12:51):
Are you telling the backup to go in there and
strike out on purpose? The guy who's never doesn't play much,
or is he going to swing the bat? No, I
swing the bat. And if you bunt four times in
a row, that's even more humiliating. Although one of the
three times this you get my point. Yeah, so I'd
rather have you do you know what? You keep playing.
My guys are gonna have to learn a lesson. We're
gonna they're gonna learn that. Maybe you have to little
study a little harder, Maybe you have to study a
(01:13:12):
little smarter. Maybe we gotta be a little more focused.
Maybe on this Thursday night instead of being in the bar.
Maybe a little extra time. I'll get your rest or
we'll come back next week, because guess what you're gonna
continue to do. You're still gonna got to show up
on Saturday and play the schedule. So when I hear that,
the first thing is, oh, man, that team, that poor team.
We all think that. But they're all the same age.
(01:13:33):
They're playing in the same league, meaning or division? Should
I say? I mean they're both whatever sow was that division?
Speaker 4 (01:13:38):
South Alabama's in the uh uh, let's see the oh gosh,
dang it. But yes, they're all their division one. I
mean they're playing the same level of Northwestern State sun
Belts Belt Conference and then uh, Northwestern States in the
Southland Conference.
Speaker 5 (01:13:52):
Okay, but same level of competition is my point now,
not the level competition the game we saw eighty points later.
So I have a hard time. I'm back until now.
If he was just a tird the coach calling it,
you know, like, come on, dude, you can't keep throwing
like this. Nineteen attempts, that's it. Fifty one plays and
you hang eighty plus. Yeah, now, listen, another thing you're
not gonna do on defense? If I'm the head coach.
(01:14:13):
I'm telling my coordinator, dude, rush four. Hm, just tell
them to be smart and we're not. They don't hit
people late. We're not gonna blitz another down. We're not
doing anything special. We're gonna be base play rush for
and play cover two, or play man and rush for
and give them an opportunity to make a throw without
you know what I mean? What am I supposed to
tell my guys take a knee at the snap and
(01:14:34):
don't rush the quarterback. That's the count of three alligators
worse right, So I can't get mad at And the
truth of the matter is, lessons are learned and they'll remember
this forever. Now, what are you gonna do about it?
I got no problem with it. As the loser. It
sucks because we lost, but you've taught me a valuable lesson.
As long as you want an ask clown why you
were doing it and taunting me.
Speaker 4 (01:14:52):
Eighty seven to ten, they couldn't stop anybody.
Speaker 5 (01:14:56):
Well, that's that's the coach. Better play better, Yeah, go
get go, recruit better players. Sorry, it's just the way
it works.
Speaker 6 (01:15:03):
Crazy.
Speaker 5 (01:15:03):
I feel bad for him. If my kid was on you,
would you coddle to your kid and say, oh man,
you say that's life. Man, You guys gonna have to
do something to get better. How'd you play? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:15:12):
Self evaluate? Right, there you go. How are you gonna
fix it? That's exactly right, my goodness. Eighty seven to ten.
All right, let's continue to talk college football. Let's take

Speaker 23 (01:16:49):
We want to win.
Speaker 3 (01:16:50):
Sean Salisbury continues on seven ninety.
Speaker 4 (01:17:30):
Oh how Scared University of Nebraska fight song right here
on the Shawn Salisbury Show. Sean Bryant, Trip Lee, Astros
and Angels Tonight eight thirty eighth, the first pitch seven
thirty on Deck Show right here on seven nine your
home for Astros Baseball, Texans and Bears Sunday Night Football
over at NRG Stadium. Bills beat the Dolphins in Thursday
at Night Football. Speaking of Nebraska, they released some audio
(01:17:53):
like on one of their micd up moments from playing Colorado.
Speaker 6 (01:17:58):
It's so funny and so brand.
Speaker 4 (01:18:01):
Shiloh Sanders when they're doing the coin toss, running his
mouth saying we're gonna boat race you, We're gonna roll you, guys,
and they got their asses handed to him.
Speaker 6 (01:18:11):
He did the same thing last year. Forgot what team
it was.
Speaker 4 (01:18:14):
He was running his mouth, talking all kinds of noise,
and they got their ass whooped last year and again
this past Saturday. I mean, Nebraska put it to him
physicality all over the place. Their quarterback Iola. Yeah, Dylan Riola, Riola,
excuse me, Dylan Riola really eerily similar to Patrick Mahomes,
(01:18:39):
meaning mannerisms, pregame stuff, haircut outfit.
Speaker 6 (01:18:44):
Have you seen it?
Speaker 4 (01:18:45):
Oh yeah, he does all the jumping stuff that Patrick
Mahomes does. He walks like him, he does the little
hand things like him. It's it's kind of weird.
Speaker 5 (01:18:51):
If you're going to study somebody's craft. Oh, it's not
a bad one to study.
Speaker 4 (01:18:55):
I'm talking, but likes the same number. They're both number fifteen.
Both were red god of weird man.
Speaker 5 (01:19:03):
Yeah, there's no dy.
Speaker 4 (01:19:04):
But if you're gonna emulate somebody, then there's there's not
a bad guy to do it there. Yeah, he's pretty good.
Why why is nobody mimicking Davis Mills?
Speaker 5 (01:19:13):
Well? Why not? Well? I I don't holding the surface
or a clipboards not something you really need to mimic you.
They all know how to do that. Yeah, there you go.
What is it?
Speaker 16 (01:19:23):
Dog?
Speaker 5 (01:19:24):
That dog millsy but he's a backup. Yeah there, you
give it? What do you give him? The hand signal?
Speaker 6 (01:19:28):
Handsignal?
Speaker 5 (01:19:28):
You wig we call the wigwa give me, give me
the personnel group, go give you this, give me three,
give me three? Hey, yeah what it is? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (01:19:38):
Three personnel?
Speaker 5 (01:19:39):
Yeah, hey, eleven, give me eleven personnel eleven. Hey. Uh,
so you're saying that Sanders talked a little bit more,
ran his mouth like clapping in front of their face.
You know, the ultimate disrespect. He said, you know we're
about to roll, y'all. You don't believe that, shiloh, you
know y'all suck. Uh yeah, Nebraska, I mean, uh, Colorado
(01:20:03):
is gonna get rolled quite a bit this year.
Speaker 6 (01:20:05):
They're gonna win three games this year.
Speaker 5 (01:20:08):
I was gonna say, I'll take I'd said it at
three and a half and and dare you to dare
you to.
Speaker 6 (01:20:12):
Take the over. They're gonna win three.
Speaker 5 (01:20:17):
We're gonna roll your ass, slippery Rock.
Speaker 24 (01:20:19):
You know, as at the Rocks a clap like that,
because I kind of in their kitchen like like you're
you're rolling up into my space a little bit?
Speaker 5 (01:20:33):
How'd you like a little uh? I'll give you a
little uh. I'll give you a little roll in my kitchen.
To Dylan Ryola, Maddie rules got to go and that's.
Speaker 6 (01:20:41):
What sure do.
Speaker 4 (01:20:42):
Yeah, they're tough, man, they're like physicality wise.
Speaker 5 (01:20:45):
Like you know what college football is better when the
corn Huskers are better. There's some teams like when Miami Hurricanes.
You know, when teams have been down, the football is
not the same, not the same. If l s he's
not good, but there's the same. I mean when my
Trojans were down for a minute, it's like just doesn't
feel the same out West not they have to win
it all the time. But when you want Miami and Nebraska,
(01:21:09):
you want blue bloods to be good. Now people that
are playing against Nebraska care less about them. But as
a football fan, I like when I tune it, turn
it in and Nebraska and Oklahoma back in the day
when they used to play each other and get after
it and the tear away jerseys with Johnny Rodgers and
Greg Prue, it was awesome. Yeah, so I think blue
we like blue bloods to be good. It just seems
(01:21:30):
like it's like in the NFL, if the Okay, we
go through all of a sudden, it's if the Packers
or the Steelers sucked every year. What I mean like,
football is a little better when they're out right and
then there's some you say, so who cares? But you
get my point right, right, So I think, and it's
good and that sea are red in that stadium. Have
(01:21:51):
been to that stadium in Lincoln. It's a fun. It's
a fun college football Saturday when they're playing well, like
in most places but college town and all there is
to go shut down everything. Warren Buffett's coming, all right,
let's go watch this football game with the corn Huskers.
So yeah, good for them, and good to Matt Rule.
Matt Rule has always been a better college coach that's
been his moment. I mean, he tested it, but he's
a college guy and done a good job and was
(01:22:13):
the big reason why Dylan Ryola flipped from Georgia and
a future that he would have. I can guarantee you
at some point in his four years or three years there,
he's winning a national title once. Beckley, I mean, that's
just who Georgia feels like they are. Now you go
to Nebraska, you take a little chance. Yeah, they've been
diving up and down at times, and now you go there.
And I love the fact that he went there. I'm
(01:22:34):
going to change the program instead of be a part
of a program that doesn't need change, it just needs
fitting in. Got some ability. Scott Frost Frosty, Yeah, he
and that's his alma mater. I know, it's the crazy thing.
I had some conversations with him, uh post Nebraska what
was Frost a lot at the irony of it. He
(01:22:56):
was there with trev Alberts, who was Nebraska's uh add
and so the you know that it just didn't work
out for Scott Frost, right, I know this at one
point and you go do your alma mater, there's a
little more pressure, right If you're an SC football player,
you coach at s here, you're the A D like
Lynn Swan and Patty, and it's a little more pressure
on you. Yeah, and then you feel a little more
(01:23:17):
accountability because that's your guys, right, Not that you're not
doing the job well if you were, if you were,
went to another school to do but a little more accountability.
But I know this is that he if he had
to do it over again, he would have ever less
Central Florida. I said, what's your dream?
Speaker 6 (01:23:30):
Jout?
Speaker 5 (01:23:30):
He goes, I'd be back at Central Florida coaching them.
Should have never done shouldn't and that's your alma mater.
Not He wasn't mad at anybody in particular. It didn't
work out right, you know, you got to get supportive everybody,
and people are moving and you know, and somebody new
comes in and you're trying to support that. It's it's
just a lot of moving parts at the Power five school. Well,
if he had to do it over again, remember he's responded,
they were undefeated and Central Florida was rolling, and that
(01:23:51):
that's when they started kicking ass and being it. We
got to know who these guys are, he'd still be there.
That's so you do it over you you had to
do it over again. Wouldn't have jumped. It's tough of
your alm modern love Nebrawski. He was all complimentary, but
he would have never left Central Florida. He had a dot.
Speaker 4 (01:24:05):
They were not had that UFC team rolling. Oh yeah,
they were really, really, really good.
Speaker 5 (01:24:10):
So I was a I'm a a fan, you know,
I am of Scott Frost. Yeah, and I'm a fan
of Trev Alberts. I've known Trev that I worked with him.
They just and their different personalities, but both very stubborn,
which is a good thing. It can be a good thing.
And and Trev's a really smart guy in Nebraska. And
so Scott frostbit's ironic. He goes to you know, just
(01:24:30):
like telling a kid, everything's not about Division one Power
five football, you can go play somewhere else. Same thing
with the coach, you get that bit. Oh my gosh.
Matt Ruhlesaw with the NFL got paid win did didn't
like back in college, And I imagine Matt's going to
be there forever because he loves it. Same thing with
Scott Frost. You leave Central Florida because you're going to
Alma mater, bigger money, chance to grow. Then it doesn't
quite work out, and you're like three quarters the way
(01:24:52):
through it. You're like, should have never left this gig. Yeah, grass,
just because it's bigger doesn't make it greener, you know
what I'm saying. Yeah, a lot. Matter of fact, it's
tougher to keep all your grass green when it's bigger. Right,
it's a lot to cover. Yeah, lots of water, there's
no doubt about it. All right, let's get into the
eight o'clock hour. Let's talk Texans. Let's look at some
early matchups for the Texans. Who has a better wider
(01:25:13):
seving gore? The Texans are the Bears.
Speaker 6 (01:25:14):
That's next.
Speaker 5 (01:25:14):
Whoa whoa, Well, who's got a better automobile dealership? Classic

wearing the Icy Whites cut, Icy Whites cut. Yeah, all
white dog, that's what the Texas are wearing. Liberty white
out or whatever they call it. Yeah, uh huh.
Speaker 5 (01:27:31):
The is the helmet? The helmet still blue?
Speaker 6 (01:27:33):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:27:35):
How sweet would have been there with a white white
white Yeah? Come on, oh man, talk about talking about ice.
Speaker 5 (01:27:42):
Yeah, it's gonna be sweet to look at. I'll go
take care of your business. You get a stand on
business on Sunday night, Triple are we standing on business?
Speaker 6 (01:27:51):

Speaker 5 (01:27:56):
Yeah? Hey, no cap on a stack right?
Speaker 6 (01:27:59):
Real? For real?
Speaker 4 (01:28:03):
They had on, uh yesterday on TV they had on
I forgot what channel they had on. All the Fast
and Furious. You watched a couple two or the only
reason I watched it was because family. Yeah, yeah, family.
I got done from the gym and the coal plunge
and all that and went home and was watching the
end of the Astros game and then flipped over to
(01:28:25):
Fasten the Furious nineteen.
Speaker 6 (01:28:26):
It was great, fantastic, said nineteen.
Speaker 5 (01:28:29):
Yeah, it was like of them who pulls more?
Speaker 6 (01:28:32):
Oh yeah, here we go?
Speaker 5 (01:28:34):
Who frigging pulled? Didn't you have something eight o'clock you
wanted to tell us? Do you say I'm gonna stay it?
Did you save me?
Speaker 1 (01:28:39):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (01:28:39):
Yeah, I dude?
Speaker 6 (01:28:40):
Yeah, before that? Who pulls more? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:28:43):
Is it Luda mm hm or Tyresee damn? They both
walk into a bar, sit on down the ladies are
there there? Maybe out in the woodlands, Uh huh. Maybe
they're in old town Scottsdale, good place. They might be
near sc you know, in good bar at sc in
(01:29:06):
West La in Hollywood. But they roll up. They just
got done.
Speaker 7 (01:29:10):
You know.
Speaker 5 (01:29:11):
It's a wrap on Fast and Furious twenty four. Okay,
Vin's about ninety damn, lay Vitty, Vity's about ninety. No,
but they they waltz in right now. Okay, and people
are you know, do you hear the whispers?
Speaker 10 (01:29:27):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (01:29:27):
There's you know, you know, what I'm saying. Yeah, oh yeah, yeah,
oh K, so you can take it. They walk into
a college bar, who pulls more Luda? Really?
Speaker 6 (01:29:36):
If it's a college bar, louda Luda looks younger.
Speaker 5 (01:29:39):
Okay, college bar, Luda.
Speaker 4 (01:29:41):
Regular bar. Tyres Cougar's Tyrese? Oh yeah really? How tall
do you think? Tyrese is five ten?
Speaker 2 (01:29:50):
Yeah?
Speaker 14 (01:29:50):
Maybe five eleven six five under six?
Speaker 8 (01:29:52):
Right?
Speaker 5 (01:29:52):
How tall do you think? Luda is five six? About
five five five six seven? So I thought I could
set my drink on top of his head. So I
knew Ludacris was short. He's five eight. Okay, we call
hes a bucks sixty. I'm going to the tail of
the tape here. Yeah, I thought Tyree was like six
to one. Tyres is five to eleven. Oh okay, on
seventy two. You place a big premium on height when
(01:30:14):
you're pulling. Have you ever noticed, I know the tail
of the tape? Is it a good guy hot? Well,
you'll tell me when a guy's hot. I mean you
like you like? I mean you want to bang garoppolo? Yeah,
I mean of course you do. Yeah, I mean, let's
just admit it's okay. I don't want to make a canoodle. No, no,
rub your hand on his face because it's smooth. I think.
Speaker 4 (01:30:32):
No, I like it when he's got the five o'clocks. Okay,
so you Gabe Capler is another guy. You're big Gabe
capitel guy. Huh yeah, you kind of had a crush
on Paul Walker. God rest his soul.
Speaker 5 (01:30:43):
It didn't though, right, Okay on Paulie right yeah, okay,
so with Luton type, but you're like, oh, he's the
guy's six five eleven six foot, he can't pull. Have
you ever noticed if you're under six foot, Brian, you
can't pull in Brian's world. I mean I'm six five,
so I'm just sick. Fine, you're basically saying can't pull.
Speaker 6 (01:31:02):
No, it's exactly.
Speaker 5 (01:31:04):
It's got to be racist.
Speaker 1 (01:31:05):
Height is racist.
Speaker 15 (01:31:07):
It is.
Speaker 6 (01:31:07):
I don't know, it's always bad.
Speaker 5 (01:31:09):
It is, it's always been. It doesn't matter. Basically, you're
saying that everybody's it's kind of a racist thing. I
don't know how we how we did it. No society
seems to be able to make races out of sound here.
We got to get the sounder. That's got to be racist. Yeah,
all right, So if you're under six foot. Brian's telling
all you guys out there listening, you can't pull. No,
it's just a taller guy can pull more. Who's the
Who's the community?
Speaker 4 (01:31:29):
The other day that she said I was the dork
community or whatever the whatever it was the nerd community,
part of the dork Yeah, you were like, yeah, you
you just you're down on the dorks.
Speaker 6 (01:31:37):
You can't you know you can't.
Speaker 5 (01:31:38):
You're down on the sub sixers.
Speaker 6 (01:31:40):
Well I'm not.
Speaker 5 (01:31:41):
Oh, you're like, you're like the the instant like visual
says you're under six foot. You're really not going to
pull as much as a guy's six three is all
you're saying.
Speaker 4 (01:31:50):
So I would love for the women that listen to
us to call in on this one seven.
Speaker 5 (01:31:53):
One odd look when the woman's taller than the guy.
Speaker 4 (01:31:57):
Yeah, remember uh Sam uh that called in and he said, Hey,
you're gonna be uh my son's best man. Yeah, so Sam,
I'm gonna be his best man in his wedding.
Speaker 6 (01:32:07):
His fiance is five to ten. Sam is five eight
five seven.
Speaker 5 (01:32:12):
So when she says we hold walk in, but she
says hold my drink, honey, she just puts it on
his head. Yes, Okay, that's cool. Yeah, so, but you're
really like when it comes to the tail of the
tape and who pulls more? Yeah, it's so right now
you're you're really equally disappointed because lude is short and tyrees.
You thought it might have been like six two two,
It was like six.
Speaker 9 (01:32:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:32:31):
No, I'm saying when we do who pulls more? We're
talking about just one thing. You walk into a bar.
Who's going to grab the attention of the ladies. Is
it going to be a short king or is it
going to be a tall guy because short kings need
their love to dog?
Speaker 5 (01:32:42):
Yeah? I mean it's like you they shorty? Do you short?
Short kings ain't getting no love for one night? Yeah?
Not only Okay, so who pulls more?
Speaker 4 (01:32:50):
I think it's harder for shorter guys to pull to pull, Yeah,
it takes a little more, a little more effort. Well
were you're you're an anomaly triple like you're my dog,
you know, like you got you like Rico suave over
there cut.
Speaker 5 (01:33:04):
But just like six foot to some like a five
four girls, a tall dude. Right, What happens if the
good aren't you? What happens if the five five girl?
The delta Gamber sorority girls five five and she likes
likes shorter guys like Luda good good. So you're just
saying overall, who pulls more? You're taking Luda in the
college bar and in a like a going to a
(01:33:25):
bar like where there's a little older group, non college bar,
you take a Tyrese. How about you Tripoli?
Speaker 6 (01:33:30):
Mm hm, he's answering the phone.
Speaker 5 (01:33:35):
I'm gonna, I'm gonna. I'm gonna take all the way through.
Speaker 6 (01:33:40):
You're taking, you know, I think one one for the other.
Speaker 5 (01:33:43):
I think its yeah, I think it depends on where
you're at. That's a good point. Yeah, because man, who
do you want to sit down with an have an
hour conversation with Tyrese? You do just because of his
background and his.
Speaker 4 (01:33:53):
I watched in this. I don't want to get sentimental
or anything, but I don't don't bury the lead. I
watched a he was on the Breakfast Club and he
talked about I don't know if this is the way off,
but just the way that he talks about his divorce
and like everything to health stuff. I would love to
(01:34:14):
hear that.
Speaker 16 (01:34:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:34:14):
But also then there's the point of I grew up
listening to Ludacress, Word of Mouth. His one of his
albums was one of my favorite CDs of all time.
We jammed, That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (01:34:21):
There's a you. It depends on what your energy is.
Do you want to go in like, Okay, this is
a life changing story that Tyresee is telling us. And
if you want to go and say, man, what a
route you've been now. I don't know all of Loota's
background as far as when he was ten, where he's raised,
but uh, I'm gonna go if it's just pulls more Tyrese.
(01:34:42):
But I'm gonna say the overall lot it's a close one. Know,
there's gonna be There's gonna be plenty to take Luda first,
because I feel like they're both funny. I feel like
Luda's like got more quick one liners. Yeah, that makes
sense on what you're looking for. But to pull Tyrese
in a in a close one or Looting a close one,
I feel like it'd be Luda. Okay, fair enough. If
(01:35:03):
you go to.
Speaker 6 (01:35:03):
Scottsdale and put these dudes in a bar, it's Luda.
Speaker 5 (01:35:08):
I think I'm gonna say, Tyree, really yeah, I would
say they want Luda to say, keep them loose and
laughing and all that, and then they're gonna say Tyree
just has that, you know, bad boy, a little more
bad boy. But Luda's got a little bit of that
in the show too, But he's the one who comes Tyresee.
But in real life. I wonder how close their person
he's out personalities are to their to to to that,
(01:35:30):
to that movie stuff like how their person you on there,
the humor and the rest of it. I wonder we
get more Tyressee on social media, I think than we do.
Doot it right, Yeah, I think so. I think so close.
Speaker 4 (01:35:41):
I feel like tyres is more sentimental, I guess more
kind of not.
Speaker 6 (01:35:48):
Not I'm not saying.
Speaker 5 (01:35:49):
I think it feels like he's through his fields.
Speaker 6 (01:35:51):
There you go.
Speaker 15 (01:35:51):
Hey, guys, are goud Field just called in from the office.
Speaker 6 (01:35:54):
He didn't want to get on the on the air.
Speaker 14 (01:35:56):
He's he just not.
Speaker 15 (01:35:57):
He just said that he didn't have no problem he's
five not and he didn't have no problem pulling back
in his day.
Speaker 7 (01:36:03):
Damn.
Speaker 6 (01:36:03):
I wish we would hear get him.
Speaker 14 (01:36:06):
You know, I ain't gonna put the game out there like.
Speaker 5 (01:36:10):
Hey man, so hey, Sean in the hallway right now.
Speaker 10 (01:36:14):
Work.
Speaker 5 (01:36:16):
I gotta talk a little bit, man, Brian, Brian, that's
disrespect man. You I'm I'm five nine, I pulled. I
gotta go this thick booty. So let's see what Ryan's
got on this? Ryan, what's happening? What about this?
Speaker 6 (01:36:33):
Who pulls?
Speaker 5 (01:36:33):
More?
Speaker 16 (01:36:34):
So?
Speaker 5 (01:36:36):
Bro, we're just saying, we're just we're just sitting on
a stack. Dog.
Speaker 6 (01:36:40):
Yeah, what's happening?
Speaker 15 (01:36:42):
Bro?
Speaker 25 (01:36:43):
I'll tell you what I think Luda. Luda does better
because he's more well known. But I think Tyreee could
really wound somebody. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (01:36:51):
Oh yeah, but I will say this.
Speaker 25 (01:36:54):
In college, being six six, it was not hard. I
think is a big deal.
Speaker 10 (01:36:58):
It is.
Speaker 5 (01:36:59):
Yeah. Yeah, well I'll echo that sentiment.
Speaker 6 (01:37:03):
Yeah, Sewan six five.
Speaker 25 (01:37:06):
So when I was let's see, when I was a
pledge in college, we used to do these like intros
like a sorority houses. And my thing was I'm six
six and completely portionate, and that seemed to work.
Speaker 15 (01:37:19):
Bro.
Speaker 5 (01:37:22):
Oh, there's so much I could say right now, I'm
out of that business. I feel your cut when you're
sitting on a stack. You don't have to say it, bro,
you know what I mean?
Speaker 8 (01:37:35):
Cut?
Speaker 4 (01:37:35):
And now Ryan, you're married and you have a baby,
an infant, so obviously something worked.
Speaker 5 (01:37:41):
Now, I'll be damned. Don't you do? Listen to the radio, Ryan, Ryan,
just don't you dare. Let some five nine guy come
in and swallow your grass. There you go, I feel
your cut six six. I like, yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:38:01):
When I saw him at the bar a couple weekends ago,
I keith, I'm skin looking up at him.
Speaker 6 (01:38:05):
I like, God, blessed son.
Speaker 5 (01:38:06):
Good dude, what great? I love it. That's awesome.
Speaker 4 (01:38:10):
Let's get to break seven one, three, two and two
five seven, And he got some guys I want to
get in on this conversation.
Speaker 6 (01:38:14):
We'll discuss that.
Speaker 4 (01:38:15):
And who's got the better wide receivers, Texans or Bears.
Speaker 6 (01:38:18):
That's next.
Speaker 3 (01:38:20):
Let the celebration start war Sewn Salisbury.
Speaker 1 (01:38:24):
It's a Sewn Salisbury Show.
Speaker 4 (01:38:33):
Astros and Angels tonight in Los Angeles. Eight thirty eight
is the first pitch seven thirty on deck show. Right here,
I'm seven on your home for Astros Baseball. You listen
to the Shawn Salisbury Show Sean bryn and Tripoli. Texans
and Bears Sunday Night football at NRG Stadium. The Bills
beat the Dolphins and Thursday Night Football last night seven
one three two one two five seven eines. Get back
out to the phone lines, Phil, you're up first.
Speaker 9 (01:38:55):
What's happening, Hey man, Hey man, I just had to
call back her triple Do you tell y'all what I said?
So here's the deal. I'm in Sean's age group. Okay.
So back in my day, sense of humor and intelligence
was an aphrodisiac for a female. Okay, Nowadays, most guys
(01:39:17):
lead with their wallets. Okay, we didn't do that. We
didn't leave with our watching. If you get a conversation
with the girl, you got her, no matter who she is,
if you have some intelligence and you can make her laugh.
So that's what my lucky part was. I remember one
time I'm hanging out with the tight end and the
quarterback from my college, Jackson State University. Okay, we're in
(01:39:39):
this place, we're looking at these females. They pointed us,
and they beckon to come over, and both the guys
pointed you. I say, no, him talking about me. I know,
height has nothing to do with it. I'm kind of
cute too, so but anyway.
Speaker 4 (01:40:00):
Whispering in the office, man, I love it. I love it,
hey man, look in order.
Speaker 5 (01:40:03):
To almost feel him crouched down and I know, right
like at a catcher's stance like this with his hand
over the his phone, like muzzling, like yeah, you guys
know what time it is?
Speaker 6 (01:40:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (01:40:12):
Here.
Speaker 5 (01:40:13):
I love Phil.
Speaker 6 (01:40:14):
Gott to have intellect in a sense of humor manner
you ain't pulling.
Speaker 5 (01:40:16):
Oh see, you can pull them. But if you open
your mouth and you overload your mouth and you're asking,
you're just you're just an idiot. I think that eventually
that's like, okay, enough, hey man, it looks good to
look at you open your mouth and you're dumb as
a pile of rocks and you can't and you can't laugh,
and you're one of those guys, Hey, enough about you,
let's talk about me type of guys. Yeah, I would
imagine they go fast.
Speaker 6 (01:40:37):
I'll tell you what.
Speaker 4 (01:40:37):
I ain't lead with my wall because there's not much
in there anyways. So h it's hard taking care of me. Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 14 (01:40:42):
Well I'm not finna. No, no, you have grown ass
a belt.
Speaker 5 (01:40:45):
You've seen grocery prices, you know, come on, man, I
do a lot of the grocery shopping. So yeah, and
I got a bad habit of when I buy one,
I buy two so I don't have to go back
and buy another one three days.
Speaker 7 (01:41:00):
I don't.
Speaker 5 (01:41:00):
I'm not an every day grocery I go and I say, okay,
there's no body soap, right, you know your body's shower jail.
The usual guy give me seven of them. Yeah, I'll
see in three months. I'm not trying to go back.
I went in for to spend a buck, bucket a
quarter on one bag. I came out spent four forty. Okay, hey,
I'm gonna get some some rice, you know, so you
can have it store. I got built some you know,
(01:41:21):
cabins in my garage and build them so storage in
case power goes out. Stuff, you know. I'm like that. Yeah,
fifteen of them right, just as I but not the
non parish was say I don't go and order four
water melons because I'm only gonna eat one and three
months later it's still sitting there. Or you know, you
buy fruit, you got to get on it, vegebo fresh vegetables.
But like it can good if I want for four,
(01:41:43):
I'm just getting eate just so I don't have to
go back and do it again yeah, that's what I'm
and so your bill, you're preparing for it. What it
is now is that you buy a you you go
and buy, you think you're paying you're paying bulk, but
you're paying for bulk and you're buying one bag buying
one bat. That's really what it's come down to. So yeah,
I uh, how did we get to that grocery store?
How do we get to all? Because Phil said that
(01:42:04):
back in the day. You know, some guys try to
get chicks by leading with their walleh. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:42:10):
There.
Speaker 5 (01:42:11):
Now you lead with the wallet. The problem is that
the wallet's the thing you let them find out about
without telling them. If you've got if you got coin,
if you got it, you don't got to say it, right,
you know? They know That's exactly if you're if you're
driving around and just cooling out and you come in
your old school pickup, you have the same truck and
cooling out and you're rolling and all of a sudden,
the dude's living in ten thousand square feet and didn't
(01:42:31):
tell you that caught you by surprise.
Speaker 1 (01:42:34):
Got it?
Speaker 5 (01:42:35):
You don't need to say it. They'll find out, and
quite frankly, that can't sustain anything. But now there's some
I know that a twenty five year old when she's
dating a ninety year old loves them. I know she's
in love with it, right, exactly a loved Have you
ever noticed a ninety year old dude with the thirty
year old woman is never the rich guy?
Speaker 6 (01:42:54):
Yeah, I mean it's never the poor It is never
the poor guy.
Speaker 1 (01:42:56):
He's the rich guy.
Speaker 5 (01:42:57):
Yeah, it's not the guy where he lives. Yeah, of
course she loves him because he's he's just.
Speaker 6 (01:43:05):
Got a good heart.
Speaker 5 (01:43:05):
He's a great lover, right, Oh yeah, great protector at
ninety Yeah. One blue dart, five blue darts. I don't
hate the ninety years. Just a blue dart. Yeah, if
you got it, you don't have to say it. They'll
find out right with respect and make him lack man
usually yeah bingo. But also being above six foot helps,
just saying mm hmm, I've never heard with you, you
(01:43:30):
mirror minions, have to deal with it. Five eleven. I mean,
you know, when I was in the eighth grade, I
was past six ft. So you guys, good luck to you. Okay,
it's crazy.
Speaker 4 (01:43:40):
I didn't get to six foot until like junior year
of high school. Yeah, I get to where I'm at.
B oh yeah three buddy of sophoen we were in college.
Crazy my buddy Grenado.
Speaker 5 (01:43:51):
You know, he always says, what do you say where
you go to the game of se showing where you sitting?
I'm gonna sit here you go? So you're with the poors,
You're with the peasants, here with the pores. Where you at, Oh,
never mind, you're America's guests. You're up there the suite.
Oh yeah, you know that shop, you're with the pores.
Maybe you come on, maok, maybe we can fit.
Speaker 4 (01:44:09):
You seven hoty Tom, Thanks for holding.
Speaker 16 (01:44:13):
Good morning, Good morning guys. Great show is always what
an anatomy lesson I got in the first hour, classic
guys were shining on that.
Speaker 23 (01:44:24):
Hey listen, let.
Speaker 16 (01:44:25):
Me understand something right now with you guys and what
you're talking about. You know, Luda and Tyresee, if I
understand you correctly, you got both could pull but Luda
would dazzle them and ty Resee would swoon him. And
is that what I'm understanding?
Speaker 2 (01:44:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:44:40):
And I think Tyrese can I think you get like
staring into his eyes because he's got this a deep story, right, honestly,
right now, we may have just as deep a story back.
I don't know, but we I think we see more
of Tyresee's emotion come out, like on social media and
what he's been through and stuff. So I'm sure both
of them. But yeah, I think that there's this of
(01:45:00):
you want to put your arm around tyres right I do.
And then there's this sense of Luda's going to walk
you in and every He's going to be the life
of the whole party, that everybody wants to come out
and have laughs with him. So I think it depends
on what are you feeling melancholy or are you feeling
the energy? And I think that maybe Luda takes one
and leads you that way, and then when you not
want the melancholi, I think Tyreez takes you down that road.
(01:45:21):
That's what I think.
Speaker 16 (01:45:22):
Well, you know, I'm more of the dazzling type. If
I could be a dazzling type and I would hang
out closer to Luda and take whatever he casts off,
you know, I think you'd have the nicest election. You know,
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (01:45:38):
I don't think there's any doubt about.
Speaker 16 (01:45:39):
To understand it.
Speaker 5 (01:45:40):
Yep.
Speaker 16 (01:45:41):
I just want to understand it. Let me let me
see if I can talk Astros just for a second.
I'm looting for the Astros. I think you know that.
I think this is going to be their finest season,
and I'm hoping they get all the way to the
World Series. But what I really want to have happened
is I want to see the Astros get to the
World and I want to see the New York Mets
(01:46:02):
get to the World Series because I grew up in
New York City and I was a Mets fan, and
I bonded with my dad, who lost to Brooklyn Dodgers
in nineteen fifty seven when I was two years old,
so he would never take me the Yankee Stadium because
he hated the Yankees because they always beat the Dodgers
in the World Series. So when the Mets came down
(01:46:22):
the pike, it was on and me and my dad.
Like most fathers and sons, we bonded on that baseball team.
Now with my son, when I moved here and I
had my son, we bonded with the Astros. So I
would love to see an expansion draft World Series so
I could see the two teams that I've loved in
(01:46:43):
my life who have one World championships, go Mono Amano.
Who would I vote for?
Speaker 23 (01:46:49):
Who would I root for?
Speaker 16 (01:46:50):
I don't know, but I'd come full circle. And I
think my life with baseball at my age now would
be full circles. So I'm really rooting for the men
to come through this. Will it happen? Who knows anything
can happen. Remember, the Marlins have two World champions Ships
as uh as wildcard teams, so it's possible. But that's
(01:47:15):
what I'm really hoping for. Man, that would be just
picture perfect for me because I saw the Yankees in
two thousand beat my Mets at Jay Stadium to win
a World championship. That hurt, you know, and it just
would go full circle for me. I'm hoping the Astros
keep doing it. And uh, that's all I got, man.
(01:47:37):
It's great listening to you guys as always. Thanksful letting
me in.
Speaker 5 (01:47:40):
Thank you to night stuff.
Speaker 12 (01:47:41):
Tom.
Speaker 5 (01:47:41):
Yeah, that bond with the kids, with the son or
the daughter, dad or mom, you know, it takes to
the ballpark. I freaking love it. Yeah, good for him
and now it's Astros bonding for him and his boy.
Good stuff, Tom, Thank you.
Speaker 6 (01:47:52):
Seven seven ninety is the number to join Roger and Brian.

bedroom and you just can't get it done. You're also
not having good workouts, you're not having good days. You're
just up and down with your mood. You might be
suffering from low testosterone. It happens, especially after the age
of thirty. I never thought a million years that I
would have low testosterone. Would come to find out I did.
And I figured that out when I went over to
(01:48:24):
Men's Tea clinic got my blood drawn. I got my
results back in about ten or fifteen minutes. I sat
down with the clinic director, Sean Mullen. He's at the
Spring location. He was phenomenal, super in depth, answered all
my questions. I had tons of them, and I started
my total illness optimization plan and I felt the benefits.
Speaker 6 (01:48:40):
In just a week.
Speaker 4 (01:48:41):
My brain fog started to dissipate, and after two weeks
that brain fog was completely gone. And it's all right
there at Men's Tea Clinic. There are five locations right
here in the city, the Heights, Paarlan Opacity in a

Men's Tea Clinic dot com. Tell them that Brian Alma
sent you were factor. The Shawn Salisbury Show continued.
Speaker 6 (01:49:53):
Welcome back to the Sean Salisbury Show.
Speaker 4 (01:49:55):
Hair on Sports Talk seven ninety Sean Salisbury, Brian Alimamanuel Elmore,
Astros bta's open up a serious tonight in Los Angeles
against the Angels. Eight thirty eight is the first pitch
seven thirty on Deck Show right here on Sports Talk
seven ninety, your home for Astros, Baseball, Texans and Bears
Sunday Night football at an Archie Stadium. The Bills beat
the Dolphins last night in Thursday Night football. Let's get
(01:50:15):
back out to the phone line seven one three two
point two five, seven ninety's talk to Brian.
Speaker 6 (01:50:20):
Brian, we appreciate you holding.
Speaker 26 (01:50:21):
Good morning, Hey, Good morning Brian, Good morning, Sean.
Speaker 8 (01:50:24):
Happy Friday.
Speaker 5 (01:50:25):
I will be quick.
Speaker 26 (01:50:26):
I'm I'm a fellow. I'll start by saying I'm a
fellow John Singleton's supporter. I know there's a few of
us out there, but I'm gonna try to make an
argument for.
Speaker 5 (01:50:36):
That fan base to grow. Uh. The guy is a
fine The guy's.
Speaker 26 (01:50:41):
Making what seven hundred and something.
Speaker 5 (01:50:43):
Thousand dollars this year.
Speaker 26 (01:50:45):
I started thinking, you know, I know that a bray
You was a problem at the beginning of the season,
and then subsequently he was released. I get all that,
and I know why he was at first over Singleton.
But Singleton's sitting on about three three hundred and fifty
ath bats.
Speaker 16 (01:51:01):
Right, he's got.
Speaker 26 (01:51:02):
Fourteen homers and just under forty RBI. You got the
opposite end of the infield. Guy named Alex Bregman. We
all know in love he's a free agent. He's gonna
go fetch twenty five thirty million dollars. Whether it's with
the astrolia or not. I'm simply saying Alex Bregman's got
twice the ad bets, not even quite twice. He's got
(01:51:24):
like five hundred and fifty at bats with twenty two homers,
and his batting average as a twenty points higher than
John Singleton. John Singleton has not had the reps again,
understandably so, but he's as streaky as Singleton is. If
the Spot and Brown set him down and said you
(01:51:45):
are our guy, he seems like he's the type of
guy to get the confidence once you set him down.
Speaker 5 (01:51:51):
And talk to him and say we're going with you.
Speaker 8 (01:51:53):
Man.
Speaker 5 (01:51:53):
The guy shows up, the God delivers.
Speaker 10 (01:51:55):
The gu's what he does.
Speaker 23 (01:51:57):
You could you could get a.
Speaker 26 (01:51:58):
First basement for two million dollars, not even a half
bad first baseman. I mean, I'm just looking at the numbers.
You're gonna give a guy twenty five or thirty million, rightfully,
So he's gonna get his bag. But the other end
of the other side of the diamonds not looking too
shabby either.
Speaker 8 (01:52:15):
What do we need to go out?
Speaker 26 (01:52:17):
And you know, sign Singleton.
Speaker 8 (01:52:21):
A couple of million.
Speaker 26 (01:52:22):
Bucks gets the job done in theory, right, you're saving
all that money now you can now you can keep
your Bregman and you win twice. That's all I'm saying.
I wanted to see if you know what you guys
thought about that.
Speaker 5 (01:52:36):
Man.
Speaker 6 (01:52:37):
Appreciate the call, Brian. What do you think, Sean?
Speaker 10 (01:52:40):
Uh?
Speaker 6 (01:52:40):
You know, I get the.
Speaker 4 (01:52:43):
Recent success of John Singleton been pretty consistent over the
last thirty games at least. I just don't think that
they see him as the long term solution at first base.
Speaker 5 (01:52:51):
And that was Brian, right, Yes, yeah, I I don't
think you can argue Brian's point. Did he more fans
that he that he's earned this, that he's I mean,
you look at the points and the money you're saving,
all great points when you're thinking of analytics and the
money that goes all those things and production considering the
amount of at bats, He's not wrong. Yeah, But here's
(01:53:15):
what I believe, Brian and Brian that he's always going
to be the first place when you're trying to replace. Yeah,
I've seen it football where there's a guy you can't
get out of the lineup, but you keep trying to
replace him with the first round pick or somebody who
is a little sexier pick, somebody who's maybe what's John
now thirty?
Speaker 6 (01:53:34):
Yeah, I think so.
Speaker 5 (01:53:35):
And it's not old, you know, but I think you're
always looking for a guy like that, and he keeps
playing and keeps last.
Speaker 6 (01:53:43):
He's about to be thirty three.
Speaker 5 (01:53:45):
You can't do right, Yeah, And I think that there's
a great respect for him and talk about a road
to get here, to get back, you know, to doing
this stuff here. And so I don't think Brian's wrong.
And I think we've said a lot of times this
year that if you're going to go with what you've
seen at first base, John Singleton has earned the right
to be the guy you go to first. Yes, now
(01:54:06):
you may want to put Daz there full time. I
get why you'd want to put somebody else there, but
I think that's how the organization feels respect John. Think
he's a good player like him on your roster, but
you're always going to be looking for the guy that's
Vlad Guerrero Junior. That's an MVP guy going into the season.
That's a one hundred rbi thirty home run guy regularly
(01:54:27):
and going to hit you two eighty to three. Have
that that's what you're looking for. That maybe Singleton could
do that. So Brian's not wrong about his points. I
just don't think from an astro standpoint that they're ever
going to make him four years in a row automatic
first base.
Speaker 4 (01:54:40):
He's going to have to fight for the job every
single day. That's where I stand. I don't think them
as an organization think he is the long term solution.
Speaker 6 (01:54:48):
That's where it is, and he's about to be thirty
three years old.
Speaker 5 (01:54:50):
That's just if they if they could go out tomorrow
and they felt like it would work and that they
could get a Vlad girl, they'd trade for him, right,
they would.
Speaker 4 (01:54:58):
Right, And I wouldn't you know, I wouldn't be surprised
if they try to make a run at pe A
Lonzo this office.
Speaker 5 (01:55:01):
And it wouldn't be shocking. Yeah, but it doesn't mean
it doesn't mean there's still not a spot for singles.
A matter of fact, that keeps you in the league.
You haven't priced yourself out. So and he's a good player.
And I think he's also putting up that if he
didn't want him here, somebody can use a left handed
power back. He does a pretty good job, right, Yeah,
so Brian's not wrong, But I just don't I think
you'd have a hard time convincing if you said, hey,
(01:55:22):
see the first baseman of your future, you're going to
give them a chance. Oh he'll play. You're never going
to get the full commitment from him here. That says
he's our guy, meaning he he's pregnant at third, but
for our first base, right, he's locked in every day.
Speaker 6 (01:55:34):
I agree.
Speaker 4 (01:55:35):
I just don't think they see that. It's doctor Roger, Roger,
what's happening?
Speaker 27 (01:55:39):
That's good mornings, Fellers. I just had a couple of
things on conversation previously about the conversation with the ladies. Yeah, absolutely, Yeah.
You know, I'm not a passive guy, never confused myself
as such. But yeah, that's how I got my beautiful wife.
You can just check out my Facebook. You can tell
you can say that doesn't go together like that. No,
I no, I don't have a lot of money. I
(01:56:00):
just had a lot of conversation. Just like just like
Nate Dogg said, great Nate dog RP, you know, how
do I get to leave with big? And if you're
just opening up your wallet, it's only temporary, what's you
know a lot of guys that's what they want, well,
temporart something something which is you know, hey, more part
to them.
Speaker 8 (01:56:20):
That's that's how you roll.
Speaker 5 (01:56:21):
That's how you roll.
Speaker 27 (01:56:22):
But yeah, absolutely, you know the conversation and and and
and making girls laugh, that's you know, that's that's that's
that's part of the gig, man that that's what you
live for.
Speaker 5 (01:56:31):
Man moments like that.
Speaker 27 (01:56:32):
I mean, I think anyway, anyway, moving.
Speaker 8 (01:56:35):
On to the uh to the Astros.
Speaker 16 (01:56:37):
Do you know the only reason why.
Speaker 5 (01:56:39):
We don't make it?
Speaker 27 (01:56:40):
You know we don't we don't win another ring.
Speaker 7 (01:56:42):
It's gonna because of lack of pop.
Speaker 27 (01:56:43):
I think the Pigeon's gonna be there, I think, Uh.
I think all the believers are gonna be fine, clean
up the errors, which I think they're willing to playoffs
and become more focused. But yeah, it'll be lack of pop.
That's why we don't get to where we need to be.
Speaker 8 (01:56:56):
Uh.
Speaker 27 (01:56:56):
And yeah, they'll have to figure that out in the
off season. But Greggie, I mean, that's gonna be his
It's gonna be his decision. It's gonna seeing where he
wants to move the first phase or he wants to
remain a third. He's figured I need it bad and
and Singleton for all his good efforts, he's just not
good enough. He's he's okay, serviceable, but do we really
want for serviceable moving forward? And guys, have a great weekend.
(01:57:18):
I'm gonna go see if I can't break an arm
at the driving range.
Speaker 5 (01:57:20):
Go hit him straight. Brother, I'm headed to the course
right after this, too, solid ball striker. Have a good one, brother,
Have a good weekend, Roger, Roger, Roger.
Speaker 6 (01:57:28):
Yeah, that's it.
Speaker 9 (01:57:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:57:29):
Stock to Felipe before we get to break. Felipe was
going on, what's up guys?
Speaker 28 (01:57:34):
Uh man, uh, real quick thing on the on the
height name all that man right now?
Speaker 5 (01:57:40):
You know how you can't control I'm five eleven.
Speaker 28 (01:57:42):
Uh, but man, I know I saw a video about this.
One guy was like he guys can't control but weight.
Women can control their weight. So I was like, oh,
that's a hard one, but uh, that's not here and
there nor there.
Speaker 5 (01:57:55):
So basically, you're how tall?
Speaker 1 (01:57:56):
Right?
Speaker 5 (01:57:56):
How tall are you again? Felipe? I'm five eleven, so
you ain't pulled ever in life. I'm married.
Speaker 4 (01:58:03):
I'm just going with the school of six twelve.
Speaker 28 (01:58:15):
You know, I've dated, you know, good amount of my life,
but now I'm married.
Speaker 5 (01:58:18):
Now man, tied down one man. There you go, and
you better you better say that loud or Mama might
be listening. I like your style. Oh no, she knows that.
There you go, She probably is listening. I love it.
Speaker 6 (01:58:30):
Yeah, man, I mean you'll talked about Peter A.
Speaker 28 (01:58:32):
Lonzo and you know John Singleton not being our in
your eyes, you know, not our long time first basement.
But if we really can't go out and get like
a superstar first basement, Peter Lonzo, anybody else, who do
you think they will target? I mean, I mean, if
Breakman doesn't come back, you know, we still gotta We're
talking about the trade and the off season. We started,
got Tucker, we start got maybe Breakman comes back.
Speaker 7 (01:58:53):
What do we do with Orlander?
Speaker 5 (01:58:54):
Do we pay Valdez? I mean, it's it's it's up
in the air. But who do you think we can
really afford it at this point? Yeah? That's a hell
of a point, and real quick, felipe before you hang up,
And if you got something else to ask, we'll let you.
If let's say they don't go get a first base
from this offseason, right, let's say, who you what you
got to work with? Is what's here fair enough? Or
in the minor leagues. I think Singleton's earned the right
(01:59:16):
to come to spring training as a starter, don't you, Yes,
I do. I do too, There's no doubt. And then
if one of these young if you move, if if
you're putting somebody, one of these young guys, you say,
we're gonna get them all kinds of ground balls and
they're gonna play first base. And if the guy beats
him out, fine, But if they go get somebody in
a different story. But if they don't, and you're gonna
you're gonna try to get somebody on this current roster
(01:59:37):
in the minor leagues to come and and be that
guy they gotta beat out Singleton. I think he's earned
the right to go into spring training as a starter.
If you stand where you are now.
Speaker 13 (01:59:47):
Yeah, I agreed.
Speaker 28 (01:59:48):
I think you know, we've been pursuing so much so
everybody's been has been getting runs at FIRS. Is like, man,
you just you know, you throw anybody over there and
then they say, oh.
Speaker 7 (01:59:57):
He's not doing anything good with the bat.
Speaker 6 (01:59:59):
But Singleton has been doing the place.
Speaker 28 (02:00:01):
He's been doing the scoot, he's doing everything over there first.
Speaker 8 (02:00:04):
But he just has a hitting.
Speaker 5 (02:00:05):
He's been better with the bat the last two years
exactly then the guy. I mean, even though Brady drove
in ninety, don't mean he got hot at the end.
But as far as overall with the number if you
if we did, we're able to par la out the
number of IT bats compared to somebody who played had
six hundred of them. Singleton's been the most consistent swinger
of the bat here for two years at that position.
Speaker 28 (02:00:25):
I agreed, And that's how I see. I think he
could be our long term if we don't go out
and get somebody else. I'm okay with Singleton. I'm not
gonna cry and moan and complain that, oh, he's not
doing much. But we have Alvarez, we have Tucker right now,
we have a two pretty much the first better Hall
of Famer, and we have other people that can pick
up that slack where he's not putting in well, honestly,
for me, if he's not hitting the bat, he'd better
(02:00:46):
be doing some plays out there.
Speaker 5 (02:00:47):
Hey man, I'm okay with that. Defense can win you
a lot of games. There you go, brother Felipe. Thanks,
appreciate you. Thank you. Roger's right though, too on the thing.
Humor will sustain you a lot longer. Oh yeah, humor
and intellect. Dog. I mean he said women and Felippe
and women can control their way, right?
Speaker 6 (02:01:03):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (02:01:05):
Is what the pH or F was he talking about?
Speaker 6 (02:01:07):
I think was an F?
Speaker 9 (02:01:08):
Was it F?
Speaker 7 (02:01:09):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (02:01:09):
Ok?
Speaker 6 (02:01:09):
Probably referring to the big ones of San Antonio.
Speaker 5 (02:01:13):
You just can't help yourself.
Speaker 6 (02:01:14):
What do you mean?
Speaker 9 (02:01:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (02:01:16):
You know what you're gonna be. The karma is gonna
get you. You're gonna marry a girl from San Antonio.
She's gonna be bigger than that, and she's gonna be
bigger than You're gonna fall in love to her personality, right,
and you're gonna have to run a four hundred meter
to get around her body.
Speaker 6 (02:01:28):
I can tell you one thing, and.
Speaker 5 (02:01:30):
You're gonna love her that now, and we're gonna accept
her and you're gonna love her. And that's just the
way it's gonna be and you're gonna it's gonna be
one of.
Speaker 6 (02:01:37):
Those Hispanic chick from San Antonio.
Speaker 5 (02:01:40):
That's gotta be racist.
Speaker 6 (02:01:41):
That's not racist.
Speaker 5 (02:01:43):
Triple did hispanic ever come out of my mouth? I
simply I said, you said. I said, you're gonna marry
a bigger girl, So San Antonio, it's gonna be karma,
and you're gonna fall in love with her personality. And
she's just gonna be a little bigger, a little bigger
to thirty five, but a big deal. That isbe from
San Antoni, and she's gonna you're gonna fall in love
(02:02:04):
with all with with the bigness.
Speaker 4 (02:02:06):
I will not date or marry anyone that does not
work out. So that's well, maybe she works out and
just a little thicker than you, okay at two thirty five? Yeah,
fifteen pounds lighter than me?
Speaker 5 (02:02:16):
Yeah, two thirty five.
Speaker 6 (02:02:18):
Do you know how big that isn't a woman?
Speaker 4 (02:02:20):
It's a big bonded Oh yeah.
Speaker 11 (02:02:24):
Maybe she's like six five, maybe with a page it's
not always with an F. Yeah, that would mean she's
like six four, maybe she's five. Maybe she's a fullback five.
Speaker 6 (02:02:34):
Ten five ten five, that's what it's gonna be heaped.
Speaker 5 (02:02:39):
On you, and you're gonna fall in love with her
and we're gonna accept her, and you're just gonna say
and you're gonna move to hill Country.
Speaker 6 (02:02:47):
I'm not that is not happening.
Speaker 4 (02:02:50):
Seven one three two two shallow yeah, seven five seven hoey,
Let's go to break.
Speaker 1 (02:02:58):

Speaker 6 (02:04:15):
Let's talk to Daryl first. What's happening to Darryl?
Speaker 8 (02:04:18):
Hey you guys, good morning man. In regards of pulling
those ladies, man, a lot of men got their assets.
Speaker 16 (02:04:24):
You know.
Speaker 8 (02:04:25):
Some men you've got a lot of money. Some men
they're real witty and funny, and they've got to be
intellectually a student and really rub a woman man. For me,
it was a lot different. I fled out was just
good looking. I mean back in the eighties and nineties
and I played in rock and roll bands, got the
long hair, real skinny.
Speaker 10 (02:04:45):
You know.
Speaker 8 (02:04:45):
My brother and I we'd have times we'd walk into
a club and my brother would say, I don't know
how the hell you do it.
Speaker 9 (02:04:50):
You got like a hundred.
Speaker 8 (02:04:51):
Girls looking at you right now. You know, I just
walk in and just walk out in like five minutes,
no problem.
Speaker 5 (02:04:56):
What instrument did you play? I'm a drummer, you're all, well,
they're they're EXPI you could look like you could make
a skunk's butt pucker if you're a drummer in a band.
You're pulling dog. But you said you were You said
you were hot. Oh yeah, so you're a hot and
you said, just ask you so you're hot. Yeah, you're
hot and drummer.
Speaker 8 (02:05:15):
That's right. And you know, I mean, I'm only like
just a little south of five ten, but I you know,
back then, I weighed like one hundred and forty undred
and forty five pounds. Yeah, long hair down to the
middle of my back, looking like you put.
Speaker 5 (02:05:27):
In the pony maybe and throw your did you throw
your drumsticks into the crowd sometimes just to let him
know that you're the you're the man.
Speaker 8 (02:05:34):
Oh yeah, for sure, I like, yeah, throw them yeah, man.
Speaker 5 (02:05:38):
You might pull, you might pull me. Keep talking about it.
Speaker 8 (02:05:41):
That game you know back in the eighties.
Speaker 5 (02:05:45):
You know, women like guys to look like them, right
you know, yeah, oh yeah, yeah.
Speaker 8 (02:05:49):
Well man, it's one of the big hair metal guys
you know back in the day.
Speaker 7 (02:05:52):
Right.
Speaker 1 (02:05:53):
I love it.
Speaker 8 (02:05:54):
Man?
Speaker 5 (02:05:55):
Are you are you married now?
Speaker 13 (02:05:57):
Yes?
Speaker 8 (02:05:57):
I got married when I was twenty four. I settled
down married when I was twenty four because I started
all that stuff back when I was like sixteen, you know.
Speaker 5 (02:06:03):
Right, yeah, yeah, I'm married.
Speaker 8 (02:06:06):
Uh well I'm no longer married now unfortunately, but I'm
sorry to hear that.
Speaker 5 (02:06:10):
Yep.
Speaker 8 (02:06:11):
Yeah, we were married for over twenty five years.
Speaker 5 (02:06:14):
Man, that's a great run. And I'm sorry to hear that.
But that's a great story, man. See drummer pull. Yeah yeah,
drummers are appreciated, Daryl, Great stuff, Daryl, that's I love it.
He said.
Speaker 9 (02:06:22):
I was.
Speaker 5 (02:06:23):
I was, I was hot, I was a good looking guy.
I love it. Oh that stuck to Bill and then
he was yoked up. It was about five yeah. Yeah,
had that hair down to the middle's back end going.
There's one hundred up about full five minutes. Yeah, Bill,
welcome in.
Speaker 12 (02:06:41):
Hey man, I.
Speaker 9 (02:06:41):
Am so jacked up for Sunday night.
Speaker 8 (02:06:45):
Uh.
Speaker 29 (02:06:45):
I'm hoping the Houston Texans win their next fifteen games
because I'm a lifelong Bear fan since the late sixties.
So I don't know if they can hang with the
Texans or not.
Speaker 5 (02:06:56):
Offensively.
Speaker 29 (02:06:57):
You started talking about earlier about the wide receiver matchup
if healthy. I think both sets of receivers are very comparable.
Speaker 7 (02:07:05):
To each other.
Speaker 29 (02:07:06):
I don't think the Bears are going to have doing
today or Keenan Allen Sunday night.
Speaker 8 (02:07:10):
I'm not sure both are hurting.
Speaker 12 (02:07:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (02:07:14):
Yeah, Keenan Allen was limping pretty bad on Sunday. You
know what I'm saying, hopefully. I mean, he's such a
good player, So.
Speaker 29 (02:07:22):
There's there's a lot and there's a lot of comp
if you if you take the three for the the
Texans and the three studs for the Bears and match
him up, there's a lot of comparables to each set
of three. You've each got kind of a Keenan Allen
Stefan Diggs type. You've got you've got speedsters, you've got
a guy, you know veterans, you've got DJ Moore. Anyway,
it's I think it's gonna be a great game. I'm
afraid the Bears just won't have enough offensive weapons to play.
(02:07:44):
But what they do have, I think that got a
little more ass in their defense and the Colts had
last week. Colts aren't bad, but I think the Bears
a little bit nastier, a little bit bigger up front,
and they got two dogs on the sides who can
who can rush the quarterback. So you guys, you know,
Tunsell had a great game, your offensive line played well.
(02:08:04):
I just think it's could be a hell of a
game Sunday night.
Speaker 5 (02:08:07):
Yeah, I actually think and and great point, Bill, I
think that the Bears are more formidile than people, formidable
than people think.
Speaker 6 (02:08:15):
Yeah, I do.
Speaker 5 (02:08:16):
I think it's a better now. I don't know if
it's going to end up that way, but going into this,
this this ain't what you've seen. Their Their roster's pretty good,
and if they're healthy, their wide receiver corps is on part.
They're good. Yeah, you got a stud rookie, you gotta
of all the veterans of both teams. You can say
that Keenan Allen's put up as good a run as
(02:08:36):
anybody has of the group, right, both both sides. Stefan Diggs,
Keenan Allen. I mean, they've been household names in this
league for a minute. So and the Bears are different
right now. They are And as poorly as they started
out playing offensively, you know not, it ended up being
pretty good. And you've got a guy off scheduled quarterbacks.
Scare me. You saw Anthony Richardson. They do if I'm
a defense because you can play them so well and
(02:08:59):
it takes about four or five plays and next thing
you know, they got you. That's what they do at
Kayleb Williams is dynamic. The Texans are a better team,
but don't don't don't Walten here on Sunday Night Football
and automatically think, oh, Caleb Williams and that's or bust
that that's a team. And Bears have always had the reputation,
I mean forever of when they're winning, they're they're really
(02:09:23):
they knock you around. Now we'll see if that Bears
team can match that this week. The talent on this
one overall is better, but I can tell you what,
the Bears. The Bears are a better team than I
think people across the league are talking about. Yeah they are.
Speaker 6 (02:09:35):
Yeah, I really do believe that. Let's let's talk about
this matchup.
Speaker 8 (02:09:40):
C J.
Speaker 6 (02:09:40):
Stroud could be without a pass catcher on Sunday evening.
Speaker 5 (02:09:44):
Who is it?
Speaker 4 (02:09:44):
And what's going on with that injury? As we get
into the nine o'clock hour right here on Sports Talk seven.
Speaker 20 (02:09:48):
Ninety k Houston, Houston, an iHeart radio station, the Astross,
the Rockets, Rockets Best befall your home for our home teams.
Speaker 3 (02:10:01):
This is Sports Talk seven ninety driven by the classic
Chevy Sugar Lends studios together.
Speaker 1 (02:10:07):
Let's dry.
Speaker 21 (02:10:12):
Saulisbury, Old Very Salbury, Houston.
Speaker 7 (02:10:17):
Okay, let's do this.
Speaker 3 (02:10:18):
Sewan Salisbury, there.
Speaker 2 (02:10:22):
To usc true, longtime friend, Shawn Salisbury.
Speaker 3 (02:10:24):
Ryan Lima, go Lobos. This is the Sean Salisbury Show.
Speaker 5 (02:10:32):
So a lot to discuss this week, Texas. I believe
in the eight people has moved up to number two,
and rightfully so they can hand in, they can play
with anybody. Let's get out to the phones. Let's get
to Mike and Katie. Mike, welcome in, man, what's up?
Speaker 10 (02:10:45):
Hey? I just want to answer here for a second.
You know we won one hundred games. Just had a
curiosity with you all input we won a hundred games
three years in a row. I know we lost Cole
and Uh Springer and Coorea, but we've also picked up
albaretz Is, Dana and Uh and Dash And I'm just
(02:11:05):
I want to kind of get y'all's inside put what
what do you think the difference between that one hundred
plus win team and a slow progression down to last
year we barely won ninety This year we're only gonna
win eighty eight. And now I'm happy that we've gone
far in the playoffs. I'm not questioning that. I just
I really wanted more of a factual reason why we
(02:11:26):
are not one hundred win team any longer.
Speaker 5 (02:11:29):
Well, let's let's talk for a second, Mike, before you go,
why are you if you win the division? Are you
really bothered that they didn't? I mean, you know how
hard it is to get one hundred wins every year?
Speaker 10 (02:11:39):
You do? You do know that?
Speaker 5 (02:11:41):
Right? Well, I'm going to tell you the facts right now,
and I get what you're asking, but damn, some years
it may just take eighty eight wins to win a division.
Some years, some years it just does. I mean, one
hundred wins a year is not norm for most teams.
Speaker 13 (02:11:55):
It's just not.
Speaker 5 (02:11:56):
So let's go through real quick factually for you, no
Korea replacing with a rookie he goes on and does
this thing. No Garrett Cole, no Charlie Morton, no George Springer.
You've had to replace them this year alone. Why you
go from a team you know their injuries last year
and other teams get good too, they go out and
(02:12:16):
spend money in free agency, or grab a Max Scherzer
or Justin Verlander goes to the Mets and you bring
him back. I mean there's a lot of different variables
and reasons. This year, five starting pitchers, Bregman, banged up,
Tucker missing what's seventy seventy five games, the slow start,
(02:12:39):
and it happens, and unfortunately happened a little longer than
you wanted it to this year. I mean, you start
to go around. First of all, you got to keep
paying everybody if you want to keep the same dudes,
which isn't feasible in baseball. Guys go change teams free
agency on a regular basis, and there's attrition as well,
so sometimes you got to carve out eighty eight to
ninety win seasons and then sometimes you're fortunate to win
(02:13:00):
one hundred and five. But the key is just to
win the division. And fortunately this year you're not going
to need one hundred wins to win the division. So
the facts are think with that, I look at the
other way around, how in the hell are they getting
close to ninety wins with what they've had injury wise?
So for me, well, one hundred wins. Would you let
(02:13:20):
me ask you this, Mike, And I know you love baseball,
and I think you've I mean, I know you've been
on our show before. Would you rather have an eighty
eight to ninety win team that's overcome and g and
has a lot of grit and grinding with a chance,
or one hundred win team that's eliminated in the first
round of the playoffs. What would you rather have?
Speaker 8 (02:13:39):
No question?
Speaker 10 (02:13:40):
And that really wasn't my purpose of the question. I'm
completely happy was what the Astros have done. My question
is I'm just hypothesizing, is that from that point, if
you look almost every year we've gone, we've lost less games,
And my question is is that does that mean do
you feel like we're on a Darren Will spiral, But
(02:14:03):
yet I know we's that injuries? Is youre no question
about it? Do you think it's just a blimp that
will we get back to be a ninety five?
Speaker 5 (02:14:11):
Ok?
Speaker 16 (02:14:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (02:14:13):
There we ninety plus again? Yes? Do I think next
year they could win ninety five games if the pitching
staff is healthy, getting all of them back and you
get a little luck along the way and your right
fielder doesn't miss seventy five games. Now, those aren't the
only reasons other teams are good. They've they've they've leaving
runners in scoring pisions. They have to address some of
these things in the offseason. And not to mention three
different managers in this run, three different general managers in
(02:14:36):
this run letting free agents goach. We talked about, Yeah,
if you're asking Mike, is a window closed on them
or closing? I mean, I don't know if wins and
losses means windows, because if Bregman goes somewhere else, you
start to concern and say, Okay, how much longer can
you sustain this? And Verlanders forty one and what's going
on with him? And these injuries? Will mccolors ever be
(02:14:56):
a starting pitcher again. So yeah, there's no doubt. Windows
don't stay open for twenty years. That's rare, So this
is a hell of a window that's been open. But
I think they're good enough, and we've seen how they
developed minor league players that even if they didn't make
the playoffs one year doesn't mean the windows shut. It
means they got to kick it back open. And they're
still because they've got good players that are still Jordan's young,
(02:15:17):
Tucker's young, Bregman still got plenty of baseball left in him.
Alt two Bay's got what four or five more years,
a young pitching staff, the Arraghetties of the world, the
Hunter Brown. So I don't think the windows close to
being closed. But do I think that it's cyclical at
times that Yeah, one year this team they won one
hundred and were eliminated. Next year they won one hundred
and five, next year they win ninety three. So I
(02:15:39):
do think I don't think the windows closed. I think
you have to keep some of your core players or
the window close as faster. But I think they've got
enough good pain as young, They've got enough good players.
I don't think the window's close to being shut. Do
I think that this year has been more of an
aberration than their normal seasons.
Speaker 17 (02:15:58):
I do.
Speaker 5 (02:16:00):
I do, and I think if they can survive this year,
nothing but a great lesson moving forward. And I don't
think they have to prove to us how mentally tough
they've been after what they went through at the beginning
and all these injuries, to be sitting four and a
half in front of first place. It's a great point
by you, Mike. Thank you appreciate the call home. He
just wondered if the window was closing, Brian, I know
you had to no out real quick. And why did
(02:16:21):
the game winning like this year, maybe eighty eight or
eighty nine wins to win the division? Well, if they
win the division, is the window shutting because the winds
are going down? I said, well, I think it's cyclical.
Sometimes you left runners on all the injuries. There's a
lot of factors that come into it. The facts are
you shouldn't have been able to overcome all this, in
my opinion, and they have. Uh No one in Major
League Baseball right now is on pace for one hundred wins, right,
(02:16:42):
and that's wins one hundred. Winds aren't the norm right, so,
and I think Mike gets that. He just I think
Mike's concern is three years from now, will the wind
to be shut?
Speaker 4 (02:16:52):
No, I don't think so. Anything So pitching. They got
too much pitching. Young pitching as well, exactly, Brian, thank
you for holding good morning.
Speaker 8 (02:17:00):
Hey, how's it going, guys?
Speaker 5 (02:17:01):
Good man?
Speaker 6 (02:17:01):
What's on your mind?
Speaker 8 (02:17:03):
Oh?
Speaker 13 (02:17:03):
What's on your mind today?
Speaker 8 (02:17:06):
Bourbon and coffee for me this morning.
Speaker 7 (02:17:07):
I'm off today.
Speaker 6 (02:17:08):
Bourbon and coffee. What a combo? That's what I'm talking about, Brian,
Happy Friday to you, my man.
Speaker 13 (02:17:14):
All right, all right, I want to talk about the Ducks.
I'm going to tell you a little story first, and
then the question will come at the end.
Speaker 5 (02:17:21):
Years talk about who? Talk about who?
Speaker 8 (02:17:24):
The Orgon Ducks.
Speaker 5 (02:17:25):
Oh, oh, the Oregon Ducks. All right, okay, So years.
Speaker 13 (02:17:29):
Ago I got on my knees and I prayed to God,
please don't let me die until the Ducks went on
football National Championship. And I feel like I'm going to
live to one hundred and fifty. But uh, how did
we drop six spots when we've won both our games?
Speaker 10 (02:17:47):
All right, that's my.
Speaker 8 (02:17:47):
Question right there?
Speaker 5 (02:17:49):
Well, who'd you beat? I know who? You beat me,
you do you tell me?
Speaker 1 (02:17:53):
I know how this is.
Speaker 15 (02:17:54):
I know.
Speaker 13 (02:17:55):
Hey, listen, the first one was crap.
Speaker 5 (02:17:57):
But Boise State is a decent yes, and we got
a new quarterback and we haven't lost.
Speaker 1 (02:18:05):
What bugs means.
Speaker 13 (02:18:06):
If we lose one of those games to Michigan or
Ohio State and where we lost all those spots, then
it's gonna kick us out of their top squoils and
we're always relevant for the last eight years.
Speaker 5 (02:18:16):
Come on, guys, it's early. They they got Oregon State
this week. Let me let me explain that if their
first the first game they played, they barely got away
with one. Now they're the Organ's the hell of a team,
and they're gonna be around when the season is over.
I wouldn't worry about that as long as they live
up to what we thought they were preseason. Most had
them in the top five and preseason opening games struggled
(02:18:37):
but got through it. Next game. Boise State's a good
football team. They were able to win it close. But
what the with the twelve team committee. Now what's coming
more into play is you're not you're getting punished for bad.
When I say punished, they're gonna mark you down for
bad wins, you don't get oh, they beat they beat
Utah State, or they beat the you know, they beat
(02:18:58):
Oregon State. That's fine team. But if you beat a
team like, oh, they beat Tennessee Chattanooga, You're not gonna
get an over amount of credit anymore for that. And
you know what you're gonna get credit for. For instance,
for in conference and Wisconsin plays Alabama this week, if
Wisconsin loses twenty four to twenty, they're gonna get They're
gonna look favorably at Alabama's ranked fourth or whatever it is.
(02:19:21):
They're not gonna crush Wisconsin as much as they would
have in the past. You're because of their it's Alabama.
You're an SEC team and a Big ten. So yeah,
you're going to you just can't. They're gonna with twelve teams.
You're gonna have to dominate teams you're supposed to dominate.
And if you lose and you're playing a team that's
(02:19:41):
ranked too, and you're you're not ranked and you beat them,
they're they're gonna suffer some consequences in the committee's eyes
for this. So it's the optics. The only reason is
the optics. The first two weeks for Oregon did not
look like the number three team in the country. That's why.
But it's early, brother, I wouldn't panic.
Speaker 23 (02:19:59):
You're gonna be fine, all right, So we go beat
Ohio State.
Speaker 7 (02:20:02):
We're good.
Speaker 5 (02:20:03):
Right, Well, you go beat Ohio State. The slots go,
they they Joe, who you got this week? Oregon State?
Craze at Oregon State? Yes, right, yeah, you got to
Oregon State this week. You go beat Ohio State. Like
I said, now, we're talking a different ballgame. The the
amount of spots you dropped, you're gonna jump. Okay, so
there you go.
Speaker 13 (02:20:21):
Hey how about that PAC twelve. Man, Hey, they're undefeated
the whole conference.
Speaker 5 (02:20:26):
Yeah, we're loaded with six. You're talking about the PAC twelve.
That's you're talking about the new PAC twelve or the
the old PAC twelve that's now in the Big ten?
Which one?
Speaker 29 (02:20:33):
Man?
Speaker 5 (02:20:33):
Yeah? Man, we are loaded? Well you mean all two
of them? Yeah, we are loaded, brother, Thank you, Oregon State,
Oregon States too, and oh and Washington State must be
undefeated too, I guess right.
Speaker 4 (02:20:46):
Brian having himself a good morning, they're both to those. Yeah,
there you go, Oregon State and Washington State two dogs
in that Pac twelve.
Speaker 6 (02:20:54):
You mean the only two yes, exactly. I gotta seven
five seven nine.
Speaker 4 (02:20:59):
He got or more of you callers to get to
something's going on with Dalton Schultz for the Houston Texans.
Speaker 6 (02:21:05):
What is that?
Speaker 4 (02:21:06):

Angels eight thirty eight to the first pitch, seven thirty
on Deck show right here on seven on your home

at Energy Stadium. The Bills beat the Dolphins last night
(02:23:10):
in Thursday Night Football seven one, three, two point two five,
seven eights. Get back out to the phone lines. Best
gets your up first.
Speaker 18 (02:23:15):
Good morning, that's my brother's top of the morning to you.
Speaker 7 (02:23:21):
Welle.
Speaker 18 (02:23:22):
Let me let me say this, Sean, and to answer
when you call up out the Astros they not as talented.
That's it. Then we could say that, Sean, they're not
as talented they was four years five years ago.
Speaker 8 (02:23:34):
Man, you will you know Springer and and Korea and
and and U League.
Speaker 18 (02:23:40):
And I mean especially defensively. The man, then all those
are all gold glovers, you know what I mean. So
and then you had cole with with young Erdlander and
they were more talented. That's not the same. We still
can't win it.
Speaker 4 (02:23:52):
But they was stacked.
Speaker 18 (02:23:53):
Then that's that's the thing. That's the answer to the boys,
that they were stacked. Man, you lose all that, you
gonna drop a little bit.
Speaker 7 (02:24:01):
I don't care who you're.
Speaker 18 (02:24:02):
A opinion of okay, you know, but now you lost
you you're not as good as you were. That's that's
to me.
Speaker 5 (02:24:07):
And you can still find ways to win. And the
truth is they were so stacked. Most teams aren't stacked
that way unless you're the Dodgers paying for it all right,
going out and getting everybody and willing to pay. It's
hard to be that stacked in a lot of positions,
and they were fortunate to have it. Now they look
like a normal team. I mean not normally meaning meaning okay,
we're trying to find the full time center fielder, trying
(02:24:27):
to find a full time first baseman, dealing with injuries.
Yet the ability to overcome these and deal when things
aren't great and you're not the most gifted talented team
in the league says something about their character.
Speaker 18 (02:24:39):
Agreed exactly, And that's and that's the thing. You kudos
to them to still be in it, you know what
I mean, with all the injury, but not as talented,
and but that just goes.
Speaker 8 (02:24:50):
To show the culture they got over there.
Speaker 18 (02:24:52):
But let me tell you this, man. You know, you know,
my mom's side and family from Indiana. My dad's side
is from san Antonio. I'm telling you right now, I
can take you some place on the west side of
San Antonio. They got some fineans over there.
Speaker 1 (02:25:07):
And then he count me in.
Speaker 18 (02:25:08):
I'm going fatness comment, come inted, I could take you
the place.
Speaker 8 (02:25:12):
You whoa man? You think you man?
Speaker 6 (02:25:15):
Now I'm talking uh we uh.
Speaker 4 (02:25:17):
We played some Charles Barkley audio when he always gives
the women in Sanatorio.
Speaker 6 (02:25:22):
That's what that's just the inside joke here.
Speaker 18 (02:25:24):
No, man always talk about it.
Speaker 4 (02:25:26):
Hey man, I spent a lot of time in San
Antonio when I when I used to be in oil
and gas, I used to stay in like the Stone
Oak area right through off sixteen oh four in U
two eighty one, and then over the Yeah, like the
directly north and then over but the northwest side by
the rim. Yeah, but north there scared scared. I think
(02:25:47):
he might be scared. I think he's scared there.
Speaker 6 (02:25:52):
That No, there's a lifetime right there off of sixteen
oh four.
Speaker 5 (02:25:55):
You go to try to pull.
Speaker 6 (02:25:57):
I didn't try to pull. I just just enjoyed the George.
It was not bad, not bad.
Speaker 19 (02:26:05):
You know what.
Speaker 13 (02:26:06):
I don't know if you heard of the comedian Gary Owens.
Speaker 5 (02:26:08):
Oh yeah, I know.
Speaker 6 (02:26:10):
Is he the one that's married to the sister.
Speaker 12 (02:26:12):
Yeah, you know, he said, He said, Houston rank number
one in the country for our roster. Sister sister connoisseur.
Speaker 5 (02:26:23):
He's a sister connoisseur, he said, Houston did. So that
goes back to the talent. We're talking about the astros too.
We're loaded with talent all over the Houston area.
Speaker 18 (02:26:33):
We got a roster, we got a roster with some death.
Speaker 5 (02:26:37):
He's a sister connoisseur. What do you play this last
day before I go?
Speaker 18 (02:26:43):
And I know you played football, and when I played football, shining,
I never ever got a concussion all these I played.
I don't know if you have shanning out him a
handful of So take us through what you what you're
going through in your mind? Said, and how you feeling
when you get a concussion? And I just and I say, John,
(02:27:04):
what would you say to Tour? Because I remember back
in the day with Roger Stallback, I would go to
my dying bed thinking if if Starback was still with
the Cowboys would have had one or two more rings.
But them concussions, man and Tour, He's gonna have to
make a decision because it wasn't even that hard of
a head.
Speaker 5 (02:27:22):
Yeah, and at least it looked like it from us,
but we don't know the angle of the neck. You
know what I'm saying, Biscuit. The the actual impact that
it looked, it looked. I don't want to say what benign,
but it but obviously the turnout wasn't benign because he's
hurt again and it's sad. So yeah, in that head.
And I will Biscuit to tell you for me, and
(02:27:42):
great call man, great fun stuff. I love it. He's
a he's a sister connoisseur. When I saw it, I'm like, okay,
you know, you see it and you don't know. And
then all of a sudden you see his arm go
up and he squeeze his right hand and stuff. And
we've seen the movie before with him, remember a couple times.
Well one is as far as to a I've never
(02:28:04):
you know, all of us are going to have an
opinion on when he should or should he retire. Well,
you can't tell a player, listen, I'm just telling you
from a distance. Trying to convince a player that's in
their twenties that they need to retire is hard to
do it's hard to walk away because what a concussion is.
Sometimes it's not tangible because okay, two days later, you
feel a little better from it, maybe a little. You
(02:28:25):
got to go through all the protocol I'm talking about
in tier how you feel, not what the protocol of
the NFL is. So you go through it. It's not
as tangible. Why because maybe the headaches come thirty years later,
maybe the memory loss comes thirty years later. See you're thinking,
it's a good I overcome as a little ding that
we used to call those dings. Okay, see stars, concussions
add up, and so we're sitting here saying, okay, to
(02:28:47):
do it. Because what happens is three or four days
you're like, I'm good to go. Yeah, I'm good to go.
Unlike a blown out knee or a blown out achilles,
you ain't good to go. Dude, it's tangible. I see
the cast. I can't walk with a concussion. And maybe
you're a little fuzzy in the first day or two.
But a weekend, I'm just telling you, although the protocol
prevents it. A weekend. Back when I played, the protocol
(02:29:09):
was can you see two fingers? A week later, you're
ready to play. Unlike a torn hamstring, you can't play.
So that's one and it's very difficult to tell a player.
I'm just telling you guys that it is. And Biscuit
makes a great point is to go up and us
sit on a national show or a local show and
say he should retire. Well, he just signed a new contract.
Well money's not I get it. But telling the mid
twenties guy that that you can't go that it wants
(02:29:32):
to prove that he's tough and keep playing. Listen, if
Alex Smith could move, it's not a concutlet lower lake
gruesome injury, he would still play. Yeah, if he could
do the things that he did when he was at
his best and the paint you know what I'm saying,
most players you got drag him off the field. And
I mean literally almost right with two. It's sad. What
a great human being and what a great kid, and
he's a hell of a football player. And I know
(02:29:53):
we sit back for his well being and say, dude,
you've got to consider it, and that's fair, and I'm
sure he will consider what the options are and I'm
sure the Dolphins in the NFL are going to help
with that. But it is almost impossible to tell a guy.
I'm telling you, the hardest thing to walk away from
when you're playing your sport is believing you're still healthy
and walking away from because you still think you got game.
(02:30:15):
It's when that injury, like Sterling Sharp's injury or somebody
like that, it ends your career neck injury. You just
can't go. The doctors won't clear you. That's hard because
you think there's it's hard, but it's almost easier to
be told I'm telling you that you can't play anymore. Dude,
we're taking the decision out of your hands than it
is when the decisions floating, because you know what all
competitive athletes will do. Oh, I still got it in me.
(02:30:38):
So when somebody tells you we're not allowing you to
play anymore with a concussion, that's hard to do. Does
that make sense because at some point I'm sure he's
going to pass protocol, but we don't know what the
long term ramifications are going to be with two of
himself because each individual one concussion may be the same
as fifteen for one guy, fifteen may not be as
bad as the one for the other guy. And to
answer biscuits question, real quick on how I felt I'm
(02:31:00):
playing in a game. I mean, I had been concussted,
you know, a handful of times, but the one that
I'm thinking of the most. We're playing Tampa Bay. Hit
my head on the turf after getting hit and went
over there, did the smelling salts and do all that.
The whole game was kind of was discombobulated. But I
finished the entire second half of the game and I
had zero idea how to get the play. Steve Jordan
ar tight and I think I've told you this story
would stand next to me because he'd always want to
(02:31:21):
know the signals. He wanted to get the play before
I set it in the huddle, so he helped me.
He'd shay sean double right, scout right eighty five dots
because I couldn't. It just wasn't going from my head
to my mouth fast enough. Yet I wasn't willing to
come out of the game. So what he did, and
he'd get the signals, he'd tell it to me. I'd
tell it to the team. Now, once I got to
the line of scrimmage, I could call down set white
(02:31:42):
eighty whitey, and I could execute the play. And after
the game has over, had no idea, what have we
won a game until the next day, and so you
know the old don't fall asleep for a few hours,
and I'd stick to my stomach a little queasy for
a couple of days, and then you roll back into it.
And by the next week. I was practicing two days later,
(02:32:03):
and I don't remember what happened. And until I saw
the tape, I didn't remember how we won the second
half of the game, damn. And because I remember Broderick
Thomas hit me and then my head hit the turf
in the But you don't tell anybody they come over there.
You knew you were dinged. And I told Steve, I said, dude,
just get the signals. You tell me, and while you're
wigwagon they're wigwagging, you tell me, and I'll tell them
to the team. And that's how I got by so
(02:32:24):
and I was sick to myself. Now I don't know
five years or ten years from now how I'm going
to be, but I got news for it. I came
out of it pretty cool. I never played pop worn,
I didn' play football TLL. I got in the high school.
So I've had a handful And maybe you don't know.
Did you see stars as that considered a concussion that's
happened far more. Think about the linebacker's got twenty five
concussions you don't know about. We're not telling him to
retire yet because he didn't say anything to anybody and
(02:32:46):
he little, you know, maybe his eyes but went off.
You don't see him stagger when he walks off. Happens
on the practice field sometimes too. So it's gut wrenching.
And I know I've spent time on this, but two
is not going to retire over this, I don't believe.
But he's got to consider what the level of scare
or what what? Now? Now that's not fair. Maybe he will,
(02:33:09):
but he's got it's gonna be hard to convince him
because new contract, he's gonna also feel obligated to the team.
That's that's just the human nature of a player. Yeah,
so I just it's scary, but most guys won't walk
away early in their career from a concussion. Now Connor
Border the linebacker one year with San Francisco, great player,
done done. Yeah, each individual has their individual decision to make.
(02:33:30):
For us, it's gruesome to watch. Yeah, for him, it's
I'm a competitor, right, that's the way it works.
Speaker 4 (02:33:34):

Speaker 4 (02:34:44):
Yeah, bro okay, hop Yeah, seven one three two one

Try to get through these calls because next second we've
got a big announcement coming straight from the Houston Texans
that we've got to get into, and I want to
make sure we cancommodate all our callers.
Speaker 6 (02:35:01):
Jay, you're up first. What's happening?
Speaker 7 (02:35:03):
Hey? How you doing fellas well?
Speaker 5 (02:35:04):
Ben?
Speaker 1 (02:35:05):
Jay?
Speaker 6 (02:35:05):
Where are you being?
Speaker 7 (02:35:06):
First of all, Man, I changed careers. I'm a teacher
that coach of football from middle school. So when I
was called in the life, I was the delivery person.
I was working at Amazon, had time to listen to.
Speaker 6 (02:35:18):
Now you're coaching, man, rats on that.
Speaker 7 (02:35:21):
Appreciate it.
Speaker 5 (02:35:22):
Man, that's awesome news. Good for you.
Speaker 7 (02:35:25):
Appreciate it. Uh, Brian, I'm gonna just tell you this
before I get into my tape.
Speaker 20 (02:35:28):
Uh.
Speaker 7 (02:35:29):
Ain't nothing wrong with trying the trippy chaser. Man.
Speaker 16 (02:35:32):
You might like it?
Speaker 6 (02:35:37):
Hey, look, man, might you might like it?
Speaker 4 (02:35:39):
But man like Look, I'll admit I may may have
had a couple of slump busters in my life, maybe
one or two.
Speaker 6 (02:35:49):
So I think everybody asked.
Speaker 7 (02:35:54):
Hey, before I got married to one, I would saying
the same thing.
Speaker 23 (02:35:57):
Man.
Speaker 7 (02:35:57):
I never laid out with a big girl, but man,
that girl my life.
Speaker 6 (02:36:07):
Man, and whatever makes you happen.
Speaker 5 (02:36:09):
Yeah, why is it?
Speaker 7 (02:36:09):
Why?
Speaker 5 (02:36:10):
And here's the difference. Why is it always in Jay?
Why is it that the ladies did we look at them?
Why she with that big guy? You know what I'm saying.
We always like, oh the ladies are they're too big?
When's the dude too big? The ladies? Sometimes, I mean
the guys if the guy's throwing faux Hundi at you before, Yeah,
I mean I fell in love with the big boy. Yeah,
(02:36:31):
jelly roll, right.
Speaker 6 (02:36:33):
Don't hate on jelly Roll, man, that's a big one.
Speaker 5 (02:36:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:36:35):
So Brian, Brian, Right.
Speaker 7 (02:36:39):
Okay, it's tried. It's tried, Brian. But uh I called.
I called Don wanted to talk about Otani. But some
just came up and watching the game yesterday with two
of going out and the backup came in. And I
guess I should ask you this. We've seen tens of
twenties of quarterbacks get drafted every year and most of
them are prolific that passing in college.
Speaker 16 (02:37:02):
Now.
Speaker 7 (02:37:02):
I know NFL is different, but why wouldn't these back
ups come in? It's like a whole new game. It's
like they never played a game in their life. They
come in so terrible and don't move the bomb, and
it should be the routine throws that they don't make.
But when you look back, like you say, they'd be
at an FBS program and slanging the ball around like crazy.
But when they when they get the opportunity to come
(02:37:23):
into the game as a backup, it's like a huge
drop off. Yeah, back in the day, used to yeah,
back in the day where you say, have Burlin you Salisbury?
Speaker 5 (02:37:31):
You know, yeah, exactly, you know, damn right there, Damn right.
I was gonna say, you maybe talk about don't be
talking about me and Bono and Burlin and Rodney Pete
and Steve de Burg all day. Hey, I'll put ours
up against anybody right coming off the bench to Star games, interactly,
And I laugh and I mean it kind of tongue
(02:37:52):
in cheek, but I get what it has changed.
Speaker 29 (02:37:54):
Now.
Speaker 5 (02:37:54):
There's some who come in that you can count on.
The just come and hit the ground running. You know
who those are, right, do you say? Damn like when
he came in, made some plays. But I think what
happens They come in with a little trepidation. First, they
haven't got a lot of work, and even in college
right now, I would expect a ten year veteran, like
when Josh McCown was playing, that you come in and
you get as to where we need to go. You
may not be as thrilling as the other guy, but
(02:38:15):
I'm not changing my game plan on throwing balls that
if I need to throw, I'm not backing off because
you're a ten year veteran that ain't got a lot
of work. That's your job.
Speaker 13 (02:38:23):
But you're right.
Speaker 5 (02:38:24):
A young player comes in and it's like they're they're little,
they're they're treading a little lightly. They don't see the
reader is Chris, so they're a little late, and instead
of reading it out, the guy shows in the flat
and they throw it right now because they're afraid to
take a few chances because they want to keep You know,
it's human nature, But you're right. The fall off feels
to me a big distance between the starter and the
(02:38:44):
backup right now? Is that what you're saying, And there's
not many backups in the league right now that you
can maybe for a half, but that I'd say, if
that guy gets hurt, can you go win for me
like Teddy Bridgewater did in New Ordans won five street.
Can you go win five games for me? I know
when I played Steve Bono one and the Berg won,
I won. I mean there was guys who who could
(02:39:05):
go in there and that the coaching staff trusted in
the players that, well, you may not be Warren Moon,
we're still sticking with. We're running a comeback. You're going
to throw it. Just try to do it as good
as that Hall of Favor does and there's a falloff.
But then it's the coordinator's job to put you in
those positions. But I think it's their trepidation and they don't.
They're not as confident as they were when they were
(02:39:26):
the guy because now they're just a guy, and when
the opportunity presents itself, you're like, damn, I am the guy.
Now what am I going to do with it?
Speaker 7 (02:39:34):
Yeah? Okay, that's all I was wondering. Man, just watch
it that game, because I was just like, man like,
he looks like he never practiced. I mean, I know
he don't run with the walls, but my god, like,
what do you do in practice for them to throw
you out there where somebody gets hun you.
Speaker 5 (02:39:48):
Still know a curl and a flat or appose you
still got to know how to read it out and
you can get the ball out of your hand, so
those coaches and players can trust to put you in
those high stress situations, no doubt about it. Man, appreciate it.
All right, congrats ToJ Thank you, and real quick, Bill,
I got forty seconds for you.
Speaker 6 (02:40:06):
What's going on?
Speaker 23 (02:40:08):
Yes, I heard what y'all were saying about Tua, and
I know somebody at the station has media credentials, and
I would ask you please put this question to CJ.
Stroud the next time y'all get to ask a question,
maybe even.
Speaker 8 (02:40:23):
Before or after a game.
Speaker 23 (02:40:25):
Will you please you know that last year do you
have one injury and that was a brain injury?
Speaker 5 (02:40:32):
Will you please CJ.
Speaker 23 (02:40:33):
Stroud be a pioneer and wearing a guardian cap. Okay,
there's no reason to a Taga Maloa with his history
should have been out there without a guardian cap. Or
go to Tamiko Ryans and say, will you please commit
to a policy where you do not put a quarterback
on the field that does not have a guardian cap on?
Speaker 3 (02:40:54):
Please?
Speaker 23 (02:40:54):
In the Houston Texans be pioneers in this technology because man,
we love us and c J Stroud he has made
my personal life so much better. Just him existing as
a human on this team and taking that small amount
of safety into account when he steps on the field
(02:41:16):
would be a you know, I don't use this word
a lot, but a blessing. Okay, So please, if one
of y'all can put this question to him and put
this seed in the Miko's mind and in CJ's mind
of protecting yourself, would you please do that?
Speaker 13 (02:41:35):
That was my question.
Speaker 5 (02:41:35):
Yeah, we'll talk about it, but I can just tell
you this collective bargaining wise, you don't just get to
put any uniform. You had a uniformity, I would assume
that that has to be approved now anytime it's concussion safety,
I'll just tell you real quick. The opt he's talking
about the path on top of the helmet. Yeah, they
can wear him in games. So there were some linemen
last week wearing them and some now they make the
helmets insight. I can just tell you now, Yeah, for
(02:41:57):
the most part, most players they want less pads. I
understand the safety and what he's saying, one hundred percent safety.
Some just don't like the optics. Look at it, and
they just don't I get I get this, And why
is it just why we just focus on a quarterback?
What about a receiver? What about the outside the running back?
Speaker 4 (02:42:12):
I get the sentiment to a tongue of ioloa has
no business running into a defender, get your ass down,
slid slid on the ground.
Speaker 5 (02:42:21):
Well, there comes a point in time when you don't
need to take guy on. I understand that you want
to prove you're tough, but I need you. I need
you on the field, not off it. Yeah, and so,
but I do understand we may eventually get to the
extra protection where the league you're forced to wear it.
Most players don't want They just don't because they think
it's never gonna happen to them, even the ones that
have had happened to them. And you know what, I
hate to say this, do you know what they don't?
(02:42:41):
You know what they do? The main thing they don't
why they don't want to wear it? Do you talk
to They don't like the way it doesn't look cool
at it. Yeah, that's why. But it's a change, and
it's a good point. But I don't think that Demico
is going to be able to force CJ to do that,
but maybe the NFL does in a new CBA.
Speaker 6 (02:42:56):
Yeah, we could. We could see that in the future.
Seven seven.
Speaker 4 (02:42:59):
Any major announcement from the Texans, we'll talk about it next.

Speaker 6 (02:45:39):

Speaker 5 (02:45:42):
I didn't know what you're doing, but it hit me.
I said, He's gonna tell me who's singing? Clay Walker.
I told you.
Speaker 4 (02:45:48):
Wow, Clay Walker is singing the national anthem for the
nineteen hundred time out of Texans game Sunday.
Speaker 5 (02:45:55):
I'm supposed to be there now I'm not going. Look
not because it's Clay Walker. Oh he's singing. He's not
singing this cut, He's singing sing the national Yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:46:03):
Yeah, but it's like, dude, he's done it a thousand times.
Speaker 5 (02:46:07):
Are they afraid somebody else is gonna turn him down?
Speaker 4 (02:46:09):
Cody Johnson? Where are you at? Luke Combs? You can't
fly Luke Combes in to do it?
Speaker 5 (02:46:14):
Hell?
Speaker 1 (02:46:15):
You want me local?
Speaker 6 (02:46:16):

Speaker 5 (02:46:16):
Hello, what about Luke Skywalker or him? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (02:46:19):

Speaker 4 (02:46:20):
Oh yes, you are out of your frigging mud Walker
singing the national hands?
Speaker 5 (02:46:27):
Oh, I'm sure that took a lot to do. Yeah, hey,
Clay for the twenty seventh time, you want to come sing? Yeah,
